Let's start with this whole Kendrick tour. So Kendrick's tour is actually doing rather well, right? And not surprising to me, maybe surprising to you. Kendrick breaks a record.
Starting point is 00:09:41 He's breaking records with Gate. And what's happening is that when you do a stadium show, remember I told you when Drake was. going around, Drake charge is the highest ticket price for any hip hop artists. Obviously, Beyonce's of the same level, kind of, bad buddies is a little bit lower, and Taylor Swift is the highest. Like Taylor Swift charges basically an arm and a fucking leg if you want to go see your concerts. So what does that do?
Starting point is 00:10:07 If you go to a venue that holds $17,000, if you're charging on average $400, or let's not say $400,000, $300,000 for $17,000, you're going to, you're going to, you're going to, you're to rack up a gate price of a good amount. So there's touring companies and Tory data agencies that they actually monitor this, not only for Live Nation for other things, but that's how they kind of rank artists. They kind of see where they're strong at, with their weak at, whatever, and they also get to track the money. For example, you know, again, when Drake went to Madison Square Garden, all those shows gained
Starting point is 00:10:43 around $4, $4.4.5 million, right? It was around, like, we could look at it, right? Drake, it's a blur tour. If we look at it, which, by the way, this is the highest grossing tour of all time in hip hop, $320 million. But if we look at how it worked out, let's go to Madison Square Garden. Sorry, Madison Square Garden, which is here. He did, let's see, one, two, he did three shows, and three shows turned into $13 million. Actually, 14, let's just call it 14.
Starting point is 00:11:17 14 divided by three, I mean, it's $4.5 million, right? So the average for what Drake was grossing in ticket sales was $4.5 million, right? Now, here's the thing. In Madison Square Garden, because if we do three divided by this, I'll do it on the side. Because that was the attendance, $51,000, 51 divided by three. So the sellout was 17,000 each time. So 17,200. Okay.
Starting point is 00:11:52 Now, why I'm not surprised that Kendrick is breaking records for rap is because other than Eminem, these rappers don't do stadium tours, even though we know they could do stadium tours. Okay? For example, if you could do 50,000 people in Madison Square Garden and 65,000 people
Starting point is 00:12:13 in Barclays, they're both in New York City, you're doing 110,000 people in New York City. That means you could have done Yankee Stadium, and I think Yankee Stadium will probably be like 40,000. Or MetLife, 30 to 40,000 people. Okay, so Drake could absolutely do a stadium, for whatever reason you don't do a stadium, right? So I'm not surprised when we see stadium shows,
Starting point is 00:12:36 one show gross more than an arena show. That just makes sense. A stadium will hold 40,000. An arena will hold 17,000. Makes sense, right? So, yeah, Kendrick is moving around and breaking records for hip hop. Now, they're saying they're being kind of like really odd by saying blackmail artists. And anytime you see the word blackmail artists, you know, these are PR blasts.
Starting point is 00:13:04 I don't know if this person is getting paid for it. But when they say blackmail artists instead of rapper, that means they're trying to also throw a little shade at the weekend. because the weekend is the only black male pop star who does insane fucking numbers, okay? So when they say black male artists, and by the way, Weekends team XO, they use that terminology to compare him and Drake. Because Drake will have all these records like, he's the rapper with the most streams. And then the Weekends team will be like, well, he's not the male black artist with the most dreams. Okay, because obviously the weekend is R&B. Anyway.
Starting point is 00:13:38 So Kendrick Lamar show in Arlington, Texas has broken the record for the highest growth in concert. ever performed by a black male artist, $11.8 million. Now, let's see, Arlington, Texas. Let's look at the GenX tour right quick. GenX tour. All right. Genx tour. All right.
Starting point is 00:13:57 So Arlington, where's Arlington? So this is an AT&T stadium, right? Let's see how much it holds capacity. So the capacity for that is 80,000. Holy shit. Now, we don't know how much of the stadium. it's not going to be 80,000. That's for like a football game.
