Senna.
Pals.
It's been a minute.
What's going on, y'all?
We were watching the penguin in the final episode of the season.
Very excited to jump into this.
Here we go.
I mean, this is up there as like one of the greatest of all time.
This is up there as like one of the greatest of all time.
all time. What a, what a show. That was incredible. What a show. I mean, golly. We took a quick
break, uh, because Courtney had to take a call. I backed it up a little bit because I knew we missed
something important. Selina's her half sister. What? That's what it said. That's what, because we
were like, kind of chattering over it a little bit. That's right, because Falcone was her dad.
And Falcone killed her mom. Oh, right. Right. So this is one of the best shows I've ever seen,
like, just hands down. I'm just like kind of tracing back over it in my mind and just, you know,
the ability to kind of trick me again and
again, I haven't experienced that since
Whiplash, the movie. I know you never saw that
completely. That's one of my... Wiplash
is my favorite movie of all time, and one of the reasons why
is because of that very thing where I didn't
feel like I could predict where I was going to go next.
Here, it was a similar thing where I'm like, I kind of
have a sense, and then it kept like flipping
on me, and I'm like, I love that it kept turning on
a dime, like, quick, and I'm like, oh, shit,
the acting, the way it's shot, the music,
the vibe, the surprises
in the show, like...
Just everything. Yeah. Everything about it.
It was engaging and incredible.
And to your point, like, it kept me guessing.
Normally, I can guess everything.
Like, I see what's coming.
I did not see him killing Vic.
On top of that, you know, you have a lot of, like, Marvel properties that, not to, like,
compare or buttheads between, like, DC and Marvel, because I love both.
With a lot of Marvel shows, it's, like, a lot of, it's so preoccupied sometimes with fan service.
This is not occupied with fan service.
It's not, like, trying to hit you with cameos and stuff like that.
This is more about we are here to tell the dopest show possible.
Here it is.
I'm like, good God, thank you.
Like, what a feast.
They did it perfectly by just mentioning Selena Kyle's name
and then giving us the Batman signal at the end.
Like, that was a perfect show.
And I never say that.
Like, it's very rare.
Colin Farrell's performance.
Like, you know, one of the things I pay a lot of attention to
is reactions from actors who are not allowed to say as much in a scene.
And I mentioned that in the courtroom scene
between Oz and that politician.
but we had a similar situation early on in the episode
where Oz was strapped to a chair
and he's got to listen to all this stuff
from Sophia and then his mom
and it's all just reactions
and all of his reactions were fantastic
they didn't feel like used up
and it's like everything felt unique
if that makes any sense like it's all happening in real time
he's got to be one of the best actors ever
like his ability to pull this off
and make me believe he's that dude
you know what I mean
going through all that
I think my mind is just overwhelmed
Like, I'm just, I'm, I'm flabbergasted by his, not just his performance, but his commitment to, I want to know, did he have to have a chiropractor at the end of this series?
Because the way he was walking, I'm like, that cannot, you cannot be, you got to be permanently messed up.
But he looked fantastic.
Like, it was incredible.
The makeup, everything about him, it was just powerful.
I want to know how he got that scar across his face, you know?
Like, there's so many more stories to tell.
with this character if they you know come back with a season two but to your point like
Marvel has never had a show like this that that is so just solid solid yeah yeah I almost don't want
a season two just because I'm like I don't don't ruin it just like it's just don't mess this up
well I don't think we no no I mean I'm pretty sure it just goes back into the movies again like
this is sort of an in-between things to hold us over but it's served as so much more than just a stop
gap you know it won't well be on the scope of the of the assignment you know because like these
things are supposed to to me when the marvel shows were dropping it was more to just kind of keep us
occupied between the movies which are like the big tent pole projects right right this i'm sorry
this is better than the movie like i really like the movie and they maybe should not be compared
and maybe it's like apples and oranges but it is the same universe and like this was so gratifying
this was incredible and i think that you know like like you're saying you know it's this this
opportunity to tell more stories or to prepare you for the next film.
So it's almost setting us up for the penguin to be the next big bad in the next movie
because it's just like now that we understand who he is and why he thinks the way that he
does, that's going to underscore the Batman number two, you know what I mean?
And then just think about it.
Once Batman 2 and what if that sets us up and we get another anthology type series,
where we're following Selena Kyle.
Yeah.
And the through line will be Sophia.
He really is evil.
Dang.
Like...
He really is.
The way they ended that ship by the river, I'm like, oh, my God.
