Oh, live from New York.
It's a show that's got baseball fever.
Four games tonight.
Man.
Dodgers Braves right after first things first overtime.
Last night was phenomenal.
Yeah, it was.
It was really phenomenal.
You know what?
If you're rooting for the Braves like I was, a little less phenomenal.
Yeah, I mean, I told you how this series is going to go.
It was just watching guys go up and then sit down.
Yeah, Braves are going to win tonight and then we'll get a game five.
Dodgers probably win it.
But it's just great baseball.
Tomomoto is just a legend.
Unbelievable. Unbelievable.
Just like the, I was saying similar maybe to Smoltz,
like a great regular season pitcher that got to another level in the postseason.
When you get a player who turns it up in the postseason.
Yeah.
Especially he's a star.
Andrew, they let him pitch a long time.
They don't, they don't pull him early.
He could have went complete.
He could have done a complete.
Well, they got to save.
They think they may have to save for the whole run.
First hour, a first thing's first.
Today, Cowboys, offense, rolling.
Do we owe Dak an apology for criticizing him saying he'd have the greatest offense there is?
Meanwhile, Seahawks 49ers, America's game of the week.
Some people say this isn't a must win.
Other people say, indeed it is.
And finally, three undefeated teams.
Who will be on top of the tiers?
Will it be the Chiefs?
Will it be the 49ers?
This guy.
Or could it be the Minnesota?
The Vikings.
You never know.
They're undefeating.
Not the standings, but they are 4 and 0.
Defense wins championship.
You know what?
Don't give it away.
They're not at the top.
Kevin.
Tell you right.
It's Nick Wright.
Tears coming up promptly at 4 o'clock.
Right now we're headed to Philadelphia.
Where Lane Johnson announces retirement, then the Eagles straight fellow offensive linemen
to the Ravens.
First, Lane Johnson.
Writing, I owe it to my teammates, coaches, the organization, and the fans.
To have my head and heart 100%
in the game. And right now, my heart is telling me that it's time to say goodbye to football.
Two times Super Bowl champ. The Eagles did a lot of winning with him.
Win percentage when Lane Johnson is on the field, about 66% without a 37%.
Meanwhile, today, Cam Juergens headed to Baltimore with a seventh pick for a fifth and a
2028 second round pick. So two major moves on the Eagles offensive line, are they in trouble?
I think they're in huge trouble
and before I get to that I want to say something
about Lane Johnson because he does qualify
his friend of the show, came on the show
a couple times long time ago
he also qualifies as someone who
I believe is going to be a first ballot Hall of Famer
and was the
definitional player at his
position. Basically his
entire career. Like there was
no argument. Penaise Sewell came
close at some point near the end
for Lane but he was the best right tackle
in football for a decade.
Chris Long said it today.
There are no Super Bowls without Lane Johnson for Philadelphia.
He is clearly dealing with a lot off the field as far as family health stuff and the
own toll that this has taken on him.
So congrats to him on a great career.
I'm sure he didn't envision walking away mid-season, but for what he's going through
he felt he needed to.
So thoughts with him and also an amazing career.
With that said, now on the football side of things,
some people alleged,
fairly or not,
that I might have picked the Philadelphia Eagles
to go to the Super Bowl
to curry favor with Sixers fans
because I'm...
I don't know that it was alleged.
It was just a fact.
It was also fact.
Let's not throw fact around so loosely.
I think you thought LeBron might play tight in for the ease.
What I'm here to say is,
while that is not entirely accurate,
it's also not entirely inaccurate.
And now I find myself in the tricky spot of,
I might have to abandon
them before the Sixers season even begins, because I don't think they can overcome this.
This was a team that was built by Howie Roseman inside out.
It was based in having dominant offensive and defensive lines, and then they started adding,
you know, the weapons and the all-pros at receiver and Seekwon.
But before all of that, they had great offensive lines.
When they went to the Super Bowl and whooped my chiefs,
this was their starting offensive line.
You have all pro left tackle Jordan Milata.
You have Landon Dickerson, Cam Juergens,
Mackay Beckton's best year of his career,
and Lane Johnson still playing an all pro level.
This is now their offensive line.
Jordan Milata is still there.
Willie Lampkin is going to be elevated.
Kindle's been elevated.
Tyler Steen, all young players.
and maybe their third or fourth string going into this year right tackle
or tackle as far as overall tackle spots.
I don't think they are built to withstand a bad offensive line.
Not that any team is, but at least certain teams have experience with it.
You know, they have a quarterback that is used to it.
And so you have the injuries they have at skill positions,
you have Jalen in the midst of, let's just call it,
season long slump up to this point outside of one drive against Philadelphia.
I don't know that Siriani knows what to do to fix this and I don't know if it's fixable.
I think the Eagles brew are in massive trouble and the fact, and again, Vegas isn't everything,
but the fact that they are seven point dogs in a neutral sight game is stunning.
Basically a home game.
I, yeah, the Jags do have some home field advance there, but you know what I mean?
Like, I can't think of a time that I've been, since I've been on this show where the Eagles would be touchdown underdogs to any team on a neutral site and that's where they're at.
Yeah, first on Lane Johnson, look, like you said, fabulous career, I think it'll be in the Hall of Fame as well.
And football is a painful sport every day.
Game days, practice, it's a painful sport.
and if your mind isn't fully into it,
your heart isn't fully into it,
because of what he's going through with his family
or whatever the personal issues are,
you are right to sit down and step away.
And look, he's had a great career.
Like if it was his fourth year or something,
he probably would play through it.
But he's had a full career.
He contemplated stepping away earlier.
So I have no problem with it.
But you are right.
I think the Eagles are in trouble.
I picked them to make the playoffs as a wild call.
but now I'm thinking they won't.
And I feel like they kind of know, okay, this is, this might be our chiefs year last year,
where we just aren't going to be that good because they traded Cam Juergens,
who's still a very good player.
I'm happy that the Ravens got him.
That's what they needed was a legitimate center, and he will be that.
So it's almost like they kind of know that this is not going the right way.
to trade an offensive line
the day after you have a seemingly
surprised retirement
from another offensive line.
Here's what Bill Barnel wrote.
I thought it was perfect.
Two things can be true.
Eagles training cam for a second round pick
isn't proof that they're tanking or giving up
on the season.
Right?
Eagles probably aren't training cam
if they think they have a great O line
in place that's about to lead them to a Super Bowl.
So that's where we're at.
Are you leaning towards
like the Super Bowl?
The ball is out.
The question, I do think Jalen Hertz may be able to keep them in the playoff picture.
I would say at this moment, I don't think they're going to make the playoffs.
I think Dallas is going to win that division.
But is Howie Roseman thinking rebuild in week five.
So this is where.
I don't know why you trade jerks.
I mean, so I might have a little insight to that just because while I at times make fun of the football nerds,
I am a salary cap nerd.
And they now have two first round picks in 2028 because of the Patriots and two second round picks in 20208.
You mentioned it might be a chief's type of year.
I don't think that as far as like one bad year and then right back.
So many moves how he has made over the last five years, people have come on TV and podcasts,
and be like, see, salary cap's fake.
You know, they find money, they create money.
And I've been one of the loan voices being like, not fake,
you can kick the can down the road,
especially if you have an owner like Jeffrey Lurie that doesn't mind
cutting massive bonus checks and paying a lot of cash.
But eventually, every dollar you pay a player shows up on the cap at some point.
They set it up to where 2028, really 2029, they have to reset.
Jalen Hertz has like a $95 million of void years on his deal.
Jalen Carter became the highest paid D-tackle ever,
and over the five years of his deal,
never has a cap it above $30 million because it's all void years,
all of these things.
So they know that their window is supposed to be right now and next year.
And I think Howie is recognizing,
man, if Lane's gone, we're dealing with.
the injuries. Our offensive
line wasn't that good to begin with
already this year. We might
need to accelerate
some of that pain so by
28, 29, we can
compete again. But the Eagles
have a, the way
they have done it, the only way you can have
so many, people were like, how
can they have so many good players? I mean, you can talk
about it. Like, you lose one edge
rusher, you bring in another expensive one
is because they were borrowing from
future year's cap. Lane Johnson,
and retiring triggers about $25 million on next year's cap.
That this trade, the Juergens trade, is going to have some salary cap ramifications.
It's not a bad way of doing business, but it is a eventually that cost comes due.
And so I think this was supposed to be this year and maybe next year the last couple years they
could do it without really taking their medicine.
I wonder if they start trying to take their medicine earlier now.
because of that.
I mean, we're going to have a Jalen Hertz specific conversation later in the show.
Yeah.
But this was supposed to be J.Len Hertz's prove a year without A.J. Brown.
And if the front office saying, like, by the way, no A.J. Brown and two offensive
alignment, and we make some other moves.
Well, the front office didn't do the Lane Johnson thing.
But that, no, but it didn't look like, holy cow, Lane's retired.
Let's add somebody.
We got to make a move right now.
And this wasn't, look, it was a surprise to us.
I don't think it was that surprising within the building.
when he contemplated retirement.
They had to know this was on the board.
No, and he's talked about it in the off season.
So I agree with that.
I'm going to say one other thing that you might not like to hear,
but I think it's accurate.
One of the reasons you have multiple first round picks
and multiple second round picks in a couple of years
is to potentially restock the team.
Another reason you'd want to do that
is to use them to move up to draft a quarterback.
And there has been, there was a lot this off season
of speculation and seemingly informed speculation
that certain parts of the front office
aren't necessarily as in love with Jalen Hertz as you are.
And so he has a lot on his plate right now.
And if he's able to do it,
nobody's going to be able to say,
oh, well, yeah, they have an All-Star team around them.
It's far from it, but it's a big ask of Jalen Hertz at this.
They're leaving for London on Friday.
Yeah, they're going late.
Weird quirk.
Maybe that works going late.
A Cowboys are averaging 30 points of game, Bruce, second behind the bills.
They sit at two and two as they get ready for their matchup against the winless bucks.
But now before the season, Dack proclaimed that his offense would be Gotti.
Like the mob boss?
No, no, no, no.
The greatest offense there is.
He was asked if he had any regrets about that proclamation.
Here's what he said.
Do you regret the mantra?
No.
I was asking me.
No, I got no regrets.
We're, what, four games in?
I think we can get better.
Am I complacent with what we've done?
Absolutely not.
Do I think what we've done, is it enough?
Absolutely not.
Do I still believe that that's who we are and that's who we're going to be?
Damn right.
Brew, has DAC been proven right?
No.
Now, we showed, I don't know if we have the graphic from yesterday.
