Starting point is 00:02:54 crime and sports we're going to talk about well a crazy wrestler named billy jack haynes but more specifically we're not going to talk about him as much as as he he's worthy of his own bonus episode. We're going to talk about his insane Chris Benoit conspiracy theory and a couple of other crazy Chris Benoit conspiracy theories, because there's people out there that truly believe that Chris Benoit did not kill his wife and son or hang himself, but instead was forced to. You know, his family was murdered and he was killed and forced to hang. The whole deal. This was all forcible. It's a theory that some people really believe in and we'll get into it. And then for a small town murders bonus, we're going to talk about a guy who I like to call the Canadian BTK killer because he is one of the grossest people ever. The things he did were horrific.
Starting point is 00:03:43 The weird pictures he took were just like btk you can compare them side by side it looked like he was trying to replicate btk's photo album uh but the thing we're going to talk about is his interrogation of how this guy who was a high-ranking canadian air force official came in thinking nobody could touch him and an hour later he's like give me a map i'll show you where the bodies are the masterful interrogation of this guy was wild. So we'll get into all of that. That is patreon.com slash crimeandsports there. And, of course, you will get a shout-out at the end of the show
Starting point is 00:04:16 because, goddammit, we appreciate you. And Jimmy will mispronounce your name terribly to show our appreciation. That's how we do it. But he's trying hard. He wants to do it right. I'm doing my very best. What do you want from the guy? He can't pronounce some names. He's how we do it. But he's trying hard. He wants to do it right. I'm doing my very best. What do you want from the guy?
Starting point is 00:04:27 He can't pronounce some names. He's bad with Italian names. I can't read. Sorry. Yeah, tough shit. So anyway, do all of that. And also PayPal, crimeandsports at gmail.com. If you want to do PayPal, you also get a shout out for that.
Starting point is 00:04:40 That said, let's get into a wild story, shall we? Let's do it. Let's do this. We're going to talk about a boxer this week and i love the boxing episodes they seem to be extra crazy boxers yeah well any sport where your job is to punch and be punched in the face is a weird job that's there's not a lot of people with a job like that most people if you came home from work and you got punched in the face that day and you, you know, you came home, that would be for like three days. All you talked about was how you got
Starting point is 00:05:09 punched in the, can you believe I got punched in the face at work at work? I got punched in the face. Yeah. These people are like, going to go to work. Bye. See you later. I'm gonna go get punched in the face about, I don't know, six, 700 times. I'll see you tonight. And they just come home and their wife's like, how is getting punched in the face today and they're like pretty good and they just eat their dinner it's the weirdest job yeah to have same shit different day yeah just punching paradise yeah just punching punching punching it's like mma even there's wrestling involved this is just not just punching in the face just keep getting punched it's just so weird we are gonna switch it up hit me in the riblets but you know uh then went right back to the face he went back upstairs it was He switched it up, hit me in the riblets, but then went right back to the face.
Starting point is 00:05:46 He went back upstairs. It was good. He slipped one time, hit me in the balls pretty hard. That wasn't great, but then it was back to the face, and that I know how to deal with, so that was fine. We are going to talk about a guy named Adonis Stevenson. Adonis? Adonis.
Starting point is 00:06:00 That's actually... Okay, he boxes under and goes by Adonis Stevenson, but his actual name is Stevenson Adonis that's actually okay he boxes under and goes by Adonis Stevenson but his actual name is Stevenson Adonis yeah what right away right out of the gate we have a head what the fuck is happening here who did that and why uh well his name is Stevenson Adonis and he I guess flipped it I don't know if it's like he's Haitian. Okay. He's born in Haiti. But they go like kind of under French language rules there from what I understand. And I'm not aware of the French inverting the names like the Chinese people do. You know, Yao Ming. Yao was actually his last name.
Starting point is 00:06:38 You know what I mean? So in China. But then here it's flipped. But I never heard that here. I've never heard of that. What is going on? I don't know what's going on. He just thought Adonis was a cooler first name, I guess.
Starting point is 00:06:50 Do they do like we do in elementary school where we put the last name comma first? Maybe. He just got confused. I'm not sure. But I think maybe just Adonis is almost a nickname. It is a nickname. It's like a, you know what I mean? So it's like a nickname in one.
Starting point is 00:07:03 It's an alpha male. So I guess if you're going to box, that would be the thing to have. But he does have a nickname it's like a you know what i mean so it's like a nickname and one it's an alpha male so i guess if you're gonna box that would be the thing to have but he does have a nickname also he has a couple he calls himself the king of the ring and he wears a big crown and all this crazy shit he has a stupid he has a big robe and a crown and he's a little wrestling he's infusing in that's not bad showmanship. But his main nickname is Superman. Oh, boy. Very original. It's a lot of superiority in this man.
Starting point is 00:07:31 There's a lot of superiority, which it's boxing. You kind of have to be that way because you're trying to make another man think that they're going to get beat up by you. Until after your wins tally is an actual number. If there's a one, you're no longer the king of the ring.'s the thing if there's a one then you're not uh superman you're not super anything yeah superman wins in the end of the movies in the back of the day i'm sure now they're dark i haven't seen them but i'm sure now they're like dark and like you know superman like he decides he doesn't want to talk he doesn't want to save anybody because he's like having a dark time about like a sexual assault that happened to him.
Starting point is 00:08:07 And like, you know, right. When he was like 14 and wasn't really an assault, but it was another kid and he was kind of into it. But then at the same time he felt weird about it. And so that's, no,
Starting point is 00:08:16 that's not Superman. And he has these memories of having his diaper change. Yeah. Somebody flipped, somebody cleaned a little too much on his dick. Yeah. Not that you can't be superman with that past but that isn't the superman actual pet we know what happened to
Starting point is 00:08:31 him planet blew up came here different past it's just as traumatic don't get me wrong probably planet blew up you know parents incinerated the whole deal i'm sure that has to be traumatic for you but who knows it's gotta suck so superman is born september 27th 19 or september 22nd 1977 yeah young younger guy he's from port-au-prince haiti that's where he's born he and his family moved to montreal quebec canada yeah when he was seven okay um his father was dead before he was born. Oh, no. Yeah. He says he's not sure what happened to him exactly because it was it happened like in the streets in Haiti and it wasn't really a Haiti thing.
Starting point is 00:09:15 Yeah. Yeah. It was before he was born. He died of Haiti. Well, he was either beaten or poisoned. He was not sure. Or an earthquake happened. He was sucked to the core of the planet. We have no clue.
Starting point is 00:09:26 So either way, his father beaten or poisoned in the street, one or the other. Does it matter at that point before you're born? He succumbed to Haiti. He succumbed to the wiles of Haiti. That's all there is to it. So his mother took the whole family to Canada when he was seven here to try to get a better life going. And, well, we'll see here. This is from the notebook of a psychologist later on.
Starting point is 00:09:51 Oh, so it wasn't a peachy, happy, rainbow strip? No, no. We'll see here. It says, quote, moved at six years old to Montreal. The patient had a very difficult childhood. And then there's quotes from him in here. Quote, I had a lot of problems at school, said the patient. The child was placed in a group foster home.
Starting point is 00:10:16 Quote, when I turned eight, my mother put me there. What happened? She had remarried and she had three more boys and had no time for me. She has six brothers and a sister, by the way, all together. She has eight kids total. She just started fire-sailing kids because she was having more? I got new ones. We're having an estate sale.
Starting point is 00:10:35 And she was like, it was just one kid sitting in the front yard, and they were like, I got this one. She literally got a new model? Which is why he was called Adonis, because she thought that'd be a better marketing strategy to get rid of him. Don't worry, your name's Adonis. They'll pick you up quick. Take my boy Adonis here. And the local neighborhood pervert picked him right up. And then we know what happened from there.
Starting point is 00:10:56 So, yeah, had no time for me. Quote, I was lost. No mother, no father. So, yeah, it then says, for the most part part the patient had no parents no parenting no guidance no direction quote my family had given up on me i had nothing to hold on to what the fuck jesus fucking christ man that's a rough it's not a surprise at all that he's on this show this is crazy well that's the thing that gets me is this is the beginning. This is a person that you would expect because a lot of times we have shows where we're like, you don't belong here. And it's your completely your fault that you're here because you had every advantage of not being here.
Starting point is 00:11:35 You know what I mean? Todd Marinovich had no business on the show. None. Zero. This is the origin story of a serial killer, for Christ's sake. Or a superhero. One or the other. We're not sure which one yet. Let's find out here. According to christ's sake or a superhero one or the other we're not sure
Starting point is 00:11:45 which one yet that's let's find out here um he according to him it's a superhero we'll see but uh i don't know about the rest of the world he says quote i came to canada when i was five or six years old then after that i had problems pretty much your whole life is after that when if you're talking about five or six years old yeah yeah, yeah, yeah. But how about that? To be like, in Haiti, everything's awful, and then you move to Canada where it should get better, and it doesn't get better. But it's not that it didn't get better. It's that he also didn't. I had problems at five or six.
Starting point is 00:12:19 You don't remember before that. So how do you even know what the fuck happened before that? To say, you know, everything was great, but I mean, after five, after kindergarten, that's your life. I peaked at ABC. A little weird thing to say. You peaked at Criss Cross Applesauce.
Starting point is 00:12:39 I just wasn't having it, man. I learned it, and that was it for me. Teacher told me I was coloring outside the lines. I knocked her out. That's how it worked. I and that that was it for me um teacher told me i was coloring outside the lines i knocked her out that's how it worked i decided this is a career for me he said i was in a foster home when i was seven and or eight years old i don't know my dad my life was very very hard i was poor that explains a lot so there you go that's. That's the setting for all this. He said that it was hard because in a foster home environment, obviously, it's not really – there's not a lot for you. There's not a lot of – there's a lot of kids.
Starting point is 00:13:16 There's not a lot of individual attention in terms of a lot of time. The one he was in anyway, I'm sure some foster parents are wonderful, but he didn't describe a lot of warmth or anything like that for him it was a pretty cold environment where he had a place to sleep and that was that and no family and uh and also being a foreigner too coming somewhere yeah to come into somewhere is got to be right at least that everybody speaks french i believe that although haitian is different than french proper. I'm not sure. But either way, to come in and be from somewhere else and now you're in a foster home, too. It's got to be fucking horrifying. I can't imagine going to another foster home to a foster home in some other country when you're seven. Right.
Starting point is 00:13:55 And kids are so cruel. They'll say horrible things if you're especially if you're you're you're foreign. You're from somewhere that's. Yeah. Certainly has a reputation for not being easy to live there that's what i mean you you come in your kid the kids are pointing going your dad died of haiti haha like that's not fun in kindergarten no one wants that your dad died of haiti and you're like no he didn't he got poisoned they're like yeah that's
Starting point is 00:14:21 what we're saying facts don't matter to fucking kids no they don't care they don't give a shit at all that's the thing about that they could hear something from one kid and that is fact from then on they're like oh christ yeah they're like a message board they're fucking that's what it is that's what maybe 4chan was just eight-year-olds maybe that's what it was the whole thing is just eight-year-olds. Maybe that's what it was. The whole thing is just 8-year-olds, possibly. And they got a bunch of these crazy adults into it now, and they didn't realize they were just being gassed up by 8-year-olds who heard something on the playground one time.
Starting point is 00:14:53 It was 4chan because it was just 4-year-olds, and then the 8-year-olds had to make their own. Yeah, that's true. They grew up a little bit. They were like, we sound like babies, man. Yeah, we got to get going on 8chan now remember remember playground rumors when you were a kid remember those those were the like if you believed those right like the ones where the girl got a hot dog stuck and then she peed it out no she didn't there's that one or the one and just like of p like famous people
Starting point is 00:15:22 like i remember in like the late 80s i heard that that Paul Orndorff, the wrestler, Mr. Wonderful, died. And I was like, oh, I thought he was dead for like three years until he was on TV somewhere else. And he's still alive now. So he's definitely didn't die in 1987. Marilyn Manson's ribs and all these ridiculous things. How do we just buy it? How fucking stupid are we? The orange juice guy who took too much acid.
Starting point is 00:15:47 We have all heard that one. From coast to coast. And they go from coast to coast. I went to high school in New York. Jimmy went to high school in Phoenix. We've heard the same fucking rumors. Do you understand? Same rumors.
Starting point is 00:15:57 And this was pre-Google, so there was no way that someone could go, Hey, moron, let's settle this right now. That never happened. You just, God, really? No shit? For real? You had to know the Dewey Decimal System and go look up a book. could go yeah hey moron let's settle this right now that never happened you just got really no shit for real you had to know the dewey decimal system and go look up a book no for real man i read it in fucking you know whatever magazine some metal magazine or some shit i swear to god i thought you meant like specific people no my school not celebrity no celebrities not specific people i was like you've heard about the girl that got a hot dog.
Starting point is 00:16:27 Oh, yeah, everybody had those stories, too. There was that girl, the hot dog girl. Every school had that girl, and that girl doesn't exist. Yeah, our school had a hot dog girl who had to go to the hospital to have it removed because she went into toxic shock or something. I'm sure it's happened somewhere in the world, but I don't think it happened to her. It happened exactly once in the 60s. It hasn't happened since. Yeah, it hasn't.
Starting point is 00:16:45 But man, every school has a legend. Everybody's got one. That's a shame. Every school's got hot dog girl and the guy who fucked the dog. Every school's got those two people, dog fucker and hot dog girl. That's a fact. Every school has the person who went down on a dog and then fucked it at a party you know what i'm saying there's always that kid
Starting point is 00:17:08 you know exactly what i'm talking about and then hot dog girl and the storied girl that sleeps with everybody but you know nobody that's really slept with no no not at all not at all And she's never had a boyfriend. No. Just a nice girl who didn't want to fuck some guy, so he told everybody that she fucked everybody.
Starting point is 00:17:35 Jesus Christ. Anyway, tough life, much like a playground legend. He's having a tough life here. And this is the origin story of a lot of fighters though boxers this is is that right oh god gee and this is a mike tyson thing i mean this is a little deeper than that it's a little bit but it's still it's mike was in foster homes on the street it's the same type of thing when you're not but at least he could speak the
Starting point is 00:18:00 language yeah that's true no but when you're when there's no supervision what i'm saying like that's gonna and then you go out and you you fuck around and you're you learn what ends up happening is these kids end up latching on with older kids yeah and they have to be the same physicality as these older kids to roll with them and so then they end up being really you know aggressive physically so literally like prison like teaching sending a kid to prison teaches them how to be a criminal that's it you send a good kid out with the bad kids you're going to teach him how to be a bad kid or the way he puts it quote when you're a kid and you're in the streets you don't think i'm going to college to be a doctor you think survive you know yeah
Starting point is 00:18:39 yeah um he said quote it was uh it was very hard to be reached with no father, six brothers and one sister. You don't have time to go to school because you just have to survive. The gangsters are like your family. So he just, he's just on the street pretty much from like 11 on. He's just rolling with, uh, gangs of older kids on the street and robbing people and fucking, you know, running. Mike Tyson. That's what he is. He's Mike. That was exactly Mike's role. He was the little kid who had to show who he was so in order to show how tough he was he had to be the guy who was the one fucking beating the shit out of
Starting point is 00:19:15 everybody absolutely and that's who he was too he said quote i was a gang member knocking everybody out so he just learned to beat the shit out of people in the street at an extremely young age which made him you know kind of a little spectacle to his older buddies they were like let's have the little guy beat the shit out of this person and then he would do it it's crazy in boxing that's great too because he can at least he knows how to take a punch and knows how to throw a punch he knows how to yeah he knows how to do this and he said but when i'd fight in the street i'd get in trouble which he got in trouble countless times as a kid it's canada is a lot different here like your juvenile records are supposed to be like sealed or whatever but we know everything mike tyson did when he was fucking 11 you know what
Starting point is 00:20:00 i mean in canada they're a little more tight on that sort of thing so it's good it's better for the kids i guess but yeah he got arrested a lot as a child in terms of little petty arrests and fighting robbing vandalizing everything you would imagine an 11 year old gang member would get in trouble for he did it that's what he was doing yeah which is so funny because i picture them it's it's you don't get more quaint than a French part of Canada. You know what I mean? Canada, nice. French, not the nicest reputation, but very much like, you know, fancy.
Starting point is 00:20:36 And you're Canadian, and this guy's just going around punching the shit out of you, knocking your beret off of your head. Knocking the cigarette out of its holder and knocking the beret off of your head while you're standing there. Florida lease pin off your lapel. Well, I was hit in the face. That's a... Typical day. My wallet. My wallet is gone.
Starting point is 00:21:03 I don't know why I'd be speaking english but yeah i don't know i don't know any french so that's what you're getting my croissant is in the dirt that's it you're just getting a bad french accent of me just acting like i'm smoking the whole time i don't know that's all you can do so um anyway he's doing that he's fighting in the streets eventually he ends up in a gym okay which is good that's what if you have a kid running the street fighting you want to put that energy into a productive place that might actually teach him something also you you rarely get arrested while hitting a heavy bag. That's the other thing that happens. Very rare that you're put in jail for something while you're exercising.
Starting point is 00:21:51 It's not in a building. So he ends up being there, but he didn't go there to fight and to train. He went there. A friend of his was going to this gym to work out, and he brought Adonis over as a bodyguard oh to like hang out with him and so no one fucks with him all the time how fucking how much how many people are looking for this guy well it's he's in the it's a he's like a higher guy in the gang apparently so he takes his an eye on me while i do my wind yeah he takes his badass dude around with him all the time and i think he's seen mob movies so he's like i'm the boss i'm supposed to have like a guy you know what i mean i'm real
Starting point is 00:22:29 vulnerable when i jump rope that's what it is i can't see anything coming that's the thing when i'm hitting that speed bag i'm super concentrated you know how it goes so yeah he's doing that so he uh goes there but there's a guy there named uh named Tiger Paul who's a karate dude at this gym who sees talent in Adonis. Yeah. And he takes him under his wing at the gym. Yeah. And Adonis says he saw that I had talent. Well, there you go.
