Starting point is 00:00:00 Senna. What is up, everyone? Welcome back. It's Achara Kirk and Kristen Steffin Zapido. What, what? Whip, who? We are watching Godzilla X Kong, the new empire. Let's go!
Starting point is 00:00:16 Ah! He's like, I'm a savior of the world! Hear me, roller! Aw, besties! I love it. I love it too. So cute. Yes. There's new management. You're only little one. He's like, ah! We're going to create a utopia. It's going to be great. I want to see them all playing in the green grass. Oh, this is so cool. I really, really like this one. I do too. I'm ready for another one.
Starting point is 00:00:50 Yeah. I hope they continue and we get more of our little baby. This one's so cute. I enjoyed it. Do you know what? I feel like they figure. out that at least for for these ones it's like we're more interested in the creatures yes so they really delivered on that front you know like we got to spend a lot of time with kong and obviously you guys know we're team kong so i'm like yeah any more time with kong is great Godzilla was badass and it was just so it felt so good to see them team up together and and fight together for once it was awesome i think so too and it's funny because like you said they they got it They now understand we don't want to see so much of the humans.
Starting point is 00:01:32 I mean, and the stuff with the humans was cool. It was just enough. I think in this one, it was a lot more structured with the humans where the other ones are kind of like broken. Like, there's a lot of scenes and parts where I'm like, I could have lived without it. Yeah. But I feel like in this one, they got it dialed down to make us even more invested. And it didn't feel like anything was dragging.
Starting point is 00:01:55 The pacing was great. Yeah. Where nothing was too slow. nothing was like prolonged to the point where you're like, okay, hurry up. Because some of the other ones, some of the fight scenes,
Starting point is 00:02:05 I was kind of like, okay, we get it. They're fighting. Like, are you going to resolve this? And it was just all about that and not much. And I feel like, and I still enjoyed it,
Starting point is 00:02:12 but not as much as I enjoyed this one. Yeah. Because it was like to the point, it had humor in more ways than one. But everything just flowed so smoothly in this one, more than any of the others in my opinion. Yeah, I think so. And it was like just,
Starting point is 00:02:27 it's so cool to get to be immersed in the world again of hollow earth and just to see all of the different creatures and they like the VFX on this looked amazing I think they were the best ones in this one yeah by far the best that we've seen yeah like so so good and and also just like the I mean this has been going on for a long time now but like with whatever they're doing the mocap or whatever being able to see all of the different emotions and expressions on all of the creatures, not just Kong and like the other apes, but even on Godzilla as well. Ammafra.
Starting point is 00:03:08 Amazing. You could see her emotions as well. Yeah. I think it definitely gave me Planet the Eighth vibes, which I think because I'm obsessed now with the Apes, even though that one just messed me up on a whole other level. I think that's what also kind of hooked me so hard. Right. But then at one point, I did forget what I was watching.
Starting point is 00:03:27 for a split second with the apes. And I was like, oh, my God, am I watching? Which version of Planet of the Apes is this? For a second, I had that thought and I was like, oh, yeah, yeah, it's King Kong. So I got a little bit like lost for a second because I couldn't stop thinking about that. But that's a good thing, though, because the Planet of the Apes movies are really strong in that regard. Like, I think with the apes and their looks and everything. and like all of the emotions that they convey.
Starting point is 00:04:00 So I think the fact that for a split second you thought you were watching a Planet of the Apes movie is actually a really good thing. Yes. I'm going to throw this out there too. Their choice of music, the soundtrack, was so on point. Spot on.
Starting point is 00:04:15 Like some of it seemed kind of like, a little too, like, cut off for me. But because of the choice of the song they chose right after, it kind of like, it was kind of like comical. but also like very enjoyable but bad as to where I also at one point I felt like it was almost like I was watching like when I was like younger Power Rangers or or something something of that nature of like oh shit's going to go down we're going to kick your ass like you know that war like you're like yeah yeah da da da da da da da da and I'm like and you just you want to go ah and do some scream oh shit it was great it's really fun though I think it's like a party movie you know what I mean it just feels like yeah this is fun and then like the director Adam Wingard definitely understood the assignment like those those iconic moments when they all come together the team up it's like oh yeah so satisfying okay okay this is a perfect example you know that song that comes on every time Thor shows up ah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah That's what I felt. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:24 Like, you know, you're like, this sucks, but what? And you get so hyped. Yeah. And then you're like, ha, ha. You're like, oh, you better run because you're going to die. And I'm like, ah, let's go. Like, I felt like I was like ready to, I was so psyched on running into war to give my life for this cause.
Starting point is 00:05:43 And I'm like, I'm going to die and it doesn't matter. Because, ah, yeah. But you're like, damn, damn. damn we won though we kicked your ass I know we lost a few but yeah it's okay anyway that's how I felt this is how that made me feel all of that I loved it 10 that music you're talking about is Wonder Woman no it's a knot it's on Thor's the song and he comes with his hammer and goes don't don't don't don't and then he starts killing everybody yeah mr. Jabs it's the way you're singing it sounds just like
Starting point is 00:06:20 the Wonder Woman I don't know the The Wonder Woman song. Okay. I haven't seen that one yet. She's a Wonder Woman herself. Yeah. Goodbye. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:32 This is our review. Yeah. And you know what else? What? Jabby's the guy in there that's trying to ruin the world by saying, me, let me film it and show everybody. You know, the first time I watched Brian Tyree Henry's character,
Starting point is 00:06:47 the blogger guy. Initially, I was like, he's a little bit annoying oh okay but this time round i liked him i liked him he was he was like the perfect blend of comedic relief like he found that really good balance i think that was the one before this one yeah was the one before the one where godzilla and um king con the face off yeah that's the one yeah yeah i didn't i feel the same i didn't really care for his character in that one yeah i was kind of like dude you're a little bit annoying and like yeah i don't know what the purpose of of having you here but in this one i didn't mind him he was like he was like he was
Starting point is 00:07:20 actually delightful in this one. I thought he was really cool. When they first brought him in, I was like, ah, not this guy again. And I was glad they didn't bring back the other people. Yeah. Because they didn't do it for me at all in the last film. Honestly, did not miss Millie Bobby Brown. No. I don't know if that's a hot take or not. But like, actually, I liked who they had for this movie. And I kept it simple enough that it was chaotically beautiful. Yeah. And I love the, um, the new realm. yeah and i love that everybody found their people it was like it was it was just really good and of course we love we love little little baby con dude that that one was like a little spicy little and you're like kill it i was like no just spank it no i didn't want it to die i'm all for a good spanking
Starting point is 00:08:06 oh spicy saucy um no i didn't want him to die i just wanted him to get whacked around a little bit and get some like scents whacked into him yeah he was like sweet swinging this kid. I'm just thinking of all that brain damage. He's doing whacking them. And like, so I was like, no, I just, you know, a little, a little child abuse is good. What am I saying? I'm here for it. And I'll beat my kid. No, just going to beat your kids. Hey, if my kids are being a shithead, I'm going to spank it. I'm all for spankings. And more ways than one. You heard it here first. And on that know, you guys, thank you so much for joining. us for Godzilla
Starting point is 00:08:51 X-Cong. This was Achara X-Christin. And we'll see you next time. Love you. Bye.
