Matt Canada, let's talk about him, who did not celebrate, as I pointed out.
But others pointed out.
Some people quietly celebrate.
Some people quietly celebrate.
Some people go to the two-point conversion.
You know, like some people just stare at the TV.
Some people do go straight to the two-points.
But usually these OCs are like, yeah.
A little bit.
And I was like, my conspiracy brain was like, well, maybe they fucking, during the first quarter,
I was like, maybe they could do a thing.
You know how they go quarterback change and they go to commercial and everybody like cheers or booze.
and you know, they show the guy warming up.
I would love it if they do like real-time
coordinator changes.
Like the guy has to get up, get him out of his chair.
Yeah.
Of course, coaches would be like,
that would be really demoralizing.
I'm like, welcome to our world.
Yeah, yeah, thank you.
You get up the whole thing.
Then they go.
Nance is like, let's go to commercial.
You're now a quality control assistant.
Yeah, dude.
Grab his tablet.
Go get the bags.
Yeah.
Welcome to the Green Light Podcast.
Cowboy Day.
NFL Week 5 reactions.
A lot of topics to cover today.
The 49ers blew out the Cowboys.
Does that make them the best team in the NFL?
The Eagles were standing a very fiery Rams squad,
a surprising fiery ram squad.
The Jags, Bill's in the early game,
Trevor and Josh, what a matchup between the two,
and a little bit of a grudge match in Denver.
Jets Broncos, Nathaniel Hackett, Revenge game.
Everyone was talking about Hackett.
Got to get the game ball to hack it.
Nathaniel Hackett.
Sean Payton couldn't stop them.
Those NFL topics and more we talk our Millerlight moments.
We give out our America's teams.
A great show today with Chris Kyle and Nate.
Y'all enjoy.
We will be back Wednesday with a special guest, maybe a couple.
Welcome to the live show.
Kyle's giving me shit about my vest.
Got a lot of personalities at this.
What you don't see.
What you can't see or hear is the fact that it's two tones.
It's got like.
It's three tones.
It's three.
There's a lot going on there.
It's a nice vest.
And it's a perfect time of the year.
You got a fucking Tony Romo hat on, I just realized.
What do you mean?
It's Logo list.
Where do you get those?
You get this from a great hat company that I won't name.
Well, melon hats.
They make great hats for people with big heads.
All right, good.
Oh, really?
I got to check that out.
Oh, and Nate has a Mad Dog 2020 shirt on.
Oh, that hurts me.
I got that dog in me.
Yeah.
Is that the peaches and cream?
That's the peaches and cream for all the mad dog drinkers out there.
I got this off of an ad on Instagram, and I bought.
bought this for you. You have to check this out.
I got a CD. Would it mix
CD that I think. Codine
and Rhinestone. That T-shirt came with a
mixtape. Yes. I love the marketing.
All right. Good. So we got the fashion updates.
I'm in. Guys, it's best season
out here. There's a chill in the air.
Or waffle season. Yeah, or
Waffle season. It's big man's
clothing weather. So that also
means it's football weather.
As this season goes on,
we're going to realize more and more who are the
who are the pretenders and who are
the contenders and that is not a segue in the Sunday night football because we have America's
teams first. Kyle? As always, America's teams first because America is first. Number one,
America's team and I'm not going to give a lot of information here that San Francisco 49er
CMC, Kittle, Mr. Irrelevant, Fred Warner, those uniforms, there's a bunch of players I didn't even name.
Number two, Air Force football. Undefeated. Oh, they are? They're not, you know, Shadur Sanders isn't the
only offensive weaponry and housed in the great state of Colorado. The Air Force
Lightning bolts, as it were, on their helmets. I'm not sure what their name is. I think
they're just the Air Force. I feel like their mascot should be here. Falcons. Falcons.
Well, the Lightning Falcons. The Air Force Lightning Falcons are superior.
Number three, University of Southern California, they've got the best quarterback. They say he's
a generational talent. He's got painted fingernail.
They're the next generation, the next iteration of the future of football.
If you're looking at Lincoln Riley, he could be wherever Caleb Williams ends up, he could be his coach.
Yeah, you're right.
And you know what?
Cliff Kingsbury.
They also have Will Ferrell.
Different talent there we're working with.
Right?
Yeah.
That's the retort.
Oh, Cliff Kingsbury.
No, right.
I'm like, well, you know, you're not working with a toddler here, quarterback.
Yeah.
And Will Farrell is your DJ at your frat house.
He shows up to your frat party.
He's shooting a smoke gun at tens in the front.
I just love it.
USC,
it pains me to say this as a duck,
but USC number three.
Number four.
By the way, Kyle,
on your America's team,
I was up late watching that game,
and it was 17-0-0-Arizona.
I went to live bet,
Arizona,
or I went to live-bet,
I went to live-bet USC,
and they were still minus-150 money line down 17-0-0.
Or down-17-0.
So my dumb ass said, I was like, well, I guess I'm just going to bet Arizona.
I fell asleep as it going to overtime.
Caleb Williams, electric.
So that's Chase Long, that I always hear about on Twitter.
The X app, I apologize.
I'm a verified premium member of the X app, by the way.
This is a new development of my life.
I didn't tell my wife that I spent 100 bucks on Twitter yet.
I thought about paying for it so I could just write obnoxious novels.
The greatest thing about having premium, if you're ADD like me and you like to fire off tweets,
is when you press send, it sends you to a second page that's like an are you sure page with a little
wheel.
Tucker Carlson video.
It's a wheel that goes around and it's like, are you sure you want to send this?
You can either undo it or you can send it.
I like that.
I edited a half dozen tweets I sent it last night.
Editing, editing is a motherfucker.
I'd like to edit my tweet.
So the bear, you know what?
I was going to say the bears, but everybody knows they're back.
Number four, the X app.
Elon Musk.
Number four America's team.
Number five, freedom of speech, Chris.
Freedom of speech.
Chris. It's a big thing.
You know what I mean? And number five,
good husbands allowing
type A wives
decorative carte blanche
during the holiday season. I've been
approached by my wife who's amazing.
She's great, but she plans ahead.
So, you know, she's got turkeys
in mind. She's got Christmas trees in mind.
She's got presents in mine. Yeah, it's
fucking, it's Valentine's Day.
Good guys, you have to understand that this is part of the
deal. You know what I mean? We talk about golf.