Starting point is 00:22:56 So he ends up fighting in Quebec for Golden Gloves and doing all that shit, going up the ranks. He's an Olympic hopeful, Jimmy. Oh. An Olympic hopeful. At what age? It all goes away. Around 19, you know, 20, 1997, 1996, 1990,
Starting point is 00:23:18 going into 1998. Then, in 1998, he stops boxing for a few years. Here. He stops boxing for a few years. Here, he stops boxing, and he won't box again until about 2003, 2004. That's a little bit of... What's the break about? That's a big break. We'll get into the break.
Starting point is 00:23:35 Don't worry about that. We'll talk about that. But let's talk about what he does after the break first, and we'll make the break a surprise of why he was gone for six years. So, in 2004, he becomes the quebec middleweight champion hell yeah and he's named the best amateur fighter in canada in 2005 and in 2006 he won the canadian national title in 2005 and 2006 he competed in the uh in the commonwealth games in melbourne aust, Australia in 2006.
Starting point is 00:24:08 By the way, the Commonwealth Games has 54 fucking countries in it. Is that right? That's a lot. That's like half the Olympics, isn't it? I can't name fucking 20 countries. How many countries are sending teams to the Olympics? Like 100, right? I don't know. How many countries are there?
Starting point is 00:24:21 There's like 200 countries. There's a shitload of countries. That's a lot. That's a lot of countries. So like a fourth of them are like 200 countries. There's a shitload of countries. That's a lot. That's a lot of countries. So like a fourth of them are Commonwealth Games countries. That's insane. Which, that's so weird. So anyway, he won there, won the silver medal in Australia, and finally lost to an Australian
Starting point is 00:24:38 named Jared Fletcher in the final, which he lost to a local. So I mean, that could be a little skewed. Lost to a dude named Jared, though. Yeah, you don't want to lose to Jared. At least it wasn't Jarrett with a T. That'd be worse. Two Ts. Nobody wants to be Jarrett.
Starting point is 00:24:53 Yeah, Jarrett. Jarrett either, though. That sucks, too. This is the only medal won by a Canadian boxer at the Commonwealth Games that year, too. Wow. Yeah, not doing well with the boxing that year so a promoter sees him a guy named yvonne uh michelle i guess m-i-c-h-e-l that sounds like
Starting point is 00:25:12 michelle in quebec he said that you know he knew he had problems in the past he said though but his potential as a pro and the fact that he seemed like a nice kid now he deserves a chance he said quote yeah he said if he was good enough to represent canada he certainly deserves to have a chance to turn pro if you believe he should be punished for the rest of his life for something he did as a teenager look in the mirror and find someone who's never made a mistake uh-oh yeah this is when you have to explain someone like that yeah that's a problem like listen if you think that just because that you're already you already lost the argument at that point that's not good it's not good at all so that explains already why you had to take a break but listen man he's closing in on 30 it's almost over that's the
Starting point is 00:26:06 problem here too it's terrible well it's good it sucks for longevity but it's good for the time being because he is at you know 28 29 years old at his physical you know his physical peak so i mean he's got he's got the brains of a person who's a little older and uh he's have a tougher mentality when you're a little older. Just you've gone through more shit. And then on top of that, I think he's got the power of being a little bit older, too, but he's not going to last as long. That's the thing. You're not going to fight fucking 60 fights if you start when you're 30.
Starting point is 00:26:39 So September 2006, he's 28 years old almost at this point. His pro debut, his opponent's a guy named Mike Funk. I don't know if that's Terry and Dory's brother or what here. So Mike Funk is making his debut as well. It's at the Montreal Casino. And would you like to see this fight, Jimmy? I'd love to. I have.
Starting point is 00:27:01 I have this fight right here. Oh, no, no, no. You can see the whole fight pretty quick. You don't need much time to see this entire fight. You can see this fight in less time than like a commercial break on Hulu happens. So, yeah, it's a really quick fight. I like those fights. Yeah, they're really fun.
Starting point is 00:27:19 So, here we go. Roll your chair over here. Let me make sure my sound is on. There we go. Okay. All right. You see it? see it uh yes you can see good adonis is in the black trunks or the white trunks adonis is the black guy so he's the haitian man oh the darker black guy wait is that a white that's a very white guy with a bald head jimmy that guy looks like you i'm so bad adonis stevenson's about to beat jimmy up everybody here we go this is the fun oh jimmy is aggressive
Starting point is 00:27:50 jimmy's like oh jimmy you had no idea what was coming you barely got oh look jimmy's aggressive out of your mouth before he was on the ground. How did he get hit? He ran in and Stevenson hit him with one. Here it is. Was it an uppercut? It was a left hook. Watch this.
Starting point is 00:28:11 Okay. Oh, no. Oh, it was a right hook. Sorry. That's all it is. He just popped him in the right hook to the temple. He ran in. He really thought he had something.
Starting point is 00:28:21 He really... And then pop. Hold on a minute. Oh, no. I can't stand up anymore. I'm going down. That's not good here. That's embarrassing.
Starting point is 00:28:33 That is quite embarrassing. That guy never fought again, right? That guy never fought again, Jimmy, actually. Good. That is his one and only career fight. He didn't even have a fight. He took a punch. He didn't even take a swing at him.
Starting point is 00:28:46 He ran in and got punched in the head and fell down. That's all he did. And then realized that this is hard. There's fights on the street that last longer than that. You know what I mean? Like, this is fucking crazy. He has one professional, like, square off. I wouldn't even call it a fight.
Starting point is 00:29:04 That's not a fight. He ran in like, I'm not going to be afraid of you. Oh, Jesus, maybe I. Not even a fight. I wouldn't even call it a fight. That's not a fight. He ran in like, I'm not going to be afraid of you. Oh, Jesus, maybe I should have been afraid of you. Yeah, punched in the ear. Good God. So the fight, the total time is 22 seconds, but that includes the 10 seconds it takes to count them out. So we're talking, you know.
Starting point is 00:29:20 The bell rang. Like, four seconds went by while they were in their corners. He ran out one punch was thrown 10 seconds fight over it's like wrestlemania one bundy versus sd jones for your rest that is an awesome fight that was awesome yeah that's the fight you want to see uh next up he fights the next month and uh what is this october 28th 2006 at the lac limi casino i'm sure that's not said like that. It's probably Lacklemy.
Starting point is 00:29:48 Lacklemy. He fights here versus Ferenc. He goes by Frank, but his real name is Ferenc. F-E-R-E-N-C. Ferenc. That's not Frank. Ferenc Lankande. So he's 4-10
Starting point is 00:30:03 coming into this fight. Okay, 4-10-2. Would you like to see this fight? Oh, we got more. Okay. We'll see some knockouts here. Here we go. Ferenc Lanconde.
Starting point is 00:30:14 Roll back over again. Are these heavyweights? They're 168 he's fighting at now. It's just like super middle. And then he's going to be. Frenc's a fat fuck. He's going to be. No, he's nice and thin.
Starting point is 00:30:23 What is that belly? Oh, oh. It's that belly? Oh, oh. It's the pad. Oh, my. Oh, Adonis is whooping. Oh, Frank. Left hook, left hook. You've made a bad decision, Frank.
Starting point is 00:30:32 He's just in the corner covering. Oh, he just measured him. He put one hand on his forehead and then measured him and pummeled him with the other hand until he went down. Between the gloves. Oh, man. He got up after that? Why? Stay down. Why are you getting up
Starting point is 00:30:47 it's oh god you should have stayed down sir oh my god it looked like he had something to say straight yeah hey and another thing and straight left there so that was that fight he wanted to make a point with words ad Adonis is not talking. He came in and said, listen, pal. Oh, Jesus. He got punched in the face again. I said, wait. I said, hold on.
Starting point is 00:31:12 We're trying to talk. This is uncivilized at best. Jesus. Wow. Frank's a bad boxer. That's Frank's last fight, by the way. He was like, I am never stepping. That was embarrassing. He wouldn't's last fight, by the way. He was like, I am never stepping. That was embarrassing.
Starting point is 00:31:26 He wouldn't even listen to me, this guy. The wait is over. So far, you're not losing. The only thing you're losing is my patience. Quickly, I see that. Bing! The queen of the courtroom is back. I didn't do anything.
Starting point is 00:31:43 You wouldn't know the truth if it came up and slapped you in the face. I see he's not intimidated by anything. I can fix that. New cases. She wanted to fight me. Leave her alone. Okay, so, um... This is not a so. This is a period.
Starting point is 00:32:00 Classic Judy. Did you sleep with her? Yes, Your Honor. You married his cousin. His brother. That's not him? Yes, Your Honor You married his cousin His brother That's not him Yes, ma'am I would make a beeline for the door
Starting point is 00:32:10 The Emmy Award winning series returns How did I know that? I have a crystal ball in my head It's an all new season It's streaming, you can say anything Judy Justice Only on Freeview. Taylor Swift is soaring high.
Starting point is 00:32:31 Her every move captured in the news cycle and devoured by her devoted fans. She's broken billboard records and made Grammys history, not to mention becoming a billionaire in the process. But along the way, Taylor has had to wage war, first by taking on a very powerful, very famous manager, Scooter Braun, and then by going up against the biggest live events company, Ticketmaster. Hi, I'm David Brown, the host of Wondery's show, Business Wars. We go deep into some of the biggest corporate rivalries of all time.
Starting point is 00:33:01 And in our latest season, Taylor Swift will shake up not only the music business, but Hollywood and the NFL. Follow Business Wars wherever you get your podcasts. You can listen ad-free on the Amazon Music or Wondery app. So TKO first round 2-0 for Mr. Stevenson here. So next up in November of 2006 at, oh Jesusesus colisee trois riviers that is very french three rivers something about colisee france three rivers france canada everybody we're in three rivers france canada and uh here we are here's the fight these people are um they say a a lot and then um they this uh uh putina i think they call it i don't know something sweet girl sweet girl so here we go he fights bonnie
Starting point is 00:33:54 joe mcgee oh really bonnie joe i was gonna say the guy who could joe mcgee couldn't make it so his wife bonnie joe mcgee stepped in for him and uh she was everybody said she's tougher than him uh she has less teeth which is one thing that's nice and uh she did she couldn't make weight though but adonis waved it it was fine uh he said that's fine she's 225 but i'll fight her at 168 no problem uh bonnie joe bonnie joe mcgee who is from mosquitigie mosquitigie oklahoma which sounds like bonnie jo McGee, who is from Muskegee, Oklahoma, which sounds like Bonnie Jo McGee is from Muskegee, Oklahoma. Yeah, she works at the Waffle House. We don't get punched in the face by Haitians in Muskegee. So it is, here we go.
Starting point is 00:34:41 This fight, he's 2-7-2 coming in. Let's see, 2-7-2. Okay. And we'll show you the part here where he's fighting. This is going to be their second round. Oh, Bonnie Jo. Bonnie Jo's pretty jacked. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:56 But Adonis is. Oh, Adonis. Oh, my. Oh, left hook, left hook. He hit him with three left hooks in a row. He just pummeled him with left hooks until he got tired. He looked like a character in a video game when a kid gets something working and just uses the same move over and over again.
Starting point is 00:35:16 Oh, that got waved off. Bonnie Jo's very upset, mainly because she has a shift at the Waffle House later and she doesn't want to have it. The same move. Same thing. Over and over again. Bonnie Jo's going to get extra tips at the Waffle House later because they're going to think her husband went to town on her. They're going to send a lot of food back because Bonnie Jo's going to get drool in it.
Starting point is 00:35:39 Bonnie Jo, when are you going to leave that man? He just smothered and covered my french fries. Oh, man. Butcher slobber. Jesus, Bonnie Jo. There's some blood in there, too. So that's a second round TKO, 3-0 for Stevenson. Next up, in December of 2006 at the Montreal Casino, he fights Eduardo Calderon, who's 3-0 coming into this fight.
Starting point is 00:36:00 So it's 3-0 versus 3-0, everybody. And shall we watch it jimmy yeah let's see what we got here oh man he is like a fucking machine gun right now that was like three body shots two head shots and dude just knelt down eduardo looked like looked like me at a party when i've had too much to drink and i just go down to my knee that's he did one knee, now he's just running around covering his head. He doesn't even know where he's running.
Starting point is 00:36:28 Flailing. Oh, right in the face. He's just getting popped over and over. Left, left. He just turned around and walked away with his back to him. That's, now he's down. You're not allowed to hit me in the back.
Starting point is 00:36:38 Looks like he's praying now. He went down and just covered his head and looked like he was in prayer. He's like, I'm going to stay here and just reflect on this for a while. Holy shit. Dude, that guy turned around like he tried to get away from him. Like, no, stop.
Starting point is 00:36:53 He's literally trying to flee. He was going to try to go out of the ropes or some shit. That was wild. So that's a first round TKO. Calderon ends up being four and eight in his career. So Stevenson ruined him. Four and oh four, Mr. Stevenson, though, here. Next up at the Montreal Casino again, he fights Etienne Walker, whose nickname is E.T.
Starting point is 00:37:14 Not bad. So he looks like an alien, maybe. I don't know. His career record is 32, 24, and two. In his last 19 fights of his entire career, he was 1-18. In his last 19 fights. So think about that.
Starting point is 00:37:33 He was 31-6, and then he turned into this. And then it was over. It was fucking over for him. Yeah, so this fight is a first-rounder again. And pull up your chair, Jimmy. It's time. Let's watch Stevenson pummel the extraterrestrial shall we what do we have here yeah okay what do you got stevenson he's the upright trunks again yeah oh jesus oh my he punched him in the chest dude he just heart punched him to the canvas he punched him in the chest like somebody's older brother
Starting point is 00:38:03 and they're they're he got back up? Oh, yeah. Did you see him? He fell out of the ring. He fell out of the ring. Watch when he hits him here. His hand comes, oh! He punched him on the way down. He got up after he fell out of the ring. You have to be kidding me.
Starting point is 00:38:19 He got up after the defibrillator and then getting tossed out of the ring. He climbed back in the fucking ring and then watch how many times he hits him. Straight left. He starts going down, but Stevenson doesn't want him to go down. So he punches him on the way down to the canvas as well to make
Starting point is 00:38:35 sure he... Oh, that straight left is vicious. Oh, and then a left uppercut. The three knockdown rules in effect, right? It depends on the state. It's got to be. You can't. I think that's three, though.
Starting point is 00:38:48 That's three, and that's the knockout. Oh, there was the one there where he just hit him like fucking six times. Hold on. I'm going to rewind that. He just hit him. Watch this. This is where he starts to go down, and Stevenson hits him so many times on the way down like a machine gun. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:39:03 He did get up again, then. hits him so many times on the way down like a machine gun oh my god he did get up again then he's falling covering his head and stevenson hit him like six more times on his way down to the ground i've never seen that before never seen that before so that's a first round knockout five and oh he knocked him down four times in one round yeah yeah that's insane that's a lot of knockdowns in the first round so it's yeah if if a guy goes down three times in the first round i don't care if the knockdown rules in effect or not if i'm the ref i'm going you just started right and it's already three times this is over with plenty of wind right now if you've gone down three times in the first this fight's over i'll give you one knockdown
Starting point is 00:39:41 maybe he surprised you when the film you watched he he didn't go left and throw right. He did the other things you were expecting that. I get that. But at three times, okay, you're going to lose this fight, bro. You think you're going to come back and win now? Your death is not going to be on my conscience. Go home. Yeah, go home while you can still remember your kids' names, please. Thank you. This isn't good. please. Thank you. This is not good. Next up at the Montreal Casino in April of 2007, he fights Carl
Starting point is 00:40:08 Cockerham. What? His name is Carl Cockerham, which sounds like a name that someone would call you in school if your name was like Flockerham. They'd be like, what's up, Cockerham? And everybody would laugh at you. Cock? And it's spelled Cock-her-ham.
Starting point is 00:40:29 Cock-her-ham. So if ham was a euphemism for pussy, his name would be Dick-her-pussy would be your name. It is now. I think it is. It is now. I'll tell you that much. That's what it is now. Ladies, how's your hams doing out there, everybody?
Starting point is 00:40:45 Oh, man. Let's have a look at that ham. Let's take a peek at that ham, ladies. I hear you got a honey bait. Let's see what you got. Hey, sweetheart. I hear you got a nice glaze on that ham. Let's see what you're doing.
Starting point is 00:40:58 Sweet like honey bait. Let's see what you're working with, sweetheart, huh? Nothing I like more than a delicious pink ham. You know what I'm talking about? Just salty. Juicy and salty. You know what I mean, right? Cock.
Starting point is 00:41:15 A good lean ham. Cocker ham. Cocker ham. C-O-C-K-H-E-R-H-A-M. Cocker ham. One word. One word. And his first name's Carl, which for some reason makes it even funnier.
Starting point is 00:41:27 His last name's like a hashtag. It's got alliteration to it, so it's Carl Cockerham. It sounds ridiculous. Carl. Cockerham. Cockerham. Carl. Carl, get in here.
Starting point is 00:41:40 Cockerham. That's what a porn director would tell him. Yeah. Well, you Cockerham. That's what a porn director would tell him. Yeah. Will you Cockerham already? Carl Cockerham is a porn name. That is a porn name. It's a porn search. Carl Cockerham, and it would be spelled like that.
