It doesn't look any different than last year, and that's what the killer is.
I booked you last minute the other day.
I did not plan it.
I did not.
This is a setup.
That's smart.
If you're going to spit on somebody's chest, you do it.
The TV timeout before the game starts.
Yes, because that's what the Ravens are.
They're so good.
They're so good.
And, like, yes, if you told me, like, they win the Super Bowl this year, but like, yeah, that makes sense.
They're one of the best four teams in the NFL.
They can't win those big games.
I hate to say it, but I was so impressed by J.J. McCarthy.
We got Josh. You also have Jimmy Lee Curtis.
Jimmy Lee Curtis and Sidney.
People were mad. I didn't have Nancy Pelosi in there.
I probably should have. She does have cannons.
Look it up.
Welcome to the Green Light Podcast.
Thank you for tuning in today. We've got Big Cat.
Chris and Big Cat ripped through the NFL.
They talk Big Cat's Tears, the Bill's Ravens game.
Oh!
and maybe that Monday night football game that Big Cat was very invested in.
The Bears and the Vikings, you'll hear his full thoughts on Greenlight right now.
Enjoy it and come back Friday for NFL Week 2 previews, our gambling picks and a whole lot more fun.
Welcome to the podcast.
I am your host, Chris Long, and today I am all by my lonesome.
I am bringing guests on the show.
You know him well.
It's Big Cat from Part of My Take Fame.
and a longtime buddy of mine,
couldn't think of a better guess for week one,
especially when I scheduled him the day after the Bears came.
I didn't mean to do that, I swear.
So enjoy Big Cat.
We will be back Friday with our gambling locks,
Stanford Steve and Fax and Macon in studio going through the entire Sunday slate.
Please like, subscribe, and tell a friend that,
that there's a pretty good moderately successful football podcast
that's back in full swing over here at Greenlight.
Thank you very much.
Enjoy Big Cat.
Dan.
Christopher.
It's so good to see you.
It's so good to see you.
I appreciate you taking time.
When I booked you last minute the other day, I did not plan it.
I did not.
This is a setup.
It's not.
It was like, it was, I looked at, so the Bears lost on Monday football.
and then I looked at my schedule and I was like, oh shit, I got to talk about the Bears losing on Monday football like six times today.
And this is the last one.
Okay.
So you get all my, you get actually the best one because I've like refined all my thoughts in a way that maybe makes sense.
And I'm hoping you can you can maybe talk me off the ledge a little.
But yeah, this was a setup.
I love coming on with you.
I love you as a person and a friend.
But yeah, this was a setup.
I love you too.
It wasn't a setup.
You were like, we were going to pull out the big guns.
at some point and get you on.
But to be,
to be honest,
who were we trying to book week one?
Was it,
um,
golly,
I can't even remember.
But it,
you weren't,
you know,
I'm only saying this to prove that it was set up.
You weren't my first choice.
Which hurts my feelings,
but yes,
yes.
So that was a nice,
yeah,
backhand compliment.
Yeah.
Okay.
So,
so Dan,
um,
take me through what it was like.
I think y'all were doing a live watch in Chicago.
Yeah.
Throw in a Lucy.
What's your intake by the,
way at this point in the season with the pouches.
So many. So many. All right. So let's take you through it. I cannot believe that Josh
Allen had that comeback. That was insane. We should talk about that forever. That's all we should
talk about. What an insane comeback. Josh Allen, can I ask you a question? I'm going to try
to filibuster as long as they can. Can you tell when you're watching as a player? Can you tell when a
quarterback is on easy mode and we'll segue this into the bears but can you tell one of guys on easy
mode because that's what it looks like to me is that Josh Allen is playing on easy mode and by that I mean
he feels like he's seeing everything so clearly and every throw is on time and every throw is
where it needs to be and it's just like there's certain guys that like I think Stafford kind of hits
that sometimes where it's like yeah holy shit they're just on easy mode right now well I think
what helps um you know with Josh is like he's at one
of the best offensive lines in football too.
And that's the thing people don't give them enough credit for.
I thought personally that the Ravens would get more pressure in that game, you know,
and they might have to manufacture more pressure if they can't get it with four in that
matchup.
But I think Josh is just in a good spot.
Like he didn't even need Joshua Palmer and him weren't even on the same page until like
the third and fourth quarter.
Yeah.
Like there were moments where I was like, okay, they're not there yet.
I think one of the best things was like seeing Keon Coleman.
I think he made a jump from year one to year two.
Obviously, great run game.
Everything runs through the back.
So they got a complete offense.
Do you remember last year before we started the season?
Everybody was like, oh, they got nobody outside.
Yeah.
And it really doesn't matter.
That's what an MVP does.
He elevates everybody.
And the offensive line's a really good point because it is the, remember the meme that was going around?
The Jamar Chase Pena Sewell draft.
But it was just like, you know, get Pena Sewell.
You can throw to literally anyone get to Jamar Chase and you don't have an offensive line
and you just never get it to him.
Like that is, it does.
it does feel like if you have the quarterback and you build the offensive line,
not to say that those guys aren't good on the outside for the bills,
but you don't need Justin Jefferson.
Obviously, it would be great if you had them,
but you don't need Jamar Chase.
You need guys who can run routes and be on the same page as Josh,
knowing that he's seeing the field the way he's seeing it.
And also, to extend the filibuster,
I want to talk about how all the guys outside are unselfish
because not that Diggs was selfish,
but like when you have well you know like a healthy i'm a number one wide receiver in the nfl like
you know i'm inherently i want the fucking ball and i don't blame you bro but like if it's keon
colman and shakir and and you know it's joshua palmer they're all happy to be there man you know
like so you don't have that element of i got to force feed this guy which is also really nice for
josh and he's happily married as chris collinsworth pointed out during the broadcast sunday night
A couple times.
A couple times.
All right, let's talk about the bear.
So, yes, I was live watching.
Good news is I actually did see this loss coming from a mile away.
And I know that people can say that.
But I have gone into this season being like, I am going to have patience.
I am going to not get over excited.
I am going to watch what I watch and try to trust my eyes.
And it actually helped me in this game because that first drive was fun.
but that first drive wasn't
I think you can admit like that first drive
was fun but it wasn't
like it was oh my
God the shots they're taking he's hitting these
seam routes he's doing all it was a lot of
scrambles it was a lot of guys in the
flat so it was like okay
good drive like opening
touchdown of the season get a touchdown
can't ask for more
from that point on the offense was not good
and it looked not good
so when the bears got to pick six
and it was 16 to 7.