They like to discuss ornaments.
Skiff and Halloween?
And what color, you know, does the tree have to be.
It's going to be green.
You're probably going to cut your own tree down, right?
It's going to be a green tree.
But I'm saying, what kind of shit are we putting on the green tree?
So America's team is what?
Good husbands dealing with type A wife.
All right, that's good.
Sign me up.
You know?
Who can relate more than us?
Sign me up.
Coach, when's the tryout?
Fuck, she got a lot of questions.
I don't have a lot of answers, all right?
All right.
She's not listening.
She's with the...
She is probably.
At the pumpkin patch.
My wife's working hard.
She's with the kids.
So, um, all right.
Is it my turn?
America's team?
Yeah.
Chris Stapleton fans.
I went Thursday night to see Chris Stapleton.
I've seen him before.
My dad's never seen him.
Took my parents.
Oh, wow.
Shout out to Pete,
uh,
Snyder for hooking us up with the, uh, the tickets through and game time
app.
So I got my tickets through game time.
And then my parents were like,
It was one of those things where mom and dad had been talking about this concert for months,
but not doing anything to secure tickets.
Like, Chris, what are we doing?
So game time hooked me up.
That's awesome.
And then I didn't have two more.
So I actually, through the Hail Mary, my boy Pete hooked this up, got my parents in the suite.
And dad, Kyle, was like a child.
He had never heard Chris Stapleton live before.
And every three seconds, he would turn around and go, he sounds just like on the album.
Oh, my gosh.
It reminds me of Van Morrison.
He spent the whole time...
What was the venue?
JPJ.
He spent the whole time like this.
I was watching the concert through his phone.
And you know, like, that's kind of a no-no nowadays.
Like, people are like, hey, just watch the show.
I even feel weird when I...
But dad is like in that boomer generation where it's totally fine to do that.
And he was just such a kid in a candy shop.
Love Chris Stapler.
Chris Stapleton is a bad motherfucker dude.
Doesn't say hello, doesn't say goodbye.
I don't know if you realize that, Cowboy Reed.
He didn't talk for three songs.
He just walked out, started playing.
Three songs in.
He was like, how y'all doing?
And then when he finished, by the way, they played rainbows,
he just walked off.
Which he's done this, I think, every time we've seen him,
but he'll hit that last chord.
His guitar just is reverberating through the whole place.
He just takes his guitar off, puts it on the ground,
band walks out the stage with the star guitar.
So going, re-e-it-clash-bangs.
He does.
And he's like, is it over?
The lights are on.
When he played second one to know, I caught myself just saying,
fucking badass.
I was like, he is such a badass.
He played white horse.
He played white horse first.
It was sick.
He started white horse parachute, second one to know.
The great thing about Chris Stapleton is the reason he's in America's team, like Chris
Stapleton's fans, is because everybody loves Chris Stapleton.
Like he crosses so many demos, like the whole thing, everybody.
Even if he don't listen to country.
He leaves the league in multiracial.
Instagram reaction videos to music where people are like, holy fuck.
Holy shit.
Wherever you come from, whatever music you like listening to, you probably like or
respect Chris Stapleton.
So America's team, Chris Stapleton fans.
The University of Virginia, we are no longer winless.
We beat William and Mary.
We had to go down 13 to 3.
That's how we do it.
But I feel really happy for those players.
They've been through a lot over the last calendar year, a year and a half.
You know, if you know about that whole situation, I don't need to say anything more.
But those guys getting a win, they've been through a ton.
I'm really happy for the players on the University of Virginia football team.
And right before a bye week.
So you get the soak in that win.
I don't want to be the bearer bad news.
Maybe be the only one, but maybe you get two weeks to soak it in, think about it,
gear up and get ready for the back half of the season.
The Rams defensive line.
I got to see William Hayes
I didn't even realize you were down there with them
So I went down to a little brother
Block party in Durham
And me and Dr. Fax went down
Because I know one of the guys in that group
Shout out to Big Pooh
And I know Joe Scudda
Who's a white rapper
And like we said to Joe this weekend
Like you're maybe one of our favorite white rappers
There's just not a lot to choose from
Gotta be
And I really like Joe
So Joe hooked this up
you know we got to see those guys play and it was a great vibe it was a great vibe like we we just kept
turned into each other like what a great party so shout out to a little brother and shout out to
william hayes and robert quaint because i hadn't seen those guys together in a few years you know
i got to see will a month or two ago but i love those guys every time i get together it reminds me
that great group we had so any st louis fans listening i still think about that group i still think
about that team. I know Rams fans say I hate the Rams. I could talk about that group forever
and the fun we had and we had just as much fun we got together this weekend. It was like watching
a few kids. Wasn't it? I really won't this weekend. That's a big weekend. It was cool. We were talking
about you. I would have definitely done that over rafting. We were talking about you. I pulled the video up
of where you drug William 15 yards down the field. I love William. Because all his friends from high
school are like, wait, wait, he never told us about this. I love William Hayes. Yeah, he's
the best. So the Rams defensive line. And then lastly, you said the Bears. The Bears are
American's team. Dick Buck has passed away. Yes, rest in peace. The guy lived a long time,
lived a full life. He was Chicago personified. He was, wasn't he? In the most respected way,
you know, him, Walter Payton, like they're easily Mount Rushmore guys in a storied franchise.
And for him to pass away, the guys haven't won a game in a calendar year. I've felt
I felt that before.
I've been on teams like that.
And to come out there with the bright lights on and to rip it up.
And Justin Fields to look good.
Now guys are running wide open.
But Justin Fields looked good.
Was that an asterisk?
I texted somebody who I consider a sharp.
And I was like, do I tease the commanders here?
No, this is before the game.
And the guy's like, I don't know, man.
Staying away, death game.
I was like, dude, I don't know if that's a thing.
a thing, but he was right.
You know, like Dick Bucket
passes away. You don't bet the commanders.
Football guys have a funny way.
Oh, I didn't even, I wasn't even using, I wasn't laughing
at the callback. I thought he could see this coming.
Like, this is a death game. No, I think he's
like, yeah, I don't play, I don't play death game.
You know, I don't, I don't do. Yeah, I don't take the other side of a
Dick Bucket's passing. You can bet Jersey retirement games like
Brett Farb gets his jersey retired Lambo.
I remember we beat that.
Jay J.J. Walk game down in Houston.