Starting point is 00:14:14 And a football game means only the field is like occupied and then fans can sit all around as a 360 view. Most times with artists, they use 270 because you're not going to have you behind the stage. They're going to have a lead out to the stage, so they'll have you 270, right? So they'll never have as much as a football, a football game would pull or could pull.
Starting point is 00:14:38 Now, I'm going to believe that all Kendrick shows are sold out. Again, I've told you out this whole thing, you know, at the highest level with these guys, Beyonce, Kendrick, Sabrina Carpenter, fucking Taylor Swift, everybody like that. Like, they're so locked in with Live Nation. Like, Live Nations ain't going to make them flop.
Starting point is 00:14:57 You get what I'm saying? They're going to make sure that's bitch and sold out. So let's be realistic. So if this place could hold $80,000, I'm going to think that the capacity probably was 50 to 60. Okay? And I think that's a very good conservative ballpark guess. We're guessing right now. 50 to 60,000 people, I think it holds more than
Starting point is 00:15:18 NRG Stadium, right? Yeah, that has the capacity of 72K, and U.S. Bank Stadium has definitely just not as big, right? So yes, makes sense. And by the way, I think Kendrick is breaking his own records because he's the only one going on the stadium tours. And by the way, I am very impressed and proud of him for doing it. Rappers have been scared of the stadium tour, and I'm I'm here to say I like the fact that Kendrick's doing it. I want to put out a public challenge out there because all of these rappers that I'm going to name could do it. Of course, Ye would do it and would have done it,
Starting point is 00:15:52 but we know stadiums, live nation, ain't fucking with them. By the way, anything taken for the gifted membership. But I do challenge all these artists. I challenge Travis Scott. Your next tour should be an arena tour. No, not arena. I mean a stadium tour. I challenge Drake.
Starting point is 00:16:12 You should be. Like, you're not making arena music no more. You're making stadium music. We want to see you in that stadium, buddy. Who else? Okay, and it's not me talking ill on him, and I'm glad that he's breaking records because I think he's set the new bar for hip hop in performances and where it should be. Let's get these rappers to perform in stadiums. You know how a lot of these things don't want to be on that stadium light? Because you've got to sing every word. Some of these niggas, like you're going to have to put on a show. Because when somebody's up in a nosebleed and they're like half a mile away from you and they're looking, they're like, is that Duckworth?

Starting point is 00:19:38 and both artists already were doing arena tours. So both artists can sell out 15,000 and they combined them. and made them co-headliners that they could pull in most venues or most cities 30,000 or more, which that would be the entry level to stadiums. Okay? That's the only thing I think it's a little bit cheating because I think, honestly, Kendrick didn't need no co-headliner.
Starting point is 00:20:03 If it's what we're talking about and it's really like that, because I think it is like that. I do think it's like that. I don't think he need a co-headliner. I think he could have went out here and did by his damn self. And I'm not saying Sizzer can't be on the lineup. But, you know, I haven't seen the show. Starting point is 00:27:42 the average ticket price is 220, 190,000 tickets sold. They have 42 million in revenue, which means so far for four shows, they're averaging 10 million per show. Yeah, they're beating that fucking record. They're beating that record. They're going to be that record.

Starting point is 00:36:08 So this is the U.S. attorney right here, Balal, and then his assistant attorneys, USA's, are these people. And essentially what they said, there's a supplement to the government's opposition to the defendant's application for reconsideration of bail. So essentially what they say,
Starting point is 00:36:28 and it comes to this page, on May 1st, 2025th, right, which is yesterday, The grand jury returned a second superseded indictment, charging the defendant banks and his co-conspirators with crimes, arising from the August 22 murder of Quano's friend Lil' Pop, including an additional charge of stalking resulting in death in violation of this statute. Defendant Banks has presented a false narrative
Starting point is 00:36:55 that he has been prosecuted and detained because of his violent lyrics. This claim is, and always been baseless, the superseding one or superseding indictment one contains no allegations about the defendant's lyrics instead just like every iteration of the indictment before it the superseded indictment one contains significant allegations that show the defendant's alleged role in the execution style murder of Taekwant Bowman which is Quanta rondo's friend little pop on a busy street in a corner on a busy street corner in Los Angeles these allegations and other evidence in a court considered during the defendants, blah, blah, okay, cool.