I said in the, or 17 to 6,
I said into the cave to all my friends and coworkers,
I was like, guys, this game is a lot closer than we think,
because if they can score, if the Vikings score one touchdown,
I don't think our offense has it in it
to get to manufacture more than three to seven more points in this game,
and I was exactly right.
So I wasn't surprised.
I was very disappointed because Caleb just doesn't look any better.
And that's really what,
Like that's the bottom line is like there's a lot of new parts Ben Johnson new system you got to have patience on that
But in terms of seeing the field throwing with anticipation
Uh throwing quickly it doesn't look any different than last year and that's what the killer is
Dude I had to I was trying to put myself in your shoes and other people's shoes in Chicago during that first drive like of course the ben johnson script was going to be fucking fire and it didn't help that the throw he made to a
Dunesay in the Red Zone is like why we're we're in still on this guy. Right. Right. Like he the sideline
throw. Yeah. Yes. He has some things in his body that you're just like, hey, if he can figure it out,
whatever it is for him, he can be one of those dudes. I mean, like there's nothing physically
keeping him from being one of those dudes. I guess the thing for me was as the game went on,
some of the same themes from last year showed up. And one of them that I think, you know, I was really
surprised by year one, although you know this, we went back and forth in our circle group text,
myself, you and Rosillo, and I was kind of throwing a little cold water on the early returns
on Caleb Williams, because the hype was too much. It was. Okay. But the deep ball was something that I
thought he'd be a little bit better at year one in the pros and missing a lot of those down the field
shots, just really missing them is something that I thought he'd be better at week one a year into
football the other thing was the pre-snap stuff yeah and I think that's the especially troubling
part although it will get better because it's year one in the system but like I don't know where you
are on the on the Tyler Dunn article okay yeah yeah so by the way I'm still stuck behind the paywall
by the way I read I read everything before the paywall and I was like fuck this is bad yeah
we're like hey if you'd like sign up for my patreon I was like fuck that I just keep your word for it
it wasn't good so all right so one
one thing I should say because I have to be transparent here when you say the hype was
too big for Caleb it's I'm the Tim Robinson meme with the hot dog costume being like we're all
trying to find the guy who did this uh yeah I was very guilty of that hype uh no the Tyler done article
so and you know this being in these buildings and I think I know this from talking with you know
you and everyone I know in the league and and you know doing a podcast for a long time about the NFL
the NFL, especially dysfunctional organizations, it becomes a cover your own ass exercise at every turn,
where when things are going bad, everyone's looking out for themselves.
And the good teams don't have that because the good teams, everyone's pulling on the same rope.
And the dysfunctional organizations, like the first sign of trouble, everyone's like, how can I make it so that I can get another job?
I don't give a fuck about what's going on here.
So I wasn't that surprised that this type of article came out because what we saw for the last six months was the coaching staff was terrible.
The coaching staff failed Caleb.
The coaching staff, they weren't watching tape with him.
So the narrative was set on the coaching staff's blame.
I always expected these guys to kind of fight back so that they can someday go to a new building and be like, hey, what happened in 2024 with the Bears?
And they're like, look at this article.
So I wasn't surprised.
I think it's kind of bullshit because I think the anonymous part is bullshit.
Like just put your name behind it if you're going to say the guy sucks.
And he might suck.
So you might end up being right, but just at least own it.
Could you imagine if that was the way things worked and like coaches were yearly just dumping on players of the places they left?
Right.
But you know how this works?
Like receivers being like, yeah, that guy fucking sucks.
Yeah.
Monta Adams was like honest about what he felt about Jimmy.
and we didn't have that big kumbaya moment when they got back together you know like it would be a lot more interesting
yeah but you know how it works in in in these buildings and around the league it's like fucking high school with the gossip like if a guy if a team is out on a guy everyone in the
fucking league knows it yeah you know what I mean they they they tell everyone they tell all their friends every it's not a it's it's it's a big league but it's not like everyone has you know their webs everywhere and to you know I was here at college whatever with other guys so word gets around so
I'm not, I'm not shocked that this article came out.
I do think it was a little bit of bullshit with the anonymous stuff.
It's not like we were like state secrets or WikiLeaks.
It was just like they think the guy stinks.
And then some of the edits, you know, some of the quotes like the dyslexia part was bullshit.
That's just like.
Yeah, there was a lot of extra English on this one.
Yeah.
You know, like they really, you could tell there was a lot of.
And there's the feeling of this guy got us fired.
Like that's what those people are saying out the door as they go, you know,
gather their resumes to try to get the next.
job. And I do think it was like the anonymous stuff is pretty unfair. But I think it's a larger
thing where it's like, dude, just a year ago, you were evaluating this cat. Right. And you had a choice
of anybody in, in college football, including Jaden Daniels and the other quarterbacks, or you could
pass on it. If you didn't do your homework, either this guy totally did an about face and was everything
you said he was in the article, or he's always been a little bit like this. And in that case,
then why didn't you do your homework? It's like with the Anthony Richardson.
thing like people want to shit on anthony richison like ballard and them picked the project yeah they
couldn't see it through to the end so you know it's sour grapes and it's also it it is it speaks more
i think it's less an indictment on cal but now Caleb definitely probably like if you asked me
gun to head like was Caleb like the best the easiest to work with his rookie year probably not
like there's definitely blame to go anyone who sees the world in black and white is a child in my
opinion. You know what I mean? Like if you see it as good but guy, bad guy, you're a child.
Whichever way you choose. That's, that's for literally everything in life. But, uh, I do think it goes
back to the dysfunction of the organization in that they kept the coaching staff. Shane
Waldron is not a QB developer guy. You should have gotten a QB development guy. You saw what
happened in Washington when they cleaned out the entire organization, obviously ownership, you
Oak changed. They got Cliff Kingsbury who not been the best head coach, but you know he can
develop a quarterback. So there are certain things that the Bears just didn't do. And then when
everything falls apart, they're like, how'd this happen? Well, it's because you guys run a dysfunctional
organization. You don't take the correct steps, the correct sequences to fix this problem. And it
feels like we're back in there. And it feels like Ben Johnson, like he didn't have the best game,
week one, but I'm a believer in Ben Johnson.
I'm very interested to see
Ben Johnson strikes me as a guy that if he doesn't think
he can win with Caleb, it's going to be a quick trigger.
Like he's going to be like, hey, I'm not, he wasn't my,
because this is the other part, and you can speak to it.
The craziest part about the NFL is if you didn't draft the guy,
he's almost not your problem.
Which is a crazy thing to like, to have to explain
because people think like, oh, that's a team, like those are your players.
But tell me if I'm wrong.
But like when it comes to a coach or GM, if it's not their draft pick, their draft pick,
they literally are like, I don't give a fuck.
