Senna.
Pals.
On to the next episode of Arcane Season 2, this time episode 5.
This is Blisters and Bedrock.
Thanks so much for joining us.
Let's get into it.
Here we go.
I can't let you leave.
I'm sorry you feel that way.
I'm sorry, too.
What are you going to?
Yep.
Oh, my God, he splattered him.
Ew.
Oh, God.
How far is that getting?
you, though. I mean, you're dealing
with something beyond your understanding. Yeah, right?
Beyond comprehension. He's all knowing he's
omnipotent. Wow.
We don't know. We don't know yet.
Okay, dokey. Well,
well, Garsh. Well,
we'll garsh.
Wow. How do you wrap this up?
I don't know. I don't know. They're setting up
so many things. Like, the last three episodes
it'd better, like, be a feature length
each. Because I don't, there's
so much going on. I don't know
how we're going to wrap it up.
Well, they managed to wrap up Breaking Bad somehow, so they can wrap this up.
I guess that's fair.
I guess that's fair.
Because I was having the same feeling watching Breaking Bad.
I was like, how do you get this all done in the next two?
Oh, they did it.
Okay.
Wow.
Wow.
You guys managed.
Okay.
Great.
I mean, there's, what, four more episodes to go?
Four more episodes, yeah.
So, you know, we can.
But it just feels like a lot of what they're showing feels like stuff that you would typically
spread out over the course of seasons.
Sure.
And like, you know, this is, we've got four episodes left.
So, but to be fair, with season one, they jump forward what would typically be covered over seasons.
That's true, sure.
Yeah.
Over two episodes.
So it's not unlike the show to explore things like that with that kind of ambition.
I'm like, I have so many questions.
And, but that was such a touching moment with, you know, the family reunion.
Oh, my God.
Yeah.
I was, I was kind of sensing that from you.
And I'm like, no, what the fuck?
Michael never cries.
It happened.
Mark it down.
Very rarely.
Very rarely does Michael.
cry. I have cried so much in front of this man watching movies. And I'm like,
just shut the fuck up. Mike, I'm having a moment here. Stop. Yeah, no, but I think it got all of us.
I mean, it's been getting to me, but that's no surprise because anything that kind of deals with
family and like dads and moms and whatever. I'm always going to cry. But like, man, that was so
beautiful and I think it just really speaks to this idea of the very human desire of wanting
to leave the world a better place for our children and like you see how Vander and Silco
used to be young and full of dreams and ideals and then you see what we've seen how in
season one that became corrupted and like how what Jinks is talking about about how like
if only he'd seen that letter
if things had worked out differently
then it would be different
you know like you really get that sense of like
anyone can be anything
it's like what we've been talking about it's like you can be the villain
you can be the hero you can
you know at any moment in time
just depending on the different decisions that you make
I have a dumb question
did it was the show as a show ever overtly stated
who I and Jinx's parents are
besides the mom
We saw them die as silhouettes.
Okay.
Yeah.
We did see two people die.
Yeah.
Vander has only ever talked about their parents.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So, and he, when, when their mom said that she was pregnant, he asked, did you tell, and I miss the name.
Yeah.
Did you tell X, Y, Z person?
Yeah.
So I think, I think he's, he's not the dad.
Did they actually say the name?
Yeah.
He said a name.
name. Yeah. I'm fairly certain he said a name. Yeah, the name was said.
Really part of my plan, but I guess that's everything when you're living week to week.
What did Connell say? Connell.
Connell. Yeah. Who's Connell? Her husband? Her partner, her boyfriend.
Did we ever meet a guy named Connell? I don't think we've ever met a guy named Connell. No.
All right. So we'll see. That's just another question now.
I don't think it's important. I think what's important is that that she's... I don't think you can say that with this show. Everything is important.
or right now right like from what we're seeing with what they've shown us what they've chosen
to show us it's like clearly uh silco and vander cared about her yeah like who knows right and so
it kind of makes sense of why they cared about the kids so much it's because like they made
a promise to her to look after her child and then and to make the world a place that her children
could live in happy. Yeah. Yeah. So it just, it's one of those cool things that really helps us to
understand the characters and their motivations from the season prior. Speaking of characters
and the depths of them, if I were to ever encounter a cosplay, accurate cosplay of Vi in real life,
I might just propose on the spot. That might be the end of it. Oh, no. That's it. That's your favorite type of girl.
That's my take.
That is...
Episode 5.
Jabby Coet's, taste, and women.
I'd be like, blisters in bedrock.
Period. Let's go.
Blisters in Bedrock.
I will burn the world so that your child has a good place to be.
So basically, you're just into a girl who would not be into you.
I would be dressed up as Kiramon.
You'd dress up as Caitlin.
You'd specifically perpetually be cosplaying Caitlin just for her.
If I clean shave and put on long blue hair, you'd be confused too, man.
you're making me feel things
that I didn't know I was going to feel today
Jeepers
Just try to set aside the muscles
I may be
I may be a bit
More muscular
Anyway
Yeah
Oh my God
I think I liked her
I like her new look
It's pretty cool
Yeah it's cool
It is a cool look
You did mention at the top of
Episode 1
That her hair turns black this season
And I just sort of kind of wrote it off
is like, oh, maybe it's a stylistic choice
that they did in the trailer or something,
and now here we are.
Yeah, well, when I was looking up her hair color,
like it popped up in a Reddit feed or something.
Oh, you got it spoiled.
Yeah, well, they saw it in the trailer.
Oh, okay, that's fair.
That's fair, that's fair, that's fair.
Yeah, but I, it's crazy.
Everything that happened in this episode.
Well, yeah.
