Starting point is 00:00:00 Do you ever save your moves or do you have trouble doing that? So I had trouble doing that at first because it's like second nature. You just want to throw it. Especially when you feel in that specific time. Like you just want to throw it and you feel like you got it. But there's times where like, you know, I'm learning off of other news here, like bucking all and learning new moves where I can kind of like work different moves and then all of a sudden I'm bringing it out.
Starting point is 00:00:20 Some of the biggest news is that David and Joe Koku signed with the Chargers. We were going to do a whole list of things we can't quit because I'm not going to be able to quit the Chargers. He's just like the same dude every day. That's what's so cool. Like, he's still that leader too. Like he knows the right, he's to say at the right moments. But like, he's still that, like, fun, loving, like, he's still the locker being fun. He, like, in hype and stuff like that on game days. So, he still the same dude out. He just plays nasty. And, like, he'll hit somebody hell of hard and, like, just giggle after him. Like, bro, you're the best, bro. Welcome to the show. Today, I have one of my favorite.
Starting point is 00:00:57 young rushers on the program. Laiatu Latu, who I'm on record. I don't get them all right, but I'm on record of loving this dude when he was at UCLA, love his game. The way I describe his rush is he's a high on-base percentage guy. You know, he's always going to be in the mix. He's going to be collapsing the pocket. He's going to be pressuring the quarterback.
Starting point is 00:01:23 He doesn't stay blocked a long time. and I think he's just a very good all-round player already in this league. He got a chance to build on an eight and a half sack season in year two. Had three picks. Three picks. Yeah, going to talk to him about the Patrick Mahomes pick as well. I was on an RPO and the fact that Mahomes got him down at the one or two yard line, which usually takes some shit in your D-line room about that.
Starting point is 00:01:51 Love Latu. It was a fun conversation. The one question, Colts fans who are here, maybe haven't been here before. I hope you stick around. The question I'll leave for Colts fans is, who is the most underrated all-time Indianapolis Colt? A lot of answers to this question. You can go in a lot of different directions.
Starting point is 00:02:15 I know who maybe isn't a household name per se at this point. You know, if you were like my age, you know who this point. person is but maybe some younger people don't know as much about this guy but bob sanders yeah he was i mean bob sanders was was was electric maybe one of the most that's what i was gonna say chris he's like dude imagine he's just a fucking missile dude who's so fun to watch man wish he had a longer career i think they got a guy well that's part of it i wish he had a career well then he'd have to play a different way you know what i'm saying i think his style of play um had a lot to do with why his career
Starting point is 00:02:53 Didn't last as long. They got a guy right now that plays for the Colts, I think is tremendously underrated. It's Grover Stewart, who will come up in the interview. There's a lot of very underrated Colts over the years. Because it's not a big, it's a big market, but if they didn't have Peyton Manning for the longest time, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:03:12 They are a smaller market. You know, they're not one of the biggest markets, so there's a lot of underrated players that have played for the Colts. I think you really enjoy that one. Stick around afterwards for a couple minutes. B-Sing with myself making and beau. From T-shots to game-winning goals and buzzer-beating baskets, make every moment unforgettable with BetMGM.
Starting point is 00:03:34 Bet-MGM gives you access to second-chance promos, odds-boost tokens, same game parlayes, and so much more. Check back every day for new promos and offers to take advantage of. And if you haven't signed up for BetMGM yet, use bonus code Greenlight, and you'll get up to a $1,500 new player offer on your first wager at MGM make it legendary all right this is a real treat we got another great pass rusher on the show today laatu latu who i got to tell you man you're one of my favorite guys
Starting point is 00:04:08 coming out and now two years in you had a real kind of breakout year last year and just a lot of fun to watch welcome to the show we've been waiting to have you on for a while yeah i appreciate you guys for having me it's pleasure yeah man well i guess you know we can get into the the colt season last year in a little bit, but I'm just so intrigued, you know, as a rusher who, you know, in your first couple years, it kind of feels like you're learning on the fly and the whole thing. Like, what was the big jump for you from year one to year two? Like, what slowed down in the game for you? What were the big jumps?
Starting point is 00:04:39 I feel like what slowed down for me was like the moment, like the ball snapped and getting my feet into the ground. I feel like that slowed up for me being able to, you know, kind of retack was more easier because in the league, you know, they're stronger, faster. And so I feel like that aspect slowed down for me as well as like, I mean, learning, you know, a new defense my first year and then a new defense the second. I mean, it was a bit of a challenge. But, I mean, I feel like over the course of like the year, everything started to stick with me a lot more. And like, you know, I didn't have to think as much.
Starting point is 00:05:10 Yeah, no question. I mean, like once you start just reacting, that's when it really starts rolling. And I also feel like, I don't know if you notice this, but the using angles, like using your angles better, like year to year. you know, cutting out something. Because in the NFL, I think the biggest difference is the fractions of time aren't in your favor. That ball is going to be out quick. You know, they're trying to keep guys like you from sacking the quarterback. So I don't know if you kind of vary your tracks.
Starting point is 00:05:38 You know, like you go speed track sometimes or like a tilt track sometimes. Like I'd notice with you, you're really good at getting into people and then getting on the edge of them. Yeah. Is that an intentional thing? What's your process rush to rush? Like, do you, do you predetermined things? Or do you just roll out and kind of feel what they're giving you? From like, so, like, I would watch, you know, film with, like, buddies, you know,
Starting point is 00:06:03 quidies, sows and, you know, kind of talk over, like, game plans and stuff like that. So I kind of have a, like, predetermined, you know, like, notion of what I, like, want to do. But, like, over the course of the, like, game, like, they smart, you know, too. So they're going to try to, you know, jump you. They're going to try to, you know, get on that angle. viewers and it's kind of just like a you know like a chess match like you know like you know just like a mind game the whole time and I feel like there's certain points in the game when I feel like you know I got the edge like I've been working it and you know I feel like then I can throw my my speedball you know
Starting point is 00:06:37 so I just kind of like it's kind of like feeling it out I feel like do you wait do you wait like do you save up hey shoot I got this I've been waiting to to sink this uh this spin or something like I've got this one big ace counter rush that I'm going to do you save that for later in the game or do you have trouble I used to have trouble saving it like I'm away till the third fourth quarter but I'm like man this is perfect like you you get to get off you see him turned you're like hey it's third and 11 I'm going to have time usually the ball's gone when you sink a sweet spin but like I think about like a tackle told me early in my career was like hey man save that move for the fourth quarter the dude was about to retire so he's like I'll give you some game do you
Starting point is 00:07:20 ever save your moves or do you have trouble doing that? So I had trouble doing that at first because it's just like it's like second nature you just want to throw especially when you feel it in that specific time like you just want to throw it and you feel like you got it but there's times where like you know I'm learning off of other dudes here like bucking all them learning new moves where I can kind of like work different moves and then all of a sudden I'm bringing it out so it'll help it helps me like save it towards the end you know. Yeah you got a great cross chop man like Talk to me about what kind of goes into, if I was a younger player trying to learn that move, like what are your targets for running the cross chop and for people at home?
Starting point is 00:08:00 You know, some people call it a chop club. It's chopping on that outside arm usually. Or you take the up and under. I've seen you do that. And then you're grabbing and turning that shoulder. But like what is the landmark for you? What do you think about as being essential in that process? I feel like whatever it is where, because some people get, have different.
Starting point is 00:08:20 different getoffs and stuff like that. But whatever it is, you gotta make sure he knows you're stepping on his feet. Like he's gotta respect, you know, like that you're coming at him. And that could be powers earlier in the game and stuff like that, but you know, he gotta feel it. So like you can't just be like a stride or it can't be a spray. It gotta be like a sit him down, step, jab,
Starting point is 00:08:41 whatever it is to make him really, you know, respect that you're there. And then, you know, once he, you know, throws his move, his outside hand, or if he tries turn it, just, reaching for it. It's not like a chop, but you're reaching and pulling it through as you're, you know, torque in your upper half. And like, Max is like, you know, one of the best guys at the upper body torque. And so, I mean, I feel like that's why I took a lot of that stuff from too. And it just helps, you know, burn the edge. So I feel like really just stepping on on that tackle's feet,
Starting point is 00:09:09 making him respect to you. Yeah, I always felt, you know, I play the guy named Robert Quinn, who had like 20 in a year. And he did about 16 of those on cross chops. And he used to step on like he used to legitimately aim for dudes inside toe. Like he'd try to step on their inside foot almost. And of course, then he had those long ass arms so he could reach around the back and then grab the nameplate, which helps you sink that move.