If he doesn't produce, I'm done with him right now.
You're absolutely right.
That's a reality in the NFL for sure.
And guys that are holdovers from the last regime should know it when the guy walks in the building.
I think he's more on the end of the spectrum of, you know, trying to make it work because I think him being selective about his first head coaching job,
there's an implication there that he does see something in Caleb that's better than the other opportunity.
I think of a guy like Liam Cohen, if Trevor Lawrence looks like shit halfway through the season,
he's going to be like, not my fucking problem. I just got here.
Right.
You all like, yeah, it's just like, let's move on. But I do think, um, the implication that,
hey, I've been careful about where I'm going to pick my first job, handpicking Chicago.
You know, I think he sees something in him, um, that we all see, which is, you know,
he's got some rare abilities. I'm curious what you think about the gray t-shirt.
Oh, you got, I mean, when, when they pan to him in the,
huddle like i turned on tv a little late and i was like what the fuck is that dude honestly i don't
i i i truly don't give a fuck in the fact that like i just want him to play good football you do
kind of feel comfortable in one of those t-shirts yeah he can wear whatever he wants if he
could play good football if he could hit some deep shots and and and go through his progressions like
he could wear whatever he wants the problem is if you don't play well and you dress like that
people are going to pick it you know what i mean so and i know and i know
that you shouldn't, I overreact
too much. I think
most fans do. You can,
like, I always am amazed
how, you know,
in a locker room, they're able to just go
to the next game, because I would, if I were
in the Bears locker room right now, I'd be like, season's
over. Like, what are we even doing?
I don't know, man. The way I saw
DJ Moorm opening around last year and just some of
the dysfunction, the end of the Thanksgiving game,
like all that shit, like the floor, I think,
you know, it's like you're only seeing the tip of the iceberg.
I think it was worse than we even
imagine there and you spoke to it with the equal and opposite reaction on trying to burn
Caleb down after you leave yeah it had to be chaos in there so I think those players are like hey
let's give it a you know give it a chance we saw some magic the first drive let's build on that
but I got hey Odei Inbo played well for you yes last night so this is a little bright side for you
yeah the defensive line was a big question going into this game and we did have some injuries you know
like our cornerback position was was depleted um linebacker down yeah linebacker down
defensive line, that's a big question going into the season is like, where is the pass
rush going to come from other than Montez sweat?
That looked good.
And I, you know, I think the defense kind of ran out of gas a little in the fourth quarter,
which that does happen because especially when you're punting constantly.
Yeah.
I was also, I hate to say it, but I was so impressed by JJ McCarthy because that guy was in
fucking hell.
He was in torture chamber, the first half.
and for him to turn it around in game in his first start.
Like, I don't know if he's going to end up having an incredible career.
I don't know what, like, it's going to end up looking like a couple years down the road.
But if you're asking, like, what did it look like game one with all the odds stacked against you?
That was a hell of a performance, especially in the fourth quarter.
That's the kind of thing that wins teammates over.
Yeah.
You know, like, you're on the road.
It was loud at that place.
I mean, it was loud.
I remember coming there for, I don't want.
and bring it up, but 2018 double doink.
I'm thinking about how fucking loud that stadium can get on third down.
It, like, surprised me.
It's just you guys haven't been in situations like that a lot over the last decade.
And last night it felt like a playoff game.
And at some point, he throws that pick six and you're down two scores and they haven't done
anything.
Now, remember, they're down Darrasaw.
They're down Addison.
They're, you know, they got a rookie left guard.
They're putting some new pieces in up front.
So, like, this is going to be slow.
And I thought in camp, it was so unfair.
people were ripping this guy because of what they heard in preseason.
I'm like, they don't let Sam Darnal walk if they don't think he's pretty good.
Yeah.
Like, I'm not saying Sam's a top five quarterback, but I think JJ in a place that I would,
I would say probably a top three place to play quarterback under Kevin O'Connell.
Yeah.
Those two receivers outside.
You know, he's going to be fine.
And I don't know that he's going to be like one of the best five to ten quarterbacks in the league at any point soon.
but for a Chicago kid
to be like this when you wake up the morning
you're playing your pro debut really
in the city you grew up
you're running through the scenarios in your head
and like this could be the best day of my life
or the worst day of my life as an athlete
and it was going the direction of the worst day
worst yeah and he's and he's young
like he hasn't played a lot of football
like I know like he you know he played two years at Michigan
but it wasn't he wasn't asked to do a ton
and I was just I was super impressed
I do, the one silver lining of all this is I do think the Vikings are very good.
And like that, this is one of those things where I know J.J. McCarthy is a rookie, but that was a 14 win team last year.
Yeah.
And their defense is really good and well coached.
And they have like the best wide receiver.
And they, you know, they beefed up their running games.
He dropped a couple.
Yeah, he did.
And that makes it hard to get into a rhythm.
Like he was sacked the first couple times out, the whole thing.
I got a question for you.
And before we move on from this national nightmare, there was one coaching.
decision and I think Ben Johnson is going to be great there.
But this is a creative deal that people don't think about sometimes,
but at the end of the game, with the timeout situation being the way it was,
you try to kick it through the end zone.
The guy didn't have enough leg.
And he got it halfway through the end zone.
Returner takes a second, runs it out to get it across the two-minute warning.
I kick it out of bounds.
A hundred percent.
And you have to know your personnel.
I've been preaching this for the last year and a half.
Cairo Santos nice guy
Really good
Really good at kicking it
You know
50 yards on in
You can't win in the NFL
These days with a kicker who doesn't have a leg
Like it's just
You're putting your team in a bad spot
And it's like I don't care if he's perfect
From 40 yards
Everyone should be perfect from 40 yards
You have to have a guy
Who can potentially hit a 60 yard kick
You know we saw it with Chris Boswell
We saw it with like
With the guy from the Vikings last night.
The guy from the Vikings.
The little chipmunk face.
Yeah.
I was like, really?
Kevin, you're going to kick this football?
Yeah.
Riker is, yeah.
He looks like he should be like an intern on Wall Street.
And he's out there kicking a 58 yarder.
So I knew, like, I was like,
Cairo might not be able to kick this out.
I don't understand that you should have kicked out of bounds.
It's a five, it's a difference of five yards.
Yeah.
You're starting at 35 or starting at the 40.
It's crazy.
All that mattered was the time there.
and they blew it.
And that's why, like, you know, there's a lot of penalties for the Bears as well.
I think Ben Johnson did not have his best debut.
But again, it's like you got to trust that he's going to be the difference maker long term,
whether or not that includes Caleb.
