Hello everybody and welcome back to crime in sports.
Yay!
Yay indeed, Jimmy.
Yay indeed.
My name is James Petrigal.
I'm my co-host.
I'm Jimmy Wiseman.
Thank you, folks, so much for joining us again on another, just a good time that we like to call crime and sports.
It's been a lot of fun lately.
I hope you enjoyed Verpy butt and her...
her brutal ways.
Jesus Christ.
A chick named butt having that kind of...
You think she was just picked on to the point where she couldn't take it anymore and snapped?
It sounds descriptive, verpy.
Yeah, verpy butt.
So anyway, that was crazy.
Hope you listened to that last week.
This week, though, we have a wild story for you.
Again, a guy that we've mentioned before in somebody else's story because he was involved.
It's a real meta-crime in sports meets crime in sports.
Like, yeah.
When they play at the same time, they oftentimes touch each other.
It's like a movie that's about the making of a movie.
That's what's going on.
I'll talk to you all about that.
First though.
Two people wrote a book.
Yeah.
First, though, head over to shut up and give me murder.com.
Get all your merchandise, new stuff up all the time.
And especially, though, get your tickets for small town murder live shows.
We are going to be next week in October 16th in San Jose, California.
October 17th in Sacramento.
So get your tickets right now for those.
Those are going to be different stories too.
So you can go to both shows and you will see different shows.
Also, Terrytown in New York there, that is almost sold out November 13th.
It might be sold out by now because there's only a few tickets left.
And then Boston the next night, November 14th, that's actually Medford.
So you don't even have to mess with the Boston traffic.
Look at how we're thinking for you.
We're trying to take care of everybody here.
So get in there and do that.
That's at the Chevalier.
It's a very nice theater too.
So get in there.
Shut up and give me murder.com.
You certainly want Patreon.
That we know.
Patreon.com slash crime in sports.
That is where you get all the bonus material, and there's a lot of it.
All you have to be is $5 a month or above.
It's a cup of coffee, everybody.
Yeah, yeah.
Or you can get almost 400 back bonus episodes immediately upon subscription,
and then new ones every other week,
one crime in sports and one small town murder.
And you get them all this week for,
crime in sports.
We're calling the episode
when pilots fail.
And it's about these small planes
around a lot of sporting
events that like end up crashing into
sporting events and it's happened
so many times.
Fails consistently.
Yeah, this is going to be like the hot air
balloon disaster episode. It's a similar
type of vibe here.
For small town murder, it's that season.
We are going to get into scary movies
and we're going to talk about horror
movies and scary movies and thrillers.
and our favorites and our least favorites and historically ones and all that kind of good shit.
So it's going to be a lot of fun.
Patreon.com slash crime in sports is where you get all that.
And that's not enough.
No.
Five bucks a month.
And you think that would be plenty.
It's a cup of coffee.
We're going to give you all this stuff.
No, no, no, no.
You also get everything we put out.
Crime and Sports, small town murder.
And your stupid opinions all add free with your Patreon as well.
You can't beat that, everybody.
And you get a shout out at the end of the show, too.
I'm going to spend some time on that.
So it's all we can do, patreon.com slash crime in sports, just like the name of the show here.
That said, let's do it, everybody.
Let's go.
Asshole of the week, here he is.
A guy who just really just blew it over and over again.
Some guys have success and some guys overachieve in sports and then fuck it out.
This is a guy who just really blew it.
He just blew it.
I fucked it all up.
Glendon Alexander.
Now, Glendon.
Might sound familiar because we've mentioned him before on this show.
And when we get to it, you're going to fucking laugh your ass off at what it was.
Glendon, Donald Alexander.
We know his father, or Donnell, it's D-O-N-N-E-L.
So Donald, Donnell, could go either way on that one.
Nickname is the Big Chief, which is Robert Parrish's chief.
In basketball, you can't be Chief because there's already Chief.
There's two of them already.
Yeah. Cuckoo's Nest and Robert Pair. Exactly. Yeah. In basketball, the parish is chief. And it's crazy that you're chief. So anyway, later on, I'll have a wife. I'll have a son. We'll talk about that. Now, a little bit about him. He's born February 28, 1978. Here, he is from the Dallas area. That's where he grew up in Dallas. He went to Newman High School in Carrollton, Texas, which is a, I think a Dallas suburb there.
Um, he is a good basketball player. He's, you know, six foot far, six foot five and a guard. And, um, has really good range. Shutes the long ball really well, which is, uh, obviously sought after in today's game. Um, high school, he really, really was something. Um, he's, he scored 36-137 points, which was a Texas class 5A record at the time. Yeah. So I mean, Texas is a big,
state that really loves sports.
So if you're setting any kind of record in baseball, basketball, football, in Texas, you're
fucking doing something.
Texas is like Florida or California, huge states where they play a shitload of sports and it's all year
round.
In his senior year, he averaged 34 points and seven and a half rebounds a game.
34 points and as a guard.
As a shooting guard.
Yeah, seven and a half.
Doing great.
So just athletically, clearly leaps and bounds above his competition here.
Superior.
Yep, 1996 McDonald's All-American as well, which is a huge same McDonald's All-American class as Kobe Bryant.
Kobe Bryant.
He's playing the same game as Kobe there.
A parade All-American, a Gatorade Texas Boys basketball player of the year, 95-96.
Wow.
Oh, so.
And that's Kobe.
Kobe, there's Mike Bibby.
There's a bunch of people.
I don't know the exact year.
That was a great year.
I don't know if he was there.
95, 96 was Bibby already at U of A by then?
Yeah, this is the high school class going in.
So those are, if you look at all the McDonald's, all Americans from the 90s,
they're all a bunch of stars, future NBA stars.
Stacked.
So impressive.
So he has everything that could possibly.
be there to have a very successful career and life if he felt like it.
During high school, I guess he had a little knee injury that limited his athleticism a little bit actually.
Oh.
But apparently he's such a good shooter and score or a score that it doesn't matter.
Doesn't matter.
I mean, Jesus Christ, fucking, you think Vinny Del Negros could move?
No, he was a good shooter.
You know what I mean?
It wasn't moving or wasn't jumping over anybody, put it that way.
so
and fucking Del Curry
stood out there
and waited for the ball
you know
Steph's down there
that was his job
he knew his place
he was a Dennis Scott
you see him
soaring over people
Duncan
no stand out there
wait for a shot
oh yeah
in the wrong places
to be Duncan too
yeah
he has some childbear
and hips
he was thick yeah
he was exactly
that's what I'm saying
he had a nice
hourglass figure
that
uh
Dennis Scott
so he's gonna shoot
some threes
now
a little bit
apparently there's not a lot about his childhood before high school or I don't really know what happened to him here.
But apparently, basically, what keeps getting repeated in every press account of him later on is that his basketball skill really gave him a shitload of benefit of the doubt.
Oh.
So anything that he did academically that wasn't so great, anything that he did kind of off the court that was a little skill.
He's such a great player.
And not for nothing, it's Texas, where they go, I don't give a shit if he's passing.
He's on the court.
That's more important there than academics.
Who won the state championship he can play.
See Johnny Mansell.
You know what I mean?
They don't care.
What kind of an asshole you are if you can play.
And it's just the way it is.
So anyway, that's all we know is benefit of the doubt is the word that comes up
a lot of the phrase that comes up quite a bit here,
which might be the name of the show, we'll find out.
So October 3rd, 1995, he commits to go to college here.
Apparently, he said that he has already signed to play with the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Oh, sweet.
Which is a, they were in the mid-90s.
They were a powerhouse.
They won a national championship in, what, 94?
Williams.
Yeah, they were nasty, and it's under Nolan.
and Richardson, who's their legendary coach at the time.
And he said he hasn't even visited Arkansas,
but he's already committed to sign with them.
They don't know it.
Hasn't even checked it out.
Yeah.
Yeah, doesn't even know here.
This is in his junior year, said, quote,
I'm looking for a teacher, and I believe that teacher is coach Richardson.
Okay, those are the right words to say.
I like his pro set and style of offense and defense that lets you use your talents.
It's not one of these Bobby Knight offenses where it's all about the play.
It's the actually NBA is more about letting guys play.
And a lot of college programs used to be completely not about letting guys play.
The whole point was don't think out there.
If you get the ball here, it means you pass to him and that's it.
There's no other option.
Just keep moving the ball.
Yeah, there's no art to it.
There's no jazz to it.
It's all very regimented.
Make opportunities.
Yeah, the pros aren't like that because you can't tell guys making more than you
not to try to get past that guy and dunk when that's how they make money.
You know what I mean?
So he said, I'm impressed with what I've heard about academics at Arkansas.
I plan to major in political science.
Oh, yeah, he's going to be.
Is that right?
He's going to be really, really, uh, lofty-ass goals.
Oh, he's going to do it.
Yeah, he's very interested.
Guys going to play basketball at Arkansas is very interested in their academics.
Political science majors, a lot of them.
That's why.
That's why he didn't go to Duke.
or Notre Dame or one of the schools that you actually have to be not a moron also to play there.
So he went to Arkansas, which is sure they give a fuck about that.
So they said he's met the test score requirements to be eligible to sign with him.
And he will visit the campus here, whatever soon here.
They said the Razorbacks, though, said they have no scholarship seniors on this roster
and have a scholarship to offer him to offer another guy.
only because another guy didn't meet academic eligibility.
So now they have an extra scholarship.
So November 11th, 1995, he signs there and, you know, he's ready to go.
Nolan Richardson says most guys his size are four words, but he's a big guard built like Oscar Robinson was back in his college days.
Oscar Robertson.
Oscar Robertson, who would I say?
Yeah, Robinson.
Did I say Robinson?
Oh, because I'm looking at...
Like for a minute.
Well, yeah, because also, never mind.
I was looking at something else also, so that's my fault here.
Yeah, built like Oscar Robertson, the Big O, who they averaged a triple double for a whole season.
And, I mean, he's a bad motherfucker, Hall of Famer, obviously, played for Milwaukee.
Now, he said that he's 6'5-215.215.
So he's not a skinny little guy.
He's a good-sized guard here.
He is the all-time scoring leader in Texas high school history.
He only started his senior year 416 points shy of the record.
So he obliterated the record here.
So anyway, they said Glendon's probably going to break the state record,
and that's pretty impressive for a state as big as Texas.
We think he's the best player in Texas.
That's Nolan Richardson.
Future Stars Magazine rated him number one in Texas.
and the 14th best recruit nationally.
So the 14th best basketball player in high school
in the entire country.
Not just guard.
Not just guard.
And this is before,
this is when euros were rare.
So this is all the talent that's going into the NBA
is all high school basketball players,
not some dude from Greece or some, you know,
Chinese guy or something.
These are all, you know, half the draft now is a bunch of guys
you can't even pronounce their fucking names,
whereas this was different back then.
So basketball is becoming a lot like hockey that way where you're like some Eastern European.
I don't know what that is, that name.
I can't unprounce it.
But wait till you see how fat he is.
Yeah, he's pretty fat.
Definitely fat.
Somehow still gets it done, but fat as fuck.
Wait until you see how fat and clumsy is.
You're going to be blown away by the lack of athleticism.
It's going to be wild, really.
And they're going to take him with the third pick.
It's going to happen.
It's crazy.
So Alexander said Oklahoma State, Cincinnati, LSU, and Missouri were his other choices, but he only visited Arkansas.
And he attended this visit with his parents and is expected to make an official visit at the university's expense during the season here, during a senior season.
But he's already committed.
So, yeah, they said, Richardson said Alexander will be the only signy during this early period for them.
It's the only guy they were interested in here.
here's a big article from his senior year
oil bowl shootout
Alexander steals show as West wins
so
and this is the all-American thing
and he said the day before the game
Glennon Alexander said
I'm not all-American for nothing
oh that's right
and he was killing it he scored 31 points
and pulled down 16 rebounds
and had five assists
incredible so this is against the other
all-stars so that's
That's big shit.
The coach of the team said the difference in the game was Glendon.
When you're a McDonald's All-American, you're a McDonald's All-American.
Right.
Yeah. Process that.
You're a guy.
You're a guy.
When you're a jet, you're a jet all the way.
Holy fuck.
So when I put a smaller guy on him, he'd take him low and just shoot over him.
When I put a bigger guy on him, he'd take him outside and shoot the three.
and apparently he nailed three-threes that game and was killing it.
They said Gordon didn't shoot the ball as well as he had in practice,
but obviously he's one heck of a player.
Those shots he was missing tonight all week long.
He's been draining them every time.
Wow.
He said after the long layoff, this is Glendon,
after the long halftime layoff with the three-point and slam dunk contests,
I started missing those shots.
I knew my shot wasn't going,
so I opened the floor up for everyone else.
So you got some assists out of that.
So now, 1996, August 22nd,
Glendon, the headline is to battle NCAA's latest ruling.
Apparently, he's ruled ineligible
by the NCAA's academic clearinghouse
to play basketball for Arkansas.
Because he's dumb?
Apparently his test scores aren't where they need to be,
even though he's very concerned.
about academics, as we know.
Extremely concerned.
