Weekend, waiver wire ads from the long Labor Day weekend. Next on Fantasy Baseball Today Express. Welcome into FBT Express on Tuesday, September 8th. I am Frank Stamphill, joined by Chris Towers. Let's start off with the latest Waverwire hitters. And Chris, the A's are doing their thing. Zach Gelloff, two more steals on Monday over his last six games, three homers, four steals, all the way up to 78% rostered,

second third and outfield eligible. do think he's still a name for those in shallower leagues. And then you drop down a little bit. Henry Bolte is on fire. He had a home run and three steals on Monday, and he's crushing it over the past month. Still only 46% rostered. The other name here is Jeff McNeil,

who's having a big second half. He is 37% rostered, first second, and outfield eligible. What size leagues would you be looking to add these guys if they're available anywhere? Zach Gelloff, Henry Bolte, and Jeff McNeil. Yeah, Gelloff's tough because the limitations in his game just kind of are what they are. He's improved the play discipline this season, but it's never going to be a strength of his game.

That's always going to limit his ceiling in a points league. He does have, I think it's second, third and outfield eligibility. That kind of flexibility is nice to have, but I'm not sure even at third base. He's a viable starter in a head-to-head points league. Maybe if they have a stretch of games coming up a home, you can justify it. but I think he's still pretty fringe there. Bolte is definitely doing some interesting things. He's got a super well-rounded skill set for fantasy.

You know, there's power, there's speed. He's a really good athlete. He hits the ball hard. I think what we're seeing right now is probably him playing above his head, though, because it's a 3-14 batting average over the past 34 games. That's like a 400 babbip as well, even for a guy who hits the ball as hard as he does. Even for a guy with his kind of athleticism, that's not going to prove sustainable.

If it was 340, that's still be a really high number, and he'd probably be hitting more like 255 in that stretch. I think he's a good player. I think he's a very interesting long-term piece for the athletics, especially as they try to ring a little more consistency out of that skill set. But for now, I don't think he's someone I want to add in most points leagues, but that's still at 46% rostered. Leave some roto in category leagues

where Henry Bolt is probably still available and worth adding. A couple fighting fish here from your Miami Marlins, Herberto Hernandez had a big game on Sunday. Two for four with a sock in the shoe. He has started 23 straight games. And on the season now, he's up to 24 homers and 11 steals,

only 45% rostered. And Javier Sinoja has started 16th straight over his last 21 games, 375. Four homers, three steals, the OPS around 1,04% rostered. Chris, do you believe in these two names here? Herberto Hernandez and Javier Sanoha. Yeah, did Javier Sanoha like Monstars, Otto Lopez?

Yeah. So I feel like the two of them are having one great season put together. And it's like right when Lopez stopped hitting, Sanoa started, I think with Sinoja, it's mostly just a really high babb. He does make a lot of contact, which helps. But I don't really think it's a super. dynamic skill set overall. Hernandez, though, if you can live with a lower batting average, it'll probably be in like

the 245-250-ish range moving forward. I think he's just a good hitter. He makes a lot of hard contact. He's got the 24 homers do not seem like a fluke. He's playing every day after he wasn't early on. So that 24 homers, the pace is even better. I mean, it legit looks like a 30 plus, maybe 35 homer pace. and there's a little bit of speed there.

So I think Alberto Hernandez is a really, really interesting third or fourth outfielder in basically every league. And then we have a couple catchers here. Mickey Gasper, homered again on Friday over his last 19 games. He is hitting 327 with eight home runs. He has started in eight straight with Wilson Catreras in the IL. He's 34% rostered. And welcome back to Kyle Teal, who returned on Friday. He homered on Sunday.

He hit a three-run shot. he is 23% rostered. Chris, who do you like more in a two catcher league perspective? Mickey Gasper or Kyle Teal. Well, Teal's a better player, but I kind of think it's got to be Gasper because he has been just so hot lately. And what's crazy is the underlying numbers back it up. This has come out of nowhere. This is a guy who I don't think has ever hit more than 12 homers in this season.

He's got eight in the last 19 games. and there was a stretch in AAA down there. And I think he might have homered at least once or twice in that AAA stretch too. He's got a 21% barrel rate, 91 mile per hour average. I've lost seeing that span. I don't think it's real. But I've seen no indication that Wilson Contreras is coming off the aisle anytime soon. I think Mickey Gasper is going to stay in the lineup.

I think this is the definition of a hot hand play, but he's a good one. All right, let's take a quick break. And we'll be back right after this. Welcome back, FBT Express going over. waiver wire ads from the long Labor Day weekend. And over on the pitching side of things, the shallow names that continue to pitch well, we have Tyler Malley,

Walbert Arania, Shane Baza, and Jared Jones had a big start. Six shutout innings, nine strikeouts, 21 whiffs on 91 pitches, 19 of those on the slider. How would you rank these shallow league names rest of season, Jones, Boz, Arania, and Tyler Malley? Yeah, Jared Jones is clearly the most talent.

of this group. And if that's what we were just chasing, there's no question that's going to be the top, the top drafted of this group next season. But he only threw 91 pitches in this one. That's a season high for him. They've mostly had him in the mid-80s. There just haven't been a lot of six-inning starts. Maybe they'll just give him the last three starts with a longer leash, see what he can do. I would love to see it. But I don't have a ton of faith in that. So I do still think you have to take Tyler Malley as a high-hand play over him and probably Walbert Arainia as well. Just, man, if the control can even be passable for this guy, I think he's going to be a really good pitcher. And I think it's only one walk in his past two starts now. So that's a really good sign for Walbert Orania. It's a very small sample size, but he's doing what he needs to do. So I think that was very impressive. Baz, I view him very similar to Trevor Rogers, where I don't really understand why they've been so good when they have been.

and I don't really trust it all that much, but they're okay players. I would put boss at the bottom of this one, though. Can I interest you in either of these post-hype pitchers? Jonah Tong had a mixed outing here in his return to the Mets. He was at the Marlins, five innings, four hits, four runs, seven strikeouts to one walk. He had 16 swinging strikes on 87 pitches.

He also allowed a three-run homer to Graham Pauley, of all people. And then Emmett Sheehan on Monday, five and two thirds, one run, 10 strikeouts to one walk here against the Reds. He had 18 whiffs on 82 pitches. He did some things differently in the start as well. Can I interest you in either post-type pitcher, Sheehan or Jonah Tong?

Well, it actually makes perfect sense that Jonathan gave up a home run to Grand Polly, because Grand Polly was in AAA like five days ago, and Jonah Tong was struggling at AAA this season. So that's no surprise. I still think he's a really interesting talent. And outside of a couple of bad, had pitches. I thought he pitched really well today.

But the command is just not where it needs to be for Jonah Tong. It's a lot of uncompetitive fastball. It's a lot of changeups in the dirt. He just isn't quite there yet, although you can see the interesting pieces there. So, I do think Emmett Sheen has to be ahead of Jonah Tong on your priority list.

I don't know if he's going to stay in the rotation. I would guess he will, given the injuries in their staff, but it was a disaster before this. He got sent down to AAA and he deserved it. He has an ERA over five for the season, but we know how talented Emmett Sheehan can be.

He had 18 whiffs on 82 pitches. He struck out 10 in 5 and 2 thirds innings. This is what he was supposed to be. And maybe he'll do it again a couple more times down the stretch. I don't have a ton of faith in it, but I think he has to be ahead of Jonah Tong at least. All right. For more extensive fantasy baseball coverage,