Starting point is 00:09:34 Dude, I need to be more conscious of that, too, is like, if he's in the pocket, we can grab it too. Yeah, dude, yeah, no question. Yeah, I definitely. No question. But you were, you talk about ball skills, man. You had a couple of picks. I was just talking about this off,
Starting point is 00:09:49 offline but bro you picked off Patrick my homes how did that feel and like you read the RPO perfectly like dude how did that feel to get the ball and then did you get ribbed in your D-line room for letting home boy get you down as the guy by everybody in the building for sure that didn't get in that's so tough but I mean shoot uh coach loo you know all the coaches they even before the season like we're doing drills hand-eyed drills hand out you know we're getting off the rock getting our hands up and I feel like you know just putting that into you know the weeks into the game plans you know drills and stuff like that you know kind of just came out to be and they got the perfect tip up and just fell in my hands man that had to be awesome it had to be awesome
Starting point is 00:10:36 but yeah and I thought you trucked my homes a little bit I almost thought you were in like I almost like when I get the ball like I used to play rugby so like there you go I kind of instantly go to like oh let me like you know kind of push him down but I be forgetting like like like in football, people can dive at your legs. It was like, damn, I wasn't even ready for that. But at least we got JT and another score. Dude, I swear to you. Yeah, but I swear when I saw you do that, I was like,
Starting point is 00:11:00 yo, that's his rugby background. Yes, I appreciate that. At least something. I was good. I was caping for you, dude. I was like, yeah, he played rugby, dude. He was a sick rugby player. So you were a really good, like this was,
Starting point is 00:11:11 I didn't know this about you reading up on your bio before doing this interview. Like, rugby was almost it for you for a little bit. like you were really trying to go that route. Yeah, I was. I mean, even because when I was at UW and like medically retired, like they couldn't really tell me what to do. So I would go out, go like play, you know, what's it called at this club team in Seattle. And I'd go run around with them.
Starting point is 00:11:36 But then that ended up having me go and try out for the Seattle Sea Wolves. And they were going to sign me onto the team. But I'm like, and I was talking with, you know, the coach, I was like, I really want to, I kind of just doing. this just for like fun like i'm not to do like it's fun for me you know it keeps my conditioning but like i want to play football again someday like they were hell of understanding so yeah what's more physical you think like i'm sure it's different physicalities dude but like football football is definitely i would say just because rugby is more like head-on you know it's more like bruises like surface
Starting point is 00:12:09 level stuff you never see too many broken whatever but like football you got bullets flying around you that you know you don't know kind of where people might be coming from but in rugby it's more you know head up um gang tack not gang tackle but like you know you're working with uh a pair somebody it's like hard to explain but i don't know it's just definitely no it's less friendly fire yeah less friendly that's exactly don't talk dog because i when i used to you know run out of the stack and try to blow something up like 10 yards down the field i'm never worried about the ball carrier i'm worried about the safety who's going to knock my teeth out like my own dude.
Starting point is 00:12:47 No, that, yeah, that ass, right? You don't got to worry about that in rugby, really. But you really do. I think being a rugby player makes you a better tackler. Oh, yeah. Like, in rugby, you just got to, like, on the fly, you got to be able to switch from defense to offense, be able to catch the ball, be able to ruck over people.
Starting point is 00:13:02 It's just like, everything. Yeah. And my boy, Milata, I remember when he got in the league, I was like, man, there's no way. Like, there's just no way. I can't believe this guy's never played football, but it translated for him, and now he's a damn all pro tackle.
Starting point is 00:13:15 There's no way I'm tackling that guy. No chance, dude. But dude, down there and wherever he's from, those dudes are, those dudes are serious. Yeah, from Australia or New Zealand, I think. Yeah, those motherfuckers are serious. Rugby dudes. Dude, high school games out there are up in like thousands of fans. I swear.
Starting point is 00:13:36 So it's like Texas high school football, kind of like that for rugby. Yeah. Man, that's incredible. I want to go back to D-Line play, man. Like one thing I notice is like when you get blocked by a tight end you kind of take that personal huh? Oh for sure for sure. I mean even since college like you know like you can't have a tight end block.
Starting point is 00:13:55 That's the first thing you always hear. But you got to play with certain freedom because I feel like if you just think about defeating the block with your head and hands, you're going to end up even if you dominate the guy getting blocked sometimes. Even if you're displacing him, you've got to have certain changeups like attack an edge every once in a while. Like, does Lou give you the freedom to do that? I mean, pretty much, yeah, especially against tight-ins. It's like just rush the tight-in. Like more times than not, he's usually not going to stay in. He's going to chip and get out. But, I mean, especially,
Starting point is 00:14:25 but if he does stay in and you're rushing the tight-in, you're still having your edge. It's not like you're getting too deep in there into the tackle and they're, you know, double-teaming and stuff. So it's like always working that edge against the tight-in because it'll put you in a better position to, you know, beat the tackle that's waiting for you. You got a really good D-line room. I know there's going to be some. changes this year you don't have quitty anymore and that sort of thing but defo and i am like a huge fan of uh grover stewart dude i don't think stewer gets enough credit i'm not saying defo doesn't deserve all the credit but stew is just stew is stew just um like on game day is he not a guy
Starting point is 00:15:01 you want to fuck with no no he's just like the same dude every day that's what's so cool and like he's still that leader too like he knows the right things to say at the right moments but like he's still that like fun loving dude he's still in the locker room being funny like getting hype and stuff like that on game days so he still just plays nasty he just plays nasty and like he'll hit somebody hell of hard and like just giggle after he'll be like bro you're the best bro what a beast and there's a but you talk about walking into a d-line room where in today's NFL like you're lucky to have vets because like a lot of these rooms are getting younger and younger they don't keep the vets around it yeah and you've got some good vets in your room and you've got some good vets in
Starting point is 00:15:41 Like how much did that help to have a room like that with guys that had experience? I mean, they're both our leaders on the team in the locker room too. So it really helps when, you know, because I feel like they just know the right things to say. Like when, you know, if somebody, you know, feeling like they struggling with something like, they'll be like, hey, like, you know, this here, this is what happens. Or like, they'll be like, are you good. So it's like, you know, there's, you never, no one's feeling like really left out. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:07 Yeah. It helps on the field. Yeah, dude. you got to have your leaders have to be able to reach out to everybody on the team you know what i'm saying and and really like put out those fires but talking about another leader like dj daniel jones like who you know last year you guys were hot man for half the season you go to more than half the season you go to i guess germany and then from there kind of like falls apart a little bit and and and you know dj gets hurt and i just wonder how hard it is and i've been there as a player but but from your
Starting point is 00:16:35 perspective where like when you have all that hope and then it kind of gets crushed in the span of a couple weeks not to say you don't think you can win anymore but things change as a team how were y'all to just rally give it y'all's best shot i mean you guys lost a couple of those games down the stretch by one score i know so close too it's so close i mean just being able to go to seattle damn near beat that team um what was that experience like for y'all as a team and how can it help you going forward Really, I feel like, because when he got hurt, like, you know, everyone was just like, oh, no. But, you know, after that game, like, you know, Coach Shane always has, you know, the right things to say. I feel like, you know, just looking forward, you know, thinking about the next game, one game at a time, one day at a time.
Starting point is 00:17:22 And even when Philip, you know, Rivers came in, he's like, that's a leader I've never, like, you know, I've never experienced, like, that type of leadership where, like, knows he's a leader. And that's his role and he does it as best as possible. And he came in just every talk he had, like, it put us in this, like, positive mindset of where, like, you know, you don't know what's going to happen. We never know what's going to happen, but we're going to give it our all. And that's usually what he said every time, like, he talked to us. And I don't know, just the way he said it would, like, start a firing, you know. And it's Philip Rivers.
Starting point is 00:17:57 It's Philip Rivers. The guy has seen more football than most people in the building, you know. and I just feel like he's got that certain clout when he walks in. I mean, this guy's like a borderline Hall of Fame quarterback. He could probably be a head coach, couldn't he? Definitely. That's the vibe I got watching him come back was like, it's like having a second coach on the field. No, it is because, I mean, it definitely is.
Starting point is 00:18:20 I mean, you see him like coaching up some of the guys, like on the sideline stuff like that during practice. It's like this guy knows way more than a lot of people on this field. Yeah. Yeah. Kind of fun watching him get out there and sling it. I know the arm, the, you know, the arm talent wasn't the same as it was in his prime. But like, I thought it was. Still, I think he was still, the Niner game too.