Starting point is 00:41:57 And you go, oh, okay. That, oh my God, I have a headache from laughing at that right now. My head is, i need more oxygen we haven't watched this fight yet carl cockerham we're not going to see it because he's a 12 12 and 3 fighter coming in so nothing spectacular but it goes all six rounds apparently carl cockerham knows how to work he knows how to work the edges and he what he does is this is the thing a lot of guys try to stay away from adonis. They try to stay back from him. Carl Cockerham gets in deep.
Starting point is 00:42:27 That's what he does. He gets inside, deep, deep inside of Adonis' defenses. You know, and it's harder to get him out. It beats up the walls. That's the thing. And he doesn't come out until he's spent either. He's not going to come out until he's given his load. Until he's given everything he's got.
Starting point is 00:42:48 Until he's unloaded on you. He will empty. Then he'll pull out of the deep hold and he'll then get a distance from you as far as he can. He'll leave you quivering. He will leave you quivering. That'll happen. So, unanimous decision for adonis i guess he beat he beat up the cockerham pretty good six and oh oh god i wish carl cockerham was a criminal because i would talk we'd have a ball at least a video of the fight he could get two parking tickets
Starting point is 00:43:21 we could get a whole episode out of him. Two parking tickets. Did you ever steal a candy bar, Cockerham? Come on, Cockerham. Something you had to do. So May 12, 2007 at the Montreal Casino, he fights our marvelous Marcus Thomas. There he is. He's 10 and 1 coming into this fight.
Starting point is 00:43:44 It's a one-round fight. Would you like to watch it? Marvelous Marvin. Roll on over here. Marvelous Marcus. Yeah, not Marvelous Marvin Hagler. You've got a lot of balls being marvelous, anybody, unless you're Marvin Hagler. How dare you?
Starting point is 00:43:57 So here we go. That boxing glove in the corner looks like a brain, by the way. It does. Yeah, with the web. Yeah. Okay. He looks like he's fighting. All I see is the is them like it's a black guy with like a bun on top oh my there's a heavy right oh left to the body oh dear lord oh he fell down he hit him with a left to the body the guy yeah
Starting point is 00:44:18 hit it and then was like i'm okay and then was like oh shit no i'm not and then fell down he took like two steps and then just collapsed that body shot i felt it and i was like oh shit no I'm not and then fell down he took like two steps and then just collapsed that body shot I felt it and I was like go down dog and he's like Jimmy's right he thought about it he had a minute to think about it I think I should sit oh no he's in pain looks like he cracked
Starting point is 00:44:37 like three ribs yeah he's going oh shit Jesus I think he's over I think this dude's got broken no no no he's over he's done so there's that that is fucking hilarious Jesus. I think he's over. I think this dude's got broken. No, no. No, he's over. He's done. So there's that. Wow. That is fucking hilarious, by the way.
Starting point is 00:44:52 That's a solid fight. Each and every one of these, I want to see them. I'm upset that I've never heard of this guy. They're fun. They're fun fights. His fights are fun. They're all, I mean, he's got a lot of, you know, fucking, a lot of punching happening. Well, here, we'll finish this fight. Oh, he waved it off.
Starting point is 00:45:09 Ref waved it off. Here's the replay of it again. It was a left to the body. Boom. Holy fuck, man. He was not expecting that. Dude, that guy fucking, he took a dive. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:45:20 You think so? He got hit. Dude, this is in the first round. He got hit a couple times. I was like, whoa, this guy hits hard. He got hit. Dude, this is in the first round. He got hit a couple times. It was like, whoa, this guy hits hard. He hit him. He put his elbow down to just do defense, kept his defense up, looked at Adonis right in the eye, and then sat down on the canvas.
Starting point is 00:45:36 He was like, oh, he's going to hit me more, and I can't beat this man. You could see it in his fucking eyes. So you think he quit or took a dive? Because taking a dive is like... I think he quit. I think he said, I'm not getting hit again by that guy. I don't think it was for like a gambler's purpose. I think he got hit real hard in the ribs and was like, oh my God, that was...
Starting point is 00:45:56 And then he looked at him and was like, oh shit, he's going to do it again. And then he sat down. He needs business. Yeah, I don't want to do this anymore. You know why I think I'm right? Because Marvelous Marcus was 10 and 1 coming into this fight his career 10 and 5 never won another fight he fucking he broke him he broke his fucking brain broke his mental you know his outlook here he thought that was coming for his face though because he got a jab so he put his defense up high
Starting point is 00:46:21 and taking it right in the belly that just shows he's terrified of yes that's what it is yeah he's terrified there was a tyson fight where a guy did that where he's just flailing his arms around he just looks like terrified of him and you're like oh man he hit him once and he's like i'm gonna go down now that's enough for me seven and oh for adonis next up in june of 2007 at the uniprix uniprix i wonder if cockerham ever goes there the uniprix right i'm sure it is unipri because it's in montreal so yeah unipri stadium in montreal versus alvaro pantera enriquez hell yeah fucking fucking metal he's coming in there.
Starting point is 00:47:06 He doesn't even wear gloves. He just shoulder blocks you like a mosh pit. You have to punch him while he tries to mosh you. That's the rules of Pantera Enriquez. Cemetery Gates. Oh, man. So he's 7-1-1 here. And let's see here.
Starting point is 00:47:23 This is a one-round fight. Would you like to see pantera get rocked one round fight let's see this again here alvaro enriquez pantera here we go no he is big no he's not that's not a big guy that dude looks huge he's smaller than adonis yeah he's got a ponytail he looks like he looks like a lover not a fighter like you tell you oh jesus he fell down like he got thrown out of a car he fell down on his back rolled over look like he got pushed out of a moving car he looks like the type of guy throw so many well thrown punches that don't land at all
Starting point is 00:48:02 look at those jabs. Those look good. Oh, and then he got hit once and just, he rolled over on the ground. I've never seen that before. Look at that. I'm going to get you. Jab, jab, jab, jab, jab. He threw six worthless jabs and then ended up rolling over. That was the whole fight.
Starting point is 00:48:23 He looked like Muhammad Ali throwing j gems, but Muhammad's head. He looks like a guy who's a great actor in a boxing movie, but he's not a boxer because he can't get punched in the face. He got hit once and went down. That's awesome. He said, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, and Adonis said, pow, and he just rolled. Dude, it looked like he got like somebody. He was in the back of a pickup, and someone just tossed him out like garbage as he was driving down the street at 40. That's how he hit the ground.
Starting point is 00:48:49 And like rolled over a couple times. Like a college freshman that just got hazed in the back of a van. That's what happened. Yeah, there he is. You all right? Hey, Parker, you good? Meet you back at the dorm for beers. Woo!
Starting point is 00:49:04 And the door closes and they keep driving off. You're going to make it. You'll be all right, man. Great Greek wolf. Woo! So that's that. 8-0 for Mr. Stevenson here. Next up, in August of 2007, at the Pierre Charbonneau Center in Montreal, he fights Marlon Rumbling Man Hayes. All right.
Starting point is 00:49:32 The Rumbling Man. He's 23-8 coming into this fight. Okay? Now, look at what Adonis Stevenson. How many times have we done boxing episodes where there's a really good boxer and they ruin people when they fight them? That's just it. He's 23-8 coming into this fight uh this is a unanimous decision it goes all eight rounds but adonis wins on every scorecard by a lot and after this fight 23 and 8 rumbling man coming in
Starting point is 00:49:55 his whole career he'll finish 23 and 21 he never won another fight stumbling man he just he ruins their mentality like they they don't they don't have the same confidence boxing is once you get that that that thing shattered a lot of times you don't get it back you know it's that invincibility air how big is adonis how tall is he six two six yeah six one ish something like that he's not that tall otherwise he'd be real skinny being 168 pounds you know that guy's only 168 pounds yeah 168 he goes up to 175 later on he's 175 but in the beginning he's 168 oh yeah he's cut he's a fucking specimen man absolutely so nine and oh for uh stevenson here in december of 2007 the bell center in montreal versus david whittam who's nine four and one and this goes all 10 rounds unanimous decision they're putting him in there now with guys who know how to hold and clench
Starting point is 00:50:47 and do that kind of shit too and survive rather than just punching bags. So he's 10-0. Now he's got to start fighting some better fighters at 10-0, obviously. Give you tomato cans, get you to 10. Now once you got 10, that looks more impressive. And then once they get you to 20, you can start getting title fights at that point. So in the Montreal Casino again in april of 2008 he fights da fear uh his name is d-h-a-f-i-r so da fear uh smith and his nickname is no fear oh okay it should be the fear
Starting point is 00:51:19 i'm the fear motherfucker fear me i'm the thing you should be scared of but instead he's no fear and he's 2016 and six coming into this fight six draws how the fuck do you get six draws out of 36 fights 2016 and six fuck more than that out of 42 fights yeah 2016 and six anyway this fight goes five rounds and let's show you the fifth round here it's gonna be a tko for old adonis here we go old no da fear here no fear da fear white trunks for adonis by the way god he's hammering with those lefts oh those left hooks his left hook he's a southpaw so i mean his left hook will fuck you up he's like a little joe frazier oh and the body shots those are my favorite knockouts those are two vicious shots to the head and then he just popped him once in the ribs and the dude fell down right to the head
Starting point is 00:52:09 right cross and then strong i could see that strong left hook coming left left left body oh he's going up and down dude it's right to the face left to the body left to the face right to the body look at this oh uppercut left uppercut oh his feet came out from under him i saw the soles of his shoes on that one dude that is watch this that's assault oh man that was like six shots to the body and then as he was falling down he threw a left uppercut right to his face just for his fucking just for good measure it is shocking that that shit's legal that's so so awesome. 46 seconds that fight lasted. Exciting shit, though. In the fifth?
Starting point is 00:52:48 Oh, no, I'm sorry. That was the fifth. The next fight's 46 seconds. So anyway, he's 11-0 now. Next fight is at the, Jesus, Gar-Winders-Salle-de-Pas-Perdue. They really got to fix this. In Montreal. Jesus Christ.
Starting point is 00:53:04 This shit's like four hours from here, too, Jimmy. We could drive up north four hours and people will know exactly how to say that. Isn't that weird? So he's fighting Anthony the Bullet Bonsante. So the Bullet. The Bullet's 31-9-3 coming into this fight. And would you like to watch the fight in its entirety? Okay, here it is because it doesn't take very long, the show here.
Starting point is 00:53:25 This is August 1st, 2008. Anthony. Not hard to tell these guys apart. Throw those punches, Anthony. Oh, God. That's not going to do it. Oh, my God. His eyes are closed.
Starting point is 00:53:37 It's over. He's sleeping. He's dead. He literally killed him. Oh, Jesus. Sorry to scream, but this guy came in hard hard to like he stepped in with his left to come in and really throw a hard right and as he came in with everything he had stevenson just shot him with the hardest straight left hand i've ever seen and dude's whole world changed i mean it's
Starting point is 00:53:59 fucking he was asleep yeah he looked like a dude that just ran into uh a sliding arcadia door holy shit that was 46 seconds that's what it looked like like he was hey guys i'll be right done so 12 and 0 for adonis next up at uh this is september 25th 2009 at the bell center in montreal he fights germaine chooo-Choo Mackey. Hell yeah. Choo-Choo. Taken off from the station. Choo-Choo.
Starting point is 00:54:29 Like Small Town Murder Express. So he's 18 and 3 coming in. This fight goes to the fifth round again. And let's take a look at the fifth round, shall we? Jermaine Choo-Choo Mackey. Let's take a peek what we got here. Choo-fucking-choo. Oh, already in the kidney. White trunks for Stevenvenson oh his his hands flail jimmy when your hands flail that's bad oh god that's like an like an old
Starting point is 00:54:54 woman at church that's not good oh oh the ropes are the only thing keeping him oh god stop the fight please he did he was punching him up again. He had him up against the ropes and hit him so fast, the dude didn't have a chance to fall down before the ref came in. Wow. He got hit in the kidney the first time he went down. He just hit him. I think that was about eight punches right to the face uncontested.
Starting point is 00:55:19 That was brutal. The kidney shot he took, it took like three punches for him to realize his kidney hurt. Yeah. And he's like oh god oh now it's in my face shit that's 13 and 0 for adonis here so he's doing very well yeah april 17th 2010 at the week he's fine this is his first uh um fight in the united states here. Okay? The Wico Mico Center. Wico Mico Civic Center. Okay. In Salisbury.
Starting point is 00:55:49 Which Salisbury what? I don't know where that is. Why didn't I put that down? Massachusetts? I don't know. Wisconsin? It's got to be in Canada, right? Who knows?
Starting point is 00:55:56 This is in the United States. The U.S., okay. It's his first fight. He also, promoter Lou DiBella, who we've talked about plenty. He was a guy with Ron Lyle and a bunch of other guys. This is his first fight being promoted by Lou DiBella, who we've talked about plenty. He was a guy with Ron Lyle and a bunch of other guys.
Starting point is 00:56:07 This is his first fight being promoted by Lou DiBella and all this type of shit. Now, in the first round, Stevenson knocks Boone down twice. It's Darnell Diesel, like Diesel, D-E-E-Z-O-L, Boone, who's a 16, 15, and 2 fighter. He's a good fighter. He's got 15 losses, so that's not that great. That's a good point.
Starting point is 00:56:30 That's not good. He's about 500 here. So apparently he knocked him down twice. Then in the second round, Stevenson is so confident because he's knocked him down twice, he's just rushing in to put him away. As Stevenson's rushing in to put him away no defense at all hands out he got hit with a solid straight fucking right hand that just knocked his ass right to the ground i mean never saw it coming um he got up inside of the 10 count
Starting point is 00:56:58 but the ref waves it off and he loses by tko damn it In a fight that he absolutely should have won. He was winning, yeah. The only reason why he got knocked out is because he was so much of a better fighter than the guy that he didn't even think he needed to play defense anymore. He just ran in there to fucking pummel him more. But you got a guy who has 16 professional wins.
Starting point is 00:57:20 He's the fighter, yeah. He can knock you out if you leave yourself open. So that's what ended up happening and so he's 13 and 1 now this doesn't seem to take the this doesn't take any of the sting out of him though he he doesn't uh take this as oh i'm garbage now i'll never win again that doesn't happen april 8th 2011 he uh goes another fight here he's in uh he's fighting at the Bell Center in Montreal. This is for the North American NABA title here. So he's fighting Derek the Black
Starting point is 00:57:50 Lion Edwards, who is 25-1. Black Lions don't exist, but alright. Well, that's why he's so special, Jimmy. Jesus. Now we're going to see this one? Fucking A. If he was the unicorn, would you have a problem with that? So this fight goes into the
Starting point is 00:58:05 third round and let's see what happens derrick edwards april 8th 2011 i hope he's a white guy that would be great the black the black lion oh oh stevenson is just unloading with rights and lefts here at this point in time left hooks to the body dude's trying to hold him edwards thinks oh my god no that didn't happen did i just watch that it looked like it was shot in the face it looked like in godfather two when they shoot her when they shoot veto's mom and she flies back from the shotgun let's watch it from this side so we can see does his face come in oh god damn physics wise that shouldn't happen yeah he he was standing still and then went into like the fastest backwards motion you could make a human body go in with a punch to the face
Starting point is 00:58:58 holy shit donna's part 11 that looked like stranger things that literally looked like he just did like what young 11 did to number one against the wall in season four here like that's what he just did because he flew back if the ropes weren't there he would get went against the wall and then bats would have flew out and then a gate would have opened up into another dimension that was unbelievable what the fuck is happening i can't believe it everybody look up derrick the black lion edwards versus donna stevenson because i don't know how to describe it to you it's supernatural it literally looks like the man was shot in the face but if you're shot in the face the physics don't you act don't actually do that gun though the physics don't do that either it's got to be a weight the only way you'd get shot in the face, the physics don't actually do that. With a shotgun, though. The physics don't do that either.
Starting point is 00:59:45 It's got to be a weight. The only way you'd get shot in the face and do that is like an artillery round from a tank shot you in the face. You might fly backwards like that a little bit, but it's a physics thing. I've never seen him go down like that. No, because the thing has to weigh as much as you. So his fist weighs as much as this man. Evidently. He just defied physics
Starting point is 01:00:05 everybody so maybe that's his crime you don't know that was amazing you don't know if his whole history is he is 11 and that's where he was for those six years he was in a black government a government black site being trained to kill the russians and uh fight underworld demons we don't know and his nose bleeds every fight it's a genius sport for somebody like that. Well, yeah. Then your nose is bleeding and you can make it go away. Just got punched in the nose three times. What do you expect?
Starting point is 01:00:33 Obviously it's bleeding. He sticks it out so he gets hit once. Okay, there it goes. Next up is at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, baby. Here we go. The big time, I guess, for boxing. Brandon, Las Vegas, baby. Here we go.
Starting point is 01:00:44 The big time, I guess, for boxing. He fights Dion Shujail Amin Savage, who is, I think he changed his name to that. He's 11-1 coming into this fight, Savage is. Want to see the fight, Jimmy? I sure do. Let's see if he's going to use his powers again here to thwart the Demodogs. Let's see what we got here. Does he scream? I think he does.
Starting point is 01:01:12 Okay. Here he is. Adonis is in the... Oh! He fell down like a tree and popped back up again? Wow. He popped up like he slipped, but he didn't because he fell like a tree. Here he comes.
Starting point is 01:01:24 I don't like the stripes. It looks like a prison pants. I was man doesn't say it looks like he's boxing in prison oh left to the body boy oh fay he's his head's just going back and this guy takes a punch pretty well yeah he's left treating him like a heavy bag yeah oh that that left to the face was pretty good he's throwing a punch every once in a while to keep himself in the fight oh these are just shots oh my god that left hook the ref finally said i i can't watch you get punched anymore. I can't allow this. I'm getting sad. Oh, no, wait.