I thought you might use that where, yeah,
On a per drive, points per drive basis, I mean, they are that, right?
Barely, I mean, this year's 49ers are right there with them.
But you look at that 07 Patriots and the 18 Chiefs when Mahomes was throwing it all over the yard.
Obviously, Randy Moss and Tom Brady.
I mean, that is impressive.
That is impressive.
But I would say after four games, we could call them one of the best offenses.
There are a lot of teams buying for that.
Obviously the Niners, the Chiefs statistically got a great run game, got the best quarterback.
They've been putting up points.
The Ravens have been putting up points.
Like Detroit for their defensive problems still has a great offense.
And the bills lead the league and scoring.
But here's the thing with the Cowboys, why I say no.
One, they don't have much of a run game.
As much as I like Giovante Williams, statistically.
They're 25th.
Yeah.
So they just haven't.
He had three touchdowns, three short touchdowns.
But they put up points.
they have played very poor defenses.
Washington is the 30th ranked defense in the league, put up 37 on them.
Baltimore is the 19th ranked defense, put up 31 on them.
And Houston's 26 for all their image and reputation.
They put up 34 on them.
The one defense they played in the top 10, not granted, it was the first week, but still,
the one defense they played in the top 10, the Giants who are eighth, they scored 20 points.
So I cannot call them the absolute best offense yet.
And then, Nick, there is this.
Oh, wow.
This.
Let's see what it is.
Dusty, are you with me?
Dusty, the graphic.
It ain't even a graphic.
Come on.
What is it?
There's a video of their gaffes at the end of the Ravens game.
Oh, okay.
Oh, well, you can't be the best offense in the league
when Dak ran off 40 seconds, just nonchalantly.
and then he threw it away with 10 seconds left.
No, I can't call you the best defense offense in the league
just three weeks or two weeks after that.
So it's counterargument.
As far as how many points they score for each time they have the ball,
they are the best offense.
But that's not how ultimately how it's measured.
Usually it's total points scored, I get it.
That's a Kenny Atkinson.
No, it's not quite a thing.
Because these are actual points.
Like, it's not theoretical point.
And so I went a little deeper than just that graphic in the history of the 12 highest point per drive season since the merger.
Like, and here's what they have in common, or here's what they are.
Aren't they first?
Yeah, but that's what I'm saying.
Since the merger, yeah, not just the century.
Okay, so maybe since the merger.
We did the century.
Okay, so, no, but I'm, so I'm doing since the century, no, since the century.
of the century, the 12 highest.
It is Matt Ryan's MVP season,
Lamar's first MVP season,
Drew Breeze in 2018 when he finished second an MVP to Mahomes,
Drew Breeze in 2011 when he almost won MVP,
Aaron Rogers in 2020 when he won MVP,
the 2024 Lions, the Ben Johnson Lions year,
golf didn't come close to winning MVP,
another MVP, Mahomes season,
a Brady MVP season,
and then the two years, Josh Allen this year,
Brock Party this year and the Cowboys this year.
The reason there's three from this season is it's harder to stay on this late in the year
when games get colder and all of those things.
But the point that I am making is if the Cowboys keep this up,
which is no guarantee, DAC will be proven right.
Dak will be proving himself right.
And history says he has a real good shot at being the league MVP
because of it.
Let me ask you, if they do, let's say they're the best team in this century,
points per possession.
Yeah.
But their second or third highest scoring team in the league.
I think that's pretty,
would you say?
I mean, I just think that's probably unlikely.
I mean, if their defense can't get off the field, then they're not going to have the
ball as much.
And they're so they just get fewer possessions.
And you could technically say they're still the best offense.
But like right now, I don't know where the bills are in points per possession.
But they're the high.
They are.
They're third.
Their third.
So it's Cowboys, Niners, Bills, and the bills are also 10th this century in points per possession.
So it's, and again, those numbers, there's a lot of teams probably that through four weeks had similar numbers.
They cooled off.
But listen, Dax, if we're going to be fair, yes, he wore the Super Bowl shirt and he had the Super Bowl alarm clock or whatever.
But the Godi thing that we've talked about was not the greatest offense of all time.
who was the greatest, he was saying,
we want to be the league's number one offense.
And despite the fact that they don't have a great running game,
despite the fact that the defense is only forced two turnovers,
they are certainly in, you can make an argument,
they do have the best offense in the league.
And Dak and the passing game are the reason for that.
So in that regard, he kind of called his shot
and is in route to calling his shot correctly.
They definitely have the best wide receiver duo.
I think they're better than Cincinnati.
Because I think Pickens is better than Higgins.
And they're certainly healthier than Cincinnati.
Yeah.
And in four or five weeks, maybe this will, it will be true.
But right now, I can't say that definitive.
First thing's first classic.
The Cowboys play the Bucks on Thursdays.
It's going to be the third game in 11 days.
To watch out.
Third game in 11 days.
Why is it being written about?
Third game.
Third game in 11 days.
It's basically a game every three and a half days.
Just so you know, every Thursday night game is almost every Thursday night game is the third game in 12 days.
It's one less than.
Huge difference.
Okay.
In 12 days, it'd be Thursday.
Okay.
Also, one of the games was in Rio, so I don't know how that works.
Bears head to Lambo for the first time, well, this year.
And for the first time in 20 years.
They played Sunday.
It's just Sunday, Sunday, Thursday.
That's just normal.
Hey, man, I'm telling you.
That's just how Thursdays back for.
Bears headed to Lambo.
We're moving on.
And for the first time in 20 years, their favorites.
Caleb's back?
No, not even practicing.
Vegas expects Tyson Baygent to lead Ben Johnson's offense over Jordan Love and the Packers.
What does this historic move in the favorites say more about?
The Bears are the Packers?
That even if it is begrudgingly for some of us, and I say,
us because I
agree with some
of KW's
critiques of Ben Johnson
not as a person
but his smug, I'll use
my words, not yours. This smugness
and the... Huberous I use.
Huberous, yeah. And clever. A little look at me, Louis
stuff. That for the
time being, he
is proving himself right.
He is... I mean, they had
three points. They did have three points. They did have three
points in a game. They also, in their first game of the year, scored 59. They then with a 38-year-old
third-string quarterback, scored 27. They then, the following week, with a backup quarterback, had more
first downs than the other team had plays run. They had 34 first downs. I don't think the Bears,
without Caleb, have elite across-the-board talent. I think they have good, I think they have
young receivers that can be good but are unproven.
Like I like Luther Burd and I like Roma Dunes Day,
but they're not anywhere close to, you know,
stamp top 10 receivers.
They have a young, tight-in Colston Loveland,
but they didn't seem to be using that much.
They have a fine running back in D'Andre Swift.
And a nice, again, a lot of nice players,
but it's not like, oh, my God,
this embarrassment of riches.
And the best thing they have going for them right now
is their offensive play caller and play designer
who happens to be the head coach.
So even if some of the stuff can rub you the wrong way,
this is a massive, massive compliment to the head coach
and the fact that we're discussing it
when he's going up against his rival coach.
The guys who don't really like each other,
it would appear in LaFleur,
and LaFleur can't get it right
with his starting quarterback at least this year.
I think is a bit of an indictment on that end.
So I think it says way more about the head coach of the Bears,
who on this show can be a little nauseating to talk about
because Danny is so in love with him, but Ben Johnson.
I think it says way more about the Packers.
I think this is all about the Packers.
Now, the Bears are having a good season,
and Ben Johnson is a very good play caller and coach thus far.
But I do want to slow down on all the praise on Ben Johnson
for winning two games with backup quarterbacks.
the Vikings won what, four straight with four different quarterbacks.
Any of them any good?
I mean, like, really, like the Vikings scored 39 points with their backup quarterback,
Carson Wentz, against these very Packers.
So, I mean, look, I'm not trying to say Ben Johnson isn't a great play caller,
but I do want to slow down because, again, I saw Brian Flores undressing, all right, period,
with his superstar to be quarterback.
So this to me is because the Packers are no good.
And the reason it's first time in 20 years is because for the bulk of these last two decades,
the Bears haven't been very good and the Packers have been a very good team.
That's it.
And now the Packers lost, they're just a poor team.
What are they?
Two and seven since Micah went down.
We know they can't beat anybody with Mike.
I mentioned Minnesota and Carson Wentz putting 39 on them.
They barely beat Tampa Bay with.
With its backup quarterback last week, they barely beat, was it the Jets?
I mean, they're a bad team at this point.
And the Bears are a good team.
So I don't want to, like, rip, I'm not ripping Ben Johnson.
I just think all of this, oh my gosh, look at what he's done with Case Keenham and Tyson Bayesian.
We're seeing that all around the league.
And we're also seeing the opposite all around the league.
But we're seeing a lot of backups win games.
I would argue not the way the Bears have won the last two weeks.
We did see...
Marcus Marriota beat Seattle.
And that is an example.
That is a checkmark in that column.
We also saw the Giants go to James and score seven points.
But then they just score.
How many they just score?
30.
Yeah, 30 because they had the pick six at the end.
We also saw Atlanta be in a situation where backup quarterback and then third string,
and they got beat by 30 by Carolina.
I thought it was three.
I was wrong.
KW was right.
It was they got beat 30.
four to three, and that was
Stefanski, who he thinks good.
And a good offensive play caller and is like, man, I am just,
you just said one of the, the only reason
Green Bay got one of their wins is because the other team
had a backup quarterback in there.
And so.
No, I'm just saying he's not the only one.
He's not the only one.
I would argue that I don't know how many other coaches.
It's one thing to find, to manufacture a win
with your backup quarterback.
quarterback.
It's another thing to have the offense not really miss a beat.
Yeah, humming.
Case Keenham, that game, that offense looked amazing.
Seattle with Drew Locke.
They, you know, credit to their offensive coaching staff.
They were humming offensively.
And then with Tyson Bajent, I mean, I know they only scored 23.
They got stopped at the one once.
But they were, they had the ball for 43 minutes.
And so I just think it's really impressive.
And I got to give the guy credit.
Green Bay is 12 and 3 against the Bears since Matt LaFlor took over his head coach.
He needs this win.
Bad, bad.
Real bad.

Must win.
Coach still winless, but I heard he self-soucouted over the last two weeks.
Coach wants this battle.
First up, America's Game of the Week on Fox, undefeated 49ers, underdogs when they visit the Super Bowl champs in Seattle.
Seahawks won two of three last year, including a 41 to 6 laugh.
in the playoffs.
Coach, believe it or not, Greg won must win.
A bit of a gift, a bit of a gift.
But I wanted to make Brew strive even harder.
So you control the board.
Do you want to pass or play?
I want to give it the savvy move.
