Starting point is 00:00:00 Sina. Pals! Ladies and gentlemen, it's Chris Sepspeedo with Michael Boo. Hello, hello. We're back with Mission. Impossible. Not one, not two, but three.
Starting point is 00:00:17 And we are more excited than you even know. Because I'm like, all right, one, is that girl from the last one going to be here or did they break up? I have a speaking suspicion she's not. I'm just saying they might have broken up because you know they were it was a really quick
Starting point is 00:00:33 in and out it was it was if you know what I mean you know what I mean I'm like my first let's see where they go from here
Starting point is 00:00:44 let's just let's go let's go that's adorable I love how chill they are they're like yep the wife's in on it
Starting point is 00:00:57 so we can just have her in headquarter and whatever, no big deal. All right, all right. This was my favorite. Yeah, no. 100% my favorite so far. That was amazing.
Starting point is 00:01:08 This one was top to bottom. That one was awesome. Oh, 100%. And I think what I appreciate about it is it wasn't just like one operation that failed or succeeded. We got to see like multiple operations. How we do it. And like how they get into place. And now we've got like a.
Starting point is 00:01:28 a cast of characters, too, that I'm hoping all come back. I'm not going to lie. Okay, what I loved about this is I feel like they got us this far and was like, all right, now we trust you enough to let us in on our secret. Right. Like our secrets and everything.
Starting point is 00:01:43 And I thought that was kind of fun and exciting because I felt like, oh my God, we just earned our spot. And I just, that's right. We just got, Michael, we got promoted.
Starting point is 00:01:53 We got promoted. We got so damn promoted. We've made it to movie three. We are now promoted with a delight. Because, like, I was always really curious why Luther was the only one that ever came back. And we didn't have, like, an established set of characters outside of Luther. So now I think, I think, I hope we're establishing these characters. Also, Philip Seymour Hoffman as Owen Davian is the villain I dream of playing one day.
Starting point is 00:02:17 Like, I, I so desperately want to play a character like him that is just so calculatedly, terrifyingly calm right up until he isn't anymore. Oh, my God. That is my dream to play, and he was so phenomenal in this role. He really was, honestly. So amazing. I think he, like, he stole the show for sure. Yeah. I also love Julia.
Starting point is 00:02:38 She's a great new edition. Julia was great. I love Julia. I thought she was great. I hope she sticks around and she was back. And that is how you establish a strong relationship that motivates a character. This. It ought to come again.
Starting point is 00:02:52 If you're only here for the Mission Impossible 3, you have no idea what I'm talking. about go back and watch our mission impossible two reactions but you'll understand you'll understand all this is how you write a compelling relationship with minimal interaction this is that's it that's it this is very very very true i have like i have zero complaints this was amazing they had the wool over my eyes the entire time i really was sitting here thinking brazil was the problem and the fact that it was musgrave the entire time so clever so it's so cleverly done like we are just from the beginning, from the outside of the film. We're like, oh, Musgraves is cutie.
Starting point is 00:03:31 He's like this cool young guy that we trust, and he like breaks him out of IMF. Because he was, he was, he played this role. He played it so well. And you know what? I'm kind of irritated with ourselves because we should have known it wasn't Julia. And it was a mask. Oh, because they do so many mask things. You'll hold on, zoom into this.
Starting point is 00:03:52 We trusted. We trusted. The whole last movie we were talking about like, we can't trust the mask. I've been so on with the mask thing, but in a weird way, I feel like Mission Impossible. They rely on this mask to take away any mistakes or whatever. Like, it covers the retcon mask. It covers so much, but allows them to also do so much more. And I love the mask, and I hate it at the same time.
Starting point is 00:04:19 But in this one, the part where Luther is like pushing right down on the eye socket and then how they. Did that transition? Oh, my gosh. Yeah, no, the transition from Tom Cruise to Philip Seymour Hoffman was amazing. I like that they show, they're like, no, no, we're going to show you, make sure you know this is believable. And I bought it. I did. And like you said, to think, we thought what we were, we, we thought we knew.