Starting point is 00:18:43 Like, he was doing his thing. Like, yeah. He was putting this in great positions. It's just tough, man. Yeah. No question. One of my favorite dudes on your team, Quentin Nelson, got a chance to hang out with him a couple years ago. Big Q.
Starting point is 00:18:59 What's it like kind of, you're playing with a Hall of Fame. or you're watching like a first ballot Hall of Famer every day in practice. And I remember when he was a young guy, but pretty quickly becomes the vet. I'll never forget, like, taking on a counterblock my last year. And he was like a rookie. And he's pulling, bro. And I was like, damn, that was different. Like the way he had to hop like twice.
Starting point is 00:19:24 I never have to hop to anchor. I had to hop like twice. I mean, dude, that's Hugh Nelson, bro. He's like, he's like bigger than a. fridge, bro. Exactly right. Yeah. And like when you're rushing him, it's like it's so hard to get around him, you know, you got to really, you got to really step out of your, out of your, you know, zone to get around him. He's just so huge. Yeah. Yeah. The way you practice and stuff like that, like I look up to him a lot. Like after every practice, he's getting with his old line guys
Starting point is 00:19:50 and doing something little, like something small, that's five, 10 minutes after practice. You know, always see them working stuff, asking questions. So I'm like, shoot, I want that's, you know, that's how I'm trying to strive to be. That's cool, man. I mean, what a great dude. He was a fun time to hang out with that dude, drink a couple beers. He was a piece of work. I kick it with him, too, bro. He's so funny.
Starting point is 00:20:09 What a piece of work, bro. I was out at that Bustin with the Boys' Beer Olympics. So we were teammates doing like beer pong and all that shit. Oh, that's so lit. All day, dude. We had a great time. Right. You talk about, like, leadership and that sort of thing.
Starting point is 00:20:23 I always admired Kenny Moore as a player and seemed to be a great guy. And obviously, with the news that he's going to be moving on. And obviously, Kamo. and then Zaire as well, guy I love as well. Like, killer podcast, by the way, great podcaster, great football player. When two guys like that depart, what's the sentiment in the locker room? Like, what do you guys have to do to replace that leadership? Really just, we kind of went over it today in the team meeting, kind of naming out, you know, certain dudes or the new leaders.
Starting point is 00:20:55 And we usually have people like that, like Buck Grove, Moe Alley Cox, you know, DJ is a guy. you can easily talk to AP, JT. And like one thing I love about our locker room is like everyone's like so personable. Like any like I feel like there's no one you can walk up to and like it would be hard to talk to them. Like everyone's, you know, approachable and stuff like that. And so all our leaders make it easy just to, you know, be yourself. And on top of that, it's like having respect for them too. Yeah, dude, you guys do seem like you got a really good, good group like good people.
Starting point is 00:21:26 I really like number 91. Tui Malau. Yeah. I think he's going to make a jump this year. What do you think, bro? That's my boy. And I know he's going to make a jump. Like, we always talk about it.
Starting point is 00:21:36 We're working, you know, getting in the extra minutes after practice and stuff like that. And just, you know, it's, I don't know, it's a blessing to be able to, you know, play with guys like this in the locker room and stuff like that. And get close with him too. Because, like, me and him over the, since last year, gotten really close. And I feel like, you know, that helps a lot. The other guy, the other guy I wanted to ask about was, was Ty Warren. bro uh oh yeah he seems like i mean he really does see if there's any young guy that i'm like yo that guy could end up in the hall of fame one day like you just not to overstate it but but i
Starting point is 00:22:10 play with gronk briefly and you know he's just one of those he looks like a freak show like his frame's so huge like how big is that guy when you really get around him and and uh what what makes him great as a player yeah facts i mean shoot he's he's all bald too when you know i'm like yeah Doesn't like the cameras. Like he's super quiet, but like when he's on the field, you know it's all work, all ball with him. And you see that Sundays, you know, when the ball's thrown his way, he's, he's catching the rock and he's trying to get extra yards too.
Starting point is 00:22:41 So, I mean, I feel like he's just like another guy that does, you know, everything right. And Shane uses him in a lot of creative ways, too. He's not just like an inline tight end. In fact, he's super athletic. Yeah. Germany, what was Germany? I know you guys won that game and that's kind of like the last game before it went south a little bit, but like, what did you think about playing internationally and did you enjoy the
Starting point is 00:23:04 experience? Yeah, that was my first time, like, out the country. So it was definitely an experience and just seeing what other people are like, you know, across the country and stuff like that. And they get so lit for the game. It's like, I feel like they're getting lit even though they don't know what's happening. That's the best way to be. That's the best. Yeah, that's the best. Just enjoying it. I love that. That way I was talking to, actually it was last week talking to your buddy, Swessinger from UCLA about this.
Starting point is 00:23:36 By the way, what a great dude and what a smart football player. Max, bro. He's so smart. And all he does is read, too. He's putting me on with a couple books. What books did he got you on? So he got me on this, what's it called? Bermuda, there's this Bermuda Triangle book that I was talking to him about.
Starting point is 00:23:54 And then there's a series that he got me on. I just ordered it on Amazon. We're just talking two days ago. It's a book called Red Rising, but I haven't gotten into it. And he told me you put all the guys on at the Browns to get them to read it. So I'm like, so he's like, he's running like a library club over there. Low key. But he's in like AP classes at UCLA, bro.
Starting point is 00:24:16 Like learning like bioengineering, something like what, something engineering, bro. That really, that really came through and interviewing him. I'm like, damn, this dude's like a like a fucking professor. Yeah, bro. But he was a walk-on. He was a walk-on, yeah. How's that possible when you look back at somebody like that? I don't know, honestly.
Starting point is 00:24:36 I mean, that's what I'm saying. Back then, and college at that time was so wonky, too. Yeah. And I was medically retired at that time. So I came in at UCLA, and he was one of the, he was one of the dudes I was, like, pretty cool with. I could tell, like, you know, like, he's, like, super down to earth and stuff like that. And, like, that was one of the guys I got to know. And it's just funny.
Starting point is 00:24:56 and like you see kind of both of us in the league now. Yeah. Oh, yeah. He was like, he wasn't, like, he wasn't given the opportunities that, you know, a lot of us believe that he should. Like, every fall camp he had the most picks, probably the most, like, TFLs. Well, there's always those dudes on scout team or on, like, you know, practice squad or in college, like maybe their walk-ons.
Starting point is 00:25:16 And everybody's, like, they make a ton of plays, like, in practice against your ones. Yeah. But you're like, yeah, but maybe it won't translate. And then every once in a while, there's a guy. that just keeps making those plays when you put them on the field. And that's that dude. You dubbed, though, you guys had a lot of good players, too. Dude, and that's one thing I loved about Coach Peterson, too, is like,
Starting point is 00:25:37 like, yeah, he's going to get, you know, try and get the best, like, players in. But he also recruited, like, you know, gritty players, three-star players, but, like, you know, loved ball, loved work and just wanted to grind and make it to the lead, you know. And, like, I feel like a lot of times you can see, you know, especially now, dudes just, you know, thinking about, you know, how much they can earn and stuff like that. But, I mean, at UW, it was a bunch of hard. I feel like this locker room, Heller reminds me of my time at UDub.
Starting point is 00:26:05 Just a lot of personal people that just, you know, want to work and, you know. Hell yeah, dude, there's some great players there. Puka, was McDuffie? Puka, Trent McDuffie. I came in with those guys. Puka, Trent, dude, Joe Tryon, Levi, Rique. Hell yeah, dude. There were some good players out there.
Starting point is 00:26:25 talking about guys that get kind of overlooked a little bit made me think of something I wanted to ask you about was um was I'm a big fan of bane out of Miami yeah the guy that got drafted to the bucks he you know slid a little bit but he's in middle of first round um people sleeping on him because of his arm length and I think this is quiet as kept because you play like you have like elite length you have sub 33 inch arms like I didn't have that long arms like and so you got to work with certain angles and that sort of thing. Like, I think it's totally possible if you're a good football player to overcome that. And I think sometimes it's overblown. Yeah. What do you think about, like, not having, like, I just had Grenard on. You know, John Grenard? Yeah, yeah, bro.
Starting point is 00:27:11 I didn't know this about John. He's got, like, 34-inch arms. And it makes sense watching him play. But for a guy like yourself or me who's like 33 flat or whatever, or Bain, what do you think the keys are to playing with maybe not the longest levers. Yeah. I mean, for him, I can tell he's like an explosive dude. And the fact that he can, you know,
Starting point is 00:27:35 he's able to get into dudes and be able to control them and just work edges and be able to, it's like a lot of hand moving. But I mean, as long as he's exposing, be able to work off of tackles and stuff like that and get off of blocks, I mean, I don't think he's going to have an issue. I don't think at all, you know, the ends are all, you know, de linemen need to have certain. certain, you know, stuff like that.
