Welcome to the Kevin Wilde's podcast network, vibe check time.
A quick methodology on the vibe check.
We put out a poll.
There's a little drop-down menu.
Pick your favorite team.
Pick how you're feeling from 1 to 10.
Then we tabulate all the results.
And we see how the local vibe is around your favorite team.
Why do I do this?
Well, I think it is an underrated data point on how local fans feel about their team.
I feel like you guys have the best sense of how the team really is playing.
and optimism or pessimism towards that team.
Quick ad read before we start.
This week's vibe check is brought to you by Brian's Giant Scissors.
Brian's Giant Scissors are the most trusted giant scissors
by real estate developers and municipalities all over the world.
If you're a fan of blades that dull after their third ceremony,
I'd recommend Steve's humongous scissors.
But if you want a crisp cut every time,
you've got to go with Brian's.

time I cut a ceremonial ribbon, and I'm always glad I did.
Coming in at number 32 on the vibe check, and this is bad because Gianna's not here,
and Miles is in, and Miles is a huge Eagles fan.
He has most of his wardrobe is Eagles stuff, and then one day a week who wears regular clothing.
It's the Philadelphia Eagles at a 1.76.
Here's the quotes.
Above the field, prayers for Hertz.
Yes, for everybody.
Off the field, nonstop injuries, departures from the roster is comically bad on the field.
The product is so inept that we don't even boo our nonstop three and outs anymore.
That's really concerning, Miles.
When Philadelphia fans stop booing, it's like when my son's fish stops eating the food that we put in the tank,
just floats near the filter.
I mean, something is very, very wrong.
All my Philly friends want to fire Siriani.
Look, I know the standard is excellent, and the guy has gone to two Super Bowls.
I don't know how you're supposed to judge him.
Highest win percentage in Super Bowl era, it's John Madden, it's George Allen, it's Shula, it's Siriani, and then it's Tom Landry.
Like, I know, it's, Tom Landry's fired, too, so I'm just saying.
One more quote.
Time for the process, tanking and getting picked.
I know what the process is.
To jump from the Sixers to the Eagles, James from Chestnut Hill, PA, not Massachusetts.
Ew.
That's unnecessary, first of all.
And it might be time to move on and do a full rebuild, which then I think Howie Roseman's going to blame Siriani.
He's going to trade all the players and be like, ah, what are you going to do?
We went five and 12.
This is a wacky one.
Just sign Nick Foles back at this point and see what happens.
Something.
Number 31.
Congratulations for actually moving up.
a spot. Okay, I've been a one vibe score pretty much this whole year, but hear me out.
We actually might be bad enough to get Jeremiah Smith. This alone is something to feel excited for.
The worst thing you can be in this league is in the middle, and we are not nearly good enough to be in
the middle. It's all going to come down to week 17 against Miami. Bolt up Ryan. It's not the
Dolphins. It is the Los Angeles Chargers. Tough one. Number 30, they have, they've
fallen fast, the Dallas Cowboys. I've been with the boys since the triplets. What I truly
wish would happen, this isn't going to happen, but I do like the idea. What I truly wish would
happen is that the media stop covering them, put them in the same bucket as the Titans,
and give them zero or minimal airtime. Then and only then will Jerry Jones and his family
take this seriously, fork out the bucks to hire a top-tier coach and staff and build the
Cowboys back into a tough game on everyone's schedule, Super Bowl contending team that they used to be.
P.S. Love you, well, that's a nice PS. Usually we get them. I'm not from Massachusetts, ew.
I'm sorry that is not going to happen. We are going to continue to cover the Cowboys. Do I think that your
popularity hurts your team? I do. I felt this way a little bit about the Patriots where the
Cowboys had a dynasty, and they became America's team, and they're still America's team.
Whereas the Patriots had a dynasty, and we had a few down years, and we were no longer on TV
and weren't as popular.
And here's the difference, I think.
I think the New England Patriots were a great restaurant that was out of the way.
And everybody loved it, but you had to go out of the way.