Seahawks 49ers must win.
Because he didn't even want to do this one.
So you're doing this so you get to go first on the last one.
You get that, okay?
The savvy move.
Does that's how you want to do it?
I wanted to make sure.
That's great.
I wanted to go first here.
This is a must win for Brock Purdy's chances to ascend to Mahomes Mountain and stay atop
Brues Ballet.
On the mountain who's standing between him and the top, Patrick Mahomes.
On Bruce Ballad, who's nipping at his heels, Kenneth Walker.
What are both those guys doing this weekend?
Kicking their feet up, relaxing, hanging out, seeing family, on a bye week.
So if Brock Purdy goes to Seattle, continues his brilliant play, and the Niners get a win,
And not only would I assume his spot on Bruce ballot is totally secure,
but it would be very hard to argue he shouldn't become, I think, the ninth man ever
to be atop the summit of Mahomes Mountain.
Great start.
And so it's all in front of him right there.
It is a must win for Brock Purdy for those reasons.
That's big for our show.
But for Purdy, it's bigger than that.
What did Purdy's former backup do last week?
or last year.
It played great.
Won the Super Bowl.
Oh, his back.
Oh, his former backup.
Sam Darnel.
Okay, I thought you were talking about.
Now, Darnel's not playing as well this year.
It's early.
Only three games for him.
But if I'm Brock Purdy,
Brock needs to go out and put his foot down.
We made the right choice.
Just because my backup won the Super Bowl,
you could have got him a lot cheaper.
You made the right choice by God.
going with me.
No one even has that storyline.
You're right.
That's a lot of people talking about the Vikings.
That was a,
no one's talking about that.
Coach that didn't even cross coaches.
That the Niners didn't move on to Brock Purdy for their third.
Could have kept Darnold.
No one's,
it's interesting.
Shanahan compared,
did he compare Brock Purdy to Steve Yow or Sam Dern?
And he was.
So Brock needs to go out and just put his foot down.
I'm the better quarterback.
Wow.
That's pretty good.
I like that.
Unique, smart?
Yeah, that was a cute start.
This is a must get that taste out of your mouth game.
Okay, so if they win the game, they're up to, they're up two on Seattle, right?
So that's one thing.
Brock Purdy's 4 in one Seattle, best of any visiting quarterback in history, okay, up in Seattle.
So that's nice too.
But what's his one loss?
A beat down in the playoffs, so there's that the week before they lost too.
So in those combined games, they had nine total points.
They've scored 122 this past year.
Then they go, Seattle adds insult to injury,
kind of like the Ravens where you walk in
and you sit on someone's couch and you make a sandwich.
They win the Super Bowl in their stadium
with the backup quarterback.
And then on Sunday, it's Steve Young's birthday.
He's going to turn 65 years old and be ready for Medicaid.
And that's the last guy that won a Super Bowl for Seattle.
Are you going to ruin his birthday?
Those little things.
Just right at the end.
An early lead.
An early lead for coach.
Just real quick.
If I can throw a little challenge flag,
if you do review it at the very end,
I do believe coach said Steve Young,
the last person to win a Super Bowl for Seattle.
Uh-oh.
So I, so I,
Giannis spoke.
Miss, miss.
You know what?
I'm just telling.
I appreciate that,
but it's a lot of time.
It's just the flavor.
Did you guys not understand?
I still got it.
I still got it.
So I didn't get the point.
No, I was speaking about our show.
Coach was humming.
Meanwhile in LA, last week, the bills lost their game in the last two minutes at home.
The Rams won their game in the last two minutes on the road against the Eagles.
Battle of the last two MVP's.
Brew, you're up.
Bill's Rams, must win?
It's a must win for the Rams.
I know they just got a victory, but they're reeling.
They are reeling.
You beat an Eagles team and you struggle to beat that Eagles team that itself is reeling.
And you got embarrassed by San Francisco.
What type of team are they going to be?
If they lose this game, this is huge.
And really for Matthew Stafford, is it over?
Six interceptions.
If it wasn't for Drake May, he'd lead the league in interceptions.
Coach, you're up.
Must win for the ring.
Okay, this is the rare triple must win.
For the bills, the bills defense, and for Monday night football.
So for the bills, they haven't really beaten anybody.
Their wins have come against teams that are combined two in ten.
So that's one component of it.
If the bills lose and the Pats win, Pats take the lead in the division.
Hello.
It's that component of it.
The bill's defense, they've given up 31 points against the Texans, 29 points against New England,
who had scored a combined 29 points prior to that.
Then the last time they played there, what did Josh Allen do?
Six touchdowns, 42 points, and they lost.
They lost that game, 44, 42.
You've got the whole component of the interceptions that they've been dealing with there.
So all those questions.
And the final thing with Monday Night Football, they've all been blowouts,
terrible for the ratings.
They need a good game.
Wow.
20-point blowouts in every Monday Night Football game.
Wow.
They need to win.
Good.
It's great.
Coach, if you get this point, I won't begrudge.
That was great performance by you.
But the right answer is this is a must win for the multitude of Josh Allen friends and
it's sometimes it seems family in the media.
Because there is nothing they like more than on a Tuesday morning after a solo nationally
televised.
Oh yeah.
To be able to look right into the camera and say, I'm telling you, no one's ever played the
position like this guy. No one's ever been better at the one-yard touchdown run. No one's ever
had a rushing champ in the Sacks leader and the best offensive line in football been able to
carry that team to a win over struggling Los Angeles Rams team. Forget the fact that the last
two weeks we've been talking about his errors costing the team. Nobody plays the game like him.
They are so excited to do it. And all that's standing between them and being able to do that
Tuesday morning is the Los Angeles Rams. So it's a must win for those folks.
Coach up to nothing.
Wow.
But coach, hold your horses because this one,
and some people say it's a flaw in the structure of the show,
is worth three.
Finally, head to Foxborough.
The Wilde family will be in the building for Raiders Patriots.
This is, you're going to Raiders, Pat's?
Well, I went to Raiders Steelers.
I know, but also Raiders Patch was where
the Mac Jones Siff arm happened.
I was in Las Vegas.
We got these tickets thinking it would be an easy win.
Oh, sure, the Raiders, hapless.
Wrong.
Three and one.
Coach, you're leading us off here.
Must win?
Yeah, this is a must win for the Pats.
They need to get rebrands from their week one loss of Raiders last season.
And Nick loves it when I bring in videotape.
And I'm bringing videotape from last year.
They've got to be able to get over plays like this.
If they're going to win, if we could roll that, that would be really helpful.
Yes.
Yes.
Finally, we get some.
From a few years ago.
That was a mix-up.
This is a gutsy play.
This is a gutsy play for the final round.
Win the game, Buffalo loses, number one, the division.
Nothing else needs to be said.
This is a must build on the small but real building blocks of last week for Drayton.
I went back and rewatch KW all of Drake.
Drake May's fumbles, including the one that got overturned.
He still had a problem last week just handling the ball.
The interception was bad luck.
That one I won't put on him, but he got maybe a little lucky not to lose more fumbles than he did.
He still, despite last week's performance, the very rare NFL leader in interceptions
and NFL leader in fumbles for the season is Drake May.
But we saw real progress last week.
This Raiders defense is one that can get got.
We saw Tyquan Thornton before he went down have the best game of his career.
A Chief's team that lost its number one receiver on the first drive of the game,
still move the ball up and down the field.
If we want to fully know that Drake May is over the post-Super Bowl malaise
and that Drake May, who may or may not believe in the moon landing,
but did finish second in MVP voting last year
is fully over whatever it was that was bothering him in his shoulder.
We need to see a clean, solid game for him.
That's the most important thing.
Solid analysis.
It is a must win for the Patriots.
Wow, everyone's saying this.
Because the question is this, was last week, coach,
a fluke or forecast?
The fluky divisional game, right?
I mean, anything can happen in a divisional.
game.
You're used to each other.
Who know,
upsets happen all the time in
divisional games.
Or was it a forecast
of a revival of last season
when you guys started one and two
and then won 13 of your final 14 games
to make the Super Bowl?
Is that what we are witnessing this season?
We'll find out.
And Drake was last week the start of something new?
You're just saying what coach said what I said.
Is Drake's shoulder still hurt?
Or is Afton Chisholm?
Get off the name him proper now.
Or is Efton Chisholm going to turn back into a pumpkin?
Or is he for real?
Is he a new West Welker or something?
Because he came out of nowhere.
He's a practice squad where and turned into Cinderella.
He was never on the practice squad.
He became Cinderella last.
He was never on the breakfast while.
It's pretty easy to decide that just it's always about analysis and who can be the most clever.
Brew takes it.
They can be laugh.
Yes.
Yes.
It was funny.
Coach came out too strong, the first two had nothing left.
It was an outrage.
You're going to really upset coach.
Coach put so much work in this.
He knows.
Coach knows.
Coach knows it's all about the bonus pick.
Yeah.
The last one.
We're having a blast now.
The red, white, and blue ball.
Can I ask a quick follow-up question?
My idea was to go with the tuck rule at the end to show positive tape.
But my coordinator said if I just showed that video.
I think that was a bad call.
No, that was a bad call.
That was a bad call.
I would not have put it on.
I said, I said, Wilde is going to.
to hate this.
The tuck rule would have been great.
And I was gonna show the tuck.
Yeah, it's a great Patriots' Rage's moment.
Guess what?
This is the video I was a show.
No.
No, I would have.
Not with a tuck rule.
No, no.
I was part of Wilde's as, you know.
Yeah, war.
Yes.
I was an Aspen.
Can we get a review?
Can coach get a win, please?
No.
Yeah, we'll see him in two weeks.
That's the way it goes.
This is the most biased segment in the history.
You gotta know, you gotta have your best stuff
for that bonus ball.
Vikings are undefeated.
That's the good news.
The bad news?
Their offense has been historically bad.
Half of their games, they haven't scored a touchdown.
A feat last accomplished in 1923 by the Chicago Cardinals, a baseball team.
Now, they did take a knee to close out the Dolphins games.
That's kind of an asterisk.
Never less, stat stands.
Alec Lewis's article in The Athletic, do the four-and-o Vikings have a
a Kyler Murray problem despite their win over the dolphins.
Same question here.
Only three teams are undefeated.
The Vikings have a Kyler Murray problem.
Yes, of course.
Listen, I get it.
Back when we were wearing masks,
Kyler threw a sick Hail meard to DeAndre Hopkins.
And back when he was sick, that was sick.
And back when he was in high school,
was the greatest player in the history of the state of Texas,
and he was a great college player.
