Starting point is 00:00:00 Senna. And today we represent powder. At least this side does. You know what, though? I just saw the title. It says, Paint the Town Blue, and I feel... We're doing this. I feel left out.
Starting point is 00:00:13 My shirt is chaos. And then blue, abdi, abadda. Well, okay, okay, okay. Blue for powder or jinx, and then the chaos that is jinx. Exactly, there we go. It works. The inner turmoil? Is that what we're going?
Starting point is 00:00:25 Exactly. Y'all, we're watching Arcane, Season 2, episode. 4. Quatro, thanks so much for joining us. Let's just jump right into it. Here we go. Look at him. Just remember. Oh, my God. You're an all stink mall.
Starting point is 00:00:45 Smile. Good try. Don't rip her arm off. Don't rip the arm off. Don't rip the arm off. He recognizes it. You think it's Vander? It might be Vander. It might be. It might be.
Starting point is 00:01:00 Yeah. Wow. His humanity's coming back for a footy moment. Oh, my God. Oh, no way. That's crazy town. Okay, so I had been suspecting that ever since I saw his silhouette just because of the sheer build that he has. It, like, instantly reminded me of Vando, but I was like, I'm not going to say anything right now because this might just be a crazy Achara theory that is absolutely bullshit and crazy.
Starting point is 00:01:43 You're right. It's fine. No, that was spot on. Oh, my God. See, I'm sitting here because there is, like, a crazy wolf character in the game. His name is Warwick. So I was thinking, oh, we're just leading up to the reveal of, like, Warwick and things like that. Again, I'm not like super immersed in the lore, so I don't know exactly how much those stories parallel if they're kind of blending one character into another with artistic license.
Starting point is 00:02:06 Yeah, artistic license and stuff like that. But what a reveal. Oh, my God. And the way his eyes changed back? I mean, I think. I just love Michael set up. I'm like, here's why I don't know everything. But wow.
Starting point is 00:02:19 No, but I think it's like. It's just like the internet in this day and age. You have to create all these parentheticals before you make a statement. It's true. It's true. Just in case. just in case the fans come out. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know.
Starting point is 00:02:31 Inevitably, there's going to be somewhere out there, someone out there who has way more knowledge of the League of Legends lore than I do, and you be like, well, if you just read this thing, I'm actually, I'm actually, you know. Like, it makes total sense, and I saw this coming from a mile away. So, like, I get it, I understand.
Starting point is 00:02:48 That's great. I was convinced he was going to be another character, and so the reveal that he is Vander is so, I'm glad Vander's back. And, like, I kind of, I mean, Frankenstein. That's an interesting conundrum and an interesting situation
Starting point is 00:03:05 because it's going to be dealing with matters kind of like what Jinks is. He's literally a monster. Yes. But he's also still got his humanity in there. And that kind of inner turmoil, like, I can't even imagine. Well, yeah. And I mean, it's a way more interesting route to take, I think,
Starting point is 00:03:22 for the show, which, as we know, doesn't really do everything exactly. the same as the game right but like it's so much more interesting because now yeah we have a favorite character back but he's not the same anymore and like how do we deal with that and also like what are his new powers i guess and like what is he going to be able to do or not do going forward i just wonder what vander's hope is like yeah to me to me a person in that kind of situation just wants to be taken out like old yeller probably i'm going to be i'm going to be entirely honest i and i think i said this at the end of like the first three episodes of the first season arcane, I was like,
Starting point is 00:04:00 Vander's going to be back. The way they had him die and like the way he ended, I was like, I was expecting Vander to be back. And then when he didn't come back anywhere in season one, I'd just kind of written him off at that point. Like he's just, okay, they fridged him. I mean, not really fridged him. He had an arc and he was developed as a character.
Starting point is 00:04:20 But, you know, his death motivated the rift between Jinks and Vi and was like a large kind of kickoff of the whole turmoil in Zon, at least in the first season, right? I thought if he was going to come back in the first season, he was going to come back as a different character
Starting point is 00:04:36 who's also like a monster and he kind of elicited in his transformation in that final appearance of Vander in the first season. So it's kind of interesting that they're kind of doing what I thought was going to happen
Starting point is 00:04:49 but I didn't see it coming because they're doing it in a different way than I could have predicted. Right. Yeah. I mean, we all knew that that was going to, I don't know, like, that was crazy. I'm just, I have, I agree, I just have a lack of words here.
Starting point is 00:05:03 I'm just kind of, like, floored at that. I didn't see it coming that it was Vander. Like, when you said it, I'm like, that's a good possibility. You're like, Atara, you're Cocoa Puffs. They had a close-up of him, and I'm like, well, it doesn't really look like Van der from that angle. He just looks like a monster to me, which goes in line with that character, uh, synch. You know, I thought maybe it was a mutation of some kind, unless that other creature died.
Starting point is 00:05:25 and I forgot. Right, yeah. I think the ones he found in the cave or whatever. Yeah. I thought it was a mutation of that, just like taken to another level. It looks like he had the heart or something of it, right? Yes, he did have the heart of it.
Starting point is 00:05:37 Yeah. Okay. In like a machine and they kind of set up that he had killed and, like, scrapped four parts, whatever creatures he'd found in the cave. So next episode is going to have to kick off with Vi then, because we didn't get a single piece of Vi. But you know what?