They run. You're absolutely right about a death.
they're in the building. So yeah, the Bears for sure an America's team. And then the Niners, man,
like we should just talk about the Niners and get right into it. They are, for a lot of people,
their parents' favorite team. They're your favorite team from when you were a kid in the 90s.
Like every time the Cowboys and the Niners play, it's like a rush of nostalgia, those uniforms,
the whole thing. It looked great out there. And the atmosphere was huge. This was a big, like,
well, let's find out who these two teams are.
And the question I have written down here,
and I'm glad people are finally catching up on this,
because year after year,
I put them right where they need to be,
and I take shit at the beginning of the season for it.
This year, I feel like people saw it coming off last year.
But are the Niners the best team in the league?
Is that an overreaction?
I think without question,
what we saw last night was a performance,
a dominant performance by the best team,
the class of the NFL.
Right now.
San Francisco 49ers.
And you take a look at the things
that people talk about and it's Kyle Shanahan,
it's Christian McCaffrey,
it's Bosa, but then you watch
the game and there's so many more layers to this
team than that. You look at
CMC's vision on the stretch zone,
which is a play he's ran since he was a fucking
pee-wee player. You know what I mean?
Since his thigh pads were too big,
we've seen videos of it.
George Kittle hadn't caught a touchdown
all year. He's running wide naked
open. Three.
One, two. Blocking his ass off.
By the way, he's on Scott Van Pelt show.
and I almost, it was like one in the morning
I'm watching SPP on SportsCenter
and Kittles doing a live hit.
The motherfucker's got a cut off on.
He looks just enormous, bro.
I almost walked out of my room
and got in the gym and started doing curls.
That's that team.
I mean, that's the way that Fred Warner
played the linebacker position.
Oh.
On every single pass over the middle,
he's triple extension,
hands reached out as far as he can,
maybe get a tip on it.
His pick last night.
But I mean,
he's turning into number two.
He's hockey guys.
on the sideline from 25 yards out.
And he unlocked so many things.
Like when you ask me, why are they the best?
Somebody asked me, Rich Eisen asked me last week on his show,
which I'm on every Monday.
So check that out if you haven't had enough of us.
But he asked me who the most valuable non-quarterback is on that team.
And I said it's Fred Warner.
And that's just the first thing came to mind.
Now you can say Christian McCaffrey,
but they were pretty good before that.
It just added another element.
You could say Debo.
The yards per carry is massive from any back.
back in that office, by the way.
Yeah, and I think, exactly.
I mean, look at the other guys that they plugged in.
And that's no, that's no dirt on Christian McCaffer.
No, or most dirt or any of these guys
that have played well in San Francisco,
but they have a system and it is tactical.
And on defense, they have a system as well
that's kind of cheat codey.
And the biggest cheat code to me is having a backer
that can let you do so many things in coverage.
I mean, we're gonna talk about the bills losing Matt Milano.
Oh, like,
There's only one other guy like that, and it's Fred Warner,
and Fred Warner's the best in the business.
And so, you know, like, you don't even get it.
You talk about just forgetting there's certain guys
on this defense like Drake Greenlaw.
Charverius Ward last night, blanketing the sideline,
like just going for a jog down the sideline.
And then I gotta have it for Dak Prescott,
just a safe face.
Yeah, and you talk to George Kittle after game.
Scott was talking to him, and he was like,
you know, what can you tell me about what this defense does for you?
And he's like, they're just,
They're unrelentingly physical and aggressive.
And eventually you can't match that level.
And especially when the offense is scoring the way they're scoring,
to beat this team, you have to be perfect.
You have to play damn near perfect,
especially if you're the Cowboys.
I think, you know, like some other teams might be able to make some mistakes
and hang in there with these guys.
Zero room for error without.
But like you start the first drive,
you get a 15-yard penalty,
and then you book-end it by blowing a coverage,
not passing a coverage off.
You come out in the second half,
you're trading punts for for touchdowns,
interceptions for touchdowns.
And you know, for the Cowboys,
this has gotten worse every time they've played them.
You know, the defense imposing their will in the Cowboys,
the points have gone like this in this trilogy,
down, down, down.
And last night, as the offense has now taken a leap
with Brock Purdy, who in my opinion,
I said this like a month ago,
he is a fringe top 10 quarterback.
And I'm not putting him in the elite category,
That's disrespectful.
He's not those guys.
No, I'm just...
I think he's top eight.
You think he's top eight?
I haven't listed them.
I haven't gone through that process.
Yeah, we'll try it later.
We will.
That'll be a fun exercise.
So I think he, by fringe, I mean, he could be nine, he could be 11, he could be 12, but he's not in the elite category.
He's played his way there.
But what he is for me and the reason that I respect him, it's this offense can get held against him,
but he can make the off-schedule plays.
And that's where he kind of thrives, I feel.
feel like. Like, you know, he can run the offense like a point guard and then he can go score. You know,
you call two-a-point guard in Miami. You call Purdy a point guard in San Francisco. The thing I
like about Purdy is he handles pressure well and he can create. He's a good game, man. And he knows
when to do it. He can manage, but then he can go, he can go actually make plays. He was seven for 10
of 10 plus air yards, not bullets, not, you know, bullet passes him mad. He's layering the football,
uh, you know, and who knows? If Fred,
corners of Mike linebacker. Maybe he doesn't layer some of the balls that got through last night.
Yeah. We're close. Yeah. We were tight, tight, tight window drops in a bucket. But that's what he can do. He's accurate. He understands crossing routes, when to throw it, get guys into those windows. Like you said, he's athletic. It looks off schedule to us, but it's on schedule to Brock. He's got it right up here. And so, you know, like, McKivitz did a nice job. You talk about, like, we were worried about McKivitz. They kept Dallas down on the pressure state.
If you can have Dallas thinking and not just going,
like it's going to be a good day for you.
And I think that's what they did.
They ran away from Parsons when they passed.
A lot of bodies on the other side of things.
McDaniels or not McDaniels,
there's too many mix.
McCarthy's McDaniels, McDaniels.
Mike McCarthy really struggled, you know,
to get Bosa blocked up as a game plan.
I know he's not, you know, he's not,
in the meeting room with the offensive line,
but like you have to have a plan for how you're going to get Nick Bosaw,
you know,
blocked. And it's just one of those things where you just said,
hey, fuck it. Like, we'll just run our shit. And on the other side,
they're building that whole game plan around Parsons.