Starting point is 00:27:57 Well, you can also move up and down the line. You move up and down the line. Like, you've played in some reduced alignments and that sort of thing. And I also think this, like, when I talk power with guys, I'm always like, man, get that long arm going. Get that one arm going. Reduce your surface. And, like, if you get that one arm, like, that's way longer than two. Yeah, that's true.
Starting point is 00:28:16 I don't think people think about that. But, you know, it, number one, reduces your surface area because you're sideways. And number two, you're longer that way. So, I mean, there's ways around it. And when you're sticking it in there, like, it's going to be hard for them to really anchor down. It's just, you don't have to be, like, lengthy all the time. No question, bro. No question.
Starting point is 00:28:36 And you do a great job of this. I always say this. Like, there's a lot of great rushes to be had in early downs and play action. Yes. You know, the transitioning off this. You know what I'm saying? And the feel, which you have the feel of when you talked about, like, that chop club feeling his weight, the minute he anchors and leans over you then you're hitting the edge it's the same thing in play action
Starting point is 00:28:58 that type of thing yeah exactly and like just feeling how soft he is and just being able to burn it and feel it now like you're no question what's your favorite drill like when you're training in the off season like what do you love to drill shoot really it's just that that torque motion because a lot of the times I feel like really just like slow mowing through through my rush and just taking it you know a step at a time and really just because I feel like, you know, smooth is fast. So if your brain kind of is walking through the motions and I'm picking up the pace little by little and my body knows the movements, then it kind of just becomes like a natural habit for me. Yeah, our D-line coach used to say this.
Starting point is 00:29:35 I wonder if it got to you too, but slow becomes smooth, smooth becomes fast. And then, you know, there was a third part, which I forget. But we used to walk through everything. Yeah. We used to just walk through chop clubs, walk through swipes. Where do you aim when you, when you swipe a guy? outside arm. I'm trying to aim for like his elbow or like bicep area area because I feel like it's harder for them to
Starting point is 00:29:59 you know retrace and be able to come back and you know grab you and it helps you throw your move like close to him instead of like a little farther away because you know you throw it farther away he's just going to kick back again and you know try to wrap around you but if you're throwing it there it's so much harder for him to stay with you and ride you out because you're already so close to it Isn't it everything, it's kind of universal when you think about it. The way you talked about the Chop Club, Want and almost, it's like a game of chicken. You're trying to step on his toes.
Starting point is 00:30:30 You're the same thing with a swipe. But I love that you pointed that out. For any rushers listening, and I just went through this with some kid in Little League the other day. He was asking me, like, how do you swipe? I'm like, do not swipe the wrist. You swipe the wrist, you might as well be ready to do it one more time. Yeah. You know, because he can always replace that lever.
Starting point is 00:30:50 And if you get his elbow, you're turning the whole shoulder. If you get the outside of his trisive and you put it bicep, it's the same thing. I mean, like, his whole surface is going to change. So I just love that. Who is the best tackle you went against this year? It's probably my last question because you got, you got, you're at work. So I want to let you get back to work. This year, I'm trying to think.
Starting point is 00:31:15 Or so far in your career. So far, Laramie Tunsel. Tunsel. Yeah. just so big and can move and, you know, he gets, he's good at getting that, getting striking you right here and getting a hold of that and just, it's just so hard to get that off. Like, you got to be able to beat him to the spot.
Starting point is 00:31:32 Because he left, because he was in your division last year. Yeah. He's one of those guys when he leaves division. You're like, oh, I hate to see that. Hate to not have to play him twice a year anymore. I don't think I've ever seen anyone that huge, probably. Oh, he's massive. But the guy, I don't know if you got reps against Trent, though, this year.
Starting point is 00:31:49 Trent Williams, yes. I did get a couple reps. And that was, I'm super, I'm definitely honored I got to go up against him. But I got, I got a couple, a couple good reps against him, I think. That's the thing about Trent. Like, he can stonewall you because he's so fucking strong and that his arms are so long. But he's also unorthodox. So if he misses, like, you can win inside pretty good. I was just going to say, like, if you can get him speed, if you can sell him with speed up and just be able to come back under because, you know, he's, he's going to. He's going to. be super athletic to the point where he's like like oh shit like you know and just be able to come under but yeah i was super honored to play against him it's crazy that's cool man i shit i know you time's up here but i could listen i talk ball for a while with you man you really do have a full toolkit man it's fun to watch you play and keep up the great work i'm still getting better myself too bro yeah well shit man keep working dude and and good luck to you this year i appreciate you big bro it was a pleasure
Starting point is 00:32:49 you're having me on here for real of course come back on again we'll get you on again after a win or something this year i don't no okay buddy thank you chris you all know i've been on the create gummies and you know the positives i've talked about this it really helped with recovery strength cognition staying active as i get older and now creatine has a new addition the creatine electrolytes you take them together gummies of the foundation have it you build the product you trust create um it's the thing i take every day. And so now you can stack the gummies with the electrolytes. Together, the two products puts you about 8 to 10 grams of creatine day, which is again like the magic number for cognition and that sort of thing. If you're only taking three to five grams, you're kind of leaving
Starting point is 00:33:31 some of the benefits on or off the table, however you want to, however you want to put it. But you know, consistent higher daily dosage has helped me a lot. And you add the electrolytes to the equation. I think hydration is enormous. So like the way I feel late in the day, is going to be dependent upon how hydrated I am, if I got my exercise in, if I've taken my creatine gummies, if I'm sleeping, all that stuff. But on a day where maybe I don't have all those things lined up, creatine and create specifically really does help me kind of get through that occasional tough day. And the research on creatine and sleep deprivation is one of the most interesting things
Starting point is 00:34:12 that honestly I've read this year. Being prepared and being ready is just as important for you as it is for any of us. who have been through the draft process. So make sure you treat your body right with create gummies and electrolytes. The locals landline quest of the week presented by zone. Warning, this product contains nicotine. Starting point is 00:35:17 Every time. Really where he got its traction. Tanner loves that bit. Like I've never heard the bit before. Hey, are you guys in favor of turning the Colts logo sideways so that the horseshoe is also a C? No. What the word Colts starts with.
Starting point is 00:35:34 Absolutely not. Relax. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Come on, man. And it is certainly not broke. Dude, they have one of the best logos slash, you know. Agreed. You know how they get you on these reels, you know?
Starting point is 00:35:47 They pop up and you keep watching them. There are four logos that are symmetrical in the NFL. This is one of them. Oh, can you name them? I just saw it, so I have a leg up. Okay, you've seen them. Yeah. Okay, I'm going to go with the Raiders.
Starting point is 00:36:01 Hold on, chill. Do you say Raiders? Yes, I did. No, because the guy's face is all. He's got an eye patch. He's like he's the definition of asymmetry. What did you say, Bell? The Vikings. That's a good one.
Starting point is 00:36:13 Vikings. Definitely not. Titans. Do you guys know what symmetry? is. I do, but like in my head, in my head, the Viking looks, he's got the same facial expression. He's got two horns. He's got two eyes,
Starting point is 00:36:26 two ears. So like, symmetry. No, we get symmetry. All right. If you're like, folded in half, that's not symmetrical. That's the BetMGM pillow. It's not symmetrical. Calibs said Titans. That's correct. Cowboys. Correct. There's a fourth.
Starting point is 00:36:41 Okay, there's a fourth. There's a fourth. It's not the Jags, is it? It's not the Jags. Oh, got it. Found it. NFC South. You found it.
Starting point is 00:36:54 The Falcons. No, that's not. I'll bring out a whiteboard next time. The fucking saints, dude. The flirt with Lee. That was a really cool fact. And we're off. There's one NFL team's logo that is based on their state or city.
Starting point is 00:37:12 Carolina Panthers. Outline of North Carolina, South Carolina-ish is the Panthers. their head. No shit. I never put that together. Does anybody realize that other than Reed? For the for the uninitiated Charlotte, the city is basically in South Carolina. I don't see it. You got North Carolina up here and this is South Carolina. That is the dumbest shit of all time. That's the dumbest breadcrome I've ever heard. That's it. Look at the way that is ridiculous, dude. I like it. That's a good little
Starting point is 00:37:47 Easter egg. Is North Carolina rotated down like that in real life? No. No. They had to make it work somehow. It's so stupid, dude. David Tepper didn't do that. This is an OG Panthers thing.
