It's been an interesting week for the hobby.
I mean, freaking Cooper Flag, Logo Man, Patch Auto being pulled on a break.
If you were the one to have pulled this card and your options are taking the Mavericks
bounty of 32 years of tickets, whatever.
Golden's $1 million plus front plus the auction or alt-steel that they announced last night.
If it's purely what I think is going to do is the biggest number and I just want the most fun
and sizzle out of it, golden is going to play it up. He's going to drive a number that no one
else can, and that's why he's golden. The real answer is you don't sell it. The real answer is how
do you make continual money on it forever? You put it in an RV, you put a camera on it,
and you run a live stream, and then you never sell it, and it makes it a million a year,
and you still own it. Okay, I have two counters to that. Okay. One.
I'm Ryan Alford. And I'm Bella Schaefer. And this is Collector Nation.
you all in one place.
All the videos, all the podcasts, all the reels, all those drops you want right here, right now.
What's up guys?
Welcome to Collector Nation.
Ryan and Bella today.
It's just R&B.
We're just R&B.
Yeah, we are.
Always.
I guess that's, I don't know if that was R&B or not.
So I feel that is not.
R&B music here.
I don't know.
What comes to your mind when you hear R&B music?
Um, not that.
Luther Vandross?
Not you being the one singing it.
I know.
I'm so not R&B.
Uh, but it's been an interesting week for the hobby.
I mean, uh, freaking Cooper Flagg, Logo Man, Patch Auto being pulled on a break.
I probably couldn't ask for a more exciting and, you know, captivating break,
especially for a little breaker in Rhode Island.
I know.
And you know what?
I like.
and I hate about this story
as it relates to the whole hobby
is I'm following,
I'm following victim to what I don't like,
which is, you know,
this product released,
we're recording this
a couple days before it airs.
It actually hasn't been out a week.
It released last Thursday.
And I feel like it's been out for a month.
Yep, I'd agree.
Because two weeks ago,
we were as a national.
Yep.
And that feels like a year ago already.
Uh-huh.
And so it's like, I'm like, man, you know, it like, I felt like it had been a month of people ripping this box.
And it was actually just like four or five days until the Cooper got hit.
Because I was writing the story we'll talk about.
And I was, I caught myself.
I'm like, because when I wrote the story had only been out four days.
Like, this is what the hobby does to you.
It has so many releases in, you know, you're like, oh, it's been out forever.
Six days.
Yeah.
I mean, it's insanity.
And the insanity that it's brought to the mainstream news,
not even just hobby news, but just mainstream news.
I literally had my mom calling me up being like, what is this?
And I'm like, I couldn't even tell you because the bounties that they got going on
on this product and on this card is insane.
I know.
And like, I don't know.
I'm sure for like mainstream people, do they have nothing to do with it.
They go, oh, you know, kind of.
And I kind of made the analogy with the article.
The golden ticket is found already.
And the reality is there's still some ridiculous cards in the set.
So that's not justice.
But it does sort of leave this, oh, it got found even though it shouldn't.
Even for me, I'm like, why am I thinking this way?
Because even a year ago, like I got like a $500 card and there's still probably a $1,500.
I don't have any, but a lot in these boxes that hasn't.
I'd be thrilled.
So it's like it becomes when you have these things meet
where a rare card, a cool card,
and a rookie that happens to be this good.
And you know, I kind of one way started to frame it like,
well, how does tops?
I'll do themselves.
And it's true,
but they don't get to control what years get the big rookies,
you know?
And like this year with football.
Yep.
And which we'll talk about soon.
But it's like, I don't know.
It's all fast.
And I think it's all starting to paint the picture for why the hobby is growing and it's exciting.
And it's because it's actually like five things wrapped into one.
And it's all entertaining on some level.
Yeah, I do think it's interesting that, you know, like obviously going into the product, everyone knows it's a one of one.
And the chance that you get it is probably less than getting struck by lightning.
And the fact that the chance of getting that excites people in.
enough that when it gets pulled, the price of the box is certainly going to go down over the
next couple of days just because now people are like, ah, shit.
The one card I wanted that I could probably get has been pulled, you know?
But it's like, that's just not even, it's not even in the question.
Yeah, exactly.
And I'm looking that up because I actually want to know.
Because these boxes literally, like the day they came out, you know, mega boxes were like 80, 90,
value boxes are like $40, $50.
They were in the high end anyway.
And immediately they were 90 for a value,
180 for a megabox.
And I told people, I thought this would happen
because what happened when Topps Crom originally came out,
the first, not the update.
Yeah.
It was first NBA came out.
And there was already more expensive
than most stuff, right from the get.
