Like, what else is there to say?
Like, Case Keenham played his butt off and Ben Johnson's a genius.
It feels like offensively the Bears were in, like, second and manageable and third and manageable on every series multiple times, dude.
It's just so frustrating, you know, Chris, when you're playing defense and you're like me, man,
and second and won every, every drive.
Brock Bowers, uncoverable.
I mean, he's out there at X, like, routing up Kool-Aid McKinstree.
First game back, too.
Yeah.
No, I mean, and you think, oh, they're going to use them sparingly?
No, these were the splits.
26 snaps out wide, 18 in the slot, 9 in line.
He is basically, as I just said, their ex-receiver.
Show me the my balls, Chris.
Are they still dilated?
Well, I was kind of wondering, I was, they look a little, they look a little dilated.
They were, they were fucking huge earlier, dude.
I had to go get an eye, um, an, an eye exam.
And they don't tell you that they,
they're going to dilate your eyes.
And then they're just like, all right, now that you can't see, good luck getting home.
Yeah, drive home, buddy.
Have a good one.
And then I get home and I'm like, it's time to interview B-Flo.
And that came out today for anybody who's, for anybody who likes the Vikings or wants to hear B-Flo talk,
that came out today.
But like, I get home and I got 20 minutes to like look at this nice pack of notes.
you got a ring light just shining right in your eyes dog i can't read my phone i can't see b flow i can't
set the fucking the the camera up and the interview went great but i couldn't see anything finally i can
see i wish i had got my eyeballs dilated before last night yeah i had a i had a little bit of an
eye thing yesterday too have ever had a scintillating scotoma no i don't even i don't know what that is
bro i thought i was having a stroke man i it was like a portal directly in front of my thing and i was like
Yo, I'm like, Maddie, come upstairs.
Like, I think I'm fucking stroking out.
And she's like, shut up.
Sintillating.
Sitalating scatoma.
Is a temporary visual disturbance featuring a shimmering, flickering blind spots
surrounded by bright jagged or kaleidoscope like zigzag patterns, bro.
I was freaking out, man.
Freaking out.
The internet has me thinking I'm dying once a week.
Yeah.
And when it finally happens, I'm going to be like, I knew it.
Yeah, thank God.
I told you.
No, I'm going to be like, you know, I did.
but I'm wrong every week.
Okay, so we got to talk about the Eagles and the Bears, man.
Oh, do we?
We do.
You know, and a lot of people want to, you know,
a nice thing about waiting a day is like we don't get too emotional about it
and you have time to really digest it and look at the film again.
There's so much, and I appreciate all the people that come out of that thing,
guns blazing, and they have a take immediately in the whole thing.
But I need a little.
time to look at that. I think coming in, I was, you know, I said this on the Monday show.
I have not seen Vic Fangio's defense look as out of sorts as it did, especially at the second
level off ball. Yeah. Last year against Ben Johnson's group. And I thought they would come in with their
hair on fire because they looked at that run tape all week. And they're playing the third
quarterback in Case Keenham, who nobody gives a chance. It turns out it really wasn't the
run game as much as it was the quick game and a brilliant job by Ben Johnson staying ahead of the
sticks. I thought one of the things that stood out is obviously the bad safety play, which we
become accustomed to seeing watching this Eagles team. And Kenny Moore is now, I think, off the
practice squad. He's going to be either a nickel or a safety. I would think it'd be more likely
that Cooper moves the safety, even though Vic said he wouldn't. They played a lot of cover.
three. And, you know, more than usual. So they're looking for more bodies in the box. And,
you know, that forces one of the two safeties down into the box to defend Quick Game. And to
me, that was, it wasn't just the safeties, but I thought the bread and butter of that Ben Johnson
offense last night was Case Keenham operating the offense and them taking what Vic Fangio's group
gave them through three games so far this year. I don't have the numbers, but they're clearly playing
a lot less match. They're playing more spot drop kind of zone defense. And to me, like, it looks like
a group that isn't what it was last year and they know it and they're scrambling a little bit.
They have turned it around before. You remember the Atlanta game a couple years ago,
the Super Bowl year and everything changed. But Cooper DeGine's not walking through that door.
He's already on the field. And I don't know that Kenny Moore is going to give you that
that Cooper DeGine catalyst factor that he gave you after that Atlanta game.
Yeah. No, I agree. It's always valid.
When we like we didn't talk today and then we come on the pot and you said it exactly dude like there it feels like
They were just offensively the bears were in like second and manageable and third and manageable on every series
Multiple times dude and so I literally like
I literally just went and looked it up man because we have all these literally looked it
I literally looked it up we have all these stats at our disposal
And I found their offensive success rate which was 17 of 30 so 56.7%
And that's, I mean, that's just so frustrating, you know, Chris, when you're playing defense and you're like, fuck me, man.
They're in second and one every, every fucking drive, you know, and you feel like it's, they can either run the ball, pick up a first down or, you know, get creative and take a shot.
Like second and one, you kind of have a lot of options at your disposal offensively, you know, but, um, case Keenum just looks so comfortable, man.
It looked like he'd been in that offense forever. I was very, very surprised with how efficient he was, how.
just like relaxed and on rhythm and on target he was he looked very accurate just shows how how ben
johnson's offense um when it's in rhythm like that like it's just a comfortable place to be when
you're fucking dial the quarterback man and you know what you're looking at you know well listen i think
ben johnson this meant a lot to him you know you heard some of the rumblings coming in that i
didn't think he read the internet the way evidently he does but people online are saying well he's never
succeeded without a number one pick. That was kind of the conversation this week a little bit going
into a game where he's got to start a guy who's not taking a snap in a few years.
