The MLB season pushed back at least two weeks, spring training done with.
As of today, it is still Thursday, March 12th, and we still plan on having our regular Friday, March 13th episode.
But we'll give you this little bonus pot, a little reaction here, Adam Azer and Scott White.
And Scott, got any fantasy reaction to this?
Um, it's, I guess I'm speechless. I guess that's what that reaction.
I guess so.
No, it's difficult since we don't really have a true timeline, at least two weeks could.
I mean, it's actually indefinite, right?
Yeah.
Maybe it's as little as two weeks.
We're certainly going to be keeping our finger on the pulse.
We're going to be, keep churning out draft content and keep giving you something to look forward to.
But we just don't really, like, I feel like, I feel like,
big reason we're putting a pause on things right now. The leagues are putting a pause. It's just
because they don't have enough information yet. So they need this timeout to slow the spread
while information is gathered. And then once we have a better idea what we're dealing with,
we're going to see these leagues start putting together a plan to return to action, a concrete
plan to return to action. And we'll obviously know more then. I really hope it's only two weeks.
if that would mean that things are good for America, obviously.
They're going hand in hand here.
So I am skeptical that it'll be just the two weeks.
I mean, the season is less than two weeks away.
The season's what, exactly two weeks away?
Yeah, yep.
Two weeks from today.
It was scheduled to begin.
So I have a hard time seeing it starting in four weeks,
but fingers crossed.
I certainly, certainly hope that happens.
I say this because people are still drafting right now.
And if we're going to think that the season at some point is going to start,
Justin Verlander could be a second round pick again.
You know, Aaron Judge could be a fourth round pick or something like that.
John Carlos Dana might not miss any time.
Yeah.
Yeah, to me it still feels too early to make those determinations.
I understand people are still drafting,
and you're just going to have to give it your best guess.
But since we don't really have any idea when it's going to begin,
And, you know, there's still a chance.
Some of those players are still hurt.
But more time obviously helps their chances of contributing right away
whenever the season does start.
It's so strange, though, because you've got, you were talking about on this, today, this morning show,
you've got to build your pitchers up, you know?
Like, I don't know how to react to this.
Right.
I just don't know.
It's scary.
It's bad.
Pitchers don't want their routines messed with.
and one way or another, it's going to be kind of a funky season when it gets started, I think.
And John Heyman was tweeting out that it sounds like players are going to continue to work out
with the hope of remaining in game shape so we don't have to have a new spring training.
But I, you know, at some point, if this goes on so long that it doesn't make sense to keep them there forever,
then we'll have to reassess when that point comes.
But my reaction in terms of your draft plans is if you haven't drafted yet and you can delay it, just delay it.
I don't think whenever it is ready to start back again, it's going to be like, yeah, we're going to start playing tomorrow and you won't have a chance to reschedule another draft.
If you've already banked a draft, if it's already in the bag, then...
Okay, just leave that as it is.
I understand it changes the evaluation of certain players,
but you've already played your hand at this point.
And to back out of that draft,
it would tick me off if I was in that scenario
and it would make it so you're always comparing
the team that could have been to the team that actually is.
Yeah, but I can understand people saying,
hey, let's just do it over.
I passed up on this player
because I didn't think I was going to have him for the start of the regular season, whatever.
So obviously you're a call, do what you got to do.
I'm in a draft right now.
It is an extended draft, three hours on the clock from 9 to 5 and then untimed after that,
untimed on the weekend usually takes about a week and a half to complete.
And I paused it today and I said, do you guys want to keep going?
I thought everybody's going to say, let's just suspend it until we find out more.
But no, they want to keep going.
So we'll keep drafting.
Well, so far, only three votes are in.
but it seems like people want to
want to keep going.
So we'll keep drafting.
Do what you got to do.
And here's the thing
that you should know about this show.
We're going to keep recording.
We're going to, for the time being,
have daily episodes.
Because one, people are still drafting now.
And two, you might be stuck at home and bored out of your mind.
So let's give you some content.
That's going to do it for this bonus episode.
But tomorrow we'll come back with our Friday,
the 13th episode.
Ooh.
And we'll just talk fantasy baseball
and take your mind off of all the news, the world news.
For Scott White, I'm Adamazer.
We'll talk to you tomorrow.
Have a good one.