Starting point is 01:01:51 Yeah. Oh, there it was. Yeah. Your mom could be watching. I feel terrible. I don't want to see this. I want to work again. I don't want him to murder you.
Starting point is 01:01:58 This is bad. So 15-1. The rest of his career, 11-1 coming into this fight. His career, he'll end up 12-10, this guy. He ruined it. Ruined his career. Next up at the Bell Center in Montreal, December 10, 2011, versus Aaron Pryor Jr. He is fighting so much.
Starting point is 01:02:15 He is. He's fighting. He's got it. He's old. He's getting old. He's fucking 33 right now. He sure is. He's got a lot of time.
Starting point is 01:02:24 33. So he almost, yeah, no, 30, December, yeah, he's 34 by now. You lot of time almost 33 say almost yeah no 30 december yeah he's 34 by now you're right so uh the last fight he was 33 he fights aaron pryor jr we talked about him because we talked about his dad obviously and uh the hawk there and uh here hawkeye whatever his name was he is 16 and 4 coming in pryor jr this is for the NABA super middleweight title and the vacant WBO NABO super middleweight title. Somebody's about to be a two-time champ. So yeah, this is a couple of belts here.
Starting point is 01:02:52 Let's do this. Let's show you this fight. This is round nine. This is a 12-foot round fight. Here we are. We're going to catch up in round nine here. Oh my God! What the fuck was that? Dude, the guy's holding on he's blasting him off the ropes and he came off the ropes he hit him in the face with and then he just fell down like he
Starting point is 01:03:11 got hit in the back of the head with a chair so bloody oh man fucking prior's a lot taller boy oh that left was brutal a vicious left hook to the face prior went down on one knee like he's got uh like the winds knocked out of him oh he's just calling to his corner to wave it off you see him did he just he just did like this with his glove yep he did he looked at his corner and then waved with his glove go and fucking call it call it i can't this guy's whooping my fucking ass fucking hamburger dude is thumping me and i don't like it how is it? So what, they're finding light heavyweight? Yeah, super middle. This is 168 is super middle.
Starting point is 01:03:49 This is a great fucking field. I love it. It's fun. This is like where like Bernard Hopkins fought for a long time and guys like that. You can get,
Starting point is 01:03:56 because you get knockout power and you still get quickness because a lot of times these guys are like 154 pounders who have come up later on and gained weight and shit. If you don't know when Crystal Pepsi was discontinued, what was in Al Capone's vault,
Starting point is 01:04:09 or which famous meteorologist is Lenny Kravitz's second cousin, then you haven't spent enough time on Wikipedia. But that's okay. I am here for you. Yeah, 168 is a fun one. or on Apple Podcasts. relationship with a woman everything's going well they have two young girls one was born a month before the aaron pryor fight okay life is going well he's fought twice twice in the u.s he has a waiver allowing him to leave canada even though he's got this record and uh let's just say grace as a two-time champ right here yeah this is grace right now, I would say, because February 2012, while promoting his next fight, his past comes out.
Starting point is 01:05:48 Now, the thing about his past is it's not fucking hard to find because I looked in a newspaper archive of him. And when this all happened, it was well covered in all the papers here and in magazines. And it was a big, giant story that any boxing journalist could have looked up any time in the last six years i don't know while he was at the commonwealth games while he's doing any time any of these people could have just let me do a quick just a quick search on him see what comes up with and they would have found this but instead they acted like it was oh my god how could we have possibly known who we've all We've all been duped. Okay. For years, there was rumors going around. That's the other thing.
Starting point is 01:06:27 Rumors, you can look them up. Right. Even pre-Google, you could go to the goddamn library and look up old newspaper archives. But this is fucking 2012, for Christ's sake. You can look up. Our show comes out in four years. Do you understand that? This is February 2012.
Starting point is 01:06:43 Yeah. If we could do this, two jerk-off comedians who at the time were sitting in a shitty apartment living room could do it right the boxing journalists at large could do it as well i think right yeah so forget it anyway for years it was rumored that he was arrested during his late teen years for something to do with uh something to do with something to do with women assaulting them or something of that nature but it was all very hush hush and the Montreal police would neither
Starting point is 01:07:11 confirm nor deny the allegations when asked by reporters as well so rather than looking into it further they just shrugged and went I don't know I guess it's fine and then they watched them beat more people up so finally it came out a Montreal Gazette reporter named Herb Zerkowski talked about it at a press conference. He was having – Stevenson was having a press conference for his upcoming fight.
Starting point is 01:07:36 During that, they ask you, are you in shape for this fight? The last fight, this guy did this and that. Do you think that this is going to happen? These are the questions you get asked at a fight like this. this and that do you think that this is going to happen these are the questions you get asked at a at a fight like this instead this guy says is it true that you served in prison on charges of managing prostitutes assaults and threatening and kidnapping did you do that are you a pimp and he had to on the spot by the way because he didn't know this was coming and this is at a press conference as you can imagine everybody went and leaned in like his holy shit i was gonna ask him about his left jab but this is way
Starting point is 01:08:08 fucking more interesting where did you find that and he admits it right there on the stage i went to prison for 18 months in my teens it was a little more than that and we'll talk all about it and um he would not uh elaborate on what exactly it was or whether he received any treatment for this fucking shit that he was in there for. Has he gone to a psychologist or has he done something to whatever? You know, have you done anything to fix yourself or any shit like that? And he won't really answer anything like that. let's go back in time to may of 2000 okay right where he and his three friends were found guilty of terrorizing four young women into working as prostitutes wow they forced young women to work as pro and it was brutal too we'll talk about it it was fucking brutal it was they weren't
Starting point is 01:08:57 prostitutes to begin horrible no they were no my god he met some girl working at a store he forced her to be a dancer and then forced her to turn tricks as well. Wow. And they would tell them that they were saving the money for them. And when they got enough, they'd give it to them so they could start. They'd say, what's your dream? What's your dream? They'd act like we're like your life coaches, basically.
Starting point is 01:09:17 We're going to help you. We're going to help you fuck your dream into reality. And we'll save the money. And then when it's time, we'll go, here you go. Go achieve your dreams and we'll send you off with butterflies and doves and it's going to be beautiful. That's the pitch. And then they just control them with physical violence after they realize that that's bullshit. Obviously, all these women are young ladies at the time.
Starting point is 01:09:42 Some of them were under 18, I believe, were having family problems, other difficulties and shit like that. And predator predators have a sixth sense for who is vulnerable and they know who to approach. That's might be more vulnerable or who's going to tell you to go fuck yourself and spray you with pepper spray. They know the difference. So what they did is they pretended to be in love with the women they romance them at first i'm your boyfriend like pimps do and then after that that's when they were like oh by the way this is what you're going to do but i'm going to help you because i'm helping you achieve your dream because i love you obviously i'm the only one who loves you you know what i mean this is
Starting point is 01:10:20 just a means to an end it's fucking gross they would force them to work for their escort agency okay called they they had multiple names for it they changed first it was called orgasm which is a little on the nose it's a little on the nose right it's too much it's right there then they changed it to obsession which is i don't know if calvin klein sued them i don't know what the legalities of that are but and then they said you know what fuck it orgasm and obsession is the name of our orgasm and obsession is the name of our business that we're going to run here llc quote business inc orgasm and obsession inc i believe is what that is unbelievable i mean you what do you it's hard we need the corporate minutes seriously you have to write down what goes on at these
Starting point is 01:11:12 meetings it's important the you know you should probably take a little more uh incognito name in case you get in trouble because what do you get at uh orgasms and obsession well i mean i suppose i think it's legal the in montreal like escorts and stuff like that but not forced escorts that are like yeah you can't underage or trafficked or whatever um so it is um at this point adonis was a quebec golden gloves champion who was being groomed for the Olympics when this came out. So how the boxing press did not, quote, didn't know about this, that sounds like horseshit to me, right? Mills Lane is a judge. It feels like you could probably search that pretty easy.
Starting point is 01:11:57 Well, especially the Canadian or French-Canadian, to be more specific, boxing press. If this was a Gold Gloves champion who was on his way to the Olympics, he was on their radar. And then when he popped up later on going to the Commonwealth Games and becoming a boxer, none of them went, oh, yeah, that's that guy who pimped those fucking women back in the day. Nobody put that together with a name like Adonis. Nobody fucking put that together.
Starting point is 01:12:19 It's not like his name is Bill Smith. It's fucking Adonis. How many people you know named Adonis? One. Adorable Adrian is the only one I know. I know one, and it is Paul Mooney's grandson. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 01:12:34 That's fine. If you're Paul Mooney's grandkid, I'll give it to you. That's fine. Anyway, here, victims were threatened and beaten. victims were threatened and beaten. One girl said that they told her that they would kill her family if she stopped working. If she ran away and stopped working, they would just kill her family then. That's all.
Starting point is 01:12:58 The ringleader was a 25-year-old named Belande Fadal, who is a tiny, scrawny little fuck. He's a tiny, scrawny little guy, and the other three including adonis are big tough guys that's what that's how it is he's the skinny little pimp here um they said that uh blonde athedal would have sex with all of them as a way to control them like pimps do um later on they'll be forced to put boxing gloves on and fight each other until one of them are knocked out what women we'll talk about why that is that they did that it's pretty fucking insane um yeah and also they were forced to perform sexual acts together and all that for the amusement of the guys they treated them like they
Starting point is 01:13:36 were you know whatever so yeah so they were only allowed to leave the apartment when they were going to see clients as well other they were always accompanied by one of these guys who would take them to this shit on their return they'd have to give all their money up except they'd be able to keep enough just they'd give them like ten dollars just enough to buy like a fast food meal or some condoms or something like that but nothing where they could actually like get away from them with ten dollars you know what i mean obviously so they were promised half of what they made okay that was the deal was listen it's 50 50 we protect you we get you the clients we have the whole obviously the business apparatus set up so you know that cost but corporate structure costs money jenny's taking notes so what do you think that's free so all you've got is the product
Starting point is 01:14:21 yeah jesus christ so uh you, there's all of this. So they said we're going to keep half. But the rest of it, they told they promised the women that we're going to hold them in individual bank accounts for you guys. Yeah. Until you have enough to realize what these ambitions are that you told us you have. The one the one young lady this happened to said, quote, obviously, they got everything. They just took it. One young lady this happened to said, quote, obviously they got everything.
Starting point is 01:14:44 They just took it. So anyway, they found two other people guilty. 22 year old at the time, Kelly B and never being B and Vena and 23 year old Pascal Alman, Almanazi. So they are all found guilty of very, quote, various pimping charges, which I think is amazing. Also, death threats, assault causing bodily harm, all sorts of good shit. They've been in prison since 2001. So they were held since 1998. This is in 2000 that they're finally found guilty.
Starting point is 01:15:17 So they've been held for a long time. In October 1998, they were held. The B in Vena is the only guy who was granted bail everybody else had previous criminal records like adonis had a shitload of fucking arms length long criminal records so they kept him on no bail um so the the agency because it was registered like a business man it was like registered like a legit escort agency. Stunning. It's fucking disgusting. So the agency was in the name of Melissa Thebalt Lachance, who was a 22-year-old college student who helped them run the business while not at school. You know, you need someone to do paperwork and shit here. So she's also arrested in this whole thing and has to face trial.
Starting point is 01:16:02 So let's talk about this a little bit. These two young women who were forced into this shit here, they ended up, the magazine called La Presse, I guess it's French, everything's in French. Yeah, but this, so this is going to be kind of hard to read because it's translated from French. So a lot of it I have to kind of do on the fly here of what the fuck they're talking about. So anyway, these two young women in the group
Starting point is 01:16:30 plotted to have Fox and Adonis murdered. That was what they were going to do. That was their way out, okay? So they were... By the way, in jail, Adonis and his buddy Fox were still inseparable best friends in jail and shit. So it's not like he disavowed everything to do with that. So they were the ones who founded the escort agency with all of them.
Starting point is 01:16:55 The one guy was the leader, though. The girls were on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The girls were between 17 and 25 years of age. Like we said, not allowed to leave without permission. They, uh, all of them, there's four girls, four guys, all of them think that the guy at the time, they thought that all that the guy, one of the guys corresponding to them was their boyfriend. So all of them are in love with somebody in this group at first.
Starting point is 01:17:21 That's how they get these girls in here. in love with somebody in this group at first that's how they get these girls in here so one of the girls here um was i guess adonis himself was the main pimp of two of the girls he kind of was in control of them one was already uh a dancer one was already stripping when he met when she met adonis and um she said she liked him she her friend, I want one like that there. Because he's a handsome guy and shit like that. An Adonis. An Adonis. He's a fucking Adonis.
Starting point is 01:17:50 So then he recruits a second one at another club. And at the end of one of the shifts here, they get invited to a party. And she said that she already was willing to do anything for him right by the first night. She loved him. Stunning. Immediately. So now, Jesus Christ, they would collect the money from the girls. Like I said, leave them $10 to $20 a day.
Starting point is 01:18:16 Their rates were $120 an hour for sex. So that was that. So that was that. The one young lady said that within a few months she handed over about $40,000 to Adonna Stevenson. In a month? During this time. In a couple of months, yeah. Okay. So, yeah.
Starting point is 01:18:33 So, anyway, over a few month period, the girls are starting to get beat up all the time. Now they do it like if they don't bring up in enough money, they get the shit beaten out of them. Like actual street pimping. Like, you know you better get it back out on the track type of shit you know what i'm saying so um if you ever read pimp the book the the iceberg slim book yeah yeah you ever read it yeah that's that's he describes all this very much in in detail and this is he's following the playbook here this is the playbook if he beats her with a wire hanger a heated up wire hanger that's you know it'll be like he's running it straight out of the book so he's beating them
Starting point is 01:19:10 up when they're all beating them up when they don't have enough when they don't bring in enough money apparently the fox guy just has sex with them rapes them whenever he feels like it forces them to have sex with her with him um one day the one one of the young ladies tells the other that she wants to kill adonis that's the thing okay let's kill him yeah she said he keeps hitting me he hits me more and more often he's hitting me really hard and uh i gotta kill this fuck yeah i gotta fucking kill this guy so because one day he showed her a knife okay and And he tells her to this is fucking horrible. Okay. This is a keep this in mind.
Starting point is 01:19:48 This is our guy here. Showed her a knife, according to her, and told her to choose either. Either he's going to fuck or someone's. I don't know if it's him or somebody else because it's in French. So I don't know the exact deal. I don't know if it's him or somebody else because it's in French, so I don't know the exact deal. But either him or somebody else is going to fuck her in the ass or he's going to stick this in her ass tonight. Oh, my God. Terrible choices.
Starting point is 01:20:16 Yeah, and then he beats her up all the time. So obviously she wants to kill him, which is understandable. The other young lady convinces the first one that actually it's better to kill fox he's the guy we want to kill okay he's kind of the leader of this shit um and she said i have a regular customer that can take care of this for us i think oh he'll try to rescue me so that's the deal here so that is anyway it's about uh prostitution is that you are around some pretty unsavory fellows that are willing to do bad shit yeah you could you get you have a lot of connections i think if you're in that prostitutes closer to finding a hitman than i am oh definitely absolutely where's a hitman go
Starting point is 01:20:55 for love jimmy yeah you can't you can't be you can't have somebody find a regular woman you know so this is a good plot they're gonna they're gonna do this if they kill him they feel like it's gonna be like it's gonna be like stranger things like it's a hive mind they killed the one all the bats will fall out of the sky and that'll be the end of it you know what i mean the vines will die steve won't be getting choked anymore everyone's happy so as long as you don't just keep opening other things and giving more power well that's the problem every goddamn time there's another fucking gate. So it's whack-a-mole with these gates.
Starting point is 01:21:27 I got an idea. Let's abandon Hawkins. What do you say? Give it to him. Say, you know what? Do whatever the fuck you want here. It's the middle of nowhere. We don't care.
Starting point is 01:21:36 We're all going to leave. It sucks. Yeah, it looks like every other town around. Just go to another one. It doesn't matter. Who gives a shit? It's already destroyed. The fucking courthouse is broken now. What we talking about anyway i'm not gonna talk to you
Starting point is 01:21:47 i gotta piggyback this is bullshit this is a horse shit and i'm not dealing with it so before the plot comes because the plot starting to move along here they're getting they have a plan and uh you know i'm rooting for them they got a guy yeah they got a guy they got a target they got a plan before it happens though the first girl who wanted to have adonis killed and then the other one said no no let's kill that one i have a customer that girl spills the beans and tells fox everything tells on the second girl okay he's super pissed off clearly pimps get mad when you want to have them killed it's a weird thing pimps are extra sensitive and then when you want to have them killed they get super bitchy so
Starting point is 01:22:29 the whole gang decides that they were going to punish roxanne for this this is the what the what the they call her roxanne in the article but that's not her name so it's just to give it the that's the second girl or that's yeah um that's the second girl who who was getting the plan to hire the person right so the first young lady who told on her uh is forced to watch this as well what do they do so um anyway they ended up uh he he fox jumps on roxanne and sitting on her in the living room on the sofa i I guess, and hitting her. And then Adonis and one of the others get involved and everybody starts working her over and beating the shit out of her. Okay.
Starting point is 01:23:12 There's blood everywhere. Apparently, Fox pulls out a knife and is feigning like he's going to stab her. He comes in real hard and then stops right before he gets to her a bunch of times. So she doesn't know when he's going to do it or if he's going to do it, which is psychological torture. Yeah. He didn't end up stabbing her. She said, the young lady getting beat, said, quote, everyone hit me basically. You eat punches in the head, the ribs in the face.
