Starting point is 00:00:00 Senna. I'm going to be checking out Lilo and Stitch today. How the hell have I managed to go this far in life without having seen Lilo and Stitch? I am ashamed. I am ashamed. We're going to fix that today. I'm very excited because I know a lot of people really love this movie. And I'm a big fan of Disney animations in general.
Starting point is 00:00:21 So I'm really curious to see if I'm going to feel the same. Let's strap in, and away we go. I'm just going to have a little sip of magic mind before we're. we jump into this. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised the first time I tried this. And I got Jabby to try it and he feels the same as well. It tastes healthy without tasting awful.
Starting point is 00:00:41 It actually tastes good because I was scared. I've tried so many things that are like healthy and supposed to give me energy and stuff, but they taste like sand. It's a mental performance shot. I love it because it's so small, but it really packs a punch without being aggressive. I'm someone who's actually really,
Starting point is 00:01:00 sensitive to caffeine, which is why I generally don't drink coffee unless like I feel like I really need it. But usually that results in feeling quite awful afterwards. This is, it's more like a chill, calm focus, which is my favorite kind. I've really enjoyed taking it before shoots, where I need to, you know, be on and have energy, but without feeling like it's too much. And also before workouts. I love it before a workout. This really helps to kind of get me in the zone. And then I'm like, cool, let's bang out a workout before I start my day. And then I'm like, wow, so focused, so motivated as I'm going around the day. And I don't feel the stress. I need to read the magic formula because it's got Lyonsmaine, Bacopa and Cognizin for mental performance. And then for less
Starting point is 00:01:53 stress. These are ingredients that I really like. Ashwaganda, L. Theanine, and turmeric, also really great for anti-inflammation. And then rodeola, cordyceps, and matcha for better energy. And I know what you're thinking, cordyceps, not the kind that's going to eat your brain and turn you into infected. Alla, the last of us. I don't think. And finally, vitamins, B2, B, 3, B12C, and D for vitality. I mean, it's got the whole shebang. really like it honestly and if you if you guys want to check it out uh we have a link in the description you get 48% off if you want to do a subscription a monthly subscription or 20% off if you want to you know just try it once and see how you feel so just use code
Starting point is 00:02:40 synapal 20 and don't miss out you can also find it at your local sprouts and eriwan because she fancy all right let's jump into it here we go Oh, and then they added him in the picture, too. How sweet. Wow. What a sweet, sweet movie about family. Oh, my gosh. I was thoroughly touched by that.
Starting point is 00:03:07 It's like, it's such a simple little story, you know? Like, as far as Disney animations go, I guess, it's like, it's very, just very simple. It's a story about family, right? And it's like set in Hawaii on an island. And at first it seems just very, I suppose, on the surface. But I was really surprised at how deep it actually is. And just how much understanding that Lilo has towards Stitch's character, if you wanted to kind of deep dive into it a little bit more,
Starting point is 00:03:41 I think it was really cool that they were both quite similar in the beginning where, you know, they were dealing with stuff. At least it's probably more apparent with Lilo, right? because she is suffering from loss because she lost her parents. And I thought it was really interesting how they kind of hinted at it. And I think I knew at the back of my mind kind of what might have happened because why would she be living with her older sister by themselves with no parents? Like the only way that would happen is if the parents died somehow.
Starting point is 00:04:14 So I guess it wasn't a surprise to find out. But they just kind of throw us into the middle of the story and it's like, oh, this is the situation with them. And the way that they fight and everything is just so relatable. Because I feel like if you have a sibling, you can probably relate to that. I know that growing up, me and my younger sister, because we were very close. It was intense. Like some of the arguments and fights that we have or that we had were some of the most violent ones that I've ever had with anyone in my life.
Starting point is 00:04:47 I think it's just family, you know. Like I can get so angry with my mom. I can get so angry with my sister, but then ultimately, at the end of it, we're family. So we come back together and we forgive and we love again. And so the movie is showing us this child who's going through some really heavy stuff, but in a lighthearted way, but you can kind of see how all of that is affecting her relationships with the other kids around her. And I think you can understand why she might be lashing out and behaving the way that she does. And so when she comes across Stitch, who is very reflective of herself,
Starting point is 00:05:25 it's like, I don't know if she was right in assessing how he was feeling and the hurt and everything that he might have been feeling inside. But it was probably also what she was feeling inside. And so that's why she was lashing out and, you know, sometimes being violent. And so she recognized that in him, which I thought was, like, really cool. And if you want to, you can kind of go deeper. and look at it that way. Or you can just take it at surface level
Starting point is 00:05:53 and be like, you know, he's built this way and he's this feral creature who was designed for destruction. But I also really love the message where it's the whole argument of nature versus nurture, right? Like, are we born a specific way and that's how we're supposed to be? Or do we have agency and free will
Starting point is 00:06:14 in order to change who we are and become a better version of ourselves? And I think this movie definitely supports the other side of the argument, which is it is nurture, you know. The creator was, like, so surprised that his creature that he made that was supposed to be, like, really destructive and everything comes to earth and is exposed to this little girl and her family. And all of a sudden, he's really sweet and he cares about family and he's got a heart.
Starting point is 00:06:42 And he's, like, so calm. And it's, like, surprising and everything. I just thought that was so adorable. And everything about the movie is so delightful from the animation style to the comedy, to the music. You know, it's just like, it's a fun time. And I think like a lot of Disney movies, or at least the ones that I really like, it has all of those things, you know, where it's like, yes, it's fun. There's some really great quirky characters, especially the animals, you know, and in this, of course, it's aliens, right? and they're just really cute.
Starting point is 00:07:18 And especially Lilo, like the way they made him. He's supposed to be scary, right? But he's not really scary, obviously. But he's just so cute and fluffy, just adorable and delightful. And it was just, like, really fun. And also really cool to be allowed into this world where it's set in Hawaii and kind of getting a taste of the culture.
Starting point is 00:07:39 I also really enjoyed how they added the language in there and, like, not necessarily even giving. as subtitles, but it's like you can understand through context and the body language of how the characters are moving and communicating. You're like, oh, like, I get it. And it's definitely a culture that I'm very fascinated by. Like, I really love just like the sense of family and community that comes from the people there and like how much they respect each other and the earth and the environment and so it was just really fun to get to be in this world with these characters in a location that I'm not really familiar with. And I do wonder for those of you who maybe are
Starting point is 00:08:26 from Hawaii, like how accurate was this in the representation of what it's like to actually be a local and to live there? Because I imagine it's night and day to the experience that you would have as a tourist, a visitor coming to see, you know, what the islands have to offer. And so I wonder how authentic it is to that experience. But this was such a sweet movie and I'm so glad that I got to watch it. I hope you enjoyed watching it along with me. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below. And yeah, we'll see you.
Starting point is 00:09:02 We'll see you. I'll see you very soon. Anyway, take care. Bye.
