Senna.
The conversation around this show has been fascinating to say the least.
It's been a lot of fun in the comments to go back and forth and suddenly you.
I've been having fun, even if it doesn't look like I am in the comments.
I want to clarify something really fast.
I don't care about like the woke agenda or anything like that.
I just care about good characters and good story.
I've been lumped in a little bit with the army of hate against the show.
I don't hate the show. It's alright.
So far.
So far.
I always go into something wanting to like it.
I don't ever subscribe to this group thing.
this group think mentality of anything.
I'd be lying if I said that, you know,
all the vitriol surrounding it before watching the show
didn't concern me.
But, you know, I said at the end of episode one or two,
I'm like, actually, I'm enjoying this, right?
Yeah.
First two episodes, I thought were all right.
Episode three was where I started to get a little bit ropey.
For anyone who's got issues
because they think the show is too woke,
it's not really my concern.
I'm just trying to get something good out of this.
You know what I mean?
I want a good experience as much as I can extract from it.
And anyone who thinks I'm just here to hate, well, you're wrong.
Is that simple?
You know, I might be more critical.
I'm not here to hate it.
I'm here to enjoy it, hopefully.
So, without further preamble, let's get into it.
Here we go.
Watch out!
Run!
Oh my gosh.
Ah!
Oh, whoa!
Don't end the episode there!
That's a good cliffhanger, I guess.
That is a good cliffhanger, but like it was starting to get really exciting.
Okay, I like this better now.
Yeah, but this is, I mean, this was a better episode.
Yeah, it got exciting again, because now we're all like, okay, so the big bad is the master, this unknown master.
The stature of this Sith lord seems to indicate the possibility of what you were saying, which is it might be the Asian dude.
He's acting kind of suss, and like, what better way to keep an eye on your apprentice, your acolyte, or whatever, who doesn't know what your actual identity is?
What better way to keep tabs on her than pretending to be this other person?
It makes sense.
I mean, that's what Palpatine basically was doing, you know?
I mean, he's just, he's in the public eye, and he seems like a normal person, but really he's exacting crazy plans, nefarious plans.
His greasy hair is to, like, distract him.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
The overall quality of the show is still not like stellar,
but I did enjoy this episode more than the previous one.
Obviously, with her and Yord, like, they have a history because they both trained together.
I'm just trying to figure out exactly what his deal is with her.
Like, does he have a crush on her?
Did he have a crush on her?
Like, what happened exactly?
Everything linked to romance has been largely just kept.
a lid on, you know? It's like largely been not explored. Even the stuff with the mom, I, in kind of
going back and forth with people in the comments, it's like, it didn't seem 100% clear what the
relationship is between the two moms. And I'm like, okay, you could only have so many episodes
where things are just not clear. You know what I mean? It's like things need to get clear at a certain
point. There might be something there, but it's, it's so subtle that I'm like, I don't even know
what that is. I enjoyed the landscape. Yeah. It's, it's a beautiful, beautiful.
location. I'm kind of bummed
that we didn't get to see Master
Wookie fight and stuff. Yeah, because
especially when they were hyping
him up to be, you know,
oh, it's so scary, he's a wookie,
blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. A wiki Jedi.
I've never seen one of those before.
And then it's like, ha ha,
he's dead.
There is a lot of kind of
blue balls going on.
I read somewhere that episode
five is supposed to clear a lot up.
Oh, so. Thank God.
Yeah, I'm just kind of
of holding out now for that.
I kind of wish they gave us some kind of battle
at the end of this episode because largely
not a lot happened in this episode.
It was a lot of walking around.
Yeah, it was a lot of walking around
and like trying to find the guy.
Yeah, it's a lot of like, well, where, where's the tracker?
We need a tracker for our tracker to track him
because he's being tracking stuff and we need to track him.
I'm like, okay.
And then Seoul was like, I'll tell you later.
I'll tell you later.
I'm like, okay.
So this is just basically a walkathon.
You know, that's what this whole episode was through the forest.
And that's fine, you know, if you're learning things along the way.
But I don't feel like I learned a lot about any of the characters along the way.
Not really.
But I think if anything, it's set us up for episode five with more excitement now.
Because to end it the way it did with like, oh my God, here he comes.
He's so badass.
Like, he just threw OSHA.
Like, and he's about to take on all these Jedi.
I can't remember exactly what the interaction was like.