Starting point is 01:23:39 Oh, dear Lord. Jesus Christ. She got a broken nose and a fractured jaw. Jesus Christ. She got a broken nose and a fractured jaw. So the next day she wakes up sore and, you know, bloody and I'm sure in terrible pain. And they beat her up again. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 01:23:56 Okay. Yeah. They beat him up again. And she then, because she's getting beat up so much, she goes, well, I'll tell on somebody else. Stop beating me. I'll tell you what. I got some information, too. Yeah. The girl who told on me, I'll tell you what she's doing.
Starting point is 01:24:12 She's doing stuff, too. Yeah. So this is fucking horrible. Now they're turning on each other to try to do all this. They've both done it. I'm sure the one who told on her did it to try to get some sort of extra. Right. She was getting leniency.
Starting point is 01:24:24 Status. Yeah. Yeah. That's what she's going for so she says the first one now who's like i said getting beat up says well the one who told on me is stealing by keeping money because some of the customers are giving her extra money and she's not giving it to you she's keeping it and she told me about it she's got a bunch of money on top of it so adonis turns around and blasts her in the face punches her right in the fucking face we've seen him punch people yeah punching a young lady in the face yeah so this is what he does to a fucking you know 18 year old girl here so then quote after that he took a knife he leaned it on
Starting point is 01:25:02 my fingers upside down there but he pushed the same you know i felt the pressure of the knife she said um then um she uh told him uh or he told her after that he pressed the knife against her made her all scared and then said quote come to bed you know you're my wife and that i love you right that's what she said that's what he said after he punched her and fucking held the knife up to her that was this is pimp shit and uh and i didn't i didn't even do that no that's that's downright criminal is what that is very very very criminal i would say so jesus christ man this is crazy so to continue this whole thing guys are like, okay, these two girls are telling on each other. Looks like they're both doing shit that we don't know about and all this type of thing. So let's make them fight each other.
Starting point is 01:25:53 Okay, we're going to have a boxing match between them. So Adonis brings the boxing gloves because he's the boxer here. He brings the gloves. Each of them have a pair. Quote, all shots are allowed no holds barred punch anywhere no holds barred living room chick fight is what they're saying so um then uh roxanne was told that it quote if i didn't this is what she said if i didn't knock isabel out then fox will knock me out so that's what it is so she's gonna try to
Starting point is 01:26:23 knock her friend out cold otherwise she'll be knocked out by some man so horrible this is fucking gross so um at the end by the end of it's been months going on with this shit um apparently one of the young ladies here was acting trying to act like she was going with the program and all that sort of thing she ends up getting permission to go out to eat with her father. Okay? They give her permission. Yeah, that'll stop questions if those are happening. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:26:51 I mean, after a while, the father's going to send somebody looking, you know, that he's going to come looking for. So she swore she would not say anything. She wore tons of makeup to hide her fucking constant bruises and everything like that. But once she's sitting with her father she bursts into tears and spills it and tells him everything that's been going on and what they've been doing to her and he ends up hiring hiding her in a safe place and she files a complaint with the police there we go yeah um so jesus christ this is fucking crazy so she's gone
Starting point is 01:27:24 and then now they panic because they're like oh shit she took off we don't know who she's telling what to so now they start moving the girls from motel to motel every day they're just shifting them the walls are closing in it's walls yeah yeah it's bad shit um so then but after a while nothing happens no cops come looking for him i don't know if they couldn't find him at the motels or what so they just returned to the apartment they were at to begin with and resume life as normal and then uh october 21st of 98 in the early morning the montreal police arrived and kicked the door in and uh everybody gets fucking everybody gets handcuffed the girls that are there the guys
Starting point is 01:28:05 everybody gets handcuffed all sorts of 32 charges total against all these guys pimping death threats aggravated assault 32 get that you name it it's on there it's a lot girl fights all kinds that's the other thing too you don't have any insurance for that and that's that's really where they get you they got al capone on tax revasion remember so i mean they'll get you they'll get this gang on insurance fraud or something have a medic on hand yeah it was like tosos out there so after they get arrested a few days after they do their pleas uh they all asked to be released yeah and i don't think they realize the seriousness of the situation dead Dead ass serious. Listen to the quote that he tells the judge.
Starting point is 01:28:50 This is absolutely fucking clueless. Quote, my goal is to be able to go to the Olympics. Before the arrest, I practiced really regularly, six hours a day. I train in the morning. I run for two hours. Judge is like, I don't give a fuck. If you were fucking literally Superman flying through the air, saving children from falling into fucking ravines, you're not going anywhere, motherfucker. You know what you did? You're forcing innocent girls into prostitution that otherwise would have never done this.
Starting point is 01:29:20 And you're beating the shit out of them. Fucking insane. So the judge goes, you're not going anywhere, dickhead. Jail is where you're going. Yeah. So now in court, one of the women, the one who is in love with Adonis,
Starting point is 01:29:32 because there's, like I said, they all have the one that they love. She testified that he was, quote, just obeying orders. Who the fuck is giving him orders? We've watched him fight. Imagine him bare-fisted. No one's giving him orders.'ve watched him fight are you imagine him bare-fisted no one's giving him orders you can't tell that man what to do no he will fucking break your face so
Starting point is 01:29:51 um and another all the other women disputed that characterization but most of them said that the guy they liked was just following orders so it was like one of those but everyone else was terrible was the thing so somebody's giving orders someone's following something and uh they also said that uh stevenson ended up not testifying in his own defense because he said he told the judge that he would like to but he fears retaliation from his companions so you know he can't tell his side of the story it's it's a damn shame his olympic level boxer and he's afraid of these guys. I'm terrified of them.
Starting point is 01:30:26 I haven't heard the word gun once yet. Have you? Not once. No. I heard one guy has a knife. Right. Stevenson with his fists. I'll take over any of these schlubs with a knife.
Starting point is 01:30:35 First of all. And Adonis has a knife too. And he's got a knife too. Yeah. But I mean, he could throw it down and just punch a guy out the window for Christ's sake. Looks like he got hit by an 18-wheeler when he's done with them. So one of the young ladies who testified said she was beaten, raped, forced to box other girls until one was knocked out. All of this shit.
Starting point is 01:30:57 They said that, quote, they told me if I escaped, they would kill me and my family. So I wouldn't leave. I was too terrified. This is the 17-year 17 year old by the way she said she uh she told them she would give them 15 000 if they didn't harm her family but they bargained for 25 000 so that's more un-fucking-real so uh yeah she was 17 when she met the one guy in the fall of 97 she moved into the apartment that she that he shared with everybody a week after he met she met him
Starting point is 01:31:31 because she wasn't getting along with her mother 17 so uh she was immediately pressured to start dancing she said after she resisted and cried they wore her down and she eventually did it and gave in. So after a week of dancing in rural Quebec, she returned to the apartment and they told her, all right, now it's time to get you some work at our escort service. You're ready now, they said. So she worked two days before they decided to open up their basically they loaned her out to an escort company. Yeah. And then after two days, they were like, why are we doing that? Why don't we just start our own?
Starting point is 01:32:09 And they took her back. And they said, we're going to start our own because this is a lot of money here. So she said they would take all the money that she made. She said, quote, he would put it in an account for our future, is what she told the judge. When she won. They're hedge fund guys, see see that's the thing she said but that's the thing they were putting it in it's all an investment you know what i mean i had it all in a 401k and they were like that's crazy no you gotta diversify so she said that she would
Starting point is 01:32:36 if she wanted something to eat she'd have to ask for money and she never saw her money again other than money for food and shit like that so um yeah like we said the orgasm and obsession here which is definitely the name of this episode orgasm and obsession there's no doubt about that so the um they said they were all kept hostage everybody testified that um uh adonis was definitely there and definitely a main contributor and definitely scared the shit out of everybody they talked in court about the fact that they plotted to kill Adonis. And, yeah, she said, quote, oh, the one guy, Balandi, quote, burned my back with a cigarette. Oh, what the fuck, man?
Starting point is 01:33:17 Jesus Christ. Then she said, quote, they would hit me until they got tired of it. Jesus. Good Christ. This is fucking horrible. The judge, Jean-Pierre Bonin, Bonin, whatever the fuck his name is, he said, there is no doubt whatsoever that the defendants lived off the fruits of the prostitution of all the young girls who are described in the indictment. Young girls were seriously beaten. They were forced to fight each other.
Starting point is 01:33:44 They were forced to make gestures of lesbianism. Gestures of lesbianism? Hold on. There's a new contender for the title of this fucking show now. Wait a second. Back up the truck here, everybody. Orgasm and obsession or gestures of lesbianism. That's wow.
Starting point is 01:34:04 Gestures of lesbianism? What's wow yeah gestures of lesbianism what the fuck is that sexual contact with each other would have been fine orgasms and obsession has about a two inch height uh difference uh on on on gestures of lesbianism but the reach the reach is incredible it is gestures of lesbianism from a judge in a courtroom. He said they have received threats when they have on occasion indicated their intention to leave the group. And they talked about the structure of it. He said, quote, Adonis had control over two young girls whose income he received. He was a partner in the computer company that served as a lawful front for the gang.
Starting point is 01:34:43 And he was so they were doing that, too. He was present when the girls were beaten up as well. They are found guilty, all of them. Fox, who's the leader, is sentenced to, you, sir. Guess what he gets. Fox is going to get six years. You, sir, may fuck off five years. Close, yeah?
Starting point is 01:35:02 Close. Canada has, I don't know about now, but then had way less heavy penalties for pandering, pimping, whatever you want to call it. But yeah, here, that's a fucking, they'll give you 20 for that shit here. There you get five. And the rest of them, Adonis and the rest of them, you, sirs, may fuck off four years in prison. Oh, my. That's more than 16 months. That's, well well they've already spent 20 months in jail awaiting this motherfucker tried to say that after the sentence he got time served that time counts uh for that and apparently um he served 20 months in preventative detention
Starting point is 01:35:42 i don't know what that is but at that time time, in Montreal at least, that time that you'd spend there counted as double the time. So he gets extra credit for that as well. So while in jail, though, on April 2nd, 2000 here, Adonis is placed in the protection sector of the prison with one of his co-defendants. They are confined to the cell 23 hours a day. Yikes. One hour out in the yard. The whole deal here. the prison with one of his co-defendants they're confined to the cell 23 hours a day yikes one hour out in the yard um the whole deal here um adonis though he adonis is he doesn't take any shit in jail as we're talking about um apparently he said to somebody hey are you coming this was in front of a reporter and uh adonis said are you talking to me like that and the guy said yeah and then
Starting point is 01:36:25 a scuffle breaks out between them okay this is to go out can it come with us this is going out for visiting time adonis said you're talking to me like that yeah motherfucker so a scuffle breaks out between a dozen prisoners wow so it's like adonis and his friend versus 10 people essentially okay when the guards come when they get there the guy who said yeah i'm talking to you like that is lying on his back in front of the cell unconscious motionless yeah the guard watches adonis walk up and kick this guy in the head again oh boy give him a real hard kick um so the prison official after this the officer this is his statement quote for three days. I dreamed of this, of this there because I had never seen this, never seen something so violent in my entire 11 year career of working in a prison.
Starting point is 01:37:17 He's never the most violent guy in prison is that there's another contender for a title gestures of lesbianism, orgasm and obsession and the most violent man in prison. There's another contender for a title. Gestures of lesbianism, orgasm and obsession, and the most violent man in prison. So this guy had blood pouring from his mouth. He went into seizures as well. Yeah. Rushed to the hospital where he has a double skull fracture and falls into a deep coma. Yeah. Yeah. He fucking broke this man. hospital where he has a double skull fracture and his falls into a deep coma yeah yeah he fucking broke this man uh he's hospitalized for 10 days and survives though wow yeah they dump him back in there lucky to pull through he says his claim is that he was attacked by a dozen guys some of
Starting point is 01:38:00 them were armed with quote homemade pickaxes yeah so jesus you know he said that he uh he couldn't do what he said knocked out five or six of them before the guards got there yeah when the guards got there there was literally bodies laying everywhere it looked like 11 had just torn up the the day room you know what i mean like it was fucking crazy bodies all over and um and a plinko chip falling. Blink, blink, blink. And he's bleeding from his eyes. So he says, quote, They knew I loved boxing. They wanted to test me.
Starting point is 01:38:31 That's how prison is. Yeah. He just tested him. So they end up convicting him of aggravated assault on this. Really? It should be attempted murder, I think. He put him in a coma and kicked him while he was down. But, I i think he put him in a coma and kicked him while he was down um but i mean he put him in a coma that gets you some prison cred right sure does
Starting point is 01:38:51 yeah and it should give you a different nickname when you're boxing again rather than superman you could be like the comatoser the incomerator e pluribus comus it could be so many different things i like the incominator that's the one for me the incominator the incomerator so um then there's a a lawsuit now coming from that too that guy's family wants to sue him uh he's charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault they drop the aggravated or the attempted murder he pleased to aggravated assault. They drop the aggravated or the attempted murder. He pleads to aggravated assault there. They give him, you, sir, may continue to fuck off. How much time?
Starting point is 01:39:32 Another four years. One month. You got a month for that? 30 days for nearly killing a man. Wow. I think that was one where it was like the judge is like kind of self-defense ish but you did go over the edge yeah prisoner on prisoner he wanted it to begin with they attacked you but then once you had the upper hand you didn't need to kick him in the skull again probably i think is
Starting point is 01:39:55 what that is so another month there so he then finally is released in late 2001 from prison. So he does about three years-ish in prison, even though he said 16 months. Right. It's not. Well, maybe that's one is jail and one was prison, I think is the difference. I'll bet you're right. So he's really parsing some semantics here.
Starting point is 01:40:18 He gets out and he says, I will never set foot inside a prison again, ever. And it is time to go back to the gym. He says, quote, I paid my dues to society. He said, it has been 14 years. That's a long time since it happened. This was 2012. This is at the press conference or later on afterwards.
Starting point is 01:40:42 I've never had a criminal record since. I learned a lot while I was in jail. If the wrong people are around you, I was very young. I'm older now. I see the life. Okay. Then he says, quote, this is fucking funny. You know what?
Starting point is 01:40:57 We should probably do an in their own words on this, I think. Right? Because, I mean, if he's going to say crazy shit. He's going to continue to say crazy shit. Yeah. You know, well, this isn't even that crazy, honestly, but then he gets in it. This is more like a mushy one. It's good for the in their own words.
Starting point is 01:41:10 So let's do it. In their own words, quote, I was a stupid kid, man. I was only young, and I hurt people without truly realizing. It's hard when you come from nothing and get mixed in with the wrong crowds. I wouldn't say I was scared for my health, but I was scared I would never come out of prison.
Starting point is 01:41:27 When you go into a place like that, you never truly know if you're going to get out. Some fucked up stuff goes on in there. See, I was lucky though. I had good people and a good family to come out to. Not everyone has that. Of course, I had boxing too. That gave me the motivation
Starting point is 01:41:43 and the distraction to stay out of trouble. I made a promise to myself that I will never go back there once I was out. Okay. There you go. So he's thrown it down. Then he gets mad because the press, La Presse magazine, had that story detailing these young ladies' accounts of what happened. He got angry at that. Why?
Starting point is 01:42:10 Well, he said, he's super, I'll tell you exactly why. Quote, when I become world champion and do good things, it's not on the front page. That doesn't make sense. You can call that racist. Okay. It's racist. Now, while a lot of things might be racism and i don't know in montreal i feel like anyone who does it was not a you know who doesn't look like it is probably i
Starting point is 01:42:32 don't know but that's not racist no that's it wasn't even a mention that you're black that was four young ladies right telling their story of how you beat pimped raped and fucking sodomized them robbed them systematically and under the guise of a fucking corporate structure and you're gonna call that racist sorry dude that's not racist there's a lot of racism for years yeah there's a lot of racism and that isn't it we'll just say that that's that's that's not where that falls maybe those people are racist but it doesn't matter. The story is fucking real. I don't know. So the promoter, Michel, he is quick to point out that Stevenson was not ever found guilty of rape, sexual assault, or aggravated assault.
Starting point is 01:43:15 Now, what he was found guilty of was, you know, forcing women to have sex with other people, but he didn't rape them. That's literally what the promoter of his fights is saying now. Don't do that, man. That's a bad look. That is fucking wild that he said that. He said that he wasn't found guilty of those things. Michelle says he was a part of a gang that operated an escort service, and he said Adonis was just merely a small player who was following orders.
Starting point is 01:43:46 Right. Where was he in Nuremberg about 75 fucking years ago because he would have been a great lawyer for like you know rudolph hess or something this is fucking ridiculous holy goddamn shit this is crazy uh so he said wow then he realized what he was saying in this interview and went wow i sound like a fucking asshole and he said quote i don't want to diminish the fact what he was saying in this interview and went, wow, I sound like a fucking asshole. And he said, quote, I don't want to diminish the fact that he was beating girls. You just did. Even though I am. I don't want to diminish the fact that he was beating girls.
