Senna.
Pals.
We're checking out Bloodsport, starring the Mussels from Brussels himself, Jean-Claude Van Dam.
Oh, wow.
I'm so ready for this movie.
I hope you guys are too.
Let's jump into it.
Here we go.
I told you, this Kumite thing is real.
I did not know that.
It is.
so that's great okay let's see what wow that's insane that's insane oh my gosh okay
who is this man wow like i knew the kumite was real but i didn't realize that this was
actually based on a real guy yeah ninjitsu oh my god i want to that's why
What we're going to do.
I want to study this now.
That's what we're going to do.
Ninjitsu for like a few weeks.
Yeah?
Yeah.
Only just because I was like, oh, ninjitsu, that's what ninjas do.
My childhood dream was to be a ninja.
And so I was like, yeah.
But oh my gosh, how cool.
Do they even have that around here?
Ninjitsu?
It's not the most popular over here.
I feel like I've never seen a dojo or whatever you call.
Yeah.
We had a.
We had a club at my university, and so I was just like, yeah, let me join for a minute, but then...
That's so cool.
Yeah, my problem is discipline.
I have none.
Well, you know.
But this was fun.
You just need to watch this every day.
Yeah, I just need to watch this every day and be like, yeah, Nenjitza is awesome.
Martial arts are great.
I just need to pick one and commit to it.
Yeah.
This was fun.
I mean, there were definitely things that were, like, maybe a little cheesy.
But overall, like, I thought it was really, really great.
And I think Van Dam is awesome, especially when he's fighting.
Like, some of his acting when he was not doing fighting stuff, I was kind of like, oh, it's not his strongest.
It's not his strongest, but obviously we're here for his moves.
And when he's, like, delivering the action and when he's acting in the action, I buy him.
100%.
Like, he's so good.
amazing
smooth
yeah
swat
yeah cool
you see why people
throw money at him
yeah it makes sense
yeah
it makes total sense
classy he's so handsome
was he
yeah
I don't notice
yeah
no I'll have to watch it again
especially
yeah that one scene
we just need a big
like
print out
you know we should replace this
with just his
his
his discipline
oh yeah
I didn't mind the cheesy
at all. It was so much
fun. The scenes between him
and Chong Li were
so palpable. Like they really
had that rivalry or whatever.
They were just like
good deal. Yeah, yeah.
Some of the choreography was really beautiful.
Yeah. So fast.
Impressed. Impressed. Hated the girl.
Yes. Yes, we hate her.
She was just annoying though.
The characters. Yeah, just the character.
Do you know what I mean?
Like, she comes in here, meets the guy,
and then thinks that she can tell him what to do
in a matter of like a day or two.
Wait, hold on.
Maybe that's just what women do.
Anyway, I don't know.
But in, I'm joking.
But in this situation, it's just like,
no, you have no right to tell him what to do.
Like, he's here doing his thing.
If you were a long-time girlfriend, then fine.
Maybe you can kind of try and talk some sense into him.
I don't know.
But just let the man do what he wants to do.
I mean, we're going into this, but I feel like if it was us, we've seen fights.
So once you're there, you understand what's going on.
Yeah.
And that's at stake.
And all the work that's poured into that discipline or whatever, they're fighting.
And you see that it's not just like, oh, I'm a brutish guy.
Yeah.
She didn't get it, obviously.
But, you know.
Do better.
Yeah, exactly.
She was annoying
But I love the bromance though
Between him and his friend
That was really cute
Unexpected
Yeah
Super cute
It was really nice
I like the camaraderie
Like the brotherly love
Between them was just really
Really refreshing
And it was just
It was nice to just see two guys
You know
Just be friends and supported
And respect each other
Exactly
They're skillable
I really like to
That they didn't make
The relationship between
His sensei and him
corny like super corny you know it was yeah like you could tell the validation was worth it it wasn't
just like a easy write-off you know like it felt really good and genuine for me yeah and the way
that they explained everything too because like at first i did have questions i was kind of like
okay so obviously we know that jean claude van dam is belgian right and so he's got an accent
can't hide that no how are you going to explain that this guy is in the
military for the U.S.
I was kind of like, okay, a little bit of
suspension of disbelief here, but then
you know, when they explained his backstory
and whatnot of like, oh, his parents
moved here and
the backstory with
how he ended up with a sense
and like everything just added
up. It all made sense and
like losing the friend who was like
a brother who was a sense's son, all of that.
I was like, yes, on board, a hundred
percent. I buy his motivation.
Yeah. Yeah. Do we know how?
he died, by the way?
I'm still in truth on that.
So I thought it was because he went to the Kumite
and then he was the guy that got killed last time
by Chong Li and the throat punch.
That changes everything.
Yeah.
And so immediately it kind of sets it up as like,
that's the guy to take out.
Got it.
So when he did, it was like satisfying on so many levels
because it's like, that's the guy that took out his bro.
That's the guy that hurt his friend.
And also that guy's a dick.
He's just a big dick.
Yeah.
Like, he needs to go.
But, like, as far as playing the villain, the actor who played him was really great.
So good.
And hinged on a great level.
And, like, amazing pet control.
Oh, my God.
But after a while, it's like, we get it.
That's, you can do that.
Yeah, like, that's pretty cool.
I would love to see behind the scenes.
Like, I'm about to go down a rabbit hole here.
Yeah.
Because it's always interesting to see the relationship between two,
physical actors like that when they have to go through choreography or a fight scene or whatever.
It's so cool to see them come together.
Yeah.
Even though they're like rivals, you know.
I would love to see how that look like.
Yeah, because I would imagine knowing nothing about this film and not having done any research
on it beforehand, but I would imagine that there would have been a lot of like very
talented martial artists working on this movie as the various different characters
because it was fun to kind of get the showcase of, like, all the different fight styles that they were showing.
Obviously, we're going to make the lead character look the best.
Of course.
But, you know, it was just fun to see all of the different styles of martial arts and movement represented in the match.
Like, it felt really cool.
Yeah.
Yeah.
This was really, really awesome.
Such a fun movie.
Anyway, you guys, let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
Any fun facts?
I love to read them.
And we will catch you next time.
I'm a Chara Cook.
This is Vivian Day.
Ciao.