I don't know.
I don't really know what, like, what do I have to, like, what does Caleb have to,
like he, at this point, it's been 18 games, and it's like a situation where I want him to be good
but at some point you've got to be like hey i've been seeing the same thing and it's not it's not
getting better but it's not getting better i know but it's only week one you just did this whole
thing about i'm going to be measured and i'm going to take it's only week one bro you started the podcast

make it legendary all right so i want to go i want to discuss some of the good teams
Let's talk about your tears here because I saw your tears came out this morning.
Juggernauts, you've got Eagles, Bills, you've got Packers.
The first thing I want to ask you is Mahomes is catching points at home for the second time in this career this Sunday against the Eagles.
We saw those two teams what felt like two weeks ago.
I'm wondering if you have concerns about either of those teams and how you think that matchup goes.
Jalen Carter, is he playing?
Is he suspended?
He's not suspended, correct?
L'Orio said that the suspension is still on the table.
Oh, because that obviously makes a huge difference.
You saw it in the Eagles defense.
Makes a big difference.
Oh, wait, we got breaking news.
Hold on.
What happened?
Okay, Jalen Carter's playing.
Okay, good.
So he got fined $57,000 is from Adam Schefter like two minutes ago.
$57,000 spitting on Dak Prescott.
The league also says the game he was ejected for will serve as a one-game suspension.
Oh, because he never played.
played a snap he never played a snap that's smart if you're going to get on somebody's chest you do it
before it's the tv timeout before the game starts yes that's the next level yeah by my guy that's
smart i don't think the eagle's secondary is there yet uh the cowboys kind of had their way with him in that
first half i still i still think that like the chiefs i don't know like my home did mahomes
my homes my homes doesn't look like he did when you know he started like he it's been i think bro i just
want to say this, I think he's fine.
No, I think he's fine, but it's not the same, like, out of this world.
And I, yeah, I would say probably have to take the Chiefs just because back against the
wall and they have the championship DNA.
But remember, the Chiefs won a lot of one-score games last year.
And it's like, you know how this works.
And they just lost one.
Yeah, it could be the luck of the, like, the bounce of the ball sometimes is like a difference
between a 10 and 7 team and a 14 and 3 team.
So I don't know, like I'm not saying that this isn't going to be their year.
Yeah.
But I want to take the Eagles, but I feel like I know better.
Chiefs needed to be a lower scoring game.
And I think when you look at the Chiefs, they'll be fine offensively as the year goes on because they'll get Rice back.
You know, the screen game's non-existent right now.
They haven't really run the ball.
Worthy's hurt.
Simmons, the left tackle, like that's the one thing I came away from that game saying he'll have better protection this year.
The thing I worry about is the defense.
and the Eagles the last time they saw each other, which again feels like just yesterday,
you know, they put up 40 before they blinked.
And so, you know, I kind of worry about the Chiefs defense this year.
You got the bills up there.
That's no surprise.
I thought they were going to get torched and they did and they still won.
Yep.
Yeah.
I mean, Josh is just like, he's in that level now where it doesn't matter what, who they're playing,
when they're playing it.
Defense doesn't really matter.
He's going to give you a chance to win.
It's like the Warriors.
It's like watching NBA teams.
Like there's no lead that's safe.
Right.
It's like Big 12 football out there watching those two teams.
And then you've got you've got Washington.
Yeah.
Good job on Tampa.
I'm with you.
Yep.
And L.A. is Super Bowl contenders.
And obviously the Ravens are Super Bowl contenders as long as they have a three-score lead.
Is there anybody in pro sports that the Ravens resemble to you or in college sports?
Ooh.
They might be, they might be George.
before Georgia broke through.
Before 21 and 22 or whatever.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Where it's just like this team is so good.
Why can't they just do it?
You know?
Because that's what the Ravens are.
They're so good.
They're so good.
And like, yes, if you told me like, they win the Super Bowl this year, but like, yeah, that makes sense.
They're one of the best four teams in the NFL, but they just can't, I don't know what it is.
They just can't win those big games.
I think it starts to be mental after a while.
It kind of, there used to be a verb, clemsoning.
Yep. And then Clemson got good too.
And so it's not as fun anymore.
But I would liken them to those two.
Teams, Georgia was at the top of mine, too.
Under Cannons,
you got Josh.
You also have.
Jamie Lee Curtis.
Jimmy Lee Curtis.
And Sidney.
People were mad.
I didn't have Nancy Pelosi in there.
I probably should have.
She does have cannons.
Look it up.
Search it.
The picture on the beach.
Canons?
Dude, can I just, I just got to say this.
And I've been waiting for the right person to have this conversation.
with i cannot believe that that sidney sweeney is this generation's like i just don't see it what do you
mean okay i guess i'm it's all in the tier i guess well here's the thing i think that what you're missing
is that like tits are back like we had a run of asses yeah and i think tits are back like big
tits are america well the last one's not over for some people that's all i'm saying okay but i just
think you got to get with the times like we've we had they had a nice they had a nice run where it's like
asses asses now it's like no tits tits are sick dude okay all right cool so then so that so that this
this relates to my next question daniel jones may be a hall of famer that's one tier and then if
you look down at mega ass cheeks extra booty stink we've got the we got the fins yeah it's over
do you remember some of them i mean like listen i've been you know my legs are tired from taking
victory lap so it's not it's not one of those things but this one you don't really get a victory
lap why not because i was having a little bit of fun with two and on you were getting bothered by
two and on i'm a troll at heart you get a mini victory lap well can we take one together if you
didn't think he was actually good i i i i don't want to say that i secretly thought he wasn't good i thought
he was he's serviceable but now it's falling apart and i had i so i knew i bet the colts on on uh sunday
I knew that the, the dolphins were my bad vibes team of the year, like going into the season.
I was like, I'm looking at the teams, everyone's saying saints, giants, worst team in the league.
I was like, it could very well be the dolphins because that feels like a situation that is falling apart and will continue to fall apart.
And yeah, Tua, I don't know what it is.
Like, he's lost.
He used to be good with the, like, he's never had the strongest arm, but his timing used to be good.
he used to be able to hit some of these plays he was so bad on Sunday well I feel like this is we've
just I mean somebody from to and on Sunday tweeted out like hey to all the two of haters you were
right good shit or whatever it was and I was like hey the the long national nightmare is over the war is
over like we we took some casualties yeah you know in the battle of Denver and everything but like
ultimately we won the war you know and it was one of those things where I felt gaslit for the
better part two years where have you ever had a take where you were like i know i'm right but i got to
sit through this like yeah i got to see it through like and i got to wear it you know some sundays
because people don't see the big picture sometimes like have you had a take like that before yeah i mean
rsillo and i disagreeing about uh we've had two big disagreements in in in our friendship one was
cliff kingsbury's a head coach and one was jared goff and i like got upset about it jared goff
because he was just like, yeah, he stinks.
