Cinepals - BACK TO THE FUTURE PART II Reaction & Review!
Episode Date: March 8, 2024Kristen and Hayley continue their time traveling journey with this reaction to Back to the Future Part II (1989), which picks up right after the original sci-fi comedy film! This time Marty McFly (Mic...hael J. Fox - Teen Wolf, The Secret of My Success, & The Frighteners), and his good friend Doc Brown, played by Christopher Lloyd (Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Addams Family, & The Mandalorian) must travel to the future to save Marty's kids, but while the DeLorean might fly now, there's gonna me no shortage of bumps along the road as they quickly discover this mission's endangered the past! This film is directed by Robert Zemeckis (Forrest Gump, Cast Away, & The Polar Express) and again stars Lea Thompson (Some Kind of Wonderful, Caroline in the City, & Switched at Birth), Crispin Glover (Charlie’s Angels, Alice in Wonderland, & American Gods), and Thomas F. Wilson (The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, The Heat, & DC’s Legends of Tomorrow). Sina. Pals.
What's up, everybody? It is Kristen St. Zepinot, joined by Ms. Haley.
I waved. I forgot your last name. Seat. Seat.
And what's up, guys, again? It's Chris and Sepspeano, joined by Ms. Haley's Seed. I knew this.
For some reason, I can't get my shenanigans together. We are back with Back to the Future Part 2.
Let's get going. Okay. All right.
That was a wild ride.
This was a lot to take in.
It was a wild one.
The first one was already wild, and this one just, like, elevated that.
I felt like the first one I absolutely adored and loved.
The second one, the moment we went into the future.
2015.
I didn't like it.
I was like, oh, no, oh, no, no, no.
They're destroying this right now.
Why are we doing this?
When 15 was a little rough.
Like, the technology.
wasn't. I thought that aspect was cool, but, like, I don't know why all of the characters were, like, so over the top, like, Griff and everybody. I was like, whoa, you guys got to calm down a little bit here. Yeah. It was, like, a little bit too corny and, like, not so true to the original plot I felt, like, or, like, the acting and, like, storyline-wise. So I was kind of bummed out, and then I was like, oh, they just destroyed it. They decided to take their power back. And, and then I really started loving what they,
did like what they started doing with
the whole. Dark alternate
reality was really scary.
It was great. I like that
just because Biff got money
the whole world went down.
It was like this man,
he's awful.
It was really fun though.
No, it was a lot of fun. I loved
after we got out of the future
and we went back in time and kind of like
did that whole like it was fun
to relive those moments.
Those moments that we loved and adored
so much, but I think they're setting
it up really well
for the one, the third
back to the future.
So I'm like, now I see
what you're doing. I actually, I
think the third one's going to be better than
number two. Okay, okay. I think
it's going to be a lot better than two. Okay. I was kind
of sad. They didn't utilize Jennifer a little bit
more, but at the same time,
I do love the Marty and the doc
the doc combo.
And I, and I'm excited for number three
because I feel like they're going to incorporate
Doc and Marty even more so together as a unit and as one that I think it's going to just be it's going to be like too much too much like oh I love it I did love Lorraine in the in the future though she was actually kind of hilarious I did like Biff like more in the future like the old Biff the old Biff and old Lurine when they like demonic world of Biff I did like they're in that they got married yes I all that I think
thought that was pretty funny, especially when Marty's just, like, staring at her chest and he
couldn't, like, look away. That, I thought, was hilarious. She's like, you want it these. I'll
give them back. Like, I don't know, she just plays such a great, like, drunken, bizarre, mother
character. You can't help but like her. Yeah. The only one I didn't like was, you know,
the future. That's it. Like, everything else. I love that they finally were like, all right,
I do think it's always interesting how far, though, yeah, they think that will advance within, like, a
30 year time.
Like, that was way advanced.
Like, they truly believe
2015 was going to be flying cars.
It's going to be all this craziness.
Oh, we still think that's going to happen, though.
Yeah, but, like, we're closer now than people.
We are closer, but, like, we did not achieve the level that they thought we were going to.
They're like, this is it.
But that's what's so cool about Back to the Future is, I feel like Back to the Future is so
way ahead of their time.
Like, they were thinking way ahead more than any other film.
we've seen that goes into the future.
Yeah.
That's what makes this so wild.
And I feel like if we would have watched this, during the time frame, it came out.
Oh, yeah.
We would have been so impressed and so, like, in awe.
And, like, I feel like they're probably a big part of, like, all that creativity that came out.
Yeah.
It makes sense why everyone was, like, this is a cult classic.
Oh, yeah.
Loves this film.
Oh, it's so cool.
It's fun.
It's spontaneous.
It's creative.
I feel like it's, like, very stimulating to the mind.
And you can't, like, I actually, like, I would have loved to be a part of this project
in some shape of form because it is just that cool.
One thing I think that's really cool, because you're talking about, like, the third one,
is they put, like, peppering of idea of the Wild West throughout.
Like, they had, like, they showed us a Wild West scene.
They mentioned that Biff's great-grandfather in the Wild West.
They did, like, that random shot.
Like, they didn't explain anything else.
They just put that in there.
And I was like, that's kind of odd to just be like, it started in the Wild West.
And then they did little things like that throughout.
So, and then like, right, we saw that the machine switched the year because he's like, oh, I have to fix that.
So that's obviously why he's maybe stuck there.
Yeah.
So maybe that's why he went back there because he's like, yeah, we got to fix some things.
Yeah.
So I like that it's like, we were, we got like, it didn't come out of nowhere that they're going there.
I like that it's like leading us in and we're, now we're excited for that.
They're like those little clues.
Yeah.
You know that?
And then you have to like go back and oh.
and sometimes it's going to be like a hit or miss
but I love that you and I are actually
we are for the most part catching on those little things
because I feel like normally sometimes we're like
and we're like hold up there's a reason
I like that there's a reason for everything in here
and I think that it keeps you on your toes
but I really enjoyed it I enjoyed it yeah
I enjoyed the film yeah I think the first one still is
my favorite yes but I'm excited to see the third one now
oh 100% I was worried
with the direction we were going.
I'm so glad they changed it up.
First one is definitely also my favorite still.
But I did enjoy this after all.
And it was fun.
I'm excited for the third one as well.