38 years old. He hasn't played since Christmas Eve of 23. Chris, I don't know if you knew that.
It does feel like a long time ago. And Ben, after the game, made a comment alluding to that.
And it really was like he brought that into the statement he was making. It really didn't have much to do with the statement he was making.
It was a statement about mobile quarterbacks
And he said, you know, I have experience with an immobile quarterback
Which everybody took as a shot against Jared Golf
Which I don't think it is
I think he just
He's a smart guy and he wanted to remind people
That he just beat Vic Fangio and the Eagles
You know, took him behind the woodshed
With a third string quarterback
And a guy who hadn't taken snaps in a few years
And point taken
Because you know this is twice now
that he's kind of taking Vicks lunch money.
And, you know, you look at the third down distances last night.
And I'm not sure that I have all of them, but two, six, three, five, twelve, five, nine, one and six.
So you really have two third and longs.
Yeah.
And, you know, I just was so impressed with not only case being anything but rusty.
I mean, that first drive is a huge drive.
You're at home.
You can take control the game.
It's a seven minute drive where it's like.
defensively that puts a lot.
It puts the defense on their heels,
but it also puts a lot of pressure on the offense coming out
and saying, we can't go three and out.
We got to flip the field at the very least.
We can't give it right back to these guys.
Our defenses over there, huffing and puffing.
So we have all been in those situations as football players
where you go on the road and you get jumped.
And what was impressive to me,
and we're going to talk about some of the coaching decisions
and some of the wacky things that happened,
but was that the bears took the fight to them.
and they didn't have to just run the ball for 300 yards.
Case Keenham, man, the arm talent on this guy.
You know, back in the day, Case Keenham threw the ball around the yard, you know, at Houston with the best of him.
He wasn't a, you know, a lottery pick, but like the guy is a pro quarterback.
We played him, obviously, in the NFC championship game and everything.
So for him, hitting the whole shot to a duncee, you know, Grenard wins up and up and in early,
and he's able to dump it off.
and, you know, the throw across his body to Raymond, like,
I was really just, there were a couple moments where I just was like,
oh, my God, I'm sitting there watching with my kids.
Who is this guy?
And then my kids are like, are you serious, dude?
I'm like, yeah, dude, he used to hang out in the training room with me in Earth City,
him and Nick Foles, man, those guys.
So, I mean, I think probably if you counted it up,
Keenum's been in 10-11 systems.
over the course of his career.
So it doesn't surprise me that he has the playbook down.
But what surprised me a little bit was the quality of some of those throws he made.
There were legitimately tight window throws or throws where he was pressured.
Like, what year is this, man?
I think they came out and they made the statement that they set out to make.
Yeah.
And then offensively, too, Chris, I mean, you touched on this a little bit.
Just their, like, the bear's ability to control the game with time of possession.
Like, I think they had like almost 38 minutes time of possession.
and it felt like they had a like a 20 play drive that ate up like 15 minutes in the third and
fourth quarter you know and it's like man just that's that's impressive you know just operating
within the scheme doing what the fuck you're supposed to do and then you know protecting the ball
um eagles obviously lost the turnover battle and really the only turnover was the goal line stop
for the birds and that's i mean to me that's when you when you turn over the ball three times and
lose time of possession. Like, that's pretty indicative of how the game's going to go right there.
And you come out of the half and, you know, you have the ball for about a minute. If you're the Eagles,
like you had, and the Sean Mannion numbers in the second half, and I don't just want to
reduce it to the coordinator, but like, you know, I see where some of the narratives are going now.
And after a loss, it's the coordinator's fault. Well, you know, they've been bad in the second
half all season relative to their first half production. And this is who the Eagles offense has been
for a while now. It's been uneven. It's been inconsistent. And I think it's only, they're only
going to look worse at times if the defense can't hold up their end of the bargain. And for a long time,
this defense has been something you can hang your hat on and say, like, listen, we're going to get some
short fields. We're not going to have to, we're not going to have to go long spells between having the
football. This was one of the most inconsistent offenses last year. And when an inconsistent offense doesn't
have a lot of cracks at it, it can look like that. They ran probably 50 plays last night.
And I got something, you know, before we get into the dreaded quarterback conversation,
the head coach conversation, we'll save that for last with the Eagles. I think what I thought I'd
see when I watched the tape was, oh, there'll be some really encouraging stuff in the run game in the
first half. And it was, but I have bad news for Eagles fans.
that is a really piss poor front seven that you just played.
T.J. Edwards, come on.
No, I like T.J. Edwards.
And I like Montez Sweat.
I think they've got some good rushers.
You know, and Grady Jared had his moments.
But like when it comes to, when you go back,
because I watched the whole game.
And then I went back and watched the run tape again
to try to see if there were any, you know,
uh,
formational tells or what have you or what changes the second half.
Well, they went away from it in the second half.
but in the first half, a lot of what they did was predicated on really bad play from the bear's front.
Like whether it was they would pirate and nobody would scrape.
I know.
Yeah.
Devin Bush is in the B gap with Grady Jarrett sniffing butts.
And they snapped the ball and you got two guys in the same gap.
And Jordan Malta just walls them off and then Sigmund goes for 15 yards.
And everybody's like, oh, this is really working.
Like they can be, this could be their bread and butter.
And, you know, like, because you have two really good tackles.
and you have a bounce that can bounce,
a back that can bounce the ball.