And I would go in every, I'd go in Walmart or whatever.
It was like, it sat on the shelves.
because it was like 90 a mega.
Like when most megaboxes to date had been 45 to 60,
Top's chrome, they set the standard right out.
They go, all right, blasters are 45, the mega is 90.
And for the first couple of months, it was on the shelf every time I went in.
And then people started opening it.
And then they started Cooper Flagg was playing because it was beginning of the season.
And then everybody started to realize how transcendent a player he was going to be
and how good the rookie class was.
And then it disappeared.
And it shot up to $200 a megabox.
And this market actually started where the other one ended.
Because everybody, the secret was out.
Everybody that was, you know, the scalpers,
whatever we're going to call and people to collect.
They were going to get their hands on it early and often.
And so it drove the price to where the old product took three months to get to.
And now you're actually seeing the reverse.
because now it's coming down.
Yeah.
Old products started the same price, same value,
didn't change really that first month or two.
And it's the exact opposite because the demand curve changed.
The knowledge has changed.
The rookie class is established.
And now the Cooper's been pulled.
A couple others have been.
Khan, I think that pulled.
Yep.
I think a little bit of the maybe unnatural chase,
like people that might normally dabble a little that bought a couple extra boxes.
Yeah.
Because it didn't take much.
So people don't realize about the hobby.
It's not as big a universe as you think.
Not so.
So if just 1% of the population jumps into something they don't normally do, whoa, it eats up availability quick.
Yeah, for sure.
So anyway.
I mean, you can talk to the sensationalism, if that's even a word.
It is a word.
Yeah, sensationalism of the hobby now and of certain players.
Like, I mean, we can talk about kind of the auction houses.
And if we can talk about this product, we're going to rip it.
Oh, okay.
You start ripping it.
But just like the sensationalism of all of the auction houses talking about it constantly.
And like, I mean, some of these deals are literally insane.
I mean, the Mavs starting at, you know, 32 years of court side seats.
And the fact that that is probably the worst option you could get out of all of them is crazy.
Yeah.
So I kind of want to pose the question.
And that was only good if, and I don't, maybe it included plane tickets, but if you don't live in Dallas.
Well, there was like a list of like 10 things.
It was like assigned jersey, like all these things.
But look, oh.
One pack is like lower than the others.
And didn't you say that if it was uncovered or did you owe you?
open the bottom.
Never mind.
Open the bottom.
Started from the bottom now we're here.
And they're all upside.
I would almost bet that there's no auto in here.
There's not necessarily guaranteed one, but we'll say.
But anyway, keep going.
Keep going.
I like where your head's up.
So if you were the one to have pulled this card and your options are taking the
Mavericks bounty of 32 games plus.
the long list of, or 32 years of tickets, whatever.
Golden's, a million plus front, plus the auction.
Pristines, you get 100% of whatever it sells for,
or Alt's deal that they announced last night,
which is they're starting an auction for the bounty,
and if you choose to go with them, it becomes real,
but you have a tangible number,
because all the bids that are currently being placed are true bids.
Yeah.
So do I get to share the idea I shared with you this morning
or do I need to pick one of those?
Pick one of those, then you can share the idea.
I think differently.
But I'll say this.
Dallas is owned by Mark Cuban.
Mark Cuban is a very connected person.
I'd want to know if that got me bigger than the deal itself with Mark.
Having Mark on your side, if you're a business person and need to get in certain doors,
it might not be about a million.
I mean, I know it's life changing money for most people.
It would not change my life.
I'm not a billionaire, but I've been in business for a lot.
a long time and I've done okay.
And so a million dollars,
either direction on that,
isn't as important as relationships and bigger plays.
So I would,
I'd want to talk to Mark to know,
are we buddies?
Are you hanging out with me at every game?
Because that brings way more than a couple,
like the connections,
the relationships.
And then second,
if it's purely about the cash,
you know,
I know Jared would do something crazy
and I just needed the cash.
the most cash that I get.
Jared was going to pump it up.
He's a great marketer.
I'd work with him.
Like, if that was my episode,
I'm giving you every scenario.
I know I'm not giving any of it.
Because it's complicated.
It is.
But then, if it's purely what I think is going to do is the biggest number and I just want
the most fun and sizzle out of it, golden is going to play it up.
And he's going to drive a number that no one else can.
And that's why he's golden.
And he's been doing it forever.
And he's the OG.
And it is what it is.
and I love them.
And I, so if I wanted the show, it's going to him.
I want the business, I'm going to Mark.
And if I just want as much cash and to have a blast doing it with somebody that I like,
if you're Jared.
So there you go.
And you know, you start going down the business route.