Starting point is 00:37:34 So essentially they said that we got a new supersede indictment. Now, we get more information about the superseding indictment here. This is from Dirk's team. And Dirk's team says, hey, they had this ex parte meeting, right, where the government served them with this supersede indictment, and they said, okay, cool, we're going to need some time to kind of process this. And they agreed in an ex parte communication, because usually one side says one thing,
Starting point is 00:38:02 the other side says another thing, and the judge has to rule who they're going to go in favor for or what the rule is going to be. But if the two parties come to an agreement without the judge, which is, as I said, without a party's ex parte, they could say this is going to be an unopposed request. So they're saying the government agrees with them that they're going to need more time to look over this new indictment, right?
Starting point is 00:38:28 So that's what he said, Defendant Dirk Banks on opposed request for additional time to submit his reply in support of the application for reconsideration of detention order. Defendant Dirk Banks through his attorneys, Drew Finland, Marisa Goldberg, Jonathan Braven, and Christy O'Connor hereby files his unopposed request for brief extension of time to submit his reply, blah, blah, blah, and said on April 23rd, he got granted a hearing. At the end of the day yesterday, one day before the defendant's reply was due, the government. informed the defense counsel through email that they had gone back to the grand jury and re-indicted the case in a second supersede indictment against banks. Now, chat, let me kind of break that down in the lamest terms. The government knew they made a big fuck up. It looked bad.
Starting point is 00:39:16 Now, I don't think the judge would have dismissed this case against Dirk because of the fan video or the fan edited video that was used to get the indictment. indictment. That's not why. I don't think it would have been dismissed either way. But to cross their T's, dot their eyes, remember this is federal court, not state court, this is supposed to be the big leagues. So since they realized they fucked up, they ran back to the grand jury.
Starting point is 00:39:49 They had about two weeks to do this. They ran back to the grand jury and presented the case again in the sneak under the quiet. and the grand jury came back and said, we're still indicting him again. So they're using this as the second superseding indictment. The way it works and clearly by the definition of the word superseding, the indictment that is the last superseded indictment is the only indictment that matters.
Starting point is 00:40:19 Okay. So the previous ones do not matter. It says the government provided a copy of the new indictment to the undersigned counsel on today's date. In the second superseding indictment, the government has chosen to. So they're saying the government threw it through in the towel saying the lyrics, whatever, whatever. It says to remove the allegation regarding Mr. Banks' lyrics previously attached in previously included in the first of the first superseding indictment. They removed an allegation regarding payment of bounties.
Starting point is 00:40:50 So that's actually important. We didn't know that. So they're saying they removed an allegation that Dirk was. was going to pay these people, which I'm wondering why they did that. That's the basis of murder for hire. If you charge me with murder for hire, at some point, you've got to prove that I plan to pay these people. I promise to pay these people, or I did pay these people.
Starting point is 00:41:13 So we're going to have to figure out about that. And that was previous including in the first superseding indictment. And an additional charge of stalking. So they have given Dirk another charge called stalking, resulting in death. Okay? I'm wondering what was, why give him this charge? Like the murder charge should be the top charge.