And sometimes they run these outside zone plays to a two-man surface
and somebody runs up the field and you have that.
But when Chicago or any other team starts playing sound defense,
you don't get your layups like when 94 is basically out there freelancing.
I know.
He was running a TV.
I was watching it so much, bro.
I was like, is this a run stunt?
Like, what the fuck?
And he's just.
No, he's freelancing.
He's guessing.
wild.
Yeah.
You know what Chris Wilson used to say, you're guessing.
Yeah.
And he was guessing.
And, you know, like, again, I want to give credit where credits do.
I think there were silver linings where, you know, like, Drew Kendall looked good in the
run game.
Like, that's a good thing.
But I think, you know, like, the one thing that maybe you come out of this game and say,
oh, that was good stuff.
There's a caveat to me.
And that's that you just played a really bad, like not a really bad front, but a front that's
just kind of unsounder. They played unsound in the first half. And the other thing is,
that defense is not a good defense. And so if you're going to perform like that, and I know
Dennis Allen is a long-tenured defensive mind in the NFL, and of course he was probably
going to get the upper hand in the second half, that's why it was so important to get the lead in this
game. I just, as an aggregate, a very disappointing performance for that offense. And for Jalen
hurts, man, we laid the rules out last week and I'm going to be consistent in talking about it this
way. He doesn't have to be Joe Montana. I'd never put him in that echelon of quarterbacks that some
people clamor for every analyst to put him in. I think it's stupid as long as the Eagles win games.
You can't do the all he does is win thing and then put up that performance against that defense on the road.
right after the game blame Nick Siriani for the offense. There's a lot I want to blame Nick Siriani
for. And I don't know if he's, man, if he's taking the reins on another coordinator, if that's
what I'm to believe is like every coordinator, he just, they hire a new one and Lurie watches him
take back the playbook every fucking year. Or like last week it was, hey, this new Sean Mani. I haven't
seen Hertz look like that in a while. Yeah. You know, and some of the places he was put in the
football, I'm not used to seeing it at all. And we're taking a victory lap on how the offense looked.
And we're saying, well, there's no more Kevin Petulow.
And then after last night, all I'm hearing is, it's the Kevin Petulow offense again.
We have to at some point play some blame on the quarterback.
And I'm not saying that it's all his fault.
There's a lot that went wrong in that game.
They have the 10th worst time to pressure in the NFL.
But look at that list.
I had Nolan pull it up.
I can guarantee you there's some pretty good performing quarterbacks in that neighborhood.
It's not a fatal flaw to have a guard.
that's washed, which is essentially what's going on right now
as Cam Juergens is physically washed. Respectfully, I love the guy.
He moved to guard, guards harder.
His body's failing him.
Other teams have to deal with poor guard play.
And you have to be able to overcome that.
There are things in the passing game that I really like.
Hey, listen, that drive before the half, I thought it was awesome.
They went in the half.
They went in the half.
Jalen with the heady play, being able to snap the ball with a second to go,
sneak the ball into the end zone, beating cover one with the shot to Devante Smith. Believe me,
I'm not the guy who's taking screenshots and saying, why isn't he hitting the backside dig?
You know, it's like, fuck, guys, some people are ridiculous. Like, you throw the ball down the right
sideline to Devante Smith. There's no better connection. Yeah, he makes a great catch. Like,
come on. Great throw, great catch. Like, why are we nitpicking that? Yeah. But at the same time,
they left some money on the table. And that's undeniable. He bailed out of a couple clean pockets that
were also some muddy pockets.
He's short-armed a ball to Sequin that I think goes for like 40.
Yes, I saw that, bro.
That, yeah, yeah, yeah.
So my point is, my point is, like, listen, no one's, no one's burying the quarterback
or saying he's a bad player, but like you need to play better.
And the pick is, is bad.
And, you know, like, he almost threw him another one.
And, you know, like, and again, last week we came out of that game and there's some
people that want to kill him because he threw two bad picks, but he played really well
otherwise, and they won the fucking game.
these are the rules.
You know, if you're going to, if you're going to say, but we win, when you don't win,
there are going to be criticisms.
And we can't revert to, oh, it's just blame it on Siriani or Petula.
Patula is not even in the building.
And, you know, if Jeffrey Lurie is allowing Nick Siriani to take control of the offense,
once again, if that's what's going on behind closed doors, then Jeffrey Lurie is failing
the organization.
I just think it's more believable that maybe.
the team's not as good as it was a couple years ago and it's going to be harder for jalen to
elevate this team week in and week out which has kind of been what you saw last year and and so
again i'm but the defense was piss poor you know we we talk about the safety play it's really bad
the backer play jahad campbell's got a ways to go jahad campbell he looks like he's thinking so much
for a rookie you know and you look at him and he's like an athletic specimen he's fucking
big as shit strong fast athletic but he just doesn't play that way that way
you know and that's that's been a disappointing thing for me and then uh you know macuba i think had
had just one of his worst games uh certainly saying something but jihad's not you know and i know you don't
you know he's not a rookie but like he's not a rookie anymore he's playing like it though he's playing
like a rookie but he he's not a rookie anymore and and you know part of it was he didn't get a lot of
you know like he he didn't get a lot of action last year yeah you know like uh and you lose
people like Nicoby Dean who's got his flaws and you're like or you lose Reed blankenship and you
kind of take these guys for granted it's really hard to be as dominant as they've been defensively
and also Jalen Carter I don't think he's right physically yeah I mean I want to talk about that a little
bit like when we were out of I was out of camp eagles camp but I was so impressed with the the Eagles
defense and you look at them on paper and you're like man you got some fucking studs a huge fan of
the front seven and you know I thought the they did a really good job against
the run at times. I thought Bonn was good against the run. But then you just look at the
defensive line in the front 70. You don't feel like they're impacting the game the way they
should. And don't get me wrong. Like Case Keenom got the ball out fastest shit. I had no look it up
because I was like, dude, it feels like the ball was out. Just incredible. It was 2.4 3 seconds, Chris.
