God, Christmas Eve. Christmas Eve. That means, if you don't know, Christmas is tomorrow. That's nuts. How did we get here? This year, this whole year, it's gone so quick for me it's literally fine I was thinking at the beginning of the year I can't remember but yesterday I was like I can't believe the submersible happened this year and then I googled it I was

like no it didn't the submersible remember that the hell is submersible that's submersible that imploded I don't know why like I still think about that. Oh yeah. But that was in 2023 that wasn't this year. Okay yeah. But I know that I've googled that twice which isn't a lot but it's weird that I've googled it twice. Just to check. Just to check. I mean you do kind of just need to check sometimes. Just checking up how long ago was it this year. Hell of a lot of bad shit happened this year. So many things, so many curses were seen. So many curses. God. We saw the end of quite a lot of influential people. People, industries. Yeah. God. Here we are

on the 24th. We all got through. We're here. Yeah, thank god for that. Do you find Christmas Boxing Day, no what is it, christmas eve quite overwhelming because i do. yeah i do actually. just prep. yeah prep and like oh god i just i do i just i have all these rules for myself i need to get over it i think. go on what are the rules? just rules of like, not even rules, i have expectations for myself throughout the year. Yeah. Too much. And then on, yeah, for example, Christmas Eve, I suffer the same fate. I'm like, oh, I want to have everything done. I want to do this, this and this. I want to be able to blah, blah, blah. And it's like, okay, but maybe I'm not going to be able to do all

of that. Yeah. Do you know what I mean? I'm not very good at letting go. And also maybe it will make no difference whether you do that stuff or not. yeah maybe. like it kind of doesn't. yeah. like christmas also, i love christmas. or like i love the feeling when you feel the christmas feeling. me too. but often christmas is overwhelming and shit. or at least underwhelming. yeah yeah. and a bit nothingy. like that is actually, like throughout my entire life I've been sitting there at 3pm on Christmas being like I can't believe today is Christmas day. I don't feel anything. Like this is Christmas fucking day. Like there's no magic in the air. Like there's no twinkle in my eye. Like what is this? I think basically as a kid somebody is making the magic for you Yeah, and you can just go along with you've got a pile of like magic. Yeah, like play dough and shit

Yeah, that is so fun. So fun. I got maracas one year. I remember that being that's fun I've I got maracas. I think you still like it Given the same grace with the noise I was making Well, I kind of think you'd still be into that. I don't think I'd be given the same grace with the noise I was making. That is crazy. Definitely something that wasn't going to be in the house that day. Yeah, that's what I was going to say. That can't be a parent doing that. No, absolutely crazy. So what are your hopes and wishes for this Christmas? Oh I've so been quite stressful so far. I also have just been seeing a lot of I've been like seeing all my home friends recently that has been really nice catching up with all of them but I really just want some time with my family yeah that. That's like nice quality time.

Yeah. Like we all stress each other out a lot and all of that stuff, but I would like to just have like an evening, watching something, doing the presents, doing a walk. We haven't done like a big family, well, not all the family come, but like me, my mum, actually I won't go through the members.

Some, I would like to do a family walk. Yeah. Like that would be quite nice. That's something I would really like to do I would like everyone to just feel chilled and like no expectations on anybody and yes nice And I think I would like yeah in like whatever way that looks like for us Yeah, but I haven't really we haven't really had any like quality time yet together We've all just been sort of like seeing all the people that we all individually know. Need to get back to, yeah. Yeah and I haven't really been and then the time we

have had together has been like our tree is not decorated yet. Oh that's nice that you can do that. Yeah I might do that like today actually. Yeah that's really nice. But I do feel like it's really that house where like if you want something done you have to do it like it's not like the tree will get decorated by you know it's not a house where like the Christmas cheer is cheering just naturally you have to kind of I feel like that's most people's point you have to make that cheer happen like the tree is a priority I think I need to get that done yeah that's really nice a very nice activity it's one of my favorite things is like Christmas music yeah and decorating the tree so fun really nice yeah but it also can be very

like a lot overly stimulating for people yes so like it's sensory activity overload it's an overload. So like I don't think we could have music on at the same time as doing that. Like it needs to be calm. The cheer has always turned down a bit. Yeah, no, I think that's fair. Because it just needs to be like sensory low. Yeah. Low stuff. But like, yes, Christmas music I listened to when I was driving home the other day from my friend's house and I was like god this is the first time I've done that so nice what are you looking forward to?

