Pals!
We saw your comments.
We have not watched Invincible Adam Eve yet.
We will be watching it after we watch episode six.
Speaking of which, let's get into it.
Thanks so much for joining us again.
Here we go.
It's too bad he can't take a direct line.
He's got to go through all this to get there.
Well, he's like different realities, right?
Different timelines.
Dang.
Is the actual end?
Lots of surprises in this episode.
So how was that thing hiding inside of his body?
It went inside his mouth and it just hung out.
We just have to assume that it was, it was like biting its time,
had some sort of instinct to hide in there until the right moment.
Was it smaller when it came out of his body and then expanded?
Yeah.
I would imagine that it could just maybe adjust its size and just be like super teeny tiny.
or maybe it's like one of those things like the immortal jellyfish where it can reverse its age or something
and it turns into a baby that's terrifying because like and we don't even know how they reproduce
if they can just like asexually reproduce or something then they can just replicate form other
baby sequins and then take over earth because most people are not impervious to them sure
we don't exactly know the properties of these things and how they operate quite yet it's not good though
Yeah.
When they started off the episode with all the action, I was like, okay, I'm imagining this is going to be more of a drama episode because they front-ended this with like the excitement and whatnot.
And so we're going to get more into the nitty-gritty of the interpersonal elements of the show and character stuff, which I actually enjoyed.
I like it.
Yeah, I enjoy that aspect of the show.
There was some moments where it was trying my patience a tad where I'm just like, we know where this is going.
Come on.
But I thought that Amber and Invincible were going to break up much sooner in the episode.
I didn't think it was going to be prolonged where they're still kind of humming and hawing about what to do,
which there's a part of me that appreciates because it feels more realistic.
It does feel more real.
You wouldn't just jump straight to the, well, let's just get this done.
There's that very human element of like, I don't necessarily want to break up there.
Right.
Or I'm not sure if that's the right thing to do.
Maybe we can fix it still, blah, blah, blah.
Yeah.
I do appreciate that aspect of it.
It does seem inevitable that they would end up separating and he'll end up going with Adam.
Maybe because we expect that they're going to go the eye.
opposite direction and they're all this you know abracadabra with the story is just to make us think
it's headed towards a breakup when really they're going to try to find a way to work it out by the
end of the season yeah probably i mean we can't be the only ones that ship him and eve i think that this
by design it's almost like a ross and rachel situation where it's like they want you to want
that but everything is sort of pointing towards that's what's going to happen
eventually yeah no well that maybe not maybe it's just
They're going to pull the rug out from under your feet and be like,
psych, it's really amber and invincible.
They're going to try to find a way to work to make it happen.
You know, there were some comments last time where after I said,
oh, he doesn't deserve her because she's so understanding.
Yeah.
Right?
And they go, well, actually, she's done like a whole 180 because her character was infuriating before.
And as soon as I read those comments, I was like, actually, I remember that.
And I remember being infuriated with her.
You know, it's been a while from watching her before.
The fact that they've gone this far into the situation and she's still like not 100% certain as to what to do.
There's a small part of me rooting for them.
There's a small part of me.
Yeah.
There's a small part of me rooting for them because it's like relationship.
They said it in the show.
Relationships are freaking hard.
I don't know.
I don't know, man.
I don't know.
I'm just going to hold out some optimism there until the show says otherwise.
But that's it.
If he ends up with Adam Eve, I'll be all right too.
Yeah.
I'm not that attached to her.
Yeah.
I'm not like crazy.
about this relationship with Amber.
She's a nice girl.
Like, don't get me wrong.
But I think in my heart of hearts,
I'm just like, Mark and Eve should be together.
Okay.
Here's why I appreciate their relationship.
I figured it out because I was thinking it while watching the show.
Sometimes it's nice when you have someone close to you
that's not part of your world.
Sure.
That is nice.
Like I have one of my good friends, Paula, who lives in Thailand now.
She has nothing to do with the industry,
really nothing to do with YouTube.
And it's actually really fun to talk to her
because it's not about all the stuff
that I do every single day.
And it's not work.
You're not working your work home.
Exactly.
Yeah.
Or if I do, it's like there's a fresh perspective
to lend that to, you know what I mean?
Yeah.
Anyway, that's the only thing
that, like, had me excited for their relationship.
That's definitely a positive.
Yeah.
But speaking of relationships,
I'm really happy that Mark's mom
is actually taking to little baby Oliver.