And I think that was the most you answer you possibly could have given ever.
At least I help people understand.
Yes.
And I think you're probably on an island of very few people that,
would take that offer.
Yeah.
But I see what you're saying.
And especially like, you know, in the position you are in, like having a podcast,
having a card shop, like things like that, you know, that would be a good publicity.
The real answer is you don't sell it.
The real answer is how do you make continual money on it forever?
You put it in an RV.
You put a camera on it and you run a live stream and you sponsor it and you drive it all
over the country.
people pay for it to show up or you have sponsors.
And then you never sell it and it makes a million dollars.
It makes a million a year and you still own it.
Okay.
I have two counters to that.
Okay.
One.
What if he gets hurt?
It's like, well, okay.
He gets hurt, whatever, something happens.
That's point one.
Point two, I feel like that's like telling.
You know how like when you win the lottery,
you're not supposed to tell anybody you win the lottery because like.
Yeah.
I wouldn't be destined to be on the RV.
I don't have to tell him about that one.
No, but what if somebody steals the RV or steals the car?
You're so called insurance.
That thing would be insurance for $20 million.
Okay.
And anybody would do it because they know it's worth it.
It's more liquid than, it's more liquid than what most insurers insured cars that might secretly be clunkers.
You know, your Audi might be one, you know, gasket away.
It's not, by the way.
It's very nice.
You never know.
But you never know.
And it gets insured.
You did to insure a liquid, you know, hell yeah, they would.
All right.
They probably do it for free for the publicity.
Fair enough.
I'll give you that one.
So, yeah, it's not getting stolen.
I'm not going anywhere.
It could.
That'd be the best thing you'd happen, 20 mil plus interest.
Whatever it is.
You can't tell them your secret.
No, I'm just saying, I mean, call me if you want to advice on what to do with it.
That's what they need.
Hopefully they got a good advisor.
They probably had a freaking lawyer on speed.
And I was also thinking about this and watching the breaking video.
Like at first, when I first watched it,
I was like, I feel like they're not that excited.
Like, I feel like if I opened that card, I don't know what they got.
No, I think they knew they do.
I knew they do.
Exactly what they got.
I just think they were in shock a little bit.
I think it was a mix of like shell shock, but also like a, oh, fuck.
Like.
What does this mean?
No, no, we just, we have to go give this to something.
Give it away to whoever got it.
And some guy named Mark Jackson, I think, or, I don't know.
His name was on the breaker thing.
I saw it.
Yeah.
I don't know somebody, you know, change that or something.
It's like, it's kind of like a mix.
Jason Williams was his name.
It was the name on the sheet.
He had everybody's name on who got it.
I don't know if they changed that or that was a joke.
But anyway.
But I just think it's funny.
Like, you know, like, I'm sure a part of them kind of died inside.
Yeah.
But also, you know, they're getting more talking about it.
I'd be pumped.
Because I'd make t-shirts.
Oh, my God.
They're probably getting hit by every media out there they may not want to.
Yeah.
So, hey, like, I'm opening cards.
So they'll got to keep talking.
while I'm doing it.
If I get anything crazy, oh, that's cool.
Well, speaking of live selling, we have an exciting announcement.
And if you follow us on social media, you may have seen.
But our card shop collector station is doing our very first day,
debut break slash live selling on Sunday, August 16th, from 6 to 8 p.m.
approximately.
Yes.
I'm super excited.
I'm going to be on them.
I don't know if you said that.
I did not.
So thank you.
eBay live.
I'm super excited.
I hope to see you all there.
It's going to be our boy, Jason, and yours truly.
There might be some cameos.
I don't know.
We'll just see.
Well, I think for the sake of your home life,
you should go have dinner.
You know, the boys and everything with me.
They can like pop in.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
We'll see.
See how confident I am.
Have it all figured out.
You know, I think it's going to be wonderful and beautiful and messy and chaotic.
And I think that's what makes it all part of the fun.
Yes, exactly.
And I am nervous, truthfully, but I'm like, you know, the amount of people that are doing it is a lot.
And if they can figure it out, I have.
have faith that I can figure it out.
But it would be really sad if I put all this work into it and nobody joins.
So if you're listening to this before Sunday, August 16th, please join.
I would be eternally grateful and you'll probably get a shout out for me.
Yes, exactly.
Live selling.
Yep.
I mean, everybody's doing.
So we've got to get in.
And here's a thing.
We're going to lean into the fact that we're doing it at a full card shop.
So obviously we're not going to make it like we're going to have set structure.
We have certain things lined up.
But the great thing is.
is we got a pack bar with packs of anything so we can rip and ship anything.
Yeah.