And once the chef and some of the staff left, nobody wanted to go to that restaurant anymore.
I think the Cowboys are a restaurant on the waterfront with a beautiful view.
It will always be packed and it doesn't matter how good the food is.
The food is kind of secondary.
The restaurants always packed.
And I actually think it has an adverse effect on the food.
If you're another team, like, we're only going to be popular if we're good.
Whereas if you're the Cowboys, like, we're going to be popular because you can see a
Lighthouse. It's beautiful here.
People are going to keep coming.
So I'm sorry, we're still going to talk about the Cowboys.
It's a great view. You can put your feet in the sand.
Oh, my gosh. Also, you can't run the ball.
You can't run the ball. 69 yards, 66, 148.
That was a good. Good game against the Raven.
75, 50, 48. Just run. Nothing's wrong with that.
You can't run the ball. Number 29.
The Los Angeles Rams. We lost to the Cardinals Wilds when they did not score a touchdown.
All seriousness, the vibes are horrible.
Everyone's injured and everyone feels.
off except the running game, which McVeigh is scared of.
Run the ball.
Did you see that our punter kicked a field goal?
Okay.
The fact that your kicker, your second kicker of the year got injured and the
punter came in and everyone's going crazy, I thought that was not that surprising.
Maybe it is.
Maybe I'm a simpleton.
But it's like when you go to get your Christmas tree and the guy who cuts down the
Christmas tree, you see him 20 minutes later and he's making a wreath.
Like, oh, that's cool.
It's very, it's impressive, but I kind of assumed you could do it.
I assume the punter can kick field goals.
Sorry.
Rams last four seasons.
Reasons for optimism.
They started three and six, one and four, three and two and two and four, which you are now.
You finished from that point on, 7-1-9-3-9-3.
We'll still TBD.
You've got the eighth easiest schedule.
But then again, again, you did lose to the Cardinals.
So who knows, you've got the Raiders and the chargers up next.
Number 28. The Titans, oddly, they're up.
Winning oddly makes the season less interesting to me.
I was on O. and 17 watch, and now I just won't tune in.
Brutal.
We're just going to move on.
Number 27, Tampa Bay Bucks, was not planning to be on draft watch so soon, but here we are.
Meanwhile, optimistic Steve, which I like.
Our defense is awesome.
Our division is garbage.
Heck, Baker's coming back.
We could still win this thing.
Optimistic Steve, you know what?
true to your name.
Right on, maybe.
Number 26, the Indianapolis Colts.
That was the most embarrassing loss,
and yet the happiest Monday of my football life.
Hallelujah, Ballard is finally gone.
There was a few comments like this
that even though you lost,
you guys were actually happy
that your GM is gone.
So maybe a new,
you need a new GM.
I kind of like the Peyton Manning,
Matt Ryan kind of idea,
John Elway.
I'm just a sucker for having,
like, the great,
all-time great guy
come back to the team.
I just like it.
Number 25, the Atlanta Falcons.
What's going on with the Falcons?
I can't tell if you guys are good or not.
Every year the Falcons have one or two games
to start of the year where they go,
wow, look at the Falcons.
I remember primetime Kurt Cousins a couple years ago,
dealing in swag surfing.
Those were the days.
Kurt Cousin swag surfing.
This year was Bijon running everywhere,
even making Bruce's ballot.
Yet they always come back down and disappoint.
We have all the offense talent,
it feels like our QB holds us back
every year, I'm most worried about being the next giant's Sequin story where Bijan might eventually
leave and then really thrive. Yikes. You can't let Bejohn leave, but he probably should.
Number 24, this seems not that bad. My wife's from San Francisco. We have our first kid on the way.
Would you make him a Jets fan? Absolutely not. Absolutely not for a few reasons. If you're from San Francisco,
you have an inn.
So it's not like, oh, we're both huge Jets fans.
Should we go off the map and make him a Chiefs fan?
Which you certainly can.
But if you have the inn to become a 49ers fan,
become a 49ers fan.
