Starting point is 00:00:00 Sina. Pals. What's up everybody? It's Chris and Sispino, joined by Ms. Haley. I haven't seen you in a while. I know. This is nice and refreshing. And today we're watching Back to the Future from 1985. Yeah, the first one of three. Wasn't even alive.
Starting point is 00:00:17 Wasn't even a thought. All right. Wow. I enjoyed that. That was a fun ride. This is very lovable. Yeah, very, um, cringy at times.
Starting point is 00:00:35 Very cringy with the mother. That's, like, that's just like... The worst nightmare. Yeah, literally. Like, I can't even imagine. Imagine you're going back in time. It's your father. That would be...
Starting point is 00:00:45 Yeah, exactly. It's so cringy. And it's like, what? Like, I can't even imagine. Um, but he did a great job with, uh, trying to figure out how to navigate that. Although I do think at times he should have just, like, disappeared or something. Like, so that way, like, she wouldn't see him.
Starting point is 00:01:06 And then they'd be like, oh, yeah, him. I like him. I like him. Try to win her over. But now he has a much better life. Yeah. Yeah. A grade all around. And, yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:15 This film is very adored by many. And I see why. Yes. A hundred percent see why. This film made my face hurt. And I couldn't stop smiling. It's so. precious and I'm
Starting point is 00:01:31 obsessed with the doc's relationship with Murray with Marty I mean Marty no Murray Marty with Marty I'm like obsessed with their relationship the energy they both brought to this together was so good so I guess
Starting point is 00:01:47 they are he's like kind of like his lab assistant I would say I mean they're friends but like he he's there like with the camera he's there with whatever he needs and stuff like so I would assume that like he's like that's how they met each other is he was interested in something in that type of science world and then that's how they met because it doesn't really explain that but that's what i'm assuming is that yeah they don't explain that but i would i mean that's that's the only thing i can really think of the doctor he knew in the future he was gonna know marty so maybe he purposely seeked him out so they become like friends true because he knew that well now well now after he went back in time yes see now we know we're like ooh okay uh that like that type of relationship that was wild. It's like you go from not knowing them and then all sudden
Starting point is 00:02:32 you go back to the future, forward to the present. And like, that type of bond would be like no other. And I think they execute that really well on this. They did a really good job making the mother and the father look older. The age makeup was great. The makeup was really good. Yeah. Yeah, it was really, really good. Better than a lot of makeup you see now. It was pretty good. It was pretty good. I'm not going to lie. I like how the doctor looked the same, like pretty much the same as back then to now. He's like, man, can I ever get here? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:04 No, no. I like the, you see throughout the movie that, like, little subtle things that, like, about characters that you then understand in the future because you watched how, like, like what you were just talking about the, the guy who ran the school. Yes. Like, he always had been like that and he always, he doesn't like that type of music because now you see why. And, like, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:03:25 I think that's kind of cool that you see the, how it happened. I'm not sure if I think that's why he doesn't like it No because this was the first time that he went back to the future But then he like went oh I really don't like that And then I think in the future maybe it goes to his brain Oh that reminds me of Ben I mean it could now But the original statement of it I don't know
Starting point is 00:03:47 Oh okay yeah yeah I get what you're saying I wouldn't say that I think it's just his age And like there is time frame of where he comes from you know It's like his parents for example that I'm sure they don't like that music. You know what I mean? It's like the generational kind of deal of like when we get older too.
Starting point is 00:04:05 I'm sure there's going to be music that comes out. We're like, dude, you guys like this? You like this? This was absolutely a great film. I love the dialogue. It was done so well. And it made me giggle. Authentically giggle throughout the whole film.
Starting point is 00:04:21 And I feel like a lot of films nowadays, I don't feel like their dialogue is as like adorably lovable and like funny yeah yeah you don't a lot of the films now are like not funny how you want it to be you just want to have a good time and just like
Starting point is 00:04:38 laugh the dad I can't believe like to know your father or mother was some type of way once upon time you know or to know like my dad's a peep and dumb yeah and that's how he met my mom's a little aggressive
Starting point is 00:04:56 She only fell in love with him because the, whatever syndrome it was, the nursing type of thing. She's a caregiver. Yeah. And so now you see in the future, though, in this new future, they actually love each other. They actually care for each other. And before they're like, oh, yeah, they don't do anything together. Yeah. Now they're doing everything together.