Like, just like, in case you forgot who you were dealing with.
It was the kind of vibe I was getting.
Like, don't...
Let's not get it twisted.
He is not a good dude.
Right.
It was reminding you.
But for me, it was almost like, okay, you lost your mom.
I think that was a way to show.
us that he actually did mean to kill his brothers. Maybe. Maybe. He actually did mean to kill them
because everything he said is about like how family is your weakness and then he takes out Vic. I thought
this was going to be like, okay, you're the only thing I have left. You know what I mean? Like you're my
and then Vic's like, yeah, you're my family. And I'm like, did he plan to kill him in that moment or
did he decide to kill him when Vic said you're my family? It could be. I mean, that's, I think that's
yeah. Yeah, it's up to your interpretation at that moment. I believe.
because it could go either way.
There's an argument to be made for both.
It seemed to hit him, you know, when Vic said,
you're my family.
Like, there was something that came over his eyes,
and it was probably a thought of, like,
no, this has to go this way now.
You said the thing.
And there's no, there's no, there's no take backsies.
Exactly.
This is it.
This is the path.
You're my Achilles heel, you know,
because he got in that situation because he loved his mom.
That kid went above him.
Idolized him.
He saved his life so many times.
But that really just goes to show you the power of manipulation, the power of manipulating love.
That's what's really scary is he got that kid to love him.
And it was all to just facilitate his desires, the outcome of his desires.
That was it.
The kid ultimately didn't really matter.
It was just, it's about the goal.
Like eye on the prize kind of thing.
It's like, what can you do for me?
It's like the kid really should have left when he had the chance with a girl.
But it's almost, you know, it's like that story.
like the frog and the scorpion.
He had so many opportunities to leave.
He did.
He decided to stay.
And so it was like, if it wasn't this, it was something else down the line.
Like, at some point he was going to get taken out.
And I, like, both are bad.
I would have rather he, I mean, yeah.
So there's no good outcome for him.
He decided to stick around because he wanted something.
And I feel like there's any number of ways that's could have played out over the,
I'm so surprised they did this, man.
I'm a nervous.
Because, like, they did what they didn't do in Breaking Bad.
Yeah.
Because Jesse Pinkman...
Jesse's Pinkman was supposed to die.
Yeah.
I'm devastated.
Yeah.
Which, okay, so I know I've said before that I went to Comic-Con and I saw this entire cast.
And it makes so much more sense why everybody was giving Victor his flowers, like, on state.
You know what I mean?
Because that was, like, his only Comic-Con.
Oh, my God.
I can't believe he killed him.
Kristen Milioti.
she really did it she really did the damn thing this whole cast was fantastic the except for you know
we all know we all know we all know we all we're thinking of but at least us dr julian rush played
yeah i forgot about him i so that's the answer to your question i totally just moved him right
off the chestboard yeah the fact that he just first of all the fact that he wasn't there the whole
time she was doing all you know like she helped him bring you know jail break oz's mom's mind yeah
And then he just vanished until we see him again at the prison.
I don't even think she was at Arkham.
I think she was in straight prison.
Prison.
It looked like Arkham.
But it doesn't matter.
But he quit Arkham.
And now he's back.
And like, hey, I got your mail.
Like, what?
Yeah, I agree with you.
You know, who knows?
If they do a season two or the films, whatever, he'll be back.
And so we'll see if he's been around.
And so I don't know if I don't know if he grows anymore or if he just continues to do that thing
that's continuing to get him work.
You know, he's in a safe space acting-wise.
and it continues to pay the bills,
and I respect that hustle.
Like, you know, you keep making those Benjamins.
You know, however, if they keep paying you for that,
then just go with it, you know?
Yeah, stellar cast across the board.
I love the direction, the writing, the music,
everything.
Like, this is such a fantastic show.
It was like a long movie
with so many amazing twists and turns
and surprises along the way.
I just, I cannot believe what we've watched.
Man.
It feels like we don't deserve it.
It's so good.
It's so good.
Yeah.
And I am so.
pleasantly surprised at how baffled and surprised we were by everything.
Brilliant.
Hands down.
You know, immediately for some reason, I was like kind of comparing it to stuff like
Sopranos or something.
And I don't know.
I guess because it's a mafia related thing with the accents and all.
And so, you know, the dark ending reminds me of Sopranos as well.
That just, anyway, I'm going to go off on a weird tangent again.
We should just wrap this up.
I loved it.
Loved it, loved it, loved it.
Oh, my God.
Amazing.
Thanks so much.
Peace out.