So I thought they did a really good job with that the coaches did.
They were out coached. They were out-class. They were out-played.
They're out-played on their heels for the cowboys. And it showed.
Every time they cut away to that sideline,
you and I know body language means is worth what we see.
Worth mentioning.
So you see Micah and the frustration over there.
having conversations trying to figure out,
what are you seeing, what am I saying?
This is what they're doing.
And they don't have answers for what Talhanna-Han-
Nobody has answers when, yeah.
So I'm afraid of.
I texted some people last night and I was like,
I'm scared for the rest of the league.
If that team shows up in any stadium to play, whoever shows up,
they could be in trouble.
This is why I put them in the top,
up at the top of the league.
And you know, like, this is why they were my due over Super Bowl pick
after the whole Aaron Rogers thing.
It's because,
they match up well with everybody.
Like when you look at a team,
if you're getting ready to call them the best team in football,
you better go and match them up with the other teams in football.
Obviously, the bills, the injuries right now,
a week ago, you might have said, oh, the bills,
the injuries, if they played today,
Niners are favored.
The Chiefs, I think they play right now, they beat them.
I think they're a better team right now, okay?
They're playing a much better ball.
Yeah, the Dolphins, the middle of the field, erasure,
Erasure, am I saying that correctly?
I always fucked that word up.
The middle of the field, like, it just goes away with Fred Warner.
We just talked about it.
And those linebackers, the chaos in the run game.
You can't run the ball?
You think the bills triggered fast last week?
These fucking guys are machines top down.
When Dak was taking the checkdowns, they were blowing motherfuckers up.
The Eagles, I think, actually match up okay relative to the other groups.
But I think San Francisco has gained something from a year ago,
if I'm looking at the first point of season.
front forward, right?
And Philly's working through some things.
Philly's a front forward group.
And by the time that that matchup would come around,
one that is going to determine if they're playing or packing next week,
I think that that defense will have matured to a level that's going to be pretty scary for other teams as well.
I don't think any team that's not committed to the run is going to have even a slight chance against,
against 49ers.
Yeah.
Like regardless if you're going to be like have 200 or like even like 100 yards rushing on the ground,
like you have to be a team to be able to think.
throw that in there because you're going to have to do play action. You're going to have to move
your quarterback out the pocket because their defense is with Bosa, you got to get the ball off.
And he's showing that. And for quarterbacks, that, for you to be comfortable, you have to
establish the run. And it looks like now their defense is just, they're being lights out. And so to
your point, you're playing against the defense of the Niners, but you're also playing against
their offense. And the pressure that they apply now being a high scoring outfit, like,
it was easy at times last night. So in my opinion, best in the league right now, this week.
You talk about matchups and the Eagles a few years ago with Lane Johnson, he was an off
button. He was a mute button for whatever you put across from him. Trent Williams is a guy
we didn't mention this morning, and I'd be remiss if I didn't. When Collinsworth and Toriko
were presenting this heavyweight matchup that was about to take place and the, who has a
There's camera one on Trent Micah.
And you see, and you can see Trent dig in in his stance.
And you can see him bow up a little bit.
And he takes that big, he takes that big pup before the snap.
And I'm like, oh, my God, he's about to unleash hell on.
And he takes his step, boom, boom, boom, boom.
Four hands on Micah.
Micah's, like, looks like a child in Trent Williams' chest.
Yeah.
No disrespect to Mike up.
No, this is a bad, this is a tough matchup.
So moving forward in terms of matchup, whoever you have on that side,
erase them. We can scheme for the right side. If you, if you got multiple rushers,
if Vaughn's back and Leonard's rushing well, I trust Trent Williams to,
yeah, to make that assignment happen. And I trust the scheme to get it done on the other side.
And on the other side of things, get Micah some rushes on somebody who's not, you know,
you should give Mike a green light to go wherever he wants. Let me ask you this, Chris.
Right, Chris? So you're about to play San Francisco and you're the premier rusher on your team.
But for your team to win, your coach tells you that week,
we're going to put you opposite Trent Williams.
Are you like, are you like pushing back at that?
No.
Stay away, right?
Push me over that.
Yeah.
You know, elite rushers, elite rushers,
because, you know, there was a time where I, you know, like,
you know, I was pretty good.
You were an elite rusher.
Yeah, there was some time like that.
And like, I've been in those rooms where you're like,
But if you're playing the 49ers, you will be like a year like this.
You'll be like, no, I could be Trent.
Like, no.
No.
We want, we want buckets.
If you haven't noticed, they all count the same.
D. Lyman are so selfish, bro.
They want one thing.
Yeah.
And when you're that good, to help your team win, you want to be on the mismatch.
And so anyways, we should talk about last week's best team.
Nobody wants to line up on Dr. William.
Because, yeah, his last week.
We were pretty sure the bills were the best team in the league.
And this is the way this thing goes.
But I was guilty of it.
So, you know, we talked about going out to London early or going out on Friday.
And I thought, this is the game I sat down.
We were traveling back from Durham.
And then I got a chance to watch pretty much the whole thing.
But they came out on Friday.
And I've been on Doug's teams where you go out on Friday.
And I love Doug.
Sometimes I didn't agree with the travel stuff.
You know, like I've complained about, and he's one of the coaches who's a method to the madness, man.
You know, like, Doug had him out there two weeks, so we didn't have to worry about that.
Like, they settled in London, their circadian rhythms.
They're laying in weight.
But when you go out on Friday, which is something we did with the Eagles, and it's what the bills did,
coaches will listen to these sleep specialists, these fucking sports scientists,
and they will tell you, although I can tell you as a player, how slugging.
I feel going out 48 hours before the game.
They'll tell you all this bullshit about, you know,
science says you shouldn't go out there too early
because, you know, like, you're actually not adjusting.
You might as well minimize the time.
Your jet lag, the whole thing.
Should surprise your body.
Yeah, you should surprise your body.
I'm like, sneak up on myself.
So why when we walk in the hotel is there a station
that five guys are sitting in there
and they're just staring into a fucking light,
like they're being abducted by aliens
because there's these,
these,
these,
um,
what the way,
the circadian rhythm
reset kind of machines
like people using
for seasonal depression
disorder and I'll be using
one soon,
I'm pretty sure.
The Oregon Ducks have it
in their locker room.