We got cases and stuff.
So we're not going to make it, you know, unorganized.
We'll have it organized.
But we're going to lean into the fact that it's a full store and we're in it.
Because a lot of these guys, some of these guys are in full stores or I see, you know, the Dave Adams guy.
But he's in the booth.
He's kind of in, he's in, I call it the whatnot prison, you know, like he's in his booth.
He's not leaving that thing.
And of course it's not.
but he might not have three other people that can run around, show stuff.
You know.
So we're going to lean into experimentation.
Yep.
I think it'll be fun.
And kind of on the experimentation, a lot of people when I posted that,
we're going to be doing this, they were like, why not, whatnot?
Like, why are you choosing eBay Live?
You know, I think it's kind of exciting that eBay Live's starting
and is kind of like the young guns in the chase.
And I am excited to kind of grow with.
with them. And I know it's probably going to be more self-explanatory and whatnot,
but I think that that kind of makes it even more fun is kind of being part of that experience
and being part of eBay's live selling endeavors. Yeah. We've got a good relationship with
eBay. And, you know, we're a free agent right now. But we've got relationships with eBay,
people we've talked to, you know, they, they open up the platform. I was going to do this last
here. We want to get on there and, you know, do what we intended to do, give it a role.
But, you know, we've got a live selling functionality within the collector station app.
So we'll see how it goes. We might, you know, hey, we might be on multi-channel, you know,
like we got to get standard. It's not that we're going to start something and move. We'll keep,
but we might do one night here, one night there. We might try a few different things while
while keeping a schedule so people know to expect us on certain channels, certain times.
But, you know, I think we'll see how it goes.
Yeah, I am super excited.
But we'd appreciate you joining and checking it out.
And hey, if you jump in and you leave it, there's a comment section.
Like if you jump in live, say you heard us on the show.
Yeah.
We'll do something.
We'll send you a shirt.
We'll send you a pack.
We'll do something, you know, to acknowledge that.
Yes.
Okay, switching gears a little bit.
Do you want to open any of these?
Sure.
I'll open one.
How's it feeling?
Hatch auto or something, you know.
I mean, that was, I think, the cleanest open of a patch I have ever had.
You're getting to be a pro.
That was like, that was really clean.
So just, again, reiterating.
We're opening Tops Chrome update.
And it's a mega box.
Who is that?
Um,
Tyrese.
Halliburton.
Yep.
Yep.
He's been hurt.
It's going to be interesting
how he comes back.
He was a dog in the,
I mean,
in the playoffs,
single-handedly.
And I think he's going to be back.
Anybody else?
No, that was a whole lot of absolutely nothing.
I guess five or ten books, that one.
So kind of switching gears a little bit.
Today, since we are recording this
a Wednesday. It is the
Topps pristine baseball release
day.
People, oh, and an
auto. Kobe Sanders.
Never. I should.
I literally was going, when you were like, oh, there's probably
not an auto in here. I was going to place
a bet with you. I was like, I bet you
that there is an auto. Oh.
I pull it. I should have guessed.
You know, Kobe Sanders,
the chromographs card, auto.
And I have to admit something.
He's a rookie.
I need to see where he played college.
I don't know.
Okay, let's see.
I always think about, though, you know, people like us or whatever,
these are pro athletes and people like, uh, um.
This is a crazy photo of this guy.
Let me see.
So this is a Josh giddy.
And I mean,
I don't think they could have chosen a worse photo for him.
I'll put it up on the screen.
Yeah, but this one, that one's bad.
I mean, as an aesthetics gal, that's Kyrie Irving.
base or
base or something
it's always hard to tell
no that's base
oh here's a refractor
that might be
all
refractor who
um
Evan mowbley
good player
calves
so you're not with the calves
anymore
um Cleveland
yeah
yeah
yeah
uh
uh anyway
top's pristine
baseball
uh a little bit
about this product
is that it started in
2002
came back in 2020
and it's kind of supposed to be a more premium experience for a baseball collector
and what kind of makes it that is on-card autos,
which I think is kind of funny because, you know, we've talked with...
That makes you a special.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, we talked with Evan Parker.
We've actually got him to sign the card.
Yeah.
But I just think it's so interesting that that's now considered higher end.
And, I mean, obviously not now considered that,
but, like, that's what's making a set better is auto on-card versus a sticker.
And it just, it kind of makes me sad that there aren't more on-card autos.
And, you know, I know brands like on it are staying true to that, as we heard at the National from Evan Parker himself.
But I just, I think that's a funny distinction between them and tops.
Yes.
Those are moments in time, Jalen Brunson, pretty cool.
Oh, that's probably.
