Starting point is 00:00:00 Sina. Pals. What's up guys? It's Chris and Sepsino, joined by... Michael Boose. Oh, I'm sorry. I try to give him a microphone, you know? Like, I'm sorry, my bad. All right, anyways, with that being sad today, we're watching Run, Loa, Run. Not Forrest Gump, but Laura, run, Laura, run.
Starting point is 00:00:24 Lola. I mean Lola. What I say, Loa? Lora. looking at L-O-L and then putting an A at it. It was close. It was close. Just one letter. All right, go ahead. We are watching. Run, low, low, run.
Starting point is 00:00:38 Not forced. I've been told it's a German film. We'll see once it starts speaking. So I'm excited because I grew up in Germany. And so I got that on my side. All right. You can explain the nuance of the puns to me then. Hopefully. We'll see. Feeling feeling dunk. All right, let's get started. Da-da-da-da-da.
Starting point is 00:01:00 What's in the other thing? What's in the bag? Wait, that was it? That's the end. If I were her and he asked what's in the bag, I'd throttle him. I'd just immediately turn around and be like, What do you think is in the bag? That was it.
Starting point is 00:01:20 Incredible. That was an amazing movie. I loved it. I thought it was great. I thought that was stunning. Tell me your thoughts. Give me your thoughts. What are we thinking?
Starting point is 00:01:30 I feel like I've been on crack for the last hour, 19 minutes. That movie was a stress dream. That movie was 100% a start-to-finish stress dream. And the amazing Eurobeat techno definitely didn't help in like reducing one's heart rate. But it was so good. That was incredible. I'm not going to lie. This movie, I love the way it was shot.
Starting point is 00:01:54 I love the art. I love the simplicity of it. and yet it was wild. It was. Okay, I'm opening the envelope. Not my prediction. Unfortunately, I really thought there was going to be like some sort of like, ha, surprise, we got you, none of this actually happened component to it.
Starting point is 00:02:13 And there wasn't that. But I'm not mad with how it ended. I did like the kind of like lack of explanation, if I'm honest. I know exactly what you just said. The lack of explanation. I'm like, eh. So, for the last hour and 19 minutes, what we did was we kept dying, going back, changing up the scenarios. And, you know, like, I'm not upset about it.
Starting point is 00:02:37 But I think because it was done in such an epic way with, like, the animation, like, connected. I know. The editing was amazing. And, like, the artistic, stylistic choices were chef's kiss. No, it was. Oh, my God. And I think that's what makes me upset about it. because I actually wanted an actual storyline.
Starting point is 00:02:59 But the storyline is she got the money. That's the story. I want a different story. It is the oldest story. Love conquers all. They were in love and they didn't let anything get in the way of them being together. They figured it out. I'm frustrated.
Starting point is 00:03:17 Love conquers all. I think, okay, all right. Go on. There wasn't many lines, okay? Okay, all right. There wasn't many lines. Mad Max Fury Road has a 12-page script, or not Fury Road, uh, Road Warrior, one of the best movies of all time.
Starting point is 00:03:34 Haven't seen it. Add that one to the list. Okay. In the comments, please demand the Chisie Road Warrior. Okay, and it was, 12-page script. Yeah, it's like 12 pages of dialogue maximum. This one was probably like 10, 5, 7 page script. Every single scene was Lola Runs.
Starting point is 00:03:51 Next scene. You know, I'm assuming this was a low-budget film, but I'm just like the ending, okay I'm frustrated because it was so, the edit's so fire. Uh-huh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:06 Okay, and I'm like getting, I'm like wanting more from the story and it was just like, a part of me, excuse me, and I'm so sorry for what I'm about to say, but I almost feel like my time was wasted and they're like, they just were like, ha-ha, gotcha, I got you invested
Starting point is 00:04:22 and that was it. Where I'm like sitting there going, I want so much more from this, but... I fully disagree. I fully disagree. I think every second of that hour and 19 minutes we just spent together was a worthwhile moment of my time. This is like one of those things where you're like, okay, you really like a guy. Okay?
Starting point is 00:04:45 Okay, yeah. Let me put in the mindset of liking a guy. All right, we're liking a guy. All right, cool. Or female. And she's tagging. She's like, he he, he's like, he, he's like, come get it. A little closer.
Starting point is 00:04:56 Just kidding. That's what I got. It's like... You feel like you were denied a payoff. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, I feel like I just got played. I feel like I got played.
Starting point is 00:05:06 Or like, if I want to go down a dirty route, you know, like, you're like, oh, my God, I'm so excited and then I didn't finish. Like, what... But you got a happy ending. Everything worked out. Everything worked out. They got to be together. He didn't have to rob a grocery store.
Starting point is 00:05:23 He still got the money to his... boss so his boss isn't going to kick his butt and then they walk into the sunset literally walking down the street with a hundred grand in a bag like come okay okay hold up hold up okay the ending is clever i will give him that the ending's clever because she's just like hmm and he's like what's in the bag and she's like huh and sure he knows dad he's going to disappear you're right dad also got his comeuppance because he's getting the crap beat out of him by the thugs now because of out of the timing. The guard had his heart attack
Starting point is 00:05:56 and then got the catharsis he needed in the back of the ambulance. The ambulance didn't end up murking anybody by running them over, like slamming through glass because his ambulance driver can't pay attention. I mean, happy endings. The woman with the kid in the stroller found God.