I was like, no, he fucking doesn't.
And I don't think he does.
I don't think he does either.
I think a player.
But, no, you're right.
You do get a victory lap here because you did stay strong.
It sucks because you obviously, like, we're joking here.
You don't want a guy to be bad.
I don't.
And I hate it when it turns into a thing like where in the beginning I'm delivering a take.
And maybe I have a little extra mustard on it.
Like, what happened to me was I went to ESPN one day and I had had a shitty week.
My buddy had like a heart attack.
And it was all, I was all fucked up.
And I went.
to ESPN and their guy like Hembo and them.
You know, they get you up there and get up and they can tell where your little pressure
points are. And they're like, yeah, like, and they get you to put a little extra mustard
on it. They ended up in this situation where I stumbled upon like Tuanon and Dolphins Twitter.
And then from that part, it was, point it was war. And it became a thing where like when I
delivered my take sometimes, I put too much mustard on it, trying to like come at the fans,
not at Tua. Like when I was watching Tua a year before I gave that take, I was pulling
for him. Yeah. And then suddenly you wake up one day and you're like, wait, I don't hate the player. What's
going on here? Yeah. Yeah. And I, I'll hand up. Uh, I do love crazy fan bases. And I think if they didn't come up with
the name to and on, I probably wouldn't have co-opted it, but it was just so funny to me.
Chuck Mountain. They would just go after people.
It took me and Chris Sims on Cuck Mountain. Dude, it was so funny. Like that's, that's the shit I
fucking love when when fan bases you know we get a little like I don't know if you're I don't know
you like you're you're tuned into college basketball because of Virginia but yeah the uh like
providence basketball like I don't know if you've ever seen there what they do online it's so
funny oh dude they just they just go after people they had ed coolly have to like do a press
conference being like I'm not retiring from Georgetown because I started a rumor about it and it's
just like so that should just always makes me laugh and I'm always like for that where it's like
good fun like riding for your guy but in a funny way so yeah you do get a victory lap um okay that
dolphin's team is that they're so bad and it's not just the qb i'm not making it like the the the
corners are you know it's a it's a five alarm fire and you've you've got a ton of issues with
discipline physicality and the thing that sucks is like i like mike macdainiel like i want to like
him but now you've got guys like rick ryan calling him a dork on tv and like and you're like oh no not
boy like yeah you know i wanted him to survive this i would love if we would see a zach wilson
chapter this year i dude i had a take it's good for tv i had a take that zach wilson could maybe
you know recapture his career if mike mcdaniel because he can obviously scheme it up but yeah you're
right like the rex by the way had that held in the whole story oh he couldn't wait oh you're
fucking couldn't wait so so excited to drop that i i do think there's a there's a level i'm sure you
you've you've been coached by these guys where it's like they're incredible for
football coaches, but they're not head coaches.
And Mike McDaniel might be a head coach again after this, and he might be good.
But like even Dennis Allen coached a great defensive plan against the Vikings on Monday night.
Dennis Allen is like statistically one of the worst head coaches of all time.
That doesn't mean he's not a really good defensive coordinator.
Dude, one of the best strategies is to like buy low on a fired defensive head coach.
Yeah.
Like get him back to doing what he loves doing, which is packing dips and breaking down film.
Yeah.
That's kind of like, like that head coach shit sucks.
You got to like schedule the bus for away trips.
Like how are we doing our practice week?
Where are we staying?
Like, you know, how do I talk to the quarterback or put out this fire?
I got to check with Big Dom if a guy gets in trouble.
Like that's more like being the president.
So I think honestly, that's a great strategy.
Those guys do come back strong as head coaches.
So I don't want to go all the way down the list.
But my question to you is like, was there a team that you were wrong?
about week one and you're kind of wearing it
and the other way
was there a team that you're most proud
of their performance because of a take you gave?
I'm a little, so I was wrong
about the Giants
and the fact that
my take with the Giants was going to be they weren't going to win
a lot of games, they weren't going to be good, but they were going to be
in a lot of games. And I guess they were
kind of in that game against the commanders, but
they really weren't. Russ just isn't
it? Like they need to just move on.
And then I also
I did say I had the Titans as like my upset pick of the week.
They were in that game.
I'm not buying all the Broncos hype.
And I think their defense is awesome.
It feels too convenient.
It feels too convenient.
I also think like Bo Nix was awesome last year.
I think that he has some limitations that can be exploited at times.
Yeah, pressure.
Yep.
And then the Chargers, I've always been a Justin Herbert believer.
I know he's like maybe the most toxic disgust,
quarterback online besides Tua, but I've always been like he's, he is the guy. It's just,
he's the guy. Like he is, he is 100% a top 710 guy and it will happen. And that week,
that Friday night game, he was out of this world good. I think, I think, and that's to answer
my own question on my end, like the Chargers, I, because of the Slater injury, you know,
I was, I was teetering on like picking somebody else in the West. I didn't do it. I'm not,
I don't regret that.
Like, I'll still take the Chiefs because I think they get better eventually.
But the Chargers look like a team that awaited all summer to kick their ass.
You know, that was personal.
And I love Herbert, dude.
Like, you get tired of defending, you know, him against the haters when the, you know, the final result isn't where you'd like to, like it to be to justify it.
I have a theory on Justin Herbert, which is that, like, there's a psychological element to people's analysis of him.
there is with every quarterback but like he's that classic toolsy quarterback yeah he's prototypical tall
you know good hair big arm white guy you know like that whole thing and people get fucking tired of
seeing guys get multiple swings at it with those tools and nothing else yeah i think he got
kind of caught in the crossfire of like well he's he hasn't done anything like we're all just
in love with the tools but the tools are real with yeah they're terrorizingly real
And he has top 10 tools.
He just hasn't been on teams that, in my opinion, are perfectly set up around him.
And, like, the Stalyer was terrible.
I mean, he got laughed out of town.
And then now, you know, Greg Roman last year ran the offense through the running backs.
And they didn't have great, great receivers outside.
Like, what I love the other night is they set up the run with the pass.
Like, they put Herbert on display.
And that was great.
So.
Yeah.
And he also got caught in the crosshairs.
And this is when I wish I, like,
I love my job.
I'm the luckiest guy in the world to be able to just like fuck around with my friends and talk sports.
But like part of me wishes sometimes I'm like, man, I wish I could just watch the game and not like see any of the internet discourse and not be online because Herbert was I could try.