Political science,
a major.
Well, obviously, yeah.
We should ask him about, you know,
problems in the Middle East.
He'd probably have a better answer for it than this.
They just didn't ask them the right questions.
That's the problem.
So he's hired a lawyer here to explore his options.
He earned his prep all American honors here.
They talk about the clearinghouse maintains that some courses Alexander took and made bees in
at Newman High School were not core curriculum courses, though Newman officials maintained and still
maintained that they are core curriculum courses.
So he was taking like horseshit and calling it classes.
Political science.
Yeah, exactly.
Meanwhile, he was taken, like, you know, how to tie your shoes with bunny ears.
Pottery.
Yeah, while making pottery.
Right.
So they said that his family's considering.
legal action.
Oh.
Yeah, that's, they said legal action.
Legal action.
Well, because they didn't tell him what courses to take?
Apparently, he's saying it's not true and he wants to fight it, so he'll be eligible
here.
They also said he could go to junior college and return after that.
They said he could take the SAT or A-C-T in October to be eligible, but how do he's
going to do on that test, probably not very well.
I think he's prepared.
Yeah.
I guess he met the NCAA's score requirements,
which is measured by either an ACT or SAT.
However, if he posted a higher test score and a retake,
it could offset in the clearinghouse's sliding scale
his core curriculum that's now deemed short.
So if he got a better score on these tests,
he could do better.
Yeah.
Okay.
And so that's what they're doing here.
That's what they're trying to figure out.
They find he is,
eligible to play in late September.
Terrific.
So he's eligible to play, and he said, it was a struggle.
You know what, let's give him in their own words for this whole thing here.
I like this a lot.
What the fuck?
He's really going to thank everyone and the heavens above here.
In their own words, quote, first and foremost, I want to thank God for blessing me
through this whole ordeal.
God above.
That's right.
It was a struggle.
Every day I woke up, he told me to carry on and do this.
I also want to thank my mother and father
for supporting me through this
in the state of Arkansas
and the people in the state have taken me on
as one of their own.
I'm just proud to be a razor back now.
There it is.
That's it.
Here we go.
So he's ready to fucking go.
And they said,
his representative said,
we're very thankful to the NCAA
for doing this
and fucking whatever you want to do.
He said,
I didn't feel like I deserve
to be a junior college player.
I'm not,
that kind of person taking anything, not taking anything away from the players at junior
college, but I'm in a whole different situation. I have two parents in a loving family.
I'm like, hold on, wait, Jimmy, because this is, there is a left hook that is just a hiding.
I'm not juke home material. I got a mom and a dad. I'm not a dirt bag. It's so funny.
He is. Not some piece of shit with no dad. Later on, too, he is real, like, uppity about shit. And I don't
mean that in like a traditional way.
Take it easy. I mean in a fucking way
where he thinks he's
better than everybody else.
Looks down. He looks down on people.
He thinks he's up here. He said
that he is this.
I'm from a loving family. Later on he'll be like
I'm not from the city. I'm from the burbs.
Like he's like, don't think I'm fucking city
trash. It's real weird, dude.
What is that?
It's fucking strange.
I got two loving parents.
Okay.
Really? Okay.
Yeah. So it's interesting. So anyway, he's going to be able to play this season and that's life. So wow, this is, who is this? Oh, I think this is his representative that said, I'm of the opinion that the lawyers in this case started popping off to the media, a phenomenon which we see more and more in the last 15 years. Inflamatory statements would have taken place. Accusatory statements would have been in response. And the red hot lawyer rhetoric would have pushed the party so far they would have become.
polarized and that would have eliminated, in my opinion, fairness and reason to prevail.
Wow, Jesus Christ.
His dad, Rupert here, Lennon, he's got Rupert.
Rupert is his dad?
Yeah, we said that earlier.
Rupert and Louise are his mom and dad.
He said, we believe in our kids and we believe in right from wrong.
I think his basketball will speak for itself.
We didn't raise him to be no junior college player.
No, I'm just kidding.
He didn't say that.
We don't raise Jukos.
No Jukos.
I think his basketball will speak for itself, but to have the opportunity for an education is the important thing.
So we're sending him to the University of Arkansas, one of the top academic colleges, obviously, in the world.
Smartest morons in the country.
Wow. Jesus Christ. He never, he knew the, he know to, he know to control the situation, never let anyone control it for you.
Yeah. That's a good way to put it here. And Rupert said, back home, they call him full serve.
He's got another nickname.
Big Chief and full service.
He'll suck you and fuck you.
He doesn't care.
Full service.
Reach around and all.
It's everything.
Yeah, finger your asshole.
He's got it all lined up.
I think Arkansas and the Razorback fans are really going to enjoy watching full service at work.
Full service.
Don't call your son full service, please.
No.
So 96-97 Razorbacks, they're on the down swing a bit.
18 and 14 this year.
Oh.
That is not great there at all.
I don't think they made it to the tournament.
No, they didn't.
Shit.
Derek Hood, Tareke Wallace.
This is not a good...
I'm looking at this shit.
They have one guy here.
Derek Hood played in the NBA for a minute.
That's it.
Derek Hood?
I don't even know that name.
Pat Bradley, Landis Williams.
It sounds like a movie roster, like of a made-up team.
Just a bunch of made-up players.
Lance Keeling, Chris Walker.
I can picture.
Lance Keeling's a blonde guy.
He's from like, you know, he's from like California.
He plays by the beach.
You know what I mean?
Surf swimming between games.
Him and Landis have a competition for the starting spot.
Yeah, starting fucking power forward or some shit here.
Right.
That's interesting here.
Now, this year he plays in 32 games, starts 14.
He's a freshman.
21.6 minutes a game, which is a lot for a freshman.
He's playing.
9.6 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.3 assists.
So, yeah.
a freshman. You've got to get yourself into the whole mix.
97, 98, 24, and 9.
Much better this year, obviously.
Now, this year, same roster pretty much,
though, they just must have matured and rather
have more seniors on the team,
which don't exist now, by the way.
No, they leave. Nobody has seniors on a team.
If they are, they're not good basketball players.
No. Otherwise, they would have left.
They ride the bench while the sophomores show them out of play.
Yeah. Some guy,
like are staying, like in football,
it's way more lucrative to play in college
than the NFL if you're not a top draft pick.
You know, if you're a fifth round draft pick,
you're going to make 600 grand a year in the NFL.
There's plenty of guys in college football
making $2 million bucks who won't even be a...
They won't even be a top draft pick.
So it's money to be made there.
Now, November 26, 97,
there's a big article here, just about a game
that says Alexander Leads Hogs.
So he's doing something.
He had 15 points that year.
and they are that game and they won.
So, yeah, doing well here.
They beat Oral Roberts.
Yeah.
You know what Oral,
you know what all those players have to do
when they lose over at Oral Roberts.
Play Anil Stevens.
Play Anil Stevens.
What is that from?
What is that from?
That's from something.
Anal Stevens.
Annal Stevens and Oral Roberts.
Yeah, what is that from?
Oh, I don't know.
It's from a fucking movie or a TV show.
It's so funny.
It's so funny.
No, it's from a movie or TV show.
Please, somebody remembers so this doesn't drive me crazy.
Well, don't type anal Stevens in the circuit.
I don't think I would have done that.
Why did I do that?
It's all Jada Stevens, James.
And boy, oh, boy, does she have a lot of websites?
Her nickname is anal?
Imagine if your nickname, wow, she must be really good at it.
Because for your nickname to be the thing you do.
Yeah, Jada Stevens evidently takes it a lot in the ass.
It's like being called Mr. Baseball, you know, or something like that.
And it thankfully safe search is on.
And I still got all of that.
There was Johnny football and there's anal Stevens.
There's two different types of things here.
So anyway, it doesn't that.
Oral Roberts, is that like anal Johnson was the joke?
Annal Johnson.
Okay, yeah.
Yeah.
I knew there was a joke about that.
I don't know where it's...
I wonder, what is that?
Definitely.
It's from a movie or a TV.
I remember it.
It's a...
It made me smile when you said it anyway.
So, either way.
It's funny.
Anal what was it?
Johnson.
Antle Johnson, yeah.
Orrell Roberts and Anal Johnson.
So Glendon about this game said,
I had my mind made up to shoot it.
But when I made the move,
there were two people open under the basket,
and the defender had his back to him.
I threw it up high to Big J and Big J.
and Big Jay finished.
He's very half.
Finished all over Oral Roberts.
It's perfect.
Big Jay.
It took his big joint and finished.
Yeah.
Now, the thing is, after the season, this season, he only plays in seven games and starts a zero.
Or no, because, yeah, that's mid-season 97, 98.
He ends up transferring.
He wants out.
Really?
Yes.
Why?
Nolan Richardson said that apparently he's left the team.
over a dissatisfaction with his play.
He only started, he played in seven games and started zero.
So he was pissed off about that.
I think he thought he was a starter this year.
He's not a starter and he wants out of here.
And Nolan Richardson said,
Glennon hasn't been to practice in the last two days.
I talked to him Friday and he told me he wasn't happy with the way he was playing.
He said he didn't feel good about his performance.
Since he hasn't practiced, he isn't a member of our team right now.
He's still in school taking final exams for fall, the university said.
So he's got some chick taking his exams for fall is what that sounds like here.
Nolan Ryan later described here, or Nolan Ryan, Nolan Richardson.
Nolan and an R.
Damn it.
Nolan Richardson.
That'll get you there easy.
Yeah.
Totally.
Later described him as, quote, a troublesome person, a habitual liar.
Which is the perfect read on him, as a matter of fact.
Over the course of his life, he is a fucking liar.
habitual fucking liar.
So, yeah, he leaves.
The headline is,
Richardson bids farewell to prima donna big chief.
Good riddance, huh?
Good riddance, Nolan Richardson said.
That's literally, all right.
He said, we don't have any stars on this team.
The guy who wanted to be the star is gone.
And if he feels he needs 30 minutes and needs 30 shots,
then he needs to go somewhere where he can do that.
Suck 30 dicks.
Suck 30 dicks.
He's transferring to Oral Roberts.
We can suck all the dicks he wants.
30 dicks, take 30 shots.
No one cares.
That's fucking funny.
This show's already so much fun.
This is so great.
I'm having a good time here.
He said, yeah, when I received a call telling me underscore.
Oh, this is somebody else.
Okay.
Anyway, January 2nd, 1998, he's transferring to OSU, Oklahoma State University here.
apparently, yeah, he's going to transfer
and, I mean, it's closer to Dallas, I guess,
but Arkansas is pretty close to there too.
Everybody said the decision to transfer came out of nowhere.
Just out of nowhere.
He said, Glendon said, that it, quote,
ran deeper than playing time.
I was productive when I played.
I have nothing against the coaches,
but I love my former Arkansas teammates.
I just felt it would be better for me if I left.
That's it.
He said the atmosphere at Oklahoma State, the players and coach Eddie Sutton convinced me to make this decision.
I had planned to visit some of the other schools, but I canceled those plans.
Why do you stop being so...
What is that?
Go to all your...
This is why you didn't like where you were, because you didn't fucking go anywhere else.
Right.
And he does it again.
He's like, I was going to go look at other shit, but I said, fuck that.
I'm going to make a rash decision right now and just...
But I got it.
I got it.
Yep.
He said, I'm making the announcement now.
so the other schools will stop pursuing me
and I can enjoy the rest of the holidays
before enrolling at OSU.
He said that the decisive factor
in selecting OSU was,
I think Coach Sutton can help me develop
where I can realize my dream of playing
at the next level.
So the NBA.
So he said,
I just couldn't see it being right
for me at the time two years ago,
even though they had come to him two years ago.
So apparently he had an arthroscopic
knee surgery, but he didn't miss any time or anything like that. And yeah, so he is ready to go.
He says he's shot five. He's been working out and everything like that. He says, I still think I can be a
better shooter than I've been. He says during the holidays, he shot 500 times during a four-hour workout
on Christmas Day. That's how dedicated he is. 500 shots. And one of the coaches says he makes a lot of
things happen. He has a knack for scoring. He'll be a great addition for our team.
Makes a smooth transition.
A headline says the coach said he's a very hard worker on the court.
He's very humble.
He certainly recognizes basketball is a team game and we have four starters returning.
In no way has he come in and presented any type of arrogant attitude.
So trying to just go against the narrative that's out on him, which is he's a prima donna.
And even he said, quote, once December comes around, I'll be a little bit more enthused.
Right now I'm just waiting my turn and doing what coach.
asks of me and trying to fit into the program as best I can.
That's all it is.
But he's ready to do this and he's very excited.
He said program-wise, it's been a big difference.
There are two different styles, but the competition's probably the same.
Yeah, and everybody on the team, too, there's all sorts of quotes about he's going to help out a lot.
He's quicker than he was a year ago.
He dropped 10 pounds.
He says, though, I'm still kind of running.
But when December comes around, and it's my time, I'll be ready to step to the plate.
Ready to be a cowboy.
That's right.
Speaking of a step into the plate in Oral Roberts, right under that is an ad for special with this coupon.
The sales, Jimmy.