But in the last half decade of professional,
football. We have no evidence he's a plus quarterback over the bulk of the season, but at least
what he's typically given you as good starts of years and then petered off. That hasn't even
happened here. Here's Kyler's ranks for the year. And it's stunning that you could have
this quarterback play in B4 and O, but that is a testament to Brian Flores and a testament to the defense.
So yes, I think they have a Kyler Murray problem. I don't think it's fixable because Carson
wins is not going to be the solution. I also think,
And we can put a pin in this conversation, but we should revisit the whole quarterback whisperer designation Kevin O'Connell's gotten.
Kirk Cousins had six stats under Mike Zimmer, who seemed to hate the quarterbacks in general.
He's a defensive guy.
I think he resented that they existed.
And Kurt Cousins was good after Mike Zimmer with Kevin O'Connell.
Oh, look what he got with Sam Darnold.
Sam Darnold then was just as good, down with another defensive head coach in Seattle.
And they couldn't get anything out of JJ.
Kyle's not elevating.
It's early, but we'll see.
So, yeah, I just, the reason I don't believe in the Vikings
is because I don't think they're going to have a legitimate offense coach.
Yeah, I thought this was a problem when they first made the move.
And I know a lot of people talked about, okay, this is going to be the difference now.
Now the Vikings are set.
They're going to make a deep run.
But even early on, there was like the talk about not getting enough reps in camp
and how he can't progress, you know, as much as he'd like to.
So that was a little bit of an issue.
I always felt like if you're going to get a guy like Kyler, you better cater the offense to a guy like Kyler and make sure you're doing what he does really well.
But it doesn't seem like that's been the case.
And he doesn't, he's not built like any of the other quarterbacks that have played there.
They've all been 6-3, 6-5, 6-3 right on down the line.
And as much as they may not pivot to Carson Wentz, they may pivot to Carson Wentz.
He played better.
Yeah, just pull up what they did in the, you know, in the two.
comparative starts. So 7.1 versus 6.1. Then there's the air yard completion, TD to interception,
pass rating. Kyle is rating at 73. That's that's the bottom of the league. There's going to come a point
where collectively in that building, guys are going to start saying we need something different.
And either they're going to have to change the scheme to some degree or they're going to have to
change the quarterback. You could see them changing the quarterback if they're six
It's very rare. Like, hey, we're 6 and 0, we're making a quarterback change.
Well, it just depends on, is it 6 and 0 continuing along this path? How much of consistent
performance in a negative way. Not scoring touchdowns is tough.
Well, yeah, and I think the fact that just a few years ago, what were they, what was there,
15 and 2 was it? Or that they're 14 and 3? Oh, with Darnell.
A couple years ago with Donald. So they won't be fooled by a gaudy record. Like, I would say if
they're 6 and 0, like they could have easy.
kept Carson Wins as the starter.
Not that he was playing great, but they could have been.
I don't think they could have.
You don't really?
They could have just been like, hey, right now we're 2 and 0.
Which I understand.
But when you make the move for Kyler and then you move on from JJ,
you're sending a pretty strong message that this is a guy that we believe in.
But they don't have a financial commitment.
Right.
That's what thing.
I agree that they're bending over backwards to make Kyler successful or at least give him the chance.
I agree with that.
So I think coach,
They will keep him as the starter for the next few games at least.
And if he doesn't improve, maybe they'll go to wins.
But they just got a QB problem.
If they had kept Darno, they might be the Seattle Seahawks right now.
They might be the Defendant Super Bowl champion.
That defense.
But if you're ownership now, so they moved on from Donald, they drafted J.J. McCarthy.
Then the next answer is Kyler Murray.
You're starting to say, okay, are you going to make the right decision with the quarterback?
No, that's because they think about Daniel Jones.
I mean, if they had him, they'd be a contender probably.
There's another, and that's what costs the GM his job.
Yeah.
I'm feeling very good about my NFC North pick, which is who?
The Viking.
Oh.
I think that Kyler will start to score a touchdown every once in a while.
And Brian Flores' defense is top notch.
We talked a lot about the fluctuation.
You think they're a better position than the bears right now?
Yes.
Okay.
I think that if they have another matchup,
uh,
this,
in Minnesota,
I have,
I have,
I trust Brian Flores to.
I don't think what the Vikings is doing is sustainable.
And I don't think,
I don't think,
I don't,
I don't,
I think failing to score a touchdown against the Miami Dolphins is a three
alarm fire.
I think that the,
I mean,
I think,
I just, I think,
do you think they can't,
like,
they could win the division.
Oh, yes, they could, but they wouldn't need.
No, no, no, no, I think the Bears, even though they have the game in hand on the Bears and the Bears' quarterbacks hurt, I just, what the Bears, the Bears, the last, what they've shown me without Caleb is, that defense is not going to be the worst defense in football like we thought it might be, and the offense is going to work.
This might be the worst offense in football.
Can I give you one more stat?
This is just very interesting.
I'll just say it.
We can move on.
If they win the turnover battle, Kevin O'Connell is 39 and four.
It's really good.
It's like, hey, just don't turn the ball over.
We're 39 and 4.
We can win 7 to 3.
Live from New York, it's a show that's congratulating Brew on yet another must-win victory.
Congratulations, Brew is the highlight of the first hour.
Run in it this year.
Coach, excellent job by you very close.
You were hot early, coach.
Those first two were fantastic.
They were really big.
Again, slight flaw in the structure of must-win.
And the final one is worth three.
So you really just need to focus.
Sometimes as a head coach, you've got to overrule your coordinators when they
Wow, he's really mad at Ramsey.
I was Ramsey.
Wow.
It's like, got to have it play.
It's going to work.
Second hour of first things first.
Today, can Jalen Hertz carry the Eagles playing in London against the Prince?
And there's all sorts of roster moves he's going to have to deal with.
Meanwhile, can a home stadium?
be too loud.
Well, maybe for the bills.
You got it.
You guys got to be kidding.
This is my favorite story of the day.
I got to be kidding me with this story.
Hey, I like it.
But right now,
let me get you caught up to speed
on what's been going on.
Last night,
while making sure Parkins didn't steal
any of his own luggage,
an elite group of analysts,
savants,
and people looked for my baseball card.
I had a baseball card.
We looked for it.
Didn't find it.
Fought and toiled and burned the midnight oil to deliver the best segment in all sports.
It's an honor and it's a privilege.
It's time for the committee and Nick's tears.
Indeed it is.
Thank you as always, Kevin Wilde's.
Somewhat sanguine day for the tears.
Oh, yeah, why?
Oh, man.
Our 32 team tears dropped to 30 this week.
Oh, no.
As for the first time in the 2026 season, we have had a couple of eliminations.
If you're wondering who they are,
it's exactly who we would have guessed
before the season started.
Titans and dolphins are out of here.
And here's the thing.
The dolphins want to be bad.
The Titans are trying to take a leap.
Not going great.
And Robert Salas got to be feeling like,
man, I went,
Zach Wilson was my quarterback.
First time I got to be a head coach.
Cam Moore is my quarterback.
Second time I get to be a head coach.
Not great.
Speaking of elimination.
only one team facing elimination this week,
despite three teams being O and four,
and that is the Texans.
I can't believe this.
Here's why.
Wow.
They're playing the Titans.
If they fall to O and 5 by losing to the Titans,
their seasons over.
That's a good point.
You know, like the, and it just means they're,
we just have to accept their bad.
And they've packed it in.
They're bad.
It's over.
I don't expect it to happen.
They missed their window.
Well, evidently.
Window clothes.
All of a sudden.
The other two O and Ford teams, honestly, I don't want them to be facing elimination because one,
I still kind of believe in and the other I want to be able to keep talking about.
Hot seat season, Chargers bucks.
I don't know if it's Harbaugh or McDaniel or Justin Herbert or who it is, but somebody's got
to pay.
There's got to be, you can't have legitimate Superal.
aspirations. Everyone's talking about how great the roster is. Mike McDaniel's going to revolutionize
things with his fancy sneakers and his sick watch and you're 0 and 4 and he's lost seven games in a
row with the whole thing's disaster. For Tampa, it's pretty clearly Todd Bulls. I like Todd Bulls.
Things a good defensive head coach, but they feel like they have been in a slump since this time
last year. Hot seat season. Not see. Briefly tricked us. That's a great title.
Thank you.
We're in tight.
They're like, oh, oh my God, the Cardinals.
Look, the Cardinals beat the Chargers.
They must be legit.
No, the Chargers are just awful.
Jets one week one, they must be legit.
No, they were just playing the Titans or the Dolphins
or somebody awful.
I don't even remember.
The commanders, they gave Philly all they could handle.
So does everybody.
So does the Titans.
Exactly.
Briefly tricked us.
They were bad.
Commander did win another.
They won one game.
They beat Seattle.
They won one game.
They won one game.
QB might be back, though.
We'll see.
For the time being, they're in the briefly tricked us to you.
That's right.
KW, what is this?
Not the standings.
I was not.
Thank you.
I was going to do that part, but you got it.
Not the standings.
They're both three and one.
They're not good.
Now, the Giants are admirable and not letting their season fall apart and do their
quarterback going down.
I will give them credit for that.
But I don't believe they're a good team.
The Browns, I think they have drafted really well over the last couple years,
and I will give them, they have a lot of young players.
I don't think they're a good team either, which is why, if you want the standings, what do you do?
Go to your local hotel right next to the breakfast bar and the omelette station.
Yeah.
USA Today, pick it up.
Grab it.
Grab the USA Today today.
And you'll see the giants and the Browns.
Oh, definitely.
Oh, yeah.
Go online.
No, to make it a awful station.
Rata in.
It's all covered with waffle.
outside of it.
Decidedly mediocre.
Pat Packer and Steelers Saints.
That's where they are.
They're not bad and maybe they'll turn it.
I know this pained you, K-W.
I'll do it later.
I'm not talking.
Okay.
They are decided.
All three of these teams are two and two.
All three of these teams.
I was like, eh, they had one.
What did I get wrong?
The Saints are one and three.
Oh, sorry me.
The Saints are one and three.
The first three teams are two and two.
They are mediocre.
But they're all decidedly mediocre.
The Saints, honestly, at one and three are the most exciting group of the bunch.
It feels like they're two and three.
Yeah, because Tyler Shucks the pitch of the ball all around the field.
Blinging it.
The rare one team tier in the middle of the tiers.
Everything's on the table.
The Philadelphia Eagles.
Classic one.
Could they could?
A couple years ago, Sirianney's yellow.
on it fans, they needed a huge escape to beat the Saints, they're two and two, they're going to
win the Super Bowl. That did happen. Remember, Sequin fumbled early in the year, lost him a game.
