Starting point is 00:00:00 Senna. Pals. Do you like my festive lipstick? It's amazing. I got so excited. I was like, yay, it's Agatha Day. And I was feeling like witchy and Halloween. And I was like, wait, hold on.
Starting point is 00:00:12 I have some dark lipstick that I never wear. Let me put that on. The hills are alive with the sound of music. Woo! So, uh, we're watching Agatha all along. Here we go. Boop, pooh, boop. I'm excited.
Starting point is 00:00:28 What? What? What the hell's going on? You should see me in the crowd. Break this down for me, Kirk. I don't... Didn't the crown look very similar to what Scarlet Witch normally wears?
Starting point is 00:00:46 Oh. Gotcha. Okay, yeah, no, no, you're right. That's what... That's right. You're right. You're right. She had?
Starting point is 00:00:54 That's what she had on. Okay, now it's all... But now I'm like, okay, so there's a connection here. to Wanda. Well, obviously, because this carries on for Wanda Vision, seeing that on him. But I still don't know who he is. The implication is Wanda's son. Could be. I saw a lot of people in the comments saying, like, oh, you know, we don't know exactly what happened to her kids. It could be one of her sons. I don't know what Mephisto is supposed to be like, but maybe it's more likely that he's like a son. No, you're right, though, the crown. Oh, and then she's like, you're so much like you're a lot of. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. So there we go. We figured it out between the two of us eventually. Well, you figured it out. No, I didn't because I didn't know. I was just like, well, that looks familiar.
Starting point is 00:01:35 You know what I mean? I'm just hitching my tail to your wagon. Oh, yeah, we figured it out. No, I'm giving you the credit because I honestly, I was like, wait, hold up. The only thing that I could see that, like, I recognized was the crown that he was wearing, which is Scarlet Witches. So, yeah, now it all makes sense linking what Rio said in the last episode, the boy isn't yours. It's not her son. How did you feel about Aubrey Plaza throughout this?
Starting point is 00:01:59 episode. I enjoy her. I enjoy that she's like just having fun and like and her character is having fun as well. Like I, you know, she's that person who's like, I thrive in the chaos. Well, I love it. I can see why they cast her because her character is the type that never takes any of situation seriously. She's quirky. Yeah. I mean, I don't know what Aubrey flaws has been through in real life, but her character and this has been through so much that she just can't take any of this serious. It's like, eh, I've seen worse. Yeah. And I've come back. I'm here. exactly it's an interesting contrast to what everyone else's reaction is to the situation when they're all freaking out she's having a ball and smiling so i wonder if that's just like in her wheelhouse so it's easy or if there's a challenge to that that's a you know because there might be an impulse to do something different and she has to fight against it i don't know yeah i don't i don't know i really liked this episode i thought it was just really exciting and thrilling and obviously as someone who's like super into this stuff, you know, I'm like, ooh, it's, it's so cool. I think Catherine Hahn is doing a fantastic job as well.
Starting point is 00:03:04 Like, she's, she's really playing all the emotions, you know, like she, she was really fun when she was pretending to be Mrs. Hart, aka Sharon. You know, she really got all of the voice and mannerisms down. But like, she was going through a lot in this episode because she was confronted with the spirit of her mother, which is already horrible in and of itself, because, like, how awful must it be to know and also to experience your mother trying to kill you
Starting point is 00:03:38 and to hear that? Like, she felt like she should have killed you the moment you were born. That's an awful thing to say to a child, right? And then also... Well, that's, you know, solidifies the argument about nature versus nurture then, doesn't it? You're just born evil.
Starting point is 00:03:53 That's how it works. Yeah, exactly. which I don't fully believe but anyway hanging out with you I don't know shut up and then she had that moment where she heard
Starting point is 00:04:05 the spirit of her son you know say no and like that she you know she was really going through it there and then like in that scene with teen where she's you know where she's like oh you're so much like your mother and the way her face changes
Starting point is 00:04:20 like she's playing with so many different colors there was so many different emotions there. I think she's doing such a fantastic job. I love what she's doing. I liked her performance in the last 10 minutes a lot. Yeah. It was really great. Yeah. I thought it was quite strong. Like her acting in general, I'm kind of like always teetering. Like is that, you know, she plays the middle or whatever. She's playing all these different things. I suppose she's playing it well enough that half the time I'm like not sure how I feel about her acting, if you know what I mean. whereas but in the last 10 minutes you're absolutely right like she went through a lot of hills and valleys emotionally and mentally between fear uh excitement in terms of absorbing something the realization of what she had done and a confusion as to whether or not she has regret or uh elation over the fact that she acquired this power from murdering someone that she knew um there's a lot of things that she's doing all at the same time and then you know the apex of that is when she's looking at the teen and it's like you're just like your mom and like she's you're right, like she was going through a lot
Starting point is 00:05:24 facially that was like fascinating to watch so those last 10 minutes I was like oh yeah damn she did a bang up job there I wonder if also the thing that you're feeling where you're like I don't really know what to make of her acting throughout the rest of the episode and the rest of the series perhaps is because the character herself is wearing so many masks
Starting point is 00:05:44 you know like because she's trying she's trying to hide her vulnerability so she's hiding behind this facade of like, oh, I'm such a bitchy witch, you know, like, ha, ha, ha, and all of that. And so I think it's really interesting to see those moments where her vulnerability shines through. And you see the person behind all of the different things that she's built up. I will settle on. There are definitely fleeting moments of genius from her.
