Sine.
What's up, everyone?
Welcome back.
We are here with another X-Men movie.
I don't think I've even seen this one,
because I pulled it up and it's, what?
Wolverines in Japan?
The Wolverine.
She pulled it up.
She was like, I don't even think I've ever heard of this one.
Yeah, what happened?
I didn't know there was like a whole other Wolverine movie.
I'm shocked they took it to Japan, though.
I know.
Oh, yeah.
That's interesting.
BT-dubs. Kristen grew up in Japan. She speaks Japanese. Better than English.
So all of you guys who are like, Kristen says words funny, that's because it's not even her first language, okay?
Anywho, you guys, without further preamble, let's jump into it. Here we go.
How is this possible? As I told you a long time ago, you're not the only one with gifts.
Oh, I don't even know if I've ever seen this before or if this was one that I missed,
because I don't, I was like, this is like a fresh view for me.
So I guess I didn't see it.
But, my, oh yeah, this was actually really, really cool.
And then seeing that James Mangold directed this, I'm like, he directed Logan.
Yeah, he's a good director.
Wow, okay, this one kind of got past me somehow.
But yeah, what did you think?
I think it's one of my favorites.
Really?
I loved it.
Yeah.
I loved the second one.
Oh, like the second X-Men movie.
Yes.
Yeah.
But I love this one too.
Okay.
This one, I'm like, this one, I was so excited and, like, but this one was intense.
I think this is by far the most intense, like, out of all the X-Men's we've seen.
Yeah.
This one had my blood pressure up.
And it really, really had me.
Like on the edge of your seat?
Yeah, I was like on the edge, but I was like excited.
And then I was just like all these little, I don't know, I really enjoyed it.
I think it's the violence, the level of violence in this Wolverine.
I don't think we've seen in other X-Men movies.
I feel like they really pushed the violence on this one.
I really feel like we didn't see as much blood in any of the other movies.
And this one was just way more violent, which I enjoyed.
It was a lot of fun.
It was like super thrilling.
And especially that bullet train sequence was crazy.
That was wild.
They went hard on the action.
It was like, okay, we love Wolverine, you know, for all of the different things.
And I appreciate as well getting some of his backstory, like just more of his character.
But like...
I'm glad we did healing.
Yes.
I love that we kept with the depression.
And then all of a sudden we remembered who the F we are.
Exactly.
And I love the fact that he got to feel what it feels like to be human.
Yeah.
And how shitty that is.
And I think like, I feel like,
it's not all shitty, but yeah.
No, but you know, like if you have a power like his,
I think now he's going to appreciate what he has on a whole.
Yeah, 100%.
Yeah, because he was, I think he was just kind of taking it for granted, right?
Like, especially when in the beginning,
when he was just getting shot up and everything,
when your fighting style is I can just run at anything because I know I'm going to be okay.
Oh, yeah.
It's so different than if, you.
you know that you could get hurt.
I feel like this was a very,
this was a humbling experience for him.
Yeah.
Because like you said,
he's used,
his skill is to just,
I don't think I just go
because nothing can touch me.
And I just don't care, right?
Yeah, it hurts, but whatever.
It heals in a second.
This is the first time
where he actually had to somewhat think
a little bit of a head
and actually kind of realize
I can really like get hurt now.
He's not good.
There are consequences.
And you can tell he was like actually being a lot more careful
with certain movements like on the train and stuff
because he already could see.
He's like, I'm not healing.
Okay, I got to really pay attention and like act quick
versus before if he got hit, he would just be like,
it's fine.
Yeah.
It was really, really interesting.
I liked the story as well and how it's tied into World War II.
just because all of that stuff
it's really distressing to see
I think especially when like you know
we all know what happened
to see that and to see
Wolverine kind of
be in that moment
in history was also
really interesting
and yeah I just
I enjoyed this so much
it was a lot of fun
I loved it
absolutely 10 out 10
wow I'll give it 10 out of 10
from Kristen
I liked it
Yeah.
10 out 10.
I'm feeling generous.
Yeah.
You know what?
It's got so many things that are fun.
It had a lot of different elements to it, and they executed it so well.
And normally, like, I feel like with so many different scenes, sometimes it doesn't look right.
Okay, you know when you're going from scene to scene?