Yeah?
One hour, $10 off.
Half hour, $5 off at the Oriental massage therapy, where they have pressure point massage, light, medium, firm.
Yeah.
Please call for an appointment, open seven days a week.
Hurry, special end soon.
Change pressure on the fly.
Either that or you can head on down to Dongs.
What?
Dongs.
Why did the massage place screw up naming their place?
At least wangs, they could have done something there.
Dongs in Tulsa since 1946.
It's a fire bar.
Oh, center fire bar.
Oh, this is a shooting place.
free bases rings mounting and boar sighting with purchase of any stock or any in stock.
Oh, it's a gun shop.
It's a gun shop.
And then there's also a place to shoot shit here.
Yeah.
So there you go.
Jesus.
December 12th, so you can shoot one way or the other.
You're fine.
Two places.
Yeah.
At don't?
Dongs?
Dongs has guns?
Head on down to Dongs for your guns, everybody.
Down on Admiral Place between Harvard and Yale.
Yes.
Tulsa has the balls to have.
have Harvard and Yale streets in their fucking place.
A block over from Stanford?
Yeah, exactly.
Oh, fuck.
So December 12th, 1998, Nightmare Ends is the Tulsa World headline because Alexander's
going to make his OSU debut tonight.
The nightmare is over.
Now, Glendon himself said, I don't think I was progressing as a basketball player.
I realized with the skills that I had, I would have a chance.
to play at the next level.
I didn't think Arkansas, that at Arkansas,
my dream would be fulfilled.
Oh.
And Glendon's father, Rupert,
who, by the way, is in his 14th season
as an assistant basketball coach at Newman Smith.
I don't know what the fuck that is,
but he said,
great players love to be taught.
Sometimes when you don't challenge people like that
because they want to be the best they can be,
they get a little bored.
So they're saying,
your kid's only bad in class because he's so smart, he's bored.
he's saying that trope.
Like when you're that talented,
you need to be challenged
and if you're not,
you'll get bored.
Like, he's too exceptional of a student.
He's failing because he's bored.
Yeah.
He said, right now,
he's getting the best teaching of his life.
He's learning the game off.
He's learning the game off the court too.
And, yeah, he said,
Glendon said,
I think right now I'm 20 times better
than I was as a freshman or a sophomore.
20 times.
So he was averaging 10 points a game, so he should be averaging 200 points a game now, which is very impressive.
That would seem, yeah, that's how the math were.
That would be really impressive if he could pull that off.
I think he'd be drafted very high.
Yeah.
He said, it was very tough sitting on the bench, even watching the guys on television.
I love to play this game.
I love to play every day.
Saturday, I'm finally getting that uniform and I'm getting to play.
My nightmare will be over.
He said, I don't think we'll have any major problems.
I just think we need the extra spark off the bench or in the starting lineup that someone can give you more energy in your game,
a player who can make key plays down the stretch or make key stops.
And that's what I'm going to try to bring to this ball club.
I'm going to be the straw that stirs the drink is what he said, which is a bad sign.
So his coach, though, Sutton says he fits in very well.
We all like Linden.
He's been a welcome addition and he's been accepted by his teammates.
He's a hard worker, kind of a gym rat type player, the kind of a kid.
coaches like. That's right.
Yeah, there we go. So he's going
on there. He'll be very, very happy.
And he said that his father's happy with
it. He's happy with it. Here he is.
98, 99, Oklahoma State.
23 and 11 that year.
So not terrible, not
wonderful. He
makes his debut with
11 second half points, which is great
too. Comes off the bench.
and yeah, the coach said,
it seemed to me he might be a little nervous,
which is very normal,
but he's really going to help our ball club
because it gives us that other player
that we can rotate to the perimeter.
Okay.
That's it.
So he said he's ready to do this,
and he said Tuesday versus Houston Baptist.
Oh, boy.
I think you kick the shit out of that.
I've never heard of Houston Baptist University.
Have you?
No.
I've never, I did not know they were on anybody's schedule.
So it sounds like something that would be in Texas.
Yeah, sounds like they'd give Oral Roberts a real challenge there.
Real run for their money.
He said, I'll be in sync.
I just had to get the first game out of the way.
Now I rushed some shots.
Now I'm ready to go, though.
So there he is, having a debut.
They say he has an instant impact with the Cowboys.
He's a quality player.
And his coach said, the thing that surprised me is he's a better defender than I thought he might be.
Really?
He said he's doing great.
He's really on top of it.
Another guard, Adrian Peterson.
Wait a second.
No.
Hold on.
It can't be back then.
No, it can't be.
What year?
No.
No.
Where did Adrian Peterson go to school?
Adrian Peterson, didn't he go to Oklahoma?
OSU?
This is OSU.
Yeah.
Wait.
Was it OSU or was it OU?
I don't remember now.
Now it's all I could see him.
He went to OU?
I think so.
Let me make sure.
Yeah. I thought so too. I could see the red helmet on him, but maybe not.
Yeah. College. What was that?
College. Oklahoma. Oklahoma. So there was a... Wow. Almost the same time.
There's another Adrian Peterson.
There's another Adrian Peterson playing guard for the Oklahoma State.
Spelled the same?
Adrian Peterson. Same exact thing. Yeah. That's weird as fuck.
Yeah.
Anyway, he said it makes you a whole lot better because you have to play everybody out there honest.
You have to play everybody straight up when you have to.
have another score like him. It loosens up the perimeter. But not in 2004, right? No, no, no, this is
early. I thought this was too early for Adrian Peterson. It's too early. It's just very odd that
that's his name and I knew he was, had Oklahoma in him. It was just strange. So, anyway, they're,
doing well and everybody's real excited and everything's going to work out wonderfully here.
Perfect, yeah. Fort Worth Star-Teagram does a big article against him, or against him, not against
about him talking about what a great defender he is.
And, you know, he's just such a good defender way better than we thought and everything's
going great.
And it's just, it couldn't be better for him right now.
It's really, he's really crushing it.
I think we could probably say grace right now, maybe.
That's it.
I think it's probably grace.
I mean, it'll get a little bit, but still, you know, he said out of high school, I
wanted to be able to play somewhere where I have the, the green light to play with, you
up to my skills.
Play as I want.
Yeah.
He said, I was looking for someone
who could polish up the skills
I had in high school
and who could make me a player on both ends,
not just on the offensive end.
That's why I'm still,
that's why I'm in Stillwater.
Coach Sutton loves the way I play defense.
Also, he loves my oral Roberts, big time.
He says,
coach knows my offense will come,
but I put so much more effort
into getting better on the defensive end
and trying to get more rebounds.
and he's ready to go.
He said, to me, I've gotten all the individual awards
a basketball player could ever dream of.
Now it's about winning and getting better
on and off the court.
Everything is great.
He thinks he's gotten all the awards.
Well, yeah, in high school,
he got all the big awards
and all the accolades.
He just hasn't gotten them in college yet.
But, you know, they couldn't be more,
there's all these articles about how thrilled they are with him
and how this couldn't be a better fit
and how everything's wonderful.
But in the tournament, it doesn't go well.
They lose apparently very quickly to Auburn.
Oh, shit.
And everybody's very upset about that here.
I guess Peterson did well.
Adrian Peterson said, I'm proud of the way we played.
We lost with some questionable calls.
Looks like, where is he here?
Where's our guy here?
Did he play at all?
Oh, yeah, there he is.
He had, Jesus Christ,
three for four, not good, one for seven from the field that game.
Ooh.
In an 81.74 loss.
He missed seven shots.
Yeah.
So that could have made a difference hitting two, three more of those shots could have been the game.
So that's not great.
That year, he plays 28 games, starts 15, 24 and a half minutes a game, so playing more,
9.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, pretty much the same stats as his freshman year.
1.3 assists, almost exact same stats as his freshman year.
Even the steals, he has less steals than he did.
So as great as his defense is, he only has half a steal a game.
What's that about?
May 8, 1999, he is arrested.
Uh-oh.
Here we go.
No big deal.
Nothing big.
He starts out small like a lot of our guys here.
For two outstanding traffic warrants, which are driving under suspension and having no insurance.
That's very common.
So he gets arrested for that.
Pretty common.
Nothing big.
I mean, not a big deal.
Doesn't show bad character.
No.
Shows forgetfulness.
Forgetfulness or might not have the cash at the moment.
There's a lot of reasons for it.
Lack of ability.
Whatever.
Maybe a little bit of hubris of, I don't need that.
A little bit of, I'm the guy from the team, so it's fine as I drive around.
No one cares.
99, 2000, the Oklahoma State team goes 27 and 7 that year, which ain't too fucking
shabby at all.
Desmond Mason's on the team that year.
He'll play in the NBA later on.
Otherwise, a lot of guys who aren't.
Doug Gottlieb,
Zach Cazell,
Rodney Souter,
S-O-O-T-E-R,
and another these guys, yeah,
don't know any of these guys.
Sutter.
December 20th,
1999,
Alexander the Great Lifts OSU
is the Daily
Oklahoman's headline.
That's what we're calling it.
Alexander the Great says he was in a zone on offense,
and Oklahoma State was in a zone on defense,
and UNLV was sort of an ozone.
In sort of an ozone.
That's a stupid way to open that.
Jesus Christ.
So anyway, they ended up opening up a 20-point lead.
It was a nationally televised game,
and he scored 10 of his 14 points in the span of one minute and 58 seconds here
and an early run in the second half
and kind of really just sealed the game for him.
Sure.
And Alexander said,
quote, in the back of my mind,
it was like, score, score, score.
The first half, it was like I was there,
but I wasn't.
But in the second half,
my teammates got me the ball
and I was feeling it.
I knew every shot I put up
had a chance to go in.
Really feeling it.
And Eddie Sutton said,
some players can't come off the bench
and play like he does.
He's a really valuable player.
He can give you instant offense.
When he gets to feeling it,
You try to get the ball in his hands, getting the feeling.
They put something in his hands.
Yeah.
He likes defense too.
He said that I'm beginning to like defense, quote unquote.
Yeah.
When you play defense here, you get to play longer.
Oh, there it is.
It's a reward.
Yeah.
If you're a defensive liability, they take you out.
Yeah.
I'm beginning to like it to be able to snuff somebody or come up with a big defensive stop individually or helping out your,
teammates, snuff them.
And then I film it and I call it a snuff film.
Fun.
Get to snuff someone.
Wow.
Is that what they, I don't, I don't think I've ever heard it called that.
I never, snuff someone?
That's really aggressive.
He said in the past, I was like, well, you score and I come right back and score on you.
But now I don't like it when I give up points.
I get mad at myself.
Yeah, that's basketball you just figured out.
Certainly.
All the best players in history played.
Pretty fucking good defense.
That's kind of how it works.
Yeah, and they hate when you score on them.
They really don't like it.
You think Jordan liked it when people scored on him?
He hated when he did anything.
You score points and they don't.
They don't.
That's the idea of basketball.
Why can't I have money and hair and he have nothing?
That's nothing.
That's basketball.
Yeah.
So March of 2000, he's got a knee injury.
Here we go.
Not good.
Sprain left knee during a loss to Oklahoma.
He was given an MRI and everything, but he's good.
He's just strained.
He said it's a day-to-day injury is how that goes there.
So he's the third leading scorer on the team.
And the injury was on his good knee, not the one he had arthroscopic surgery on before his freshman year.
So here's the article where he's very upset if you think he's from the city.
He was asked if he treats tournament games like he was back on the streets of Dallas.
Like, is it the same for you?
Like a street, you know, like a playground game or is it more, whatever.
And he said, first of all, I'm not from the streets.
I'm from the burbs.
I'm from a two-parent household.
First of all.
I am not juke.
Yeah, I'm not Jew.
That was so, I get a basketball player in college going.
I'm not your stereotype that you think I am.
I'm not, I didn't go out and play every night in the projects while my mom worked till 11 o'clock.
any of that shit. I'm from a two-parent home. I'm from
the burbs. I don't need to be your fucking...
But the Juko thing just made no sense of how those things
go together.
Evidently, that's who
goes there. If you have both your parents, you'd be more talented,
motherfucker. Is that what he's telling people?
I don't know. You'd be able to jump
higher if your dad didn't leave when you were two.
I'm not a scumbag.
I got two parents. Wow.
Weird. It's very weird.
He grew up a big fan of star Larry Johnson,
who's from Dallas.
And they asked him as Larry Johnson from the streets?
Great question.
And he said, yeah, he's from the streets.
Yeah, I ain't LJ.
He doesn't pay his child support.
Yeah, I ain't LJ.
I mean.
So here we go.
He's now, it's not going well for the team either.
Because now he's got two wary knees and it's not good here.
By the way, in other unrelated news,
Yeah.
Here.
Just this headline is wonderful.
French skater attacked in hotel.
A French, a French pairs skater, so one of those in pairs, was attacked in a hotel by a man who cut him on the forearm with a razor blade and then fled down the corridor.
He attacked a man.
Just attacked a dude came up and attacked a guy.
Yeah.
They said, we're unable to say if the attack is random or premeditated or the act of a crazy person.
I just like that.