I love meat and two veg I love no no it's not meat and two veg though. I don't care about the veg. No you do! Potatoes, are they veg? Potatoes, that kind of... it's a root veg, it kind of counts. Yeah, yeah. I want them crispy, fluffy, like thick. Yeah. Whoa. Yum. Ew, this doesn't sound good to me. Oh, but I know I'm weird so I won't make that fit. Yorkshire puddings. Whoa. Whoa. Engravy. Whoa. Wowee. That I'm excited for.

Obviously with my Baileys which, by the way, did you see all the people being like, I love Baileys? There were so many people being like, Baileys, Baileys, Baileys and I was like, yeah so true, Baileys, Baileys, Baileys. It made me feel really redeemed. People have been cracking... I've seen a lot of people drinking Baileys. yeah it's tis a season. yeah people started early actually in december. like my housemates were drinking passing the baileys around. yeah it's delicious though. maybe i'll get some vegan baileys. yeah you should. i know i won't like it. no you won't like it. what's the flavor? coffee? uh vanilla. it's hard to explain i guess. i don't know. sort of butterscotch. So you can't really- no no no it's not like- I don't know what it is.

So you can't picture a Baileys taste. I can picture the look. But not the taste. No I don't think I've ever had it. Wow. I probably have. I probably have. I had a vegan Baileys one year when I was vegan and it was quite good. I think it was from M&S maybe.

God. Yeah quite nice. Okay so I need to try it. You don't have to but you just live your life. I want to. But I have to say everyone else is really we're all just enjoying the party. Everyone loves it. Yeah I know. And I agree with you I would really like a chilled time. I feel like Christmas is a crazy time and I feel like it evokes a lot of memories. Some good, some bad. And I do feel like, so Christmas Day I spend at home, at ours with my boyfriend and our dog. That's like how it's been for this year, last year, and that's it I think. And I do really like

being at home with like my favourite people and being safe and being like just so happy and like safe. It makes me like really proud of like how actively I have fought to create a nice life for myself. And yeah, then on Boxing Day chaos ensues, we see everybody and that I think is like, I agree with you, like having the fun and the chaos of like being around everyone. I'm excited to like play a game, like I'm looking forward to Scrabble or something. That was one of the goals for the year. This Christmas of like, I wonder if we're at that point where a board game could come out. Which I really hope it is. Me and my sister last year in the evening, it'd been a bit of a shit show and then in the evening we were like,

let's do, let's reclaim, let's have an hour now in the evening and yeah it was so nice it was actually probably like the nicest one of the nicest bits actually we just had Monopoly but this year I love this game called Settlers of Catan I know people know it. I don't know it. It's an amazing game it's just like a board game and maybe I'll get it. It's honestly so good, I highly recommend it. You'd love it. What is it? What's the vibe?

So, god I probably haven't played it in like two years but I love this game. It's like you are like creating your... so you need resources. Okay I like this. There'll be like sort of grass, like sheep, wood, stone, clay. You've told me about this before I think and you are like trying to build your Settlements essentially. Yeah, you want one that like maybe is near a port and over your near clay So you have like loads of clay that you can trade with other people and you're basically just trying to build up your Settlement into like a really successful thriving thing and like build long roads big big houses. yeah i like this. it's just really cool. i like this. kind of sim city. it's a hundred percent sim city vibe. more

vintage. but like it's kind of competitive. like people are trying to sabotage you and they can like steal your world from your thing. oh wow. it's really good. that's what i'm looking forward to. i really want to play that but you need like quite a few players. yeah that's when it's when it gets tough is you need specific conditions. exactly. so that was a no-go last year but like I would love to play Settlers of Catan. I hope you get to play Settlers of Catan. Me too. Never said those words before. That was my first time saying it. It's really good. And we have the expansion pack and everything. Whoa okay shit. But like then you really need a lot of players. I really like Cluedo. I don't think I've got a... You haven't played that in years a lot of place. I really like Cluedo

I don't think I've got yeah, I don't think that new I've got Cluedo here, but I like that vibe Mmm, I've like oh god who did it? I remember once one year at my dad's we all played like a Version of Cluedo where it was like it was definitely like a DVD and it was like an interactive thing it was like half and half oh that's quite cool so you would like watch something you'd like watch you'd go into the hallway or something and see something happen or whatever hmm which is quite fun oh i love that yeah there we got my sister my little sister Mia um the traitors board game oh my god i saw that is it good i don't know she just loved the traitors who doesn't Oh my god, I saw that, is it good? I don't know, she just loved the Traitors. Who doesn't love the Traitors? Me, I've never seen it, but I considered game.