Herbert definitely got caught in the crossfires of like the nerds loved him and he didn't win in the playoffs.
So the meatballs were like this guy's a loser.
You know what I mean?
So it goes back to my black and white.
It's never black and white.
The nerds probably loved him a little too much.
And the meatballs probably hated him a little too much.
And it's like he's somewhere in the middle where it's like he's a really good quarterback.
He just needs to put it all together.
And we saw that on Friday now.
Who's the nerd's favorite quarterback?
I think it's Herbert.
Is it Herbert?
I think it has to be Herbert.
Who's the Meathead's favorite quarterback?
Josh Allen?
No.
Josh Allen's really, I mean.
He's got to be everybody's.
He's everyone's favorite.
point yeah you got to you got to admit the meathead's favorite quarterback i don't know the answer to that
maybe baker and i don't say that in a bad way like baker's just you know he is like the way he just
runs over people he's such a gamer he's such a tough dude yeah it might be him and he's also like had a lot
of adversity in his professional career and it's like he's fought through that i think it might be baker
which NFL quarterback's most like ryan rissillo oh good question is it jalen hurts
I don't know.
That's my segue.
It's asking about Ryan.
Yeah, I think it's Jalen Hertz.
Like squats so much.
No.
Cares about his body.
Ryan doesn't squat that much.
He benches.
He almost died in his squat machine.
He squats so much.
He doesn't squat enough.
Yeah.
He cares about his body.
Quiet,
stoic leader.
Yeah.
Kind of like,
I feel like Jalen Hertz is like he's got like almost like an inside,
like the thing I love about Riscilla is he's got almost like an inside.
dialogue inside joke with himself that's always going where like he's like making himself laugh
and like he's a very funny guy. Uh, and I feel like Jalen Hertz might be like that too where he's
he doesn't he's not talk he's not like doing like crazy press conferences, but he's like
laughing to himself being like, well, that's ridiculous. Like that's stupid. That's pretty good. Yeah.
That's pretty good. I, okay. So how do you feel about being like is it, are you co-workers with
Riscilla now? Like I'm not up on sports media biz, dude. Yeah. I mean, kind of. Uh, people
obviously freaked out. I'm not going to put words into
Riscilla's mouth here. People obviously
freaked out when they saw the news because they
see Rissila at a bar stool
and they immediately are like,
oh, Riscilla's going to be like in the gambling
cave like fighting with Nikki Smokes
on a Sunday. That's not going to
happen. The way I would describe it is like
we are a big company.
We got a lot of different guys. We got a lot
of guys who do everything. We got a lot of guys
who do some things.
Like I think
the spit and shicklets guys is
kind of a good, like appropriate
analogy for what I would
envision Rosillo and it might change.
So again, I'm not going to just like box a minute
or something, but like, biz and wit
are awesome. They have an incredible
podcast. They are part of
bar stool. They also like, they
do the things they want to do. They do the mini golf.
They do the golf stuff. Like, they'll
come and visit every now and then. It doesn't,
they're not going to be here every day getting into the drama,
but they're still, you know,
co-workers. So I think it's going to be
something like that, which is, I'm excited
for. I mean, I obviously love Versilil. He's a very good friend. And I'm pumped for him because I think he's going to, I think the screenwriting thing's going to work. I think the, obviously, we know the podcast works. So I'm excited for it. And I, yeah, people freaked out and they're immediately like, oh, shit. Like he's going to, he's going to be like getting pranked by Mincy and like he's going to hate that. It's like, he's not, he's not going to say he's not going to have a conversation with Mincy because if he ever steps foot in this office, Mincy would corner him. But, uh, yeah, it's not, it's not going to be like,
Dave like, you know, ripping on Rissillo being like, what an idiot for Twitter beefs.
Yeah, right.
He's not going to be, he's going to be above all that.
And he deserves to be above all that.
He's, he doesn't, he knows his audience.
He knows his age.
Like, why would he, why would he get involved in that stuff?
You know, it's kind of a seven, oh my God, dude.
What?
Riscilla was with Scott Van Pelt on their ESPN radio show officially titled SVP and
Riscilla from 2009 until the show ended mid-2015, a period of about six years.
years.
Yeah.
And then at the ringer, he was there six years as well.
Is he a seven-year-rich guy?
Oh, that's a good question.
That's interesting.
Yeah.
So enjoy him while you can.
So we get six years, then he's going to go to Greenlight.
I hope.
It's just passed my out.
Money to fucking hire Ryan Rosillo.
Are you kidding me?
Yeah.
I mean, you don't have to pay for like family health insurance or anything.
That's true.
That's true.
You know he's always available.
He's always available.
Unless he's watching the NBA.
By the way, can I tell a quick Rissillo anecdote?
Yeah, anytime.
I'm so mad.
I'm so mad at myself.
Why?
Because we joke all the time about like, we're, like, we joke with Ricill because he
loves the NBA and we're like, we have a count, we have four countdown clocks that
I'm looking at right now for the countdown to football.
We had it all summer.
We also have a clock that updates.
So after like Monday night football last night, it's restarts three days, 45 minutes,
14 seconds.
It's like a locker room.
We used to have that stupid shit.
Yeah, we love it.
So we bust Rousseau's balls.
Like, you're not a football guy.
You don't understand.
Like, we got to have the countdown.
You don't like the countdown.
You hate the countdown.
Who me?
Yeah, don't you hate the countdown?
No, when I was in a locker room, like, they used to have the countdown.
Like, we'd have a countdown until, like, the tech game.
Yeah.
We never beat them.
So I don't know what that was about.
But you don't like the, like, 100 days until football tweets?
No, I don't mind those.
But I'm like, God, what it does is it makes me feel insecure.
about like my commitment to football.
Yeah.
So that's for Sula.
I'm on a fucking break, man.
Like I don't need to like I don't need to pull up like a tekeo spikes picture because
I'm 51 days out.
Like what was your rant last year?
You did a video rant that I got tagged in a bunch.
What was it about it was like I mean,
I definitely ranted about the NBA and the NFL.
Was it after the football season where you're like, what are we going to do?
Oh yeah.
Oh, oh.
Oh, that's my favorite fucking thing.
Oh my God.
All these people.
Oh, what are we going to do?
Oh, I have no.
fucking life.
Oh.
Like,
what do you do every Sunday?
Like, go outside, man.
Play with your kids.
Fucking get drunk Saturday night.
Sleep in.
Oh, you're really,
oh, you're struggling
without football.
Oh, me too.
Oh, me more.
Because I like football the most.
Oh.