Starting point is 00:05:52 And Jace. Yeah, exactly. So there's like some main characters that we need to bring back in the next two episodes. But what I've been really enjoying about this show, and I think I said this in the previous episodes, is that the characters are so interesting. And like in season one, I really hated Savika and like, you know, she's a bad person and like she's a bad guy. I don't like her. Yeah. And then, you know, we were kind of like, oh my God, jinx is, jinx is.
Starting point is 00:06:24 You know, she's bad. She's an antagonist. And then here they've turned it around. And it's like, no, she's turned into this, like, Messiah-like character. She's providing hope for the people. She's a symbol of unity for Zorn. And they're coming together. And now I'm all like, screw you pilt over.
Starting point is 00:06:47 I'm teen Zorn right now. Get out of here, high and mighty rich folks. Well, she also has the more interesting story going right now. Right now, yes. There's not a lot going on with Kiramon just yet. No. I mean, she's just in vengeance mode and she's trying to hunt down Jinks. But there was this interesting part where what's her name, Mel?
Starting point is 00:07:05 Mel's mother was in the room talking to Kiramon, who was like looking at Jinks's picture, right? And it almost looked like the mad Jinks in the thing was like a reflection. Yes, that shot was really, really cool. I liked that. And it is kind of speaks to how, like, thin the line we walk. between, like, being a hero and being the villain we're trying to chase. Absolutely. Is?
Starting point is 00:07:29 Yeah, I'm wondering if Karamon's going to become, like, more villainous as the show goes on. Well, she's certainly headed in that direction. Yeah. But in that same scene where Mel's mother is talking to Caitlin, she turns around and, you know, you have that kind of double focus shot that they were doing. Yeah. And it looked like Caitlin was beginning to at least feel like, oh, I'm slipping and becoming in her.
Starting point is 00:07:54 Like there seems like Caitlin is kind of at war with herself Of do I want jinx above all else Or do I want to do what's right for Piltover? Well, the show is all about duality Yeah, exactly. And so it's just constantly dealing with that Whether you're dealing with two characters Or you're dealing with inner duality
Starting point is 00:08:14 Like even now with the reveal of Vander, it's like that's a crazy duality to be dealing with Yeah, yeah, you know. Go ahead. No, and also, I mean, like, I guess this isn't really duality, but I really appreciate it. Way to take the ball and move. Oh, sorry.
Starting point is 00:08:29 Do you want to continue talking about duality? No. Because we can. No, but like I was just. The duality. End of video discussion. Hall. You.
Starting point is 00:08:39 Anyway, no, I was just thinking about how much I appreciate Isha, not just because like she's super cute and all. But I think to what you said in while we were watching, Michael, like she finally is understanding what it is like to be a big sister, you know, to care for someone. That changes you. It does. It changes you. It's a whole different dynamic because when you've been the younger sister, you're the one
Starting point is 00:09:05 that's constantly being looked after and you're protected in a way. And so now she's kind of stepping into Vye's shoes. And I think it'll be really interesting how maybe that might inform her relationship with Vi going forward. Who knows? Yeah. So you're going to have to pop on another one. after a little Mikella.
Starting point is 00:09:25 I'll get right on it. He's not doing the popping. His wife is. I'm sure I'll be able to convince my wife to go through nine more months of that. That'll be fun. So I looked it up just to verify it because I knew it, it's one of those things
Starting point is 00:09:40 where I knew it in my mind and my heart but I feel stupid. What does I say it out a lot? I'm not certain. Isha does mean doctor in Japanese and I wonder if that was just like, they just like the name. Isha is a very pretty name, I think.
Starting point is 00:09:51 But I do wonder if they chose. I was that deliberately because maybe she's sort of like the doctor for powder. Mending and like mending the relationship between powder and by. Or just powder within herself. Okay, okay, okay. You know, powder feels like she's really gone through an evolution. Yeah. With, you know, having this young Padawan at her side.
Starting point is 00:10:09 Yeah, who is she now? Because if Jinks is dead and she hasn't been powder for a long time. Mm-hmm. I mean, like, there's something about that. Jinks. Jinks. Jinks. Pou jinks.
Starting point is 00:10:19 Pou jinx. Jynster. You'll work on that one. but there's that moment in the cells where, or the cell, I should say, where all the people are coming out that are her followers. Yeah. And they're putting their hand on Jinks for the first time. And it's that like mezzanic presence, right?
Starting point is 00:10:36 Yeah. And that does something to Jinks. That's very interesting. And like they do so well with the facial expressions and stuff like that because you see that it's like evolving her even to another level again. And it's doing something to her. I can't quite perfectly articulate it, but like it changes you because she's being seen by these people for the first time and recognized in a different way than she's ever been before.
Starting point is 00:10:56 Yeah, perhaps it's like a sense of really understanding the responsibility that being that type of figure might have. She had this one little tiny responsibility to all these people. Yeah. Yeah. We're like, oh, crap. Wow. The game has changed. Truly. Anyways, you guys, on to the next episode. Thanks so much. I'm Jabby Koi. This is Michael Boose. And, uh, Achara Cook. You were going to say peace out, weren't you? I was going to say peace out. It's fine. I'm just like two steps ahead. head. Peace out.
