Let's help set those lineups for week two.
Up next on Fantasy Baseball Today Express.
Welcome into FPC Express on Saturday, March 28th.
I am Frank Stample joined by Scott White.
And let's help you set those lineups for week two.
A first look at the schedule for next week.
26 teams have six games and there are four with seven games next week.
The D-backs, Braves, Mets and Giants.
Let's get into two-star pitchers, Scott.
And we'll start with some of the fringier names.
Would you start or sit, Edward Cabrera,
coming off a bad spring, doing things with the pitch mixed out.
We don't like, but the matchups are pretty good here
against the Angels and at the Guardians.
The matchups are very good against the Angels and Guardians.
Even though I'm not sold on Edward Cabrera,
the season he had last year,
the pitch selection he showed this spring.
kind of reverting back to what he was doing earlier
in his Marlins' career over-emphasizing the foreseamer.
I don't know, maybe it was just spring experimentation.
He's rostered virtually everywhere.
For as widely drafted as Edward Cabrera was,
for him to have matchups this good in a two-star week,
I think I'd have to call a must-start.
It could blow up in your face, but you drafted him.
Like, you got to make use of them.
if with matchups this good or else what was the point.
Right.
Next up we have Ron Hare Suarez.
Bad final start in spring training.
Ten earned runs in that one.
And some tough matchups here at the Astros home against the Padres.
Are you starting Suarez, his first two starts with the Red Sox?
Ah, Padres matchup doesn't worry me.
Yeah, it was drafted too high for him, for you not to consider him a must start when he's making two starts.
Okay. The only other name I had on this list is Roki Sasaki. Do not start him.
His matchups are against the Guardians and at the Nationals.
It's great matchups, but terrible spring. He's 19% started.
That number should be even lower. Do not use Rokie Sassaki.
Not just terrible spring. I mean, we've never seen him have a good start yet, right?
That sounds right.
Did he have a single good start last year? It looked good in relief in the playoffs.
But yeah.
Can't trust him even with those.
matchups. Let's continue on with
two-star pitchers that you can add in
stream for next week, Scott. Who are
your favorites? He had a couple
good starts last year to be fair, but
not that many.
My favorite two-star pitchers
are Cody Ponce.
I came really close to calling
a must start to putting him in that category
of my two-star pitcher rankings, but
he is only 68% rostered.
So,
I decided not to.
He gets the Rockies in Toronto.
and the White Sox.
Can't ask for much better
matchups than that.
Pretty good.
MVP in the Korean League last year,
had a great spring.
I think you run them out there for sure.
Ryan Weathers at Seattle
versus the Marlins revenge game.
Oh.
Right?
Yeah.
Didn't think of that, did you?
Didn't have a good spring,
but he has good stuff.
Let's try him out for the two-star week.
Braxton Ashcraft.
I think there's a lot of upside here
and a high floor too,
because he's such a good groundball pitcher at Cincinnati.
A little scary there, but again, he's a groundball guy.
And then against the Orioles, you know, those could be better matchups,
but I think just the fact he's making two starts and is available
and enough leagues to qualify for this list.
Makes me recommend Braxton Ashcraft.
Kyle Harrison, widely available up and down spring,
but there's still some potential there.
And he's getting to work with the Brewers Pitching Lab for the first time.
He gets the Rays and the Royals.
Those are pretty good matchups.
Chris Bassett, hopeful for a bounceback gear from him.
And he gets the Rangers and the Pirates.
So those are pretty good matchups.
Clay Holmes, Cardinals, Giants.
That's probably more of a points league play.
He and Bassett both probably more like points league plays.
If you're just looking for volume, I think the matchups are good enough.
I think they're good enough.
that you could run them out there this week.
Will Warren gets the Marlins coming off a very good spring.
I'm not sure the underlying numbers support a big breakout for Will Warren,
but that's a good enough matchup that could try him out.
And here's the real wild card, Joe Boyle,
available in like 90% of CBS Sports League.
Tremendous stuff, tons of strikeout upside.
It's always had trouble knowing where the ball was going.
and I'm not even totally sure he's starting this following.
He's taking a second turn in the raise rotation
because he's an injury fill-in for the first turn on this weekend.
Let's see.
That's on Saturday.
Taking the number two spot in the raised rotation,
but only has an injury fill-in for Ryan Pepio.
And if that start goes really poorly,
if he's walking everybody in sight,
I don't know that I want to keep poil here.
as a sleeper pitcher.
But if that goes well, he gets a lot of strikeouts,
he sticks around to make a second start.
It would be at the twins,
who I think are going to have one of the worst offenses this year.
So keep an eye on what boiled us Saturday.
You may want to start him in week two.

Let's slide over to the hitters.
And the best matchups for next week are the Blue Jee's,
FI's, Phillies, Braves, Mets, and Tigers, the worst hitter matchups,
guardians, Reds, Yankees, Padres, and Pirates.
Scott, who are your favorite sleeper hitters for week two
under 80% rostered?
Heading into the weekend, that is.
Yeah, so Danesby Swanson was,
the Cubs aren't among the teams with the five best hitter matchups,
but they just missed.
And they have three games against left-handers.
Danesby Swanson last year his batting average was 50 points higher.
His OPS about 150 points higher against lefties than righties.
Plus, he's Dansby Swanson.
He's like a 20-20 thread every year.
It's kind of surprising he even qualifies for this list.
Cars and binge, great debut on opening day.
Sacken a shoe.
Homer and Steel, that's what we call it, sock and a shoe.
Great on base skills.
You mentioned the Mets have the fourth best hitter matchups.
They're one of the few teams playing seven games.
So like binge there
The Phillies have the second best hitter matchups
Going against the Nationals and
Rockies' rotations
So I think Justin Crawford is a good play for them
Diamondbacks
One of those teams playing seven games
Gabriel Moreno is out there
Nearly half of CBS Sports Leagues
I know a lot of people in one catcher leagues
Don't need another one
But there's so much excess there
you can make the case that streaming catchers is a viable strategy.
So if you're on the fence about the guy you have, Gabriel Moreno worth a look.
I mentioned the Mets matchups already, fourth best.
Five of the seven games are against righties.
So not a bad time to play Brett Beatty.
The Rangers are scheduled to face just one lefty in their six games.
And that is very good news for a player.
who showed new upside this spring, Josh Smith.
You can play him at three of the four infield spots.
Pretty soon you'll be able to play him at all four infield spots.
But he kind of changed his approach at the play.
It was hitting the ball harder this spring.
Hit a bunch of home runs and was significantly better against righties than lefties last year.
With the Tigers having the fifth best hitter matchups,
I think Labor Torres is a good play.
I think Colt Keith is a good play,
especially since there are zero lefties on.
on the schedule.
Diamondbacks,
again, seven-game week,
Jordan Lawler,
someone you could look into.
And finally,
Mike Gistremski of the Braves,
third-best hitter matchups,
one of those four teams
playing seven games,
only two are against lefties.
Good chance he's sitting against lefties,
but he'll have the five games against righty,
so he'll play a lot this week,
had a huge spring with six home runs.
he's older. I don't know that we're going to see a breakout season for Yostrimski,
but he spent the last few years in San Francisco,
not a great place for left hand to power, and then he had this big spring.
So it could happen. He's only 13% roster.
The matchups are good enough if you need another outfielder.
You could give Yostrinsky a whirl.