Starting point is 01:44:15 That's very bad. Really? Thanks. Wow. Thanks for the real moral stance there, pal. You really drew a line in the sand. Beating 17-year-old women and forcing them to have sex with people for money that you keep is bad wow thanks shit the moral fucking center of montreal here he said it's a huge mistake he made it's something inconceivable to do that
Starting point is 01:44:38 that's parts true um so uh yeah he said though that uh he didn't rush into the relationship with stevenson when he before he turned pro he said i looked into him i knew what i was getting into which is even worse it's better to say i didn't know about this he said at the beginning sure i hesitated yeah you think i wish i would have done more i wanted to know what it was and who he was but after talking to people any of those were the four women that they kill held captive because those are the people i'd want to talk to we believe someone like adonis deserves a second chance he surrounded himself with bad people and paid the price he has taken his life under control okay people calm down is what he's saying yeah give him a break give him a fucking break so
Starting point is 01:45:26 now uh he's got a new trainer at this point just before this all comes out emmanuel stewart decided to take him on really emmanuel stewart's legendary trainer he's the guy always standing next to lennox lewis who looks like he's from 1975 he looks like nipsey Russell in 1975. He's got the same hair. That's what he reminds me of. So he said that his, you know, how much did now they're talking about, because Emanuel Stewart's really famous worldwide. So like, how much did he know about this? Did he know what he was getting himself into?
Starting point is 01:45:57 And he basically dodges the question. Dodges the question. And he said he always does a thorough search on his prospective clients that's all he would say it's only fun wouldn't say he knew about or didn't know about it but he does a search a thorough search then you were very you knew about him yeah because i did a thorough search and i found it so um the girls in 2012 here these young ladies then they say they still like shake in fear when they think about being in this under these people's wing which i don't blame them um now they're pissed off that everybody
Starting point is 01:46:33 loves that he's a big boxer now one of the young ladies said quote he doesn't deserve to be adored like that with all he has done to us what would he what would he say if this happened to one of his daughters fair enough um yeah uh they're saying one of them also said they keep acting like he was just the one guy the one body he was just a bodyguard that's not true he was much more than a bodyguard she said he was fox's right hand man yes um they said even if he refuses to admit it he beat the girls uh one said quote i think he was doing it to obey orders to prevent Fox from killing us. It was to protect us from the worst.
Starting point is 01:47:09 That's the one that likes him. Yeah. She also said, quote, the guys were so manipulated that we're also manipulated in there, not just the girls. Jesus Christ. At the time, often Adonis would go to the gym often because he was fucking training for the Olympics. One of the young ladies said, quote, I think it was his escape. He probably won't admit it, but I think he was too afraid of the chief. I don't buy any.
Starting point is 01:47:33 She is still brainwashed 15 years later. He heads over to LA Fitness as an out for the day? What are we talking about? God, he must have cocked her ham something amazing to make her. And I'm not saying, I ham something amazing to make her 50. And I'm not saying, I'm just trying to make fun of her. She had horrible things, but she still thinks that they had a relationship. She's out of her mind.
Starting point is 01:47:53 You weren't in a relationship. No, she needs a lot of therapy to know that she is, first of all, fucking worth more than that. To think that you had a relationship with your kidnapper slash pimp rapist. That's a fucking ridiculous thing for anybody to think that. I feel terrible for her. Jesus Christ, that's terrible. The next fight that he's taking here, the guy he's fighting against is Gonzalez. What the hell is his first name?
Starting point is 01:48:17 I can't find his first name. It's in before the fight. It doesn't matter. His last name is Gonzalez here. So Gonzalez, he's 27 and 1 coming into the fight. He is a Phoenix, Arizonazona native this guy here yeah and he predicts a victory over stevenson they're both southpaws so that's good uh this guy trained in calgary he said for the higher altitude and colder climate he wanted to be like rocky four so uh yeah he said he's gonna do it um he said he's also going to wear a logo on his trunks
Starting point is 01:48:47 that helps express his support for natalie's house a women's shelter in arizona that helps that helps teenage girls recover from sexual exploitation and abuse oh he's adonis is about to be pissed well this guy had been working with them for years apparently this is he's not just doing it to piss Adonis off. This is just a charity that he's always working with here. But it's also, he said, I'm not doing this to use it as a ploy to fuck with his head. I'm very supportive of that. They also, in the article, say he's been cited numerous times for his community service in Phoenix.
Starting point is 01:49:22 When we hear an athlete and cited on this show it never turns into for his good works it's like commendations yeah it's not common it's not medals and shit the key to the city we never hear for his community service in phoenix including a campaign to help cancer patient erin goodwin get an expensive medical machine in her battle to ward off infection stemming from her double mastectomy surgery in 2010. Dear God. This guy is a fucking nice guy. We'll put it that way. He said he's going to wear the logo.
Starting point is 01:49:51 He said, quote, this is what he said about fucking Donna Stevenson before the fight. Holy shit is this inflammatory. Quote, I know his past. He likes kids and girls. If you're poor and rob a bank, you can be forgiven. Or if you kill, if someone has threatened you. But when you rape and beat up little girls, what kind of guy is that? He's a piece of shit.
Starting point is 01:50:13 You can't forgive that. It's an issue that bothers me, but it's his past, not mine. He's a piece of shit. Can you argue with any of those things? No. No. What kind of a guy is that? He's a piece of shit. Are you sure Gonzalez isn't of those things? No. No. What kind of a guy is that? He's a piece of shit.
Starting point is 01:50:26 Are you sure Gonzalez isn't an Italian name? Oh, for the kids. He's a piece of shit, this fucking guy. He's like a big fucking steaming pile of fucking shit on the ground on a cold day. You know, the fucking steam's coming off of it. That's what he is. Hot shit on a cold sidewalk. I hope Gonzalez wins.
Starting point is 01:50:45 coming off of it that's what he is hot shit on a cold sidewalk i hope gonzalez wins so yeah the then but the reporters at this point because adonis is an exciting fighter yeah everybody turns silver real fast in this whole thing everyone's like well i mean come on here's one reporter here this is uh uh tim starks editor of the Queensberry Rules, some Internet thing. He says, quote, even in the sport where people come from these horrible backgrounds, where fighters have done horrible things outside the ring, Adonis Stevenson really stands out as an extra fuck up. As he's saying, he's a piece of shit. OK. Yeah. He's saying even where that's even in a fucking sport full of assholes, there's a reason why he's wearing a crown.
Starting point is 01:51:28 Yeah. He said, quote, this sort of thing. This is Nigel Collins, obviously a British person, I would assume. It sounds as British as it gets. He is former editor of The Ring magazine. He says, quote, this sort of thing is way out of a hole for a lot of people, whether it's prison or an economic situation. Who knows?
Starting point is 01:51:51 Boxing is a refuge for the outcast and the outlaw in this world. That's true. It's like a restaurant kitchen, you know what I mean? Or stand up comedy. One of the two. So before this fight, they each make the limit. It's at this point where Stevenson starts starts accusing gonzalez of being racist against him okay um yeah he's a mexican guy from phoenix and uh who said you who said you rape kids on earth james well they are racist but he said that i think this is more about actions than people
Starting point is 01:52:21 than your race at this point once you've once you've beaten up and fucking fucked and pimped young ladies whatever anyone says about you unless it's a racial slur you can't count it as racist that's what they're mad at right even if they're a really racist person i bet they're madder at what you did than what color you are you know what i'm saying so i feel like that's fuck you're anyway never mind i don't even want to get raping kids come on man you're rape you're fucking jesus christ man or if that's mind. I don't even want to get raping kids. Come on, man. You're right. You're fucking Jesus Christ, man. Or if that's allegedly was I don't think he got convicted of actual rape. So we can't say he's pimping young girls.
Starting point is 01:52:52 You pimped younger at your part underage. Yeah. You're splitting hairs. Who cares if you. It's fucking ridiculous. So he did all that shit here. it's fucking ridiculous so he uh did all that shit here uh he said he was uh wasn't found guilty of rape sexual assault or aggravated assault he's very upset stevenson says quote i'm going to knock this guy out and then i'm going to put him in court i'm not finished with him he's
Starting point is 01:53:17 gonna johnny depp him he said he's not going to have he's not going to have to come back to montreal he's going to have to come back to montreal believe me i'm going to put on a clinic against this guy he would he said i was a stinking oh shit hard n hard n word he said he said he was a stinking n word he's a redneck racist which he can't be a mexican and a redneck now you can act like a redneck if you're mexican i've seen it plenty of times but rednecks hate mexicans so you can't really do that. You can't call them the thing they hate. You can't call a black guy a Klansman. You can't call a Mexican a redneck.
Starting point is 01:53:52 It just doesn't work that way. This is what... Yeah, this is the only... And the report that talks about all this, they talk about there was no racial slurs. This is what he said. Quote, this is what Gonzalo said that he took as racist, Stevenson stevenson quote he's like a big elephant he walks around trots around doesn't know too much okay that's no that's a boxing style yeah i mean that's you can't
Starting point is 01:54:16 yeah there are certain things that are racist uh to call elephant is not a black is not a black racist thing right that's not a racist slur no maybe it is black listeners tell us if we're if you've been called an elephant in hate before let us know because we apologize if that's true but i've never heard of it at all anyway so that's what he said stevenson is uh upset about it and he said that uh you know maybe this will sell a few more tickets all this hype is what stevenson was, but I'm going to knock his ass out. He also says that, quote, this is Michelle. I told Stevenson to focus on the fight and then think about the procedure. I know he wants to hurt the guy and now he's more upset, but I told him forget about it and focus.
Starting point is 01:54:58 Yeah. Now, this isn't the first time a boxer's threatened another boxer with suing, which is the dumbest shit I've ever heard before. This is during this same time period. Bernard Hopkins said he was going to sue Jean Pascal, who had accused him of taking steroids, performance enhancing drugs. He beat him and then he never ended up pursuing the lawsuit because he beat the shit. It's so weird. Why would boxers sue boxers? Gee, if there was only a way to settle the score without wasting a court's time, you
Starting point is 01:55:27 know, if only we could hear me out. This is a crazy idea. If we could get them both to come to like a central location, maybe a large building so others can watch what happens. And then if they could come to like an agreement to maybe like enter a predetermined area, maybe we could rope that area off to keep them in and participants in, spectators out. And then they could physically engage each other.
Starting point is 01:55:50 And to make it fair, we could put a neutral observer in the ring, you know what I mean, with the two men fighting in order to enforce... That way you can enforce some pre-agreed upon rules of engagement, basically. You know? Oh, and in case there's no clear-cut winner, we should have a panel of non-biased observers judge the contest with some kind of scoring system if only we could have that
Starting point is 01:56:09 i like so much easier than court a court better and you know we should also probably sell tickets to it and yeah so we're making as many eyes on it and witnesses as possible yeah we know the outcome for sure what happened i tell everybody we'll get up places for cameras even that's a better idea take it and that way we can we can go back and rewind and watch and really see the outcome of this really of this uh contest let's make a rule here you're not allowed to sue anybody if you can legally beat the shit out of them yeah if you get to punch them in the face over it yeah you can't sue them whoop his ass that's your thing win the shit out of them yeah if you get to punch them in the face over it yeah you can't sue him whoop his ass that's your thing win the bigger part of the purse you'll get your
Starting point is 01:56:50 chance to win oh my god your day in court so here is uh showtime works for showtime boxing steven espinoza and they were asking him about whether his announcers are going to ask stevenson in pre-flight interviews about hey what's up with your pimping charges and shit? You know what I mean? So he said that his announcers would ask him about his past in pre-fight interviews, but they probably wouldn't mention it on the air unless they found it relevant to his work in the ring. And Stevenson with a left hook. Oh, my God. Like it was a 17-year-old girl he dropped to the canvas.
Starting point is 01:57:25 I wonder if he's going to rape him now. Let's find out. I believe he's trying to get him to have sex with other men. Pete, I think he's trying to get him. This is what he does, and then he's going to take him, and they're going to leave. Now they're leaving the ring together. This is what happens. He's going to take him back to a hotel room.
Starting point is 01:57:42 Oh, he'll be turning tricks by tomorrow. He'll be turning tricks by tomorrow. He'll be turning tricks by tomorrow. Absolutely. Back to you, Pete. Back to you. Good Larry Merchant on the outside. Down like an enslaved traffic young girl. Oh, my goodness.
Starting point is 01:57:56 Look at that. Hair popped up like a ponytail. So he said, quote, it's not something that we're going to shy away from or intentionally avoid. How would pimping come up during a boxing match? Boy, really, Tim slapped him. Yeah, look at that. He said, but at the same time, it's not something we're going to go out and intentionally out of our way to mention. The Tim Starks guy again, he said that they're talking about the whole thing.
Starting point is 01:58:30 He said that they're talking about the whole thing and there's a Showtime promo, I guess, for a fight with him later on where there's lyrics that say, so let me be your hero. I want to be your hero. And this guy got super mad and he was like, maybe if Showtime hadn't put that song in the background, I wouldn't have felt compelled to mention it. But now I feel like I have to. He said, I would rather like Adonis Stevenson. I would rather not have a bad guy to root against. I would rather it be a redemption story, but now when he wins, I'll be torn. Yeah, it's tough to
Starting point is 01:58:49 root for that guy. Emanuel Stewart, the trainer, he said, quote, of all the great world champions who've trained over the years at Kronk, which is the facility, Adonis has created the most excitement. He has unbelievable punching power, power focus and intensity
Starting point is 01:59:06 all these things are terrible great for boxing awful if you're pimping 17 year olds right i've had many world champions but his punching power and intensity isn't normal yeah a lot of shit isn't normal about him so he's seething adon, seething in his fucking sitting there just fucking I am doing so well. And which and if you're him, you can't fix the past. So if you've actually had some kind of revelation of your oh, my God, I was a terrible person. You have been on the straight and narrow for a long time now, blah, blah, blah. But is that something that can ever be erased? You know, young women.
Starting point is 01:59:44 I can't see pimping teenagers as something i can ever be like well i mean you sure everybody does that so anyway he's sitting around he's uh very upset about the whole thing he's seething he doesn't know what to do with himself uh he's he's trying to keep his mind occupied with projects and things hobbies he's trimming bonsai trees and little things like that. He's coming up with, you know, I need a chairman to redecorate my whole house, that sort of thing. And he hires the man for the job.
Starting point is 02:00:13 And he comes over, there's a knock at the door, and it's Dexter Manley, interior designer from New York City. And he says... How is it you've come to arrive here? Seriously, what? Oh, my God. You held a knife up to a young woman.
Starting point is 02:00:34 So let's just start from the beginning. Okay. So you're big and tough and you punch people and boom, boom, boom. And they fall down. And you're like, oh, I'm a big man. Okay. Fine. Fine.
Starting point is 02:00:43 Fine. That's fine. But then you take a teenage girl, and you're just slapping her around, holding knives to her. Do you think it's fun to watch two young ladies box? Have you ever seen a young girl fight? There's hair pulling.
Starting point is 02:00:57 You take that out of it. What is it? It's nothing. It's nothing. Oh, no. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry, but I can't keep him away i can't let me in oh god look at him oh god vince vince you're that vein is pulsating in your forehead please no out of the way dexter this one's mine look at him he punches like 11 shooting someone up against a wall look at it oh god oh my god and and he'll beat up young women do you understand the rare combination this what oh hold on make it all come together for me take your shirt off take it off oh god jesus vince
Starting point is 02:01:42 i'll saw him take him out of here. No. No, I need him. Vince. Vince. Oh, my God. Poof. And in a poof of feather boas and 1099s and sexual assault charges, everybody's gone. And Adonis is very confused. But excited for his match against all the divas.
Starting point is 02:02:01 He is. He's like, this is cool. They're going to have me. I can do this. I can beat up every girl they have there probably so february the 18th 2012 is this fight jesus el martillo gonzalez 27 and 1 coming into this fight here uh this fight is for the vacant ibf uh was it yeah vacant ibf intercontinental Super Middleweight title. Wow, that's a lot of words.
Starting point is 02:02:29 It's for all the marbles here, everybody. And it doesn't even last a round. Stevenson knocks him out cold in the first round. Damn it. And this is Gonzalez's last fight ever. He never fights again. Well, I mean, you can't. The shame.
Starting point is 02:02:44 He was 27-1 and it's just over. Fighting for the ladies, and you got beat by a lady beater. I think he brain damaged up, too, a little bit here. So 17-1 for Stevenson. What is this? April 20, 2012, Bell Center somewhere. I think that's Montreal. He fights Noe El Carbonero Gonzalez Alcoba.
Starting point is 02:03:05 There's a lot of names. He's 28-1, this guy. Adonis, second round TKO over him. So, very quick. Next up, Bell Center again. He fights Donovan Da Bomb George. Da Bomb George, yeah. 23-2-1 coming in.
Starting point is 02:03:23 This fight almost goes the distance it goes into the 12th round where Adonis gets him and TKO in the 12th round so he's 19-1 at that point next up he gets his rematch against Darnell Diesel Boone the guy who caught him with a lucky shot there
Starting point is 02:03:40 one loss he's now 19-20-3 Diesel here and Adonis knocks him out in the 6th round so gets his vengeance One loss. He's now 19-20-3, Diesel, here. And Adonis knocks him out in the sixth round. So gets his vengeance. He's 20-1 now. He's now fighting Chad Badd-Dawson. I guess Badd-Chad, probably.
Starting point is 02:03:58 Badd-Chad-Dawson. 31-2, this guy is coming in. So this is for the WBC World Light Heavyweight titles. This is the upper weight class now and uh this fight lasts 76 seconds oh no before adonis knocks him out fucking cold so yeah that didn't go well 21 and 1 here at this point um in the post fight he tells max kellerman who we've talked about yeah plenty quote i caught him and that's a and I caught him and that's a beautiful punch. And Dawson said, quote, It was a punch I didn't see. He caught me.
