And as always, I'm joined by Stanford. Steve, how we doing, brother?
Good, nice shirt.
Thanks, man.
You know, it's my trusty flannel.
I wear it probably three days out of the week.
It's got the shirt alone.
I was just done reading the boys.
I don't even know what that, like,
I have never put one of those on in my life.
I know.
And I actually owe you, right?
Because I lost the bet with you, Virginia Tech, Virginia.
I forgot about the terms of that.
What do I have to do now?
Shave your head.
No, that wasn't the bad.
Yeah, what?
Go back.
Check and take it.
Okay, Jay Williams.
Jay Williams.
Jay Williams hit a half court shot
And I told him if I make mine I get 10 grand
He hit his and he wants 10 grand
I said okay
You Duke guys I know your fucking Goody 2 shoes
But none of you guys know how to gamble I guess
It's uh that's not a bet
Yeah if you had lost that bet
You'd be wearing flannel though
Yeah
You know what you know what
I was gonna ask you if you wanted to make another bet
But word is you're you might be retired
Yeah I'm doing a I'm doing a Marshawn Lynch right now
I'll tell you right now.
Every gambler can attest to this.
This is, you know, this 2020's been a little different with the schedule and everything.
Like, we're in week fucking 16 of college football, Chris.
Weeks, like, that's not supposed to happen.
That just told you.
So what they're doing is they're extending the pain.
But will you have the guts to get some money in that account, get that money in the account,
get that money in the account for the most wonderful time of the season,
bowl season.
You know what?
You just did the thing.
You talked to me like Denzel at the mini fridge.
You talked me right into the mini fridge.
Okay, this is why I'm a good friend.
I'm not going to talk about the fact that I went two and one in the NFL last week
and Steve went one and two.
If I would just bet the games that I give out,
I'm going to talk about the fact that Steve was on Arizona State destroying Arizona
or like no one's business.
And he also had Rookers as a money line pick.
So great job.
So NFL week 15, three picks apiece.
Steve, why don't you go first?
All right.
Where should I start?
So much to like.
Most confident, bro.
What do you like?
There's so much to like this weekend.
There is.
I think there is.
Okay.
Let's go last week, Seattle.
Perfect get right spot, right?
lose to the Giants.
Who comes in?
The Jets.
Get right spot.
Get yourself ready to go.
We're getting ready for the playoffs.
And now they go to face Washington, who we talked about Sunday night, was as impressive
as anybody with that win at Arizona.
But this injury to, I always want to call him Cole McCoy, to Alex Smith, really worries me.
because I do not like the sound of Haskins starting a game for Washington.
So I cannot, you know, he didn't blow it last week,
what he came close to, and now he's tweeting after the game,
how much he loves to be back on the field.
And, you know, this is a guy who didn't show up for two games, okay?
And now he's running the charge of a team that is on the cusp of being that team,
if they got into the playoffs, that defense could go anywhere and win a game.
Right.
And now they're in a spot against Russell Wilson, who if there's a guy to come back,
that Washington defensive line, I'll take three in Seattle.
I think Washington has trouble scoring the ball with Askins at the helm.
I'll take Seattle.
You know, it's funny because I think it's a good time to tell you that I am giving out
the Washington football team.
And since they're getting five out.
Okay, one second.
I have a theory on this thing.
Yeah.
back and watch the tape of Washington,
Arizona this past Sunday and just
fell in, and you're just in love.
Promise you know. It's more about Russell Wilson
and my experience with him when you
can get pressure with four. And you have
the type of guys that they
have, that have speed on the edge, they can run
them down, and they have the push in the middle.
And on third down,
here's another little nugget. I mean, Seattle
hasn't been great offensively. For all
the explosiveness they have in their offense,
they have not been
like a chain moving unit.
And Washington's gotten better and better,
jelling as a defense,
especially on third down.
You know, the only thing that gives me pause here
besides the Haskins thing, which, of course,
you know, my concerns,
the reason I think Washington is going to play with them
is because of the defense.
That goes without saying.
So I'm just going to hope that Haskins
then turn the ball over a bunch.
I think they keep it close.
I think Seattle wins the game.
Carol has, his groups have been good
against Rivera's group, six and two.
But I think they need this win.
and I think this is the kind of spot
where rush struggles a little bit.
Okay. Okay, I mean, look at the, look at, okay, 16 points
to the Rams, 23 to the Eagles.
