Sena. Pals. What is up, everyone? Welcome back. I'm Achara Kirk, joined by Vivian Day, and we're going to be watching the Equalizer 3. It's finally out on Netflix, and we're so ready. So I actually did the reactions to the first two with La Jabi, but he got invited to like a fancy screening for the Equalizer 3. And I was like, you know what? I'm just going to skip that and I'm going to like watch it with someone else.
Yeah, someone like me.
Someone like Vivian, who you actually really enjoy the series.
Love, love, love, love the series.
One of my favorite actors is in the first one, Martaun Chukash.
He's amazing.
He was incredible.
I love the second one, too.
The action is always like on point.
So this one's going to be it.
All right, Equalizer three.
Let's go, baby.
He's relaxing.
Yeah.
Aw.
Oh.
It's on.
Nice.
Aw.
That was really sweet.
I want to imagine that, like, he's just spending the rest of his life.
Just in that small town and Italy, part of the community.
Just being happy because he deserves it.
Yeah.
Or is he not done?
No.
I don't know.
I think, I think maybe this is supposed to be the end.
the end? I mean, he is getting pretty old now.
Is he going to train? What's her name?
Oh, yeah, Dakota Fanning.
That was really cute, though. I really like, I really like just kind of the nod to Man on Fire
with that, with that casting. Like, it's really sweet because, you know, I don't think they've
been in another movie together since they, you know, she was so little and now she's an adult
and it's like, oh, what a cool, like, movie moment.
to be able to have that.
Although I did feel like, I don't know,
I thought that maybe she would be in the movie
a little bit more.
But, yeah, her character felt very, like, easy.
Yeah.
Like, it wasn't really developed.
I was hoping she would have more too,
but maybe, that's why I'm like,
maybe there's going to be more.
Yeah, maybe.
I mean, that would be one way to take it.
But I guess, like,
they just kind of wanted to have a full circle moment
where, you know, with the reveal that that was her mom, I just didn't really feel like Dakota
Fanning's character had an awful lot to do because I thought it would turn into like kind of
a buddy cop situation or something where they were actually working together, but she just got
taken out. That's not how he works. By himself solo. Yeah. But it was cool for me that he
acknowledged how she found him. Because for me it was like, this is what I would have done. And that's
what you did. So it's kind of like respect, you know, they're kind of, it's kind of promising for her
where you're like, okay, she's super smart. But yeah, they could have done so much with her. I don't
know. Kind of a missed opportunity, maybe, but I guess the main focus of the story is on him. So it's a
nice ending, I think, for the series. If it's just like, okay, you know, he's been trying to
retire for three movies. So, so now maybe he is properly.
retiring. Just give it to him. Yeah. Not John Wicott. No. I don't know. I don't know.
These days it's like we'll just continue with a franchise until it's like well and truly
dead. And then like and then some yeah. Yeah. The action was so good. It felt new still. It wasn't like
okay, boring, you know, like how many ways can you off someone, you know? But yeah, they did really
well with some jump scares and some stylistic approaches with that I like that a lot music was always
on point yeah I had high hopes and they delivered so I'm happy about that too yeah I thought it was
really cool that in the in the beginning they just show us the aftermath yeah of the whole situation
in a way that was almost more impactful than watching him do it it was just more mysterious to have
the the dude come in and be like through what
just happened in here.
And then the reveal of him
in that room with like all of the smoke
and he's sitting there looking like a badass.
It's like, yeah, that's a cool,
that's a cool intro to the character
who we already know is, you know,
a formidable guy just by himself.
There wasn't too many, like,
crazy things that he was doing himself.
I don't know how to explain it properly,
but I like that because it makes sense
because he's older now.
You know, there's only so much
Denzel can do.
Like, you don't want it to be completely unbelievable.
You know, like, of course.
Like character.
Yeah.
There's, like, a certain level of, like, suspension of disbelief when you're like,
I don't know how old Denzel is, but he's, you know, he's up there.
And so watching him, like, take people out like that, they did it in a way which felt
maybe a little bit more grounded.
Like, it could have gone super crazy, but they were like, no, you know.
And I like that for a large part of the movie, he, you know, he, you know,
really had to heal, you know, because he nearly died. Yeah. And then he, like you said,
he wasn't just better in a matter of days. Like, it took months. And then, like, it totally made,
made sense as to why he's now fully integrated into the community. And they're all like,
oh, no, we, you know, we love you now. You're a part of us. What I appreciate, too, since it was in
Italy, you know, it stayed on brand with the Equalizer franchise, that grittiness, that kind of
darkness kind of very like ominous foreboding energy because every time we see italy it's like
slapped with that golden hour and it's slept with like oh look it's so warm in the essence but this
one was like that that's italy oh my god that is a certain vibe that we never get to see yeah
which is really nice it totally was in in line with the equalizer color palette um because every time we
edit these videos.
You guys probably don't notice, but we do this for you, okay?
Because the Equalizer is such a dark movie.
I'm talking about, like, just in terms of lighting, it's dark.
And so when we've done the edits for these, we always, like, bump up the exposure
so that you guys can see it better on YouTube.
A little inside baseball for you.
But, yeah, no, they very much were just in line with that kind of, like, grayish,
bluish tone that they put on the on the image but yeah i mean it was i enjoyed it i liked it
it was a fun it was fun equalizer movie i don't know if i would go so far as to say like this one was
my favorite number one for life number two for me the villain was also really like easy too
like the characters felt kind of easily written which i was okay with because it's still a good
story and the action was really good but yeah nothing was very um deep no
And then also, like, the whole, oh, he just, yeah, he just took out the brother really quickly.
And it was like, boom, gone.
And then the older brother comes along and he's like, oh, killed him.
And then he just kills him.
I'm going to get you all.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It was kind of easy.
Standard.
But it was fun.
It was fun.
It was fun.
And, like, I enjoy Denzel, you know, in this role.
And so it's just fun kind of seeing him wind down.
You know, there is.
For me, like, my favorite part of this movie probably was in one of the last scenes where
the bad guy is like crawling down the street and he like kind of tripped or slipped or did
something and Denzel did a little like hop like, oh, like get out of the way.
And for me, that was so brilliant because as an actor is like those moments where you kind
of, you are real in the moment where it was so on point with the character.
And I was like, Denzel, I don't know.
For me, it was like, that hop was said everything for me about him as an actor, as we already know.
But, like, he could have easily just, like, gone out of the character or just, like, stepped away or backed up or, like, giving him space.
But he totally went with it and, like, my character would do this, you know?
Yeah, he's totally smooth.
He's not even thinking about it properly.
It's just like, he's Danzel, you know.
He just is.
He's just doing it.
Robert McCall.
Yeah.
Two, C's two L's.
right two C's 2Ls that's right
anyway you guys
this was really fun
hope you enjoyed it