When OSHA first met the Hornie, the girl with the horns, Jackie,
they didn't know each other before that, right?
No.
Okay.
It seemed a little bit odd in this episode that all of a sudden they're like besties.
I don't know what to, see, that's the thing is I don't know what to take from any of those scenes.
Am I supposed to take from that scene that they like each other?
Is that what it's subtly hinting at?
Or is it just that they're friends now and like something happened off camera that we didn't get to see?
Yeah.
You know, like, there's this, there's this constant thing.
I think people misunderstood some of my comments on the previous episode.
My biggest gripe with the show is a gripe that I have with a lot of Disney Plus shows in general,
which is it feels like cliff notes.
It feels like we're just moving past shit without earning things.
And so when consequences happen, I don't, I feel empty inside because I'm like, what, what?
Like, what?
You didn't take me through it, you know?
Yeah, you didn't show me how they became close.
Yeah.
We have to make those connections ourselves.
Yeah, I'm not, I guess I'm not feeling chemistry between anybody in the show.
At the end of the last episode, it seemed to get you emotionally.
But for me, I'm like, we went from the sister going, I'll kill you, right?
And then everybody's dead.
And then soul's crying.
And I'm like, I don't feel anything right now because I don't know what happened exactly.
And I don't know what I'm supposed to feel.
I don't know what happened exactly.
And this episode didn't bother to answer that.
Yeah, I think I just kind of attached a lot of emotional stuff to it.
Like, the stuff with Seoul, I was kind of like, wow, you know, he's now basically stepped into the role of being a dad.
The stuff that was really getting me was also the stuff with the girl's mom, where, especially with OSHA, where she was like, I'll let you go.
I love you, you know, but I'm, you know, we're never going to see each other again, but go do your thing.
It was well acted, so it got me.
Yeah.
I mean, I, I'm just not feeling a lot, is this sort of.
Sure.
You know, it's like I'm here and I'm experiencing and I like, I can see the plot unfolding
and I'm like, okay, cool.
But it's not, it's not moving me the way like, it's funny.
Like I was getting into it with someone in the comments because they were like, well,
it's better than Andor.
I'm like, I hard, hard disagree with.
What?
In what world is this better than Andor?
Yeah.
And so like, Andor moved me, you know?
Like, I really liked Andor.
And there's just outside of Star Wars in general, like I know what I'm supposed to feel when
I watch something, you know, like I know what an emotional response.
being elicited in me feels like, and I'm not getting that here. I'm just kind of watching stuff
play out. One of the things that I realized is in the previous episode, I had no connection to
anyone in that episode. And so it all resulted in everyone kind of being story props. They don't mean
anything to me. They're just a function of this plot that I don't really have an investment in. And so
here, it's sort of similar where I'm like, these people just feel like, like mouthpieces for
moving things forward. Only in this episode.
it didn't really move forward too much.
I thought the way they introduced the Sith Lord is cool.
Yeah.
Like the way that he just shoved me aside,
OSHA aside, and like the Jedi are like in for it now.
Like the, I'm excited about that fight.
I'm hoping it's going to be good.
Yeah.
All of the Jedi just like, you know, light sabers out.
Let's go.
You know, it was really rousing.
It was really exciting.
And I'm like, okay, well, maybe if we're not getting, you know,
a super involved.
story emotionally like let's nail it with the fights hopefully that would be really fun
hopefully yeah hopefully so i'm looking forward to episode five with the action all that i'm hoping that
i'm able to connect with the characters as the show goes along i don't have the highest level of
optimism but i am hoping for that because that's what makes you know entertainment strong yeah
for me is like characters i can connect with so let me let me put something to you okay let's say that
Half the Jedi squad gets slaughtered.
Well, I don't know half of them.
Would you care?
No.
Okay.
Because, like, the only ones I vaguely care about are Soul, Yord, and Jackie.
The other ones, I don't even know their names.
Yeah.
There's so many of them.
They got a whole crew of Jedi.
I'm like, that's cool and all.
But, like, I feel like they just added them into the scene so that they could die.
I mean, it was cool when, you know, the Sith show.
up and then all the Jedi pulled out their lightsabers.
Yeah, that was cool.
I thought that was neat, you know?
That was a nice little moment.
It was cinematic.
Yeah.
And it was exciting.
And of course, like, it cuts off before anything.
