Hey, here we are at Getting Naked, the podcast. Welcome.
Today is a special episode.
We're doing the number two episode of Asked, Asked, and Answered, which for me is special
because I get a lot of email and comments from all of you, and you have a lot of questions,
and I like to be able to answer them.
So that's what we're going to do today.
I'm so glad that you're enjoying Valerie's place.

It's really fun to get your feedback.
So this is going to be hopefully a fun episode for you as much as it is for me.
So let's get going.
I have a really fun recipe for you today.
You saw how easy that was.
Look at all that flavor we packed into chicken breasts.
I love the flavor of maple syrup, especially for these kind of muffins.
I see all of your comments.
I swear I do.
You are wondering, where's my show?
This is so dang delicious.
Smells divine.
That's a jalapeno popper.
Oh my god.
It's so good!
Yes, I'm back and I am cooking for all of you.
All right, Sophie, what are we reheating today?
Welcome to Nal Vow's cooking.
Guess what we're gonna make right now.

Okay.
So I guess maybe we'll start a little bit with.
what I've been doing, how it's been going since I last did the first Ask and Answered.
I had Love Again.
The movie came out.
I had my book tour, and I met, I got to meet a lot of you, which was really fun for me.
Right now, I'm getting ready.
Okay, so I have been pretty much nonstop since the end of February.
We launched Valerie's Place at the end of February.
my book came out at the beginning of March.
The movie came out came out at the beginning of May.
So it's just been go, go, go, go, go.
I have spent a lot of time on an airplane and airports,
which part of me absolutely loves because I get to see new cities.
But where I really want to see new cities is where my son is.
And so I am planning a trip along with my daughter-in-law and her dad
and my sister-in-law and who else is going to be there.
well, obviously, Wolfie and my brother, but we're all going to be in Europe.
So I'm really, really, really excited about doing that.
And I had enough miles to spend my miles on my airplane ticket.
So we love that.
We love a good trade.
So I'm really looking forward to doing that.
That's going to be my rest and relaxation.
I have a reading goal for my summer.
Right now, I am reading.
Let me show you.
Right now I'm reading this because I want to see the movie.
This is Project Hail Mary.
And it is amazing.
Like it grips you immediately.
Immediately.
Like I'm, all I want to do is read this book, which is why I brought it to work today because I want to read it when we have downtime.
And I'm not going to, what I love about reading, and my, like I said, my goal is, is I want to read a minimum of two books a month, which that was my goal last year.
I did not get it.
I think I read 10 books last year.
So I want to do way better than that because what I love about it is it keeps me off my god dang phone.
And I don't, I want to see those hours, those weekly hours decrease immensely.
I want to read again.
I love I love getting into these new different worlds.
And each book holds like the book I read before, I started Project Helms.
Mary was Theo of Golden. So Theo of Golden was wonderful. I loved it. Okay, anyway, let's get into the
first voicemail. The question that I have or read it that a mother is only as happy is her most
unhappy child. And I wanted to know if you had any advice when adult children are struggling,
how to have joy in your life and when your kids are struggling.
So that's my question.
And thank you and I love you.
And I wanted you to know that my daughter's name is Valerie Rose.
Oh.
Thank you so much.
And I hope to hear an answer to this question sometime.
Thanks, Valerie.
Bye-bye.
Oh, what a beautiful.
Oh, that's so sweet.
Okay.
Sandy, I can hear it in your voice that you're really struggling with this.
And it's so, so hard for you to see your adult child suffer.
I get it.
I get it.
I think the only advice that I can give you is to be there and unconditionally love them through it all.
Be there.
Don't force yourself on them.
Open your ears.
Say, you know, please let me in.
I'm here for you. Our family is very tight. We are also very tight-lipped. We don't talk a lot.
We don't share our feelings a lot. And we're all trying to get better at it. We're all trying to
change. And Wolfie's actually helping us because he's very closed and very personal as well.
Like he keeps things close to the best. And as is his wife. Like we're all very private people.
I can't really say I'm private. I got him verbal vomit all my stuff to everybody.
but there's a lot of stuff that I don't tell you, believe it or not.
But yeah, we're getting a lot better at telling each other how grateful we are for each other.
And Pat and I are always sending DMing memes to each other on Instagram.
It's kind of funny.
And it's always me sending funny little brother quotes and memes and also telling him, you know,
through these memes how much I adore him.
And he's going, yeah, I love you too, you know, on every eighth day of the week between 3.30 and 2.15.
You know, so it's like he, he's funny.
I love him.
And I'm, I couldn't be more grateful.
Plus, you know, Wolfie has an amazing team around him.
I love all the people that he works with.
His manager is fabulous, good, kind, smart man.
also a musician, so he gets that road life.
He understands it deeply and intimately.
And I've spent time with Tim, and I just adore him and his family.
I'm grateful.
I mean, is there anything better in the world than knowing that your child is well taken care of?
And I say child because he will always be my child, even though he's a 34-year-old man.
But I like knowing that my 34-year-old man is.
in good hands. And plus, he's in good hands because he's a really smart, emotionally intelligent
human being as well. So I'm super proud of him.
I have a really fun recipe for you today. You saw how easy that was. Look at all that flavor
we packed into chicken breasts. I love the flavor of maple syrup, especially for these kind of muffins.

We're alive.
Hi, everybody.
How are you?
You have to go to Valerie's Place.
That's where you can see our book group, this podcast.
That's where you can go for all the cooking that you want to see.
Oh, yes.

Question about one day to time.
Okay.
I think I can do that.
I can answer that.
Marcy, currently living in Jacksonville, Florida.
And I've been a fan of yours since Monday at a time debuted.
I'm three years younger than you, so I really love to.
You had to bring that up, didn't you?
I really liked the show because it was set in Indianapolis,
and I grew up in a small town in Indiana, and I'm not too far from Indy.
And so my question is, did you?
Did you ever do any filming in Indianapolis or did you ever spend it to be in Indianapolis,
even maybe if you were touring with Eddie or get to see anything in the city?
Thanks for taking my question.
Take care.
Bye-bye.
Thank you.
And you know what's weird?
After all these years, I don't think, and I've been almost everywhere in the United States at least.
But I don't think I've been to Indianapolis.
I don't think I have.
At least I can't remember.
And I think I would remember.
Wait, I might have been.
All I remember about that trip was, yes, I, oh, I, no.
Where was I?
But I remember showing up at the airport, and Taylor Swift was doing a concert that night.
And you could see the stadium from my hotel.
And I was like, I really want to go to that show.
But I have a flight out of here and I want to get home as well.
So I'm not going to go to the show.
I'm not going to try and get tickets.
How do you get tickets, right?
I did see the show the August before that.
I saw it in Los Angeles with my daughter-in-law, and it was spectacular.
But I wanted to see the show with the poets added in it.
So I didn't.
But I kept thinking, do I go?
No, no, I got to get home.
I got to get home.
So I go to the airport, 10 o'clock in the morning, right?
The flight gets delayed.
The flight gets delayed.
I'm like, okay, so I bring out my book and I start reading, and it gets delayed again.
Like every, they only delay it one hour at a time, right?
Ten hours later, they finally bored us.
I could have gone to the show.
I could have tried to get tickets, but I was stuck at the airport instead.
Anyway, I think that's the only time I was ever in Indianapolis.
Yeah, love the city, and we never filmed there.
The very beginning of the credits for the very first year where you see me bouncing the basketball on top of the station wagon, that was done in West Hollywood on a side street.
So that was that.
Okay, I am going to pause for a second and thank everybody for listening to getting naked the podcast.
