Starting point is 00:00:00 Senna. How? Why are you wearing the same outfit you were last week, Achara? Because. What kind of witchcraft is this? Why do you have me in the same outfit I wore last time? Because you're wearing Agatha's colors, that's why. Who is Sharon?
Starting point is 00:00:13 What's going on, everybody? We were watching Agatha all along. Episode Quatro. Let's jump into it. Here we go. Oh. What? She's got a knife.
Starting point is 00:00:29 She's got a knife. I poisoned yours. What? Do you what? I poisoned yours? Poisoned your what? Did I miss something? Poisoned your what?
Starting point is 00:00:44 I don't know. Just when I was beginning to care about you. What? Dang. Poised. Or what? I don't know. I'm like trying to rack my head around like, okay, did she eat something, drink something, touch something?
Starting point is 00:01:08 It could be in relation to something that happened in the past. And so she can't forgive her about it, you know? Yes. I really like the way that they're kind of just giving us little tidbits. So, you know, we're excited to come back. At least I'm excited to come back. That's certainly a Reese's Pieces ET trail. yeah yeah yeah i like it i suppose they're doing a nice job of like giving you those breadcrumbs those
Starting point is 00:01:34 catness everdean chapter uh cliffhangers you know yeah yeah you know it's like come back next time and we'll explain to you some more but they're really building the relationships really nicely especially like with agatha and with teen you know like it's just like the little the little things like when he got thrown through the window her look was like you know really really concerned And I love how her guard is coming down more and more when she's around him. You know what? It can't be her son. That's too obvious.
Starting point is 00:02:07 Sure. That's just too obvious. I mean, but the thing is, the show, it does the obvious sometimes. Like, I had suspected, you know, that maybe there was something between them. Yeah. A relationship of some kind. You're like, stop it, Jabby. Wishful thinking, Jabby.
Starting point is 00:02:21 And I'm like, I don't know. I feel like there's something there. And that seems to be what's indicated in this episode. Yeah. Yeah, it's very apparent. now, okay? So I'm like, okay, well, the obvious thing would be that that's her kid. But maybe it'll surprise us.
Starting point is 00:02:35 I mean, maybe it's her kid and her kid is someone else, you know, someone else that was mentioned whose name begins with an M. But I think it is interesting. Oh, you mean like Mephisto? Yeah, but it's interesting because, so here's the connection that I'm making, right? so this episode is about how Alice's mother was in fact protecting her all along with a song which is like a really beautiful thing to think about because she created this song and had all these concerts and made it like her number one hit song so that at any time in the world
Starting point is 00:03:11 I just connected it okay gotcha now I connected it yeah I was like because I was like who's singing the song I've missed the part where like it's a number one hit that people almost like the Beatles yeah so it's somewhere in the world people someone is playing the song so it's a surefire way to protect her child i thought someone was like under a gun somewhere like she's just like singing down down down the road no so it's actually it's a really beautiful thing and it's like a really um a great example of a mother's love for her child right and so with agatha saying well you know the sigil remains there until it's not needed anymore so maybe you know you My brain went.
Starting point is 00:03:54 Maybe she placed it on him so that, like, they would never know who he is because it might be too dangerous to know who he is. I don't know. Maybe it's like he just appeared out of nowhere. Maybe he's not been existing in the world up until that moment, you know, and he just suddenly appeared. And the parents that he thinks he has are not actually his real parents, you know? That kid looks so much like across between three different people in my brain.
Starting point is 00:04:22 the main character from Office Space, the original Dune actor, and the Hispanic guy who plays Blue Beetle, like all three of them. His face looks so much like all three of them in my brain. I like episode three better. I'll say that much. Episode four's rendition of the song was fun, for sure.
Starting point is 00:04:39 Yeah, that was a cool scene. It made me desire seeing just like a music video without the... You know, one of my biggest gripes with Disney that I still have yet to forgive them about 20 years later is that there's no version of the song from Moulon without a weird, absurd end. Oh, be a man.
Starting point is 00:04:59 No, no, no, no, no, the other one. Girl worth fighting for. It just ends abruptly in the movie, and that's how it ends on the soundtrack. But, like, it's not complete. You know what I mean? It is complete because it tells the story of the scene and therefore it is complete.
Starting point is 00:05:11 No, you have to have a soundtrack version. That's what a lot of composers do is they have the movie version. Sure, that's true. And so it would be cool to have a music video that isn't, you know, you know, with all the dialogue and stuff. Like, it's just a music video.
Starting point is 00:05:23 That'd be nice. Maybe. I almost, like, got Elton Johnny vibes for a second. I don't know why. Maybe because of the piano. Oh. I thought it was so cool. I mean, I'm really enjoying just, like, the musical aspects of this.