Starting point is 00:38:02 This is Dom K. Perzera. Anyways. Yeah, it's slow news day. I guess some of the biggest news is that David and Joku signed with the Chargers. We were going to do a whole list of things we can't quit because I'm not going to be able to quit the Chargers. I told you that a couple weeks ago talking to Big Cat. I was like just working it out in my head. I started to talk about the charges and then talk myself right back into them.
Starting point is 00:38:27 At the end of the season last year, I think I said something to the degree of like, I'm not going to believe in this team until they prove that they're something other than what we see customarily in January. But I'm not going to be able to quit them because they went out and got better. And they're going to have both their tackles back and they just signed a tight end. And Mike McDaniel is. a play calling stud bona fide certified he doesn't have to be a leader of men
Starting point is 00:38:54 he can just call the plays and make just and make Justin Herbert better I'm not going to be able to quit the charges this year feel like they need one more wide receiver probably got lad McConkey and you got Quentin Johnston Trey Harris battling it out to be that
Starting point is 00:39:09 that number two receiver outside of now potentially Gadsden and the Joku well Gadsden's a legitimate a legitimate TE1. Now they've got two. You figure there'll be
Starting point is 00:39:21 a more 12. You figure they'll probably, they know that they don't have the horses outside. Yeah. Those are Charlie Kohler. And they're going to run the ball. And Kohler is one of the best
Starting point is 00:39:31 blocking tight ends in the league. Spent time in Baltimore. So I don't know. The Minter loss is as big a, you know, they gain something with McDaniel, but then they lose something with Miner, who I think there's something
Starting point is 00:39:43 about Mentor that makes me think Baltimore might be able to break through that glass ceiling this year. Like this year I'm going to exercise caution. My default take on Baltimore is always like, hey, they're going to win a fuck ton of regular season games, but they're not going to win in the playoffs. I do think that having this defensive identity for them
Starting point is 00:40:03 and possibly, you know, just a revamped culture, not that Harbaugh wasn't a great coach or anything, but sometimes things get stale. These are two teams that on different levels haven't been able to break through. You know, I'm not comparing Baltimore's postseason track record to the Chargers. They've customarily won one more game than the Chargers, at least. But anybody that says they haven't underperformed in the playoffs is not watching football
Starting point is 00:40:34 or lying to you. These are two teams that we want to see more of in January and beyond. I think these two teams could be two of the best in the AFC. Just jumping around a little bit right now. the chief still favored to win the a hs west they are just kind of crazy to me considering i mean they got they signed uh walker they got the enemy back but like the stud of their team is injured for you know he's going to be out for at least the beginning of the year i don't know how long he's going to be out he might be on one of these adrian peterson kind of timelines where he's just like how the fuck did he
Starting point is 00:41:11 get back so fast they're talking about him starting the season are they not they're talking about him being ready for OTAs. Which is wild. And so, you know, like if he's ready and he's healthy, the enemy's back. I think that's a big deal. I've talked about that at length. I also think they drafted with some intentionality. If they hit on their first two draft picks, they're going to be good. I think, I think they're going to be backward. And also, you can't, who do we, we, we interviewed Trey Smith, like a month ago. And when you think about a team like the chiefs who have customarily had a shorter runway than anybody else in the off season to fix their problems, to level up, to evolve. You give Andy Reid, you give Veach, you give this entire program, the position
Starting point is 00:41:57 coaches, the players, this much time relative to the norm for them to improve and go back to the drawing board and fix some of the problems that admired this offense over the past couple years, some of them personnel related, but some of them, I'm sure, like, scheme-related, and you don't have as much time to self-scout and that sort of thing. Andy Reid's got like a surplus of time right now. And so I think that has to be factored into how you look at the AFC West next year. All right, listen up. You got a five-year time horizon. You need to win a Super Bowl. Which team in the AFC West are you selecting? I mean, the team that's done it before. Are you sure now? I'm positive.
Starting point is 00:42:42 I'm not, this isn't like a take. This isn't like, it's not a take I'm volunteering when you're putting me on the spot. Like odds are on chargers. I like that. Odds are odds.
Starting point is 00:42:52 And then maybe the Denver Broncos. It's a great division, dude. We're over dogs. It's a great division. I'm a little worried about the Broncos. I'm worried about the Broncos, I'm worried about Bonnix's ankle. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:43:05 the ankle, but then they kind of caught lightning in a bottle a little bit where they were winning all these one-score games last year. and like, I don't, you just, or like, they just kind of squeaked out these wins and it's not really like that. I don't know. I just, I don't think they're going to do it again. The chiefs did that in 2024 and then. But the chiefs, yeah, no, and the chiefs have, you're right. Like a lot of times you see teams win a lot of close games the next year. There's a regression of the mean. But I also think that Sean Payton's a proven commodity. And I think that the defense is a real thing. And, yeah, I think the next step in, in the, you know, know the process is learning how to win in the postseason, which obviously this year they had to do it with the backup quarterback in a blizzard at home, albeit. But they lost in New England. I think if Bow Nix plays in this game, they win that game and they're in the Super Bowl. And I think they have a shot to win that Super Bowl. So I'm not, you know, I'm not saying, hey, what it could have should have. What I'm saying is like, I don't think they're fools gold. I don't. I think there's a very fun division. And the Raiders quietly could be really good. Like there is a possibility that Fernando Mendoza is.
Starting point is 00:44:11 is legit. This division's going to be the best division in football for five to ten years. Right now, the chiefs are number one in BetMGM with their plus 180 to win the division, charges right behind them at plus 185. Broncos plus 200. Raiders at plus 2,200.
Starting point is 00:44:30 How many divisions in football have four franchise quarterbacks? That's a leap of logic, but that's a hypothetical. Let's say if Fernando Mendoza turns into a, bona fide franchise quarterback and it's clear within the next 400 days or whatever you know like at this time next year we're sitting here saying yeah Mendoza's legit he was rookie of the year that sort of thing like how many divisions have four count them four franchise quarterbacks you can make
Starting point is 00:44:59 the argument for the a fc south Texans jaguars maybe the cold I just I don't think the arguments is strong C.J. Stroud they're talking about his option the Colts they have Daniel Jones but he's hurt and that was like a flash in the pan thing people are like hey you know they left danio jones for dead i think the colts are disqualifying there yeah respectfully what about the nfc north nfc north i think you you you yeah i think you vikings yeah three of four so the vikins are close you know i suppose the a fc nfc north is close but i think the afc west you have three bona fide franchise quarterbacks in my opinion i think bow nix has proven that he can be a guy that you it around the next five years and see what happens you go dac dart daniels hurts that's close close
Starting point is 00:45:52 yeah that's close but dart's got to show me something in year two yep i don't know what what else is going on here slow news cycle for football right now chris speaking of the raiders yeah did i tell you that your dad um you kind of emasculated me i your charity event. What did he do? Trump handshake. Oh, he did? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:15 So I'm like, hey, hey, hey, you know, wife, a couple friends. And then we shake hands. And then he pulls my arm into his body. And then so I was flustered and embarrassed. And so I said, hey, man, when are you going to paint that fence outside your house? Shipping a little bit. You Draymond greened him. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:35 Yeah. So then he texted me the next day. And he's like, are people really talking about my fence? Like I know. So you fucked him up. You got him go with that thing. I lost so much sleep that night. And then I didn't say this.
Starting point is 00:46:48 I was like, you know, while it's starting to show a little age. And then I actually said, nah, you're good. I just felt weird about the handshake. He was like, my right hand is like the weakest thing on my body. What are you talking about? And I said, you trumped me. You pulled me into your body. Like you pulled me off my stand.
Starting point is 00:47:07 Yeah. So then I had to say something about your fence. Pulled me over the center line. And then he said you think it should go white paint or black paint. They got white paint right now not to docks the fence. I was like, I can go black paint. They got white paint on the fence? Front and back, yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:21 Man, I don't even notice. I was just there yesterday. I think they're going to go black. Where are you on playing the song Crash into me by Dave Matthews band at dinner? Ooh, at dinner. Is it like an eyes wide shut sort of dinner? No, I think it was like legit a Spotify show. shuffle for my parents last night and uh that song ended up on fucking like during the meal and i didn't
Starting point is 00:47:49 say anything yeah but i was just sitting there like damn this is one of the horniest songs of all time like that song is incredibly horny yeah can you read the lyrics uh sure off the dome and i come in to you i mean for fuck's sake there's other there's other places too dude oh wouldn't you hike up your skirt a little more and i come into you and i come into you in a boy's dream and a In a boy's dream, dude. That song is played all the time, like it's super innocuous, and it's just about Dave Matthews clapping cheeks. Yeah, yep.
