Senna.
Pals.
We are watching X-Men 97.
We're continuing forward with episode seven, bright eyes.
Bright eyes.
Bright eyes.
Bright eyes.
I'm going for this.
Who is that?
It leaves us in an interesting place though, for sure.
Lots of questions.
What a crazy episode.
I know.
Yeah, that was not so Balozo for sure.
Like so much happened.
The characters are dealing with a lot of stuff.
Like, Rogue is going through her grief and it's just intense, you know?
Like, she's not handling it well.
She's handling it as well as anyone else would, I guess.
Yeah, maybe.
But, I mean, she's going to an extreme.
I just feel like it's so unlike the X-Men.
To be fair, we didn't see her murder anybody.
We saw her hurt people.
She dropped a man off the side of a building.
Did she think he was going to be okay?
Technically, she didn't murder him.
Okay, he didn't die.
She didn't know that.
She didn't know that.
Her intent was murder.
Fate worked out as such that she did not kill.
He was already undead or something.
I know.
That was crazy.
Like so many twists and turns, having the X-Men
and the MCU crossover in this was really fun,
full-on seeing Rogue with Captain America in the same frame
was just like so awesome and mind-blowing.
They did show us the what if at the top of the episode
in the Marvel logo, and I was like, why did they do that?
That's peculiar.
I never saw that before.
I never noticed it before.
And then, of course, you had the crossover of the characters.
And moreover, the animation style,
I could be mistaken and just, like,
projecting, but the animation style looked different at certain points in this episode.
Like, there was one moment where Rogue was doing like a flying haya kick.
Oh, yeah, with her foot was looking really big.
It looked very unlike anything I'd seen in X-Men before.
You'd see stuff kind of like that, but just the particular animation fluidity was just
different from what I recall from the old X-Men, right?
Up to now, up until this episode, it'd been feeling like the old X-Men in terms of just
the vibe.
Right.
Yeah, there were just certain instances where, like, it all.
almost looked like what if for a fleeting moment here and there.
No, yeah, it was cool.
I mean, I thought all we were going to get was General Ross, right?
And, you know, when Rogue came to that base, he's all like, yeah, well, we built this to
Hulk.
And I was like, oh, that's cute.
That's like a cute little, you know, nod to MCU.
And then not long after that, it was like, no, full on, Captain America and the shield.
It was just mind-blowing.
And also, so much fun just to see him.
him in his like classic look yeah you know yeah i enjoyed watching rogue fly off the handle no it was
it was definitely interesting we don't often see our heroes just kind of go full dark like that and be like
i don't get a shit it would be though it would be though that her her first kill is someone she can't
even kill i know i know it's it's kind of saving us the audience too because like i don't think we
want to see Rogue go that dark, you know?
Like, it's interesting, but then it's like, okay.
We don't want to see her go Rogue.
I know.
The whole time I was thinking, I'm like,
what did you expect?
Her name's Rogue.
Of course she's going to go rogue.
And then Wolverine's all, like, fully supporting her behavior,
which, honestly, I'm not surprised coming from Wolverine.
Yeah.
The tracks of the Wolverine's behavior.
It's just like, whatever, I don't give a shit.
It's fascinating, though, that her.
All of her trauma and the regret and feelings she has
seems so exclusively tied to Gambit.
It just seems very little mention of Magneto.
Well, maybe it took Gambit's death to make her realize
just how important he was to her
and like how she actually felt about him.
Ain't that the truth.
Yeah, you know, sometimes you've got to go away for the girl to realize,
like, oh my God, you were the one that I liked,
which is stupid.
but, you know, that happens more often than not.
Well, I mean, in the last episode with her and all of that,
it seemed like she was on her way out, away from Magneto.
Yeah.
And so she was going to, you know, leave in part ways.
It's like star-crossed lovers, you know,
and then the whole thing kind of blew out of proportion.
No indication yet of reversing things, you know,
but cable showed up.
And so he might have a path to undoing the things that have been done.