They said the attack unsettled many of the skaters because it's only a few years after Nancy Kerrigan.
So any attack on a skater, they're all freaked out.
So Oklahoma State here, his senior year, plays in 34 games, only starts five.
Oh.
So he only has 34 starts in his entire college career.
Whoa.
24 minutes a game, 11.7 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 0.9 assists.
not even a full assist a game.
Wow.
This is not great.
No.
For draft status.
Imagine if he only had one parent.
Oh, Mike.
Well, he'd be a mess then.
He would have been in Juko.
He would have been a mess.
Should have went to Orel Roberts.
Now, June 28, 2000 is the NBA draft here.
Number one pick in the 2000 NBA draft, Jimmy.
What do you got?
Oh, boy.
It's a weak draft.
2000?
Yes.
Good player goes first overall, but a weak draft.
Yeah, shit.
First, 2000.
I can't think of somebody that was drafted in 2000.
What if I get?
I'll give you a college.
Yeah.
Cincinnati.
No, don't do that.
That's not going to help.
I thought you were like, that's going to be too easy then.
Don't give it away is what I thought you were going for.
You're like, that's not going to help.
Was it, was it Tim?
No, not Tim Duncan.
No.
No, no.
He was like 95.
96, I think, isn't he came out, right? 97.
Was it somebody for the Spurs?
No.
No.
No, somebody for the Clippers.
It is someone for the New Jersey Nets, actually.
Oh, Jesus Christ, that's not going to help at all.
Two New Jersey played in Cincinnati.
Cincinnati.
That's the college.
A bear cat.
He's a bear cat.
Yeah, yeah.
Was it Van Exalt?
No, no, years before.
Oh, is it Kenny?
No.
Is it Kenny Anderson?
No, way, way.
years before. I was like
1989. Kenny Anderson.
God damn. Was he, Kenny Anderson
came in an...
Kenny Anderson played in like
fucking Georgia or some Georgia Tech maybe
some shit like that. He went to...
He was a fuck game from Cincinnati.
Anthony... No, he's Missouri. Anthony Peeler.
Definitely wasn't him.
His Nick Van Exel was a Cincinnati guy.
Yeah, but he played years before that.
Kenyon Martin.
Kenyon Martin. Wow.
When you said Ken, I was like,
eh? I thought it was coming out.
God damn.
Yeah, Kmart there. He plays 15 years
in the league, so you can't...
He was first overall?
First overall.
This is not a...
In terms of big names, it's not a strong draft.
Number two overall, Stromile Swift.
Oh, boy.
Who did not have a great career at all?
He went to the Trailblazers?
He went to Vancouver at first, which was a disaster also.
He did not do 8.4 points a game in his career.
It's not great.
Next up, Darius Miles, right out of high school.
That's number three?
I mean to the Clippers playing seven years and 10.1 points a game.
Marcus Fizer to the Bulls after that.
Six years in the league.
Number five overall is fucking Mike Miller.
So remember white guy from Florida, not Cabs?
Orlando.
Orlando.
I think he went to the Caves later.
I don't even remember him ever being like a starter.
You know what I mean?
He played for 17 years in the league because he's like a left-hand.
Handed relief pitcher.
You can come in and bang a three off late in the game.
Oh, God.
And boy, could he?
He'll stay in the league.
He spoiled a lot of nights for people.
Especially back then when you could have specialists now that doesn't exist really.
But DeMarne Johnson after that, another Cincinnati guy, only seven years.
Chris Mim after that.
Remember Chris Mim?
Big White Center?
Terrible.
Eight years in the league.
Then Jamal Crawford played for 20 years.
Great pick for Cleveland, number eight.
Kenyon dueling
Archeon dueling
Jesus Christ
This is bad
Courtney Alexander
Three years in the league
Mateen Cleaves
Remember from Michigan State
With his big
He had like a big mouth
That's all I remember
I don't remember him at all
Yeah like a big giant
Like a mouth that was two sizes
Two fucking twice the size
That his head should be
Jason Collier
Turcalu is in that draft
From overseas
He played 15 years
Desmond Mason from Oklahoma State
His teammate who
played 10 years. Quentin Richardson, number 18 for the Clippers,
Speedy Claxton from Hofstra for Christ's sake.
Jesus.
Morris Peterson, Mo Pete, there for Michigan State.
He played 11 years. Deshawn Stevenson played 13 years.
Everybody else, it's a terrible draft. It really is.
Other guys, Eddie House is in this draft to, again, not a good player at all.
Eddie House suck.
Play eight? Eight years?
He played Eddie House 11 years in the league, and he was not a good player.
good player.
No.
He had some,
he had a couple of games
that were memorable
for people that kept his
career going.
He was a fun player.
Yeah.
I liked Eddie House,
but he wasn't a great player.
I don't think he started much.
He came off the bench as shit low.
He's a bench guy.
Average of 17.3 minutes a game
in his whole career.
So that's a total bench guy.
Michael Red.
I mean,
not a lot of great players here.
So they said,
that's crazy.
Yeah.
So he's not drafted.
No.
So what he's trying to do.
Not drafted amongst that.
Amongst that.
One of the worst draft classes in a long time.
Oh, boy.
Like, look at like the 92-93 draft.
Then look at that.
Look at that shit.
It's a mess.
So he's trying to see if he might be eligible to play another semester because he got,
he couldn't play that one semester where he was off.
She's like, maybe I can get that semester back and play the second half of the season
and into the tournament and fucking.
get my draft status up here.
It's as if he doesn't realize that having one parent is so much better for you.
It really makes you want it more.
That's the thing.
Makes you want it a lot more.
His coach said, I think he has a chance at it.
How good?
I don't know.
It'll be up to the NCAA.
But he said, I have asked a compliance guy, and he said he doesn't really have a feel for it.
He said, he's optimistic.
He said, they tell me I have a great chance.
So the coach said
They said who
When he said my inside sources
Which they laughed
Like I don't know
Whatever
He said that
His case is with the big 12 now
But if it's rejected
He'll take it all the way
To the NCAA
He said
It'll be like Florida
We'll need a recount
Because this is a 2000 election joke
By the way
Is that the Chad joke
That's the hanging chads
And all that shit
Yeah
He said
Nobody has to worry about
my classwork. I just don't do it. So no one worries about it at all, including me. I don't
worry about it. I don't worry about it at all. February 9th, 2001, denied. Wow. Denied. He will not
be able to come back and play. Get out. That's it. He's done. And that's it and that's all.
They said that he was asking for some relief. And they said, fuck yourself, Glendon. Don't think so.
How about that? That's it. He's found ineligible. So February 21st.
2001. He's arrested instead.
Is that right? Yeah, why not?
It's for forgery in the second degree.
That's not good.
So he is charged with forgery here.
And where is this? In Payne County District Court here, according to records, he's
accused of taking an OSU scholarship check from a freshman basketball player, Ivan
McFarlane, and using a forged signature and stolen driver's license to cash the check.
Wow.
He fucking stole a dude's scholarship check and cashed it, a guy on his own fucking team.
Forged it.
On his own fucking team.
That is gross.
So he was charged.
Apparently this happened on April 9th of last year.
So it's been...
Okay, so it's been a while.
Yeah, it's been going on.
They finally figured it out.
According to affidavits, McFarlane said his OSU scholarship check, $70 cash and his Texas driver's license,
were stolen from his unlocked dorm room on March 16th.
Unbelievable.
Wow.
Court affidavits accused Alexander of using the stolen license to forge his signature
and cashed the $1,28.53 check.
That this kid probably needed to...
Fuck, yeah, he needed it.
For his fucking, you know, food and things of that nature.
He's going to have to pay it back.
Yeah.
No, shit.
Six days later, according to court record,
Alexander admitted he stole the cash check and license.
He said he used the license to cash to check, obviously.
Wow.
So September 18, 2001, a warrant is issued for him because he has not come back to court.
He was due in court for an arrangement on an arraignment on forgery charges, and he just did not show up.
So they issued a bench warrant for him.
They said they have not arrested him.
and they don't know where he is, basically.
So efforts to reach him have failed.
So, yeah, he had a personal recognizance bond.
Just show up, please.
Now it's $7,500 if he gets caught.
He's got to pay to get out.
Now he's in trouble.
Yeah.
So October 2001, he pleads guilty to these turn out to be federal charges, I guess,
because he pleads guilty to federal charges of forgery here.
Oh.
December 10, 2001.
more arrests, issuance of a bad check.
Yeah.
He's arrested for.
Looks like a couple of them here.
Two assuances of bad checks?
Yeah, which apparently that happened.
And then remember how he pled guilty?
Yeah.
He apparently is supposed to show up for sentencing and just doesn't bother.
Oh, my God.
So he's going to be on the run.
Does he know how that works?
I don't think he does.
I don't think he does.
He's also wanted for grand theft in the first.
degree here as well on a new charge of that oh boy yeah um march 15th 2002 grand theft in the third
degree they want him for that as well um he is also out on a fugitive warrant and uh he's not going
well um march 16th 2002 another fugitive warrant here um so he was arrested in tampa for a
counterfeit check that's the other forgery or the bad check returned to oklahoma on a related
forgery warrant, then fled the courthouse appearance in Stillwater and was then taken into federal
custody.
That's when he pled to federal charges.
He ran away from the courthouse like Ted Bundy.
That's wild.
Yeah.
And he's fucking with Florida and Oklahoma where they don't stop.
Well, no.
Well, if you kill somebody, they're real, they get pissy about that.
So he faces federal fraud charges in Texas and for forgery charges in Payne County.
Apparently, Alexander led Payne County deputies and Stillwater Police on a 15-minute chase Tuesday when he fled from the sheriff's department on foot after learning they were aware he was wanted on federal charges.
They were getting him for something else, and then they were like, oh, we found a federal warrant.
He was like, bye.
And so fucking took off.
I give him credit for, you know what, a lot of guys, when they're done playing for a major, you know,
major professional sport or a major college program.
They get out of shape.
They get a little chubby.
Their cardio goes away.
He had a 15-minute foot race.
That's pretty good.
Still run it out.
Can you run for 15 minutes away from somebody?
15 minutes.
No.
That's a long time.
Yeah.
Not like a run.
No.
Like, he's, I mean, running from cops.
15 minutes, you'd be like, all right.
I think I'm.
I think we're good here.
So, wow.
He was in people.
Payne County for a court appearance on forgery charges, which he had missed in September and had a warrant issued.
Also missed an appearance in Dallas on federal charges.
He was indicted last July by a Texas grand jury for stealing, forging, and depositing other checks that he did.
So this is a thing that he does.
He pleaded guilty to the federal charges but didn't appear for his sentencing on January 11th.
The Payne County undersheriff, Kenneth Willerton, said that Alexander,
had been arrested on forgery charges in Tampa, and he sent a deputy to retrieve Alexander.
He said they were, there was supposed to be a hold on him from the U.S. Marshal's office,
but they failed to notify us, so he bonded out on Friday.
That's what he said.
Then Alexander returned to the sheriff's department Tuesday at the sheriff's request.
He was charged in Payne County District Court.
This is in April 2001 with second.
Oh, that's from the check.
Never mind that.
He pleaded not guilty to that charge.
And so they're still working on that.
The federal charges stemmed from activity in July and August 2000, which the indictment alleges he stole checks from the account of a Carrollton, a Carrollton, Texas man.
He's accused of forging checks in the federal case for $46,500.
That's a lot.
Oh, boy.
That is a lot of fortune.
He's made more money stealing than he has in basketball.
Oh, for sure.
He's made zero in basketball, so I would say so.
Then July 4th, 2002, he's charged with theft of.
Of?
Of Derek Bell's shit.
Remember Derek Bell's boat getting broken into?
Yeah.
This is the fucking guy who did it.
Full circle, everybody.
Oh, my God.
We've rarely had, like, one crime in sports meet another crime in sports athlete.
Criminal athlete.
Perpetrating on another criminal athlete.
It's really
That is something, man.
Talk about meta.
That is some shit.
So he stole
allegedly stole
$150,000 in cash and jewelry
from Derek Bell.
Broke into his boat
while it was docked near Bradenden
near the Pirates
Spring Training facility.
He stole the World Series ring
Derek Bell received with the Toronto
Blue Jays.
Holy shit.
And a ring he received
the NLC, NL Champion
ring from the Mets there.
Both rings were recovered.
When you win the World Series,
do you get the
league ring also, or do you only get one
ring? That I'm not sure
about, but I think you only
get the World Series ring, I would imagine.
You only want that one. I only want that.
I worked for the Diamondbacks when they won
the World Series. I remember, like, the employees
could all, you could buy a ring.
Right, a replica. Yeah, or you could
buy, you could buy, like a, you couldn't buy, like,
player ring, but you could buy, like, the executive one.
I mean, it costs $10,000 or some crazy shit, but you could buy that if you wanted to.
But, yeah, I'm not sure about championship rings, though, and how that one worked.
Because who fucking cares about those?
Yeah.
Yeah, right.
Nobody gives a fuck about those.
If it doesn't have a player's name on it, who gives a shit?
Yeah, who cares?
