I've always been someone that's kind of, that's pride of myself on being, like, prepared as possible.
Like, the way I kind of looked at it is, like, when, like, regardless of how my career turns out,
whatever, like, level of success, like, I reach or don't reach, I want to be able to look myself in the mirror and say, like, I, like, gave it my all.
That I can live with.
Like, sometimes, like, things aren't in the cards for you, but it's like, if you put your best foot forward, you don't have any regrets.
I want to ask you, how fucking sick and tired are you of hearing about arm length?
I've never really heard of it until I got, like, literally to,
The drive time, I never had a problem with it before.
But people are going to have to find something to say, so I don't really get mad at.
Meg has probably been the most similar player in terms of a receiver that I've played with
in terms of like body type, like mobility, kind of like mental makeup as well.
I would say he's the smartest receiver that I've been around.
Hello, everybody.
Welcome to the Greenlight Training Camp Tour.
I'm Bo Allen, joined by one of my favorite teammates of all time.
I say this, I said this before.
I don't know if I've said this to your face, though.
probably my favorite wide receiver I've ever played with.
I appreciate that.
You have not said that to me.
Well, I'm honored.
Your heart grew three times in size that day, C.G.
But Chris Godwin.
Yes, appreciate you, bro.
First question for you, Chris, is back when I was with the Bucks,
2018, 2019, you were known as CG12.
Yeah.
You're rocking the 14 these days.
Is there any chance CG12 comes back?
Bro, I get that question often, and I'm sorry to disappoint people.
I don't think it's going to return.
Like, as soon as Tom left, they were like,
People are like, hey, going back to 12.
Yeah.
And I think I might have looked into it one time.
And it was some egregious amount of money.
Like something, like, something, bro.
Yeah.
Because you got, you have to buy the inventory of your current number.
Oh, I didn't even know that.
Yeah.
I wasn't selling many jerseys.
No, but like, I think the way around it is, like, you got to tell them ahead of time.
So they stop making them.
But I'm like, by that point, I was already into 14.
I think 14 looks sick.
Listen, I won a Super Bowl in 14.
Yeah.
Exactly.
I didn't know if it was like one of the,
of those Jane Daniels LSU things or out of respect to Tom, you know, you weren't rocking the
12 anymore.
My respect to Tom was giving him the number, you know, but not, that's funny.
That's a funny pool.
That's a tough spot for him right now, bro.
Yeah, exactly.
Well, I think you look good in 12 and 14, man.
C.G. 14's got a good ring to it.
But, man, it's crazy.
I was out of practice just now looking around the field.
And it's only a handful of guys from, you know, when I was on the bucks over there,
I had to look it up, dude.
You're in year 10.
Crazy.
How's I feel?
It's sick.
I think when I first got in, I felt like I was like, if I can get eight years, that'll be pretty
that's a really good career.
And then I got to eight and I'm like, I'm nowhere ready to be done.
Like, I was just having too much fun.
And obviously, like, injuries impact that as well.
Like, I feel like I have so much more to give and I feel like I lost some time.
So being 10, being that year of 10, I'm like, this is what a crazy blessing.
Like, there's not many people that get to do that, especially at a high level.
in. I still got so much energy and the young guys that come in, they rejuvenate you.
Like, they listen to a bunch of strange-ass music.
People that you don't know who they're.
I'm like, yo, who is this?
And then, like, the things that they talk about, the jokes they make, I'm just like,
what year were you born in?
They're like, 0-4.
It's like, what?
Like, I was a functioning person in 0-4.
Yeah.
Well, I mean, you guys have a pretty young wide receiver room, too.
I mean, it seems like all the guys are kind of like in, like, year two, you know?
and then you got you unc holding it down.
Holding it down.
Got it.
Somebody has to.
Yeah.
But I mean,
that's the kind of the thing is,
like you kind of absorb some of their energy,
like a vampire, you know,
and then obviously impart some wisdom on them,
like on them.
Is there any kind of, you know,
I don't know,
any old head football tricks
that you've been teaching those young bucks?
No,
I think the biggest thing is really just, like,
learning how to practice.