Can you get one on Amazon?
Because,
you know,
around,
which is cool.
This time of year.
Oregon Ducks overhead light
in the locker room, Chris.
Yeah.
Actually those lights.
So they're just staring
at the ducks.
No,
you don't have to stare at it.
It's just like,
while you're getting changed.
Because you're up in the pack
Northwest.
It's affecting you.
So,
but that's the whole thing.
It's like,
go duck.
You spend six hours on a plane.
You probably don't sleep.
You're jet lagged.
You get to the hotel.
They're waking you up.
They're telling you not to go to bed.
People are coming.
You're pissed off because you want to sleep,
but they're waking you up.
They're not going to.
Rooms service knocks on the door.
We had a sleep specialist in St. Louis who woke me up for no fucking reason the first day
we got to London.
I almost got it like,
I almost killed the guy.
You know,
it's like because these coaches,
they're not playing,
but they think they have it down because they got people in theirs.
I don't like going out on Friday.
And I think it showed.
Now, Stefan Diggs said, and when I heard him say this, I was like,
he was calling, he was calling Josh Allen's sleepy head.
So I'm like, ha ha, it's real funny, but I've been there.
And I'm like, I'm like, is he fucking tired?
When did he call him that?
Like when they got to London.
And you know, it's a huge game last week.
You played a really intense football game.
I would have turned around on Monday and gone out to London.
And hindsight's 2020.
I don't know if it was just out of the execution,
but I thought they came out slow.
And not only that, but they're banged up.
So, like, drive one, and this was the stuff with the offense.
I'm not going to list every single one.
You can go back through the game and look.
But drive one, Cook drops it on third and short.
Okay, it's third and short.
And the ball placement is a little bit off in the flat.
And you go three and out.
You go three and out again.
You look up beginning of the fucking.
second quarter. You've run like seven plays on offense and you're down like 11 nothing.
And I felt in a foreign land in a foreign land sleepie head. Yeah against a good football team.
And you know, you're taking six yard losses on second and one. You're playing with your food.
You're tossing the ball of the flat and motherfuckers are TFLs. The whole thing. I felt like Josh and
the offense as a whole had an attitude of let's just get these drives going. Whereas last week it was like,
let's go for the fucking jugular.
And I'm not going to ignore the fact
this is maybe the worst rushing game
that they've had in years.
Like it was bad.
They couldn't get the run game going.
And when you come into the game,
like Josh Allen's been up near the top of the league
in play action pass.
He's top five in yards for attempt,
touchdowns, raiding and play action pass.
You can't use that stuff.
You know, if you can't get the James Cook going,
we've talked about for weeks now,
that's going to hurt you.
And so like it wasn't just the first half.
You know, you pick out Gabe Davis drop on second and 10 in the second half.
You're like, no big deal.
But this is a tight football game.
Second and 10 is third and four and third and 10's a big difference.
So like you got an easy throw out on an out route to Gabe Davis.
Catch the ball.
You know, and they everybody took a turn in this thing.
But including the quarterback, I don't think they were like really firing on all cylinders.
You get you get Dawkins drive killer hold.
You know, like you're like, oh, big deal.
but that kills a drive in a tight ball game.
So I just thought they had a ton of those.
And ultimately, yeah, they didn't get the run game going.
They also didn't use the QB run game.
And that's a game when you're bogged down,
that I put the mattress on Josh Allen's back.
That's a backbreaker for the defense and say,
hey, let's get somebody.
They haven't showed a lot of QB run game this year.
I would have used it.
And you end up having 21 minutes of time possession.
And not to continue to rant about this thing.
I know the defense is out there a lot.
I know they're fucking, the offenses,
playing real well, but take a turn, even with the injuries, and stand up when you have opportunities
to do that. Three drives in the second half that totaled 17 minutes, 30 seconds in a ballgame
where you're chasing points, they started at the Jags Zone 6, at the Jags Zone 8, and at the
Jags Zone 7. I will list the drives, 1334 to go in the third quarter. Okay, you start at the
you're the jags the bills take over at their own nine so you you miss a chance to flip the field
the clock gets eaten up and it's like the pourier penalty backed up that extends that drive so you
be off the field you could flip the field you don't do that 7.56 to go in the third quarter
your own eight if you're jet if you're the jaggs you start off they go 17 play 63 yards
they fumble but they take eight minutes off the fucking clock okay and again third and 11 Ridley on
Eland backed up. Third and seven, multiple third and ones. Get off the field, you know, the last one.
And this was after the play of the game for me defensively for the Jags. It's a 50-50 ball to
Stefan Diggs that he just turns into a punt, 50, 60 yards down the field. And you're like, I'm sure
Stefan Diggs is coming up with this ball. With Darius Williams came up with the ball. And at that point,
they get down to the four. I think they win that game. I think they go up 1411 and I think they
cruise the rest of the way but darius williams gets that ball and they go there's not enough 10 plays
93 yards and cap it off of the touchdown okay so like you're just missing opportunities not just the
the hands to the face on the first touchdown the end of the game you need a three and out you get
riddley dropping a bucket for 32 like time and time again the bill's defense just didn't do enough and
i know they're hurting i know it's a fucking tough day to say that you're down
Milano, you were down Rousseau, you're down
Benford, you're down White, you're down
Lawson, but you've got to step
up when you get the opportunity to do that.
For me, this is such a huge
moment for Doug Peterson.
It's such a huge career moment for
Trevor Lawrence, the adversity of
going across the pond and playing
twice.
2 and 0. Twice coming back
here after beating Josh Allen.
Third downs are
massive in the NFL. He was 8 for
9, 90 yards on third down.
not good there. But that is a stat
that's really telling of his confidence
in the pocket, his understanding
of the scheme. Him and Doug are hitting
at the right time. Obviously, we were
questioning their whereabouts
early in the season, but Trevor Lawrence
is back, baby. The hair
is back in. Yeah, and it takes a month.
We talked about it taking a month
in the passing game. ETS,
like they couldn't get the run game going up the middle,
but they were, they were
dentin them on the perimeter early in the game.
And ETS really, the yards added up.
And I thought the perimeter run game, Kyle, occupying the second level's eyes and keeping them in the run front, staying engaged.
And then they killed him with Calvin Ridley.
Calvin Ridley, on whatever corner, whoever you wanted to match him up with, he was lethal.
And a bunch of them were third downs.