Starting point is 00:06:14 Sure. I don't always love what she's doing. But the last 10 minutes, I was like, oh, yeah, all of that stuff is great. I thought it was all very, very, very strong. I don't know what to do with the feelings of this. Like, the show left us in a very weird place. Yeah. And so...
Starting point is 00:06:30 Great cliffhanger. One of the things I had mentioned during the course of the episode was like how we're going through all these different eras just like Wanda Vision. It's like there's definitely like this sort of haiku thing going on between the two series, right? And so I'm wondering if Scarlet Witch has anything to do with anything going on in this.
Starting point is 00:06:51 The implication, I don't know. I don't know what to do with that. If he's acting alone, because the thing is he had the thing put over his mouth. The sigil, yeah. The sigil, who did that. So, like, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:07:05 Like, that's what I'm wondering about is, was he sent on his own? Was he sent just by organically? Or was he sent by Scarlet Witch? Yeah, I guess, I guess we'll find out. Yeah, we'll find out soon enough, I'm sure. but yeah that was like a really fun uh reveal um but yeah this episode like all of the stuff you're talking about with like the the different costumes and the eras i feel like it lends
Starting point is 00:07:30 itself really well to the whole Halloween theme as well like it being during Halloween and being kind of spooky and all that because it's kind of fun to watch them cosplay different eras different types of people and and stuff like that and it just makes me feel really giddy as I'm watching it. But also, like, the death of Alice, I found myself just feeling really shocked and sad. Like, I could literally feel the hairs on my entire body from, like, my feet all the way up to, like, my arms.
Starting point is 00:08:07 I was just like, what the hell is going on? I'm gutted because I really liked her. Yeah. But I guess you're, you know, the whole nature versus nurture thing again. Like if you're right and she really couldn't control herself, then perhaps, yeah, to a certain degree or maybe it's completely true, that her nature is evil. And when given the opportunity,
Starting point is 00:08:31 even though Alice was trying to save her as a friend, as a member of her coven, she's like, I'm just going to take your power because that's what I do. Yeah. Jennifer was trying to get them out of there with their lives intact altogether. And she's like, no, this is the move. We got to go.
Starting point is 00:08:50 And had they listened to her, Alice would have stayed alive. Yeah. But then maybe. But then Agatha would have. But it only opened up. The exit only opened up after, well, I guess it was after Teen helped him out. Yeah, because Teen figured it out. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:06 Because it was all about the spirits, right? It's like, I feel like the thing with the road is you can't cheat the road. Right. It is, it's a thing. that you have to do. It's a trial that you have agreed to participate in because you conjured it up and you ended up there. There is no way out except for if you complete all of the trials that the road lays along your path. You can't run away. So you have to complete it to the best of your ability. They really need a saddle for the broomsticks, for the guys, just to put the feet somewhere.
Starting point is 00:09:46 This is one of those things. It's built for witches. But, I mean, even horse riding, it's not particularly comfortable for women either. No? I mean, it... I wouldn't know. I haven't been a woman yet. Yeah, overall, the episode was cool.
Starting point is 00:10:04 I liked it. It was fun. It was over. It felt like it was over before it started. I know. It was quite quick. I get so happy every Wednesday night because I'm genuinely enjoying this show. Like, it's just, like, so much fun for me to watch this kind of witchy content.
Starting point is 00:10:22 And it's, it straddles the line between, like, being scary, spooky, exciting and funny at the same time. I guess the only thing for me is it definitely feels like a one-time watch for me. Like, I think about other shows from Disney Plus that I've really enjoyed that I would go back and watch again, like Loki, particularly season two, was really fun to watch. and or, like, those are the only two shows that come to mind immediately that I would definitely, like, want to see again. So this is like, oh, this is cool. It's, but, like, there's nothing about it that makes me want to come back, if that makes any sense. Like, once I have fulfilled my itch of, like, what happens? Once that's scratched, then I'm like, okay, cool.
Starting point is 00:11:06 I'm moving on to the next piece of content. Sure. You know what I mean? I will wait and see by the end of this season how I feel about that. But right now I'm enjoying the crap out of it. And I love that it's, like, right now in October, like, yay, I'm feeling festive, spooky. It's cute. It's fun.
Starting point is 00:11:26 And it's Marvel. So, yeah. You guys, thanks so much for hanging out. I'm Jabby Koi. This is Achara Cook. Peace out.