Plus, if you're a player, it's like, oh, that means you lost something else.
So it's like, this is my loser ring, my second place rings.
I don't have the second place ring.
Yeah.
If you're a competitor, you don't want that.
No.
That sucks.
It's a shit ring.
Yeah.
That ring sucks.
So, yeah, federal authorities in Texas charged him.
Okay, so there's also the federal, the case about his OSU teammates check.
Yeah.
The guy he stole $46,500 from was a dentist.
Stole a bunch of shit from Derek Bell and using the Social Security number of a California adult entertainment executive, a porn maker.
to wire approximately $1.5 million in his own account.
To himself.
To himself.
What an idiot.
What does he think is going to happen?
What the fuck are you doing?
So this is a, he has built a big, shit wall that's going to come tumbling down, man.
It's a bad wall.
There's no way to go with this.
No way to go.
especially when you're committing these kind of crimes.
Yeah.
It's real weird because there's two types of crimes.
There's the crime that if you get away with it right now, you're probably good.
You know what I mean?
If you steal a Snickers bar from a Walgreens and you get outside and nobody chases you, you're probably fine.
It's probably your Snickers now.
They're not going to come six months from now, knock on your door and say, we caught you stealing this.
You know what I mean?
It's not going to happen.
You're away, you're away.
It's like when you're a teenager, if you can run away from the cops and get a,
away from them, it's over.
Yeah.
That's it.
They give up.
There's no, unless it was blood involved.
Yeah, unless there's, but if they're just chasing you because you're out late or you're
somewhere you shouldn't have been, they'll leave you alone after a minute.
But they're not looking you up.
This is a whole, when you start these bank things, it's shit that when you do it, you
walk away.
And you think you, you know, you get away with it for that moment.
Right.
But once they look back on the paperwork, it's all proven right to you.
It's a terrible strategy for any crime.
$1.5 million is not, ah, he got away.
They don't stop.
Well, I mean, it's just easy to have evidence.
They have an electronic and paper trail.
They're like, where'd this money go to this guy's account?
Well, he's the one who stole it, but the cuffs are.
It's so easy.
Yeah, it's so fucking stupid.
It just seems to be paying his rent with it.
That's weird.
Yeah, it's the dumbest fucking thing ever.
So he's ended up being, he's convicted of federal bank and wire fraud charges.
He is sentenced to federal prison here, not sure his exact sentence, but he'll serve more than three years at the Federal Correction Institution, which is a low in Seagaville, which is a low security facility southeast of Dallas.
Because it's all just money shit, so he's not a violent criminal.
Yeah, he's not hurting anybody technically.
He's certainly hurting people, but we're recovering it.
So, as part of his sentencing, he was ordered.
to pay $425,107 in restitution.
Shit that was gone that he spent.
It was gone.
He already ran through that much.
Yeah.
Think about it.
He's just living it up.
He's living.
He's like, well, I should have been drafting the NBA.
I'll just live like I did, like I was.
I'm owed.
I'm owed this.
This is what I've expected since a young age.
Wow.
It's very hard for a guy who got the benefit of the doubt for everything was the biggest
basketball star in the state of
fucking Texas,
went to two high profile
programs, and now they're like, I don't know,
get a job, motherfucker, or whatever.
And had two parents.
Don't forget that. He's from the burbs.
And such a big deal. And now they're like,
I don't know, get a job.
Just go get a job, make 50 grand a year
and fucking be anonymous.
Talk in, bitch.
Just be a fucking
guy who's a little bit tall
in the office. That's all you are now.
Be the guy that shows up every day
and the new guy always says,
man, you should have played basketball.
Yeah, do you play ball, man?
Yeah, go find a, find a company that has a team that plays another company and they need a ringer.
You know what I mean?
Like every sitcom fucking trope, do that.
Be the guy that everybody comes in and goes, why are you here?
Yeah, what the hell, man?
Why don't you just go play basketball?
That's real hard from going from that to that.
That's a totally different world.
Women don't fuck you when you are just the guy in the office who's kind of told.
You might get fucked a little bit, but you're not getting knee-deep in college girls like you were before.
It's a different story.
So as of later on, there's a hearing in 2011, and he had only paid $7,230 of that.
So not a lot.
It's got a ways to go.
2003, Halloween.
OSU refutes Alexander's allegations.
Oh.
Okay.
OSU officials say they have found nothing of substance after investigating.
allegations made by Glendon Alexander.
Alexander who said payments were made to him
while he was a player at OSU, probably,
first made claims in a letter to several media outlets
from prison in June.
His allegations resurfaced in the story published Wednesday
at Sports Illustrated.com.
He, they were talking about all of his crimes.
The sysstory.com story said that NCAA investigator
met with Alexander last week and his gathering documentation to further evaluate the allegations.
It's hard to say, I got allegations, Alexander, and accusations all in the same sentence.
They're all really hard to say together.
They said, when Glendon set out this press conference or sent out this press release from prison months ago,
we called the NCAA in the Big 12 and we said we'd be pleased to interact to go through any of the allegations.
That's OSU's athletic director.
and they said they found no substance here at all.
OSU may be forced to repay more than $250,000 as a penalty for having him in uniform during the 99 and 2000 tournaments.
Oh.
According to the story, Alexander claims, this is if his claims are true.
Yeah.
Alexander claims Alexander and his family, both of his parents, his two-parent home, received payments.
from high school through college on an almost monthly basis from a one-time Dallas sports agent. That's undoubtedly true. That's sure that's true because every player back then got money from an agent because how else were you going to live? They didn't give you shit. The story said loans totaled more than $75,000 with an assumption they'd be repaid when Alexander played in the NBA, but he never made it to the NBA, which is the risk you run as an agent, don't have money like that. You hope that. You hope that.
You dole out money for 10 players.
One or two of them is a huge player, and you'll make your money back eventually.
So he said, we never knew anything about him receiving any money, the coach said.
This is OSU's coach Eddie Sutton.
I was never contacted by Sports Illustrated.
That's what bothers me, that they ran a story without asking him.
When approached this summer about Alexander's letter from prison, OSU officials said
Alexander was a habitual liar with questionable character.
as well.
Sutton said,
I haven't read the story,
but why is he in jail?
He did a lot of crazy stuff.
He was one of those kids we failed.
Go back and talk to any of his teammates
or assistant athletic director
for student affairs,
Marilyn Middlebrook.
Everyone tried to work with him.
He had problems.
It's sad.
I would say so.
Yeah.
So, yeah, they're looking into the problems
and we will see here.
Now, in the S-I.
story, OSU compliance
director Rick Allen said OSU
officials required Alexander
to take a polygraph
test before his senior year to determine
whether he forged signatures on university
checks he later tried to cash.
He is that much of a liar.
Huge liar who's shitting right where he eats too.
Right. Don't fuck around here.
Going to get himself in so much trouble.
Yeah, that is the one thing you can't do
in professional sports. If you go in the locker room,
Remember that guy who stole Derek Cheater's glove?
Right.
The guy in the Yankees.
He was a, he was not a marginal player.
He was a top prospect and a really fucking good player.
He was gone.
Gone. Never to be seen again.
You can't be doing that.
No, if no one will have you in the locker room, you're gone.
You're done. You can't be trusted.
You gotta act like you've been here before, man.
Yeah.
They have to be able to leave their shit there and not think that one of their teammates is going to steal it.
This isn't the why.
It's the fucking a major college program.
This isn't the L.A. Fitness.
You know?
Just wandering to the locker room and pick up people's jerseys, jock straps, shoes.
Are you going to try to clone me?
Why are you taking my DNA, man, knock it off?
You're going to frame me for murder?
What's happening right now?
Be a teammate, bro.
Come on.
So they made him take a polygraph test before his senior year, and he later did that.
Okay, Alan described the findings as, quote, basically inconclusive.
So he's a good liar.
Yeah.
Alexander was allowed to remain on the team.
And Alan said that the questions pertain solely to criminal matters, not NCAA issues.
Here, Alexander also claimed several schools paid him cash, including $6,500 from one big 12 coach during a campus visit and other payments from Pact 10 and SEC schools.
So this is like the Nick Nulte movie, which that's what it was in the 90s, Blue Chips.
That's what it was in the 80s and 90s.
It's Shaq, right?
Shaq, Penny.
Yeah, right.
Some white guy.
I don't know.
Fuck yeah.
Penny was the other guy.
It was Shaq and Penny.
That's how that movie is how Shaq convinced Orlando to get Penny.
To get him.
Wow.
Because he played with him and Penny said, well, I knew I was playing with Shaq and he was like the star of the movie.
He said, so I just tried to make him look good when they were playing because they just basically played pickup games and filmed them.
Yeah.
And, you know, got the good shots they needed.
And so Penny was just lobbing it to Shaq and Shaq, fuck, I mean, who doesn't want that?
So he said, we need that guy is who we need.
That guy.
He knows how to throw me.
Whatever I want and we will never win a championship.
Nope.
And then I'll leave him there and go somewhere else for more money.
And go get them all with Kobe.
That's right.
So a lawyer says that the NCAA won't investigate these allegations.
Oh.
You say he's too much of a liar.
So that's that.
Wow.
Yep.
He also, they said a violation that is over, that is over four years.
years old, they don't pursue, but there are
three exceptions to that
rule. The NCAA can
investigate allegations of violations
older than that if a player involved is
still on campus, if the violations
are still occurring, or if
the violations are a, quote, blatant
disregard for the rules.
If they're really fucking our season
out. Basically, if we feel like it,
that makes them to, if we feel
like squeeze in a team, we can.
If we want to, then we don't have to.
Alexander, they talked
about said that
he told
SI that Boosters
gave him $10,000
that he didn't
to 10 classes
like we fucking said
he didn't
and that he sold
his game tickets
for a profit
he's even scalping
his fucking
family tickets
That's gross
What a scumbag
players do that
All the time
By the way
And the NFL
They're Super Bowl tickets
Yeah
Because every player
gets a chance
They're able to
buy two Super Bowl tickets
Those are all going out
They all buy
them
and sell them
for a fortune
Every single one of those fucking players do that.
They don't go to the game.
Why would you?
Yeah.
Who are they going to go there and watch people that kick the shit out of them play?
Right.
Hey, I remember when those guys were kicking our ass in week 12, they're not going to want to see that.
The players that aren't involved in the game can get the opportunity.
You can buy tickets in the NFL.
I believe that's the rule is that all the players are allowed to buy.
They're allowed to buy two tickets.
So you can, they'll, they have like a, you know, a lot to sell them.
And so, you know, for families or whatever.
And instead they sell.
Wouldn't that be weird?
as the guy that brokers all those sales
to look down in that section and go,
ha!
Not a single NFL player in there.
But it's okay to give them away
or to sell them, but not for a profit.
That's where you're not allowed to make a profit.
So that's...
But they just say,
if anybody asks you,
you got these for face value.
There you go.
I mean, I'm sure they don't sell them to strangers.
They probably sell them to friends.
Right.
So, anyway, October 11, 2005,
he's released from prison.
and he's very contrite here.
He said that he has to work and he knows he has to work to regain the trust of others.
He's done that.
It's embarrassing.
Yep.
And he said that, you know, my pro, that if his pro dreams don't materialize, I think that train has long left.
There's not even a trail of smoke in the air anymore.
That fucking train is in the next town by now.
You only say that because you didn't have two parents.
That's true. That is true. My parents were not together.
That's a point. That's a point.
You know, and you're right, you're right, Jimmy.
Yeah.
So he, this is what he said, even if I can't play in the NBA, out of your fucking mind.
They didn't want you when you were fresh.
We think they want you now. We've been in prison for five fucking years.
Perhaps my dreams are over.
Maybe.
Hey, guess what?
They are.
Never fucking plays.
He says he's going to plan to coach then.
I would go with since your dreams are over.
Since it's over, not if it's over.
Now, October 10, 2008, guess what he's arrested for?
Fucking fraud.
He is just a liar from the get-go.
It's incredible.
Possession of identifying information.
So someone's ID, false use and possession of identifying information.
more, all fraud charges here.
What does he think he has a Phoenix comic?
Yeah, yeah, really.
I don't know, is he a gambling addict or not, this guy?
Yeah.
The ones we know, that's their problem.
He's either a co-ceteridge gambling addict.
We know how many of those do we know.
So many frauds.
So many fraud.
Or they just say they're comedians when they don't even have,
they can't even put a fucking decent 10 minutes together.
It is amazing.
There's a guy claiming to have.
voted Arizona's funniest comic four years running.
Huh?
Nobody knows of the publication that he's claiming.
Nobody's seen any fucking nomination process.
He's just fraudulently claiming this bullshit.
So funny.
You can just do that.
People go on, and he must have won something if he's saying it.
Like, if he's bold enough with his lies.
I'm going to change my IG bio to Arizona's most successful comedian.
It doesn't matter whether I am or not.
At this point, it doesn't matter.
Who cares?
Twelve years running, you fucks.
Say you've been to Mars.
Who gives a fuck?
What's the difference at this point?
Astronaut, comedian, philanthropist.