And so, you know, Lawrence, he's seven for 22 to Ridley on various defensive backs.
There wasn't one.
The bills loaded the box, even with the fucking.
corners outside and they said you got to beat us and they did they take shot and you know
lawrence making that check on third and four late in the in the game it's the second week in
row they've gone off schedule to do something in a big situation that that fourth down where he
ducked under the free runner and really took the uh the go route because the coverage was was was
was fucked up you know like so they're working together and i think third down with trevor lawrence
typically being kind of mid there like over his career this is the the the the the the the the
you know, the guy who can win a matchup on third down.
And you've got that guy now.
So, you know, when they went out and paid Christian Kirk and everybody was like,
oh, he's overpaid the whole thing.
He's still getting great production from the guy.
But this is a guy like that.
Yeah.
Okay.
Like, Kirk's a really good player.
Calvin Ridley is a guy that can absolutely change the outcome of ball games
because in key money downs, he's going to win for you.
And I also think maybe we should just fucking credit the Jacksonville defense.
Mm-hmm.
Because it's starting to look like they just had a bad.
game when they played the Texans. And sometimes I can stick in your mind, but they played a
similar ball game to this against the Chiefs, the differences, the red zone, the third downs.
I think like if the, if the Jags offense catches up, they're never going to be an elite rush unit.
They just don't have the personnel for that, but they can be really stout in the run game
and they can get home by playing really hard and rushing as a group. I think I got to give
credit to the Jacksonville defense. And Buffalo,
Last thing, where do we go from here?
You lose Matt Milano.
This is as important a loss as any.
Trey White, you were like, ah, that's terrible.
But we can try to survive.
We've played a lot of guys outside.
Leader of the defense.
I mean, it's not just him.
It's Dequan Jones.
Milano, it's a bunch of guys.
Now the injuries are piling up for them.
And trade candidates, immediately I'm thinking about,
okay, let me check on those two badasses down in Tampa.
You know, Devin White, Levanti, David,
because they're supposed to be tanking, right?
You need somebody who can fly around and make tackles.
Yeah.
That's what you need.
And good recognition and eyes.
Now, the backup played pretty well.
Yeah.
But Levanti would be a great option.
Real good.
I'm not saying that they're actually going to make a trade for one of these guys,
but I'm going through the thought exercise of,
okay, what do we do now?
And when you look around the league,
it's hard to find guys that are playing at a high level at linebacker
on teams that are willing to dump them.
Maybe the bucks start losing and you see something before the deadline.
Part of the grieving process of a Matt Milano fan like ourselves.
We go immediately like, can we replace it?
I don't even want to tell my kids.
That's what those recruiters get paid for.
I mean, it might be too much, but you got to go find someone sitting on a practice squad.
Or like look at a backup somewhere that you know that probably can play.
But you have practice squad guys.
You have backups.
Yeah, I know.
Yeah, I know.
So I guess it's going to be, it's going to, like you said, it's going to be tough.
But you got to have the.
deep you got to hope your backups your practice squad guys have a next man up attitude and that goes for
everybody in the defense that they've lost but but i but i think you know a move might be in the cards
and i want to shout out a j a finessa who you know like they should thank their lucky stars that he had
that strip sack you got home in two two two trevor laurence getting the ball out in the first half at
two four you know in the second half at three so like they definitely had a game plan where they
were like we're going to get the ball out we're going to beat these corners and we're going to be on time
And so getting down the red zone, I think they're down 11-0-0 or something like that, or 11-7 maybe after the bill's touchdown.
The only real positive they had in that first half was that big strip sack by FNessa.
And he also had a couple of PBOs and that sort of thing.
And then Ed Oliver, he had a penalty or two.
You know, I'm sure he wasn't perfect.
But this guy is a guy that nobody talks about.
He's a tough out.
And he's just a fucking dog.
He is shorter than you would imagine.
Yeah.
Like if you were to break the huddle as an o'blin,
you'd break the huddle.
Sometimes there's massive guys where you're like,
that's a lot of man standing across.
I remember Limbaal Joseph was like that.
When you get a guy with a stature like Ed Oliver,
or Geno Adkins switches from the shade on the other side to the three,
or, you know, the three's flip,
and you're like, fuck, I have to try to block a fire hydrant
with an immense skill set.
Fire hydrant.
And that's Ed Oliver, and he's got great leverage.
I saw him a few weeks ago line up off the ball.
We saw Micah Parsons and Miles Garrett do the,
the pre-snap basketball action.
He did a little bit of that off the ball
with a bull rush a few weeks ago.
So Ed Oliver's got some dynamic skill to him.
Shout out to Ed and a loss.
Shout out to AJ and a loss.
Those are the type of guys
that are going to have to step up for this group.
Kyle, I'm going to give you the first
shot at talking about your favorite team,
Chiefs and Vikings.
Would you see?
Yeah, well, the Chiefs knew they were going to be in a dog fight.
Look, I mean, this offense for Minnesota
has been explosive.
all year and for the Chiefs.
They haven't really been clicking on all cylinders.
Yeah, we have a really high bar.
We have set for the Kansas City Chiefs.
And as a fan, you want to see them go out and be the Showtime Lakers every week.
I saw guys like Rashie Rice step up yesterday.
Also, the presence of Travis Kelsey is remarkable for this office.
Andrew was scary.
I thought you were.
I think they're one of the last teams with the thin, slit film turf.
I think I was reading that.
It's a beautiful stadium.
Imagine if that place had a better option for a surface.
I'm not blaming that for the injury.
Things happened.
He went out, got x-rays.
It was scary, man.
It was scary.
It looked like those, that textbook non-contacted.
I thought it was like, man, Liz Frank, something like that.
And the guy comes out of the locker room after the half, catches five touchdowns,
or five receptions in a drive and has a touchdown.
And the limp's gone.
Yeah.
All the while, Patrick Mahomes had been tweaked on a near roll-up.
at the end of a play, and it kind of wasn't talked about,
and Pat's limping as well.
Yeah.
And it's kind of a microcosm of this offense right now,
where it's like, we've got the right guys,
but we're limping a little bit offensively.
Pacheco in the run game was decent.
It wasn't as explosive as the week before,
but I give credit to this defense.
Legerius Sneed lined up across from Justin Jefferson.
Things got a little bit chippy over there.
It might have been one-sided chippiness.