Now, that was a win, but nobody talked about it
because everybody was distracted by Carson Wentz.
They were not great offensively.
It's always a struggle there.
12 points against the Giants.
That's all within the last month.
What do all those teams do?
They make sure they rush four.
And two of those three do it really well
with talented dudes.
other group just, you know, they're well coached. So I like, I like Washington here in this
spot. Who's your second favorite? Arizona. I understand what happened last week with Philly
and Jalen Hertz and getting a win and, you know, feel good story of the week, possibly the season.
We'll see from how it goes from there. But I just like what I've seen from Arizona.
So, like, I just, to combat Jalen, obviously, you've got to have discipline, you know, all the things with Russell Wilson, you're going to see people do with Jalen Hertz.
Yeah.
I think they put them in very favorable situations with the play calling.
I think a week of seeing what they actually did on tape for Arizona.
We saw how Reddick, Reddick was just wrecking havoc last week with five sacks.
I like the personnel Arizona's D.
I know they've fallen off, but I just, this is a, this is a hype train game for me that I'm not buying.
with Philly.
They lost another guy in the secondary.
McLeod Tour is ACL.
I love the matchups Arizona has.
I love what Kyler could do.
And I know Philly's been good against the run,
but I don't put it this way.
With the,
with the.
Quarterback runs different.
You know?
Yes.
And I trust Kyler strolling way more than J-Lan.
I like Arizona too, actually.
I do.
And I believe Philly fans aren't going to like this.
But I'm not giving this out because I
I can't do it.
But just last week, I thought the Eagles kind of jumped the Saints who are not that fast to defense.
And the team speed was a lot for them at the ball care position.
Miles Sanders is legit, you know, fast as fuck.
Jalen Hertz, I think guys realize on the field, fast as fuck.
But if they don't get that 200 yards on the ground this week and look at Jalen in the second half,
there's going to be growing pains with this guy.
And certainly I like his poise.
I like the way he looks and all that.
But Arizona, especially for Philly's defense,
creates a whole new challenge that the Saints didn't.
If you look at the Eagles defense,
they're really good at teams that run into the teeth of the defense.
What I was surprised by last week is they did a good job
in the screen game and that sort of thing.
And they kept, even though Kamara had a lot more touches,
they kept them in check to where they could win the football game.
I think Kyler gets after him,
especially with those injuries in the secondary that you mentioned,
D. Hop and those guys.
So I'll give out for my second most,
confident pick. I'll give out the
I'll give out the Chiefs.
Okay. We're just talking
about the Saints. I think their
defense has
gotten a lot of righteous hype.
They've played great.
Kwan Alexander's helped them
at the second level.
I do think, though,
that they have a team speed
issue when they face Kansas City.
And most teams do. But this is
going to surprise them.
I mean, this is going to be something that they hadn't seen.
all season long.
And if you look at the Saints, man,
they've got two wins over current teams over 500.
You know who those wins are over?
The Bucks, one team.
So, you know, there's,
we're going to find out if Drew Brees doesn't play,
I like them even less.
And I doubt Drew Brees is playing or effective.
It doesn't sound like this late in the week.
I would not count.
So it's going to be Taysam Hill.
And I just don't think you can keep up, man.
You can try to play keep away,
but the way you beat the Chiefs is you keep up.
It's not keep away, it's keep up.
And that's why I think a team like Tennessee,
we're talking about this on another show.
Tennessee is actually a funny, good matchup
because they can play keep away and they can keep up.
Yes, yes.
That's a great call.
And it's not even about like,
because Tennessee, they're not going to stop anybody on defense right now,
but it's just about keeping up.
So, you know, you bring that physical defense into town.
All your good players are physical.
Cam Jordan, DeMario Davis.
You know, on the back end,
you're not a team full of burners.
I do think the Chiefs get after them.
And it's sitting right now at a field goal.
So get it before it gets a three and a half or whatever,
or however that line moves.
I don't know.
But get it at a field goal.
Who do you like third?
I'm going to go with the over in the Jaguars and Ravens game
because I just feel like it's a free for all.
Cleveland,
obviously off the wild Monday night game.
and Jacksonville just going to be out there slinging it.
It's over, I think, around 47.
But that's a fun game.
I think Baltimore will do whatever they want offensively.