Starting point is 00:48:24 Clap and cheeks, dude. Hike up your skirt a little more and show your world to me. In a boy's dream. Yeah, I don't think that should be played at dinner. I'm the king of the castle. You're a dirty rascal. It's the horniest song of all time. Anyways
Starting point is 00:48:41 Fowl Fagrant Two Flagrant two No speaking Speaking of The other thing I wanted to talk about Preferably with some seriousness
Starting point is 00:48:55 Is the lingering I'm going to do it So we're taking off some list Because I think there's a list of like Podcasts that haven't talked about this yet I want to talk about the Rossini Vrabel thing and just I've been able to sit back
Starting point is 00:49:14 and kind of observe the aftermath of this it has carried NFL news this off season hasn't stopped some people from being like why is nobody talking about it which is my favorite thing in the world which is like you know if you're if you're trying to draw some parallel to something like usually
Starting point is 00:49:32 disingenuously you'll be like nobody's talking about this variable or Rasini thing, even though it's my entire timeline, dude. But I've been able to sit back and kind of observe a little bit. And the reason we hadn't talked about it yet is because I just don't know what you want me to offer. Like what would you have me, the football player, offer? I think the most valuable insight into the situation would probably be, and the conversation
Starting point is 00:50:05 just kind of come around to this, I've noticed. Like, as players, does this ruin the allure of Mike Vrable's leadership, but does it make it harder to play football for the Patriots? Because people are starting to talk about this. We can talk about the other thing in a second. Like, is it tampering the nature of the affair, the nature of how people are talking about it at large? But I think the question for myself and Beau would be like,
Starting point is 00:50:35 does it affect coming to work? Funny thing, Chris, is I saw, like, when this all first broke, what this has been going on for what, three, fuck, it feels like, feels like three months. Yeah, but, uh, someone was talking about,
Starting point is 00:50:49 well, Vrabel comes in, he's a high character guy and, you know, how do you look your teammate or your, your, your, your players in the eye in a team meeting and,
Starting point is 00:50:58 and, you know, say that you, you want them to be high character, high value men, and then all this is going on. The media, it's like,
Starting point is 00:51:04 players care about one thing. and that's winning football games. And the Patriots won a lot of fucking football games last year. They didn't win, you know, the one that matter. But to me, that is all that it really boils down to. There's so many fucking distractions every year. So much crazy shit that happens. If this happened during the season, I think it would be gone and it would be swept on the rug pretty quick.
Starting point is 00:51:24 It would be not swept around the rug. It would be, you know, not as much of an issue as it is now, if that makes sense. No, players are like, dude, we got to get this guy out of here. I heard Dave Canales doesn't even jack off. we need him like i'll run through a wall for dave canales dude i need a coach who's a virgin no i just listen affairs are wrong objectively they're wrong there are people that get hurt in in these situations and you know like it's kind of unimaginable to be you know a family member or you know more so the spouse in in either situation but this happens all the time
Starting point is 00:52:05 It happens all the time. And I think, like, not to excuse the action, but if you're asking, if you're asking about, like, specifically how it affects a football team, I don't think it does. Now, the part of it that does possibly affect a football team is this slow bleed nature of this thing, where it's like, there is no, there's no end necessarily to this. I don't know who's taking the pictures or who's got a compilation of, like, the meetups. but you know i saw a meme where it was like um jorab mayo had like a point and shoot camera around his neck or like you know obviously there's the it's rsini's husbands taking the picture i don't listen i don't know why there seems to be this maybe it is an aggregation of like everybody's the the breadcrumbs that the general public has picked up over the past five six years and once you
Starting point is 00:52:55 see like people have these things saved in their camera rolls and they're like well fuck now i'm not outing anything like i'll just pile on like I think that's probably what's happening, but when does that stop? I think that's the question. Like if week seven of next season, there's another thing that comes out. Like, is it a distraction? I don't think it is in a meeting room or on the practice field, but it probably is at the podium for players eventually.
Starting point is 00:53:22 Do I think that the Patriots need to move on from their head coach for having an affair? Absolutely not. Do I think that, like, I think people miss the point a lot. And again, I know it's wrong to have an affair. But I think that a lot of people are missing the point when they ask a question like, how is a coach who preaches character to his players able to stand at the front of the room and continue to lead? Well, because I think he's emphasizing things like being on time to the facility, finishing the drill, treating your teammates well, treating the staff well.
Starting point is 00:54:03 I don't think he's like, hey, pop quiz, who had sex this weekend? You know what I'm saying? And who did you have sex with? That's not the way it goes in an NFL building. You know, and to think that he's the only coach in the history of the game or even in today's game that's had an affair is probably pretty naive when you look at the statistics attached to infidelity in America in today's day and age. Marriages are hard, okay?
Starting point is 00:54:34 Even good ones are hard. When one goes south, I try not to pass too much judgment on what happens. That's between the two people. And I think most people in the NFL who play football for a living, to our point, are worried about winning football games. They're not worried about, like, hey, what is my coach doing in his free time? Now, I do think from a standpoint of like, there is no deadline for this ending. I think at some point there could be more distractions.
Starting point is 00:55:03 It's the timing and the magnitude of whatever gets on earth. Now, as far as like the tampering thing is concerned, I kind of just get the feeling that they liked having sex. I think it's so funny that people are like attributing this whole thing to, well, she just really likes information. I'm like, I don't know about that. I kind of feel like when you go undercover for like a year with the Hells Angels, after a year you get out of the Hells Angels.
Starting point is 00:55:32 She's like she's still riding a motorcycle. You know what I'm saying? Like she got in and she couldn't get out. You know what I'm saying? Like there's stories about people in the frontier who got captured by Native American tribes. And then when it was time to go, like when they were like, I don't want to get rescued. Like they, you know, like she just might like Mike Brable. if that's not too far-fetched.
Starting point is 00:55:56 And I think Mike Vrable just really might like Diana Rossini. They were having an affair allegedly for years. You think this was just about AJ Brown or some like Titans news, dude? And the other thing about this, and I know this flies in the face with a lot of Eagles fans, because I have been online and I've noticed this. And that's fine. Love y'all Eagles fans. But I don't think this rises to the level of like, hey, this is tampering and this hurt the Eagles.
Starting point is 00:56:21 you're telling me that there's no friction with AJ Brown and the quarterback or the organization. You're telling me he wants to be there, reading the tea leaves, the body language, the books on the sideline. You're telling me that like Diana Rossini's slow bleed of information, like is the straw that broke the camel's back? I don't think so.
Starting point is 00:56:42 I think this was going this way no matter what. And evidence of that is as soon as she gets fired by the athletic, and I agree with that. And I don't have an axe to grind with Diana. and russini i've been around her a lot and i really like diana i didn't know about this obviously but i like diana russini it i have no problem with her getting fired from the athletic because there is a difference between what the journalistic standards that she's being held to and and a coach and if you don't understand that difference then you're just being obtuse i you know
Starting point is 00:57:13 like i i i don't think i don't think i don't think that i don't make it i haven't heard from you on this but like you're kind of the, you're the closest thing to the fan, um, the fan perspective on this. I think it's some galaxy brain shit to say that Rusini says that it's going to take a first rounder for Julio Jones in an effort to
Starting point is 00:57:39 cool the trade market for Julio Jones so that the Titans can come in and get them for only a second rounder. Like that's, that's some serious. pillow talk. I almost don't want to get into the semantics of this stuff because it lends it legitimacy. Yeah. Yeah. I'd agree. I think your first take put superbly and eloquently is the right one. I think they just like having sex with each other allegedly. Yeah. Now,
Starting point is 00:58:09 maybe they were just playing board games. I have no proof. And it's not my job to be an investigative journalist. I just get a little bit annoyed by all the finger wagging, you know, in the media. And this is another thing. If you're like the fidelity police, then then start calling out people you see in the industry who are hooking up on the side. Just start being the police. You know, like it's, it's not our job to, to, to, to wag the finger for a living. Like, and I totally understand why some people at ESPN might be like, I don't want to talk about a former co-worker all day. You know, like, and if we start talking about every head coach is cheating, then we're going to be in this. We're be doing this a while the pat's probably long pod for us chris don't you think they feel like they're
Starting point is 00:58:57 on a clock though before say august to come out with the definitive response to this entire ordeal so that they get ahead of the week seven leak of another picture like it's got to be i don't care about the next picture at that point we've come out we've talked about it and we've buried it i don't know that you can bury it unless you get the next picture the schedule makers just need to put like the Patriots in a primetime game week one, you know, get it out of the way. That's what I, that's what I think. Oh, yeah. Dude, the craziest. Patriots week one, Don. He just got to, I mean, hey. You know who had a fucking affair, Princess Diana? There, I said it. You can find it. It's on Google. She had multiple affairs. Was she a bad person? I don't know. Like, are we just,
Starting point is 00:59:48 is we going to burn Vrable at the stake? I know Diana Rossini had some really bizarre public antics in retrospect. Princess Diana. Yes. I know. I got you. Same name. Same name.