Also, and this might hurt why you'll never see me in Celtics gear.
And sorry, Miles.
I don't love the green color scheme.
I don't personally look good in green.
I just like, I would pick, just how my son is going to go to college.
I'm looking at those old time the game hats and looking to see which ones I like the best,
and that's where he's going to go to school, North Carolina.
Number 23, Washington commanders, last in a division that might be worse than last year's NFC South.
Everyone, oh, the media doesn't like our QB, even the sports media on Budsman.
The reality is that all QBs have game losing brainfarts.
I agree with this.
Drake threw an end zone interception
Hand the game to Drew Locke, I agree.
Dak threw a pass the back of the end zone.
The goat Brady himself forgot what down it was
and lost the rematch against Nick Foles.
Bucks Bearers 2020, question.
Unless we start winning games convincingly, it might be bad vibes
until Jaden gets a titanium elbow and a new coach.
I'm a fan of Jaden's elbow brace too.
Not only it keeps him safe, but it just looks cool.
It's like when Richard Hamilton had needed
the mask, but then his face was healed and he just kept wearing the mask because he looked
awesome.
I think that's what he should do with the elbow thing.
Number 22, the Arizona Cardinals.
Wilde, you've been advocating for real Cardinals fans to participate in the vibes.
But the reason we choose not to is because there's no winning.
Even when we win.
We beat the Chargers.
It's about how bad they are.
We beat the Rams.
It's how they choke the game.
We never get any real.
That's enough with the Cardinals.
Number 21, the Miami Dolphins.
Thank you for not talking.
talking about us on the show.
You're welcome.
Fanbase is well aware.
We are the worst team, but nobody cares.
Everyone loves the young talent, and we play hard.
We're the opposite of break dancers now, signed Micah.
It's the best tanking job I've ever seen.
Every week you play hard.
Every week you lose.
Feels like you're actually building something.
I think Malik Willis is still good.
Just not winning.
Oh, number 20.
I believe in this team.
I just didn't pull a comment.
The Saints.
I apologize.
I'll do it next week,
but I can't go back.
look them up. Number 19. See if you can guess it. It's the what could have been season. It's
obvious we have no real shot and the fact that the division stinks is even more of a tease.
They're showing me images of a delicious steak dinner that I can never reach the chair at the table.
It's the Giants. I went to the Bureau of Printing and Engraving where they print the money
when I was a kid on a tour of D.C. And they have a sign on a huge stack of money that's like the
breaking bad stack of money and it says so close yet so far as we were taking the tour.
I said, if I ever worked here, I would probably steal lots of money so I can't work here.
I was just a kid.
In any event, number 18, Lamar's still not practicing.
He's been day to day for three weeks.
So he is practicing now.
So be more Bob.
I think you're going to, I think you're in luck.
So if Lamar plays, you guys are all of a sudden favorite.
I assume he's going to play.
and if it's all Lamar dependent on the vibes.
Number 17, the Seattle Seahawks.
They're down five.
We need to run game or Darnold.
We'll continue to throw picks.
He's not meant to succeed without it.
That's a lot, not meant to succeed.
That being said, our defense should keep us in it
until we get our running backs back.
You guys can't lose this game to the Chiefs.
You can't lose.
You can't all of a sudden be three and four
and have Kenneth Walker,
who hasn't lost a game since week 11 of last year.
Number 16, my upset alert,
pick Bengals over Ravens.
We avoided the slow start.
The defense isn't awful and Burroughs healthy.
The only year we have done all three in the borough era is the year we made it to the Super
Bowl.
When this Sunday, we're winning the division.
Good vibes in Cincinnati.
Number 15, the true Goddy offense in the league.
It's not the bills.
It's the Detroit Lions who have Brian Branch coming back.
Lions starting to feel good.
They really need to win America's game of the week on Fox against the Packers.
Number 14.
When I watch this offense, I get the sense that there is a significant disagreement between
the QB and the coach over how it should operate.