And Jacksonville will just be throwing it around to those awesome receivers they have.
So I like the over there.
I love the over there.
That's a great call.
That's a great call, especially because Minchew's back and Minchew's numbers are way better than the other guys they had out there.
So they're going to pick up a little.
I mean, the Ravens might score 31, 35 points easy on these.
guys. I mean, his bottom three rushing defense.
Lamar and those guys are going to
keep the clock moving, but I still
think they hit the over. I'll go three.
Gosh, what was it?
Oh, yeah, a rookie quarterback
to be Bill Belichick. What could
go wrong? Okay, you look
at those numbers. I know this is
an old adage, and the same thing
about Bill versus former assistants.
You look at those numbers through 17.
They were much different than
they are the last few years.
The assistants are catching up a little bit.
And I think it's about time with the Patriots that we look at this is like, yes, he's still the greatest coach of all time.
But this is a different football team that we're framing these statistics around and these trends around.
It is.
So it's a different football team.
Last week, Will Brinson made a great point.
I caught it on Twitter.
And shout out to Will.
He was like, before the Pats Rams game, he goes, if this team wasn't running out there with that helmet and that head coach, what is the line?
What is the line of this football game?
I mean, would it be 10?
would it be 13? It's just
you know, we got to stop
and I respect the Pats
and they're going to scratch and claw and I think it'll be a tight
ball game, but we got to stop giving them
legacy money here.
And I'm going to go with Miami. I know that you
don't love it because of Gaseki.
Yes. Yeah,
that's a huge out for me.
But you're right,
man. I mean, our guy Rassillo's
been on it for
the whole season, just talking,
looking at that Patriots roster.
and just being real about it.
And not just saying, oh, Belichick will figure it out, like, at some point,
Belichick needs some players on the field.
Yeah.
And we all know, you know, the issues of drafting wide receivers and cat pits and all this.
But I, I, I do, it does scare me extra time, you know, the extra days arrest.
I know they're flying back after two, two games in, in L.A.
but it's, you know, I've said on it, I'm, I'm rooting for the dolphins.
You know, they're an awesome watch to me.
And, you know, I'm trying to watch them every week.
But it's this is it.
If you're a playoff team, you go handle this game.
You go handle this game, Miami.
So it's a big spot for them.
And it's a big spot for Tua, man.
You know, he played well enough, I thought, against the Chiefs,
a couple of, you know, costly turnovers.
But that's why, you know, rookies do that.
Yeah.
You know you're going to get that with a rookie quarterback.
So really interesting.
I feel like, you know, New England couldn't do it because they fell behind so fast against Los Angeles.
But when they have won games, they have had a little recipe of just let's slow things down.
Let's get Camden the gun.
Let's run it.
Shorten the game.
Trust our secondary.
And, you know, our defense to make plays in a tight game and hope that what Belichick has done so many people take, just wait it out, wait it out.
And the other team will, we'll fuck it up.
No.
You know, how many games?
How many games did he won like that in his career?
Just stubbornly boring.
And, you know, like, hey, we're here to win.
We're not here to impress anybody.
I suspect they'll be doing the same thing Sunday.
Fascinating games to me.
It is fascinating.
It's going to be probably that in the Chiefs game is as fascinating as it gets Sunday.
And then on top of all that, the dolphins are playing with their backs against the wall a little bit.
I mean, because they're tied with the Ravens and they have the tiebreak at this point.
But you look at their last three games as well,
different to the ravens the ravens i think the combined strength of schedule for them the rest of the way is
is uh 218 so you look at who the dolphins have there's a couple good time who did the math today
ah man i read you know i read i retain do you have a calculator next to it when you read or you just read
the numbers and write them down i read that little nugget and i just spit it right back out so you the
betters can have it as well uh but it's not really relevant this sunday the only thing that is relevant is the dolphins
have got to win because there's no breathing room with the way Baltimore played Monday.
Ravens got Jags, Giants, Bangles.
That's what the Ravens on the season one.
Exactly, exactly.
Now, maybe Joe Judge could give them a fight,
but I wouldn't bank on them losing a game the rest of the way.
I mean, that's what they do.
They beat up on bad teams.
Okay, so let's go college game of the week.
What you got?
So much to choose from, Chris.
Oh, God.
I'm going to be all over the board.
Oh, you're retired.
All right.
I'm going to give you a theory here.
Yeah.