There's a good timing for his.
Yeah.
I wish it was a refractor or something, at least it's base.
but I bet you being the Knicks and him this year.
It's got a little value to it.
Probably got a little something.
Ooh.
Hey.
Oh, hey.
Brian James on the X-Fractor.
Hey, yeah.
Okay.
All right.
Little LeBronny.
LeBron James, X-Fractor.
And Kessler, who actually just, the irony of that is he's going to the Lakers.
He got signed to the Lakers.
He's in his Utah.
How do you know?
And look.
Oh, Brony Jr.
Oh.
Wait, that's pretty good for one-pack.
Yeah, Brody James Jr. and LeBron in the same pack.
They did that on purpose.
I have to say, I really don't like the way the X-Factor looks.
You don't like the checker-boardy.
I don't.
I don't like it.
I just like the X-Fractor.
The refractor.
Yes, I like that.
Also known as Hollow.
Yeah.
Sorry.
What maybe you called it, but.
I just, I am not a fan.
and I don't know.
I think there's cooler patterns.
Yeah.
And it's just not my favorite.
I like the super refractor one of one pattern.
Yeah, well, yeah.
The patch auto pattern.
Yeah, but pristine baseball, nice.
I did throw in on an EQL today.
I didn't get it.
Topps, I'm telling you.
Like, I'm tired of throwing in these EQLs.
I'm usually doing something else,
so I just go ahead and see if I can get it.
And Steph Curry on a base.
And then for the one millionth time, I got nothing on the QL for Pristine.
I try to get a case of hobby boxes.
And I can get it.
But, you know, I like to try the UKO to see if it's actually equitable.
Well.
Did you get anything?
No.
I got all the good stuff.
You always do.
You always do.
I mean, John Moran, it was cool.
It's like, remember what it was.
Yeah, I don't really think so
But I do have some
Topps Series 2
This is a pack out of a hobby box
And then Top Series 2
A Hobby Exclusive Pack
Oh
So one three to us
Which one would you like to open?
Okay
That one
It's shinier
You're like
Mr. Crabs
Like the shiny thing
There you go
Okay, let's see.
Baseball.
It's all top trips today.
Yeah.
I like that Jalen Branson, man.
I'm such a junkie, man, for cards.
Like, I just get lost in the sauce staring at them.
Hey, it's a good thing you own a card shop then.
I don't know.
And a card podcast.
Yeah.
The, but the on-card thing, we've got to, I might get, we might have to make some
shirts, no on, no sticker autos.
Yeah.
And backwards is usually good.
Fractor.
Taylor Rashi pitcher.
And nothing.
So funny, baseball is the one that's like they've played 12 years
or they're a rookie.
This guy's a rookie.
Taylor Rashi, he might be good.
Ask, uh,
Oh, that's good at the end.
You're going to ask me.
It's good.
Okay, let's see.
All right, what did I get, Tops?
Are we doing this for fun or was this first was something specific?
That was out of that.
hobby box that this came out of.
Okay.
And I thought it would be fun because it was fun.
Shiny.
I've actually never opened one of these, so.
I know you're a pro with all your hobby box.
And this makes me happy and sad.
I'll just say this right now.
And everything's a story.
But hey, I'm a podcaster.
I grew up,
butting.
Probably the best,
the first best card I got.
1886,
87.
And he passed away last year.
Oh.
He's a cubby.
One of the greats.
Ryan Sandberg spelled differently, but that's him.
He is, he's a, I'm pretty sure he's in the Hall of Fame.
And,
a little All-Star, amazing guy.
But I had a, I've still got a baseball somewhere with his signature at the house.
But anyway, that was so sentimental.
I know.
He is, good guy.
I mean, he was not very old either when he passed away.
Okay, Jason Wilson.
on the All-Star, good player.
Okay.
Zach Nito.
I was looking for Shohei, you know,
just didn't get it.
And then Chase DeLauder.
I mean, he's okay, I think.
But this, this wasn't,
no judge, no, uh, Shoah.
It's kind of like, it's like we were chasing the one of ones or something.
I don't know. Exactly.
Okay.
Well.
That Ryan Sandberg is closing out here, you know, football.
Your favorite time of year.
Yes, I'm so ready.
It's starting.
Owning a car shop and then having to wait this long for football season to come back around.
Probably makes it seem like it's 10 years longer.
You know, like I'll actually come out of the dungeon because I'll be watching football.
Yeah.
So who are, who are you selling before the season starts?
And then who are you buying before the season starts?
Caleb Wilson's.
Caleb Wilson.
Caleb Williams.
Got Jacob Wilson staring at me.