Just the vibe.
Those two need to go out back and have a good old fist fight.
Signed Jack.
I don't know what they should have a good old fist fight.
But I view them as an old bickering couple that do love each other,
but their love language is eye rolls.
And you guys look okay.
McCarthy's like, throw the ball.
Aaron wants to throw the ball.
Number 13, the Las Vegas Raiders, who have lost three in a row
but the vibes are always good
and they've been good
every time we've done this poll.
The numbers on these poll for the Raiders
are inaccurate. You guys are at 13.
In Vegas, we all know the Raiders
are going to be a top team in a few seasons.
This is a rebuild. Year 1 looks fantastic, but still
rebuild. Dylan from Vegas. I think
you guys have polled well. Number 12,
the Broncos. Four and two,
but Bo is in a crisis. The wheels
will come off. Geez, KDK
from Menlo Park. I don't know what's
going on in the Broncos. Being four and two,
to the Chiefs, Jags, Rams, Niders, charge, and Seahawks should feel pretty good.
You shouldn't put chargers in there.
But the offense is bad.
I still, Bo leave after how Grady looked last year, but I'm going to have to see it again to feel like we can win it all.
I kind of Bo leave, not really.
Number 11, the New England Patriots.
So, interesting thing that happened last night.
We lost to the Bears.
And I put this poll out on Monday night football, so we got a bunch of respondents.
And then I put it out again last night to get updated.
Before the game, we were at a 7.93.
Now we are at a 6.62.
We only lost 1.3 points.
So it actually, I feel like all Patriots fans feel like I felt.
Wasn't great, but we were injured Thursday on the road.
Caleb played great.
Drake had three touchdowns, but also we lost the game.
You know, when you order a burger at a restaurant and they accidentally put something on it
that you didn't ask for, tomato for me.
You could let the one wrong ingredient ruin the whole meal
and complain to the staff.
You can't complain to the staff about putting a slice of tomato
on your burger if you're over nine.
Or you could just take the tomato off yourself
and enjoy the great burger.
That's right.
The burger is Drake May's performance
in the tomato was the I-N-T.
I don't know if that worked, but you gave it a shot.
Number 10, the Buffalo Bills.
Every week I watch Josh Allen do things only Josh Allen can do.
I also watch our defense make every QB we face look like Josh Allen.
That's the issue with you guys.
Your first in points, your 16 and yards, your 28th in opponent's points.
Number nine, the Houston Texans who aren't good at defense.
I don't know what's going on.
Games allowing over 30 points.
Last year, zero.
The only team was zero.
This year, three.
Only Arizona has more.
Comment.
from Cassius from Austin.
C.J. Stroud for MVP.
It's going to be an uphill climb
due to the record we started,
but anyone who has watched every Texan's game this year
would tell you C.J.
has been the one consistent glimmer of hope.
You know what?
I'm going to start the C.J. MVP if you guys come back.
No one's got that land.
But we're going to have another guy
that I'm going to really ride for coming up.
Number eight, the Green Bay Packers.
Interesting comment here.
And I don't know if it has.
any effect on the Packers' performance.
But as Dion says, look good, play good.
The comment was Matt LaFleur, fresh fade.
You guys are playing well.
He does have a better haircut.
Number seven, the Cleveland Browns.
Todd Munkin, Coach of the Year, that one might be wrapped up.
Don't forget, Coach of the Year, sneaky dis.
Sneaky diss.
Like, I can't believe you won a game with this team.
Holy cow.
We all thought you guys were going to be terrible, but you got Coach of the Year.
Number six, the Minnesota Vikings.
Look, the defense is fantastic.
I still believe Kevin O'Connell will get the offense going.
Kyler to Justin Jefferson still works.
He's in a brand new system.
He hasn't played all the games.
Kyler will be fine.
Number five, this MVP talk is who I'm riding with.
It's Bryce Young.
I love seeing Bryce Young apologists coming out of the woodwork.