Starting point is 00:41:38 Like, why give him this like charge that kind of rolls up and kind of deals with murder, but it's not murder? Whatever, anyway. As a court is aware, both from the initial detention hearing and in current brief on Mr. Banks' application for a reconsideration of the detention order, the government's allegation regarding Mr. Bank's lyrics have been a hotly contested issue before this court. It appears that the government has conceded this issue, but in the re-indictment of this case, raises new factual and legal issues. Based on the above, Mr. Banks respectfully requests that
Starting point is 00:42:09 the court gives him a brief extension to file's reply, so he and his counsel could review the new indictment and respond as necessary and appropriate. Mr. Banks requests that he be permitted to file his reply on or before Tuesday, May 6th. And then they signed. Marissa Goldberg. does it who she works out of drew Finland's office by the Christie O'Connor is on it that's been Dirk's longtime lawyer and also Jonathan Brayman who represented him for his gun cases in Chirac back in a day when he was there okay so that's pretty much to update the government realized they fucked up they came with a new supersede indictment they added one little petty charge stalkin resulted in death which here's here's the thing all these charges are
Starting point is 00:42:54 kind of linked if Dirk beats the murder for higher charge he beats the the stalking charge. You get what I'm saying? So they just kind of doing a useless charge, but whatever. So Dirk's team requested a week

Starting point is 01:04:31 Now again, I don't know if that's the Shannon Sharp shit, but I'm just going off of her story. That the argument ensued first before he allegedly raped you. The argument was about the fact that he had removed one girl from his house and put another girl in his house and didn't tell me.
Starting point is 01:04:53 and he had asked me to break up with my husband at the time. We were just dating, so I was dating Shannon and my husband at the same time. He asked me to, Shannon asked me to break up with my husband. And I don't recall for sure, but I think I did. And so, you know, I was like, wait a minute, you want me to be with just you, but you want to move somebody into your house and not even tell me. So that's what it stemmed from. He's not a faithful person, so I wasn't going to be faithful to a non-faithful person.
Starting point is 01:05:28 It just doesn't work that way. Not for me anyway. So he was in the league at that time, right? So it's still Shannon Sharp. What team did he play for? Was it the Browns? Or was it the Broncos? I think it's Broncos, right?
Starting point is 01:05:41 Can you tell us just broadly? I know it's probably painful to relive the situation, but can you tell us generally what happened that day? It was fighting, and usually we fought. on the phone and not in person. So it was the biggest argument that we ever got in. And he was controlling, he was domineering. He, you know, he was manhandling me beforehand. And he wanted to have sex and I told him no. I told him, no because you gave it to somebody else. I didn't only tell him no, I told him why.

And so it was the hardest. So if I'm following her story and chat, we got to have sensitivity alerts as well. because we really don't know if it's true, whatever,
Starting point is 01:07:35 it's got to be sensitive to it. So he says Shannon pulls out his slong and stuffs it in her mouth and I'm guessing forces her to give him, you know, oral copulation, aka fallatio or head, right? Okay, all right. I think sometimes when we hear the idea of like oral sex,
Starting point is 01:07:58 we think it's, that's a harder thing to force because it's like, well, you're doing it, right? But shit, Shannon Sharp is like, you look like a big silverback gorilla. He could have, you know, forced her physically or maybe been so threatening or she could have been so scared for her life.
Starting point is 01:08:18 She was like, you know, I got to suck this dick. You know what I mean? Which, you know, still doesn't mean she's consenting or wants to do this willingly, right? Put his penis in my mouth. And after he got enough of that, he put me on the bed and you know this was all a struggle. I had said no and I said no even though I was thinking that and so it was the hardest

She couldn't fully retell the story because she's either getting emotional or kind of like traumatically triggered by some of the details. Okay. A struggle. I had said no. And I said no, even though I was thinking that.