Because if you're a legious need,
you get an opportunity to go play the greatest receiver right now,
aside from your old teammate, which you got tired of practicing against him, I'm sure.
That was awesome to watch.
Some of his jump sets, you know, if he was jamming Justin Jefferson were borderline Mike Tysonish.
Yeah.
He's got some long arms.
Yeah, he's got long arms.
He's super rangy, a great tackler.
Yeah.
A sure tackler on the edge.
And we saw him get in the face of the passer multiple times.
He's also got a great relationship with officiating.
Does he?
Yeah.
You're going to cover the past.
I didn't want to talk about it. It was funny. It was an overthrown ball. No, no, I'm not talking
about the penalty. What do you think I'm going to cover? Go ahead. You're talking about the
helmet or the overthrow? I'm talking about the helmet. Go ahead with the helmet because I don't know
the rules clearly. I said that Legerius should. So you're going to learn. So if there was a first down,
he should have been off the field after he lost his helmet or no. Is that not the rule?
Well, he didn't lose his helmet because Virginia is kind of a sticking point. He took his helmet off.
You want me to. I'm sorry. So Virginia, so Virginia, because I can tell you're passionate about this.
I'm just pointed out.
It's like last night I tweeted.
I exited.
I was like,
buddy just took his helmet off right in the official's face.
And the official was like,
hey, put your helmet back on.
I've never seen anything like it.
The official,
I'm just pointing out that it is funny that the official,
whose job it is every time to throw that flag
and it just happened to Virginia.
It was college ball.
We lost a fucking game.
It wouldn't be an America's team this week.
If we had beaten NC State,
we lost because the quarterback's helmet's coming off.
and he fucking just finishes
his job, takes it off,
and they flag him.
So I was like, in that moment,
now the thing people miss,
I think there's still a lot of people that miss that.
This is obviously that call
at the end of the game
that went the chief's way when they picked it up.
I think a lot of people thought
that that helmet off personal foul
would somehow extend the drive.
It wouldn't.
If the flag had been picked up.
Now, what it might have done
is made things harder for the chiefs
to complete that game.
But I just thought it was pretty funny.
Now, Chiefs fans, they go nuts in your mentions,
like you're saying that they get all the calls.
I'm not saying that.
I'm saying, though, you dig, you kind of got away with one there.
Got away with one.
So my understanding was.
And a face mask on that.
So there was the flag on the ground.
Yes, I had the Vikings.
There was the flag on the ground, which Kevin O'Connell saw.
He also saw Legerius Knee take his helmet off.
They cut to the camera of O'Connell.
That's why he's freaking out.
He took his helmet off, though.
Like, whatever.
whatever you say about that, he took his helmet off.
And in my head, I'm thinking, if the penalty stands and he took his helmet off, there's
another penalty on top of that, which leads to, in my understanding of the rules that you're out
for a play, which somebody said that's only in college.
Yeah, I think that's college.
But in the NFL, I remember there was a time where it was like, if your helmet does come off,
you need to come out for a play.
To put it on.
Yeah, that's if your equipment's fucked up.
But buddy just took it off.
I don't want to spend the whole time talking about calls.
I just thought it was a funny thing.
So I think the Chiefs, big boy win for them.
Big win on the road.
It's good to see Kelsey finish the game.
Pat, healthy as well.
And the O line held up well.
There was a sack by Daniel Hunter early that was two guys got beat.
It was really rare to see two guys get beat on the Chief's line at once.
Creed got edged in the middle late.
Daniel Hunter wins immediately at the tackle position.
We knew he'd win some of those.
can't have two guys losing.
I understand that every week
you're going to be maybe one guy
with a mismatch.
But this is the Vikings.
They play everybody close.
It's why I bet them.
I still felt like they were right there.
And it's a tough road environment
for the chiefs.
So like every opportunity you have
to grow as a group with those receivers,
a lot of them are getting their first look
at extended action.
Like on the road, communication,
the whole thing.
This was a tough test for them.
Blitz package from Harrison Smith.
Eric McKinnon blocked his ass off in the backfield.
His B-Flow wasn't going to be afraid.
He blitzed the fuck out of Mahomes
when he went down to Miami a couple years ago.
So this was, I know it's kind of like a,
oh, they did what they were supposed to do.
And people, but this, every win is,
it builds something when you've got a team
that's got a lot of new pieces.
So Eagles, they are building something.
The Eagles are building something because, you know,
you got two new coordinators,
the first month of the season,
people are like, I've gotten a lot of a sense
of like, what's wrong?
with the Eagles. You know, like people
ask me. I went on a Commanders podcast. Are they real?
I'm like, well, they're fucking 4 and O.
They're one of only three teams now to be 5
and 0 off of
a loss on a Super Bowl. So like
I saw that on SVP show last night.
So they're coming out
like a professional outfit. And I want
to say this first. I think of the Eagles
now. Dad and I were talking last
week and he was like, do they kind of remind you the Patriots
sometimes like when the Patriots were real good?
Like they can they can just
do what they need to do to win, like they can, and it's true because they can morph into a couple
different teams. They are shapeshifters. That's a good way to put it. And, and, and, you know, like,
I think, I think on top of that, if you want to be the Patriots, if you want to be some team that
that comes back year after year, you have to pass these tests. You have to, you have to, if you lose
the Super Bowl, you intend on being back there again, you have to start fast. You have to, like,
you have, can't lose momentum. This window closed for a second,
for them, but the Eagles have been relevant now for six, seven years.
I mean, and so I want to tip my cap to them for building a program, you know,
and also switching coaches, nailing the hire, even though he was nervous at the fucking
press conferences, geniuses.
He was.
You know, like, for them to stick the landing and be right back where they are, there's
something programmatic that's good about the Eagles.
And I think, I think this is one of those wins.
So Eagles offense, back to basics, tough West Coast trip.
you know offensive line first off was great as always and I think that's the backbone of this team
but you know they're push in five times in this game including at the end of the first half
they're you know they're like fuck it we're going to score a touchdown which I love
they're push pushing on fourth and two it was almost disrespectful it was like a long two
you get the swift run game we talked about that run game we talked about them getting the rams
out of that penny front the lighter nickel look out of that penny front that's disrespectful
Yeah, and they got them out really quick.
I mean, and we thought it might be Swift.
Swift was 17 for 70 on the ground.
But what it was was Dallas Goddard.
We talked about those matchups where you have a size advantage because of that.