Like, so many of them,
like they have so much talent and a lot of, like,
untapped potential,
but then, like,
you get out there and they start to move fast
then, like, you start making some mistakes.
You kind of get your own head.
Yeah.
It's like, I try to, like, help them with a lot of that stuff because I made,
I made those mistakes, you feel of me.
And, like, the information that other people gave me that, like, Mike and Dijack and
pomp and all these guys have given to me, I'm just like, I'm trying to pass it down to
them so that they can learn it quicker so they don't have to go through the same things I did.
Yeah, and it's interesting, man, because, like, you're outnumbered by those guys,
those young bucks.
There's so many of them.
There's so many of them.
I was looking around, like, the offense, all the skill positions, I feel like.
Bro, it's crazy.
It's like you and Baker and I guess Cade.
Yeah, and even Cade, I think, this is your five for him.
Yeah.
Because he got here in 22.
Yeah.
Yeah, so this would be year five for him.
Yeah, because he just signed his own a second deal.
Yeah.
So it's like, even that, like, at five years, I won a Super Bowl.
Like, so much can happen in five years.
But to your point, we have so many young skill guys.
But again, like, they got, like, enormous amounts of talent.
Yeah.
It's really cool to see.
Yeah.
I mean, that's kind of what I want to.
you about too a little bit of all those guys and I feel like it's an interesting thing where
you know some of them have similar skill sets to you and then obviously some of them are very
different that's obviously how it goes in the NFL but I mean amica mukas is the one I was
immediately thinking of where he can play outside he can play inside he's got some length like what you
have is that kind of a blessing I mean it's at some in some ways something that you're used to
you know having played with Mike and for so long but how is that kind of how do you guys
kind of manage somewhat similar roles on an offense like this I'm I mean honestly
Honestly, like, I think it's a blessing, right?
Because, like, Meg has probably been, like, the most similar player
in terms of, like, a receiver that I've played with
in terms of, like, body type, like, ability, kind of, like,
mental makeup as well.
So it's interesting.
It's almost, like, looking at, like, what I was, like, as a young guy,
but, like, his, like, his mental capacity is so much, like,
further than what mine was at that point.
You're calling him smarter than you?
Right.
Yeah, exactly.
Like, he's, like, he's definitely, I would say he's the smartest receiver that I've
been around.
Really?
Yeah.
Like he's like,
he understands football from like, like,
uh,
just the overall perspective.
Like,
he looks at it through like,
almost like a quarterback's lens.
So is that like,
I mean,
you know,
I'm a nose guy,
man.
So like,
sometimes when I talk to wide receivers and skill
position guys,
I'm always trying to figure out exactly what you're saying.
You're talking about like in zone coverages,
like knowing where to sit down or just kind of like,
yeah,
like,
it's like having an understanding of where to sit in zones,
but also like understanding what coverages there,
like,
what tells there are like,
what tells there are,
like who's supposed to be guarding like,
like covering like,
end zones, like all of those kind of things.
Like, I think he even, like, understand some, like,
D-line plays and, like, fronts and stuff.
And I'm like, I start listening to the front.
I'm like, yeah, I'm going to let those guys handle that.
You know what I'm going to.
But, yeah, like, it's helpful because, like, he's so versatile.
But we also, like, have a really versatile room.
Like, Jay Mack, like, J-Man does a lot.
Like, he can play inside and outside as well.
Like, we're starting to, like, work,
Ted and, like, in a little bit as well at a bunch of different spots.
And I think the more flexibility you have, like,
within that position,
the harder it is on a defense to be able to cover you.
Yeah, because as defense, you know, a lot of teams will try to pick the, you know,
the star guy and take him away defensively.
But if you can kind of get that pre-snap deception and stuff like that and mix it up,
it keeps defenses on their toes.
Yeah, absolutely.
I mean, I don't want to get too far into this, but Mike Evans is one of the best bucks of all
time.
You miss Mike a little bit?
I do.
Like, I think, just like his presence, like me and Mike, obviously I have played many years
together and, like, that's my dog.
So just, like, it's strange him not being here.
But, like, at the same time, like, he hasn't been here all year.
Right.
So it's, like, you kind of like, it's football.
