Pals!
DC has so many animations and we've decided to embark on this crazy journey to watch them all.
We're starting with Superman, Batman, Public Enemies.
Here we go.
Oh, there she is.
Want to stick around for a while?
Lois and I would... I can't.
It's late.
I'm not interested in being a third wheel bestie.
I'm gonna go.
She does not compare.
Shut up.
No respect for Power Girl.
She didn't even finish her sentence before Superman flew off.
No.
He was going to offer her, she was going to offer him a boo-day and everything.
A boo-day?
What's a boo-day?
It's the booty.
No, I am so glad that they called that out with her ridiculous rack with Toy Man,
because, yeah, that was just a lot.
The glory of yesteryear when we had that, that's gone.
days are gone.
Last time we saw that was with, I guess,
X-Nighter's Justice League.
Wonder Woman's short, short skirt.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
That's the end of that.
It's not coming back.
It's not coming back.
Do you be watching X-Men?
That's what it was.
Yeah.
X-Men 97, I just like Google searched.
Rogue?
Goblin Queen.
Oh, Goblin Queen.
Her outfit in the show is hot, but it's actually tame compared to her actual outfit.
I was like, God dang!
I want to see that one.
Why are we doing that one?
You want to be like the 90s?
Go and be the 90s.
Yeah.
No.
Full on G strings and like deep Vs.
No, well, her, I don't think people really care about this,
but her outfit, you know, how she had those tie highs and all that,
her outfit actually like has this opening here and it's all like exposed rib and stomach.
And I'm like, wow.
This was great because of Power Girl.
No, do you know why it was great?
I'll tell you why.
The buddy cop movie?
Yeah, it's the team up between Superman and Batman.
The team up we never got.
Yeah, they're really fun together.
And it was actually really sweet when Superman was like,
that's my best friend.
I was like, oh, he never heard it.
He never heard it because he was out in space.
He was leaving to go to space.
And he's all like, that's my best friend.
That was very sweet.
Batman didn't even smile when Superman showed up.
Batman just looked up at him and he's like,
I almost had the sweet relief of death.
And he just had to ruin that.
Batman was on a death wish.
He's always doing what needs to be done.
But it was also really fun, like, seeing them team up against all of these other, like, really powerful villains and heroes as well.
Because it wasn't easy.
Like, they really had to fight hard in order to win, I felt.
That was crazy.
They were, they were bombarded with wave after wave of enemies.
I'm like, this is nuts.
I've not seen this before.
Yeah, because a lot of the time for me with Superman,
like I like him and all.
Oh, here we go.
It's always the same thing.
It's just like he's so strong, right?
But with all of the kryptonite stuff
and like him having to battle
a bunch of other really powerful characters,
it's like, yeah, you know,
he's really having to dig deep
because he's getting his ass handed to him.
It was kind of fun to watch that.
It was wishful thinking,
but I was kind of hoping
that the Krypton Knight would have stayed in his body for most of the movie as this sort of like other hurdle he's got to get past like he has to fight with that inside of him like a handicap like a handicap yeah I've always wanted to see a Superman story where that was part of like his plot his story where it's like okay he's just not as strong as he normally is he's still the same dude but he's got this challenge that inhibits the full extent of his powers at least for
for that story.
Yeah.
I thought that would have been cool.
But they were sort of doing that here because he kept getting, you know, a face full
of kryptonite from where he went in this movie.
Everywhere.
Everywhere. Yeah.
Like, whether it was that robot guy who got incinerated or Lex Luthor.
Yeah.
You know, he just, it was a lot.
I was getting a tad frustrated during that fight between him and Lex Luthor because he kept
punching him in the face.
I'm like, okay, I'm slightly confused about this.
So, okay, let's assume for the moment that because he's full of kryptonite,
him getting punched in the face, he can withstand, fine.
But why not just, like, take apart his body quicker?
Like, that would be my goal.
You know what I mean?
Like, stop punching him.
Like, take his body apart.
Expose his foot faster, make him cold.
But outside of that, you know, it was fun.
It was really fun.
It felt longer than an hour.
It did, yeah.
But I suppose that's part and parcel for animation as well.
Because, like, even when animations are shorter, they still feel like a full, you know, story.
It's a full story.
Yeah.
And we had a nice little arc for the,
them in the beginning where it didn't really seem like they were super friendly like I mean
I'm not saying that Batman and Superman are enemies they're not but they have this kind of like
begrudging friendship or relationship and then by the end I'm not I'm never going to get over it
I'm never going to get over hearing Superman call Batman his best friend like that's so cool
I was just wondering who that black dude was with the electric powers because it's like
The only one I'm aware of is static shock.
Black Lightning is who you're looking for.
Oh, LeVar Burton.
You know who that is?
No.
He is Jordy from Star Trek the next generation.
Oh.
He was also on Reading Rainbow.
Clancy Brown.
This is a guy who is like, hey, it's that guy.
I wouldn't ever know him by his name, but I know him by his face.
I know someone who knows him by his name.
Andrew loves Clancy Brown.
Oh, really?
He does.
Yeah, loves him.
What is he famous for again?
Oh, he was in, I just remembered.
I think he was in Starship Troopers.
Oh, he was, yeah.
Yeah.
Anyway, cool.
I enjoyed the crap out of that.
That was fun.
Yeah, that was pretty cool.
You know my favorite thing about this movie, though?
What?
The music.
The music was epic.
The music was dope.
Yeah.
It just had, like, a great score.
It sounded just as good as the score you'd hear from the likes of, like, the dark night or something like that.
Yeah.
You know, I mean, maybe it's not quite as memorable because it doesn't have, like, a theme where you'd go,
oh, yeah, Superman, Batman, Batman.
public enemies.
It just had a just a cool sound all around that I really enjoyed.
Absolutely.
I would totally download that.
At least the opening song, you know, I really, that opening song was great.
It's like, oh, I feel like doing stuff.
I feel activated or motivated, you know?
Yeah.
I'm really happy that we've, there's a story that exists where you see Batman and
Superman working together like this because we never quite got that in the live action.
But friendship started to come about at the end of Justice League.
Right.
And that was it.
Yeah.
I can't think of a film.
I don't think there's a live action where we got that.
So thank goodness for animations we get to tell all these stories in a creative way.
So you guys, thanks so much for hanging out.
I'm Jabby Kauai.
This is...
Acharika.
Peace out.