Starting point is 00:05:36 And I suspected that there would have to be a song as soon as I saw the metronome. I was like, stuff. Our main Asian lady had a almost like a linen-esque look, right? Yeah, with the round glasses. Yeah. I just loved that. it was this kind of like 70s era and yeah you're right she was kind of channeling that like hippie vibe and then like 60s 60s I guess yeah 60s 70s yeah and then like Catherine Hahn and
Starting point is 00:06:02 orbie plaza were kind of well actually the rest of them kind of felt a little bit more disco except for you know lisa so yeah it was just it was it was it was really fun like I'm loving how we're able to have different looks in each episode too okay it really tickles me On that, I had a question for you, is this indicating that maybe somehow it's still under the trap of, well, clearly Agatha is still under the trap of Scarlet Witch, right? And so basically all these different, what? Well, I think the spell was lifted. Oh, she just doesn't have her powers. She just doesn't have her powers.
Starting point is 00:06:40 Well, it's just because like in Wanda Vision they were going through all the different eras of her favorite TV shows and stuff like that. And so it feels very reminiscent. And maybe that's just by the design of like the omnipotent narrator or whatever or the creators of the show. Like it's just supposed to have that kind of similarity. But there's no relationship between the two as far as Scarlet Witch goes other than her powers are taken away. Yeah. I mean, I feel like at least with this part, I don't know about the previous episode, but I feel like with this episode, it's definitely a lot to do with Alice, right, and her experience. And so...
Starting point is 00:07:17 I know. When they entered the other house, the whole outfit changed. Yeah, but I don't think that, whereas in Wondervision, like you said, all the different eras of shows and whatnot, they were all things that provided Wonder with a sense of comfort, right? I don't think that this is the case here where it has any direct connection to Agatha and her experience. Okay, I was just checking. I mean, I don't know for sure, but that's how I feel. I might be throwing in a wrench that does not belong.
Starting point is 00:07:49 It's just that because they're going through the different outfits, I've thought maybe it's worth asking if it has any connection to the hex or whatever that Scarlet Witch had created. Yeah. You know, because, like, is it at all possible that all this is somehow inside the matrix instead of a matrix of Agatha's mind? Who knows? I mean, we're nearly halfway through. So that could be a thing that they do. But I feel like the road is just its own thing.
Starting point is 00:08:14 But, yeah, wouldn't it be diabolical if it turns. out that this is all part of Wanda's spell. She had some crazy shit going on at the end of Wanda Vision, you know, like the, in the post-credit scene, she was outside and she was inside. I don't like, you know, and she was like figure, and she could hear her kids off. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, but then that led into Dr. Strange. So.
Starting point is 00:08:37 I'm just saying she had multiple, she was like on some kind of Dr. Manhattan level of operation. Right. And so it wouldn't surprise me if that was sort of happening here on some level, but there's no indication of that as of yet. Yeah, not yet. Yeah, I just wanted to say as well, because this has been kind of going around in my head. I'm wondering if this episode is kind of also talking about, like,
Starting point is 00:09:00 breaking generational traumas because I thought it was interesting that the curse was something that followed Alice and, like, the female members of her family forever, it seems, like four generations or whatever. And then the only way to get rid of it, was to face it, right? And so, like, when you think about generational trauma and stuff, it just takes one person to kind of break it and be like,
Starting point is 00:09:26 no, I'm not going to do that anymore. I don't think it's saying that at all. Maybe not. I was just something. I'm joking. Oh. No, I think you're probably on point there. That makes sense.
Starting point is 00:09:37 I don't know. This is something I was thinking about. Yeah. Well, anyway, that was awkward. You're like, you're at the minute, you're like, no, that's completely wrong in Char. I'm like, okay, I'll allow myself to think that. That's, yeah. No, I think you're right.
Starting point is 00:09:55 That makes perfect sense. I mean, she recognized the house almost instantly. Yeah. And she had, I thought, because, like, it very easily could have just been that she's like, that last house sucked. We're not doing that again. It could have been that. But it definitely felt like there was, like, some sort of recognition and familiarity there
Starting point is 00:10:11 that was discomforting for her. I was a tad annoyed that... What's her name of the Asian character? Alice? I was a tad annoyed that she was not the one on mic. Oh. Yeah. Like, why not?
Starting point is 00:10:24 It's her mom's song. Like, why isn't she the one singing it? Like, front and center. Well, because, you know, everyone's got to play their parts. And so she was already playing piano. I was just slightly offended. But she was singing too. Everyone was doing harmonies.
Starting point is 00:10:38 I love the harmonies. For Asians everywhere, offended. Just it. Never forgive. Never forget. For Alice Wu. Alice Wu Gulliver, according to the credits. I guess it's her husband's. They have some interesting travels together, don't they? Ha-ha. So you guys, thanks so much for hanging out. Hopefully you enjoyed that. I'm Jabby Kui. This is... Acharik.
