With the latest Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire coming soon, we wanted to catch up on any Kong movies we have missed to watch throughout the years, with Kristen and Haley continuing with Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019). Sina. Pals. What's up, everyone? It is Christen Svespino, joined by my co-host. Hey, we see. Today, you guys, we are doing a reaction to Godzilla, King of the Monsters. I am pro-Godzilla right now. He's restoring Earth. He's keeping them in line.

He sent them back to where they belong. And I love it. she said I am pro Godzilla right now I'm gonna have to do a lot to win me over to his side that's what I think

As of right now As of right now I don't know I okay the last time When I saw him I did like him I do I do like

I don't know He was so cool I do like Godzilla Honestly I think I like this Godzilla better than the first Godzilla I wash Okay

So I've never seen any other So that's why I'm based off this I'm like yes Go Godzilla No, I like the creatures in this one better than the first Godzilla. I saw it because I felt like he fought these bat things. Okay.

So he bought these, he fought these bat-looking things that looked like they were aliens from outer space. And I didn't feel like they really blended in too well with him. Okay. Where I feel like in this one, all the creatures did blend more. Yeah, they all seemed to the same world. Yes. Like it made more sense to me, but not only that, I feel like they took more time on. the making of what they look like in this one.

But also, I like the storyline better within the people as well. I am very upset that they killed both my doctors. The one, though, I just, I can't get over. You're like, I like her. She goes back for people. The next thing, just... I like her. Yeah, because I feel like they're the OGs.

They're the two OGs that I'm like, why would you do that? Other than you just want to hurt us. I feel like they, like, we need them for the next one. Yeah, the other, especially the, the, I don't remember what his name is in it. Which one? Oh, yeah, Dr. Ishro. He had so much knowledge. He had everything right, like, in his brain, like, how things were going to be and stuff.

And I feel like he would be very beneficial. Yes, but so was Dr. Vivian. Yeah. Yeah, Vivian. Like, what the, what, I wish we had somebody else that could have, on down. I love Dr. Mark, you know, our leading man. I loved his comeback. He just wanted to be left alone and like, you know, he's like, hey, and he came back and was like, all right, let's do this. His wife, Emma, Dr. Emma, I'm so sorry. Like, okay, you redeemed yourself at the end.

Did you deserve? Did you deserve? It's too late. In my opinion, it's too late. Like, you've already did what you did and you did not care. The only reason that you did at the very end because your daughter was on that. I don't think that she would have done it otherwise. She only went back to get her daughter, and she only ran away from there, sacrificed herself because her daughter was on the plane. I don't think she really felt the consequences of her actions.

I don't. I don't think you're wrong, but I was holding myself back because I was crying on the inside, and I was like, don't do it. I get that. Oh, my God, it was heartbreaking. I do get that. It's heartbreaking to see, like, the pain within the family and, like, doing that.

Like, I agree with that. I just, I can't, yeah, she can't be redeemed from what she did. Because I feel, it was just for selfish reasons. It wasn't truly for, oh, my gosh. You're not wrong. You know, I'm destroying all of humanity. It's a great point. At the end, she did make the executive decision to prove to her daughter that, hey, I don't want to be a monster,

and I'm going to try to redeem myself by trying to attempt to sacrifice myself in hopes of saving humanity. Okay. Human kind. Okay. That I will give her, but at the same time,

I do feel like if she was to survive, she was going to prison for life anyways. So it was almost like a, what am I going back for? I'm going to die a hero instead of you see me in jail. I don't know. That's just my take. That's my take on it.

I want to talk about Mr. Sam, Colin. Oh, you're favorite. He was the guy I was just trashing through the whole film because I'm making fun of him. You know, he was the new guy. He did win me over. With that one line. He did.

With that one line, he won me over. And then I couldn't help but like him. But throughout the thing, he was just that guy that was just irritating. You're like, dude, shut up. Shut up. Like, leave me alone. And then at the end, you're like, all right, all right. You can sit by me.

You're okay. Millie Bob Brown. Yeah, I think she's an amazing actress. Did an absolutely outstanding job as she does in all the films I've seen her in. The dad. The dad. Mr. Kyle, he's always great. Love the guy.

I didn't like when he whispered, but. Yeah, that was that far. I was like, why are you whispering? Yeah, he was, like, whispering, like, a lot in the beginning and stuff. And I wasn't, like, a huge fan of that. I wanted him to just speak normally. But other than that, I think he's great. I think he's a very attractive man.

This one I really authentically enjoyed the fighting with Godzilla and the other Titans. Yeah, it felt like an epic, but not, I like that it wasn't like cheesy. I like that it was like felt, yeah, like there's high stakes. You actually like felt like it could all happen in this world. And I don't know, it was pretty, I thought it was pretty epic for a monster movie. So it was. I really did like this one. I like this one better than the first one I saw.

Yeah, only because I felt like it was, it made more sense to me, but also. I felt like it was fun. I think the fight scenes were absolutely insane. I love the journey that we were able to go on. It was just fun. It was fun. It was exciting, but it was also like very stressful. Oh my gosh, it was.

We were sitting there going, what? No. I like that we had like we were fighting within human to human on what's the right decision, like as we always do. But it took it another, a step further to where we had more things we needed to fight within ourselves. You know, you had, like, Alan and Dr. Emma and all them. Like, I just think that sometimes scientists, they get so caught up in being a scientist. Okay. That they sometimes don't know when to back out and be like, yo, maybe we don't touch this.

Oh, no, no, we go, go, go. And then you destroy things. I get that, yeah. That's sometimes hard. And then I think with the military sometimes in, like, the government, like, we jump the gun too quickly to, like. That's what you see in all these movies. The military are like, if we just shoot. at it, that will fix it. And then a lot of times

they're like, nope, that just made things worse. They almost ended Earth because they, if Godzilla was gone Earth was gone. So Godzilla is important. I'm for Godzilla. You know, I originally

was not for these creatures and stuff, but I have to say, I am. He did win me over. I am for Godzilla. However, do I think that these creatures should be living with us together, no, not necessarily. Do I believe that maybe we should like, you know, we need to clean that up a bit? Maybe.

But now we saw that now all of the nature's coming back. Yeah. And Dr. Rick, let's just give Dr. Rick a shout out real quick. Because I love him. Okay. I think he is so great and everything he does. And like his delivery on his lines. He's a very sarcastic man.

Yes. But his delivery, I love the way he delivers his lines. and everything I've seen him in and he just kind of makes me chuckle because I'm like he could do almost no wrong no matter what he is whether he's good, bad, whatever he can't do any wrong in my

in my mind thank you for finishing that for me I love the shots where you can see how big these creatures are compared to everything else

and that was like just terrifying in itself. Like, I actually believed it. Like, I was like, I believe this is happening. Where the first one, I was like, I was struggling with the alien looking bad thing. Okay. With everything else here, I was like, I believe it. Sold. I get it. Okay.
