Starting point is 00:00:00 Senna. I'm going to be honest with you guys. I nearly dyed my hair red. What? I really. Really? I really wanted to go all out. I would love to see that.
Starting point is 00:00:10 I actually, like, had a red jacket at one point. I had a black jacket at one point. Both have been stolen by ladies I've gone on dates with. And so I'm like, this is all I've got. This is the closest I could get to Vye. So Vye is like your spirit animal? She's who I'm rooting for. So I think we're all pulling for Vye.
Starting point is 00:00:30 Now, I don't necessarily have to dye my hair red because I think her hair turns black over the course of the season. What? I think. I could be wrong about that. Oh. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:00:38 Okay. But anyway, we are watching Arcane, season two, episode one. I'm very excited to jump into this. Chara and I just re-watched separately, the first season. And I'm sorry, it's late. So, let's do this. Arcane, Season 2, episode one. Here we go.
Starting point is 00:00:58 Staying abreast of what's going on in the first. world can feel really overwhelming. And with good reason, there's so much news and information flying around and let's face it, a lot of it is biased. But how do you know what the bias is? Well, this is where Straight Arrow News come in, who coincidentally are the sponsor of our video. Straight Arrow News is a website and app that is focused on fact-based reporting and serving you the truth. They report straight down the middle with facts, and they're reporting is brought to you without bias or spin. My favorite feature is MediaMiss,
Starting point is 00:01:35 which shows you what is being reported on each side and also what's being underreported and even not reported at all, which I think provides a really clear picture of what is going on in the world. Obviously, clicking the link does help to support our channel, so I really appreciate it every time you guys choose to do that,
Starting point is 00:02:00 Back to the video. Is that the end? We're not done yet. No, no, no. We're not done yet. Oh. What is this? Oh.
Starting point is 00:02:18 Is it Silco? Huh? Oh, I know who this is. That's not Silco. Oh, I know who this is, though. That's the guy who lived in the cave, right? Oh. Singed or something like that.
Starting point is 00:02:31 The doctor? Yeah, I don't actually remember his name. Yeah, that's the doc. But I looked at his, I looked his name up earlier and it was like singed or something like that or signed. He's awful. You know, like, when Victor went to him and was like, oh, what should I do? I'm like, why are you asking this guy? No, I agree.
Starting point is 00:02:48 He is deranged. And so I am 100% not surprised that this happened to you, Victor. How do you say that name? Singed. Singed. Okay. Yeah, he's singed. I can't read very well.
Starting point is 00:03:00 That's okay. That's okay. That's okay. He's the evil, the evil scientist. Yeah. He looks suspiciously like Silco, actually. So you're of the mindset that Mel's mother. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:12 Created that situation as an inside job so that they can show the necessity of war and all that. Yeah. That totally makes sense. I'm so certain that if that's not what's going on, I'm going to be surprised. Because she came in and like what? The last episode, the last two episodes and was like, oh, yeah, I'm just. just here for a, you know, a diplomatic visit, me, your warmongering mother from the warmongering country that has a deep vested interest in this new hex-tech thing that we could use for weapons.
Starting point is 00:03:41 And then she's talking all about like how their peaceful handling of things isn't the way it's going to go and how it's going to work. And then suddenly there's a big uprising and a terrorist attack and then you can lock down. And oh, we have the military support for an all-out invasion that your enforcers don't have the ability to do. Let's make ourselves useful. I had a question burning in my mind. The guy, the mysterious figure who helped
Starting point is 00:04:08 out Jace when he was a little kid, did we ever find out who that was? It's a magic character. He's a mage. Okay. I think. I have a sneaking suspicion who he is in the game. Okay. Did you play the game? I never played. Yeah, yeah. I played league back in high school. So my
Starting point is 00:04:24 lore on league is a little bit rusty and I don't know quite all of the characters and everything like that, but based off of like kind of the sort of vague flashes of the character design we got from who helped Jace when he was a child, I think I know who that character is. I'm curious to see if he actually ends up being a large character
Starting point is 00:04:44 or a large kind of part of the story or if he's more just kind of motivation for Jace. But we'll see. So we haven't seen Jinks. We don't know where she's at. Nope. But someone engineered that chaos that happened. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:58 And the ship that they came in on suspiciously looked very much like a jinx production. Sure. Yeah. I was going to say the ship looked distinctly Noxian, but that's just me again feeding into my conspiracy theory. Perhaps. I think it was just like because the thing, it looked like the shark mouth, which is very jincy. But I feel like she would have put like eyes and like a bigger smiley face on it. And like colors and shit.
Starting point is 00:05:24 Maybe she changed her style. We don't know. We don't know. We don't know. She could be changing things up. No need to blame Mel's mother just yet. We'll see what happens. No, but I think that that's like a very, that's a very good like guess because, yeah, it totally tracks.
Starting point is 00:05:42 It makes sense. It's like if you want the weapons, if you want to force them to use the weapons, you have to give them a situation where the counselors are going to be convinced and they're going to be like, we have to do this. And like, I think it was really interesting as well. how in this episode, in the beginning, I thought that Caitlin was going to be a lot more angry. And at first, she was very much like, no, you know, we kind of need to keep a level head. And like, she seemed to be wanting to go more in a peaceful direction.
Starting point is 00:06:15 But then when they attacked the memorial, then she was like, no, I have to take. We're going to war. Yeah, she was calling the, what are they called? the, I want to say downsiders, but the citizens of Zorn. Oh, yeah, yeah, Zon. Zorn. She was like, they're monsters. I'm like,
Starting point is 00:06:34 um, hello, do you know who your girlfriend is? Like, she's, that was rough. Well, she understands she's angry. Yeah. And she's not talking about them as a people. She's talking about the people who attack them, I think. You know what I mean? Sure, sure. But like, I, I really love how this show, like, it's an animation. And animation, as usual,
Starting point is 00:06:53 is, like, so beautiful. Like, I love the stuff that they did when we were seeing the depths of Caitlin's despair and her grief. With the, like, charcoal drawing compared to the animation. Yeah. And then, like, she's the only, like, colorful person in there. I thought that was, they're always just so creative. But I love how they really talk about some serious themes, you know?
Starting point is 00:07:16 Anyway. I agree. I agree. It's a great first episode. Yeah. Oh, my God, yeah. It's a great way to kick things off. And it takes place right after the event.
Starting point is 00:07:23 of season one. Yeah. And it's like, it's doing a good job of answering questions while also making us ask more questions. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:07:29 You know, and the, the thing that always hit me with season one is like, they know how to give you goosebumps. I don't know what it is. So many chills.
Starting point is 00:07:39 So many moments where I got chills down my spine more than any other show I have ever watched. Yeah, for real. Like, it's the opening and the ending. They know how to make
Starting point is 00:07:48 excellent bookends. Uh-huh. Or it's just like, yo! You just get so stupid excited and you have no idea why it's just you just know it's amazing it's so good um and so yeah i mean this it ended in a good spot and i'm excited to go into episode two y'all we're going to do this thanks so much for hanging out i'm jabby koie this is michael boose yeah achara cook