Do you know what will happen? You'll watch it in a year's time and be like, I love the Traitors, you'll watch like season one. I know. Late. I know. It's great. But I was gonna get the board game.

Well maybe watch the show. It's really good. But I thought it'd it's pretty good. i thought it'd probably be quite good. i think it'll be like a, cause it's kind of a basic game. and what is the game? maybe you could explain to me. the traitors, the show and i assume the game as well

And then suddenly when it gets to this thing, the round table, where they start accusing each other of stuff, it just really horrible it's quite a toxic show but like also very beautiful in BBC and they cut off in a way but like and Claudia Winkleman's there oh yeah okay love her utterly divine yeah best style on TV hands down it's your style no it's not my style it's not my style. no no it's not your style. although i did follow her stylist the other day for tips. tips and tricks. she has got the best fucking style on tv hands down. she's iconic. she looks so good. especially on traitors because like kilts and like she's just oh my god she looks so good. okay so maybe we'll go on traitors together next year. but yeah we should go on. alright. it looks really harrowing though in the round table because it's like friends turning on friends. like that looks so fun. you've got more of a chance of getting on it now. we could go on it together. yeah we could. it would be very stressful. yeah and i don't think we'd have the same kind of instincts. go on. okay so go on. whilst being hunted. so the premise of the show is you basically have to hide from people. from the hunters. from the hunter people. you're basically, it's like channel 4 shitty. like this is not as nice as um the traitors as like beautifully made. because i i've seen hunted but i've not seen traitors. hunted is like budget i would say. okay. but like so fun. and like trashier looking. just stylistically odd to me. yeah fair enough. but the premise is you get dropped somewhere and the hunters are like on you from the beginning. they've got like a helicopter above london they're like looking at you and you have to like escape them so people use like decoys and shit people go like they have like people waiting for them in a car you basically have to get somewhere and the hunters are like phoning your friends and family like you have to just basically be smart. That's the bit that I don't like is like I don't give consent for you to like but you can't call my mum. You can't call my estranged family member.

All my birthday parties. All this shit. So special. Up to the age of like 23 or something. So Merry Christmas. So yeah, something will be watched on Christmas Day, something will be watched on Boxing Day, probably everyone like sat around drinking, having a merry old time. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, but that sounds delightful. Yeah, I just feel emotional about Christmas.

I couldn't honestly agree more. It's a big thing and it's difficult and it is so emotive. Intense. It's so intense. It's overwhelming. Also everyone's looks so different. I think that's kind of the thing. And I will say my Christmas gets to be, well I'm touching wood for a really nice Christmas

and I'm hoping it will be a nice Christmas this year but like for example going off my Christmas last year was perfect. It was lovely. It was amazing. It was amazing everything I could have wanted my Christmases did not always look like that. I had to like Really make an effort for myself It took a lot of time of like being on my own on Christmas crying on Christmas Being abused on Christmas having horrible times at Christmas like

Terrible terrible Christmases have paved the way for me to have lovely Christmases as an adult and so if you're having a terrible time at Christmas doesn't mean all your Christmases are doomed it's not your fault it's not your destiny like you do not deserve difficult times and I think I felt like when I would have shit times and shit christmases specifically i would be like oh it's because i'm not lovable it's because there's something wrong with me and that's not necessarily true um no it's not true at all and i have good hopes for everyone for the new year and good christmases to come and just and if you're just nice to yourself yeah for sure like i am fully with you if you're having a chaotic christ Christmas this year that's just like difficult family, big

stuff, I'm completely with you. And I think that will be my Christmases forever because I can't picture choosing another way, but that is what it is, you know? Like that is, Christmas is stressful and all of these things, I think for me potentially forever which I am happy with in a way. I am completely with you if you're having a stressful time, same, but also like... That's a part of it, there's a beauty in that. That's what Christmas is, that's your family. That's my family.