It's all, so I guess it's on the table. Lane Johnson's retirement, everyone writing them off
is a rallying point, Jalen Hertz, like, let me show you guys what I've got. Suppose it's on the
table. Also on the table, that 2 and O turns into 2 and 5, and we start hearing about
players only meetings
and Siriani's job security
and the team realizing, you know what?
We probably have to take
our salary cap medicine this offseason
and do a full reboot.
Everything is on the table.
You have our attention.
Falcons, Panthers,
Colts. I was ready to write them off.
They lost the Ravens and the Chiefs.
And the Chiefs game was super close.
It went to overtime.
Daniel Jones looks healthier.
Jonathan Taylor's really good.
Got my attention.
Bryce Young trying to prove me dead wrong and, you know, is on his way to doing it.
Falcons always had my attention.
They were hibernating, but they're back now with Michael Pinnock's.
Race to 30 or maybe 35.
Lions and Cowboys.
Every game they play, you better get to 30.
You probably need to get to 35 to win.
I said it about the Lions before the year.
I will say it again.
They will not win a game this year.
They don't score 30 points.
The same thing might apply to down.
where elite offenses, truly elite offenses, but that's their only way to win.
Should be way better.
Now, these teams I'm certain are all two and two.
Tell me if I'm wrong, KW, but I'm certain of it.
But I feel like they should be way better.
The Bengals spent all that money on defense supposed to improve the offensive line.
I thought they did.
Chase Brown's good.
They can't run the ball.
The Broncos have 13 first half points.
13.
We're in October.
And the Rams are very fortunate not to be one and three.
They still have a lot of talent on these rosters.
I'm not writing them off, but they all should be better than they are right now.
Building breathing room, the 3-1 Raiders and the 4-0 Vikings.
I do not know if these teams are quite as good as those records suggest.
But by getting off to these hot starts, they have given themselves enough margin of error
that even if I don't think either one's going to win their division,
they should be able to sustain a spot in the season
where they might lose three out of four
and still be right in the mix for a wild card birth of playoff berth.
Drew, you're going to hate this one, but it's accurate.
All two familiar feelings.
You're a Buffalo Bills fan.
All off-season.
You're like, this is the best team we've ever had.
The first couple weeks of the year,
it looks like it, and Josh Allen's playing better than ever.
Then a head scratching loss, a few too many turnovers, some hero ball.
It's like, wait a minute.
Maybe this roster's not that goody after all.
You're a Ravens fan.
It's different this year.
Lamar's dialed in Derek.
Henry's there.
We're certainly not going to figure about handing him the ball.
We're not going to blow these big leads.
We're going to have Lamar for 17 games.
Blow a double-digit lead.
Lamar has like Schrodinger's ankle.
We don't know if it's a high ankle, low ankle.
We don't know what it is.
and vibes are all of a sudden off, not to mention,
some people believe in a certain political curse
that may or may not be afflicting the Ravens
as we speak, all too familiar feelings.
Multitudes of excellence, jags and bears.
Right now they're good at everything.
And I'm shocked the Bears' defense applies here,
but the Bears' defense has played three consecutive excellent games.
Granted, the first one, 500 flights were canceled out of O'Hare.
So, you know, what does it matter?
But the Jags have been really good in every facet of the game.
Leon Cohen's been brilliant.
Trevor's obviously been brilliant.
They're using Travis Hunter the way coach told him to a long time ago.
Bears won in backup quarterbacks.
America's game in the week, literally this Sunday afternoon, 425 Eastern on Fox.
It also is the two best teams in the NFC.
It's also the four, maybe the hottest team so far this season.
and then a Seahawks team that I believe is now won 13 of 14 games.
They would in most years, coach, be the two best teams in the league.
But the committee warned you all offseason when it refused to drop the chiefs
down to the dregs of the other five, six, seven win teams.
The single biggest acquisition made in the NFL this summer was Kenneth Walker.
And through the first month of the season, the single biggest acquisition made in the NFL this summer,
or maybe the last five summers since Matthew Stafford joined the Rams is Kenneth Walker.
That's been a good take. I feel like you don't get enough credit for that. You know what? I feel
like I don't get good enough credit for a lot of my takes. But thank you, Kate. That's the tears.
Go ahead. I think that's an excellent take too. And I'm actually comfortable with Kansas City being on top because of that take.
And that's why I wasn't comfortable with it in my home phone. But you know, that was.
But overall, pretty solid group of tears.
Where I disagree is where you have the Rams.
Probably they should be more in the area with the Bills and the Ravens.
I think that's more in line with that because this is a familiar feeling for them.
You guys probably forget, but back in 2020, they were 3 and 6.
And things didn't look good.
Then they won seven straight games.
2024, they were 1 and 4, went on to win the division title.
So they've had some problem with starting slow, and then they figured it out.
And when you look at this team across the board, forget about the first game.
They still have jet lag from that game in Australia.
Let's throw that out.
Denver, they were up big and let that slip away.
And collectively, Jalen Watson, he got hurt.
Yes.
He's probably coming back.
It was a big loss.
It was a big loss, but they're still second best in past defense.
Donald and Garrett haven't played one snap together.
So there, you know, once that starts to unfold, I think we're going to see real difference there.
Pooka Nuku, that was his first game back last week.
I'm worried about him, though.
Look, I am too, but we could say that about every 49ers player.
No, that's fair.
And listen, Kairn's been unbelievable.
And Trent McDuffie's been the best corner in the league this year.
There is one thing that I may have gotten wrong, and that I kept saying he's the best slot corner in the league.
They're going to play them on the outside.
I don't know if it's going to work.
It is working.
He has been absolutely brilliant.
Yeah, so they're playing that well in past.
defense without two guys that can generate a ton of pass rush.
The biggest issue has been the giveaway takeaway ratio at minus five.
That to me is something that is controllable.
And so you got them a little bit too low and they're probably more in familiar territory
than where you have them because there has been a history of slow starts with this team.
Yeah, but I don't, I understand all that.
With that said, if the Eagles don't botch the snap, they're down 2710 and they're one and three.
Like I just, and so, you're right.
They've been that before.
You don't throw a pick.
No, that's fair.
No, no, no, that's fair.
I just, it hasn't quite felt right for me, but maybe it's because they haven't been
a whole year.
And I imagine you're also a little bit of victim of like everybody.
Expectation.
Yes.
So you're grading at a curve.
That's fair.
Drew.
I mean, as it is every week, the titles are just fantastic.
They are really.
Hats off to Myron.
Yeah.
Just excellent job.
He keeps it.
Is it my?
I know it's an M, an odd name with an M.
It's not that odd.
It's not that odd.
It's not that odd.
It's not.
Oh, it's Marshall.
How many marshals you know?
Well, there's a story.
First name, first name Marshall.
This is a last name.
But anyway, he did a good job.
Bonus take.
Bonus take.
I thought that was the bonus take.
Look, I know everybody loves Seattle.
They're too high.
They're not repeating.
Wow.
What a tape?
Because the only players to repeat quarterbacks this century,
Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady.
Yes, but they could get back to the Super Bowl and be that high.
Seattle did that.
Look, they lost to Washington with Marcus Marriola playing quarterback.
I get it.
It's one week.
But Donald is not looking great yet.
We'll see if he does.
He's got three interceptions and three games.
A 17-pick pace if he played all 17.
It sounds like a guarantee.
I feel like Bruce upset alert is going to be party.
That was just a bonus take.
That was just the bonus thing.
So, but for my real take, what is this?
Going back to my hometown.
I thought that was a cabs button.
Well, that, there is a calves button.
This is a different button.
I bet it's the same button.
Leave love.
This is for you.
You want to try it?
I saw Brew take this out of the desk.
Yeah.
And I thought there was an 80% chance that he did not tell the producers about.
Me too.
I saw it as well.
And I thought he was going to hit it and be like, why is it not playing?
And I'm like, it's not going to work.
Yeah.
And it's going to be my great come up.
It's just works, period.
Yes.
Well, I don't believe.
All right.
It's nothing to do with the producers.
I don't believe in the Browns, although I do like what Todd Munkin's got a little.
Hold on.
He's a little anti.
Hit the button.
Do it.
Okay.
You just ruined it because you said you don't believe in the crowd.
There's no way it was going to work for you.
Go give your analysis.
Okay.
You can do his.
Look, look, I'm not saying the Browns are.
are definitely making the playoffs.
I'm saying they should move up a little bit.
I think the Browns are tough.
First of all, we'll see.
It's his first really good game probably since he's been a Brown,
Deshawn Watson.
But he kind of looked, I won't say as good as Houston, Deshawn,
but he looked good.
That was the best he has played in a half decade.
Yes.
That part is true.
He's had three game winning drives in their three wins.
Obviously, Jacksonville stomped him,
but they beat a good Pittsburgh team.
You said it
The last two drafts have been fantastic for them
Good nice group of running backs that run hard
They got a decent receiver
Seems like their young receivers this year
Yeah they I mean they've got some talent on it
If Deshawn can
Be good
He doesn't have to be good
If he's the 20th best quarterback
They'll be in the mix
Yeah they can stay in the playoff picture
I mean that division I do think the Ravens
Their separation with them
But the other three are pretty close
The Mars out for I just don't think they're going to get, I think they're going to get brutal quarterback play.
But we'll see.
That's if he can just be mediocre, they should be in the mix.
Go.
You know, I wake up in the morning.
I look in the mirror.
Before, after you put on the toupee.
Before.
And after.
And I don't like who I see.
Because I used to be a guy coach who adhered to the Bill Parcell's school of football philosophy.
you are what your record says you are.
But all last year,
we're the Patriots playing with a street to carry.
And now, hurt people, hurt people.
I've become what I most decide.
Schedule truther.
Flip the Raiders in the Patriots.
Who have the Raiders beaten?
It's a fake, it's a fake three and one.
Oh, we're three and one, you are?
Show me the teams you beat there.
Show me the three teams on this graphic.
Circle them.
You can't because one is already off.
Where's the other team you beat?
They are barely hanging on there.
We have to open it off.
They have to open it off. The Chargers.
They haven't won a game.
The other team is the Saints.
The three wins that the Raiders have are combined one in 11.
How about the Patriots losses?
We lost two.
It's not left to right.
Is this one left to right?
I thought you were doing their wins.
Our wins are fantastic.
Yeah.
We beat the mighty bills.
We beat the Steelers, but I don't care about the Steelers.
But we lost to the Seahawks there in third place.
We lost to the Jags.
We're in fourth place.
Okay, again, there's no such thing.
I'm just saying if there was.