Starting point is 00:05:15 It's cool. I like it. Yeah. I'm in. And I'm glad Biff got what he deserved. I'm actually very interested to see where they would go from here. It sounds like they're going to 2015. Yeah, now he's bringing his girlfriend, Jennifer,
Starting point is 00:05:28 who apparently is his future wife. Which is interesting because she doesn't really know anything about this, and she just kind of got, like, thrown in there. She's got in the car and was like, I mean... Which, honestly, that's going to make them even stronger as a couple and a unit, in my opinion. Yeah, that's true. I mean, he pretty much was thrown into it, too,
Starting point is 00:05:47 so learn on the fly. Yeah, I'm hard to make fly. No, I love that this film also wasn't... It was just what it was. I wasn't trying too hard. Like, I wasn't sure. Like, you know, sometimes you watch some films and you're like, oh, you're kind of trying too hard. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:00 You know, or you're kind of like, okay, this is just kind of blah. This did not give me any of that. This gave me nothing but love. And, like, it just made me smile and giggle. And, see, like, after watching it, like, knowing that they originally filmed with a different guy. That's interesting. Like, I can't even imagine the film without Michael J. Fox in it. And it's so interesting to me that, like, we almost didn't have this film.
Starting point is 00:06:25 that it is right so i could be cool i know imagine being the guy who lost that role and to this day this is like a staple yeah and many people's like lives you know literally what started this is like his first role michael j fox and this is what started his whole entire career in his whole life and it's like whoa that almost didn't happen so that's pretty creepy i want to know who the guy was before him that's just bizarre but a great story too and then but you know i think by them doing that and Like, you said they filmed almost half of it or something. Yeah, yeah, they filmed it like a good chunk. That just kind of shows how much they, the team believed in the storyline in the film that
Starting point is 00:07:04 they're willing to sacrifice those funds to do it all over again. But I'm sure because they got to do certain parts all over again, I'm sure certain things became even stronger. Oh, yeah, for sure. You know what? You know what? That first time around, I really wish I didn't do that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:19 Let's fix it. Yeah. But I'm also sure they probably, when they filmed it that first round, like some of those solo shots they probably were able to grab and take from some of those two and they had more of an option probably which that's actually kind of cool I think about too
Starting point is 00:07:34 it's like oh this is well done I want to see the rest you guys let us know what you think in the comments I really really like this and I want to watch it again honestly I think it's so cute yeah I have the I have the DeLorean
Starting point is 00:07:50 the car the Lego set at home that I have not built it's just sitting there so now I understand it I know I'm ready to build it and there we go It's funny how you know of things Right and then when you actually see it you're like
Starting point is 00:08:03 Ah Yeah because we have like the Ghostbusters car Then we have the Delorian And we've already built the Ghostbusters But we haven't built the Delorean Well you know you go to like Universal Studios Or Disneyland or whatever And they're like oh that's the
Starting point is 00:08:15 That's the car from whatever whatever I always walk by I'm like oh cool You know I didn't really care Now I want to go oh now I get it okay that's actually really cool but before it didn't really mean anything to me I'm like yeah that's why it's been sitting in there for a while because I'm like oh we'll get to that one
Starting point is 00:08:33 you're like whatever why'd you buy it my boyfriend wanted it he was like that's the one so okay okay all right so all right now you know what now you can appreciate it more than you yeah now I understand the story that goes with it did you say did you tell him straight up like I've never watched it No, I actually didn't. How did you not tell him that after he gave it to you and, like, raved about it? I just went all right.
Starting point is 00:08:58 I would have been like, I've never seen the movie. I guarantee he would have made you watch it, but I'm glad you didn't say anything because then we wouldn't be sitting here together right now. That's true. But you go home. You make a phone call or whatever you need to do, and I hope you tell him the story right now because that's pretty funny. I'll be like, now we can build that.