They make wild-ass claims anymore, comedians online.
It's so fucking gross.
They kind of have to just to get it.
There's so many of them.
They're all going, hey, over here, over here, over here.
I'm the best, are you?
I'm the best.
Arizona's best comedian, four years running, is doing a trivia night.
Yeah. Fucking wild, man.
So he is, I mean, just a problem here, even after that.
He, between then in 2012, he's arrested at least four more times.
Oh, boy.
He did a three-month stintenton, Denton County Jail in 2012.
A lot of probation violations, failure to check in with probation officers.
Rules do not apply to this man.
No, if he doesn't want to, he just won't.
Yeah.
Even rules are, even rules of like money that's in other people's bank accounts doesn't
belong to you.
Even that rule.
Right.
Basic shit.
Bad rule.
Yeah.
And showing up for court hearings doesn't really do that.
Doesn't maintain regular employment.
Doesn't pay longstanding court cost debt.
And doesn't make monthly restitution payments either.
So, yeah, he's a fuck up here.
Documents from 2011 from a garnishment here.
in Northern Dallas U.S. District Court show Alexander made only the $7,200 dent and his $425,000
restitution thing from nine years ago.
That's a problem.
He says he's been unable to make any payments since that hearing.
Just can't do it.
Don't have the money.
My hearing broke me.
Christ.
He should have taken the million and a half he stole and paid off some fucking some of that.
Who steals money and doesn't clear debt?
No, that's where he's got to.
all that money. He stole hundreds of thousands
from that guy. His
father, again, now his father's
going to stick up for him here. His father's
going for the Golden Gilreith Award. I'll tell you that right now.
Let's go, Rupert. He is. He is replacing, usually
it's a mother who does this because most of our guys,
they haven't seen their fathers since they were two
or their fathers are also in prison, so we don't hear.
Their one parent home. Yeah, this
though. He's got it all.
Rupert said, Glendon did
wrong, but there's no way,
no way he can pay the government back.
They will always have their foot on his throat.
Simple as that.
Yeah.
He shouldn't have stole half a million dollars.
Get on your throat, buddy.
In 2010, but somewhere in there, he formed an ABCD Basketball Academy.
What is that?
We'll find out.
Hold on to that for a minute because that'll come up later.
Again.
All four.
I mean, it's...
ABCD.
The rule is three.
Nope.
There was already an ABC camp.
He's like, I've got to be ABC camp.
at least D-E-F then.
Come on, man.
It's like somebody being,
I want to be AAA plumbing,
so I'm in the front of the phone book back in the day.
Well,
there's already one of those?
A-A-A-A-A-A-Pumbing.
How about that?
That's better.
What if I go two A's because that gets me in front of that guy?
Oh, wait, no.
Then all the,
it's just alcoholics who will call me.
That's not a good thing.
They're going to stop reading after the second A and call me.
I don't want to do that.
What about A-plus?
That exists, too, really.
Shit, damn it.
So he forms that.
May 1st, 2012,
he is arrested for contempt of child support order.
Oh.
He's not paying the government.
He won't even pay for his own fucking kid.
Right.
Forgery in the second degree.
You know how he does.
Big Larry Johnson fan.
Huge.
No.
That one family city dweller.
November 21st, 2013, theft in the second degree.
He's a fucking problem.
Certainly.
An article here January 18, 2014, controversy still follows Glendon Alexander this time through
his basketball academy.
Uh-oh.
Here we go.
It's on.
Glendon Alexander has turned up in Iowa where he faces fresh accusations.
Iowa?
Iowa.
What the fuck did Iowa come into the conversation?
Why did he go there?
We were sticking in the big 12 conference I thought we were staying in.
What happened here?
I guess that's where you go when you're trying to hide out, yeah?
It's like Alaska.
if you're lazy.
Yeah.
You're like,
I don't want to go all the way there.
For free?
Yeah, I don't want to go all the way to Alaska.
What's Iowa?
He denies wrongdoing.
He sounds sincere.
But then, doesn't he always?
That's the article's how it starts.
Alexander said,
all my con days,
that's in the past.
I'm done conning.
Done, said Alexander,
who hard as it is to fathom
turns 36 next month.
Half a lifetime ago,
he was,
his basketball talent accorded him
all the benefit of the doubt
or the benefit of all doubt
first is an American
McDonald's All-American
at Carroll Town Newman Smith
where he scored 3637 points
a record that still stands to that day
despite a knee injury
his exceptional shooting range
took him to Oklahoma State
where Nolan Richardson
Nolan Ryan almost said again
described him as
because your brain says Nolan
and then season R that's Nolan Ryan
fucking what are we talking
about.
Richardson knows what he's done.
Yeah.
He's lived a, he's really fucked up.
You're not getting it back.
You're not.
I'm sorry.
Who described him as a troublesome person and a habitual liar.
When the coach made his 2005 comments to Sports Illustrated, Alexander was well
into a federal prison sentence after being convicted of all that shit.
They said that he left Oklahoma State 15 hours shy of his sociology degree.
his logical career path was basketball, which is what they thought.
As of 2009, he'd seemingly gained little traction, arrested in May of that year and sentenced to six months in federal prison for failure to make restitution payments.
Alexander stated in court affidavit that he had no real estate, no car, and listed his liquid assets as worth.
Are you ready for this?
A 30-something-year-old man, what he's worth?
$40.
That's his worth.
His net worth is $40.
I got $2.20s, you guys.
But he owes half a million.
What's your net worth? Let me see.
Hold on.
He's like Lenny Dykstra.
What do you mean?
I'm broke.
I got like $78, $77 here.
I'm not broke.
It's the exact same thing.
That's my liquid.
Look at that.
I'm ready to go.
What are you?
$78 there?
There's like $70-something there.
That's not, you owe millions of dollars.
He's like, that's not bro, what are you talking about?
I'm broke.
I mean, I got, hey, right here.
He had change falling out.
He had change in crumpled singles in there.
He literally, 26, 27.
He's counting change.
This fucking guy owes $425,000.
So, unbelievable.
It's, that's, yeah.
In rest of, that's what he's got to get to, to get to zero with no assets.
So when he went.
out that $40 in court.
Somebody came up,
and I took it out of his hand
and we're like,
actually, that's going to go
to you owe a lot of money,
so we're going to take that part too.
He's like, ah,
zero.
He doesn't even have a car,
Jimmy, not a car.
How do you live?
I don't know.
Alexander said in 2010,
he formed the ABCD Basketball
Academy, a post-high school
program,
okay, for players
to train, play games
around the country
and potentially earn a college scholarship.
So he was like his own AAU, but post high school for guys who weren't good enough to get scholarships at a high school.
Guys who are desperate to pay money is what that is to go.
He said, I have pretty much built a machine the last couple of years where every year I'm sending two or three kids to Division I schools.
I'm helping kids in that way.
Oh.
That's what he said.
What does that do for you?
A player from last season's ABCD team,
Yvonne Lukik, Lukich of Serbia,
earned a scholarship to James Madison University.
One of the season's players,
6'9-Emmanuel Malau of Australia,
is being recruited by Iowa State, among other schools.
They said,
so why did ABCD and Alexander wind up in Urbandale, Iowa, near Des Moines?
He said that his wife, Jessica's from there,
and he won't, that's why they relocated there.
Yeah.
Now, contrary to Alexander's depiction of ABCD as a thriving academy, though, some say that during his brief time in central Iowa, he's left a wake of disorganization, lies, broken promises, and unpaid bills.
Yeah, and theft.
And theft, and having no car, a lot of owed rides as well.
What the fuck.
Gas money is the other thing he owes.
A lot of gas money.
In October, the news was contacted by Kelly Baker, single-bracred.
parent mother of former ABCD player Harry Chacarillis, loser.
Luser with your single parent.
Baker said she pulled her son from the program because of what she called
substandard housing meals and basketball training.
Baker forwarded a complaint she filed with the Better Business Bureau, contending
Alexander should repay $2,500 of the $4,000 she wired him as a down payment
for the program $6,500.
fee for basketball instruction,
travel cost, housing, and meals.
Oh, fuck. So he's
robbing people.
Yeah, it's a big scam.
Before they even send their kids there, he wants
money from them. Oh, yeah, yeah. This is like
a modeling school.
Yeah. Right. It's like one of those,
hey, we want to take your pictures. Oh, yeah, the
agents are going to love you. Just give us $1,000
for these pictures and you're going to have all the head shots.
Same shit. Again, we know
lots of comics that fall for that dumb shit.
Yeah. Get a head shot before they
five fucking minutes of usable material.
Read this script and let's see if you're any good at it.
And then when you're not, they just want you to go get headshots and they want you to go to
classes.
That's it.
Go do some reading.
Let me tell you something from two guys who work the fucking clubs and work with famous people
and work, you know, in the legitimate fucking comedians is what we're saying.
Here's when you need a headshot.
Yeah.
When someone says, hey, we need a headshot from you.
That won't happen for a while.
When that happens, you'll know because that's when you'll need.
When a real club wants you, they won't grab one of your Instagram pictures.
They'll actually want your headshot at that point.
High res.
Send me something that a professional took.
That's going to take a few years.
When you hear the words high res.
Yes.
Go get them.
We need a high res headshot.
It's got to be good for Maripote.
That's when it is.
Calm down.
It'll take a while.
Enjoy.
You're not getting it for a minute.
Nope.
So in the email, I guess, they said,
Baker, who is one of the players, said, this guy has not changed his ways at all.
In phone interviews, Baker, checkerilus, that's the person who's suing, a guard from the Cleveland suburb of Willoughby, described a nightmarish four-week association with ABCD.
Before signing a contract with Alexander, they flew to Des Moines toward a practice facility with Alexander and were shown the outside.
of a large rental house where this player and other players were to stay.
So this looks great.
Baker said Alexander told her there would be a chef, a tutor, and Wi-Fi.
Oh.
Oh, yeah.
She said Alexander advised checkerillis to enroll in online courses
in order to academically qualify for college in the event he was offered a scholarship
because he only had a 1.8 GPA.
Shit.
If it's just don't say, just go, it's bad if it's below two.
That's not even a GPA at that point, is it?
It's not...
If it starts with a one?
Yeah.
Anything is sub two, just go, I don't have one.
Yeah, I don't know.
It's bad.
It's not good.
It's not good.
That means don't even ask me about my SAT scores because I didn't even know what day the test was on.
I didn't take it.
So that's what they were told.
She said that Alexander advised him of all of that.
But after withdrawing money from her 401K and wiring,
it, so she paid penalties on that shit.
And taxes.
She paid taxes so high.
And wiring it to Alexander, Baker said she was horrified to learn.
Her son was placed in the smaller of ABCD's two rental houses that one of the houses initially had no hot water and neither home had Wi-Fi.
So, Baker said she mailed a Wi-Fi hotspot and a cooking pan because not only was there no chef or tutor, but nothing in which the players could cook meals even.
Oh my God.
Initially, Chichorellas said,
Alexander brought bread and cold cuts
and told the players to divide it for lunch and dinner.
Jesus Christ.
Okay.
Glendon brought a 32 pack of ramen noodles for lunch and dinner a couple of days.
That was probably the worst it got.
We didn't have a microwave,
so we had to walk to the other house to make it.
To boil water.
To boil the fucking water.
After the season opening tournament,
in Chicago, the only trip he would make,
Chichorellis played sparingly,
even though by contract,
ABCD players are guaranteed
a minimum number of minutes played.
Jesus, he just fucks him on every single,
so at least let him play if you're not going to feed him
or house him, for Christ's sake.
ABCD.
Wow.
Chickerellas said Alexander drove the players in a van
early in the morning of the first game.
On the return trip,
Chickerellis said Alexander got tired,
pulled over, rented three hotel rooms,
one for himself and the two others for the 15 players.
Everybody else share that room.
You guys in there.
They said some of us slept in the van, but it got too cold.
These are not small people.
This is a basketball team.
They're all tall guys.
They're huge.
But it got too cold.
So we got a blanket from the hotel lady and laid down in the hallway.
Oh, my God.
From the hotel lady.
Concierge gave us a blanket.
The front desk felt bad.
imagine walking to your room and seeing a six-foot-four boy lying down with a
just curled up on the floor.
You're like, well, you're too tall to be homeless.
Why are you here?
With shrimp ramen powder all over his lips.
Because I haven't run into Delante West, so I have never seen a homeless person taller than me.
For some reason, that tells you a lot about society, though.
Yeah.
If you're tall, you'll make a living somehow.
times.
You've never seen a six-foot-six guy at an overpass, begging for change.
Never.
It's never happened.
It just doesn't happen.
It's very weird.
It's very weird.
Like I said, outside of Delante West, we've never seen this, ever.
So they said that, he said that's, I've only seen that on cell phone video.
Yeah, I've never seen it.
I've never run into him.
That's what I mean.
Never run.
I know.
This guy said, that's when I told my mom, I don't know if I can do this.
So Baker sent half.
a greyhound bus ticket to come home.
She said she called and texted Alexander repeatedly about getting all but her $1,500 deposit back, but never got a response.