Starting point is 01:09:21 And so it was the hardest. Yeah, this is too hard. I remember he got dressed and he knew what he did. And so, you know, I just kind of escorted him out the door. And then he, I wasn't going to do anything about it. You know, sometimes when you're with the person for a long time, it's hard for you to realize that they're being the perpetrator,
Starting point is 01:09:56 even though you know it, you don't want to admit it, and there's so much going through your mind. But then he started coming at me if I tell anybody, you know, he'll use everybody he knows to destroy me, which he basically has. And then he started making other threats, threats against my life, threats. You know, he
Starting point is 01:10:22 just was so worried that it would get out, and I wasn't going to do anything. But when he kept calling me at work, and when he kept you know, just very aggressively behaving, and I could see it wasn't going to go away, and he said he was going to
Starting point is 01:10:38 destroy me and he was going to kill me and he told me he was watching me and I just went and got a protective order. I'd had enough. and unfortunately shortly after he docks me and my address got out and I had somebody stopped by my apartment which had a door that led right to the side. It was basically on the sidewalk and somebody came up to my door and said, shut up the butt, screamed it at the top of their left and I had my daughter in there right there and I was like, oh no, no, no, no, no. And so I went in and I drive. because also at my house, not my apartment, my house, at my house, they, somebody came to
Starting point is 01:11:23 my house and sat up front of, in the driveway while my daughter was there alone. Someone came to my house, someone came to my apartment. And I, after my daughter called me, that's when I went straight, straight there. So after you rescinded the restraining order, was there any other? Was there any other kind of like was there any other weird stuff or did it kind of just die down it died down i tried to move on with my life um we may have talked i think once or twice um but then he started going on television he came to my job turn of broadcasting went on tv at cnn and it was my job to put the videos from up to YouTube for CNN. That was part of my job. So I'm putting up this video. And here I see Shannon at my job talking about domestic violence and the co-host mentioned that,
Starting point is 01:12:27 oh, you had one that was just totally dropped, made it look like the police dropped it, you know, not that I had gone down and withdrawn it. It created a picture that wasn't accurate. And that was a very hostile work environment. I'm going to ask something that might be a little sensitive or might sound insensitive, I should say. But I'm going to go ahead and ask it because it's a question that I'm sure people are wondering. Why didn't you file a police report when he raped you? Because I was scared for my life. He said he would use it. Everybody he knows and he knows lots of police officers. So I didn't know that if I went down there, that that would be one of the people that he knows. You know, Atlanta has a problem with corruption down there. And I was too scared
Starting point is 01:13:12 to go to the police. Because when this happens, you're not, you're in a trauma mindset. You're not in a, you know, every day you and I are talking here like, oh, okay, well, maybe I should do that. No, you're trying, you're like fear for your life. You're traumatized. You're, you know, you're not thinking straight. You're having anxiety and panic attacks. Like, and I was worried that he would, you know, get a hold of this police officer and who knows what would happen. And so it was just a decision. And it's a decision a lot of rape victims make to not go to the police. They always say the woman is crazy.
Starting point is 01:13:50 You know, hey, I might be at this point after everything I've dealt with. But back then, no. No. It's definitely not crazy. And to see him paint me the way that he's, he did. First off, I'm not somebody crawling out of the woodwork to talk about my connection with him. Like he insinuated in his statement. I've been out. I've been suing him. What's your message to his latest accuser who's been doxing? What would you say to her if you can send a message to her?
Starting point is 01:14:24 I pray for you. I have been there. I've been dealing with this for 15 years, so I know what you're going through. Okay. All right. Now, my man, Stephen A. Smith, he went on Big Boy, and remember I told you, Stephen A. Smith was doing this in a very shrewd way. He was backtracking from Shannon Sharp. He was criticizing him not directly, but he was still criticizing him. He used Trigger Wars. So I'm uncomfortable with some of how Shannon Sharp. He didn't really say Shannon. He says Shannon's lawyer. But if you're criticizing the lawyer, the lawyers operating on behalf of Shannon.
Starting point is 01:15:20 So you're basically talking about Shannon Sharp. You just won't say it directly because you understand Shannon Sharp has this cultural cachet still. And people, a lot of people within the audience that you enjoy the benefit of that he still has, they don't believe that chick. So you don't want to just say, man, fuck Shannon. but you have them bosses at ESPN and you're on that side of it and also you know you got to be clean because you're going to run for president
Starting point is 01:15:45 at one point or supposedly. So it's only fitting that he goes on a cultural show, Big Boy. And now he's on Big Boy Show. He's now talking about Shannon, but it's a very different tone. He's now mentioning, oh, I think some niggas was hating on Shannon.

But I feel about Shannon Sharp, the way I feel about Ryan Clark, the way I feel about Marcus Spears, the way I feel about any of my teammates at ESPN. I mean, we have a great, great group of folks, and it's a genuine friendship with one another.