Starting point is 01:00:04 Makes you think, though. It does. I think Rusini, though, has two ends in Diana. Yeah, that's true. You're talking about people with that name or what exactly you're saying here? Yeah, that's what I'm saying. People with that name. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:15 Got it. Yeah. You know, look up famous people that had affairs. I'm not excusing it. knows I'd probably wake up like John Bobbitt or something. Well, you know what I'm saying? It's not advisable, but I am saying like that this stuff happens and people do things that aren't perfect.
Starting point is 01:00:39 And listen, there's people, again, I bring this up all the time, there's people in our sport that have beaten women, you know, that have done terrible things, you know, that have of hurt people on the road driving. And, um, literal murders. Yeah, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's things that, and we as a society, look past selectively, depending on, you know, how useful the celebrity is to us either way. You know, this just basically becomes a litmus test for like, what acts do you have to grind? Are you a journalist that's, that's, that's, right,
Starting point is 01:01:19 maybe rightfully so, like resentful of Diana Rossini because you think she climbed the ladder by sleeping with people or that sort of thing? like okay well then you have an axe to grind if you hate the patriots if you're an eagles fan you might have an axe to grind um if someone cheated on you at some point you might have an axe to grind i don't know but like at this point what we're doing is just gawking in an affair yeah and that's kind of what it feels like social media is fine come though it's like you get these sort of details of this and like all the history and everything that's kind of coming out and it's like you're just reveling in other people's most kind of the worst moment of their lives and you're
Starting point is 01:01:58 almost like it's just fucking I don't know enough enough not just no but not to say people have to stop if people listen if another picture comes out if they're if they're like hooking up on a roller coaster a Disney world and another picture and too I'm going to be like yo let me see the picture dude I'm a consumer as well and I know diana russini and I know Mike brable like and And I like both of them. But I, you know, like, it's hard to look away. Car accident. Car accident videos sell, dude.
Starting point is 01:02:30 Like, there's a market for that sort of thing. You know, like, it's hard to look away. But just don't, like, disguise what you're doing, like, as some noble endeavor, like, calling out immorality because that's not what you do day to day. You just wait for somebody to get caught. If you were the fidelity police, you'd be walking around, like, uh, that show cheetah Cheaters? Cheaters.
Starting point is 01:02:53 Remember that show cheaters? Yeah. You know? A small part of this equation, I think, is the immediate response from the two people involved. When Vrable called it laughable. And then Rusini said, well, there are six people on this trip. You're just taking pictures omitting the four others and the four others never materialized there never showed up.
Starting point is 01:03:15 I never showed up. So it's a little, there's some of that, that's part. That's part of it. So I guess, you know, in summation, I'm fine with Rabel coaching the Patriots. I'm fine with Rossini getting axed by the athletic. And getting a new gig. And getting a new gig at some point, at some point, dude. You know, it's people make mistakes and, you know, it's up to the people employing them,
Starting point is 01:03:47 whether or not they want to continue employing them. Yeah, along those lines. Chris. I get the, I get the impression that ownership for the New England Patriots might be sympathetic towards Mike Ravel's cause in this scenario, but, you know, that's just my personal thing. It's kind of hard to throw stones. It's kind of hard to throw stones in that glass house there. But I, yeah, I just, there was a, nobody called us out for not talking about it, but I saw enough, like, these people aren't talking about it. You have to talk about it. It's like the whole, like, something awful happens haven't heard you call it awful yet it's like a big internet phenomenon
Starting point is 01:04:27 and i'm like oh want me to weigh in on the holocaust while we're at it haven't i haven't given my public comment on the holocaust like you know that's kind of what the internet's become now and maybe a poor example hey hey can i be fair for a second sure um robert crafts wife, Myra, Mira, died in 2011. He was at Orchids of Asia or whatever the fuck. No, he was single. Totally single. But people think he was morally
Starting point is 01:05:02 bankrupt for being in there getting a hand job. I mean, dude, if you're getting jerked off at a rub and tug and you're a billionaire, you're probably doing other bad things too, okay? Allegedly, not even allegedly. That's speculation, Bo. That's speculative. Yeah. Right. Sorry.
Starting point is 01:05:19 Anyways. We have higher journalistic standards here at Greenlight Podcast. There you go. We talked about the Vrabel Racini scandal. How much better is the world today as a result? Thank God we opined on it. Now we're real journalists. Oh, you don't agree with what we said.
Starting point is 01:05:39 We didn't hard enough. Like, you know, it's a big world. There's a lot of people. Relationships are complicated. But again, like, I would wake up like John Bobbitt. I'm pretty sure. Y'all don't know who that is, do you?
Starting point is 01:05:56 Sure do. You do. You guys not know about John Bobbitt? Go ahead and Google that one. I would say John Wayne, Bobbitt. I use all three of his names. Why do they do that? I almost feel like it's not good to be named John Wayne unless you're John Wayne.
Starting point is 01:06:10 Is John Wayne Gacy and John Wayne Gassie? Not good. John Wayne Bobbitt, born 1967, is known for the 1993 incident where his wife, Lorraine Bobbitt, you guys might know Lorena Bobbitt, severed his penis with a kitchen knife while he slept following years of alleged abuse, the organ was surgically reattached.
Starting point is 01:06:31 They found it. And he was later a quick... Yeah, it was on the side of the highway, by the way. Yeah. They had to put it on ice and get it back asap. Dude, he had to go like recover it from the road, dude. There's a movie like that on Netflix. Is that a dick?
Starting point is 01:06:47 Following the incident, Bobbitt appeared in the adult films. the 90s such as John Wayne Bobbitt uncut. Literally uncut, dude. Uncut. That is, that's a pun that works like five different ways. How do you sleep through? Well, I think you wake up.
Starting point is 01:07:05 I think you're sleeping when the cut starts. And then I think you wake up. I think you wake up and you're like, what's what I'm saying. How's you finish the job? I mean, roll away. Do something. I think she had a pretty good 10-yard split or something.
Starting point is 01:07:19 She was out, dude. she was she already threw that thing out the window toting that dick yeah she got in the car and was out dude she probably hit his keys he's running around the house looking for his keys was dickless looking for your keys dude you think it's bad losing your keys who just standing there with your dick in your hand she cut this she didn't just cut she cut the phone line dude he's like nine one one disconnected didn't know about that you learned something new on the thought every day baby you got a knock on the neighbor's door what's wrong it's three of the morning is everything okay okay lorraine
Starting point is 01:08:01 cut my dick off again yeah so look yeah king charles queen camilla i mean jfk obviously there's a whole generation of people that that love jfk one of the best presidents ever and all that stuff but he couldn't keep it at home so what are we going to do we're going to we're going to change we're going to he can't coach the Patriots now he can't coach a football team
Starting point is 01:08:34 he got ran the country dude I just have a feeling yeah like usually when they solve these it when they solve these they solve them by the man says hey I'm addicted to sex and then the wife's like I'm going everywhere with you we're going to make this work.
Starting point is 01:08:51 Point of clarification, Mr. Sini resigned from the athletic. Oh, resign. Well, I mean, it probably was going to be a firing eventually, wasn't it? I think her contract was up, maybe end of June. That's a tough thing to happen in a contract year. Yeah. I mean, it's just, yep. And it's like from a human element, like, I mean, life is forever changed.
Starting point is 01:09:17 It's forever different for both people. And so yeah, I kind of am the type that's like, okay, here's the flow chart for like somebody did something wrong. Like, did they murder someone? Did they really physically harm someone? Did they, is it their business more than it's my business? Well, okay, in that, in that scenario, I'm probably okay with like whatever has been levied already from a standpoint of public humiliation. There's no, there's no need for me to pile on. Like, it's just kind of pointless. Now, if a guy throws a bunch of fucking picks or something. Chopping his dick off and throwing out the window.