And you know how fast that is. It was third fastest in the NFL for a fucking third string quarterback.
It's hard to win. Yeah. And it was, you know, Pennex was first with 2.31 and then Mahom.
is a 2.42 so there's I mean it's hard to get pressure when the ball is out that quickly um but outside
of that man like you just don't feel like the the the D line is impacting the game the way they should
and obviously I mentioned earlier no takeaways that hurts it was a good goal line stand that was a
nice job by jalen Carter getting that tFL but like if you watch the play like jaylon just goes
up the field and they try to kick them out the tight end coming from all the way across the formation
And you're like, it's just unsound blocking, you know, from the offense.
So I think our expectation for the Eagles defensive line, their front seven is very high because of the talent that they have.
And you just want them to produce more and impact the game.
Here's the deal, man.
The Bears are, the Bears are a better football team than the Eagles right now.
There's just no way around it.
I mean, like last week, we said pump the brakes on the bears are going to be the best offensive all time.
You know, a lot of that is pushed back on some of the hyperbolic shit.
And, you know, like the fact that, hey, you know, they're human.
They're not unbeatable.
Their defense isn't great.
And every week's not going to be 60 points, but I'll tell you what, like the bears look like a better football team through three weeks.
You know, and part of that is they just don't, schematically, obviously, they're much better offensively.
Even if Sean Mannion learns on the job and they get better.
And like, I'm not saying he was Sean McVeigh last night, but I also think some of the,
hey, it's all the scheme is a little bit overblown.
Like I think they scheme some things up.
There were some open guys out there.
And, you know, like the protection, the quarterback,
the lack of the run game in the second half,
you know, and the decision making.
Let's get to the decision making because obviously that's half the game there.
I mean, if the Eagles can find a way,
now obviously they had their own goal line stand,
but the Andy Dalton thing.
God damn it, bro.
Wow.
my take on this is Jalen Hurts got knocked out of bounds hard that call can go either way I
somebody might pitchfork me for saying it but like you know like it's right at the sticks
if it were I think it's going to be called let's be called it's going to be called it's going to be called
you know I but again like I'm not going to be sitting I'm not sitting up here saying that player's
a dirty player you're not going to be you're a pussy you're not going to be saying no no um
but what I am going to say is like what I'm going to say is like when Jalen gets knocked out of the
game. First off, I understand why the people upstairs evaluated him because he laid on the
ground for five, seven seconds after he got him, which I totally understand that shit probably hurt.
Yeah. And Jalen's a tough dude and, you know, maybe he's gathering his faculties or whatever,
but he goes in the blue tent and I'm screaming at the TV like, take a time out because the next play,
you get the explosive to Sequin. Yeah. It'd almost be better if they didn't have that because they'd
spend more time in the red zone before having to punch you down to gather themselves.
a little bit. What Nick Siriani missed. And I saw Dan Lebitard on his soapbox about like Nick
Siriani can't do that in a position of power and all this stuff. And like I love Dan, but to me,
this isn't a think piece thing. I've heard you must never been in a D-line room, the things that are
said to players and we can't do anything back. It's not really about that. It's about the fact that
he's doing that instead of thinking about what the situation is. And the situation is clear to me.
And I don't know if they had like a dummy thing where they were going to,
they were going to see if they'd get him to jump and it didn't.
Because it's unforgivable to me to trot cold Andy Dalton out there in a game
where you're chasing points and say, you know, we're going to,
we're going to have him throw the ball into the end zone.
Forget like running two man schemes like out of the same formation twice to get the third down.
But like for me, use your time out.
and buy Jalen Hertz a little bit of time to pass protocol and get out there and finish the drive
because the game's different if that happens.
And the other one is the fourth down at midfield.
Like that to me, I don't even know what the explanation is.
Does anybody know what Nick Siriani said after the game?
I saw that.
It was just fucking ridiculous.
Yeah.
And then they went for it on fourth and five like whatever, not too long after that.
But I think, you know, the first one, I was thinking about that.
I watched the, you know, the broadcast copy again because I was trying to figure out exactly
what happened. And, you know, it could be wrong here, but like the Aikman and Joe Buck were talking
about how Jalen was furious on the sideline because he was waiting for the independent neurologist,
the doctor, like clear him. So I'm like, it just seems like such a, I don't know, man.
It's just so fucking frustrating. It's like you're sitting here, you get forced to go into the blue
tent and then you got to wait even longer, you know, to get cleared.
go back in because you're waiting for the doctor but i was thinking about too chris and it's like if they
would have called the time out there though they probably wouldn't have had the time out uh before the half
well you'd also go about that last drive differently i to me i'm like hey it's right in front of you
like you you get a chance to score right now right and and so i you know i i don't know man like
it was such an interesting series of events man and then like dude the fucking outside zone was
working so well on that first drive and like say kwan was gashing them and it was exactly where you're
out earlier with, you know, the linebacker sniffing ass and getting caught up and then getting
out of their gaps on the front side. It's like, just keep going to the hot hand, you know?
