The first 2026 edition of Prospects to Stash.
Up next on Fantasy Baseball Today Express.
Welcome into FBT Express on Wednesday, April 1st, April Fool's Day.
Be very careful out there.
I am, for example, joined by Scott White,
and we're going to do these Prospects to Stash episodes
a little bit differently this year.
We're going to start with the prospects on the periphery.
Then we'll do a little countdown of the top five prospects to stash.
For those who have been here before,
Prospects on the periphery.
These are five names that are in the news.
They're doing something that you should know right now.
And those five are.
Colt Emerson of the Mariners,
the $95 million man,
Robbie Snelling of the Marlins,
Sam Antinacci with the White Sox,
James Tibbs with the Dodgers,
Robert Gasser with the Brewer.
Scott, what do we have on those five?
First of all, we only have a few games of AAA action.
That's the only level.
That's begun.
Play in the minor.
So Pickensworth Slim here, but Colt Emerson, as you pointed out, just signed a big contract.
So the service time considerations are off the table for him.
Mariners don't have to worry about that when the time comes to Ronum.
He's already hit a Homer.
He's already doubled.
Last I checked, he was hitting the ball 93 miles per hour on average at AAA.
So a lot of good signs there.
The reason he's only on the periphery despite the contract.
and the performance is J.P. Crawford starts a rehab assignment.
So if he's coming back soon, I don't know why the Mariners would choose now to introduce Emerson to the Major League roster.
So he remains on the periphery for me.
Robbie Snelling, his first start this year, one hit in four innings.
That's the good news.
The bad news is low whiff rate, less than 10% on the swinging strikes in that first start.
which wouldn't count for much on its own,
but velocity also down in that first start.
More than a mile per hour on the fast belt
was very close to where we saw Robbie Snelling's velocity in 2024,
which was not a very good year.
It ended up getting him traded from the Padres to the Marlins.
And this all comes on the heels of a really rough spring for Robbie Snelling.
So while the stat line from the first start itself looks fine,
under the hood, some concerning signs here.
Not freaking out yet.
It's just one start.
But when you combine it with the spring,
I don't know.
Robbie Snelling might not make as hard of a push
for a major league debut this year as we thought.
We'll keep observing it.
Sam Antanachi.
Now, this is a good news situation.
He is a force of nature.
Anybody who paid close attention to the World Baseball Classic
saw it on display,
he hit a home run, drew out of the park home run.
He hit a little league home run, a triple that allowed him to come all the way to score on a throwing error.
And just one of the coolest plays, heads-up baseball plays I've ever seen,
where a fly ball was hit to center field, the runner, a true major leaguer, Joey Ortiz,
was rounding second base, coming from first,
rounding second base,
and kept going because rather than Antinacci reacting the way
an infielder normally went on a fly ball,
he dove for the fly ball.
Like it was nowhere near him.
He just faked out Joey Ortiz.
So Joey Ortiz kept going,
Antonacci ended up doubling up at first base.
Really cool play and just shows the head on this guy's
shoulders, the kind of baseball instincts he has.
He is a high-octane player, a heady player, and has some pretty impressive talent here, too.
Reach base at a 433 clip last year.
Already this year, it's 538, obviously a tiny sample, but like the guy knows how to get on
base.
He stole a ton of bases last year.
We're seeing some power.
Already, two home runs at AAA to go with three steals.
And that 538 on base percentage, six walks to just one strikeout.
So I don't know how long the white socks can hold this guy back.
They seem set up the middle with Colson Montgomery and Chase Midroth.
But they got to make a place for Antonacci at some point because he's doing some incredible things.
James Tibbs also doing incredible things.
He is nine for 17 with three home runs already after a four homer spring and is hitting the ball incredibly.
hard. James Tibbs originally with the Giants, a first round pick of theirs, was a year before
last, then got traded to the Red Sox and the Raphael Devers deal, then got traded to the Dodgers
in the Dust and May deal, I believe it was. So you would think third organization in that short
amount of time, not much to see here, even though he's a first round pick, clubs, they kept passing
on him. Well, the Dodgers may have unlocked the potential here because already seven home runs
this calendar year, spring training included James Tibbs. And then there,
Robert Gasser, first AAA start this year, struck at 11 and 5 and 2 3rd scoreless innings, 17 whiffs on 87 pitches.