Ensuing inquiries by the news led to Terry Howitt, CEO of Urbandale's F3 Firehouse Athletic Complex, or ABCD trained from the start of early September to early October in 2013.
What does that tell you for one month?
Yeah.
Tells you, right in pay.
And the next thing is, according to Howitt, Alexander failed to pay rent and how its efforts to collect payments were unsuccessful.
Howitt said that at the end of ABCD's first season in Iowa, he got stuck with a $1,600 extended stay hotel bill somehow.
This is very similar to that fucking class, that school that, remember the guy that the Netflix documentary?
Oh, absolutely.
Oh, this is so common.
It's crazy.
These sports scams and academies and training centers.
Yeah.
This is a huge.
Club sports is a racket.
These parents, just to play the sports, it's expensive.
These parents with all these traveling teams are an open fucking checkbook and these guys know it.
They will do anything to get their kid to the next level.
They'll empty their veins and their bank accounts.
They're idiots, these people.
If you're that good, they'll look.
I just want my daughter just to be in a club.
Guess what?
If you're that good, they'll ask you for a high-res headshot.
It's the same fucking thing with this.
If you're that good, you'll know it because they'll be asking you for shit.
They'll be doing a high-res four camera shoot of your highlight.
That's how I knew I needed a headshot because the club said, need a high-res headshot.
I don't have one of those.
Fuck, I better go take one.
Better call somebody.
That's when I got one.
Before that, didn't fucking have one because it didn't matter.
So I wrote jokes instead.
It was much, much better use of your time.
Stop worrying about headshots and worrying about jokes.
Yeah.
And the head shots cost a lot of fucking money.
Yeah.
We got a guy to do it for free because it was one of a friend of Sarah's think fuck.
Because I had, I didn't even have a bank account.
I had no money.
These people just want so much money to take a couple of pictures of you.
Oh, shit.
But I mean, it's, look, it's an art.
Those are people that need money too.
That's somebody that's working.
That's what they do.
It's like saying, will you go do a set for free because I want you to?
Will you take my head shots?
I'm not doing it.
This was luckily a guy who was like an artist and photographer who was trying to get into headshots.
So he was like, I'll do them for free because I need practice.
So we were like, okay, cool.
If you want expensive headshots, run that cost evaluation against what your cost evaluation is.
If it's more than what you make, then you probably don't need that.
You probably don't need that.
Probably get a step below him.
Yeah, totally.
So this guy Howitt said he met Alexander.
After Glendon arrived from Texas in the summer of 2012,
Alexander coached one of F3's Youth League teams and worked as a skills trainer,
which that he's qualified for probably.
Most of last season's ABCD roster was comprised of international players,
including three from Serbia, two from Montenegro, and two from Canada.
But as players arrived, Alexander had not secured housing,
so how it helped arrange for the players to stay at the hotel.
According to Howitt, when Alexander failed to pay for part of the season's final month, the hotel manager phoned Howitt and mentioned that an unpaid debt by one of F3's employees would reflect poorly on the facility, so Howard had to pay it.
He said that he'd previously spoken to Alexander about improving ABCD's operations after seeing that players went long stretches without practicing and lacked reliable transportation.
For the season, Alexander rented two houses on the same street in Des Moines near the Drake University campus.
Howitt said things seemed to be in order.
By all outward appearances, it looked as if he was doing things the right way.
According to how it, Alexander kept failing to pay rent at F3 and fell behind
and paying F3 weight trainers who worked with the players.
He said, it's just one of these things that we as an organization have bent over backwards to help this gentleman get on the right path.
He said that he had to contact Des Moines Police about filing a theft of service complaint but was told it wasn't a criminal matter unless he could prove Alexander never intended to pay.
Oh.
So he could still pay you.
Did you have an agreement for exactly when or whatever?
So this guy said I had to pursue it in civil court.
According to the Des Moines Police Department's public information officer, Alexander's legal record has been spotless during his two plus years in central Iowa.
He said not even a traffic ticket.
Great.
Great.
The news found, no, he was too busy working on a bigger scam.
That's why.
The news found no record of current or past civil proceedings involving him in Iowa.
Civil disputes with an angry facility owner and an unhappy parent totaling a few thousand dollars don't begin to compare to his old crimes as they go into all of that.
Alexander says he understands his past transgressions impact his current reputation and some people, they conclude the worst and they shouldn't.
it's it's real easy just to lump me in with shit.
He said it's always going to follow me.
It's entangled with who I am.
I'll never run from that like I run from federal court.
Everything.
So initially he declined requests for the interview for this story.
But ABCD, which began with the season with 17 players divided into two teams,
was scheduled to send a squad to North Texas to play three games from November 19th to the
first. But those games against
Richland College,
Christian Life Prep, and God's
Academy were canceled the day
before the trip. Jesus.
Fucking future Oral Roberts team members there.
Richland coach Bill Foy
said Alexander emailed to say
he couldn't travel because Jessica was near
giving birth.
When at Jessica's urging, he agreed to a phone
interview two weeks later. Alexander said
that though his wife was indeed
pregnant, the Texas trip was canceled for budgetary reasons.
All right.
He said, post-grad basketball is an animal in itself.
If anybody tries to do a post-grad program, they're nuts because a lot of shit can go wrong.
You could use the money people give you for shit that they didn't, for your own shit and not the shit that they paid for.
You shouldn't be spending on.
Yeah, it's like, it's really hard to embezzle.
There's like not a lot of, you know, not a lot of disposable, embezzable income.
That's the problem.
I need lots of income I can steal from.
He called Chickerellas' description of scant meals and questionable living conditions,
totally fabricated, pointing out that if those stories were true,
other parents wouldn't keep their sons in there.
They're from Serbia.
What the fucking are you talking about?
What the fuck are they going to go?
Yeah.
Well, he came from Bosnia.
His house got blown up, but I mean, he wouldn't stay here.
He'd go back and live in the rubble if it wasn't for this.
What are you talking about?
They just think that's what's supposed to be.
be. The living conditions, in my opinion, are above the norm for post-grad basketball. Wow.
Jessica, with whom Lendon has a three-year-old son, Braylin, described in an email to the news how ABCD players are often welcomed into and fed at her home as well as her parents' home.
Right.
That seems kind of just makeshift, though. He says, in addition, among this year's activities, she said they've been a, have been the team attending.
church together. Oh, that's fucking disturbing. Coming to the Alexander's
house for Thanksgiving and going to the Iowa State, Texas football game. She said, my
point is, this is really a family thing. It's supposed to be a business, though. It's not
supposed to be a family thing. It's supposed to be a very specific business that you
purported. Not just a business. It's supposed to be an opportunity for these kids to get better
to development. That's what it is. Early in the season, ABCD players
tweeted about endless van rides to games in Wyoming, Iowa, and Nebraska,
but also photos from mid-Novembermber's tournament in Las Vegas,
including the limo they took to the game against the national prep power Finley.
They did what?
It seems dumb.
A van would have done fine.
Yeah, get a van.
What are you doing?
Alexander said, quote,
let's give him another in their own words,
because I love when they make excuses.
That always makes it really fun.
That is fucking funny.
All right, here we go.
In their own words, quote, does everything go to plan?
No, because a lot hinges on the parents.
Like my current team, I've got five kids whose parents are past due on payments.
Do I just up and kick a kid out of my program?
No.
Why?
Because they're going to write and tell you what a bad person I am.
Oh.
That's what it is.
Yeah, that's why?
That's rich.
I don't want a bad rep, he said.
Yeah.
As for the hotel bill, the other guy paid,
Alexander said the hotel got a new manager and that the previous one allowed late payments most months.
So see, it's not my fault.
They got a new guy and, you know, excuses, excuses, fraud lies.
Allegedly, whatever.
How did how it pay that bill?
That's his problem.
I didn't go to him begging for it because he didn't want to ruin his reputation.
That's why.
His is decent.
He doesn't owe half a million dollars and have done fucking.
in years in federal prison. That's why.
He doesn't have a judgment for
$400,000 before
he eats a sandwich.
Yeah, exactly. As for
the rental facility, Alexander said that
though an agreement was drawn up, he never
signed it. So that means I don't
have to pay because I didn't sign it.
I never said I'd do that.
This guy's, think about what he's saying.
He's banking on them not doing
the paperwork properly. Well, I
didn't sign it. He said he wasn't
aware that F3 would be closed for two
weeks for construction necessitating ABCD to have to rent another facility, though, although
how it said Alexander was definitely aware of that and wasn't being charged for those weeks either.
So, duh.
Alexander said how it made more than enough to compensate for any debts by for several months,
posting Alexander's photo on F3's website.
He said, I'm not being arrogant about it, but with my name and my credentials on his site,
what, you've never played in the fucking league.
I mean, I could certainly get a whole bunch of inmates to come in here with my name on it.
You had a, he's saying, I draw players because of my name.
You are a middling less than college player who washed out and is done and then committed fraud for 10 years.
What reputation?
I'll certainly have a draw.
What credentials?
For the best players.
He said to draw kids from around the eight.
area. I'm pretty sure he got $20,000 out of the deal if he wants to be realistic.
Alexander, during a phone interview, told the news he would make current ABCD players available
and encourage parents to talk about a program vastly different from what Baker and her son
described. Aside from Chickarillis, Alexander said the only departure to that point of the
season was a young man who he booted for shoplifting a cap. You got a lot of balls fucking
shot booting a kid for that. You're kicking people out for being dishonest. Fuck you.
for stealing. At least it wasn't from a
teammate, probably. You fucking
scumbag. He said she
meaning Baker, the kid's mother, is
trying to paint a picture of, here we go
again, Alexander said.
That's further from the truth.
If I had one kid leave the way she
had her kid lead and I terminate
a kid and still have 15 kids,
I must be doing something right.
Oh boy. Yes, you have desperate kids is what you have.
They want to play
basketball and no one wants to
fucking let them.
So after the interview, though, communication from Alexander abruptly ended.
Players weren't made available.
Parents didn't return calls to the news or when reached declined to comment.
Within days, ABCD's playing schedule and player roster disappeared from the website.
Oh, is that right?
Tiding out.
Gradually, tweets trickled out from players indicating they left ABCD,
including Luke Zappf of El Paso and Malik Henderson of Washington.
Henderson tweeted on December 12th
Freedom with four exclamation points
And one of his teammates replied
Good luck to my bro from Milwaukee
P.S. I'm next.
Oh boy.
Some to fuck out.
The two players reached by the news
declined to be quoted by name
But both said seven players have departed
Leaving ABCD with fewer than 10
Wow.
But you can't even play a fucking practice game
If you have nine players.
No, I mean, you got 10.
Nobody can rest.
All right, everybody.
Three on three half court.
Fuck this.
We're not going to...
Okay.
The two players who spoke anonymously
agreed with Chikarillis
that the early days in the rental homes
weren't ideal, but said conditions soon improved.
One of the players said that among the reasons he left
was that soon after the season began,
the two squads were combined to one
and that several trips were cut from the schedule.
They weren't even playing the games.
Right.
The player added that once ABCD lost access to the F,
facility practices removed to a church gym, and even then the team worked out sporadically.
He said, my parents felt like they didn't get what they paid for out of the program.
And I come from a two-parent home.
They expect better.
That's what it is.
Yeah.
Among the remaining ABCD players is Walter Rickett.
Jesus.
Rickett?
It's got Rickets.
The third of Carrollton Newman Smith, Alexander's alma mater.
He might actually think he's hot shit because he's seen his.
stuff up in the high school.
Interesting.
Well, no, they haven't because sometime after Alexander went to prison in 2002,
Newman Smith removed its gym all indications that Alexander ever played there,
including a banner signifying his scoring record.
His record is gone.
They have the fucking scoring record guy from their school and they took the banner down.
That's how virus they are.
Don't tell anybody.
Still Alexander said he developed a friendship with Rick.
who asked during a heart to heart
how Alexander felt
seeing contemporaries
like 96 fellow McDonald's
All-Americans, Richard Hamilton,
and Kobe Bryant star in the NBA.
Fuck yeah, Yukon.
I told him, man,
if you would have asked me that
when I was 25 and in prison,
I would have given you a fucking comment
as to how I felt,
but I moved on.
Okay.
To me, the game of basketball
is like my life.
I'm going to shoot, I'm going to make it.
I'm going to shoot, I'm going to miss.
But I love to shoot the basketball.
So I'm going to keep shooting.
I'm going to keep getting arrested.
February 25, 2014, there's an article, Bad Bounce, Basketball Academy, possible scam.
A hundred percent, yeah.
So, yeah, they talked all about basically the same stuff.
Yeah.
Yeah, so they said that he would be using the facility, and the guy who ran it said he'd be here five or six hours a day.
End of the second month, I said, we have to have rent.
Well, then the disappearing act.
Uh-oh.
So then he got all the bills, and he said rent started slipping behind, wrote a couple of bad checks.
He also, another guy said, so it's a lot.
One person here, Alexander's accused of writing a bad check to a church.
What?
Well, good.
They have enough fucking tax-free money.
That's the only place you can write a bad check to, and I go, good, fuck them.
Probably.
