Weekend Waiverwire ads.
Up next on Fantasy Baseball Today Express.
Welcome into FBT Express on Monday, June 22nd.
Happy Fathers a day to all the great dads out there and the granddad too.
I am Frank Stample joined by Chris Towers and Let's Talk Waiverwire ads.
I do have some starting pitchers available in shallower leagues.
Landon Rup, big start this weekend, big bounce back at the Marlins.
Walbert-Irania just continues to pitch while he had 17 whiffs on 90 pitches.
Trevor Rogers, seven shutout innings against the...
the Dodgers, that was a great one.
Joey Cantillo made some big changes,
eight innings of one-run ball with nine strikeouts
at the Astros, and Tatsuya IMA, an impressive start.
Six innings for him, three runs, but 11 strikeouts to zero walks.
Interesting collection of names here, Chris.
I think some names that have big upside, also big downside.
But who would you say your favorite three are from this group?
Imai, Cantillo, Rogers, Arainia, and Landon Root.
That's a lot of names, and I think.
think the answers can be different depending on what you're looking for, right? Because if you've got
one to start this week, well, it's going to be really hard to choose Trevor Rogers, who I think
might be the best of this group. He certainly has the best track record of this group, but he's going
against the nationals this week, who have the best in baseball against lefties. So it's going to be
really hard to trust him, even if I think he might have the highest upside of this group. And then
you've got like Joey Cantillo who I don't really have a lot of faith in long term,
but he's got a great matchup against the Mariners. And he started all of a sudden throwing his
curveball as his most used pitch in this start. He threw 46% of time. He got 13 whiffs with it.
If that suddenly becomes a weapon for Joey Cantillo and it's not just him relying on the
changeup for everything, that could change the calculus for him in a big way. But I don't have a lot
of faith on that in that. That's just one start that he's really done that. So I'm inclined to put
Cantillo at the bottom of this list. I would probably go Rogers at the top if we're talking
long term. If you're more worried about getting a starter for this week, maybe you go Landon Rup
who has the athletics. I don't really trust the command here. I think he's just, he's so reliant on
that big slow curveball that I think it's just going to be really tough for Land of Rup.
As we've seen already this season, the throw strikes consistently enough to be in your lineup
every time, but I'm okay prioritizing him for that start against the A's.
And then I think I would go Tetsu Yemi second on this group.
And partially that's just this was the guy outside of Rogers that we were most
interested coming into the season.
And he's starting to show some signs, right?
We got the 11 strikeout start this time around, no walks.
That's a huge deal for this guy because Tetsu Yemi has really struggled with his command.
But if he can be a decent command pitcher, I think there's a lot of upside that's
slider misses a lot of bats.
He also started throwing this change-up a bunch more.
Got four whiffs with that one.
I think I'd go Emi third.
So I guess that's Rogers, Rup, Imi, as the top three from that list.
All right, let's quickly talk about some shallow league hitters from the weekend.
Sam Antanachi, he's picking up some power, has three home runs in his past seven games,
61% rostered, second base, outfield eligible.
We've both talked a lot about him this season.
The underlying stuff, very interesting.
looks very good for Antanachi.
And Carter Jensen is heating up two for three with his 10th home run on Sunday.
He had a monster game on Thursday as well, 4 for 4 with a sock in the shoe.
73% rostered, only a name that would be out there in one catcher leagues.
But we are dealing with a lot of catcher injuries right now.
So I think Carter Jensen makes sense there.
But Chris, Antanachi, 61%.
I think that needs to be closer to 100% at this point.
I don't see a reason it shouldn't be because if you're talking about points leagues,
well, he gets on base a ton.
It's a 386 on base percentage.
The walk rate is like 8%,
but he loves to take a hit by pitch,
which anybody who knows me,
you know, that's a skill I love.
I love a pitcher or a hitter willing to take one for the team like that.
He's done it a bunch of times this season.
It was a part of his game in the minors.
That's a real skill.
And the thing with Antinacchi is all along,
he's been posting really good batting average predictors.
You know, his XBA is like 310,
has been for a while,
but the power hasn't been there.
And I think that's why people,
have been a little resident to buy into Sam Antanachi.
Well, it's three homers in the past seven games.
His average exit velocity in the month of June is like 90 miles per hour.
I don't think Sam Antanachi has big power,
but if he could be a 15 homer guy,
well, all of a sudden,
you're talking about a legitimate three and a half category guy,
because I think the batting average is going to be a standout mark.