They try to run like a duo or whatever with Sequin. And I think Devin Bush actually shot that
pretty well. Lane didn't get off the combo block and as a TFL. But it's like, to me,
it's like the outside zone shit is working. I understand that you're on the goal line. You're a yard away,
but hindsight's 2020, man. Hindsight's 2020. This looks like a nine win team. And they already got two under their
belt, but like if they're going to play like they played last night, I'm not saying they can't win
more games than that. But I mean, come on, dude. Like we, you know, that's just not, I'm okay if you go
to Chicago and you lose a tight football game, even to Case Keenum. Like, had you lost that thing
2320? Yeah. But the team looks out of balance right now. And I'm just being as honest as I can.
And, you know, like last week, we got excited because I thought that was as good as you. You
Jalen had looked in a while.
And, you know, even saying that, you know, you get some of the crazies that are like,
what do you mean?
He looks like that all the time.
The problem with the offense has been inconsistency.
And they're not good enough defensively to overcome that this year.
I'm sorry.
And, you know, like, unless they can flip the script on this thing with the addition of one or two guys.
Well, they got Grenard back, and I honestly thought he played really well.
I like Grenard.
I love Grenard.
You know, like, but somebody's got to win.
You, you set it.
The ball's out quick.
And, you know, like, hey, the sun will rise again.
It already did over the NovaCare Center.
But the, but the issue for me is the team just looks a little out of balance.
And, you know, it would be one thing if the defense was a top five group who would say, well, this is how the Eagles do.
You know, they don't always win pretty.
But, you know, there's a thin line between winning ugly and all of a sudden going on the road and getting
blown out by third string quarterback.
Hey, listen, I love burden as a runner.
Dude, the way they got him the ball in some creative ways.
Thank you for bringing that up, especially that first 15 or whatever.
I was looking at that forever.
Dude, that was a wingtie counter, bro.
That was awesome.
That was awesome.
And then the, the shovel pass, I thought that was some good creativity too.
And you have a playmaker like that with a creative coordinator like Ben Johnson.
It's just fun to see the little wrinkles I throw in.
I actually, I mean, it was.
interesting. I was watching that shovel pass for a while. And there was like an open side pressure
from Vic and the tie down was flexed out away from it. And when you run those open side pressures
into a gap scheme, like on the backside, it's tough, man. And defensively actually stopped it
up pretty good. And then Burton just uses strength and poor tackling by the Eagles defense. And he was
able to get in. But I'm glad you highlighted that man, because I was watching that. Like, that was cool.
He's a weapon. He's such a weapon. And Khalif Raymond.
And you got to watch out when an OC brings his guy with him.
There's a reason he thinks, you know, that guy.
He's been the fucking MVP for the Bears offensively, man.
I mean, he's getting like, how many targets did he have, bro?
And here's the thing, like, Loveland.
I thought Loveland was going to have, like, the season of a lifetime.
He really hasn't gotten the ball a ton.
And, you know, part of it is due to the fact that they probably had to keep more tight ends in
in protection week two.
He just didn't get the ball much week one.
And then last night, you know, a couple big.
big moments where, you know, I think you had a Rik-Wollen penalty and that sort of thing.
And obviously he pulls coverage.
But another thing is Rik-Wullen didn't have a great day.
No.
And, you know, it's so easy.
And this is why when, like, you know, there's a reason Seattle let him walk.
He's a little handsy, Chris.
And he's a big fucking body, though, at Corner.
And I think it was disappointing to me is like you like a matchup like that against a
tight end.
Like I think he was playing man on Loveland on both those calls or at least a tight end.
And you think, yeah, he's got the length and the size to kind of, you know, play those guys and doesn't need to get grabby like that.
I want to go back real quick.
You were talking about burden and just, you know, how much of a weapon he is offensively.
Like the way they use him on motions and shifts pre-snap, too, can just cause so many issues for linebackers.
Like there was a snap I was watching where he was inserting motion to run like a deep over, you know, and then just got dropped in coverage.
little bit and he's a fucking good player man he's fun to watch but i mean that creativity and stuff
like that from the um bears offense is cool another play that nobody else besides me would get a
boner about or just think was interesting was the case keenum sneak did you see this yeah with the
pullers it's like a dumbie sneak it's like a weird dummy sneak and like i think the uh eagles defense
was trying to you know do a little well pre-snap stemming to get them to
jump and try to get an easy five and then Keenham's just unfazed and he checks into that little
i don't think i'd ever seen that before man noel said that that was some shit that kurt
warner used to do with the rams back in the day uh but it's like yeah i mean if you're it's like
their own little version of the tush push where they pulled both cards and then
keenum just follows the center right in for an easy touchdown man i mean that was he's one of
there and you know like they're he's just bends one of those coordinators one of those play colors that
I've said this before.
I think I said it after last year's game against the Eagles on Black Friday, I believe it was.
Yeah.
I said it looks like the bears play a different sport offensively than the Eagles.
And it's high time we figure out if it's the damn scheme or not.
You know, like, how many coordinators are we going through?
If it's Nick, somebody tell me, you know, like, if it's Nick, come,
clean, man. You know, because if it's Nick, he's handcuffing the offense, but that's not what I
saw. What I saw was they're just not quite there yet in the passing game. They need to shore up the
left guard position and they need to be able to run. They need a tight end too. They need to get Dallas back,
man. I mean, they got her back. But Monk can block a little bit. Jenkins, she can block a little bit.
But the problem is they just don't have a guy that's like both. Not many people have a guy that's like both.

I have a bone to pick for this.
Pick it.
Pick it.
Dude, watching the fucking game again.