Pay some taxes, motherfuckers.
Yeah. Pay taxes, then I'll feel bad for you. How's that?
Yeah. Then if you're scammed, you're an actual person. But at this point, they're just scamming the money you already scammed. So it's no honor among thieves. Who cares? Fuck you.
Oh, man. So he purchased a van from the Westminster Presbyterian Church for $2,000.
According to the police report, the business administrator tried to contact Alexander by phone, email, and certified mail.
but again the disappearing act.
He said,
we had a hard time tracking him down too.
Oh, this is the article.
When we knocked on the door
of his last known address,
the woman believed to be his wife,
told us she'd kicked him out a month ago.
The Howitt guy said,
it makes me sick.
He says he doesn't like losing money
but believes the big losers
are the kids that were involved
in this program here.
And the lady, the baker lady,
who took $4,000 out of her 401K,
to pay for this, said, I'm a single mom.
I live paycheck to paycheck.
Right.
Again, single parents.
Should have went to Jouko.
And he's robbing him.
He's robbing him fucking blind.
All of this type of shit.
So they also said there was no alarms in the house.
There was no hot water for two weeks.
Never any wife.
He had to share a roll of toilet paper with another boy for two weeks.
How does a roll of toilet paper last two boys?
Two weeks?
It's a lot of showers, right?
I guess it's just wash it out of your ass and jerk off while you're in there too, by the way.
That's two weeks.
Yeah, two weeks.
No way.
So anyway, this Howitt said, shame on you.
You could have turned your life around and helped these kids.
Instead, you're the same that you were in the past.
Karma will catch you.
It will come back to bite you.
Okay.
And so April 30th, 2014, arrest warrant issued for Glendon.
over his basketball academy.
So it has come to that.
Apparently, the landlord of the property
where the player stayed said he didn't pay rent
and the church that sold him a van said the check bounced.
Now he's charged with theft.
Oh, boy.
The Des Moines Police Sergeant said,
people make mistakes and we understand that.
We're not going to prosecute people on a bounce check.
But what Mr. Alexander had done
had written a check knowing the money
wasn't there to cover it
and didn't try to get money in there
to cover the check later.
And they said that mixed with his history.
made it look pretty bad for him.
So certainly, yeah.
A bunch more charges.
He's pretty fucked at this point.
So he's, I mean, imagine this guy, how do you, if you're going to sit there in jail,
you're just kind of process what your next excuses that has to be, like your next scam.
What else could you be doing in there at this point?
If that's all you've done this entire time, that's all you do.
That's it.
So, I mean, he's sitting there.
He has no idea how to rearrange his fucking life.
Maybe his wife left him possibly.
And then he gets some help.
Yeah.
Through the door comes a friend of his, a new friend.
It's Dexter Manly, everybody.
Oh, baby.
Here he is, that's right.
Interior designer from New York City.
And he says,
How is it you've come to arrive here?
Seriously.
Oh, my God.
You are white trash.
I'm sorry.
I don't care what color you are.
You, this is the behavior of,
this is disgusting.
Single parent behavior.
your sir white trash is what you are look at you you might as well be a trailer person that's what i
feel from you that's the vibes i'm getting you're stealing you're you're i picture you like
crawling through an old lady's trailer window and like stealing her pills out of her like that's where
you are you're like this close to ryan leaf it's bad like trash you're trash sir i don't know
what you're going to do i talk to vince he didn't even want to come here Vince is very excited
about this you're a big guy too and he said no i want to hang on to my wife i want to hang on to
to my wallet.
He's so weird.
You know how he talks like,
you know he goes.
So like,
I was like,
okay,
fine,
Vince,
I'll do it,
I'll do it.
But believe me,
I'm going to check my pockets
when I leave is all I'm saying.
That's it.
Okay,
I gotta go,
bye,
but poof.
And then in a cloud
of boas and feathers
and all sorts of shit,
he's gone.
And Glendon's mad
he didn't get a couple bucks out of him.
He thought maybe you can sell him something,
scam something to him.
At least a free throw coaching class.
Yeah,
no shit.
October 22nd, 2015,
fallout begins after Hoops League founders' true identity revealed.
Oh.
The Amera League pro basketball player draft has been postponed.
The league faces a lawsuit and potential players began turning away from the league Thursday
amid fallout of the disclosure of the true identity of the league's founder.
Late Wednesday, outside the lines, that ESPN, I think, right?
Yeah, yeah.
reported that current and former Amera League employees believed the founder of the league who touted himself as Sir Rudy Brown, C-E-R-R-R-U-I-U-T-I, Sir Rudy Brown, is actually Glendon Alexander.
He just said, well, I got a bad, what's my worst asset, my reputation?
If I just change my name, they don't know I got a bad reputation.
But he's the guy that said his name would sell and bring things and draw.
Well, now it's driving people away.
Marcus Bass, the league's operations manager, said he's in shock over this, the developments involving, quote, Brown.
But he remains in discussions with agents and players and is hopeful someone will step forward as an investor to either buy individual teams or run the entire six-team league.
He said, it was a viable product.
It's a good model.
an intelligent idea.
There has to be someone out there who believes in it.
It's good players who are committed in Las Vegas.
He said the draft initially scheduled to be held Thursday has been postponed while people
try to figure this shit out.
Bass said he confronted Brown after being called by outside the lines.
He said, I talked to him, asked him, and he admitted he was Glendon Alexander.
Yeah, that's me.
But the fucker, I looked you up, dude.
I see your OSU fucking yearbook picture.
Are you kidding me?
I know we are.
He told me he was stepping away and to tell the staff there'll be new ownership.
I was in shock.
I'm just hoping that all the people who've worked on this project can land on their feet.
Brown, quote unquote, could not be reached for comment, but he denied via text message earlier in the month that he was Glendon Alexander.
He denied it?
He said, very wrong.
You're not the first person who's asked me that either.
Unbelievable.
God damn it, this guy's a dick.
He really is.
Brown and his small...
That means everybody's on to you, man.
You're fool and nobody.
Everybody says that.
Super crazy, right?
Yeah, I know.
Like, what a dick.
You're not the first to tell me that.
Wow, that is fucking amazing.
I guess there's recent successes in signing numerous ex-NBA players, including
Royce White, who was taken in the 16th overall in 2012 draft.
Bass, who has not talked with Brown.
Stop calling him Brown.
He's Alexander.
on Thursday said he's been one of the player
been one player of the 20 or so
who have agreed to contracts
who has asked to be released
he said two agents who represent multiple players
said they have not ruled out the option of playing
in the league if it gets off the ground
but otherwise what the fuck are we going to do
they said quote it's not as if these guys have a ton of options
that's what the agent said
if someone will pay him something to play
fuck it so the lawsuit
here, Mark J. Benefield, an attorney who represents player agent Todd Seidel, filed a lawsuit in Tennessee
against LVD International LLC, aka Ameri League, and Glendon Alexander, claiming the league failed to
pay Seidel's management company for work. The claim is that they agreed to pay TBS management
initials payment of $6,500, and then he was to pay $11,750 per month for a one-year period.
Okay.
And that ain't what happened, apparently.
Bass was not the first employee to raise questions about Brown's identity.
The league's commissioner left after just one week in Vegas with suspicions and didn't return.
The president bolted eight days after because of similar concerns, and one of the six coaches pulled out just before boarding a flight for the startup league's hub, Vegas, because he had heard rumblings.
Uh-oh.
One former league commissioner said, quote, after he watched a video of Alexander, unless he has a body double, it's definitely him.
No question about it.
I saw him.
This is the guy.
Apparently, public records show links between Brown and Alexander.
Sir Rudy Nino Brown.
Stop it.
Dude, you're asking people to understand.
Come on.
Come on.
Sir Rudy, Tony Montana said fucking.
bubble. What are you kidding me?
Are you fucking
kidding me? What an asshole.
If you don't know, by the way, if you're
young, that is Wesley Snipes' name in
New Jack City, where he's a crime boss
who runs all the drug trafficking in the city.
Young and Brown named Nino Brown.
Good God.
It's a rap. Oh, I know.
Who said that? Who said that?
I just got the Jay Z.
Young and Brown,
Nino Brown. I'll type it in.
This better not give me some fucking
dirty website.
Yeah, it will.
It will.
Right in the Nino Brown.
Yeah.
J. Z from Tony Montana down to
Nino Brown.
It's a J.Z lyric, I think.
Or somebody on a JZ album.
This is a different song, I think.
It's probably in a bunch of them.
It's in a million songs from the 90s.
He was the most popular.
There was Tony Montana and the Nino Brown.
Those are the two big ones.
That's it.
So according there
Sorrito Nino
Brown was born on February 8th
or 28th,
1977 according to
Texas birth records.
That birth record lists
Rupert Natty Brown
is the father.
Rupert is his father's
fucking name
who appears in other court records
in public documents
to also go by the name
of Rupert Alexander
the name of Glendon's father.
Public records databases
have also
have no data on
anyone named Sarudi
Brown in the United States, aside from the Texas birth record and a Nevada business license
for LVD International, outside the lines found no other paper trail for Brown.
Because he doesn't fucking exist, I think is pretty safe to say.
Brown spoke repeatedly to the media last month about Ameri League.
He declined to talk about his background in detail and refused to divulge the league's
investors.
Oh my God.
Jesus Christ.
And then they go through his litany.
of shit overall, and it's a lot.
So this is a lot.
November 4, 2015,
my conversation with Sir Rudy Brown of the Ameri League,
USA Today Sports.
This is fucking funny.
He said that all this shit,
okay, Bernie, let's do this.
Let's have you send your lawyer to see me here in Kiev,
and I'll be very happy to meet him at the airport
and put him in the trunk of my car.
Hold on.
there was a team owner in Ukraine who after months of falling behind payments and promises, that's what they told this guy.
Hey, why don't you come over here and I'll murder you? It's fine. They talk about a bunch of other teams here. ABA team owner of a team in Chicago who had trouble playing for the bus.
Oh, my God.
So I waited until one day, I got a call from an 818 area code and had a very polished gentleman who identified himself as Sir Rudy Brown on the other end.
I'd ask some other people questions about Mr. Brown prior to this call, and no one knew anything of substance.
It seemed to be by design, which raised some questions, but I was open to hearing a story.
Okay.
How do you plan to market the league on how are you going to make money?
Quote, we're going to broadcast the games online and try to raise interest to appoint through fan attendance and engagement to entice sponsors and try to sell the league at some point.
Okay.
What have you done to secure signage balls?
uniforms, how are you going to make this look like a professionally run league as opposed to a bunch of recognizable players playing pickup basketball?
He said, America League, he said, we haven't thought about a lot of that yet, but I'm sure we will figure something out.
We haven't ordered uniforms or signage yet, but that should be the easiest part.
That's branding.
That's not an easy part.
Very easy.
Yeah.
So, anyway, they talk about all this, and it's a lot.
dude, this is, this is fucking wild.
I would say he's just,
he's a fucking mess.
They said the aspect of this debacle that I can't seem to understand is,
what was the end game for Mr. Brown or whatever his actual name is?
Where was the profit?
Where was the payoff?
And why did this person go through the trouble of creating such an elaborate lie?
The more I've thought about this,
the more I think sometimes there simply is no clear answer,
and it's mostly just best to move on.
Yeah, what?
Yeah.
He's a fraud.
That's all it is.
Don't go thinking over it too much.
September 2016, providing false identification information arrested again.
And according to, we're not sure if this is true, but according to Binverified.com, he might work at Walgreens now.
We're not sure.
He possibly works at a Walgreens, which we brought up earlier, which is very funny.
Amazing.
So obviously, there's no net worth here.
His net worth is $40 he had in his pocket.
So I doubt he has much more than that.
15 years ago, James.
He's got to be broke by now.
It has to be.
How long does that stretch?
No shit.
Can't get enough of Glendon Alexander?
How long is that 40 get his dredging?
Horrified.
Well, we can go to, there's a picture of him on the razorbacks, dribbling a ball into the paint.
It's nine Australian dollars, so $6.32.
U.S.
Yeah.
And you can get it shipped to you here.
And that's it.
And we've not really many mistaken identities, but we do find a guy named Glenn,
Glendon Alexander, 52 years old in 2018, who's been charged with the alleged rape of a minor.
Oh my God.
Which is not good.
But that's not our guy.
For sure not.
We know it's not.
That guy's 10 years older than our guy.
So there you go, everybody.
That is Glendon Alexander.
And I've been wanting to do that story since we mentioned him on the Derek Bell episode because I was like,
what a mess this fucking guy is.
And he was.
He's got to be going by Zerudy at fucking lines, right?
Maybe.
Sir Rudy Nino Brown.
What is that?
And Sir Rudy is one of the detectives in the homicide book
and then on one of, and even on the wire,
that is one of the cops.
Seruti is one of the cops that they use.
I believe they use his name on there.
So, I think he just pulled it.
He just pulled it from like TV and movies.
It's really fucking weird.
He's like the cable guy.
It's so weird, dude.
Suruti Nino Brown.
Could you make it more obvious, dude?
Just a coincidence, huh?
So anyway, there you go.