Oh, my God, yeah.
And the stuff with the doctor as well, right?
Singed, yeah.
Singed.
Like, I just love how the show,
while it is, you know, super fantastical,
and magical and action-packed at its heart
it's about love and family
and I think that's something that is so easy
for so many of us to relate to
and so like you understand
like where singed is coming from
because all of the things that he's done
all of the terrible horrible experiments
and everything that he's ever done
is just so that he can save his daughter's life
very Frankenstein
very very very frankenstein
What happens when you play God, it doesn't go well.
Well, I mean, that's kind of been Victor's arc in a way, too.
He was messing with the Hextech and playing God because he wanted a cure for himself, right?
Like, we all try and utilize these powers and these things that we create for the betterment of ourselves.
And, like, to a certain extent, Victor also wanted to give Hextech to the people.
And Jace kind of, like, they butted heads in that way.
But, you know, Victor was, like, used the.
Hexcore on himself.
He experimented on himself, which is something that, like,
Singe did as well.
And it's that corruption of, like,
I want to make technological breakthroughs at any cost that, like,
Heimerdinger has been warning against this entire time.
Right.
So they've all melded into a singular being?
Kind of.
Well, I kind of figured that that might happen,
especially with what happened with the girl the very first time when she touched Victor.
And then he was kind of seeing her.
And so when I saw him start to cure people, I was wondering, like, are there going to be any ramifications to that?
It's a hive mind.
Yeah, because now they've touched him and they've connected with him.
And so we see that he has control over them.
It does have that sort of, you watch Terminator 1 and 2, right?
Yeah, I've seen Terminator 1.
It does have this sort of sky net feeling to the whole thing.
Yeah.
Of like, it's going to resolve everything by murdering everybody.
you know
yeah right
his massive motivation
is humans
are detrimental to themselves
and a harm to themselves
so I'm just going to get rid
of all of their consciousness
and destroy everything
so we can rebuild it
in a unified image
I'm protecting you
by getting rid of your individuality
yeah at the time of this release
your Terminator 1 reaction
will be out
and the Terminator 2 reaction
will be out the following week
if I'm not mistaken
if things go according to plan
fingers crossed
yeah
Sorry.
Oh, no.
I just wanted to talk about Mel, too.
Oh, well, yeah.
So, okay, I was going to ask a question about that.
So she is wrapped up in a web of her sister's stuff.
Is that what was going on there?
No.
Well, she did call her sister, right?
So, yes, she is a sibling.
Did you cash that?
I did.
I did.
It was sort of like a one of us kind of.
I interpreted it as a broader, like, she is somehow genetically related.
to potentially the people of the Black Rose,
but she inherited some sort of power
that, like, they're coveting or something like that.
I may be reading too much of it too.
Well, that might help explain why she was alive.
But yes, yes.
You know?
I think that would explain.
Because she, what the brother, who is not her brother, really,
said was that the mom had a love child.
And so I immediately was like, oh, it's her.
Yeah, yeah.
But, yeah.
So I guess now they've found.
her and her mother had been trying to protect her all this time and maybe that's why she sent
her away and all of that and it's it's finally catching up i can't wait to find out like how much of
this was planned in all the way in advance and how much of this was discovered by the writers
after they were writing yeah like because it almost makes me wonder you know when when uh this is a
weird comparison but when um j r tulkin wrote lord of the rings he was writing about the um the guy the cloaked guys
who were looking for the hobbits.
The ring rate.
And initially the way he wrote them
was they were in white cloaks
and he's like, well, and they're in black.
And that completely changed everything.
And that took the story
in an entirely different way.
In a new direction.
It's like, okay, what if Mel survived?
What is that?
How do we get that?
And then it takes the story
in this whole other direction, right?
I have a sneaking suspicion
because of how meticulous
and we talked about it
with like the blood handprint
and like they never do anything
in this show for nothing.
Right.
No small detail is ever overlooked.
I have a sneaking suspicion this has been their plan all along
And they've just been like planting seeds
Okay
That's my thought because again the care and time and thought that goes into the story of this show
Yeah
Leads me to believe that like absolutely nothing was left a chance
Maybe when they were like finding the whole arc of it and writing it out at the inception of season one
Yeah
It was like oh what if we have this and what if we go here that I'm sure there was a lot of like
brainstorming brain blast but I think
that they are so precious
with all the little details that they use
that there is no way that they didn't already
have this planned in season one.
You know, for a long time, scientists wondered if the
earth, if the universe was going to
shrink, but they've discovered
it's expanding and it's just accelerating
in its expansion. And this season
feels the same.
Like, it's
expanding so fast. I'm like, I'm having a hard time
keeping up with you. Because it's like
it's just like hitting all this different shit
all at once, to the point that you can't even
have all the characters in a single episode.
Nope. Right, yeah. Just trust the process.
Yeah, it's pretty well. And I'm expecting
that the last three episodes, action is going to be
absolutely insane. Oh, my God. Yeah. Because it
really does kind of feel like they're saving it. Like,
a lot of these episodes are more concentrated on story and
character, story, and it's like inferring the action
more than showing you the action or displaying it in such a way
that isn't as like costly in terms of animation time.
Right. You know what I mean?
With the beautiful tabloes, yeah, the slow-moes, yeah.
It's like it's just getting the idea across so we can keep moving the story forward.
And I feel like the action in the last three episodes is just going to be off the walls.
Yeah.
So I'm excited.
I'm looking forward to it.
I'm assuming that's what's going on.
But we got one more episode to cover for this round.
You guys, thanks so much for hanging out.
I'm Jabby Kui.
This is Michael Boos.
Acharak.
Peace out.