Like, you said, man, like, you mentioned earlier, like, it's, from the time that you were here to now is a 99%, like, change in roster.
Oh, go.
So, yeah, like, that's just the nature of the beast.
So, like, I've been here through a bunch of different teammates.
And it's strange that this time around is Mike, but it's, like, it happens to all of us.
Like, there's going to be a time where, like, I'm going.
And people are about, damn, like, C.
to be here and say, yeah, like, your time's going to be, your time's going to come to.
Bo Allen used to be here.
Box legend.
But, I mean, I guess with Mike, I'm like, and Levante, you know, and stuff like that, like, do you feel like, you know, there's a little bit of a leadership void and you feel more empowered to kind of, like, step into that.
I know, you know, everyone kind of has different leadership tendencies and leads in their own way, but I'd imagine that's something that's on your mind.
Yeah, I would say, like, speaking a little bit more, like, that's not really what I, like, who I am, like, naturally, I'm a little bit more, like, reserved and kind of talk the guys on the side.
but like I do feel like a little bit more of a void
to be able to step up and like say something
a little bit more to the team because like
otherwise it's just like bake like you know what I mean
like you don't want everything he has enough on his plate
so I think a lot of us like kind of have taken turns
jumping in and like saying different things
and it's almost like we got leaders from different groups
that are saying things which is like again helpful
because sometimes like sometimes like you don't want to say something
you like bro you don't want to say something just to say something
yeah exactly like you like you wanted to be genuine
win and you wanted to come from the heart because like I wanted to be like oh like when CG says
something like it he means that shit right and like it's um it's impactful as opposed to like
there he goes again like he just like he wants to say so I'm like nah well I mean I mean that's the
thing I know from my time with you man is like you're one of those dudes who's a true pro and you lead
by example and people kind of fall in line with that because they respect you and the way you kind of
prepare and your toughness your physicality your willingness to block in the run game like
these are all the reasons why I call you one of my favorite
my favorite wide receiver I ever played with because you're a tough motherfucker man and that's
kind of what I'm curious about too is year 10 man like how do you you find yourself preparing
the same way that you always have or do you feel like you're you know have to do things a little
bit differently or are you kind of always looking for the next kind of cutting edge thing in terms
of like mental and physical preparation if you've found a little a routine of that yeah I would
say it's a little bit of all that honestly like I've always been someone that's kind of that's
pride of myself on being, like, prepared as possible.
Like, the way I kind of looked at it is, like, when, like, regardless of how my career
turns out, like, if whatever, like, level of success, like, I reach or don't reach,
I want to be able to look myself in the mirror and say, like, I, like, I, like, gave it my all.
Like, it's, like, that I can live with.
Like, sometimes, like, things aren't in the cards for you, but it's, like, if you put your best foot forward,
it's, like, you don't have any regrets.
But so, like, that's always been my approach.
But now it's, like, I have to take a little more time to get my body ready.
It's like, if you got a car up north in the winter, like, like, if you got a car up north in the
winter. Like, you better get outside. You better turn that thing on. You feel me? Like, you can't.
You can't cold started and then just go. So I spend more time doing that. Yeah. And then, like,
I'm always looking for like the next edge and like recovery. Like I'm always been big on recovery.
Let me tell you about Keynes footwear. One of our sponsors, Chris, we'll get you a pair of
Cains. I would love that. But they're great for recovery. But also with recovery, one thing I saw
outside during practice that I didn't notice during my plane is that ice box.
That ice box huge. Dude, I was walking in there. I was like, looking around going in there. That thing's
Clutch, man. It's huge. We got that. Actually, Tom's first year. We got it. Yes. And it was a
lifesaver. Like now, I'll go in on a day like today. I'm going in on special teams periods.
Yeah. I need help. You got to get that core temperature down, man. Got to drop it.
The way you sweat. Bro. It was a good day for me. Like, as hot as it was, I lost seven pounds. But I was also pounding. Like, I was drinking so much today. I'm surprised that it was only seven.