Wilds and coach are the only real ones, Preston from Jacksonville.
the reason why I rock with Bryce Young
I don't know if I've told this story
on the Kevin Wilds podcast network
but
we went to the ESP Awards
and my son has just always loved
Bryce Young
and he's cute
and fearless
so when you're on he's at an award show
and now he's just getting pictures
with everybody so he sees Bryce Young
and he goes and gets a picture with Bryce Young
and he was so happy I was like
hey you met a bunch of people met Miles Garrett
Jayland Brown I was like
who'd face? I love Bryce
young he just kept on talking about how nice Bryce young was so then the next year we go to the
super bowl the Eagles chief Super Bowl in New Orleans and Bryce is promoting something and we're walking in
and he's walking out of somewhere and I said oh and he remember he had finished the year really
hot I was like oh congratulations at the end of the year I just want to tell you
my son met you at the SB's and he can't stop talking about how
how you went above and beyond how nice you were to him.
So I just wanted to say thank you because I didn't see him at the answer.
And he says, oh, thank you.
I really appreciate that.
Tell him I said hi.
So then I went home from the Super Bowl and told my son, Billy, that Bryce Young said hi.
And he was over the moon.
Now I think that if he sees Bryce Young, if we go to a Panthers game,
he'd be like, that's actually my friend at this point.
If you said, if you've had to talk to a guy twice in the last two years,
nowadays loneliness is an epidemic,
you're actually friends.
So I will always root for Brison.
Number four,
let me lay out the Jags' current outlook for you, KW,
since we get basically zero time on your show.
We hire guys playing trumpets,
and Nick wears a wig.
It's obvious none of you actually watch us.
We watch you, but your games are on at 9.30 in the morning.
Trevor and our offense have been humming at unbelievable level.
Travis Hunter is a budding superstar.
Liam Cohen is the best thing.
that's happened to Jacksonville since sliced bread.
You guys are cooking it.
Our defense, arguably best run defense in the NFL,
gets continually shredded in the air.
Oh, we even made Bo Nix look like Prime Peyton Manning.
This week we must trade for a key defensive player
and we will be true contenders Sam from Jacksonville.
I think you guys are good.
I have a little Patriots bias because you've cooked up Drake May.
I think you guys are really good to make a run to the Super Bowl.
Number three, Kansas City.
They've got the Seahawks.
We are nervously excited,
kind of like a marriage.
proposal. What? If you've been with her for a while and things are going well, you're confident
she'll say yes, but there's always that chance that things go south. On the proposal,
you should be, you should be at 100% pretty much. You shouldn't be, it's almost like taking a flight
at this point. If you're even at 90%, that's a no-go. You can't ask, even 97% you got to be at a no-go.
you got to be at 100%
safe landing once you take the knee and ask
for hand in marriage.
You should already talk to the parents.
You should already talk to her about what ring.
You can't just go freestyle in a ring.
You don't know anything about rings.
I mean, if you're a jeweler, maybe,
but you don't know what cut she likes,
what sparkle.
I forgot it.
But for three months there,
I was really dialed into different clarity.
Number two.
I put this poll up last night
and it got the most responses ever.
It's the Chicago Bears.
You guys just look fantastic.
Bears would typically lose a game
when the opposing team was closing in late,
but they somehow managed to pull this out.
You guys just looked good.
When will Wilds graduate from calling Ben Johnson cute and clever?
And just admit that he's one of the three best play callers
and head coaches in the NFL.
Both things are true.
I think he's great.
I think he's smart.
and he's very savvy and he calls a lot of plays.
I think Caleb was excellent.
But the Joe Tuny handoff was nuts.
I know it and you know it.
You know what it wasn't nuts.
You know what it was?
You know it.
You know it.
It was cute and clever.
And number one, still, no change.
The San Francisco 49ers,
the best comment to end the Kevin Wild's Podcast Network.
It's Brocktober.
That's Kevin Wild's Podcast Network.
Vibe check.
Have a great weekend.
Enjoy the World Series.
Enjoy the football.