What am I going to do?
It's Sunday.
I just, oh.
There's not 16 hours of football.
Oh.
I'm a content creator.
Oh, what am I going to create now?
Figure it out.
I got tagged in that a lot.
But anyway, so Ricelo, so this is what we're like, the dynamic we have with Ricillo.
I'm so mad that I fell for this.
At 1159 central time on Sunday, he called me, and I'm so dumb for picking up.
And he just goes, hey, what are you up to?
And I was like, God fucking damn it.
Why did I pick up?
He was just fucking with me.
And he's like, I cannot believe you picked up this phone call.
It was right before the kickoff.
He's like, hey, what's up?
What are you up to?
Oh, man.
And he got me good.
Rissillo will keep you on the phone a little while.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
He does full podcasts on the phone.
Like he.
Bro, I can't tell.
Sometimes I'm like, have you been outside in a couple days?
Am I the first person you're talking to in a while?
And then I'll be like, hey, Ricillo, I've got that.
And I've told him this before.
But I'll be like, I got this really important thing to tell you.
And he's like,
Uh-huh. Anyways, I get this screen, screen play that I'm working on.
Yeah. Speaking of that, let me ask you this. Are you going to, are you going to give a boner dogs another run with Rosillo in-house? Like, maybe he could, he could lend his pen.
We should. We should. We absolutely should. Just sprucing it up a little. We're stuck right now. We're writing a book. You're going to have to write a chapter.
What's the book? Ten years of it part of my take. Oh, that's incredible. I did see I'm still up there, like as far as like people on.
Although my dad's climbing the ranks.
Your dad has been on a couple times.
But yeah, you're going to have to,
we're basically going to make everyone who is, like, important to us,
and you're definitely in that category,
write a part of the book so that we don't have to write the whole thing.
Yeah, I'll write a, I'll write a fucking chapter.
It's going to be a terrible book.
Terrible.
I look back at the Bonner's dog thing, like, from the first time.
I didn't realize where it started.
Was Dan Patrick the first guy you pitched it to?
I think it was, yeah.
I think Dan really.
walk out because of that?
No, he, he was, he was cool.
He, uh, we, he was supposed to be the second guest on Barstool Van Talk, which got
canceled before the second episode ever, uh, aired.
That was such a shame.
Such a shame.
Uh, you know, but it actually saved our lives.
Yeah, everything worked.
Yeah, saved our lives.
Uh, we had an idea, because like he would, you know, his catchphrase of like, he's on fire.
We wanted to light Dan Patrick on fire.
and they were like, you can't do that.
And we're like, what do you mean?
We can't like, it's just going to be a small fire, like really like controlled small fire.
Like not a, we're not going to like.
The Danettes on fire instead?
Yeah.
Oh, man.
You should start a bar stool bus talk.
Oh, that's good.
Yeah.
Think about that one.
Think about that one.
I just bought a new conversion van.
Oh, did you?
What kind of?
It's in 1990.
So we had Vanney Woodhead for a long time.
It broke down.
It's not really.
doing well. Saw on Instagram. It was probably an Instagram ad that was like targeted to me.
Basically a replica of Vanney Woodhead. It's like a 1992 Chevy whatever, uh, green, same color.
And I saw it online. I was like, I got to have it. So impulse by probably stupid,
because I don't really know how I'm going to use it. Where do you park things?
I have it in my loading dock here at the office. Okay. So, uh, we have two vans,
literally sitting in the loading dock right now. Uh, and we have like nothing to do with them.
but I was like, PFT bought an El Camino a few months ago.
Yeah.
And I saw him driving around.
He's like, I want, I want something cool that I like.
And so I just bought it.
Dude, that's so great.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It wasn't cheap.
It's such a power.
Yeah.
It wasn't cheap.
It was like 20 grand.
Oh, no, that's not cheap for a 92 of Conno one or whatever was.
It was an impulse buy.
Um, all right.
So the other thing I want to talk to you about is this.
Like you said 10 years, you've been doing this 10 years,
part of my take.
Amazing run.
I don't see it stopping until you're gray and old.
And that makes me wonder, like, when will you stop podcasting?
It's a really good question.
I think if I had to be, like, fully transparent on us here, I think there will be a time
in the next, I will say, let's call it two to four years, that I will start to wind down a little bit.
And when I say wind down a little bit, I mean some, like right now, I don't have free time.
I just don't.
I, the amount of stuff that I have to do, all the shows I have to do, it's kind of ridiculous
because it's just like I'm pulled in a million different directions.
And I also do think there's like an overexosure factor.
Like I don't think anyone wants to listen to me this much.
Like it's like last Friday, we did, I looked at it.
And between live shows and shows that were released on Friday.
There was 10 hours of me doing stuff.
That's too much.
That's too much shit.
No one wants to hear me talk for 10 hours.
So I think in the next few years, I'm going to start winding down a little.
But the winding down will be to just do part of my take.
Do you know what I mean?
Yes.
So that, and I think that will give me the juice to keep it going for longer.
And I honestly, like, I know it sounds ridiculous, but like I will do this show for as long as PFT and Hank want to do this show.
because the alternative is inviting PFT over to my house on Sundays and watching games with him and just sitting there and doing the podcast.
You're going to do it anyways.
With no microphones.
So, like, because I love watching ball with them.
I love, I love them.
So, uh, I hope that we get to a day.
Like, I do, I do think we'll get to a point.
I used to always be nervous about, like, when I'm washed up, so to speak.
And now I think I'm at, like, a point where it's like, all right, like, if we're doing this in five, ten years, let's say, there'll probably be some people that will make fun.
of us and be like these guys are old and they're out of touch it's like but if we still have a core
audience what the fuck do i care well your core audience is getting older true and if they're and if they're
not transitioning to the ringer then yeah then you then you got it made dude you got a whole you got a whole
army of awl's that yeah they're going to fall you into your 50s and i'm kind of like i'm just saying like
what does it look like when you're 55 like i don't know i i think about this shit and i haven't been at it
near as long as you i think the real answer is
if I'm lucky enough, I would love to do it until my kids are out of high school.
Because then it's like, then you get to a point where you're like, all right, I want to.
Yeah, but the real magic starts when they're out of high school and you don't feel like you have to answer to anything anymore.
And you're just like, I can't embarrass my kids anymore.
Yeah.
Like, you know what I mean?
Because that's the thing that's starting to keep me in between the lines is like my kids now, like Wayland's nine.
Like kids are on YouTube.
They're going to, you know, he's going to hear what I have to say.
Oh, yeah.
That shit's in my head.
Oh, yeah. Oh, dude. I've, I've joked about it before. But the, the drug talk you have with your kids, I am so fucked.