He's on like 100 run pace.
He's on a 25 stolen base pace.
If he can be 10 to 15 homers,
now you're talking about,
what Nika Horner has been,
but maybe with a little more power.
That's a really,
really nice player.
Nika Horner's been a top 100 pick
multiple times the last few years.
So I think Sam Antenachi has that kind of upside.
I think you're talking about a fringe top 12 second baseman right now,
but with more upside than that.
And honestly,
he's not far from being a top 36 outfielder right now.
All right,
let's take a quick break.
We'll be back right after this.

Welcome back, FBT Express.
We are talking waiver wire ads from the weekend.
And if you are in need of speed, Jason Dominguez in the outfield, I think is an option here.
He had five hits, three steals this weekend.
The Yankees have been really aggressive on the base paths.
They lead the American League in steals as a team so far this season.
They also have a lot of injuries in the outfit.
Field, so Dominguez is getting a chance to play there.
If you lost Bobby Witt, Jr., and we don't know that he's going on the aisle, but it doesn't
look great right now, and you need speed from shortstop.
Cooper Pratt has three steals in the six games he's played so far.
Nassim Nunez is hitting over 400 in the month of June, and I believe is the league
leader in steals so far this season.
Mostly a one-trick pony, but, you know, hits starting to come around a little bit.
Chris, anyone in particular here that stands out to you between Dominguez, Cooper-Prat,
and Nassim Nunez for speed.
Yeah, so if we're talking about upside,
I think to Mingas is clearly the most interesting of this group.
Just because he has the potential to give you something in the power categories,
I don't really think Cooper Pratt,
and especially Nassim Nunez do.
Nassim Nunez is the slap hitteriest hitter in baseball these days.
But lately he's finding holes.
He's hitting 400 in the month of June.
He is on, I mean, gosh, it's got to be close to a 70-steal pace.
at this point, you're literally going to get nothing else, right?
Like the batting average has been really bad all year.
Even during this stretch, I don't really think it's for real.
You're not going to get many runs.
He hits during the bottom lineup.
But he is a true standout and stolen bases.
And I think he's only 30% rostered right now.
I think that's probably too low just because Nassim Nunez should probably be
rostered in any Roto league.
Just for the stolen bases, you can make up a lot of ground really quickly there.
So if that's what you're looking for, I think Nassim Nunez has a lot of upside.
otherwise I think Jason Dominguez is the one out of this group who could be a
I mean really it could be like a 25 homer guy but I think you'll settle for 20
with some stolen base upside and I think he has a chance to play his way into a full-time
role with the Yankees even when they're healthy yeah I think it could be like a 20-20
pace type outcome here for Jason Dominguez the rest of the way assuming he can
remain in a job there and you talked about Nassiz Nunez's a lack of power
He makes Jose Caballero look like
John Carlos Dayton, man.
At least Caballero, I mean, you could get an occasional
pop here and there, but Nassim Nunez, you will not.
He is on pace for 56 steals,
which is pretty impressive in his own right,
but it's mostly just...
84 mile per hour average.
Egs of velocity, second percentile in baseball.
Defense and speed, that's pretty much all you're getting there
from Nassim Nunez.
I do have a hitter that I think is worth streaming this week.
Caleb Durbin has been hitting better.
Last 20 games, he's hitting 319,
four homers, three steals in OPS over 900.
He has seven games this week,
and three are in Colorado in Corris Field.
So if you need a third base bin, a corner infielder,
I like Caleb Durbin.
And just a deeper name I wanted to throw out there.
Densair Guzman homered each game this weekend,
and he was sitting very well in the minors,
has third base and shortstop eligibility,
only 9% rostered.
Chris, do you have any deep league interests here in Densar Guzman?
Yeah, I think in 15 team leagues,
were at the point where you should add Denzer Guzman
because the numbers at AAA were really good.
He was like a top 10-ish prospect in their system
according to MLB pipeline.
I think baseball perspective actually didn't rank him on their system,
so it kind of depends on who you ask there.
But he was hitting really well at AAA.
The plate discipline was really good.
There's some pop.
There's some speed.
He wasn't really doing anything at the major league level before
the three straight games of the home run.
But that's enough to take notice.
Yeah.
Well, we'll see if this guy who,
who has some interesting minor league production can get going.
Sure.
All right, let's finish out there for more extensive fantasy baseball coverage.