Starting point is 01:09:55 We're going to roast him on this show. We're going to kill him. Hey, Macon, since this was an indie show of sorts because we had the, we had the Law 2 interview. You had an NBA take that has to do with the Pacers, no? I am,
Starting point is 01:10:14 you know, the 4U toggle on your X.com. it's all Pacers takes for me, I guess because I'm best friends with the head coach, you know? Yeah. I don't know that anyone will care besides our beloved and respected Colts fans who double as Pacers fans.
Starting point is 01:10:40 You got a, hey, scared money don't make money. That's what this was. The Pacers executed a trade mid-season to get a sinner. They needed a center. Zubots, okay, from the Clippers. Yeah. They had the rights to Benedict Matherin,
Starting point is 01:10:59 who would have become a free agent at the end of this season. Right. And they gave 29 unprotected first. That went to L.A. And then this year's-Zubots, yeah. And then this year's first was protected one to four. NBA picks get real complicated. But if it was one to four, and they're calling it a really great generational draft,
Starting point is 01:11:23 but probably four stars and four stars who play big positions, right, it was going to be Indiana's pick. And Indiana, to their credit, lost more games than anybody else, say the Washington Wizards. So they had a 52% chance of getting the first, second, third, or fourth pick. The lottery ball did not come up their way. They got the fifth overall pick, pick goes to the clippers they lose their pick entirely they get one back in two thousand thirty one so everybody's frying Kevin Pritchard who used to be
Starting point is 01:11:58 famous for giving other GMs Pritch slaps by dominating them in in Trays like Laurie Roseman yeah exactly exactly he he makes a lot of moves doesn't pretty well and in this case it didn't work out but I think you're happier with a roster that's complete at least starter-wise Halliburton, Neesmith, Nimard, Seacom, and now Zubots, then I think you're happier with that than you would be with four of those guys minus Zubots and the fifth overall pick where you're going to get a guard. All right?
Starting point is 01:12:32 Yeah. Everybody's big mad because they lost out on the lottery and think, oh my gosh, what an overpay for Zubots, maybe the 10th or 12th best center in the league. But you're in a better spot. What it does is make their, it shrinks their window. It's now go for broke the next probably two years, two, three years. and it's probably rebuild mode. The alternative was you don't have a center,
Starting point is 01:12:53 but you have a top four pick. Well, the way the lottery went, you would have the number five overall pick. If things went well for you. They tried to have their cake need it too. They almost had Zubots and a top four pick. But he's kind of exonerated in my eyes because the lottery balls,
Starting point is 01:13:08 you know, they bounced the way they were going to bounce, like regardless. Right. So you could have made no trade and then you'd be sitting there. And if you try to go get Zubots now, yeah, you have the fifth. pick but you don't have mathorin right it's it's you probably end up who are the four the four are the bansa the guy from arkansas is not coming out is he yeah acuff yeah they're talking about him
Starting point is 01:13:30 five six range yeah uh debonsa boozer calab wilson carolina and darren peterson kansas so the ledges before the kansas guy ledges after the kansas guy but the ledge is like a like a little step down oh Wogler, A-Cuff, Kinks and Fleming's, these sorts of guys. It's a good draft. Can you fix tanking in basketball? They think they've done it this year. This is the last year where you get the best odds by being the worst team. Really?
Starting point is 01:14:04 So what changed? It's very complicated. Okay. Now you try to be like the fourth worst team. Got it. They've made it. Which takes a little bit more. Correct.
Starting point is 01:14:14 Really got to be thinking. Yeah. But they've made it more complicated. sometimes, losing sometimes. Yeah. And now it's, they're all, well, last year the lottery, last year tanking really went out on top with the Wiz Kids, the Jazz, those teams getting top four picks.
Starting point is 01:14:31 Bulls are in there too in the gris. But the Pacers deemed to be the big losers. And it was a 5248 shot. That's essentially a coin flip. You think DeBonce is the first pick? Is that like a foregone conclusion, like a Mendoza thing? I think he'll be the odds on favorite, but. Boy, this high school fucking film was unreal.
Starting point is 01:14:51 My kids were watching his high school film. I was like, because I don't watch college basketball until tournament time. And I remember watching it was like three-year-old tape. And I go, who the fuck is this guy? I went to Google him. Yeah, no surprise. Meek of the sport, how about your New York Knicks, though? In a little position to win a title.
Starting point is 01:15:05 I know, dude. I know. And the Knicks kind of, I hate to say this. I don't take any, like, pleasure in saying this. but like the Knicks beating Philly with three Villanova guys sweeping Philly with three Villanova guys
Starting point is 01:15:21 and then the whole the Sixers fans trying to get a chant going to Knicks fans in Wells Fargo whatever that building's called now and believe me my kids love the Sixers I root for the Sixers all the time but not when they're playing the Knicks I kind of just I kind of
Starting point is 01:15:34 shut the fuck up at that point and let Nature take its course but the Knicks are pretty good like I don't know if they can beat the Thunder probably can't be the Thunder but what are we making the thunder out to be like the 96 bowls or something they kind of are probably for the next decade you think yeah this do you think that adam silver is trying to devise ways to get the thunder to play somewhere else yeah be kind of better for the league people in oklahoma city are going to stop listening to the podcast the the thunder are effing them picks
Starting point is 01:16:12 But in a way that they're making sensual hot love to them. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, they're fucking them. Yeah. They're not less needing them. Yep. No, they're making sweet love to them. They're making the picks work.
Starting point is 01:16:26 Yeah. They're going to probably go get the 45-year-old Michigan kid and continue to be great. Which one's the 45-year-old? Yaxel. Oh, boy, he grinds my gears. Yeah. Grants my gears. All right.
Starting point is 01:16:40 Well, that's enough basketball. I mean, really, who gives a fuck? Seriously. Honestly. Wolves, though. Spurs T. Wolves. What about the wolves? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:16:49 The wolves are in the wild. They're both in the playoffs. Both of them. If you polled Americans, do you think more people would know what reporter Vrable allegedly had an affair with or who's playing in the Eastern semis currently? Oh, Rucini.
Starting point is 01:17:08 Right? Yeah. And you got NBA players talking about. about we are an elite fraternity. Cool. If elite fraternity falls in the forest, nobody's there to hear it.
Starting point is 01:17:28 What about showing people pictures of Rusini or Victor Wimbanyama? More people know who Wembe is. For sure. How about that elbow Wemby through? Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:17:42 Yeah. I can't play in this game anymore. He got ejected. I know. I was trying to think of a joke. More like, you know, whatever. It's tough. More like Victor Wimbun not going to play in this game any longer. Exactly. Exactly. Due to the elbow.
Starting point is 01:18:02 That's exactly right. That was a fucking tough elbow, dude. Look at the guy's big. All right. I don't really have anything else. some days you just don't have much and so you got to just talk about salacious shit like affairs
Starting point is 01:18:17 or like run down the AFC West you're people in the industry complaining about the affair it's feeding your families dude that's right Bo make
Starting point is 01:18:31 how's your sex drive generally pretty good you on in no no no I've careful what you're what you're waiting for, buddy. I think I'm retired.
Starting point is 01:18:45 Oh, okay. No music, no sex for you, huh? Uh, slow and out. No kitchen, no music, no sex. I need to make you a t-shirt. A little bit of all those things. Just a little bit. Dabble.
Starting point is 01:18:59 Where are we on the kitchen? It is a closing parting thought. My guy, Ivan, who was doing some painting on the cabinets. He paints the cabinets outside and leaves him in the basement overnight. Sure. Left to get them to dry faster. He left a space heater running at full blast overnight in our house. I went downstairs.
Starting point is 01:19:24 Hey, y'all. It's Kelly Clarkson with Wayfair. Ever order furniture online and wonder what if? Like, what if it doesn't hold up? That sofa was four days old. You should have ordered from Wayfair. With Wayfair, there's no what if. Just style you love and quality you can trust. Visit Wayfair.ca.
Starting point is 01:19:37 Wayfair, every style, every home. smelled like burning um long story short our family didn't die and our house did not burn down but I wasn't thrilled about that Ivan more like
Starting point is 01:19:53 I've been risking your family's life all night no he didn't say a word to anybody crazy I didn't hear it I'm sorry oh I could do it again I was a good one Chris yeah well I couldn't even get it off you know
Starting point is 01:20:06 um that sucks making you know what else sucks it's time to say goodbye and uh i feel like we we we just got started but uh it's time to say goodbye for the day and uh we'll have more later in the week
