Starting point is 00:00:00 We're watching Real Steel starring Hugh Jackman, aka Wolverine. Oh. Oh, sorry. I know who this man is. Oh. Kristen's Japanese came out. Sorry. Oh.
Starting point is 00:00:19 Dude, Zeus got messed up. Yeah. I mean, we did take some pretty intense blows, though, in the first few rounds. Close fight. I mean, they thought they were going to completely die, so that is a massive win. God damn it! That got me! I love it!
Starting point is 00:00:40 When I saw the commercial for this film years ago, I kind of just wrote it off. I'm like, I didn't think much of it. I was like, hell, whatever. It came at a time when there was like a bunch of these movies that were like CGI and robots and stuff like that. It was part of like a trend, I feel like at that time. People right now are feeling a sense of superhero fatigue. That's been the conversation in the zeitguise. And I think at the time, I was feeling kind of robot fatigue.
Starting point is 00:01:03 I didn't have a heck of a lot of interest. And it seemed like the movie was sort of downplayed. They're like, it's based on the rockum sock them toys, whatever. What's the big deal? This movie had so much heart. It follows a lot of tropes and like familiar beats. It's a bit derivative in some ways, but it's like it did it so well, though. And the actors were so strong and carried the film so well.
Starting point is 00:01:23 And the visual effects were so good. Like, all together, I felt like it was such a strong film. you know, it moved me. And I was like, and by the end, the bonding between the father and son, which is what you really want, they set him up as like a really unlikable dude initially, too. It's like, why should I? And by the end, you're just like, yes. And you're just now hoping that after the movie that they can be like, they can continue
Starting point is 00:01:47 that bond in that relationship, you know? I love how you're like, hoping. I love it. I did too. This was amazing. That was actually one of my favorite games growing up. The moment mine broke, I would ask. for a new one every, like, every Christmas.
Starting point is 00:02:00 Okay, gotcha. I was obsessed with it. This film, like you said, there's nothing that you said that I don't agree with. Oh my gosh, the heart in this, but I love that they brought him back. What don't you agree with?
Starting point is 00:02:12 No, I said there's nothing I don't agree with you. Oh, got you, gotcha, got you. I agree with everything, every single thing you said. Every single thing, every single say. Every single say. Yeah, no, I love that they brought this, Jabbi's on. I agree with every single say, Jabbi Sam. Harro.
Starting point is 00:02:25 No, I love that they brought this, the dad. back from the dead. Because, like, his child is his younger self almost, like his ability not to give up and just fight, fight, fight, fight. His child brought that back to him. Yeah. You know, and gave him all that strength.
Starting point is 00:02:40 But the part that just killed me was when he was like, no, I want you to fight for me. I was like, I was like, oh, I'm not feeling so bad. Like, ah. Yeah. I'm like, oh, that one, that one I was like, Do it.
Starting point is 00:02:58 The effects were great, aren't they? The effects were amazing. I believed it. Yeah. Like, full blown. There was maybe like a couple of moments in the film. We're like, okay, that looks like a little bit of CGI. But, and like, some of the green screen stuff, I'm like, I can tell.
Starting point is 00:03:10 It got me so well that I'm like, it's cool. I love it. This is great. I love that they didn't sabotage anything. I really love that it was what it was. And when you said that, it kind of irritate me. I'm like, they can't do that. Well, something happened.
Starting point is 00:03:23 A little negative moment happened. Like, because he got his ass kicked on the bet he didn't. payback. And that guy also got his comeuppance. It didn't happen quite in the way that maybe we would have wanted, but he still got his comeuppance because he had hubris. He bet against Hugh Jackman and then he lost. He said, homie. I was done. I was like, oof. Yeah. No, this is so much fun. I'm like so into it that I'm like, I feel like it's a real event that we need to go to and invest in a robot and be like, all right, let's go. Yeah. The closest thing we have to this right now was drone racing as far as like robot stuff, but this is probably not too far into the future.
Starting point is 00:04:02 Drone racing, no, it's a thing. People get excited. I know, but this is like, don't compare that to this. This is so badass. Yeah. And I love that they incorporate the boxing, like real boxing into it where he started off as a boxer and then went into the robot aspect of things. Oh, man, this little boy, I don't think they could have casted a better little boy. This kid crushed it. Yeah. No, for real. He was great. The acting on that, the acting shops on this. I was so hyped.
Starting point is 00:04:29 I'm like screaming. Like, I felt like it was legit real. Okay. So on that, before I forget, when you're in this seat, especially for me, I have to be aware of what I'm doing while being engaged with the movie, right? Because there's like technical aspects of things. I have red light on the camera to let me know it's recording. I can see the red light on this thing. I got a thing over here.
Starting point is 00:04:47 I'm like, I have to just be kind of somewhat aware of what's happening just to make sure like we didn't, we don't lose anything along the way. Sometimes I check this right here to, okay, it's in focus still. good because sometimes the camera goes out of focus for some fucking reason. And so... I'm glad you brought that up. Even despite that, like, I found myself getting lost, so lost in this movie where I was just like really feeling like I,
Starting point is 00:05:08 like you mentioned, like I was in it. And I was just so rooting for them to win. So, like, it really got me. And I'm a little bit sad that I didn't watch this when it first came out, but I'm also happy because I got to share the experience with you guys. So... I feel like when I watch it here,
Starting point is 00:05:24 the screen in front of us, so... big. Yeah, it is like a movie theater, I suppose. I don't know. To me, I don't go to a movie theater often. I'm here. And we have this. Yeah. It's literally like, right? And I'm like, I think that's why I'm like, ah, it's right there. Yeah. And to me, it's like so big. So, I don't know, like, I feel like I'm a movie theater every day. I'm here. Yeah, I mean, we are about like four feet away from a 50 inch TV. So, yeah. Good job. Way to get the best of the best. I love this. This is great. I'm obsessed. I was not expecting to enjoy this as much as I did. I'm going to be real with you guys. I think that's part of why I just got so swept up in. I'm like, what is this movie? Where did it come from? It just got to snuck up on me. Oh, if I was watching this at home and you were saying with me, I would be on my feet. I would have, like, there's a few times I wanted to stand up. I was like, sit down. Don't move. Sit down. Yeah. Like, because I wanted to stay. I would have been standing up going, ah, let's go. Like, and I was, I mean, you already saw. I was going out of control here. I really felt like it was real. I was so invested. I wish this had a sequel.
Starting point is 00:06:24 If he didn't have all this other stuff This is like the safe seat right here Where you're like you get to be free You don't have to worry about everything This side you have to be like Like he said I'm glad you brought that up I'm telling you If he wasn't sitting right here
Starting point is 00:06:39 He would have been Crossed! I was like I know And we would have been going back and forth Even harder I know Trust me Trust me Anyways you guys This has been fun
Starting point is 00:06:50 I really appreciate you guys hanging out with us I'm Jabby Kui This is and Pino. Peace out.