Starting point is 00:04:45 We thought we knew. We didn't know. We didn't know. This was exciting. And Benji, our little Benji hero, like, you are just, duh. Yes, no, Simon Pegas Benji was so funny. was like, that is a master class in making the most of your screen time. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:02 Arguably, he is a very small character that only appears at like the beginning and the end of the movie. And he made sure you saw him. He owned it. We loved him. His dialogue delivery and character delivery was flawless. This is how you create a memorable character out of like next to nothing. And you know what's so great about that is many people can't do that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:24 And when you can, and it makes me kind of go, damn, next time I get it, like, if I can get a next, like, small role. I need to really start milking that. Yeah, right. And be like, huh, let me captivate you. Come here, camera. Look at me. I'm the real star. Well, I mean, Simon Pegg's incredible.
Starting point is 00:05:39 Like, he's a phenomenal actor and, like, he's been in great things leading up to this, but so good. But he really captured that. He took, he took this role, like, I feel like, like you said, like it was small, but he executed and was like, now, you're going to see me. You're going to remember me at the end of this. And we did. honestly. Oh yeah. We really did. A thousand percent. Show stopping. Scene stealing.
Starting point is 00:06:00 Right now, I'm just going to be like mission impossible. It doesn't just stagnate. It's just not good. It gets better as you go along on the journey. And I feel like everything they're doing with it, I'm like, how are you going to take this the next level? Even the storylines. It feels fresh. So it's not like, like sometimes, for example, like, what is it called? I don't know. Well, Fast and Furious or like the Auto.
Starting point is 00:06:24 about it's um oh transformers and stuff like that after a while like sometimes like for me i know you guys i'm not trying to trash it or anything it's just it becomes redundant a little bit and then i'm like okay i kind of know what to expect you've done the same thing over and over again where it doesn't feel so fresh where this one all three have been completely different and yes we bring back like little things here and there and i don't mind that i love it but the storyline is fresh like this one i was like, I was so on my toes, and this one's by far my favorite. Yeah, I think every iteration that we've watched so far have added something. Mission Impossible One was the establishment of the franchise.
Starting point is 00:07:04 We kind of get the fun, cool spy gadget and like betrayal sort of vibe. Like that sets the tone. Number two is really like, all right, we've got the tone. Now let's try it with a whole lot more action. Let's, let's up the intensity, let's up the high octane, let's make some slow-mo flying kicks, things like that. This one, I think, really has come into its own is like, okay, we've got the action. Yep. We've got the established, like, spy drama. Now let's mess it up on the story. Let's make it a drama. Let's make it compelling. Let's make it something that's worth coming and
Starting point is 00:07:37 watching. I mean, not saying that one and two aren't, but I think so far, and I've only watched three of them, this one is my favorite because this is really, I feel like where it's come into its own. Yep. We've got drama. We've got the action. We've got the intrigue. We've got all of it. And I keep over talking Michael because I'm so excited and I'm like, I'm like, yeah, yeah, yeah. And then you keep saying everything. I'm like, I agree. When he said, sorry. Oh, I'm like, sorry.
Starting point is 00:08:05 I'm like, I'm ecstatic about this franchise. Me too. And everything my, I second everything Michael said, say it again, Michael. I said that too. Copy things. I don't want to be like this. Mm-hmm. I don't even know.
Starting point is 00:08:20 Yeah, yeah, you heard my boy over here. He told you what's up But it's Yeah phenomenal movie Top to bottom Really well done Kudos J.J. Abrams I believe he was the one
Starting point is 00:08:31 who directed this And all of the writing team Like again you've really Matured Mission Impossible And like I see why it's got legs now We came into this third installment And like this If it continues to be at this caliber
Starting point is 00:08:42 And beyond I understand Why we've got so many of them Yes And I feel like what I like about this Is the more like as we go on I feel like they're watching And kind of going Ooh, we could have done this better.
Starting point is 00:08:53 Hey, you know what we should do? Like, let's perfect this portion. You know, and I feel like each time, anything that we felt like was maybe kind of like on the weaker side or whatever has gotten better. Yeah, for sure. And I love that they're paying attention to everything. Like, and they're having a blast doing it.
Starting point is 00:09:10 Oh, yeah. This is really fine. And I'm like, I feel like I'm on a roller coaster on this. Don't you? Yeah, no, for sure. It's definitely a roller coaster ride. And I'm looking for.