This is a guy who was coming back from Tommy John surgery, but was looked like he was an emerging member of the Brewer's rotation before then.
Robert Gasser, his last healthy season in 2023 had 11K per 9 at AAA.
Not out of this world stuff, but just a guy.
knows how to pitch and he gets 11 strikeouts in the first AAA start this year.
I think Robert Gasser is a name to keep in mind for a potential midseason call-up.
Man, just what the Dodgers needed.
Another awesome prospect.
They might have done it again.
Wow, they can't keep getting away with this.
Let's take a quick break.

Let's count down the top five prospects to stash and the best mustache of the must stash prospects.
Number five, Peyton Toley from the Red Sox.
Yeah, so five and four are kind of weak right now.
I don't think there are any runaway contenders, but Tolly, you know,
So-So first started AAA, but his stuff is incredible, the fastball especially,
and I think it's a short path to the rotation.
Anybody gets hurt in the Red Sox rotation, he'll be up immediately.
So you're going to want to keep Peyton Tolly's name in mind.
Number four here, someone who had a lot of hard hit balls.
spring, Ryan Walshmidt with the D-backs.
Yeah, specifically, Ryan Walshmit hits six balls harder than 110 miles per hour this
spring, including a max of 115.6.
He wasn't even around that long in the spring.
And his minor league season last year showed incredible play discipline.
I was most worried about the power because he spent his time at such hitter-friendly
leagues.
I thought that might be a fake out.
But seeing those exit velocities this spring, it's not.
Already they've lost their DH, the diamond.
back's Pavan Smith.
They call it up a relative unknown Jose Fernandez
and he homer twice in his first game.
So I don't know that they're looking to replace him anytime soon.
And Lorda Scuriel's on the mend from a knee injury.
But Paveen Smith's down, Walsh Smith.
That's one fewer hurdle.
He has to clear Ryan Walshman on his way of the major.
So he's fourth here.
The number three prospect to stash,
someone who also had a great spring training,
is Charlie Condon with the Rockies.
Yes.
and he homered twice in his second game at AAA.
He is impacting the ball the way he was expected to all along.
The Rockies took him third overall a couple years ago
after a record-setting season at Georgia for power, for home runs.
Through his first three games at AAA, 96 mile per hour,
average X velocity, 112.6 max.
And, you know, the Rockies are currently starting Edward
Julian at DH. So I know
T.J. Rumfield at first base, maybe he's
blocking content because he's off to a hot start.
I don't know how long, how much
of a leash they're going to give Julian with as many
times as he failed in the majors already.
The number two prospect to stash right
now is someone with light tower
power. That is Bryce Eldridge
from the Giants.
He does have light tower power. Has it done
anything notable at AAA yet, but I
think once he does, it's going to
be a short trip to the majors. They basically
left the DH spot open for him.
and he just didn't capitalize on it this spring.
It was a little rough around the edges still,
had some strikeout issues.
But I imagine we'll see him within a couple weeks.
And Scott,
I wonder who could be the number one prospect of stash right now in baseball?
Who could it be?
It's Connor Griffin, obviously.
Don't drop Connor Griffin.
He'll be up soon enough.
Yeah, I saw he's off to a hot start already too.
He's got like a bunch of doubles.
He's hitting the ball hard.
I think he has a couple steals in there as well.
We've been seeing.
I saw a low, low, low swinging,
strike rate. That's good. Yeah, we've been
seeing a bunch of these prospect
extensions the past couple days.
Why don't we get one more for Connor
Griffin? I think that would be pretty cool. We can
fast track him to the majors.
Either way, I think he's probably up
sometime in April. Let's
not drag this out till May, all right? Pirates,
let's get Connor Griffin up. For more