Caleb Williams, who I own quite a few of and bought actually five more this week.
I'm buying up PSA.
I'll just say this.
PSA on PSA.
Yep.
That could be a thing.
I'd be buying, at least in the short term slabs,
nines and tens of who you think is going to be hot.
Because again, if it's $5,500, you're not spending $85 on great.
So graded cars are worth more right now.
I mean, I think nines are going to be having a,
that's why I'm not.
I'm not having to buy all tens of Caleb's this week.
That's a nice little round.
I don't even want to know.
Yeah, if you don't.
The, uh, so I'm buying Caleb.
He's lost like, dude looks.
I was like, I didn't know he's getting that.
I mean, he's always, he's, he's a thick guy.
Like, not fat.
But just like bigger.
Yeah, bigger built.
And that's what I always thought he'd be a good pro because he moves around so well to be, you know, fairly thick and not just a, you know, total rail.
He's lost weight.
He looks good.
I think him and the, and everybody on the team was like locked in.
coach got him buying
Caleb Williams
sort of unfortunate injury
something unexpected
I'm buying on him
I think he's going to prove
I think Jaden Daniels is going to have something to say
if he can stay healthy
if he can just not get
you know banged up
yeah
then yeah I didn't even know that was on there
who
who put these on there
was just like the recommendations.
Yep.
Like smart people.
Yep.
Okay.
Ironically.
How ironic is it?
I did not look at this.
No, no, no.
I know you did.
Bell was pulling out the list that you had on screen.
So I'm two for three for so far.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'm selling Drake May.
Oh, okay.
Not because I don't believe in him, but because their schedule is ridiculous.
Yeah.
And I think they could be like three and three and people have been blaming it on.
So I'm waiting and I want people to,
start selling him, I'm buying him game five, six.
Okay.
When they're two and three, maybe, but they still make the playoffs because they got,
they have the team to do it.
And he's their coach.
They also have the legacy.
But I think they might go three and three to start and people are going to go, is he,
man, he was fools gold.
That's what I'm buying.
Buy week four with, with Drake.
This is not financial advice.
Do not take any of this as financial advice.
This is all personal opinion.
Wait, wait a few weeks on Drake.
Buy Jaden and Caleb now.
because I think they're going to come out hot.
Okay, what's your opinion?
And speaking of that, we got a card that's...
Oh, yeah, we do.
Yeah, over there.
Let me talk about it.
I know every detail about it.
All right.
Because I bought it.
Yep.
This is a clearly downtown, pretty rare card.
Clearly downtown rookie for Jaden.
And it's for sale here at Clecter Station.
It's online, thecletorstation.com, you're interested.
But these are really rare.
I don't know why, but the pop is just super low in general.
I think it's like probably one of the most beautiful cards.
If you get it in the light, we got it pretty tightened up in here because it's only by like scratching it.
Like 10 year old or something, but the, yeah, it is around 1,400.
The, this is a cool car.
Downtown, classic.
If you're going to have a Jaden rookie, this is the one you want or something like, a downtown Jaden.
Yep.
But I think this is 2,000.
$1,2,500 by like week five or six, if he does what I think he's going to do.
Okay, we'll bring this back up and see how you did.
Cam board is definitely buying.
See that on there.
Mendoza.
Yeah, that's my question.
I think it's kind of a toss-up of if you want to sell him before he can mess something up,
or if you want to buy him before he does really well.
I'm waiting and seeing because I don't think he's going to I think cousins
gonna start yeah I think cousins will start they have him as a last of training camp
as backup cue yeah so it's like what are you gonna say he'll get to go in like if
they're either losing a lot or if cousin sticks stinks it up or if they're winning a lot
like he's gonna probably get some reps but that thing might be for him to sit for a few games
So I don't know that we're going to get answers.
Maybe preseason, but preseason's like fool's gold.
Yeah.
I mean, Carson Beck, who actually looked, Carson Beck looked really good.
So did the guy from Georgia Tech Hayden King, King, both of those guys.
I know those backups, I don't overreact, but I'm overreacting.
They hadn't seen football.
They were throwing in some tight windows.
Like, I didn't, a new back.
had a first round talent,
like, because all the guys were talking about two years ago.
But he looked really poised, really comfortable.
I don't care if it was the freaking Hall of Fame game.
So we'll see with him.
Beck, I would probably buy it because his car is so low.
Yeah.
It's like, you can get him cheap.
And if he, if he does it play, they don't lose any value.
Yeah.
That's kind of the thing right now.