So we're playing this weekend.
I'll be in the building with my sons trying to get a win for the whole family.
Gotta be careful about Brock Bowers.
We correctly predicted that Brock Bowers and the Raiders tight ends would have a day
against Spaggs' defense, just the Achilles heel of the defense.
How are the Patriots doing?
against tight ends.
Really good.
Turns out, Dalton Kincaid, I may have put 50 cents.
A Donald Kincaid having a few yards.
Didn't do anything.
So we're excellent against tight ends,
which I think could hopefully neutralize
both of the Raiders tight ends.
And a bit of a revenge game, a lot of revenge angles here.
Last year's home loss for Drake May and the players.
Like they came into our building and beat us
and they were terrible.
Clint Kubiak, a little Super Bowl revenge.
We couldn't beat the Seahawks, but maybe we can beat Clint Kubiak's offense for Zach Kerr, who had Kenneth Walker running all over the team.
Now, it turns out, Raiders can't run that well.
Maybe that was a Kenneth Walker specific offense that really cooked the Patriots.
If you look at how the Raiders are doing running, both top 10, lowest, there it is, 93 yards per game, both bottom 10.
He hitting like a Spider-Man web?
Yeah, I kind of spin.
I'd like the Raiders to flip with the Patriots.
Again, I don't feel good about doing this.
I wish I could say, hey, you guys are three-in-law.
But I've been hurt.
The Raiders.
You're right.
They have, they do not have a good win, but they have a phenomenal loss.
They do have a good loss.
I'm just telling you.
It's great.
You don't want to take it to-
You literally said, you were talking about the Patriots losses.
You said they lost to the number three team and the number four team.
Again, it would be-
One was by three, but the other one was by 100,
and the Raiders lost to the top team by three.
So I think, and I don't think I'm the only person that feels this way.
I believe more in the Raiders after this past week than I did going into the game.
The fact that I thought that they were hung in with the Chiefs to me was more validating,
to your point, than beating some of the worst teams in the league.
I think if the Chiefs maybe had a full roster, it could have been more.
I think the Raiders can beat the Patriots this weekend.
So I want to just give a little context of this.
So Chris Long, while he played for a bunch of teams,
it seems like the team that is nearest and nearest to his heart is the Eagles.
He did not put this clip out.
So he said it obviously, but they didn't, and he tweeted about this.
No, they didn't.
like promote it like it did and i i know chris just a little bit he is not a flame throwing hot
take guy at all i think the podcast is excellent i think he's excellent but it's if it seemed you
like that almost pained him to say i think it's because it kind of pained him to say it like he
wanted to give his honest analysis but didn't want to say what his honest analysis was which is
why this jumped out to me because he has not been someone who has been publicly very
critical of Jalen and he then was kind of echoing what in broad strokes the biggest
overarching criticism of Jalen Hertz is which is yeah is win lost record's great and yeah he won a
super bowl but look at that team around him and I and again that might be and maybe that's not
what he was saying exactly but I think that's essentially what he was saying and I do think
we can go in circles talking in the past
about how much credit does Jalen deserve for the success they have had.
That is a separate conversation than,
do we think Jalen is good enough to carry a team under these circumstances?
Because my answer to that question right now is I do not.
I think right now he is, they have a bad offensive line,
their running backs hurt, they traded away a wide receiver,
their other wide receivers hurt,
I don't think they have a great head coach.
that you need to be a truly great quarterback to just tread water in those circumstances.
And I don't think that he is, that fits his skill sets the way it might the truly greatest
quarterbacks in the league.
I think that is a fair concern.
I think it's a fair critique.
He is not, and I like Jaylon, and I think he is a very good quarterback.
But he's not the type.
His game is not, okay, you got to go.
out and throw for 320 yards every week and get us three touchdowns.
Like he's not going to do that.
And it's like I've used this count before.
If the Pacers need Tyrese Halliburton to go get 28 a night,
he's not, that's not his game.
He's still a great player.
And so I disagree with Chris in that I think Jalen has proven that he,
I always call him a winner, that he can win regardless of the players around him.
Now, everybody needs good players around.
We saw Mahomes even last year without a run game, without a great receiving court.
I mean, we could go down the line with quarterbacks that have struggled here or there
if they don't have the right pieces.
But look, remember, he was winning games before Seekwine got there.
So Sequine, I don't really want to hear about because they won four games the year
before Jalen took over as a full-time starter.
And they went nine and eight, his first season, made the play.
I think they had
it was Miles Sanders one year
with their best run. DeAndre Swift
who is a good running back but
they didn't have a it wasn't like
an all pro running back
and they did have AJ his
first year so he was with AJ
but the offensive line
when they won four games
they had Jordan Malada
they had Jason Kelsey
they had Lane Johnson
and who was the MVP of their
Super Bowl? It wasn't
Sequin or A.m.
Jay Brown or a defense.
It was
it was Jalen hurts.
And so I get it.
Like I said,
he's not going to light it up
like Joe Burrow or somebody else.
But do you think he can keep them a floor?
I think he can keep them in the playoff picture.
I don't think they're going to make the playoffs.
But I just think,
I think if they move on from Jalen,
they will regret.
They may get a good quarterback,
but he will go somewhere else,
just like he did in college.
And he will play well and maybe even be able to win big
get that. Remember, Jaylen talked about 100% alignment, zero entitlement
leading up to the season, which was a little bit of a shot at A.J. Brown,
and it's really hard to win unless you are 100% aligned, even with a ton of ability like
they had. And now there's the Jalen Hertz question, but we just heard from the head coach.
They don't have an identity. They don't, you know, they're not sure exactly where they're going.
The alignment part isn't there either. So with all these things, these injuries and different
things that he's going to have to overcome, they don't even have that part.
And so it's going to be hard to evaluate him in this context unless they get that other
part of who they are figured out to some degree.
And with what Chris was saying, I know he said he didn't flame throw him, but he did list
like six great things that he had.
No, I.
You know, great O line, two starting number one receivers, unbelievable running back.
No, I'm not saying it wasn't, it wasn't cutting.
commentary. My point is Chris is
not a guy who every
week you hear some crazy Chris long take.
He tries to be very measured.
I also feel
like this and this is maybe a good
example is how a guy can
you can be right about a guy at one time
and then wrong in the future.
Just like I felt a couple years ago
when Christian McCaffrey went out
with the double tendonitis that spread
from one leg to the next.
hey, it's important
for Brock Party, for me,
to see him produce
at a high level without him.
And he didn't.
And that, to me, validated some of my criticisms.
Now we're seeing a couple years later,
he is producing at an even higher level
with, you know, not this great talent around him.
I do think KW
that it is important for Jalen
to at the very least show
that he can stem the tide
of the Eagles season.
with all these bad things going against him
given in order for the people
who have been his biggest supporters
to feel correct.
Like does this make sense?
This is a unique opportunity
and I don't, I am,
if I were him or his biggest fans,
I would be very anxious about
how these next few weeks are going to look.
Let me ask you guys,
of the quarterbacks who've played at least,
four years, started at least four years, how many do you think have made the playoffs
every season they've been a starter?
Great question.
Full-time starter.
Like in the, I don't totally like.
Like of the starting quarterbacks in the league right now.
Right now.
That have been in the league more than four years of the start.
It's got to be just jailing.
No.
He's the only one.
Yeah.
He's that's made it every year.
He's the only one.
Yeah, because Josh didn't make it his rookie year.
Patrick didn't make it last year.
He's the only one.
Lamar.
Yeah.
And so, I'm just.
just saying like he and again
he didn't take over we can talk about
they won the Super Bowl a few years before
they won four games
but that's what I'm saying like we
we're going to go round and round on
how much credit retroactively does he
or does he not deserve because I disagree
with you that he took over a bad
situation I think it was a good situation
that I know they had a down year but we just
we're just going to disagree on that but that's
that's okay the but we can
discuss what it's going to look like moving forward
and move like if
you have, he's a $53 million a year franchise quarterback.
He's healthy.
They've got a long-tenured head coach.
They've got, they, they, none of what we're talking about right here is, you know, defensive.
Yeah, they've got a veteran defense coordinator.
He's going to handle that side of the ball.
Right.
And they've got an underachieving defense.
I mean, this year.
It has not been, I thought it could be the best defense in the league.
But it's not a bad defense.
And it hasn't been a bad defense.
If you have a solid defense.
a veteran head coach that supposedly is good,
a franchise quarterback in his prime,
you should at the very least be able to tread water.
I'm worried that Philly can't,
and I think that it will, fair or not,
that will be an indictment if they can't.
Well, they're also in a division
where two of the teams have lost their starting quarterback, right?
So that should give them a huge edge.
And then Dallas, you know, they are what they are offensively,
but they haven't fixed the problems that they have defensively.
So it's not in the hardest division in the league.
And to me, the difference with Philadelphia and a lot of other organizations is they are a great organization.
And as much as they've made the playoffs over that four years, I think some credit goes to Jalen, some credit goes the head coach.
And, you know, a significant amount of credit goes to the organizationally, them being able to see problems, address problems, and fix problems.
Just quickly for you, what is considered a win this season for Jalen Hertz?
Only one team is winning the Super Bowl.
No, no, no, no.
If they, right now, I would say, if they make the playoffs,
that is a very positive checkmark for Jalen.
I think that's...
What if they're nine and eight and miss?
I think that's...
I think that's...
It's not...
I don't think that's great.
Yeah, I don't know if ownership's looking at this division
saying they can't win the division.
I love this story.
Bill's lost their first game in a new stadium to the Patriots
while a video monitor consistently registered the noise level.
But maybe that was a bad thing, according to the bills.
Corner D. Alford said, hey, it's too loud.
Can't hear the calls, coach.
Here's what he said in his defensive coordinator's response.
Game can be loud and super loud to the point where we're not able to get the play.
That fast we needed and those guys already lined up and we're screaming to get the play.
Now we've got to hurt for wind up and sometimes we don't be able to get the play.
It's always harder to communicate at home than it is on the road.
If we complain about that, we are a bit.
We have to turn that into the biggest advantage we have, right?
As hard as it is for us, it's significantly harder for an offense, right?
So we have to find a way to make that an advantage for us.
Listen, as the resident Bill's fan on the show, I really think the good people of Western New York should listen not to the decontent.
coordinator but the defensive player and should just be quiet when the other team has the ball.
I think that if this is your opportunity and this is your moment, it's clearly
you're doing your team of disservice in that fancy news stadium, getting drunk on those
beer horns.
I don't think he's lying, though.
You can't, you don't need to.
What do you mean?
KW.