It was one of those days where I was out there. I was like, how the fuck did I play in this? Like, what? I used to lose like 20 pounds. It was. It's brutal. It's tough to put back, too. People
understand but it comes with it well that's what i was thinking i was looking at the schedule and three out
of the first four games are at home like i feel like i personally think that's a pretty big competitive
advantage absolutely you feel that way i do yeah because it's it's like we're so we're just in
obviously in new york or jersey yeah for the last couple days and we get down here and it's this
and he's like damn but it's like that's how people feel when they come to here for like for games
early in like early in september they get down and like what is this i remember we played the eagles in
2018. I just come from there.
Yes. And they're all like, what the hell? What is this? And D. Jack, first play,
yeah, 75 yards. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, that was great, man.
I got, I know you got some soft tissue where you gotta get your body right from here.
Big season coming up, but one final question for you is, how's fatherhood treating you?
Man, it's the greatest blessing of my life.
Like, it's been everything that I had hoped that it would be more. Like, ACE has been
unbelievable for us and, like, such a bright spot in our lives, like, such a big personality.
It's like, I can't wait.
Every time I'm here, I'm like, I can't wait to be home just to be with A Samara.
I saw you bring him to practice, I think last week or something like that.
Yeah.
Do you think he'll be a skill guy?
I mean, he could be a noseguard.
He could be.
But, I mean, the way he eats, he eats as if he could be a nose.
Like, he eats his breakfast, our breakfast.
He's eating like six meals a day.
Oh, bulk him up, dude.
I'm like, bro, what is this insatiable appetite?
I mean, ideally, he doesn't have to do any of this.
Like, that's why I put into hard work.
Yeah.
You know?
But we'll see.
Maybe it'll be a musician or something.
Dog, that'll be sick.
That'll be sick.
Well, cool, man.
I'll be Curtis, your time.
Happy to have you on.
First time for CG in the Green Light Pod.
So, dude, happy to sit down with you, man.
It's great to see you.
And looking forward to a huge season out of you.
Appreciate you, bro.
Yeah, thanks, man.
One thing I've learned since retiring is you've got to take care of your body.
I'm down here in Tampa Bay.
I'm sweaty.
I'm hot.
I'm feeling dehydrated.

Hello again, Bo Allen here for the Camp Series
Greenlight Pod.
Sit down here in Tampa Bay with new Tampa Bay
Bay Buccaneer Ruben Bain.
What are you doing?
How are you doing?
Thanks for joining me, man.
I said earlier,
but we actually met briefly on the red carpet of the draft.
I asked you, I think it was like fourth and four game on the line, what your go-to pass-rush move is.
You told me a double-arm swipe.
They'll feel good about that decision?
Fourth and four, game on the line.
You guys are up by six.
What's your go-to pass-rush move?
Oh, fourth and four, game on the line.
I'm going double swipe.
Double-swipe?
Like, you always get that done.
Yeah.
Man, as I see now, it depends on who I'm playing.
So, but I probably said that earlier.
But right now, yeah, I'll stick it with it.
Yeah, my bread and butter.
Bread and butter.
I was a Bull Rush guy, as I'm sure you can imagine as a nose guy,
but my ass was on the sideline on third down anyway.
But I want to ask you about your draft experience, man.
I love the clip.
You were all business going into the draft, man.
You grab that hat, you put it on and went right out on the stage.
You know, were you trying to kind of send a message with that?
No, man.
I was just wanting to get on the stage, passes up to catch Mr.
Goodell, hand, experience to experience.
I was just seeing all the fans.
my family was out there.
I was the first person I kind of went to once I got up to stage.
I was just excited.
I mean, I figured you seemed like you're all ball, man.
A lot of the clips I've seen and stuff like that.
So I like that move, you know?
Yes, sir.
I just tried to, you know, keep the main thing, the main thing,
especially, like, in season when the time is right.
But honestly, my life, I feel like that's everybody who grew up in Miami.
It's kind of like the same thing for us.
Yeah.
Well, I want to ask you about Miami a little bit, man.
You know, there's been on so many studs.
I played with a lot of guys, you know, that were hurricanes
during my career, and there's so many studs that played at Miami.
You have a favorite defensive player of all time for Miami?
All the time.
Sean Taylor, me, rest of the piece.
Yeah.
If not him, just because I played with him, Cam Kitchens.