Yeah, I mean, it seems like he's coming back to help them, right?
because he's got knowledge of, you know, who these mega sentinels are
and their weaknesses and all of that.
And so maybe, you know how, like, in Terminator?
He's got a bit of an awkward time traveler's wife situation, doesn't he?
Like, he can't quite show up exactly what he needs to.
It's just like, oh, dang it.
And then things go awry, you know?
Yeah, maybe there isn't like an exact science to it.
But yeah, it does kind of make me think of Terminator where, like,
he has to come back in time
in order to fix things.
Somehow he keeps finding people's clothes to steal
that look exactly like the last pair of clothes
he was wearing. It's pretty wild.
Time Travelers, you're talking time.
I'm talking about time of cable.
Oh.
You mentioned Terminator.
They show up naked, butt ass, naked every time
and they got to steal clothes.
Oh, sorry.
And then so I was going about Time Traveler's wife
because he had to do that too.
Yeah, but that was a hilarious ending, by the way.
time traveler's wife uh so it was told to me i was like this is fucking hilarious it's funny
it's very sad freaking it's terrible it's comedy no no but anyway uh cable i was saying cable
like he's always showing up like properly in the same exact exact outfit maybe he doesn't
have to come back naked anyway this is we digress that was the joke but he finds like all the same
weapons and everything every time we can keep going yeah anyway please stop if that's not an awkward
laugh. I don't know what it is.
Yeah.
Well, go on with your opinions then.
No, I mean, this episode, I'm just kind of, my brain is discombobulated because of all
these crazy things with the introduction of Bastion at the end.
I'm like, who, I don't even know who you are, but you're really scary.
Well, the fact that he's frightenizing with, you know, Mr. Sinister,
and Mr. Sinister is not just ripping off his head,
but there's like this kind of power thing here.
It's interesting, you know?
Yeah.
In a way, it's like very subtly showing how powerful this guy is.
Well, yeah, because he, even the way that he talks to Mr. Sinister is quite patronizing,
you know, where he's just like, oh, that's cute.
But basically everything that you're doing is the things that you're not supposed to be doing.
And I know better, blah, blah, blah.
So the shaving thing always makes me nervous, always.
And then I saw the beginning of history of violence.
And I was like, yep, that's what I was scared of.
And so when they showed the blade thing with Magneto, I'm just like on edge, even though I'm like, there's no way they're going to, like, cut them up.
You know what I mean?
They're not going to jam that knife in his throat or do anything horrible like that.
But it still made me uncomfortable to see that scene.
Go ahead.
Although, to be fair, I know he was tied up and everything,
but isn't the razor blade made out of metal?
It's made out of carbon fiber.
He can't...
It's made out of carbon fiber.
Oh, okay.
I'm just saying, like, maybe he would have been fine anyway
because he could have just used his mind to make him stop.
It's made out of, you know, those plastic knives that look like metal knives?
It's like that.
Yeah, sharp enough to cut your beard.
tech in the future.
You know, if you watch again,
he really wasn't getting a shave at all.
He was.
It was like not really.
It was like basically a comb at that point.
That answered our question, right?
Because no one was really mentioning Magneto at all.
And so honestly, I didn't say anything at first for fear of being stupid.
So basically we had the same fear.
We did have the same fear.
That's why I asked you, I asked you straight up, like he's not the only one.
one that died right you're like i was like i'm not taking that bait oh my god it's not bad i was
trying to like you know at least we're going down together i was nope nope you go down alone you go down
by yourself so what i get told it every three way lots of things to resolve in the next
four episodes is it four i think i think i just looked on i mdb it's at 11 episodes i think no no
no there's three more there's three more miss kirk i look you looked on i mdb but
it's wrong. I'll tell you that. There's only 10 episodes in this season. If you're wrong,
then you know what? You're wrong. And I'm going down by myself. I wouldn't let you do that.
Wow.
Episode guide. Press it. See, 11. No, press it.
Oh my God. Now see.