Okay.
I don't know if you caught any of the rankings or anything that's going on, but
people are saying USC should be ranked higher because they're undefeated in
USC.
All right.
And now everybody's propping up a Pac-12 team.
Obviously, they started to season late.
And they, it was a foregone conclusion.
I think that the Pac-12 is going to be left out of the playoff because they weren't
going to be able to prove themselves, which is just weird because they wouldn't say that
about any other conference if they started late.
Right.
But USC's been getting a ton of love.
They've come back.
They have elite talent at the wide receiver position.
Their quarterback's really good.
It's only a true sophomore, Keaton Slovis.
And if you remember last year, Utah got to this point where they were in the
Pac-12 title game.
And if they won, they were getting in the playoff.
And it feels like to me, every time a Pac-12 team gets on this stage where they're getting
love and they're going to do something, you know, that's really good, they just
peed on their leg. Last year, Utah gets to that spot. They peed on their leg. They play their worst
game of the year. They lose to Oregon. They lose a shot in the playoff. And then Oregon, obviously,
with the wind goes to the Rose Bowl. I worry that USC is getting so propped up this week that
they beat on their leg Friday night in the Pact 12 title game against Oregon. So we're going to take
Oregon. Wow. Hey, that's Lovice kid. I don't watch a lot of Pact 12 football. But the kid,
the few times I've seen him play, I like him. And my way off is he. He
like a prospect prospect?
Yeah, he's, he was only a three star and then he beat out, I should say he beat out.
He took over for J.T. Daniels, when J.T. Daniels got hurt. He's now the quarterback at Georgia,
who was a five star. And then Slovis was so good that Daniels, I think, was like, I'm out of
here because I'm not, I'm not passing this kid out. But they also have some really, really good
wide receivers, man. They have like three pros in their three receivers. And they're three wide set.
those three guys are three pros.
All right, well, I'll take that one of the bank.
Let's do joint bank account.
We need some upsets this week.
Last week did we hit on anything is the question.
Yeah, Ruckers.
Ruckers.
Yeah, you're right.
I'll give you another one.
Why the hell is Nebraska giving points to Ruckers?
Give me Ruckers.
Okay.
Money line.
You got a, you got a, is that what you, is that where you're on this week?
Ruckers, Moneyline plus 200.
Cool, cool, cool, cool, cool.
I'm going to go with
Golly
There's a couple
Dogs here that I don't love
Give me the New York football
Giants money line
Freddy Kitchens
Revenge game
Off that hangover
Cleveland just gave up
47 points
And they're running around
Like they won the Super Bowl this week
Because they played the Ravens close
Be careful now
Yeah it feels like
When the Raiders lost close to the Chiefs
On that Sunday night game doesn't it?
Yep
And what happened after that?
Whop it.
Yeah, and I lost money on it, so I'm going to take the Giants this week.
Money line, baby.
As coaches always say, Chris, you remember the loss is born in the wins.
Yeah, exactly, exactly.
Well, they're easy to remember lately.
Okay, so now here comes Mushmeakin's pick.
This one should be good.
Thank you, fellas.
My pick is America's team, the Dallas Cowboys.
Typically, I like to zig when others are zagging,
team coming off a loss.
This time, not so much.
I'm going with the red-hot Dallas Cowboys
coming off a Sinci win, giving three points at home to the San Francisco 49ers,
the listless niners who have no hope.
Watch the Cowboys mess around, win out, be 7 to 9, be in the mix,
in the NFC Beast, tons of weapons, Cooper, Gallup, Lamb, Zique at 75%,
Dallas plus three, Macon, Money.
Take that one to the bank as well.
Macon had a good week last week.
above 500 on the Sunday slate.
So maybe he's, maybe he's turning the corner.
Hey, that will do it.
Check out the regular Greenlight
podcast. It's also very good.
Stanford Steve is on there
on Sunday night. Is this,
this is Greenlight Light?
This is Greenlight gambling.
So it's a whole...
Oh, okay. All right.
Yeah. So, and comment,
subscribe, all that good stuff.
Be safe and have a great weekend.
Everybody, Steve's got to go pick his kids up from school.
He does it all. He's not just,
he's not just the pretty face on TV.
and the podcast ringer.
He is also a terrific dad.
Go be a dad, dude.
See you.
Bye.
Appreciate you.
Bye, bro.