He was a ball heart.
He's a real life ballpark.
I feel like the scheme that you guys played in Miami,
I feel you did a lot of different things.
That prepare you pretty well for a Todd Bowles,
defense? Yeah, especially
the scheme I was in the first two.
My first two years was more
like a 3-4, 3-3-3-th front.
That kind of got me in a mindset of
just with an outside backer perspective.
Just experiencing that, dropping and all that stuff.
But for me, luckily for me, I got like the best of both words.
I played in the four-down, played in three-down.
So coming into like the league and stuff,
I'm kind of like already ready and I already seen it
versus me coming in kind of blind, having my first experience with it.
I already kind of got it out of the way.
Yeah, I mean, the more familiar you have with different schemes, you know, in college, the more prepared you are.
The better, yeah.
That's kind of like college football.
Luckily, for me, I kind of had the same coaches pretty much all the way throughout.
But in college, man, you could have a new coach every year.
Yeah.
And then, like, with the transfer portal these days, so many new players coming in and out.
Yeah, it's insane.
Kind of seems like it's following, you know, the NFL model.
Yeah, so they'll have a joint practice.
Yeah.
You did a lot of rushing inside.
well too and you know Todd I played in Todd's scheme I loved it there were times where he'd
drop the nose guards and coverage and shit like that which has made me feel
athletic but you feel like that kind of helps you like you talked about having
familiarity playing outside linebacker and you know you can rush inside you know
Todd'll do that he'll find a matchup have you experienced that so far in camp
moving around a lot yeah quite a couple times but like I feel like that's kind of
all I really need to play as a like a fast
physical players just have that ability to just do what I want.
But, like, within the scheme, within the playbook,
Coach Bowes, you're going to give us the freedom to make plays.
And I feel like that's just knowing our style the game,
knowing where we should be on the line,
a particular time in the game or versus a particular opponent.
Coach Bowes, man, so you can see all the plays he got.
A thick playbook, man.
But, you know, he knows stuff.
Like the back of his hand, too.
He kind of put like he coming to union meetings, you know, all the Emmys, all the stuff,
without looking at a correction sheet or looking at any kind of playbook or anything written down.
He just got in the back of his mind.
He knows how it's supposed to be when it's supposed to be.
So he allows his players to get all the players, but allow us to play free.
It allows us to see what we like to do, give him that feedback.
And so he listens.
So I feel like that's the best opportunity you want as a player,
the best position you can be in is just knowing.
you have a coach one that's smart but also a player's coach yeah i mean he's he's a player too
yeah so that's one thing i appreciate about him is like he knows what it's like it's week three
at camp you know it's preseason you've been i mean you guys were up in in jersey with the jets
but like you know playing the bucks a lot the bucks are playing the bucks a lot a lot a get physical
yeah get physical in time i want to ask you how was the first experience i mean joint practice
that's a big thing these days i mean you almost get more reps in a joint practice than you do
in preseason live games.
You know what I mean?
So as a rookie,
what was your first experience
playing other NFL players
that weren't guys on your own team?
First, it was different.
But after that, man, it was just fun.
I realized it was football, you know,
going out and competing.
Times get a little tense, you know,
fights and stuff having break out.
But it's all in just the competition of the game
of competitive nature.
Got grown man flying around
playing the physical games
so things are going to happen.
But we all having fun.
At the same time,
it was very, very interesting
because you just get to see
different looks.
They've been seeing kind of
similar looks, so you kind of figure a guy out
in two weeks.
But jumping out there
for the next two days, it's a good
switch up, good change up.
Man, that was so physical.
I felt like I played it in the game.
It was two days of practice.
I'm telling you, man, the joint
practices are harder than the prison.
You get like 60 reps.
Yeah, you people got people out there
knowing they can't get behind
a flag so they're just doing whatever they want.
But it was still a good experience overall.
Yeah, I was watching.
I saw a couple nice rushes you had.
