Starting point is 00:00:00 Senna. We are watching The Hangover today. It's the same director as... Did you see Choker? No. Yes. Yes, I did. I saw it with a Charo.
Starting point is 00:00:11 I just remembered. You were the worst. I actually saw this a long, long, long time ago. I don't remember it too well. This is Kristen's first time. Let's go. Let's go. Wow.
Starting point is 00:00:22 That was like a lot more than the movie was. Yeah, they needed to end it strong. Like a hangover, I don't remember most of the movie. that movie. Like, I know I saw it. There's so much to take in. I remember the comedian, the Asian comedian guy coming out of the trunk in that sequence. And the tiger in the beginning, like the introduction, the cold opening kind of thing. Those moments, I can remember. Like, everything in between, I'm like, did I see this movie? But I enjoyed it, I think, even more this time than I did the first time I
Starting point is 00:00:51 watched it. It's more fun just like watching it, you know, with Kristen. Hey, thanks. I wish that we were like, if we were watching, this in like just a living room setting I probably would have been up dancing for the majority of it. You know what makes it work so well. I would have drank with this one. What makes it work so well is that it's not just like ha-ha's, it's not just comedy.
Starting point is 00:01:11 Like there's an actual story threading this all together. And so you're also engaged in the adventure of it. A lot of comedies like they just focus on jokes and like being stilly for the whole film. Like it was funny because of the serious moments. In fact, the part that I liked the least was the cops.
Starting point is 00:01:27 I didn't like that part. The cops, like they felt like they were hamming it up and kind of, you know, ribbing. And I'm like, no, like, what makes this so great is that they're taking it seriously. You know, like, the situation is what's funny, not the people necessarily. So that's, yeah, that's why I like that scene at least. But everything else was great. So those pictures, like, really caught me off guard. I wasn't ready for that.
Starting point is 00:01:50 I feel sorry for the guy who got married because he missed so much in this film. No, he, but the actual, like, adventure he was part of, though. I know, but I'm just saying in general for the film, this film is so much fun. Sure. That, like, I'm like, a hardcore guy. He didn't get that much. He was very forgettable, unfortunately. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:08 But Alan, he's hilarious. Oh, you're talking about Zach Allen, Aphicus? He was so funny. I actually really liked Stu, too, the dentist. Ed Helms. It's funny because in the beginning, I was like, oh, my gosh, this guy is, uh, and I'm like, I love him. He's all wound up. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:24 No, he's my favorite character in the film. He's so believable as that guy who's just trying to, like, you know, be logical. and keep it together and see it through to the end, but also, like, kind of low-key, constantly anxious and panic. Because his friends, you know, strong-armed him into this situation. Like, he didn't necessarily want to put his credit card down. He was forced to do that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:41 But it all worked out in the end. That was good. They had, like, great dynamic. I like, at the end, when Stu's like, you were a horrible person. Like, he just stayed so true to his sweet self. Yeah. He couldn't even call her what she was. What she deserved to be called?
Starting point is 00:02:57 Yeah. I mean, in fairness. To her, he decided to stay. This film's so wild. I felt like it was very vagus. Yeah, I mean, he decided to stay in that relationship up until the film started. So I'm just saying, like, he chose to be with her. She was relentless, though.
Starting point is 00:03:11 She was pretty awful. Sometimes you don't know any better, you know? I wonder why they decided to make Bradley Cooper's character a teacher? I guess it came into play in the police station. Like, that was the one instance where it came into play. But, like, otherwise his profession didn't really matter. It didn't, but I like that he was a teacher because he was so hot. No offense to teachers.
Starting point is 00:03:27 But I feel like in the group, you know, he's like that hot guy, but they didn't give him like the status that normal hot guys would normally have in a film. Like what? They're like, okay, like you have a dentist, right? I don't actually know what Doug does, actually. I don't know either. But I like that they just gave him like a mediocre job. I don't think it's a mediocre job, but I see what you're saying. It's very middle class.
Starting point is 00:03:49 Sure. Yeah. Yeah. I have nothing against teachers. Like, I, you know, I just, you know what I mean? Like when you have that hot guy, if you give me. If you make him too successful in a film, like, I feel like it wouldn't have worked.
Starting point is 00:04:01 You know what I mean? Like, I feel like he needed it. Why else is he hanging out with these guys? Sure, sure. Okay? If he was too successful, he wouldn't hang out with these guys, but it just kind of shows like,
Starting point is 00:04:11 yo, I'm a little bit like, a little mental too. I get what you're saying. You know what I mean? Yeah. It just, it makes him fit into the group. I think it was such a well-told story, I think, was what this comes down to, though.
Starting point is 00:04:24 And I think that's why it holds up all these years later. Like, I have thought about, Well, you know, I haven't seen Ace Ventura Pet Detective in a long time or a lot of Jim Carrey films from that era. I think you just watched Cable Guy not too long ago. How was that? It was good. It was actually funnier than I thought it was going to be. Okay.
Starting point is 00:04:38 Because, like, I don't know how well those comedies hold up. This is, like, very much structured around a solid story. You know, there's, like, an objective. We've got to find our friend. And it's all an adventure of that. And, like, there's so much craziness that happens along the way in just the endeavor to find a friend because you're getting hit with all of this information of something that transpired that you cannot remember at all. That's a wildly strong premise for a movie.
Starting point is 00:05:02 I feel like that's kind of hard to pull off, too. I feel like it was like, if you sat there and you're like, okay, but they don't remember anything, it's almost like, okay, where do you go from there? Well, it's really cool because, like, the only person who knows what's going on is the writer, right? And so they're kind of like uncovering stuff like a mystery novel along the way, and I think that's pretty awesome. What I'm curious about is how you do two more of these movies.
Starting point is 00:05:22 I haven't seen part two or part three yet. I'm looking forward to watching them. You think they'll be just as good? No. Um, but they made part three, which indicates to me that part two at least was successful. Yeah. So I have, you know, that's as much as I can get out of that. What I would guess is that part two and three don't are not the same.
Starting point is 00:05:38 But part two is fun. Part three is less fun because they didn't make it part four. Otherwise, I imagine they would have kept going. You know, why not? Why not keep making, but you're making money, you know? Why not? Yeah, just keep going. But I imagine that the stakes get higher with, you know, each progressive film.
Starting point is 00:05:52 It's like, how do you, how do you keep going and continue to make a profit on these movies without them ending up in space like Fast and the Furious. So anyway, I thoroughly had a good time with this. Hopefully you guys did as well. And I look forward to watching part two and three. And hopefully you guys are as well. I'm Jabby Coy. This is... This is... This is Pinole. Peace out.