This is a fundamental, the defining feature of home field advantage is it's so, if it can get
loud enough that the offense can't communicate for the entirety of an
history, that has been an advantage for the defense, even though it hurts their ability to communicate.
So maybe he's not lying, but he is wildly mistaken that this is a bad thing.
It would be bad for the bills if the defense could easily communicate because it means the
offense can easily communicate.
If your level of accountability is that it's too loud and we can't get the calls as a defensive
player, you have some fundamental problems.
with how things are.
If you think that you're that bad in past defense
because you can't get the call because it's too loud,
you've got some real issues.
Because you literally have signal caller meetings,
you go over the signals repetitively,
you play music at practice,
you want it to be loud so that the quarterback can't hard count,
they've got to go silent count,
the offensive line can't communicate, it's harder to audible.
And if you're sitting back and saying,
you know why we're not that good,
it's because our fans are too loud when we're at home.
That is such a, that is, that is a terrible, terrible way to look at the problems you have.
And the defense coordinator is exactly right.
And that's probably about, he could even have gone through it with a stronger description of what you are if you think that's your problem.
Yeah, I mean, I can't defend D. Alfred.
And I agree.
Leonard is absolutely right.
Like, what is, I've never heard a Seahawk.
Which that stadium is notoriously loud.
I've never heard any.
I've never heard any.
I've never heard of his people.
I hear offensive players on the road.
But it's just even if he feels that way, you can't say that publicly.
You might say it to a coordinator.
Learn the signals.
Learn the signal.
Can you tell me how the signals are coming in, so it shouldn't matter how loud things are?
Well, it can come through the headset, defensive headset, but literally you have a signal that can give you
the whole defense. Put your both hands up. It's covered two. One hand up. It can be cover three.
Hit your head. It's quarters. If you have to, you know, if it's a certain blitz, you know,
you've got a signal for that and you change it each week. That's the normal operating procedure.
What if the headset goes down? You have to learn the signal. Listen, I mean, again, tell me if I'm
wrong here, but I'm fairly certain I'm not. It is very important for the offense to have quiet because
it can't just be, hey, here's our play call.
Like it is so much more complicated, everything they're doing.
It is a real orchestrated dance.
The offense has to run.
And the quarterback, in theory, needs to be able to change everything they're doing in real time.
Defense, it's like one of six to eight things with some variations attached to it,
which is why they can do it nonverbaly, which is why teams at home, when they have the ball,
the quarterback's like, be quiet, please.
If it was an advantage for the offense for it to be loud,
so the deans couldn't communicate,
then when quarterbacks were at home,
they'd be pumping the crowd.
It'd be like, get loud.
It's an outrageous thing.
Yeah, you literally see on the score where quiet play.
Quiet play's offense at work.
I mean, it's just an outrageous thing.
It's,
to cast blame on that for why you're playing poorly,
it's just, it's bad.
That's bad.
Are anyone coming around it?
Maybe the bills won't make the playoffs?
No, not won't make the playoffs,
but we do have a new addition to,
reasons it's never Josh Allen's fault and this one is fans too loud. I've seen a lot of I've seen a lot of them but this is a new one.
First overtime today special episode of cool stats these are going to be cooler than ever. It's only half hour so we're moving.
Meanwhile top 10 Tuesday on a Wednesday are the chiefs number one they're undefeated or could the Vikings knock them off?
And finally are the Dodgers closing out the series tonight. Freddie Freeman's going to hit another
home run, but I'm rooting for the braids.
Alongside Chris Bissar. I'm Kevin
Wilde, Nick Wright, and Danny Parkins,
who did not steal anyone's luggage today. It's been
one day since we had to all anyone's luggage.
It's like one of those safety signs
and a construction site. Two hours and
14 minutes door to door yesterday
from Westchester to JFK
parks the car, the Delta baggage
lot, exchange the
bags back to the car. Now, if you don't
live in Westchester, I don't think you care
about that at all.
But I do, and it's actually very impressive.
That's a very efficient trip to J&A.
Somebody in Honolulu, like, what are you talking about?
Oh, they know JFK.
They know it's relation to geographically to Westchester County.
They know it's an inconvenient place to get in and out of.
Eagles icon Lane Johnson announced his retirement.
The Eagles Parkins won 66% of their games with Lane on the field, only 37% when he wasn't on the field.
What does this move mean for Jalen Hertz?
And I know you know Cam Juergens also traded to the Ravens, so add that to the mix.
I mean, this is a life comes at you fast situation for the Eagles, right?
I mean, like, Lane Johnson, unbelievable career, two-time first team all-pro, two-time Super Bowl champion, six-time Pro Bowl, or good shot to end up in Canton one day.
So hell of a career, obviously.
But the Eagles, like going into the year, like every year for the last roughly five years, it's like, well, they have one of the five best offensive lines in football.
Right.
Like Cam Juergens is a mainst.
Landon Dickerson is elite, Milata is elite, and Lane Johnson is elite.
Like four of the five guys, they're just there, and it's a strength of the team.
And had the best offensive line coaching football on Jeff Stoutland prior to this year.
Correct.
And now it's like, okay, well.
They're missing.
Yeah.
Right.
So Stoutland's gone.
Lane Johnson's retired.
Dickerson's hurt, and Cam Jurgens is traded away.
And I will say on the Jurgens piece, now not that, you know, if you listen to the fans,
you're going to end up sitting with them.
Eagles fans have been calling for Cam Jurgens to be benched through the first four.
He had not been playing particularly.
He was playing out of position.
He'd been playing a little bit out of position.
Exactly.
Some of the tush pushes hadn't been going as well in short yardage.
Some of the plays looked bad for him.
Siriani defended him publicly, but maybe that was like a prerequisite to this trade.
Second round pick for a guy that Eagles fans were not happy with through four games.
Not terrible return.
But you simply, you can't make the argument that they're in a good spot.
Like their offense was bad.
year. It's been worse this year, and now we don't trust their offensive line, which was their biggest strength.
You picked them to miss the playoffs before all this. Correct. It's going, I think, worse than even
you anticipated, even if the record's about what you would have anticipated. How low do you
think this can, like right now, I won't hold you to it, but what's your Snap Eagle's season
ending record prediction? Seven and ten? I, they, they are going to get blown out by the Jaguars.
How are they going to score?
If Sequin is not available, we don't know exactly what's going on with Devante,
plus skill position worse and injured, offensive line, drastically different,
hurts not playing well, play caller hasn't figured it out yet.
How are they going to score against the top three defense so far this year?
I did pick them to make the playoffs as a wild card.
I don't think they'll make the playoffs now.
It's probably going to be three teams out of AFC West, which I had picked two.
I mean the NFC West.
But I do think Hertz can keep them in the hunt.
I don't think they'll fall to 7 and 10.
I haven't seen him do that.
I've seen his worst record is 9 and 8.
You know, he's made the playoffs every year,
only quarterback of the veterans to do that.
Active quarterback.
So I think he can keep them in the hunt.
I don't think the offense is good.
I think it's going to be some very ugly games.
But I think, as I've said, he's situationally excellent at times.
And I think he'll make some, like the Titans game, ugly game.
But he came through with a big play.
Yeah, but he was not situationally excellent this past year.
No, and he won't be everywhere.
He's not like going to light it up statistically, even when he's at his best.
So here's what I think is a part of the problem, or makes the problem all the more concerning for the Eagles.
Before all this stuff happened, the offense looked bad.
Before DeVante got hurt, before Sequin got hurt, before Lane Johnson missed the Rams game.
You know, the Jalen has been having, I think it's fair to say, the worst, this is the worst stretch of his career since, you know, his first year as a starter when he was kind of thrown into the fire a bit.
And so that is, even if everything, if Lane Johnson just missed last week's game and then was back, and they didn't just trade Cam Juergens and Sequin were healthy, we would still be saying for them to beat the Jaguars,
They need Jalen Hertz to play better.
Like, I mean, we were sitting there watching.
It was so unique that the Eagles were in control of that game against the Rams,
despite the fact that Jalen was having his worst game of the year.
And that Titans game that you mentioned where he was situationally great,
they went into that game daring him to throw.
And for the first 58 minutes, they were thrilled they did.
The Titans have been awful.
And they had the Eagles beat.
Now, Jalen, to his credit, drove like the field through the game winning touchdown,
But the Titans haven't had that level of success against another team's offense all year, even for just the 58 minutes.
They're my Super Bowl pick.
They, they, I would be stunned if I end up being right.
This might be worse than my Bears pick two years ago.
No.
No.
Yeah.
Don't so hard on yourself.
An early upset alert for OKW.
Maybe.
Okay.
Wow.
Situationally great.
The situation calls for greatness in London, Sunday morning.
Time now for some very cool stats as we get ready.
for week five. Briefcase has changed. A lot of luggage talk on this show. Yeah.
Only a half hour show, so we're still doing the gloves. Yeah, don't worry about it.
I can talk why I put on gloves. Tell us the second. You know what's cool? Yeah.
Thanks for asking. Acronyms. They're the cool. You haven't even pulled it out yet.
That's how cool I am. Act. Dack was right. Greatest offense there is. I mean, listen,
partly with an asterisk because Caleb is hurt.
Did you know they have the second most points in the NFL with the fewest drives?
No one has had the ball less than Dallas.
But the only team that scored more than them is the bills.
Come on, Cowboys defense.
Pick it up.
Deck and the offense is doing its part of the bargain here, Brew.
Well, look, it's only four weeks.
I would say they're arguably the best offense in the league.
I couldn't definitively call them that.
right now and I think the Caleb thing was cute,
but last time I saw him, they scored three points.
It's true.
You know about the flight.
Yeah.
But I think, you know, in four weeks,
they could end up being the number one offense in the league.
And you're right, this is just an indictment
of their defense, they can't get off the field.
If the defense stays this bad and the Cowboys
win the division, but with only 10 wins,
because the offense hums like this,
Can DAC be the league MVP for a 10-win team?
No.
Division champion.
A division champion, 10-win team.
I mean, his, now look, his numbers are not, they're good.
105 pass-a-rated, eight touchdowns, one pick.
They're pretty good.
But his numbers, I think, have to improve.
If Purdy's numbers are way better and they win.
Sure.
No, no, no.
That will depend on what the other candidates do.
Kenneth Walker has more cool stats.
Of course I've got more cool stats, because you guys know what's not cool.
Oh, not cool.
I don't want you to do not cool.
I don't ask you.
Letting down your friends.
That's true.
It's not cool.
And the Vikings' offense is letting down its defense.
Did you know?
I don't know if they're friends.
The Vikings, the passer rating of the season.
Kyler's is 72.
Carson Wentz is building this number up.