Starting point is 02:04:33 That's it. He caught me with a good punch. And then he pimped my sister out, which I don't appreciate. Stole my children and pimped them to the highest bidder. Really backhanded me. Yeah. I mean, Jesus Christ. I guess Dawson landed two of 16 punches
Starting point is 02:04:47 thrown wow two but stevenson only landed three of 15 but he only needed three to knock the guy out so wow he that guy had 33 professional fights and he got knocked out with three punches he got hit three times in the fight and got knocked out that's fucking wild man so this fight is uh the knockout is voted as ring magazine knockout of the year for 2013 and uh also this is when he's really going all out with his cape and his crown and all that horseshit so yeah this is he is king of the ring now he is ready to fucking roll um and would you like to see, by any chance, this fight? Let's see. Where is the Chad Dawson?
Starting point is 02:05:27 That's Gonzalez. Bad Chad is... Donovan George. He got ruined fast, huh? 75 seconds? 76 seconds. Not that much here. Where are we now?
Starting point is 02:05:38 Tony Ballew. That's a different guy. Is this old bad Chad? I don't know. Chad wasn't so bad. No, that is. Oh, that's later. Okay.
Starting point is 02:05:51 I fucking skipped bad Chad somehow. Where the fuck are you, Chad? You fucking loser. I had Chad queued up. I do so much work to queue shit and then I do this. I fucking queued it, man. Where did he go, Chad? He disappeared.
Starting point is 02:06:09 Chad, you fucking bitch. Disappeared like he did in the first. Where'd he go? God damn it. No, that's Donovan George. Is that back or forward? Where are we? Donovan George is later.
Starting point is 02:06:22 We haven't talked about him yet. Okay, okay. I never heard that name. So maybe that shot's coming up here. Okay, well, here we go. I can show you him knocking out Jesus quickly here. This is a very quick one. All right.
Starting point is 02:06:33 Here's Jesus. This is Jesus' last fight. Oh, that's why. And that's over for you, sir. He hit his head on the canvas. Yeah, he did. He did one of those. That was a lot.
Starting point is 02:06:43 This is Alcoba. No way is this one, no this is a cobra okay nope that's not what i want no come on you son of a bitch stop that what is this i just want yeah bad chad is this it? No. Oh. That's Donovan George. We haven't talked about Donovan George, so maybe Bad Chad is not in this? No, it's got to be. I don't know what the fuck is going on.
Starting point is 02:07:15 Either way, knock out of the goddamn whatever the fuck. Sorry about that. So anyway, his next fight, he fights, where is this here? He fights at the Bell Center against Tavoris Thunder Cloud. His name's Tavoris Cloud. He calls himself Thunder. Not bad. 24-1.
Starting point is 02:07:34 This fight, he knocks him out in the eighth round, does Adonis here, and wins the WBC World Light Heavyweight title here. So he's the champ, doing well. the WBC World Light Heavyweight title here, so he's the champ. Doing well. Next up, at the Pepsi Coliseum in Quebec City in 2013 in November,
Starting point is 02:07:52 he fights Tony the Bomber Balou. B-E-L-L-E-W. And he said, quote, Balou talks so much shit as well. I told him, when we get in the ring together, I'm going to knock your ass out. Knockout sell, and we both knew well. I told him, when we get in the ring together, I'm going to knock your ass out. Knockouts sell, and we both knew
Starting point is 02:08:08 that. I really wanted to stop him, and I did. Everybody told me that Baloo was a huge name in the UK and a really intelligent fighter. I surprised a lot of people that night again. 21-1 was Baloo, and he ends up being knocked out in the sixth round.
Starting point is 02:08:24 Going on. 23-1 for Stevenson at this point. 2003 he wins Ring Magazine and Sports Illustrated 2013 Fighter of the Year. Wow. Fighter of the Year and he says, quote, I am an example for
Starting point is 02:08:39 Quebec. I am the first black person from Quebec. He could probably just stop there, I'm sure. He said, I'm the first black person from Quebec who could probably just stop there I'm sure but he said I'm the first black person from Quebec who had problems and who became a world champion okay so next fight he's talking about he says I'll catch him and knock him out
Starting point is 02:08:56 he says some fans go take a beer go back some fans go take a beer go back stay in your seat don't move it can be very quick he's saying he's going to do that. It's about to be over. One of the journalists said, quote, he wants more. Just having a championship isn't enough for him.
Starting point is 02:09:12 He has more dreams and aspirations. He's setting out to complete those dreams. He wants to be the undisputed champion. He wants to nullify the division and be the only champion. He wants all the talk to be about him. And that's what he says here now the showtime guy again espinoza he says uh knockout sell both the casual and avid fans love decisive decisions there's a thrill of seeing that and for 10 straight fights that's
Starting point is 02:09:36 what adonis has been delivering so they love showing his fights he fights andres. Oh, Jesus. Andrage. Andres. A.N.D. That's we get that. R.Z.E.J. Andres. Andres. Andres. Andres.
Starting point is 02:09:54 Fanfara. Twenty five and two coming in. This is a unanimous decision win for Adonis at this point. By now, he has four kids. Jesus. Yeah. Four kids. adonis at this point by now he has four kids jesus uh yeah four kids um one of the guys by the way in his training camp said quote you know a lot of people a lot of haters bring up adonis's past yeah but he's a good guy a wonderful guy and you know a lot of people put on a front once they become someone he hasn't okay because he knows he's got pimping
Starting point is 02:10:25 charges in his fucking past how are you gonna act like you're better than anyone when you've been convicted of pimping teenagers so holy shit um michelle his promoter said adonis is a genuine good person good person one of his people that works with him is a former cop and he said he's a nice caring person a good guy and a real a good guy, and a real family man. Yeah. It's a real family man. Michelle, the promoter guy again, says, look, I don't want to excuse anything that he's done, but don't forget that he was raised in the street. That's what he said.
Starting point is 02:10:57 He says he did a bad thing, and I know he regrets it, but he promised himself that he's never going to go back to jail for the rest of his life and was going to do whatever it takes to make sure that he was going to change and he did what he had to do since then he's been an inspiration for everybody so we're not pimping forever he's never going to pimp a teenager again and you know i give him credit for not doing that we deserve a lot of credit jimmy i've never pimped a teenage girl of you uh my whole life never my whole entire life i've gone without pimping one i mean you never you never know. Things can change. But for now, it's not on my radar. He said about this, quote, I've changed. I'm a good example for kids who have problems.
Starting point is 02:11:34 You can turn it around. You can change your life. If you've had a bad situation, you have to stand above that and grow up. I've had a bad situation. And now I work hard and I put 110 110 in my work and hard work pays off i prove to the world if you desire to be a success and you are working for that you can be a good success so i prove it that's why i'm here now got it that means nothing thank you for nothing for saying nothing we appreciate that shit he says that he doesn't understand why people keep bringing up his past.
Starting point is 02:12:06 Because it's awful. It's fucking terrible. Yeah. The Michelle guy said he has a hard time to understand why they are still holding it against him. Because in every other sport or anywhere in society, he would be taken as an example of someone who was in a bad environment and did everything needed to change his life okay now i will say that because people give mike tyson fucking they act like mike tyson is fucking gandhi nowadays you know what i mean seems like it yeah it's like he's been arrested 150 fucking times for bad things like yes he's doing great now we're all very happy for him but keep in mind you know if you have a dog that's bitten someone just you
Starting point is 02:12:46 know hey keep an extra eye on him that's all i'm saying he is reckless when he talks to somebody just did an interview with him that uh if i were his uh publicist i'd have been like shut it down stop talking you've gone too far already yeah please, please stop. He's reckless when he talks. Stevenson goes on to say, or this Michelle guy, but there's always someone there that brings it up, and I know that hurts him very much. Oh, I'm sure it's terrible. His girlfriend, mother of his children's name, is Simone God, G-O-D. Really? Yeah, Simone God.
Starting point is 02:13:19 Okay. And she said that, quote. God and Adonis? God and Adonis. That's what we got right here. Unbelievable. Adonis and God. Gestonis. That's what we got right here. Unbelievable. Adonis and God gestures of lesbianism. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:13:37 She says, quote, he's made a great example to those who are 18, 19 black immigrants, minorities that have made mistakes but are willing to change. He said that. And then she he jumped in and said, I messed up. I went to prison, but that's not the end for me. I want to change my life. And I have Adonis Stevenson that's done it before me, and I know that I can do it. That's what you can say if you know him. So there you go.
Starting point is 02:13:59 December 19, 2014, Quebec City, Dimitri the Hunter Sokotsky. He is 22-2 coming into this fight. This is a fifth-round knockout for Adonis. He is 25-2 coming into this fight. This is a fifth round knockout for Adonis. He is 25-1. April 4, 2015 at the Pepsi Coliseum, Sakio the Scorpion Bika, 32-6 coming in. Unanimous decision win, 26-1. Michel again says, quote, most people think it's his punching power that makes him great, but it's way more than that. Adonis is a special fighter, a real special fighter. Okay.
Starting point is 02:14:28 You ever seen his thighs when they're glistening with just a little bit of sweat? His name is Adonis, for God's sake. He's Adonis. He said, what's the difference between an excellent fighter and a special fighter? It's his boxing IQ. The way he puts his punches together, the way he analyzes opponents, the way he adapts himself. He's brilliant in adapting and analyzing his opponent and finding his strengths and weaknesses so next fights in
Starting point is 02:14:50 toronto against this is a i don't know if he nicknamed himself this just for this fight or if it's an awesome coincidence tommy kryptonite carpensi superman versus kryptonite. 25-4-1 for him. TKO round three for Stevenson, 27-1. Next up, the Sentry Videotron in Quebec City. He fights Top Dog Thomas Williams Jr., who's 20-1 coming into this fight. He'll end up 20-4 for his career. Knockout in round four for Stevenson. More like bottom bitch. Top Dog is fucking back of the cage with you so june 3rd 2017 he fights andres for whatever the fuck andres
Starting point is 02:15:34 fanfara again at the bell center and tko win again for him in round two so yeah um this apparently wasn't much of a fight here at the end of the fight they said well who are you going to fight next adonis and he said quote i'm the greatest at 175 i don't have anybody to call out oh well so don't give a champion i'm a champ 29 and one come at me bitches that's what he's saying so um he did regret they do an interview with him in 2018 and he i don't know if he realized or his publicist realized that this shit wasn't going away yeah like it's always going to come up so he's gotta like fucking try to get out of it yeah yeah so he says quote for sure i feel remorse a lot of people think that when you go to jail life
Starting point is 02:16:21 is over but it's been 20 years uh it's been 20 years but some people still try to put me in a bad light my life doesn't work like that you can change i've changed i've worked at it a lot so they said you gotta keep doing it every day oh yeah well he says he appears at charity events um does all sorts of shit uh he uh there was a 10 year old who went missing and he donated 15 000 to the family search fund for the kid. He's like, when you find her, send her my way, please. And tell her I got a job for I'll smack her around for disappearing. You know how it is.
Starting point is 02:16:54 I'll get her for you. Don't worry about it. How is she with sodomy? Anybody so fucking psychopath? I really am mad at this guy for that shit. So he also says that he counsels young people in legal trouble helping them envision a life beyond crime he says i advise them that they can change i'm a good example the most important thing is hard work and dedication and never let people talk to you like you can't become something that's it man that's it he says
Starting point is 02:17:19 um fucking um who is this oh this is the one of the young ladies who he uh fucking oh who is this? Oh, this is one of the young ladies who he fucking, oh, this is a social worker who worked with one of the young ladies. Quote, I'm glad Stevenson has smartened up and made something of himself, but the damage he's left behind is not cool. That's not the time to say not cool. Use your fucking big words now. You pimped girls, that's not cool. Not cool?
Starting point is 02:17:43 Not cool as you drank the last beer that's not cool without telling me not cool you didn't replace the toilet paper that's not cool pimping teenagers and beating them and sodomizing them goes well beyond not cool by the way a little higher than yeah little higher on the uncool factor man that's not cool at all it's like totally uncool uh she said it ruins you socially it ruins you for relationships with men how can you put a trust in how can you put trust in a man these women have lifelong scars and some of them don't get past this yeah that's true that's why it's more than not cool right um his next fight is against badow jack the ripper so jack the Ripper. So Jack the Ripper.
Starting point is 02:18:25 He's 22-1-2. In a pre-fight interview, he says that he's been approached while in Canada by many Canadians who claim they don't like Stevenson. He said, quote, because he was a former pimp, he's not a likable guy. And this guy says, I'm not going to judge Stevenson about the pimp thing, remarking, quote, only God can judge him. Oh, boy. This fight goes all 12, and it's a draw. What? A draw.
Starting point is 02:18:52 29-1-1. So, yeah. What year is this? 2017, 18. Yeah. So it's a draw. That's not the best. 2018.
Starting point is 02:19:04 He's 29-1-1. December 1st, 2018, Decentre Videotron. He fights Alexander Gvozdik. G-V-O-Z-D-Y-K. Not enough natural vowels there. His nickname is The Nail. He's 15-1. I'm sorry, 15-0 coming in.
Starting point is 02:19:24 Okay. This fight in the 11th round um apparently this was like a mandatory defense one of those things against a guy just for the belt shit so it wasn't even a big deal here um they uh in round 11 though sh Stevenson seemed to be fading by like round 10 because before that he was 41 he is he's got he's exactly what he is he's getting old and you can see that he's he's the other guy's a busier boxer through the mid rounds and stevenson was landing better shots but then as it went older oh like uh went longer not older he's older that's what i was saying now all of a sudden the nail over here the other guy is starting to land a lot of shots on him. He's fading in the round 10. The nail gets hurt after getting hit with a left hand and gets sent into the ropes. It holds him up, basically. But the ref doesn't call a knockdown on that one. The ref's not calling knockdowns on things that are knockdowns in round 11.
Starting point is 02:20:27 In round 11, finally, the nail unloads a 10-punch completely uninterrupted flurry on Stevenson. Just fucking levels him with everything he's got. Stevenson goes down, doesn't get back up. The referee just waves off the fight. It's obvious that he's out. There's no point in even counting. So the stoppage was 2 minutes and 49 seconds of the round here. At the time, Stevens was ahead 98-92, 96-94, and 95-95 on the scorecard. So he's definitely ahead.
Starting point is 02:20:53 This guy starts celebrating. The other guy, the guy who won, starts celebrating with Teddy Atlas. But then they stop celebrating because they realize that a lot of medical personnel are rushing over to Stevenson. Oh no. More than normal. You know what I mean? They were able to get, he was able to sit back on his stool while the doctors checked over him. And after the interview, the
Starting point is 02:21:15 or whatever the fuck his name is said, this win means everything to me. I've trained my whole life for this. And tonight, all of this work was worth it. Yeah. So they go back. Stevenson starts to feel dizzy back in the dressing room. thing to me i've trained my whole life for this and tonight all of this work was worth it um yeah so they go back stevenson starts to feel dizzy back in the dressing room yeah is taken to a local hospital um here so um the this whole thing that the net by the next morning he is reported in critical condition and intensive care wow god su God, suave dick crushed him.
Starting point is 02:21:46 Fucking crushed his ass. So he the condition, it was changed from stable to critical. He got worse and he's placed in an induced coma. Oh, shit. Jesus Christ. He some Russian tabloids reported that he woke up right away, but he didn't. He required mechanical assistance to breathe. The whole deal.
Starting point is 02:22:08 The statement from Simone God, his fiancee, was, quote, pray for a miracle, she said on Twitter. Oh, boy. You're God. So that was very bad. They said that he is the doctor said that he's under sedation, required respiratory assistance, and had suffered severe brain trauma. Oh, my God. Which, I mean, Jesus Christ. For everything he did, I mean, that's fucking rough.
Starting point is 02:22:32 I wouldn't want that to happen to my head. I mean, I don't really feel bad for him, but I do feel bad for another person, though. Not nearly as bad. Are you serious? As I feel for Adonis Stevensonson uh vfx director at criterion games with ea he works for fucking ea games even in east hampshire england uh he has over 20 years in the games industry as a graphic artist i'm highly experienced with a wide variety of skills including visual effects technical art lighting outsourcing and management experience look at this guy and he doesn't pimp
Starting point is 02:23:05 women most importantly by december 22nd simone god comes out and says that he woke up he's alive he woke up he came out of it yeah and he says this is fucking amazing quote all i remember is hearing god's voice talking to me oh my goding me to relax and take my time. He told me, don't worry. Adonis. That's Adonis. Adonis.
Starting point is 02:23:33 Hi. Hello. Um, God here in case you were, I don't know if you have other voices in your head, you know, um, we,
Starting point is 02:23:42 I, we haven't talked much since the whole, you know, pimping of teenage girls thing. I, I upon that obviously i can't i can't allow that to happen it's you know can't hang out with you afterward it looks bad is all i'm saying you know how it is with the heaven and the angels and peter gets on my shit you know how it goes so anyway uh you know fight through it and uh you know onward and upward and forward and And I go six other billion people by. And then he takes off.
Starting point is 02:24:08 You were alone in the single footprint time. I was not. That's it. I wasn't there. No, it was you. You just don't remember it because you've been hitting that a lot. He said, quote, he told me, don't worry, Adonis. Everything will go well and be good.
Starting point is 02:24:22 That's what God that's that's what God talks like uh he said i saw god and he told me to relax this is what he said on 60 minutes oh i'm sorry a 60 minute interview with a with a paper okay let the time pass and it will be very good you have a body take your time the time will be good for you take your time take your time and i listened to god i listened to him i said all right god fine, fine, fine. He said I could all. What are the chances it was just his wife saying. I was going to say.
Starting point is 02:24:51 Well, he says, yeah. His next line is I could also hear my kids' voices. So I was thinking maybe that was the other God. Come on. He said I grew up without a father as he died before I was born. So I had the fight and determination inside of me to not let my kids go through the same situation as me. I couldn't let them grow up without me being there. A lot of people tell me, Adonis, you can speak two languages after coming out of a coma.