And I had just had the broadcast on while I was watching the, you know, the All-22.
And I see them fucking talking about T.J. Edwards picking the call from Jalen and then
getting the interception.
I'm like, this is the most overhyped bullshit I've ever fucking seen.
You mean to tell me that it's fourth down in Soldier Field.
It's loud as hell.
Jalen is in the huddle fucking 10 yards away.
and they'd show like the perfect camera angle of like t j edwards like creep it up there like i didn't know if that was real
it was such bullshit bro i'm like what what bro you can barely hear shit on a on a third down like a key third or fourth down
you're probably right you can't read lips though and you sometimes you could like i would stand over the ball sometimes in here
yeah but you can only do that when you're you'd hear something we would hear like snap counts like
on the quick on the quick or yeah like a double or whatever
like and I'd hear that one word yeah like maybe during COVID year bro and there's no fans in the
stands or if I never played in the COVID year I remember I remember listening to snap counts yeah I mean
I get what you're saying and I agree if you're playing at like uh I don't know like I remember we
played a we played the chargers in like 2017 at that one fucking soccer field or whatever you know
I'm talking about yeah and there's like no fans there like okay a game like that yeah but not yeah but
not Monday night football soldier field fourth down bro no but sometimes the quarterback
gets louder. I'm not saying he heard the play. And that's why he picked the ball. He picked the ball off
because Jalen threw it right to him. But like, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, news flash. Adir.
That's my new thing. I is my new thing. Adir. You get that from the boys? No, I'm rolling that. Who said that? Oh, my boy said. No, no, no. No. Um,
I'm trying to use it as like a sarcasm tag on Twitter. But people still don't get it.
dude people still don't get it um people on twitter don't understand sarcasm yes it's a crazy deal uh but yeah
no no uh it's enough on the eagles and you know bears fans are going to be like you didn't talk enough
about the bears like man you kick the eagle's ass man like what else is there to say like case keanum
played his butt off and uh and ben johnson's a genius uh again so okay this is you want to hear my
you know how like people do i was on a team one time and you do lookalikes for players and stuff
just like fuck around like we put up lookalikes on the scattering report for the o line you know what i'm talking
about yeah i got a look alike for ben johnson i want to see how you're going to feel about this cowboy i
think i'm going to know this one it's okay what is it it's it's uh it's familiar when you show me i think
i'm going to know okay cowboy can you pull up the main like infected villain guy from i am legend
I think he's called like I try to look this up.
I couldn't find a good cop, but they call him like that.
I don't know, like the infected alpha or something like that.
You know the movie of Will Smith?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
You think he looks like this guy?
I think he looks like that guy, bro.
And all I can picture is this fucking infected dude, hitting the gritty for whatever the
show me, show me.
No, no, hitting the stanky leg.
He looks like a bunch of people.
Like there's a lot of people that look like Ben Johnson.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, right there.
You think he looks like that guy?
Yeah.
I thought he looks like Dennis Reynolds a little bit from it's always sunny
Dennis Reynolds I got to look him up to you know I never watched that show
really I don't think he looks like Dennis Reynolds at all are you just naming white
people yeah just generic white guys no the I am legend one though dude I really think
that's well let the people decide I don't see it but let the people decide
one thing I've learned in retirement is that I have to take care of my body
thanks to create I can do that doing squats
this year is my fourth year doing it last year I squatted 675 pounds I was devastated for months
after but I had pride and I'm going to try to do that again I'm not going to squat 675 I'm
hit 650 this year it's going to be awesome create is really helped me out with that I'm partnering at them
for squat tober I'm stoked about it I'm going to talk about it on the podcast follow along on my
Instagram if you want to see my ass squatting down real low starts on thursday October 1st and it
goes all the way through Halloween check it out I got an america's team
do you have an america's team i've an america's team and it's a lazy one but like i got a shout
out the wisconsin badgers baby come on america's team beating penn state at their place that's
something i never did that's a fucking hard place to play man really loud uh the white out was cool
and like we beat like dude i didn't think there was a snowball's chance in hell we were winning that game
so i do you get like uh you don't get an access from another one that's the gopher game chris
come on now it's the oldest uh trophy in college football
Um, respect on it.
I will put some respect on it.
And then, okay, so shout out to Wisconsin.
I wanted to shout out the, uh, Las Vegas Raiders there.
My America's team, I talked about the fact that, you know, we would spend a little bit more time on them in this podcast.
So if there's any Raiders fans, welcome to the show.
But, um, first off, watching this group, the, the thing that jumps off the screen and I talked about it with Daniel Jeremiah on Monday is Brock Bowers is legitimately unguardable.
Yeah.
it's it's it's disgusting i mean like and this is the thing that's really he's making me feel
better about my thinning airline bro don't wait we we said we had this whole thing we talked about
on monday we're gonna we're gonna pitch an ad where he uh it's like a turkish airlines yeah
yeah that but but uh brock bowers uncoverable i mean he's he's out there at at x like routing up
Kool-Aid McKinstree.
Yeah. First game back, too.
Yeah. No, I mean, and you think, oh, they're going to use him sparingly?
No, these were the splits.
26 snaps out wide, 18 in the slot, 9 in line.
He is basically, as I just said, their ex-receiver.
And what's interesting about that is this year he's up for, I mean, he could get extended.
I mean, like, I'd be asking for an extension.
And honestly, if they pay him like a tight end, it'll be the biggest travesty in the NFL
because this guy is legitimately.
And it's hard for me to decide because they're two different players.