Yeah.
And sometimes when you're watching a film, you're kind of like, it looks like it's kind of out of place.
There were moments where I'm like, this could be out of place, but they did such a good job.
at switching over that it, I was like,
I'm sold.
Yeah, it was just really, it was fun.
And it was also fun to get a story with Wolverine
where he's just kind of, he's on his own, right?
And we had that with the origin story.
But this is like his own little side mission
where he got to be in an entirely different location.
And I think as well as Westerners,
a lot of the time we like romanticize Japan.
And so it's really fun to just kind of see him
in a different country in Japan with like a different culture and he's kind of got that like fish out of water thing which he often has anyway because he's just you know he's so gruff and just kind of out of place in society a lot of the time anyway but then he's got to be in this whole different country I'm a little bit biased when it comes to Japan because I like I said I grew up there 10 years I lived there for 10 years grew up there from elementary and up in all Japanese school being the only American so it's like that was all I knew
Yeah.
So I'm a little bit biased about my home.
I will, I will throw that out there.
So as someone who's, like, Japanese, like, how did you feel about the representation of your home?
I liked it.
I liked it.
I love, this is how you know something's doing really well.
Yeah.
Okay.
With the moment they choose to film in Japan, have you noticed, everything that, like every film that we, almost every film we have, that does really well, okay?
or a series or whatever does well
they always take it to Japan
at some point. Hell yeah.
Have you noticed that? Yeah. You know why? Because Japan
is freaking amazing and it's like no other place.
It's the one place you can go
and it's just so different and
bizarre. You can take things
to another level and it's believable
because it's true. Like and these
things or you can take it to a
like there's so many levels to Japan
that you can either go
from being wacky
and bizarre and it's real
or you could go from being
peace, Zen and like
traditional traditional you know
you could also and then you're like wow
or you can go back to like
another time frame and you're still
and you get like this old
like this old vintage
like wow that's so
beautiful and like you just no matter
what no matter what era you want to hit
or no matter what kind of vibe you want to hit
in Japan Japan's one of the few places in this world
that can hit anything.
They can execute almost every single thing that's possible.
Like all the things.
Also, I appreciate that they didn't show an image of Mount Fuji.
I feel like every time, you know, you get a film that goes to Japan or like Tokyo or whatever.
It's like immediately, Mount Fuji, there has to be an iconic Mount Fuji shot.
Yeah, or they do the crosswalks.
Yeah, there's Shibuya crossing.
Yeah, so I do love that they didn't show those.
No, yeah, it was like a different side.
Yes, I like that they didn't focus on like the tourist stuff or like the things that you normally see in films.
That's just kind of like, you're like, okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, we've seen this shot so many times.
They're gorgeous shots.
Yeah.
And they're just, you can't not, not want them.
But I like that for this one.
They stayed like very on track.
Yes.
And it wasn't like too much.
And it was just enough to be like, this place is pretty good.
I'm sorry, I just had to look up our handsome archer man.
The actor's name is Will Yunli.
And he is Korean.
I saw when I looked at his face, I was like, this man looks Korean.
His accent was pretty good, though.
Oh, yeah?
So, like, it was spot on.
It was pretty good.
Good, good job.
I didn't think he looked Japanese either, and I kept doing this.
And I was like, nah, don't overthink it.
I was this close from saying something, but I'm like, if I say that, and then I'm wrong.
I know, right?
I decide to keep my mouth shut somehow on that one.
Yeah, just because he looks so similar to another young, hot Korean actor that I'm super into right now.
He also kind of looks like the guy from, it's a TV show that they film in Hawaii.
Hawaii 5-0.
Yes.
Daniel Day Kim.
Yep.
Yeah.
Kind of has his vibe.
Handsome.
Handsome, handsome Asian men.
I met them.
Worked with him.
Oh, nice.
I apologize for how chaotic this guy.
I'm not apologizing at all.
I'm not.
But that's what you get.
That's what you get.
That's why you're here.
When you join us for a reaction.
It could happen.
I don't know.
If you don't want the realness of whatever comes out of our mouths,
this is not the place for you.
Okay, but that's why you're here because it's unfiltered.
Yeah.
At the end of the video, you guys.
Thanks so much for sticking around.
Appreciate you.
Hope you had fun.
