Senna.
We are carrying on with our X-Men journey.
This is Kristen's first time ever watching X-Men.
I have seen this before a long, long time ago.
It's a revisit for me, but it's a fun time.
We're watching X-Men The Last Stand.
Here we go.
Oh, that's so sad.
Bestie's not here to play chess with you.
Drop it.
Checkmate.
Oh, oh, oh, maybe.
It's a temporary thing.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Oh, oh, oh, okay.
No, yo, if it's a temporary thing, our girl's coming back and she's coming back with vengeance.
Oh, hell yeah.
And he's screwed.
Oh, my God.
I want that revenge.
I want that victory.
Yes.
So badly.
Wow.
I feel like there's so much to talk about with this movie.
I'm pretty sure there's going to be
like an end credit scene or something
but there is a lot to say
I think the general consensus
is that most people
don't really like this one
and at first as I was watching it
I was like I'm having fun
you know like I like it
but then I think it's just more of the choices
that they made with the characters
that really pissed us off
because it's like okay you killed Professor X
and then you killed
well first you killed Cyclops
then you killed Professor
No, no, no.
You first, you killed San, what's his name?
Cyclops.
Yeah, no, I'm sorry.
Yeah, it was Cyclops.
Then Professor X.
Which was fine.
Which was fine?
Well, not him.
I'm talking about Cyclops.
Only because he was like, you know, he was like, he's just kind of there sometimes.
Well, yeah.
But at the same time, you're kind of bummed out because you, you know, you're so bummed out.
But then when they took our professor, that's when we got pissed off.
Continues.
Yeah.
And then, and then obviously taking out Jean Gray at the end of it as well.
And I think it is what you said, which is like maybe when.
when they put this movie out they were like
yeah we're just going to end the
X-Men movies here and we're never going to do
anymore that's what I took
from it if I watch the like
I mean until you see the end and I felt
like while they were doing it at the end they're like
actually maybe we should just do
a little tease like uh-uh-uh
just in case we want to bring it back
it wasn't my favorite
it wasn't my favorite and I think that's
okay to say I think it's most
people's not their favorites I think the second one
out of the original three
I think the second one is everyone's favorite.
This one, I didn't really like the storyline personally.
Like, it was kind of weird.
But I also started feeling like I'm just watching a military film.
I didn't feel like I was watching like X-Man for a set for a bit.
I like the idea they were going for, but I do not feel they executed this very well.
And normally, like, I'm the person that normally likes the opposite of the norm for some reason.
And for the first time, I think I'm on everybody's side with this.
I wish, since we're going back in time,
we had more of like back, like the back stories on people.
Oh, don't worry.
Don't worry.
They've got you.
Okay.
We're going to watch some stuff.
Okay.
So don't worry.
Okay.
But if you're going to go that route, like, I don't know.
Well, if you're saying that's to come in the future,
then you know what that means?
That's the only way that they bring back our beloved characters because they messed up.
I eliminated them too soon.
Right.
No, I think that was a mistake.
I agree.
I think the way they eliminated them, too, was shit.
I was bombed, but they didn't hurt.
They didn't destroy me.
Yeah.
And to me, it was so quick.
And I'm like, dude, you guys, you don't just eliminate them in a way where I'm like, I don't care.
It's like, I care.
But at the same time, you didn't give me the emotional damage that I needed.
No, for sure.
I know that sounds bad to say I needed my emotional damage.
But I think that's the thing.
It's like they built up these characters and we really liked them.
But for whatever reason, when they went, there wasn't that emotional payoff where we're like, now we're crying because we love them so much.
Exactly.
And there should have been.
So I feel like they treat them like they're just like some ordinary fill in or something.
And that's what I can't stand.
Right.
And I think as well, there were definitely things that I had questions about.
And the thing that you brought up, I was like, oh, that actually makes so much sense.
because when you were like, you know what would be really good right now is if Rogue showed up?
Because if she'd had been there, then she could have just, you know, borrowed powers from everyone.
She could have borrowed Wolverine's healing, got up real close to her, and then got her power or whatever and sucked it out.
But that's the thing.
That's what I thought, like, okay, for me, Rogue's powers, we haven't even tapped into it.
But it's okay, because his powers come back, so I think she didn't lose all her power yet.
Yeah.
All right.
So I'm going to do that.
But in my opinion, my professional ex-man opinion.
Now that you've watched three movies.
Now that I've watched three films, you know, like I'm kind of, I'm a mutant myself, okay?
And I'm an expert at this.
She doesn't know what she's doing.
Nobody's trained her to be so powerful and to like grab these things.
I think she's one of the most powerful mutants.
And she's just, she doesn't know what to do other than, you know what I mean?
She's too scared of herself.
and I was hoping that maybe there's a way
to bring the ones we lost like back
into the equation
because our dude man he did say
he said hey our dude uh what's his name
professor no the metal one oh magnito
magneto you guys I suck at names in person
I was with a friend the other day and I
her name's Sarah and I called her
um you can't even remember what you called her
or something I don't know what I called her
Oh, here we go.
Pause.
Whoa.
Okay, that's...
That was solid.
That's cool.
Because I like how they brought that back because they, remember they showed that scene about the ethics or whatever?
Charles, your ethics, my man.
He just, like, popped up in somebody else's body.
But, hey, you got to do what you got to do, I guess.
So there it is, the way that they bring him back.
Charles.
Yeah.
Ethics, bro.