Yeah, man.
counter inside kind of hump on one of them and then a twist game trying to stay active trying to
stay active and just get out of the past yeah was that a kind of a surreal moment for you where you know
you know how it is you're in camp you're a rookie you're grinding in camp against your own team
and then did it feel a little bit more real playing against a different jersey color yeah it did
damn like seeing or really like click from me it was a couple times um i said like one of the first
was like going to get suggesting they was really trying to take my head off so like okay that's
That's a real life right now.
Oh, it's fucking hot.
Yeah.
It's a real thing.
I'd say, like, the second time was, like,
the preseason game was just walking in the locker room
and seeing my name on the back of the jersey.
Like, damn, man, I felt like, this is, this is reality.
So just taking advantage of the moments, not taking it for granted
and realizing, like, each time you step on the field, it's time to get money.
I always love talking to rookies, man, because I feel like you guys just have,
he's got youth, you know?
And it's fun to see, like, different guys get excited about, you know, being like,
damn, I'm really here in the NFL.
I'm just in awe.
Like, damn, it's real life, no.
Yeah, I mean, that's kind of one thing I want to talk to you by is I was a seventh-round
pick, so I felt like, you know, I got drafted in Philly, seventh-round pick.
Every day I was like, I'm one bad play away from getting cut.
I feel like I felt like I had to prove myself every single day.
Always curious talking with guys who were, you know, you're a first-round pick.
Like, obviously you're a stud, but do you feel the same kind of thing where you feel like
you have to prove yourself every day?
Yeah.
Yeah, each and every day
because it's like my high school coach,
he always would be like,
it's what have you done for me lately.
So whatever he did yesterday,
it don't matter,
whatever he did, last period.
Don't matter what he did,
last play, don't matter.
You just got to be focused on the now
and make sure you're getting the job done.
Just proving it to myself, you know,
understanding that I'm at this high level of football,
but I want to create different levels
than that level of football.
Absolutely, man.
And you got, I mean,
you got a good group of vets around you.
So Vita got drafted when I was,
I was in my six year here.
I just signed from Philly.
I was noseguard.
I was like, I'm going to be the fucking guy.
Blah, blah, blah, blah.
The draft rules around.
They draft Vita, like top ten.
I was like, oh, sick.
How's that group of vets?
How have they been treating you so far here in Tampa?
Good, man.
You know, vets going to be vets by the end time.
It's football.
It's the league.
Just having fun with it, man.
I got a group of guys that know ball,
so that makes it way easier for me.
Got a lot of good help in the inside and the interior.
then in my room in itself
I got Kwan,
Yahya,
Braz, all them guys
they're helping out
the young dogs in the room
like if it was them
and I appreciate that
because most people
you know
they could be a little salty
about things
but I don't feel that at all
no animosity
and nothing like that
and we all coming together
to get this one common goal
which is to win
Yeah, I mean everyone wants to play well
and everyone wants to play well together
everyone wants to fucking win
Yeah I felt like
if you ain't no true competitive
you don't want to
Yeah
So I want to ask you
You got anything planned in mind for a sack celebration?
I was looking at a college celebration
You weren't really doing anything too fancy, man
Yeah, nothing too fancy
I just got my little signature celebration
Actually, people said
Bainz did it in the Batman movie
I didn't even know that, I was just doing it
Oh, really? Yeah, it's like a
I got my arms out and I cross my head
That's probably I keep that up until somebody
He come up with something new that they tell me to do
I actually got that from one of my teammates in college.
Then the next thing I did, he came back up to me and told me to do the LeBron's celebration of silencer.
So that's the only time.
Like, the only two I really got.
You can just alternate.
Yeah, just keep alternate.
Or maybe, you know, get real fancy startup with something new.
I'm trying.
I got to think of something.
I don't know if you've seen some of the shit Vita's done with the rowing the boat.
He did a lawnmower one time.
It was pretty ridiculous.
I feel like the best celebration on a team probably, I say Nacho.
Yeah.
It's right on point with his name, Nacho.
You got the chip and the dip and stuff.
Yeah.
I've played with Nacher too.
I'm happy to see him come back.
Next time you see Nacho just hit him with a all of a sudden.
I got you.
I'm going to my crumse here right now.
All of a sudden, Nach.
Acting totally different.
All of a sudden.