When is that?
I don't know, but I know that I'm fucked because my kids, my kids will be able to pull up so many clips of weed, mushrooms, cocaine, anything, and just be like, binge drinking and be like, hey, what were you saying, Dad?
Yeah. And so my drug talk will literally be like, just try to be safe, okay? Just be safe.
When do you have the drug talk?
When do you tell your kid like what that smell is?
I don't know.
Probably like, well, now I don't know because like remember when we're growing up
It's like weed was like like oh my God like oh I got a gram of weed like this is crazy now it's you can there's a fucking weed store on every corner
The problem is though now the weeds really really strong.
Yeah
We're like when you're kids you couldn't get into any trouble with a gram of weed like now like that shit can fuck you up.
Yeah 30.
I'm looking for the mids these days bro.
Yeah.
Big time.
The other thing I have is age dysmorphia,
and I'm starting to realize it watching, like,
you sat down in interview Ben Johnson.
Yeah.
And like, in my head pictures, he's older than me.
Yes.
Dude, no.
All right.
So,
mature.
This is a problem that you probably didn't deal with till now.
Dude,
because I've been doing with it.
No,
but I've dealt with it.
You deal with it your whole life as a sports fan.
Because if you tell,
if like a 24-year-old kid,
like, J.J.
McCarthy's older than me.
In your head?
Yes, because he, how, like, you can't, he went out and did that at Soldier Field.
I'm under the football.
Like, he's older than me.
He's young and he's brave and he's got, you know, pliable joints and shit.
Like, we would die, dude.
Like, it's the people that are fucking me up are like the young, the OCs, not even the young ones anymore.
Like, the guys who get hired and I'm criticizing them and assuming they're like big boys and they can take it,
but they're like younger than me and shit.
Yeah.
The GM for the Jags.
Have you seen a picture of him?
he looks like he
brother he looks like
somebody come over for a sleepover in my house
and I would be like yeah it looks a little old
but we met him at the combine
because we interviewed Liam Cohn
he looked like in person
I thought he was like a social media intern
I didn't even know who he was I was like
oh hey what's up like it I didn't it didn't register
to me until after and someone was like
that was the GM I was like what
did you see Matt Prater the other night
like when Matt Prater was on the screen
Like the build players thought he was a coach
But I go, God damn, Matt Prater
Looks old as fuck.
And then I look it up and he's like my age.
Right.
I know.
It fucks you up really bad when you realize like, fuck, I'm getting old.
It's not good, bro.
But you're still going strong, dude.
You know, I don't think there's any such thing as big cat over exposure.
We need a big cat.
I feel it.
I have one for you.
I have one question for you.
Yeah.
What the fuck happened in the fourth quarter?
and second half on Saturday.
You guys fucked me so bad.
I had Virginia in that game,
and they had so many chances to cover that spread.
Can I tell you a dirty little secret?
What?
I was spending my Saturday at the flag football fields,
and I didn't even have to ride that wave of sorrow, dude.
Like, I've been beaten into submission.
So they tell me Virginia is going to be good this year,
and I believe it.
I went to Coastal Carolina.
I had Robert Quinn and William Hayes up
and we went and sat in the upper deck
like at the very top of the stadium
but yeah the corner
and Washington beat the shit out of Coastal Carolina
and NC states like always a tough
tough matchup down there like that's a good program
yeah um so I'm just happy we were in the game man
like I didn't see exactly what happened
because I was watching um you know
my six and nine year olds play flag football
and here's the fucked up part now my schedule
with flag football is like we got an 11 and like a two
every Saturday.
So what I'm doing is bringing my RV to flag to flag football and parking in the parking lot.
And like we're all hanging out in the RV.
I'm going to have a cooler with beers and shit and college football.
That's awesome.
So that's going to be my Saturday from here and out.
I did not see Virginia.
I'm sorry that you,
you jumped on the hype.
I got to be honest.
I didn't see them either because I was with my two oldest kids.
I wish I was at a flag football field.
I was instead holding them down while they got their flu vaccines, their flu shots.
And I was like, it was already here.
You've gone woke.
Yeah, I've gone woke.
It was one of those dad moments where I had to like, any day now.
I control, I, I had to control my rage because it was like, I was holding my kids down to get a shot.
Yeah.
While losing Virginia.
So, like, they were like after the shot, they're like, we get ice cream.
I'm like, yeah.
But I was like still upset about the Virginia, not the shot.
And they were, like, I could feel like I had to take a step back.
I had to take a step back and be like, all right, like, let you just.
just enjoy the ice cream let's have a nice saturday let's not let virginia collapsing like ruin your
whole mood but there's a moment where i was very testy and i was just like i got to i got to remove
myself from the fact that i'm losing money on like 18 year olds and be in the moment with my kids you
can't let sports fandom bleed into parenting it's happened for me a couple times like i my kid
knows that i gamble they don't fully understand it but like he's always on the other side of every game
And eventually I had to be like, hey, can you shut the fuck up?
Yeah, yeah.
That's why I like, I tell my kids when I bet the over because then it's understandable to them.
I'm like, we're rooting for both teams.
We're rooting for all the points.
That's safe right there, dude.
I might have to start betting the over.
Dan, appreciate you coming on, dude.
Thanks for, after a really long week one slate and everything that follows spending time with us.
Of course.
Love coming on and we'll have you on PMT soon.
That's pretty much why I did this is because I knew that like in,
In two weeks, I'm going to be like, hey, Chris, can you come on?
So I can't be like, oh, I can't do your podcast, but can you do mine?
I would happily come on and talk to Max about the joys of the institution we call marriage.
Congratulations.
Yes, congrats to Max.
His bachelor party, you're invited to his bachelor party.
Where is it?
He's doing a bachelor party with his friends.
Are you going?
We're going to do a PMT bachelor party.
I'll go.
If you're, if you guys are there, I had the best night with PFT at the Super Bowl.
It involved mushrooms in Vegas.
and we went to like those are my mushrooms yeah they were pretty damn good they had they had me I stayed on 14 and at the blackjack table in front of SVP and Stanford Steve that's how folks up I went and then we met mark david by the fountains at the win it was incredible night so I can't wait to get back with y'all boys you keep me posted on that bachelor party that would be actually awesome we got to do we got to get because it is going to be like pf the i or we told max for like whatever you want to do we'll pay for it and then bring a couple of our friends that would be awesome oh Ryan yeah yeah
Yeah, Ryan would be great.
He'd be great.
We'd end up on life advice, but I can handle it.
Okay, that's no problem.
All right, dude.
All right.
See you, man.