Trey McBride and Brock Bowers,
but I do think Brock Bowers is, he's next.
And I think not taking anything away from Trey McBride,
I just think Brock Bowers is that good.
And it also unlocks Michael Mayer,
who's had a really good year.
Yeah.
You know, Kirk looks really comfortable thrown to those guys.
Kirk has quick answers, and he can also read the things out.
I mean, he's a veteran quarterback that can read the whole field and kind of take his time, get to a second, third read.
And you got Trey Tucker, you know, you put him in the slot and, you know, people are paying attention to where he's going for sure because that guy's got like rare speed.
And, you know, the thing they have to get going is a run game.
Like I watched the run tape and they face two really good front sevens like out of the three.
I mean, for sure, you know, they played the they played the charge.
And you know, while the bills were able to get some explosives on those guys, that's a tough front and then the Saints make it really hard. They just take it away with the Ellis stuff the way the backers play on first and second down. They kind of just take it off the menu. You know, Ashton Gentie, I looked up as the heavy box counts. I think Gentis run into 40% eight-man boxes on the year. Yeah, I think a lot of that is going to help that. Exactly. And a lot of the reason he's facing those heavy boxes is because just the way that their offenses design,
personnel wise like dude they're running so many like I was looking it up man it's fucking 22
personnel condensed formations condense formations and big people and and so teams are playing base
and that's part of the reason my bowers is eating you know because he's yeah teams are are matching them
in base then he's out there playing X and still fucking routing guys but I actually had an old
look this up too they led the league and 12 personnel with 54% in week three and then a
fucked on a 22 personnel also yeah word in there and like I
just like that like dude this is an adult football team man it's it's it felt like it's
watching 2005 NFL tape bro like they're running these bender leads out of 22 personnel and these like
split zones with a fucking you know like a a wide tight end in motion coming back with a full
head of steam and then it's and knocking the nine technique out of the club yeah yeah that chanahan
shit that he did with like Trent williams one time that was like I'd hate to be on the wrong end of
that but seriously
Yeah, it's it.
Kubiak is a real play caller.
And, you know, the thing I like is he stuck to the run game.
Even though they weren't chunking them off, I mean, you eventually got that explosive down in plus territory that ends up, I think, is a touchdown.
But it's like you just have to stick with it.
You know, a lot of coordinators would go away from it.
They ran the ball a bunch to the tuna like 60 yards.
That's going to change.
And you hope it's going to change.
Although I'll say this, I don't really.
think the offensive lines like a world beating group, the tackle scare me in pass pro. They're good at
what they're being asked to do. I think Colton Miller's been playing better, dude. And I fucking just
love the name DJ Glaze. So I will DJ Glaze him. Okay, but I'm just telling you,
Colton Miller had a tough one in Pass Pro against Chase Young, who, I don't know if you notice this.
You heard it here first. Chase Young got like Force X or something. You heard it hear first about Chase Young,
about 10 days ago, maybe longer ago. And now every time I open the app,
I see somebody, you know, throwing out that he's a top 10 defensive end.
He is playing like a top 10 defense event.
I love it.
I love watching him play, but I will say this.
We came into the season and said, hey, Glaze is a tackle.
You gotta worry about.
Miller had a rough one.
And so, like, when you play some of these teams
with good edges, you're gonna have to work around that part of it.
Maybe they had a bad day at the office, but I just,
that's one thing I love.
look at when I look at the Raiders and say, and this is just the offense. We'll talk more about
the defense in coming weeks and masses has been incredible. You know, and part of it is,
sorry, Chris, I want to get back to the O-line talk really quick because I do go for it.
I think they're good at what they're being asked to do. And I think they're, the way their offense is
with the big people and the fucking like smash-mouth runs that they have, the old school leads and
the fucking, like, dude, they ran a lead. I was like, fuck, I haven't seen a lead on first and 10 in like a
minute, man.
Was that out of eye?
Yeah.
I was like, sick.
Just lead.
Lead strong.
Hell yeah.
They bet it back.
Yeah.
And I think, I mean, I guess what I'm trying to say is I think that helps their
offensive line obviously.
Like when you just get fucking punched in the face over and over again as a
deal with, slow down your rush, especially for the play action stuff.
And I think it's really going to help them later in the season with their run game.
Like you were talking about their run game, not really eating yet.
I agree with you.
But like to me, this is a structure offensively.
that's hopefully like i mean it this is kind of how i you know my nose guard thoughts on it but like
it's most productive late in the season when fucking no one wants to eat you know lead strong
in December when you've got five different injuries you've been nursing all season you know what i
mean yeah and and there is an adjustment i mean i the Seattle is they were they were dealing with
a different kind of back up there and you know what i talk about kenneth walker he's obviously
turned into probably the premier back in the
the NFL right now. I mean, from a usage standpoint, I would still say, you know, like, hey,
Bajon and Gibbs are kind of in a class of their own, but like an old school, just hand him the
ball 30 times, break a million tackles, but also the bounce ability of Kenneth Walker. And you had the
one-two punch with Charbonnet. But I think Genti's a guy that like Kubiak's still figuring out.
Yeah. And, but he's a special talent and a guy you got to feed. So I look forward to seeing this
Raiders team play. And they're going to play Kansas City this week.
week. And Kansas City, I think, is going to feel like, is going to feel rested. I looked at the, how many snaps did they take this week? It wasn't a ton. And I think going on the road to New Orleans and playing that, because I was going to say this, we, I came to watch Raiders offense. And I left thinking, golly, this fucking Saints defense is fun. The front seven is really physical.
They got some guys that can play.