Starting point is 01:19:16 And I got a lot of love for Shannon and getting to know him. I haven't known Shannon all of these years the way that I've known the others. I've met him in passing and stuff like that. And then, you know, we became friends once I went and got him and brought him on board at ESPN. And I'm very proud that I brought him on board because I think he's done an exceptional job for us. Um, his effort was contagious.
Starting point is 01:19:39 He never cheated us. He was, he always came on the air, always ready, always enthused about performing and doing his job and making sure he contributed to the ratings, which he did in a very profound fashion. And I'm incredibly grateful to him for that. When I saw the story come out, obviously, I was alarmed like everybody else. Um, you know, it's, it's, it's, it's nine 58. On Monday morning, we got a show at 10 o'clock. And then the story comes out about the allegations against him. That was very alarming.
Starting point is 01:20:16 I didn't know until two minutes before show. And so when you dealing with something like that, it takes on a life of its own. And on one hand, you got to be very, very sensitive to him from the standpoint that he is profoundly claiming his innocence. but then in the same breath, you're looking at the stuff his lawyers put out and you're like, that ain't helping.
Starting point is 01:20:42 I hate that Stephen A. Keep saying that. Yo, Stephen A, let me tell you this. Today, I'll chat. You know what my day consisted of today? I had to talk to my dog by the attorney. I had to talk to my other attorney. I was on the phone with lawyers for two and a half hours today, bro.
Starting point is 01:21:03 It's not fun. They brought up every single thing. They look out for me. Everything they bring up, you know what they say? Academics, what do you want to do? My lawyers can't do nothing without me telling them. I paid them. Matter of fact, you know what hurt today?

So I'm thinking about, I'm like, yo, so we're on like a group calls, like three of them. I'm like, well, each of them are charging like $1,000 per hour. Starting point is 01:30:27 What I do know is that he has emphatically and profoundly proclaimed his innocence from a legal and liable perspective in terms of, you know, not assaulting or raping or doing anything like that to anybody. He is emphatic that he is innocent of those things. But the court of public opinion is what the Disney's of the world and others concerned themselves with. That's a more immediate issue. And unfortunately, that has worked against him at this particular moment in time. So I'm hopeful this will all go away. I'm hopeful that I'll have my brother back on the airwaves talking football next season.
Starting point is 01:31:09 I don't know if that's going to happen or not because we don't know what else we're going to learn and what Disney's going to be comfortable or uncomfortable with or anything like that. But you also have to remember where the relationship really originated in terms of he and I. He was pushed out at Fox. And I know there were folks there that wanted that to be the end of his career. And I wasn't going to let that happen because I remember. how it folks tried to do it to me in 2009 and I was blessed and fortunate to be a brother in a position where I could do something about it where I didn't have that luxury of having
Starting point is 01:31:42 that. I ain't going to lie. Stephen A. Smith is a, he's a company man. I will never call him a snake because I think he's made his intentions and his POV very clear. But even when he's talking about Shannon and Shannon isn't a fight for his life, you see how he brought the conversation around back to him. But yeah, I did help this nigga out. Right now, judges deciding whether to keep Lynn Price in custody
Starting point is 03:36:38 after prosecutors shared concerns that he threatened a witness or potential jurors. KPRC2's Bryce Newberry live in the newsroom after hours in the courtroom this morning. Bryce. Yeah, Lisa and Andy for the former Turkey Leghut owner, federal prosecutors say the turkeys have come home to roost. They say for years, Lynn Price has tried to keep his hands clean of crimes, paying off others to do the dirty work, and they want to keep him in custody. During a more than two-hour hearing, an FBI agent testified that Price paid $1,400 to have his ex-business partner's bar 5015 blown up nearly five years ago. This is surveillance video from that early morning in June of 2020 when masks.