That's kind of why Cam Ward, I feel like, I don't think, I think you could buy him
cheap and not
get wrong
I mean his stuff
isn't dirt cheap
because he was
viewed with
Dart as a
you know
one two and sort of
values with the
quarterbacks
after
when Tyler Shaw
and Chuck or
whatever the name
is weird
as spelling
of all time
but
Cam will be
interesting to watch
and I'd be
buying him
for sure
I feel like
what's interesting
about Carson Beck
is that
you know
he went
fifth round
correct?
Yeah.
Yeah.
And we really haven't had...
The value pick right there.
Yeah, we really haven't had
an all-star player
that's gone that late in the draft
that you could get into this early.
Not one that was so perennial
thought of as a like round one guy
two years earlier.
And just, you know,
Georgia kind of fizzled.
They didn't have quite the talent.
He had some injuries and things going on,
I think.
And then he transfers.
It has a good year at Miami.
It was a national title.
Interesting.
It would be interesting.
And then,
Kade Klobnik with the Jets.
Can he be?
This was,
look,
I'm a Clemson grad.
I knew you were going to go down this guy.
Anyone going,
what the hell is he talking about now?
You can't have.
So.
After Clemson seasons and you put him on the Jets,
like,
yeah,
exactly.
It's like a double whammy for terribleness.
But if he can't win the stirring job over
I mean, you know,
for the only interception,
you know what I'm talking about.
Everybody figured out the,
let's just say he's got an avenue.
So we'll see.
But I own a lot of Cade,
just for whether he does well or not.
For your own personal question.
So my roommate's boyfriend is like a diehard Jets fan.
And I tell her all the time, I'm like,
girl, at least you know he's loyal.
You know, like, at least,
she know he's loyal and I think he
Gino Smith is the
quarterback and
no personal offense anything
we're all talking from a
that's what's always funny with the breakers like
busts on neat like I'm from Connecticut
I can talk all the shit I want about the Jets
I know you can't oh the Jets
dumpster fire
like yeah it's
you can only you can't
outrun your realities you know
in your history
like we say these things because your record
proves it.
They figure out a way to screw it up.
So we'll see.
But Gino Smith,
if Cade can't replace him after like game three or four,
then I don't know.
Hey,
you know,
he might absolutely kill it.
He was a fifth round,
a fourth round,
fifth round.
I don't know.
He was late too.
So him and Beck just had like a killer season.
That would be a great story.
I think you'd be like kicking your little feet like,
oh,
I'd be so happy.
I'd be so happy.
And Kay's a great guy.
He's a good guy.
He's a good,
You know, he didn't.
No, he does seem like a sweetheart.
We'll see.
But so who am I selling, though?
Yep.
Definitely.
Let's see what's on your list.
Oh, Shradur Sanders, maybe.
Probably because they're too high.
His problem is just too hard.
Anthony Richardson.
Uh, yeah.
That's on the list.
Trevor Lawrence, caution.
What does this say?
Production has plateaued.
The market's playing or draft hype?
Not results.
Limited upside with a real leap.
I will say some of his values priced in,
but he's got,
wait,
if they go,
like to the finals
or start scratch and super,
and they've got the talent on the team.
They surround it.
That coach is not playing around.
Yeah.
And they've had a turnaround in the last couple years.
I'll say this.
Cade,
I'm just sort of hoping because he's a Clems guy,
good kid.
I'm not putting any money.
there. I'm going to hold Cade cards because he's a Clemson great and played at
crimson, put his heart and soul into it, regardless of how he plays in the pros.
Trevor Lawrence, I can put in as another tier to go, like, what my eyes told me last year
and how good hit their coaches and how they're rounding into form. It doesn't guarantee it,
but there's evidence and belief, because I know what Trevor is. He's got the talent.
he gets a little wash mentally sometimes,
but last year he brought it back together.
Yeah.
I think last year was the first year that I saw the Jags
and was like, all right.
Yeah.
You have potential.
There's something there.
But I think that's kind of where the caution of buying him comes in
because it's still in that limbo of like, you know,
he, this is his fifth year, right?
Yeah.
So, you know.
but maybe he just needed
a season of
become seasoned you know
he's now not a young guy
is the same as like some of these
unproving guys because he's got some value
already baked in yeah
so he's taking a lot of dips
and turns and all that there's value already
baked into like Trevor's not going
from zero to hero
he's going from
mid to mid well that he might go to here
so it's like he might go if the car's worth
a thousand it might go to 1300
I don't know that it's doubling unless he's
just on fire, but he has that ability.
Like, he has the sizzle ability.
And I'm not just saying, he can throw,
he can put up five 300 yard games in a row and bring the sizzle.
There's certain guys that are going to get value that can't do that.
I feel like you're trying to, you know,
with the immense Trevor Lawrence collection that you have.