Starting point is 02:25:15 This is incredible. People still call me Superman now, but I guess for different reasons. I was told by the doctors that what I have overcome over the last two years isn't normal. I should have died. But for some reason, God gave me a second chance. God damn it. Oh, boy. According to his brother, after three weeks, he no longer required a ventilator to breathe.
Starting point is 02:25:36 He could sit up and do things. And I was lifting his arms and legs and doing shit. And he basically has to start all over again. Yeah. No more fighting. No, no, not at all. His fiance said adonis has come a long way the doctors think adonis would uh the doctors didn't think adonis would make it through because he was brain dead the night of the fight well that's not true it's not true at all not true uh he had brain damage the night of the fight it wasn't brain
Starting point is 02:26:01 dead and then they said the same thing a couple days later. So he was brain dead for five days and then God talked to him and now he's fine. Okay, sure. Fine. I'm the asshole. Never mind. The intensive care specialist
Starting point is 02:26:14 said he suffered traumatic brain injury and would have permanent damage. And he opened his eyes and his first words were, quote, I want to see the end of the fight. Really? He was still there. It was of the fight really he was still there he was it was weeks later but he was still in the fight in his brain that's the last thing he
Starting point is 02:26:29 remembered so he popped up and he goes let me see the end of the fight what happened obviously it didn't go well it's not good uh she said quote to him or i'm sorry to see him talk and walk is a shock to all not to me particularly but to the doctors it's beyond a miracle that he's alive and able to walk and talk it's because he's so strong because he's healthy mentally strong doesn't do alcohol or drugs and because all the ongoing love he's received he's coming out of it then she said quote he was still in love with me he recognized his daughter i'm so happy to see this he's been the superman he's nicknamed for the doctors have said he's not a normal human being not a normal human he's a pimp damn it they uh they also said quote uh we we had brought our daughter to the fight he held her the night before the fight so when i brought her to adonis at the
Starting point is 02:27:18 hospital he said she's gotten so big i said yes you were in a coma babe it was a baby yeah he was so in love with her and he couldn't stop giving her kisses. Seeing that, the medical team was crying. Such a beautiful blessing. He's doing great. I feel he's going to make a 100% recovery, something that's usually not seen following a traumatic brain injury. It's going to do great. He said at first, quote, I was like a baby. I couldn't walk by myself. I couldn't eat by myself. There was a lot I couldn't do. I was like a baby just born.
Starting point is 02:27:48 I couldn't do nothing. It was another world. You have to be in that world to understand it very well. So eventually it gets transferred back near his home to a hospital there where he can recover. And he said, I'm not going to lie and tell you this won't cause me problems. I'm human. When a doctor does something on your head, for sure, it to be something but i'm a positive guy and um yeah he said though
Starting point is 02:28:09 he's doing fine with money everything's good there so even though his boxing career is over he'll still be okay he said every human needs money it's impossible to say you don't need money i worry about money i'm alive now i don't want to talk or think about money. All right. That's great. Well, I guess if you're alive, you're like, who gives a shit? So, yeah, so he's not sure what to do. He said, I can't talk bad about boxing. Boxing saved me.
Starting point is 02:28:34 It saved me. I should have died, but I'm here and I'm still alive. Now, everything seems wonderful and golden for him. By June of 2019, his is suing his fiancee for control of his financial assets saying that she stole 891 000 from him oh things get real fucking go sideways real goddamn quick here um yeah shortly after the hospitalization simone god had asked the court to be appointed provisional administrator of the property of of him which they granted to her but then his mother claudette adonis objected to this and filed a court petition and all this type of shit so he's like recovering and his fiancee and mother are fighting in court unbelievable
Starting point is 02:29:18 so uh it says quote mrs god took advantage of a situation of great distress. Mrs. God. Hello. Hi, God here. Have you met the Mrs.? Yes. No. I got married. Weird, right?
Starting point is 02:29:33 I know. I never thought it would happen either. Like, I thought about it before. And I was like, you know, maybe. But then it didn't work out. And I was like, no, that's so silly. Never mind. What am I going to give her if we get divorced? Half universe like i can't do that that's crazy you know so
Starting point is 02:29:48 i can't do it but uh finally i said i met her i said she's the one please say hello to mrs say hi to mrs god for me i will i will but you know i can't bring her everywhere she's you know it's she has things to do too it's not like she's just you know, I can't bring her everywhere. She has things to do, too. It's not like she's just, you know, she's more than God's wife, everybody, really. That's the best court document of all time. This is God took advantage. And in order to extract sums of money from him is what the mother said here. She claims $891,000 was a fraudulent scheme that was set up to extract money
Starting point is 02:30:27 from her son. Uh, also the, here, the, uh, one of the lawyers here said, in addition,
Starting point is 02:30:33 we ask you to kindly cooperate in a paternity test. Make sure the kids are all his, please confirm your agreement so that necessary steps can be taken, blah, blah, blah. So, um,
Starting point is 02:30:44 wow, that's wild um anyway uh simone claims that she was ejected by the adonis family from the home she shared with him on the evening of december 6th 2019 which is like right after it happened um she left in the night taking her 13 year old or 13 month old daughter at the time she fled to toronto where she lived and worked uh before she knew uh you know adonis her versions she said that it's bullshit quote adonis was proud to be champion he was proud of our life and it's true that he invited me to the most beautiful places and most beautiful trips he had asked me to help him out help him put his affairs in order he was stressed because the overdue income tax bill as early as 2016 was huge.
Starting point is 02:31:28 And at the end, we talked about more than a million for taxes. Together, we hired people to manage the image and prepare for the post career, as well as a professional to help him manage. I could do some of it, but we needed professionals. So, yeah. Now, while this is all going on, um, the arms, I was a year after they kicked her out or the doctor said, quote, it was the other thing that stressed Adonis a lot. The fact that I can't go boxing in the United States, he had met with psychologists to get a re recommendation for the
Starting point is 02:32:01 U S department. Um, she said, so that was all going on now uh there's events jesus christ um here they basically a judge imposed an administrator to manage stevenson's property with her so an accountant paid according to simone 570 an hour that's what the accountant gets paid to do this uh basically would do what is going to work on this whole thing. There's a social workers involved here. The one said the patient confided to the social worker that he was sad about the way his mother and her family were behaving and that he felt that they wanted to destroy him and Mrs. God. So he's on his wife's side or whatever the fuck Mrs.
Starting point is 02:32:43 God side there. She's already married, obviously. So he said he was going to a what the hell? Oh, yeah, yeah, that's right there. Donna Stevenson was going to a Best Western Hotel, right? One of his lawyers was going to join him there. And he said, quote, it was Fortin. Oh, no, this is God, Ms. God talking, Simone. It was Fortin who's the lawyer who was talking to me. He told me that Adonis was ending our relationship. He sent his lawyer to dump his girlfriend. Dump his fiance, mother of his children.
Starting point is 02:33:18 I asked to speak with Adonis. I was told it would be the next morning. I wanted to hear it in his own voice, in his own words. I didn't sleep all night. And then the next day when Adonis whispered on the speaker of the phone with Mr. Fortin near him, I thought I would faint. So then the next day they threw her out of the house. That was that. So she gave up her rights and responsibilities as a guardian.
Starting point is 02:33:39 And it was Claudette Adonis who replaced her, they're saying now. They're saying that she left all of her other kids behind and all this shit here. So it's a fucking mess. He says that, quote, when I was with Simone, I was blocked. I couldn't express myself. I now I can say how I feel before I was afraid because she would put me in doubt. Now I'm free, free, free, a free man. Wow. How bad is that relationship when. Now I'm free, free, free, a free man. Wow, how bad is that relationship when you say,
Starting point is 02:34:07 I'm free, free, free, a free man. That's, wow. I no longer have anyone to tell me what to say. I feel that my mother is there for me. I feel surrounded by love with my mother and my family. Mentally, it's something that's good for me and allows me to recover. I recovered a lot. My mother really played a big part in that.
Starting point is 02:34:25 I feel better mentally. He also claims he didn't kick Simone out with his daughter. He said she ran away in the middle of the night without leaving an address. So this is going to go back and forth here. She fires back, though. She is there's a request for an interview from the newspaper, and she says, thank you for contacting me. To be honest with you, I don't believe these are Adonis Stevenson's words, oh, this is the lawyer,
Starting point is 02:34:50 or the truth considering the influence of his family and his fragile state of health this time. I have just shared my opinion and the truth of my point of view publicly on my Instagram account. I have always been transparent, and if you want to share my words i invite you to refer to my open letter to the public this is what she said in her open letter to him on the instagram account quote dearest superman yeah that's how she opens from god well we'll get to that love mrs god yeah i never in my wildest dreams thought i would need to write a letter to you so publicly in order for us to speak.
Starting point is 02:35:28 But so many things have happened. And this is the only option I have. We were always so in love and so connected. And I never thought never would have crossed my mind that there is something I would have to do today. As I sit here totally broken by what has happened, I know this is the only thing I can do. That's a lot of paragraphs just to say I'm writing you this. I have had no way to contact you for the past few months,
Starting point is 02:35:55 ever since your mother and siblings sent your attorney to steal you away in the middle of the night and have prevented all access to you from me, your trainers, and others who really care about you. He doesn't need to train right now. They took you without so much need to train right now. They took, they took you without so much as a word to me right before a court hearing. They set up to take control of your assets. I believe they did. So knowing the state of your fragile mind, hoping that, that, uh, they had you a few
Starting point is 02:36:16 days before the hearing, they could manipulate you into saying what the court needed to hear for them to get control of your estate. I thought the injury that left your mind broken was the worst thing that could happen to you, to us, but I was wrong. Your birth mother and half-brothers conspiring with the attorney to take you away from us, throwing me and your children out of our home, moving themselves in, stopping your treatments, preventing you from seeing me or your daughter,
Starting point is 02:36:40 and spreading so many lies to the press that has made this tragedy so much worse. Your little baby girl and I are missing you so much. We were already going through so much and this just feels like an even worse nightmare. My goodness, there's more here. The worst part is that I'm not there to make you get better, make sure you get better and you're not here to hold me and tell me everything
Starting point is 02:37:02 will be okay. I'm so worried about you. I'm so worried that it will be too late to repair the damage being done to you now. I'm hearing that you're not in therapy anymore, and that makes me so terrified for us after this is resolved. You must demand to your family that you put you in therapy while they have control over you. Please make sure you tell this to anyone who will listen to you, my love.
Starting point is 02:37:23 You must stay in your therapy. I'm grieving right now, too, because it took me a year to realize that the man that went into the ring isn't here anymore, and that's no longer our reality. I wasn't feeling positive, or I was feeling positive, for our future together, but now, even that future has been taken away from us. I was happy knowing that at least we still had you here, and that I could hold you, and that you didn't die. I've lost my soulmate, my best friend, because a mother who you were never close to and who abandoned you as a child has taken advantage of a system that says because we are not married, I cannot keep caring for you in the way that I have been. A system that allows an estranged parent and siblings who have nothing to their own nothing to their name to claim what you
Starting point is 02:38:05 have given your life to provide for your wife and children they should control because we have not yet wed before your injury i am hurting and cannot stop crying every day because in order to get control of your money they had to take you away from us i don't care that they kicked me and your child out of our home and move themselves in i don't you've sure mentioned a lot i don't i care that we can't wake up with you in the house with us i don't you've sure mentioned a lot i don't i care that we can't wake up with you in the house with us i don't care that they are uh assassinating my character asking for a paternity test i care that our daughter cries herself to sleep asking where her daddy is i'm willing to let them keep everything if they will just give you uh give
Starting point is 02:38:40 you back to us well i think he probably wants the, too. I can never forget the man you were. A great partner, lover, father, fighter, and a champion. You're Superman, babe. She's screaming for the fences. You're Superman, babe. So I'll keep fighting for you because I know this is what you would want. They may be able to manipulate you now because of your brain injury, but deep down, I know you still the same superman you always were and not this pudding brain gentleman you've turned into i know you can fight this and come back to us please adonis fight fight as hard as you can
Starting point is 02:39:14 um let's see the night of the boxing fight tragedy what a weird way to put it boxing fight tragedy you had your last clear moment before your mind memories and thoughts became not your own in that moment you told me you were going to become the wbc light heavyweight champion again but that this would be your last fight because you wanted to be okay for our daughter adonia he named his daughter adonia i'm calling that a junior yeah it's just a letter jesus he's wow we'll name her adonis but yeah yeah the a is right next to the s on the keyboard that's right there man um she said you said one last time i wish i could have stopped you i wish i could go back to that night and stop you from ever getting in that ring i bet jesus christ um jesus where's the end of this holy shit she goes on for a while man
Starting point is 02:40:03 wow dude it's like five more fucking pages i'm not reading all this this is too much i forgot that it was this much why does she have so much to say oh my god your mom's a bitch i'm better come live with me what the fuck i'll just i just saw a random paragraph that's like 12 paragraphs later i heard you were seen looking dirty and smelly in the subway station. I wish I could take care of you properly, my love. They are abusing the power they have. They stole to destroy what you risked your life for in the ring. It's very shameful.
Starting point is 02:40:33 I understand now why you kept limited contact with them. So, yeah, that's what that is all about. So it's anyway, that was going all through the courts. all about so it's anyway that was going all through the courts um the um the his promoter there michelle or whatever he is yvonne michelle he said despite the financial off losses that he suffered he's still well off he said adonis is not on the street he still has a lot of money but not enough for the rest of his life in the past year there's been significant leakage of money but the gap is now closed yeah that's a significant leakage. Yeah, I think that was $891,000 worth of leakage. As of January 6th, 2021, he was almost back to full health and in good spirits.
Starting point is 02:41:13 He did an interview that day saying, I'm just going step by step at the moment trying to get back to full health. He said, I'm much better now than I was. My family are helping to look after me, my mother in particular. It's really important for me that I've got an amazing family that have had my back throughout. People say if you have a good family, that's all that matters. When you reach the low that I reach, it's important to be surrounded by love. He said the improvements he's made is huge. And he says I can express better what I feel.
Starting point is 02:41:43 I'm progressing even uh even if for rehabilitation everything is blocked at the moments of COVID um so yeah he said that he's always been a little bit suspicious um here and he said that uh he still was he made like a weird reference to um the the fighter he fought I don't know if he was saying it was like a cheating thing or what, but he was made like a weird, weird cryptic reference. But it might just be his brain damage. So he said, I want to help people who have concussion problems. I realized that if they don't have someone to help them, it's easy for people who are vulnerable to be taken advantage of. I've been vulnerable.
Starting point is 02:42:20 I'm not kidding. I was vulnerable. I felt betrayed. Simone God. I'm not going to lie. I loved her very much. I loved her kidding. I was vulnerable. I felt betrayed. Simone God, I'm not going to lie. I loved her very much. I loved her like that can't be, but she abused my trust. She's a good manipulator. There's a lot of things she has done. The situation's very hard for me. I thought it was for life. Me and her, wherever I was, she was there. I had no barrier to take her anywhere. You know, when you love the person and you know, they're never going to do anything to you. It hurts. Never going to do anything to you. It
Starting point is 02:42:49 hurts. Okay. That doesn't make any sense. She said, uh, he said, um, it really hurts. She hurt me, but I don't want to start hurling insults at the media. I'll just let justice settle that when you've had a concussion like that, you realize family is the lifeblood. Anyone with issues like that, if they get a chance to see their family, go for it. It's very important. So, yeah, he said, boxing educated me. Boxing is about discipline, and I learned to be disciplined. If you have a kid who's on the street and he saw me or another boxer, he can say to himself, I can do this.
Starting point is 02:43:19 I can change my life. So in May of this year, here, I guess he's by himself now and Simone God is with the daughter Adonia in Dubai where she is trying to be an influencer of some kind her name is Simone God which is a great name for any kind of influencer but
Starting point is 02:43:38 she's in Dubai for some reason doing that so they said Adonis here has made progress he passes the psychological aptitude tests he can regain his autonomy if he can pass these tests and manages manage his own affairs very soon they said he was on it he was even able to buy a mercedes and drive it so he does that and he said the trust created to manage its finances has done its job well so he's got more money coming in now and um
Starting point is 02:44:06 yeah he says that uh that's kind of how it goes here he's doing well he said that nothing can uh he said he doesn't understand oh his mother died that's what it was so and he said that apparently he's saying that there was a some former lover of simone is in dubai and that's why he's, she's there. I don't fucking know. Can't get enough. Slam your head in a little brick wall as hard as you fucking can. And you can, it's called the, the Adonis Stevenson experience.
Starting point is 02:44:33 I believe coming to a theme park near you, you can really see what it's like, really see what it's like to be in a coma for a while and have your family and your fucking spouse fight with each other. It's going to be great. That everybody is Adonis Stevensonson wowza what a story and a hell of a we see we did it a little bit different this time we had the beginning and we said let's fucking let's wait till we find out let's wait till the world finds out why should we know any better so that's adonis stevenson if you like that tell the world about it, goddammit. Get on Apple Podcasts.
Starting point is 02:45:05 Get on whatever goddamn app platform you're listening on. Give us five stars. It does help out the show a lot. It doesn't matter what you say, but say something nice because it's helpful. That also, head over to ShutUpAndGiveMeMurder.com immediately. You can get everything there. You can get merchandise, tickets to live shows. Live show in August in Sacramento, California at the Ace of Spades.
Starting point is 02:45:27 Get your tickets to that. It's probably going to be the last crime and sports live show ever. So coming up, say you were there for it. Yeah, that's it.