Yeah.
But it is the worst passerating for a team that has started 4 and 0 since the 2015 Broncos.
Nick, what are the 2015 Broncos end up doing?
up doing.
Hello.
15 Broncos won the Super Bowl.
Won the Super Bowl.
So that was weird.
That is cool.
Peyton was.
Peyton got benched and hurt and Brock Osweiler.
Yeah, but I mean, if the,
Kyler just gets a little bit better,
defense has been, you know,
dominant.
Coming around on the Vikings.
I mean, no, this is a weird way to get to four and O is my point.
I do not look at any team right now as being dominant,
with the exception maybe of the Niners,
but their defense is dominant and their offense is atrocious.
Yeah, I don't think this is a recipe for long-term success.
It would be a big outlier.
They won.
But they were this close, if not for a toe touch out of bounds on a 70-yard touchdown
to potentially losing to a Dolphins team that we have batted around.
Are they going to win a game all year?
It is a very, very tough way to do business of.
We're going to win a game by scoring two.
12 points.
Speaking of MVP candidates, Will Reichert.
Nobody's been more important to it.
He's scoring all their points.
Yeah, I don't think the offense is going to get a lot better.
Final cool stat.
I got one more.
You guys know what else is cool?
What?
Balance.
It's one of the coolest.
These are all the things.
We didn't have to get a Bears thing in here.
The Bears are top 10 in the league on offense,
top 10 in the league in defense.
And you're like, why are some of them white and some of them yellow?
I bet it's goal.
lettering indicates top five.
That's right.
Good eyesight by Nick.
LASIC.
It's cool.
How about that?
We could have done this as a top five
offense and defense graphic.
Can I ask you a real question,
Danny?
How are you balancing Caleb's?
This is great.
I knew this is where the train was going.
I'm so proud of you,
I'm not doing that yet.
I'm not,
not that one with not the backup
quarterbacks thing.
Just the 500 flights game.
Oh.
How are you?
We should,
because that's a whole show.
How are you balancing?
I'm not even afraid of that hypothetical.
I'm not even talking about it.
I'm talking about the 500 flights game as obviously boosting up the defense because
flights are canceled.
But the defense the last two weeks has been elite.
And also the Jets and also the Eagles.
I don't think.
Well, that's what it is.
It's a small sample size.
One was 500 flights.
One was the woeful Eagles and Dylan Hertz is no good anymore.
And one was the Jets.
You don't believe that.
Never mind.
But I'm saying that's, their offense is bad.
I do not think that at the end of the year.
the Bears are going to be a top eight, maybe top 10 defense.
I do not believe that.
But I do think that the formula that they just showed against the Jets,
I mean, they played 32 plays.
Yeah, that works.
Like, if your defense stays on the field, you're going to be, you're going to be okay.
Can I just give you a sneak preview, though, of the conversation that Wilds really wants to have?
No, I'm not.
I just, I would like to say something.
We have 30 seconds left.
I know you want the Bears to win this week.
Yeah.
You really want the Bears to win an ugly 13.
No, you are wrong.
You don't.
You are wrong.
You want Bayesian to light it up?
Blow them out.
The better.
Run it up, Herman, leave no doubt.
Look, the less impressive it is for your guy.
Until Caleb comes back and they put up 59 points again.
Caleb's played in one game this year with good weather.
They scored 59.
It's Chicago.
You got a bad weather.
I love it.
I mean, that 500 flights bad.
That was bad.
A bit more time with Coach Manjini and myself here on the OT.
What's better?
than top 10 Tuesday on a Wednesday.
You ready for a perfect list, Coach?
I am ready for a perfect list for once.
Okay.
I'm going to live up to their standards here.
I don't think so, but we'll see.
Coming to number 10, I saw him in person, and I got it with me, I was impressed.
Welcome to the top 10 to the Vegas Raiders.
You look around and you're like, hey, there's Tyler Linderbaum, and there's Ashton Genty,
and there's Mayor, and there's Bowers, and there's Crosby where we can happen.
They got some nice players at premium positions.
Would like Clint Kubiak to be as aggressive with his play calling as he was
with his halftime rhetoric.
But, hey, the offense is working.
If we throw up the company that they're keeping,
we know the Lions offense is great.
Raiders and the Lions, only teams in the league,
four for four, scoring 26 or more points.
I was impressed, and we'll get to see it.
Coming up, Pat's, Bills, and Rams, the next three.
I bet you would love Kubiaks, the halftime.
I love what he said, but then he's, you know,
kicking field goals on fourth and inches.
Go for it.
You should be used to that.
I don't like it.
Coming to number nine, the Rams.
Your offense looks great in the fourth quarter against Philly.
It's been a weird season with your injuries in the Australia trip.
I would have bet a lot of money before the year that you would never be as low as number nine.
You would have been out of the top ten entirely if you didn't come back against the Eagles.
Coming in at number eight, the Baltimore Ravens.
I struggled with this one.
There's no Lamar, but when they have had Lamar, it's really impressive.
How long Lamar is going to be out?
It's a mid-ankel sprain.
But the games that you have coming up, starting with Atlanta and then the Browns
and the Bengals should be winnable,
given how impressive you've looked at times
on both sides of the ball.
I struggled with whether or not to keep them
in the top 10.
For now, Ravenstay,
at number 8.
The Minnesota Vikings come in at number 7.
The defense has been spectacular.
The offense has been terrible.
Let's put it into perspective here.
Best opponents points per game
for a team with a 4-0 start since 2019.
They're holding teams to 13 points per game.
But their 21 points scored per game,
the worst by a team with a 4-0 start,
since 2009.
Defense probably going to get a little worse.
Can the offense get a little bit better?
It's a very weird four and no team.
I don't look at them as dominant quite yet.
Number six, the Bears.
Three quarterbacks for three wins.
They've played four games.
They have had the ball for more than 53 minutes, almost 53 minutes,
52 minutes and 44 seconds, more than their opponents through four games.
That time of possession differential through four games is astonishing.
It has been a dominant offensive performance.
Defense not on the field that much.
They're overachieving.
Coming to number five, the Jacksonville Jaguars.
I got to be honest, I didn't have this one, coach.
They're top two in points per game, rushing yards per game, and takeaways for their defense.
Like a top two defense for Jacksonville with how Trevor Lawrence has been cooking.
And Liam Cohn, very impressive for Jacksonville.
At number four, the Buffalo Bills.
Weird Josh Allen stretch here.
Unbelievable, the first two games, four touchdowns, four turnovers.
The last, I'm not going to kill you for losing a three.
point game to a division rival who was desperate, but obviously Josh Allen needs to be a lot better.
Coming in at number three, the Kansas City Chiefs.
They're undefeated.
Mahomes looks really good.
Kenneth Walker has been spectacular.
Offensive line has been better than I thought it was going to be.
Pass rush was amazing in week one against Denver.
No sacks in the last three weeks.
Now they have wide receiver problems.
Again, very good team.
I'm not sure that they are a dominant team, if any team is dominant quite yet.
The Seahawks coming at number two.
That was a really weird outlier game two weeks ago against Washington where they allowed 33 points.
They've allowed 40 points in total in their other three games.
I still think Seattle is fantastic.
And that brings me to number one, which is the San Francisco 49ers.
They have been the most dominant team in the NFL.
San Francisco, the only team to beat Seattle, one of two teams to beat Seattle in Seattle last year.
We get to see that rematch this upcoming week.
Seattle keeps some pretty impressive company.
They do not have negative plays.
They have not allowed a sack in the first four weeks.
The company that they keep, Peyton Manning and the 2005 Colts.
The last two times a team has not allowed a sack through four games.
So if your offense never goes backwards and you keep winning these games with a bunch of blowouts attached to it,
the Niners deserve the top spot.
And I can preview for next Tuesday.
The winner of Niners Seahawks will have the top spot on Top 10 Tuesday.
Coach, as always, perfect list?
No.
Okay.
Far from perfectly.
So last week you had the Broncos in the top 10, right?
So they lose to who?
They lost to the Niners.
Yeah, yeah, 2414.
Which is what on your list?
Number one.
Number one.
So they drop off.
They dropped out.
And then the Raiders who weren't on your list, they lose to the number three team, but they bump up.
Yeah, it's the chief's bump.
Competitive loss with a covered spread.
So you lose against a three team and you bump up.
Yeah.
And you lose versus the one team and you're off the list.
So I mean, can the Broncos score?
And, okay, well, let's just keep going.
We got the Bears, right?
Who did they beat?
The Bears beat the Jets.
Okay, and they bumped up a few spots, too.
So that was a gigantic win?
I mean, it's the third quarterback they've played this year, and they were dominant.
Yeah, it's impressive win.
Oh, okay.
You are very, the jumps up and down and by who they're winning against and who they're losing against.
Who look, who do you, listen, Bears fans not very happy with you for your,
your analysis about Tyson Bayesian's one interception against the Jets.
Or are you not impressed with 34 first downs against 32 play?
The Bears, 34 first downs, the Jets, 32 plays run.
Is that not at all impressive the level of consistent dominance that they've had with three
different quarterbacks?
Not to mention what they're doing on the defensive side of the ball.
I would say that you're playing a team that hasn't gotten an interception in a historical run of
of not getting an intercept and you give up one.
Okay.
And your backup quarterback through an interception.
Yeah, but it's been how, what, 2018, 28, whatever, whatever,
almost a season and a half.
Yeah, whatever mind blowing.
So, but, and, and that allows them to bump up because of, of their win there.
I just think the, look, there's no, I did, I had it in, uh, I had it in cool stats.
Oh, there, there could, listen, everyone has a bias.
The people that you can trust are the ones who admit their biases to you.
Bears are top 10 points, yards, rushing yards, third downs, touchdowns, yards, yards,
first down and time of possession on offense.
They're top 10 on defense in points, yards, passing yards, third down, red zones,
sacks, rushing touchdowns, passing touchdowns, in pass a rating.
They're a top 10 team.
They've just been a top 10 offense and a top 10 defense and they're three in one with three
different quarterbacks.
I'm just going by the list you had last week, the win they had this week, assuming that
win somehow change your mind in terms of how good they are. So obviously you're, you're assigning
the Jets of very high value in terms of quality of opponent. Now what about the Browns? They didn't
get any consideration. They've won three games in a row. Browns got very little consideration.
And what's the thought process there? Now they win three games in a row. Those quality of wins are no
good or do it again. Okay. Do it again. Do it again. Do it again, coach. Or just lose against
a relatively good opponent and then you can get on the list. Is that that's the deal? I will admit
The Chief's got a nice bump for the Raiders there. No question about it.