Starting point is 03:37:17 So the reason why this is like some like power or like some crazy like empire type of shit, the guy who owns this turkey leg spot. paid for people to like burn down like a competitor, right? Not only that, they're selling weed in the back. Like, like this is a turkey leg hut was like a restaurant. They were selling weed in turkey leg hut packages. It's crazy. Most men poured gasoline all over the patio before that fire
Starting point is 03:37:49 that then caused an explosion and destroyed the building. An indictment unsealed last week alleges that Lynn Price orchestrated this plan, The owner of that bar allegedly told FBI agents he initially planned to bring Lynn Price into that business, but then decided not to. The owner allegedly turned down a box of cash. Lin Price brought him to be part of the ownership team. And then when Bar 5015 started selling crawfish, apparently using the turkey leg hut's supplier, the owner said Lynn Price called screaming and hollering and threatened to blow the place up. So in the past, Lynn Price went to federal prison on tax fraud-related charges. Once he got out on supervised release, prosecutors allege that he's been involved in other criminal activity, including paying a co-defendant in this arson case to steal vehicles and heavy machinery.
Starting point is 03:38:38 The FBI agent testified under oath that same co-defendant admitted to bringing truckloads of hydro marijuana from California that would be stored at the turkey leg hut and then got sold at the restaurant. Prosecutors alleged Lynn Price got the proceeds and gave some of the money to that co-defendant. And while he's not charged connected to those allegations specifically, Price's attorney argues he is not a danger to the community. He's actually helped the community after natural disasters. Mr. Lindo Price deserves a
Starting point is 03:39:21 bond on for various reasons. One being that he's not a dangerous community. You heard multiple testimony as if he paid people to go burn down his competitor's store. I think he is a danger. It relates to his community involvement, the things that he does for the community. But more importantly, the co-defendants that are on his indictment have all been given a bond. So where's that as for equity and asking for a bond similar to the other people on his indictment. The federal judge ended this hearing by saying there's a lot to think about and she's going to chew on it. We don't yet know when she'll make a decision about keeping Lynn Price in custody. And Bryce, we understand Lynn Price is accused of another arson in this current indictment.
Starting point is 03:40:04 What did you find out about that? Yeah, Andy, in April of 2020, prosecutors say he paid a co-defendant to steal a 1975 Chevy Nova because Lynn Price wanted the engine out of it. But once they took that truck to the mechanic, they found out it had been stolen from a police officer who owned it. It was then found burned near railroad tracks and a retention pond. Now, around both of these alleged arsons, prosecutors say call record show the two men were in touch. And Bryce, we know you sat in court throughout the morning. What was Price's demeanor like in court today? And what do we know about what happens next? Lisa, Lynn Price was still handcuffed and
Starting point is 03:40:38 shackled. He was wearing an olive green jumpsuit. He had many people there to support him and seemed hopeful at the beginning of this hearing. He was nodding at them as they came in. But then as the hearing went on, he seemed to keep his head down. And then at times when some of these new allegations came out and were discussed, he would appear to react and shake his head. He was then taken to- Yeah, yeah, this shit is like a real-life movie of power or like version of power. They would blow up their competitor's shit. They were selling drugs instead of food.
Starting point is 03:41:06 Well, I mean, they were selling food too. But they were operating in a crazy criminal way and also being flashy and over-the-top, which is kind of like, ridiculous if they thought they weren't going to get caught. You get what I'm saying? So if you ask me, I think there's going to be a great Netflix series made about this,

Today we're diving into the shocking fall of Lindell Price, the former co-owner of Houston's renowned Turkey Leghut who was arrested and indicted for allegedly orchestrating an arson that destroyed Bar 5015 in 2020. According to a U.S. attorney, officials believe the fire was intentionally set, and if found guilty, Lindell faces up to 20 years in prison. This case not only highlights a personal downfall, but it's just another incident in the never-ending drama that has come from the Turkey Leg Hut. Established in 2017 in Houston's third ward, the Turkey Leg Hut quickly became a culinary sensation, known for its unique take on turkey legs and vicarage.
