Let's get those lineups set for week four.
Up next on Fantasy Baseball Today Express.
Welcome into FPC Express on Saturday, April 11th.
I am Frank Stample joined by Scott White,
and let's start off with the week for schedule.
We have 20 teams with six games next week.
There are 10 with seven games, including the Orioles, Guardians,
Astros, Angels, Yankees, A's, pirates, mariners, Rangers, and nationals.
starters sit these two-star pitchers.
Kyle Braddish, Scott, he is off to a pretty rough start.
He gets the debacks and at the Guardians next week.
Not afraid of those matchups.
It's been an underwhelming start, but it hasn't been disastrous.
I think you run Kyle Bradish out there without hesitation.
What about Reid Detmer's?
He is at the Yankees and home against the Padres.
I could see using him in a points league with that relief pitcher eligibility,
but that's as far as I'd go.
Kate Cavali at the Pirates
Home Against the Giants
Yeah decent matchups
I'm not to the point where I trust
If you're really selling out for volume
In a points league maybe
But I think I'd pass on Cavali
In most situations
Luis Severino gets the Rangers
And the White So pretty good matchups here
Yeah
He just hasn't looked very good
I think I'd pass
And Matthew Liberator gets the Guardians
And he's at the Astros
He definitely hasn't looked good.
I think that was a big spring fake out,
him missing all those pitches on his fastball,
especially.
Haven't seen any signs of it during the regular season.
All right.
Who are some two-star pitchers
that you were looking to add and stream for next week?
A lot of two-star pitchers, actually, for this week.
It kind of crowds out the one-start pitchers
that I might be interested in because I got to fit so many two-star guys in there.
Ryan Nelson, 72% rostered.
I think he's just underrated.
I mean, the matchups are not great,
Orioles and Blue Jays,
but he just had his best start of the season
against a good Mets lineup
and has been a whip specialist
for the past year and a half.
Spark eligible,
I think you got to use them in a two-star week.
Grant Holmes,
one good matchup against the Marlins,
one not so good against the Phillies.
But again, I think he's just underrated.
He's available in nearly half of CBS leagues,
missing a ton of bats on his,
slider which is a very good pitch
a little shaky with the control
but I think good enough to use him
two-star week Joey Cantillo
I think he's very similar to Holmes
in terms of the upside and downside
not as proven throws left-handed
instead of right-handed
but I think a lot of strikeouts
maybe with some whip risk
he also has the relief pitcher eligibility
that's so coveted in points leagues
where you're more likely
to chase a two-star streamer
because the threshold to me for any individual start is much lower in a points league for that start to have been useful.
Cardinals, Orioles are as matchups, but honestly, it's just the two-start status that is intriguing here for a Kintillo.
Ryan Weathers, honestly, I might move him up this list a little after the way he looked Thursday, eight dominant innings.
Took a little off his pitches, but threw a lot more strikes, and he gets the Angels,
and Royals in his two starts.
So you love those matchups, especially to Angels,
as strikeout prone as they are.
Jeffrey Springs off to a good start.
He has those same matchups that you mentioned for Severino,
except I think Springs fastball being a little up this year
is better equipped to take advantage.
Rangers White Sox are the matchups there.
Mitch Keller.
You're getting into Points League-only territory here, I think, with Keller.
He's a lot of downside risk with the ratios
without a lot of strikeout upside.
But he's looked fine so far, can go deep into games, pretty good matchups,
nationals, and rays.
Will Warren gets the Angels and Royals, same as, same as,
Weathers.
Not as good as Weathers, but good enough, at least in Points Leagues, I think you can stream with those two starts.
Michael Burroughs been pretty shaky early on.
I still think there's a lot to like here, but I can't see myself using him outside of Points Leagues,
except in a real desperate situation.
Mariners and Cardinals, those matchups are at least pretty good,
but he's had good matchups already and hasn't really delivered on them.
And if Ryan Nelson or anybody in the D-Backs is listening to this,
here is your reminder.
60% of the time it works every time.
That's right.
Get that fastball usage up over 60% here for Ryan Nelson.
Who are some one-star streamers that you like for next week?
So only two are officially making my list here
because there are so many two-start streamers.