Oh, I could care.
I just told you about way more invested in certain players that will never be good.
No, no, no.
Mine's more that I believe that in him.
Yeah.
But I also think, and I've told us how the coin,
I'll tell you both ways.
He also can get sideways mentally, like,
like mistakes, like throwing interceptions.
He threw, you know, the guy came back and won the games
and four interceptions in the first half, like two years ago against Chargers.
I like, uh, what made that out?
So he's, he can go sideways.
as good as anybody.
But I think that coach got a in his ear.
That's just where I think the coach makes a difference with certain things.
He's also got baby number two on the way.
So he got a little extra pressure on him.
And then, you know, Josh Allen's value is already there.
That's what I'm like, you're playing, like for Super Bowl.
Like, is he going to become a Super Bowl and become a Hall of Famer?
So you're buying his.
I hope he does.
I like truly, he just, I want to like put him in my pocket.
I don't, you know, there's just like some people.
You just want to put in your pocket because they just seem so, like, precious.
Yeah.
He seems like one of them.
He is.
And I know probably every football fan is like, why would you say?
We're going to have my Josh Allen shoes up here.
That's, that's, to be on the table.
I thought about that.
Like, sit right there in the center.
I didn't want to deal with the magnet to be 100% on it.
We're going to talk about this beautiful artwork on our table.
Oh, yes.
That was before we leave.
So if you are watching on YouTube, if you're not, you should go to YouTube so you can watch this.
Should have been watching it all on YouTube.
But we have the collector creative artwork in front of us.
We got these at the National.
So in front of me, I have Mr. Ken Griffey Jr.
And then in front of Ryan, he has Michael Jordan.
You have two guys who may have heard of.
Yeah, I don't know.
They're pretty cool, I guess.
But these are their extra large size.
So Zach Nogget, he is the one who makes them into the cards.
and Murray Henderson is the one that actually does the art.
They are probably some of the most amazing people that I met.
And at least for me at the National,
like they were some of my favorite memories,
like talking with them, just their experience.
Like they are just salt to the earth.
We're actually going to be officially, unofficially,
carrying some of their products in store at the collector station.
But I just, you know, we wanted to shout them out a little bit.
If nobody buys them, I'll probably end up buying a little.
Yeah.
I mean, I just wanted to show them.
shout them out because they are truly...
And maybe we'll have some content coming out
that we shot a lot of. I don't know
if it is, but like going into
their, like, all that stuff.
Yeah, yeah, once we interview
Eric. That's right. Yep.
But truly want to just shout
them out because they are awesome people.
So go to the collector
creative or
Marie Henderson and go check them out
if you like what you see. And they have
a bunch of different. This was
the refractor.
One I think.
And Griffey Jr.
My classic favorite card of all times,
like is Ricky from Upper Deck.
And then a Jordan like collage montage,
as I recall.
And they're all like short prints.
They make them once.
They never make them again.
They do commissioned work as well.
Zach, if you're listening to this,
we love you.
Murray, if you're listening to this,
we also love you as well.
But anything.
Great guys.
Can we do more partnering.
They're doing awesome stuff.
Yep.
Anything else you want to share?
Any final thoughts?
You know, I think that's it.
Let's get some football rolling.
Yeah.
Appreciate everybody for listening.
And like, subscribe, follow.
Yep.
Share, tell your friends.
Tell your friends.
Leave some comments.
Oh, actually, one final thing before yesterday I was in the store.
And I was asking Cole if he needed anything before I left.
And this dad was sitting at the bar, the pack bar, not an actual bar.
Backbar. He was like, wait, Bella, like, before you leave, like, my sons were watching your content at the national and they just really love you.
And, like, could they get a picture with you? And his kids were like seven, maybe. I wanted to just simply pass away.
It was the cutest thing I've ever experienced. And I was like, wait, I have fans.
Oh, yeah. You never know. But it was just so adorable. And then I walked into this shop.
this afternoon after doing some errands.
And this guy was, he literally, I heard him calling my name after.
He's like, oh, I was just asking about you because I saw your content at the national.
And like, you know, you just appeared.
And I was like, you know, my ears must have been ringing.
Exactly.
Anyway, that was my.
I love that.
Yeah.
And look, I mean, that's what's cool.
It's like we're actually approachable.
Some people aren't.
And I don't know, I'm not naming games or even suggesting that about someone specific, more that we're just
and wanting to share what we're doing behind the scenes and try to add value to your collecting.
Yep. So if you're a fan and you live near South Carolina, come see our shop, the collector station.
I'm here Monday through Friday and Ryan's here 24-7. I think he sleeps in the back and showers in the back.