He's got a name now.
It's part of the family.
family. She's like really taking her role as his new mom very seriously. And I think that's
really sweet. Like that is the outcome that I wanted to happen. Because I believe that she's a kind
hearted person and that she's, you know, mature enough to be like, you know what? This is a baby.
This kid needs me and he's also my son's brother. So let me help out this innocent child,
you know, give him a life.
And I think the woman from the agency was probably the best choice, to be honest.
I don't know if we can trust her completely yet because anyone that Cecil sends,
I'm kind of like, I don't know, man.
Like, you could be saying all the right things because you have like five degrees in psychology
and you know exactly what to say and you're manipulating her right now.
But also, all the things you're saying sound really good and who else could take care of an alien baby.
I feel like anything coming from Cecil is going to have a modicum of.
manipulation attached to it.
The thing is, there aren't a lot of options, and both parties know this.
Like, you can't just have a regular human person taking care of an alien baby.
You just can't.
You can't do that.
You can't do it, no.
And so she kind of has to pick from the litter that Cecil is offering.
It's like, this is it.
Okay.
Pick the one you like the least, or hate the least.
If it turns out that Invincible and Amber breakup, I might be a little bit annoyed with this
episode because the humming and hawing only works if they work it out.
True.
Otherwise, like, you just prolong what we knew was going to happen anyway.
There's no surprise.
It's a surprise if they managed to make it work.
Yeah.
Saying that, I'm like, okay, maybe they'll stay together.
I'm not exactly excited about it.
I would say that this might be my favorite role of Seth Rogen.
Because, like, having watched him over the years, I only discovered him with Knocked Up.
I don't remember what he did before that.
But I don't always like him.
Sometimes he's there, and I'm like, why is he here?
There was a movie called 50-50 with Joseph Gordon Lovett.
I thought he was really good in that.
I haven't seen that one.
And so in Kung Fu Panda, he was pretty cool, I guess.
I love Kung Fu Panda so much.
And so he doesn't hurt the experience of the movie.
Sure.
Here, his character, it's like he's perfect for this role.
I think so.
Yeah.
He's really, really great as Alan.
And every time I see Alan, I'm just like, oh, yeah, it's Alan.
Like, he's just kind of cute and awkward, but also strangely, very, very strong.
And it's like a very charming combination.
It's devoid of his laugh.
He doesn't do the Seth Rogen laugh too much.
Yeah, whatever that stoner laugh is that he always does,
he's not here too much.
And I think that maybe that helps because it's like while I appreciate his laugh,
sometimes it's just like now it sounds like every other Seth Rogen role ever.
Sure, sure, sure.
There's just something about his behavior that just feels fun and nice and accessible.
Even the little, when he was getting a little bit annoyed in space, when he's like, oh, yeah, good question.
He wants to know if I started the fight.
Also, he doesn't like your beard or your most like this thing.
It was being a little bit petty.
I enjoyed that, you know.
Yeah, it was cute.
I also enjoyed the stuff with Rex and shrink ray and just how they're not dead.
The show, it just like pulls on your heartstrings or your emotions, maybe not heartstrings.
It's more like shock.
one week it's like oh no they're dead oh no they're alive i seriously thought that rex was
like properly gone he looked like it i mean he was shot in the head i know but you know maybe that
was just a chunk where he didn't actually have a brain like maybe his brain is smaller it wasn't
the prefrontal cortex yeah so whatever it is i mean i'm actually i'm actually glad that he's
okay because while he might be a douchebag he's incredibly entertaining so i don't actually know
what like all the different parts of the brain does that might be like the math part so maybe he won't
be able to count anymore oh that's okay he didn't really need it does he yeah but um yeah anyway
uh this is a definitely a fun episode i enjoyed it yeah it was a nice companion to the previous episode
you know it's just like a whole the whole thing is like one long movie i guess but the last one and
this one definitely feel you know well yeah it's kind of like wrapped up that little story kind of but
not really because, you know, obviously there's the possibility of more sequeds now that
that one, like, popped out of that guy's mouth. And then also that guy with a big brain
from the beginning is back. So that's got to weave into the story somehow now. The thing with
the sequed, though, it's like I could easily see that being the end of a movie, you know,
it's like, we're preparing for the sequel kind of thing. Sure. Yeah. There's always a thing like
that at the end of a film. It's like, oh, no, they didn't get them all. Yeah, exactly. Yeah.