Starting point is 03:43:04 vibrant atmosphere. Co-founded by Lindell and his then wife, Nicaea, the restaurant attracted celebrities and food enthusiasts alike, symbolizing entrepreneurial success within the being overseen. A nearby establishment owned by Steve Rogers, who was also the co-owner of the Turkey Leghut. Initial evidence led investigators to believe that the explosion was intentionally set. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the incident sent shockwaves throughout the community. It's kind of been surreal. A tough hit back to back for bar 50-15 owner Stephen Rogers, the well-known business owner
Starting point is 03:43:42 in Houston socialite, just climbing back into business following nearly a two-month-long shutdown during the pandemic. And now this. It really hurts us all to see the boards, the nails, you know, you're just lightly stepping over things. A fire to his bar set on purpose caused the massive explosion, according to fire investigators. We just had an explosion and a 5,100 block an Al-Media. A splintered wood and debris covered Al-Meta Road.
Starting point is 03:44:10 It's almost like losing a child, you know, almost, because it's been all the texts I've been getting is, the first thing is sorry for your loss. You know, my codonis goes out to you. This loss bringing a range of emotions to Rogers. So with disbelief, then it went to amazement. Then when we got to see different views of what happened, you know, it was kind of, you know, hurtful at that point. A hurtful, heartbreaking to see his space that was just thriving hours earlier, blown to pieces. Put a lot of work into building out of space where people be proud of. Rogers has played a big role in guiding in protecting Almeda's growth,
Starting point is 03:44:48 a partner of Turkey Leghut and supporter of their neighboring businesses, all black owned, all working to keep the identity in this historical African-American neighborhood, but adding new vibes. I think it's good for the community. You know, we was building up a lot of good energy on Almeda, this place, with a martini bar, with legends, turkey leg hut, reggae hut, green seed. The following month, Steve filed a lawsuit against Lindell and Nekia alleging financial mismanagement and was later awarded $931,000. This lawsuit, plus other financial troubles, contributed to Nika filing for Chapter 11. bankruptcy in 2024. She said the move was to help reposition and strengthen the turkey
Starting point is 03:45:36 leg hut. However, it permanently closed later that year. The explosion at Bar 5015 faded into distant memory, but in April 2025, federal authorities arrested Lindell and two accomplices, charging them with conspiracy to commit arson and related offenses. Begin right now with a major development in the explosion of Bar 5015, five years ago that was caught on camera. That popular. spot blew up five years ago, scattering debris all over the place. Yeah, and this afternoon three arrests in this case, including the former owner of the embattled Turkey Leghut. Lindell, Lynn Price, is accused of paying people to send that bar up in flames. Price and his alleged accomplices appearing in federal court in the last two hours.
Starting point is 03:46:21 Jason Miles, live there with the latest details, Jason. Hey there, guys, yeah, I just got word that Lynn Price will be held in federal custody until a detention hearing next Thursday. Meanwhile, two alleged accomplices heard charges against them this afternoon before being released pending their next court dates here in federal court. Take a look. Lindell Lynn Price's indictment is for conspiracy to commit arson of a commercial building that bar and conspiracy to use an interstate facility to commit arson of a vehicle. Now according to investigators, Price plotted to set fire to bar 5015, which was owned by another former co-owner, of the Turkey Leghut.
Starting point is 03:47:03 I covered that fire nearly five years ago, which resulted in a big explosion, as you mentioned, at the bar out on Almeida Road. The FBI says Lynn Price allegedly recruited and paid co-defendants Armani Williams and John Lee Price, no relation, and others to pour gas in the bar, then set it on fire.
Starting point is 03:47:23 In a separate incident, Lynn Price accused of paying John Lee Price and others to set fire to a stolen car. If convicted, it's gonna be a good movie, Lendale faces up to 20, years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine. Despite the arson, Steve was able to rebuild Barr 5015 and it's thriving.
Starting point is 03:47:44 But let's take it back to Lindell. So he is innocent until proven guilty, but it's clear that he has a long journey ahead and unrelated drug case over in Mississippi, which his attorney did not want. Man, I think he's a gangster, man. I think he was doing everything.