Starting point is 00:06:14 I don't know what happened to Mrs. Yeager. We kind of dropped Mrs. Yeager like at the end. Yeah, we kind of dropped her. But, okay, okay. It had happy ending. It had a happy ending, but like I wanted an explosion. It gave me like a, it gave me like, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:06:32 It was so freaking cool. It was really cool. And yet, honestly, when I'm watching it, yeah, there's a story, but then was there a story? You know? And I was sitting here going, that's it? I just watched this girl run for over an hour over again. I am so impressed by how much of this film is. actually Lola running.
Starting point is 00:06:54 Yeah. Like, that's insane. And we're over here watching it going. I know. And I was here for every second of her just sprinting on camera. You know what? It makes sense on the crazy. Okay, whoever wrote this must have been on crack.
Starting point is 00:07:09 That's how they executed it. No, sometimes I think people who are on crack write these masterpieces. It is a masterpiece. Uh-huh, yeah. Okay. Anyone who's ever written a masterpiece was on crack. J.R. or Tolkien on crack. I'm just saying,
Starting point is 00:07:23 I'm just saying your mind's got to be whacked out to make something that's so like out there, okay? And then you're like, I felt like I was on crack this whole time, and I've never even done crack. And I'm like, I mean, but I was thoroughly entertained. I'm just a little bit bummed out because I'm kind of like, I feel like I got bamboozled. You had me so engaged for something bigger and more.
Starting point is 00:07:48 And I'm like, yo, are you going to add? more to the story. But then another part of me is like, I'm so mad at it that I'm also impressed. Right. That you just got away with that hour and 19 minutes of this. Yeah, we watched a woman run for an hour and 19 minutes. And again, I was fully invested.
Starting point is 00:08:06 Think of the edits, okay? Yeah. They reused so many of those scenes. So what they did was, okay, they filmed these scenes. They replayed these scenes. Tweaked it a hair. And I'm like, the movie probably took like three days to film
Starting point is 00:08:20 that's what I'm saying all of it was done in the editing that's what I'm saying and they made it look like there were a maximum of like four shots in this film hey this is the definition of work smarter not harder
Starting point is 00:08:31 that's all I'm gonna say exactly is it not I will give them that like 100% I will clap for it I would nominate it but I stand by where I stand I am like
Starting point is 00:08:45 annoyed with it as well Like, I'm so, like, what the W-T-F? Like, come on. You just, I think, like, and the whole time you're stressing me out for what? Why are you guys stressing me out? Happy ending. My toes are like this. Okay, and they got no release.
Starting point is 00:09:04 Butthole is maximally positive. All I'm saying, all I'm saying is, you know, like, the whole time, you know, like, the whole time, you got me tense for what to piss me off and be impressed at the same time Yeah, exactly That's 100% what they were going for
Starting point is 00:09:26 Like you know what I mean Like you got me tense stressed out out of my mind And then you want to piss me off But let me praise you For pissing me off What kind of genius Like little scheme
Starting point is 00:09:41 Is that? That's all I'm saying An incredible scheme is what that is I'm like, I'm over here like, damn, did me dirty. Yep. Wow. It's been bamboozled. Yeah, and then in the meantime, I'm like, yeah, let's go. Yep, yep, yep, yep.
Starting point is 00:09:57 And I'm like, I honestly, like, I want to see more work from these people who made this. However, I want you to see you execute something that's not just this. You know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, yeah, I get it. I might get destroyed for those who are in love with this. I mean, I'm not saying I'm not in love. Oh, we're going to fight. As soon as the camera turns off, it's fisticuffs.
Starting point is 00:10:20 But we'll keep it civil on camera. I'm just going to say, I loved it and I hate it all at the same time. And I kind of feel like I feel like I'm never going to get the hour of 19 minutes back and I'm still going to be thinking about this after I leave. Yeah, there you go. Which I guess, you know, if you're still thinking about it after you leave, I guess it has worth, like there's worth, it's worth something. And I think my mind's like, yo, if they can throw out a film like,
Starting point is 00:10:46 this. I'm making my own damn film and you know what? You know what? Let's go. Game on. She's going to do it but better. The way she wanted it to end. I mean, no, the ending's epic. I do like the ending. I do like it and I hate it. The music was amazing. The music was incredible. I'm going to download a few of these songs tonight. Yeah, absolutely going to go back through with like Shazam and be like, oh really? No, seriously. For a real talk. 100%. For the budget of this film. I'm going to look up the damn budget. What a $1.75 million. That's nothing. That is zero.
Starting point is 00:11:25 That is like making, that is the definition of a shoestring budget for a film. Wow. 1.75 million. 1.75 million. And it was an amazing hour and 20 minutes. A lot are you going to hate me for saying this? They may have been able to get away with this for less. You're not, you can't even be happy with the fact that they did it on that.
Starting point is 00:11:50 You're like, oh, they could have done less. The majority of that goes to the name actor, what's his name? I think the majority of budget went to him. And then, and I hope all the majority went to the editing. Because the editing was absolute fire, man. The editing was incredible. Okay, wait, what awards did they win? They won a bunch of awards.
Starting point is 00:12:13 list is so long. This is how you know it's a good film, even though I'm talking shit. I will admit it was good, but I'm talking shit. This is how you know it's good. Because I'm so damn invested in knowing more about it. And I've never done that. Not never on this channel, ever, have I ever looked up how much the film was? People who were in it, did it win an award? I never care. And this is the first time. I'm like, yo, I need no more. What else did they do? Where I want to see the list of where every single little dollar went. Well, done. I'm over it.
Starting point is 00:12:45 Whatever. You know what? Well done. Anyways, you guys, you let us know in the comments what you think. Go ahead. Bad mouth me if you need. Or stand by my side in the comments. Let me know you understand my frustration, but also understand my praise at the same time.