I want to ask you, how fucking sick and tired are you of hearing about people
talk about arm length. You know, I never really heard of it until I got, like literally to the drive
time. I never had a problem with it before, so it's kind of like just crazy hearing it. But, you know,
people don't have to find something to say, so I don't really get mad at it. I think it's the
dumbest thing ever, man. Like I said, I played noseguard. It's like, there's a lot of advantages to
getting tight on guys, you know what I mean? Like playing close to their chest, like getting inside
their chest, making them feel uncomfortable and things like that. And I think that's one of the most
overblown kind of metrics of all time.
I don't get it.
Especially people like, you want to stay tight to your fight, so.
Yeah.
It's all in the days of work.
You look at some of the best edge rushers of all time.
Like Elvis Dumerville, bro, he was like 5-11.
You know what I mean?
It's like, you want to talk about arm length to a guy like that who's got double-digit
sacks multiple times his career?
Just, I think it's fucking crazy.
All right.
Final question for you is, you know, Ricky Year, man.
First round pick.
Like, I think you're obviously an incredible talent.
but what kind of like expectations
do you set for yourself
going into your rookie year?
Not statistical.
But just being consistent
coming up every day
with the same attitude
being the same guy every day.
I want last day at camp
to be my first,
I feel like my first day at camp
flying around, making plays.
Just leaving the impression
like on my team
is that I'm doing the right thing
I'm going to always do the right thing.
But honestly, not statistical
because I feel like that's going to start
you start reaching
impressions too much
so I just want to go out
play have fun.
Whatever God bless me with, that's the opportunities I have.
I think that's smart, man.
I'd always set goals for myself that were, I don't know, not quite as, like, tangible,
not, like, statistical like that.
Like, I'd be like, I really want to get better with my counter moves or something like that.
Have a goal for the day.
Yeah, exactly.
Every day, a different goal.
Point of emphasis.
I come in, like, every day, watch the film or whatever.
I feel like I need to critique.
That's the point of emphasis for tomorrow.
But, none statistical, man.
I just want to go out.
As I'm playing, I'm healthy.
I'm having fun.
It's all that matter.
Yeah.
Oh, man.
That's a good approach to it, man.
You got any games that are sticking out to you?
Here's the thing, man.
I'm trying to think about what it's like to be a rookie,
and it's been a while for me.
You know, I'm fucking retired and all that.
And it's like, everyone talks about the schedule.
I'm just wondering if you have any games on the schedule or anything like that
where maybe you got a bunch of family coming into town or.
True, this one, because it's my first one.
Kansas City Chiefs, right?
Yeah.
Just because all my family comes up is, like, my first NFL game.
Nice.
got a couple on the schedule. I'm looking out for it. But other than that, there's so many games,
I don't even know who all we play. Hey, that seems like a ways away, man. The regular season,
that might as well be a year away when you're in the dog days. Can you get through camp first?
I'm going to get through camp. Then after camp, we'll start darling all that in.
I feel you, brother. Well, cool, man. Ruben Bann again, guys.
That's up.
Sorry, we have to do one more question, a sponsored question.
Yes.
I'm an unathletic, regular person. Can you teach me a pass rush move?
It's going to be the left tackle.
I'll set for you.
You'll teach him a move?
Just fucking bulrush, my ass.
Double sweat.
I'm going to show you to double sweat.
All right, so first you want to get on the edge.
I'm going to see right now you're down the middle.
You want to work half a man.
So you'll take one step.
Take another step to go down the middle, make him sit down.
Wait, wait, wait, wait.
All right, let me get down this way.
I told you.
I'm really real pros.
You're going to just watch.
Have your inside foot up.
So it's basically a two-step move.
You take one step to get up a field,
the next step is down the middle,
and you're getting the hands out of the way.
So you're going to have your left hand on his right hand on his right hand on the left arm.
You're just going to swipe it out the way.
So maybe get your hands and just swipe it to the side.
I'm a tight puncher.
Okay, you're a tight puncher.
A tight puncher.
So just remember, headside foot up.
One, two, and swipe.
Yeah, I'm pretty good, actually.
I like him pretty good.
And then you got a best awesome.
Thank you.
I got you.
That's the hardest part.
Yes, sir.