And Staley's done a great job there.
But the point I'm making is that's a really physical football game.
They just played in.
Mahomes and Company went to Miami, and it was a close game for a little bit.
But I think they kind of, they got through it.
And I think that's the one advantage Kansas City is going to have in this game this weekend.
They're going to feel fresher.
And so I'll see how that plays out.
But, man, I think that the Saints front, you know, you take Chris Jones out of the equation,
the Saints front's better.
And I know it's easy to say you take Chris Jones out of the equation,
but look at the way those guys play.
So they're going to have a chance to get things going this week.
I don't know if anybody has cover guys for Brock Bowers.
That's going to be true no matter who you play.
I know.
I guess, dude, I mean, you were talking about Kubiak.
I'm impressed with his ability to mold the offense for the Raiders completely to their personnel.
You know, it looks a lot different from what they were in Seattle.
So that's good.
but like my concern is i mean obviously everyone knows fucking brock bowers a stud
and the old the old bill kind of mantra of who's their guy on offense like we need to
take him away defensively yeah and then i guess my question is if they do that effectively then
what you know like who's going to be their playmaker it hasn't really been proven to be ashen
gentie so far with their run game i think tucker i think tucker's really explosive
and i think mayor's doing a good job underneath you know they they they could use
I mean, the beach kid they really like.
So, you know, it's the season's young.
I'm looking right now because I solicited a mailbag in real time.
I said, I'm starting to pot with Beau Allen right now.
Hit us with some mailbag.
Hurry, maybe not related to the birds because I think we're going to hit that pretty heavily.
Still managed to get a couple of Eagles questions.
What?
What's the Eagles question?
I'm just saying, you know, they just.
Oh, is it Nick Serriotti?
Is it Jailet Hurts?
No, no, no.
Is it Sean Mannyin?
Did the 2000?
Oh!
You got to start with, oh!
You know where I got that voice?
Who?
Richie and Cognito.
Oh, God.
That makes so much fucking sense, bro.
My dog.
Because it's just a bully, bro.
That's just a mocking bully voice.
Yeah, for sure.
And at different points, maybe you could call him a bully.
But, like, I just liked Richie and I wasn't afraid of Richie, so I liked him.
But did going up against Kelsey and practice every day help you prepare for other
centers or was it more of a detriment as Kelsey was always in the league of his own bow it's a good
question honestly it really helped me a lot when I was a young player um I was a fucking
40 pound noseguard man I was being asked the two gap and like play true two gap front side a gap
with uh which was really hard just with how mobile Kelsey is obviously um but you know
chip Kelly scheme like those centers are fucking flying out of there I don't know if you guys
remember David Mulk but he was like fucking six one two 80 like quick too
And so having to play that front side A gap on those mid zones was tough.
But it really actually helped me just kind of from a technique standpoint because I was bad against,
I wasn't bad, but I wasn't as good against, you know, outside zone and kind of two gaping
and understanding the leverage that centers are trying to take.
And Kels, I would just bullying with power when we were, you know, playing bear.
And so we would always work on these little, you know, techniques because I was bad against
quicker centers.
He was worse against bigger bodies.
So we talked a lot of football and that's actually kind of how we became buddies.
So it was very helpful for me.
But you don't, it's interesting because you play against a guy like Kelsey and you figure out how to beat him in practice and shit like that or what he's weak against.
And then you don't ever see anyone like that again, you know.
So you're just like, fuck.
But it was it was helpful from like learning all the small details of leverage and technique and how these, you know, some of the vet centers are going to use their little bag of tricks to fuck with you as a younger player.
like kelso would snap the ball and then immediately just face punch you know snap hand right back to the face and
i was like oh that's i didn't see that much in college and lo and behold i saw that from like ryan
calil when i played the panthers or whatever that year so uh definitely it was was a helpful thing
dude i just saw one more thing and that was a great answer penalty yards by team this year guess who's
number one least penalties there is
What did you just say?
The Raiders.
The Raiders.
Let's talk about the Raiders.
You ever heard of Chris Berman, but the Las Vegas Raiders have the least penalty yards.
Adults.
So far this year, just adults.
I like that.
And so, yeah, one more shout for the Eagles or the Raiders.
I got another random stat.
Highest pass block win rate among offensive.
tackles this year. Lane Johnson 97.2 is number one. That's pretty good. You said it though. DJ
Glaze has been pretty good. 96%. Give him that DJ Glaze. Come on. Give him the glaze. Give him the glaze.
I don't want to see that Colton Miller tape look like that again, though. Not at all.
I hear you. And you know who's, I mean, we didn't even talk about fucking the center for the
Raiders either. That guy's fucking good. Yeah, let's got that actually. He's kind of like Kelsey a little bit
the way he moves he's got a he's got a buzz light your head old lindenbara ever seen his head
not outside of a hell but you haven't he's wearing that triple xl redel or what dog go go read
pull that pull up you want me to search tyler lindenbaum head on my no google pc right now
just look him up dude this guy's got some dj glaze videos that guy's got a bucket bro he's got an
absolute bucket oh wow he does have a buzz light your head is whole
hilarious bro his head is huge he's got a head like one of the pit bulls you know where you just yeah
you want to go like this to it he looks like howie long's long lost son a little bit to me he doesn't
look like howie long a little bit to you looks about as much like howie long as ben johnson looks like
that zombie i guess no he does bro i hope there's at least one person that's like man beau really
nailed that i was thinking about that they probably will all right join us for the backdoor cover
show and the preview show later in the week. Y'all take care.