Braxton Ashcraft,
I think he's,
I think he's going to be a must-start before too long.
And he's coming off a great start.
Nationals is the matchup here.
So you like that.
And officially,
Reinaldo Lopez is on the list.
He'll be coming back from suspension at that point.
He looked the best he has in his,
at the start where he got suspended.
And honestly, the results have been fine across all of his starts.
Marlins are the matchups,
so that's pretty good.
If you wanted to go with Bryce Elder,
also facing the Marlins,
I think that's a fine streamer.
Kyle Harrison is facing the Marlins also.
A lot of left-handers in that lineup.
I don't know.
Maybe Harrison would make for a better choice than Lopez.
We'll see how he does over the weekend.
He's at least beginning strikeout so far.
All right, let's take a quick break.
We'll be back right after this.
Welcome back in FBT Express.
Let's slide over.
over to the hitters. The best match. Before we end to the hitters, Frank, I'm going to want to make
one change here with the pitchers. Randy Vasquez gets the Mariners. They've been struggling
offensively, strikeout prone. His fastball looks much improved. I think I would have him as
the one-start streamer choice over Reinaldo Lopez. Randy Vasquez. All right, the best hitter
matchups for week four. We have the Astros, Pirates, Guardians, White Sox, and Yankees, the worst
hitter matchups, Cubs, Brewers, Tigers, D-backs, and the Mariners. Who all
are your sleeper hitters for week number four.
T.J. Rumfield tops the list again.
The Rockies refused to face any left-handed pitchers.
I think they've faced one so far.
Next week, Slate, week four, slate.
No lefties on the schedule again,
so we don't have to worry about Rumfield sitting.
He's been an on-based machine in the early going,
delivering good power numbers.
The Rockies at least get half the week at home.
I think you've got to keep using Rumfield.
Cam Smith off to a very good start, much improved bat speed.
The Astros have the very best hitter matchups.
So I think Cam Smith makes sense.
Ryan O'Hern with the Pirates having the second best hitter matchups.
Got to get him in there.
They face two lefties but in seven games.
So there are a lot of righties on the schedule.
O'Hern's been playing every day anyway.
I'm not sure that's the platoon concern is that high.
Wilson Contreras has been heating up.
So I think he deserves a mince.
here facing some hitable pitchers.
Some tough pitchers too, but four of the six
look like pretty good matchups for the Red Sox.
I think take advantage of the hot hand play there with Contreras.
Spencer Torkelson,
he now qualifies for this list.
He's been dropped in enough leagues.
I have him here mostly because I think he deserves more patience than this.
The Tiger's matchups could be better,
but this is kind of the nature of sleeper hitters.
Would you rather start the better hitter
or would you rather start the better matchups?
I think having Torkelson fifth on this list
kind of shows where I stand on that.
It does help that four of the six pitchers
the Tigers are facing our lefties.
Torkelson had an 884 OPS against lefties last year.
Tougher lefties, but still.
Oh, and Casey.
looks great for the Marlins.
Got that power and patience profile that made him such a high-end prospects.
Been sitting against lefties,
but there's only one left-hander on the schedule for the Marlins,
so good time to start.
Owen Casey.
Max Muncie of the Athletics has hit safely in all but two games, I believe,
coming into Friday.
Every game of two so far, yeah.
And this fast-swing percentage, fast-swing percentage,
is up 16 points this year,
swinging with more intent.
Had a big spring, it's off to a good start.
For the athletics, who have pretty good matchups,
they didn't quite get the top five, but they're pretty good.
Let's see, lost my place here.
Oh, Miguel Vargas with the White Sox having the fourth best matchups,
he's off to a nice start.
Troy Johnston, if we're going to recommend T.J. Rumfield,
I think Johnston also gets to take advantage of the righty-heavy schedule,
the favorable hitter matchups.
He's been red-hot.
I don't think he's as good as Rumfield,
but highly, highly available, only 13% rostered.
And finally, Brett Beatty, because there's only one lefty on the schedule for the Mets.
Mark Viantos has been getting more playing time than Beatty so far, which is unfortunate, I think.
But Beatty has mostly been playing against Ritey's.
And with the news that Jorge Polanco might have to go on the IL, I think Beatty's playing time becomes even more secure.
All right.