I mean, you're a villain.
I don't know.
I kind of feel that way.
But back to Rogue.
Okay, back to Rogue.
Yes.
Is that who I was talking about last?
Yes, you were.
No, I wasn't.
Were you talking about your friends, Sarah Samantha?
I'm just letting them know.
I don't remember names on daily basis.
I was talking about Magneto.
Uh-huh.
And I was talking about...
What do you say?
Oh, that's what I said.
Thank you.
I was talking about how he brought up to...
What's the girl with the red hair saying for the woman?
Gray.
Thank you.
I was talking about how he told her, you're different.
You can do anything your mind, anything you put your mind to.
Yeah.
She can do anything.
I take that as she's invincible.
She can take the death and she can bring the death back.
That's how I interpret that.
Mm-hmm.
Okay?
She can do anything.
There's no limit to what she can do.
So, in my professional X-Men opinion.
I thought that she would somehow like snap out of it and then bring them back
or Rogue would be like, and she's like, whoa, oh my God, I can see everything you can do.
Let me reverse some things or bring them back into play.
Yeah.
You know, something like that.
Like that's what I thought they were going to do or something along those lines,
but in a cooler manner than what I just said.
Yeah, I don't.
But then we killed her.
So, yeah.
Now that power's gone.
I honestly, that's a really good point
I don't know personally
because I haven't read the comics and stuff
I don't know the extent of Jean Grey Phoenix's powers
but she is considered to be one of the most
if not the most powerful mutant
I call bullshit though
Okay go on
I'm still saying it's Rogue
No, okay so
But I mean yes I think she's the most powerful
But I think because Rogue can be anything she wants
She just doesn't know how to do it.
I mean, but then again, she has to get close enough to touch you.
Well, so here's the thing.
And I've been reading a lot of comments.
She can be.
In our reactions.
But I think the consensus is that they did rogue dirty in the movies.
Because I've been watching the animation, X-Men 97's Great.
Or you can even start by watching, like, the old school 90s animations.
But I think those are more faithful to the comic books.
And Rogue is a badass.
Like, she is so powerful.
She is so cool.
And I think, like, the way it seems to work is, like, she grabs your powers, but they stay.
So she has all of these powers.
But then here they take it away.
Yeah.
Because they have to gimp her somehow.
And then they also had to write her out of the story so that they, she couldn't just come and take her out.
Like, they needed this ending specifically.
So they were like, oh, we have to make it into this thing where she's like a sappy teenage girl.
and she wants to, you know, live as a normal human
so that she can be with Bobby,
which, I mean, we were not happy about that.
This one I'm not psyched on, guys.
I'm not filling this one.
No.
They just messed up the characters.
They did.
I felt like they messed up the characters
to who they are in their core.
Yeah.
And it's fine to, like, you know,
have some, like, mental issues of, like,
I got two personalities.
That's cool.
But I don't know.
I think they dropped the ball.
on like in more than one ways
even the storytelling
and like the story line
and like how they ended up
on this island
I mean I think
I still enjoyed the film
like I had fun with it
but it definitely has issues
and it's not
it's not like the best representation
of the characters
no but also I wish they would have played
with our Blue Girl a lot more
after after she
lost her powers. Yeah, they just took her out. Yeah, I don't know. I wish that we saw more of her
where she, she's such a fighter and a feisty one. There's no way she would have just lied there
and be like, okay, I'm done. She would have been like, all right, I'm in the game, like,
oof, it's on, you know what I mean? Yeah. I wish there was more or she ran away to the house.
Yeah, I thought that she was going to come back to the X-Men and be like, you know what? Like,
Magneto's a real dick and I'm going to help.
you guys out now. But instead she went to the government. I think they dropped the ball there
and didn't utilize her character in a more compelling way for us to be like, who, you know,
and like, it makes me mad. This one irritates me. I'm done talking. I'm done. I'm going to cut
myself off because I'm personally irritated with this one. I love X-Men. Yeah. No, I love this for
you because I'm like, oh, wow, Kristen's just like so invested in the characters. You remember their
powers, sometimes even better than I did. I was like, oh my God, Kristen, have we turned you? Have we turned
you into a Marvel Stan at this point? Yo. And I found him. You did. I found him. You know.
Stanley. Yeah. Oh my gosh. Who am I? Yes. Not only that, I'm following it, pretty damn well for the most
part, I think. Yeah. Yeah. And I think my questions are actually valid. They totally are. Um, yeah.
And all you people who talk shit, go suck it.
Like, here I am.
I'm coming out with my debut.
See, you just got to be patient with me.
I'll get there.
Yeah.
She's getting there.
She's getting there, you guys.
We've turned her into an X-Men Marvel stand.
This was fun.
I had fun.
It's frustrating, for sure.
It is.
For the first time, I think, for the first time ever, I think I feel what the Marvel fans feel
when I hear them speaking about films.
Because normally, I'm not, no offense, but normally I'm like, oh, my God, it's just
felt like, you guys, like, oh, my God, they're so worked out.
And I'm like, ah!
You're like, no.
All right, I'm officially in there.
Yeah.
See?
I get it now.
This is what we feel.
I get it.
You know?
You get it now.
I get it.
This was a canon moment for Kristen.
You'll understand at some point.
Yeah.
Guys, make sure that you're subscribed, so you know when we drop the next episode in our X-Men
Watchers.
And we will see you next time.
I'm a Chara Cook.