You got him out of penny.
He had four receptions for 45 on the first drive.
I don't mean to say you got him out of penny the whole game,
but you got him out of the smaller groupings.
And then the QB run game, which is something we highlighted.
You know, the first month of the season, I don't know if Jalen, you know,
if they're like being intentional about, hey,
we don't want to beat this guy or maybe he was a little dinged.
I know McNabb had something to say about something.
It kind of went under the radar.
I don't know if that was clickbait,
but McNabb said, I think he's dinged.
This was a few weeks ago.
They're running the ball.
And, you know, like without Jalen Hertz,
you leave a little bit of top end production in the run game on the table.
I mean, it's damn near perfect, but this is this stuff.
We talked about Rams Rush Lanes.
We talked about quarterback run.
They went to it in the red zone.
I was really happy to see that.
Even though every time you run the guy, it is risky.
I mean, he took a step on one of his longer runs,
and I thought he blew his knee out.
I mean, like he landed awkward.
It's like every time I'm holding my breath.
But to win these big games, you've got to use him.
And third down, 13 of 18 compared to 412 last week.
205 in the red zone, if I'm nitpicking,
and they threw a pick in the end zone.
So this could have been worse.
The Eagles defense, though, to me, are the stars of the day.
because I was worried about this Rams offense.
They've been picking some people apart in the secondary.
You're short-handed.
They get Cooper Cup back.
If you were to tell the Rams in team meeting Friday night,
the mind reader comes in.
You know, he fucking reads Sean McVeigh's mind.
He reads Cooper Cups' mind.
He's like, guys, I got an announcement to make.
The Rams, you're going to give up 23 points to the Eagles,
the defending NFC champions.
We're going to win.
We're going to win that game.
Easy.
That's the mindset of a team that can score.
And so I thought the Eagles defense,
keeping the points down, especially in the second half.
Decide coming in and saying, listen,
we've given up a bunch of Cooper Cup,
the first drive, I think he goes like five for 56.
We're going to put a stop to that.
We're going to put our best guys on them.
No more, I mean, the guys that he had,
They had Morrow Ricks and a couple other guys on them on the first drive.
And so like we got to fix that.
So you go to the half, fuck it, we're putting Bradbury back in the slot some.
Bradbury, Slay, like we're going to throw the kitchen sink at this guy.
Three sacks in the second half.
Jalen Carter came out on fire and finished by Hassan Reddick,
who continues to be a big moment guy for them.
But three sacks, five hits in the second half, cup two for 23.
be an 81 yards of offense.
So these defensive adjustments
really worked for them.
And I got to tip my cap to the coordinator.
You know, it was just...
Shut out, second half, too.
It was just a complete game by them.
Everybody had a hand in this thing.
And I know this was going to be a tough game.
I talked about not wanting to bet it.
I teased it.
But the Eagles weren't in control of this game
in the second half.
Because they have that run game
and the defense started tightening up
and you could just feel,
even though the Rams were in it,
they had them at arms length.
And I think for the Rams,
you know, you're two and three
out of this tough stretch.
I thought they'd be worse.
I want to tip my cap to them.
And McVeigh is a hell of a football coach.
Two and three, but they have an identity.
And it's understated. Like you're talking about
McVeigh is a hell of a football coach.
We talk about a half dozen guys every Sunday and Monday.
Yeah.
None of them are last name McVeigh.
And we forget about the boy genius.
That's another Irish guy.
We forget about the.
Boy, genius, Irish coaches.
Watching this game, you can, it's kind of the explanation of defense wins
championships.
Because the Rams clearly have an offense that can score points, but when you look at
their team, their defense is just Aaron Donald and a bunch of guys.
And a bunch of guys that play hard, but when it comes to the ending of the season,
like, you're going to need a defense.
Playmakers.
You're going to need playmakers.
You're going to need points on defense.
You're going to need things happening.
You can't beat the Eagles with just Aaron Donald.
Aaron Donald has not made a huge impact when he's played the Eagles because there's five giants there and they're coming to the game and saying, hey, we're going to fucking double the shit of Aaron Donald.
Even John Snow needed the cavalry to arrive.
Yes, at the Battle of the Bastards.
Exactly.
John Snow can't just stand out there in front of the horses all fucking bad.
You can't do it himself.
You need like some of the hobbits and shit.
So, you know, like anyways, I just think the Rams have to be at least happy with what they put forth the first.
third or so of the season.
And listen, you've had end of half issues.
You talked about the touch push before the half.
The Rams have given up touchdowns to the Eagles now,
the Bengals, I think the Bengals.
And they gave up another one before that, the Niners.
We talked about that.
And missed field goals before Seahawks and Colts halftime.
So middle of the game for them,
middle eight has to be better.
And, you know, like the AJ Brown horse collar and big reception.
The Eagles come out.
It's third and one.
You've got like 30 seconds to go.
31 other teams would have kneeled the ball.
But Siriani, let's take a shot.
See what fucking happens.
Give your players a chance to make plays.
And if you don't make that play, it feels a lot different going into the half.
And so not just that, but I'm not going to kick a field goal.
We're going to fucking score a touchdown here.
I love it.
It's aggressive.
It is aggressive.
as long as it's not triple zero.
You're talking to talk.
Like Andy Reid.
When you say to your players, we're gonna be aggressive, man.
I'm gonna be aggressive.
I used to be a fucking analyst under Mike Shanahan
or Kyle Shanahan.
Yeah.
Well, if you don't go out there and be aggressive,
then nobody's gonna respect you.
And I think like coaches,
they can be these pencil neck offensive guys,
but if you don't have balls,
players aren't gonna respect you.
We can sense it.
Mike McDaniel, his players respect him
because he's fucking aggressive.
Yep.
because he's fearless.
You don't have to be...
Fearless and smart enough to dial it up.
You don't have the right thing.
You don't have to be one...
Mike Tice for guys to be like, oh,
you're going to throw it deep every time.
You got to just be like,
hey, we're going to go out there
and be fearless.
And I think that's what Nick Siriani,
a lot of these other young coaches
are doing really well.
Fellas, do we have an ad read?

And congrats to Denise in the chat.
She just won something.
She just won something.
I want to dedicate this pod to Denise because she is the only person on X
who seems to be in our mentions on a regular basis.
Love you, Denise.
We don't do well on X.
We don't give a fuck about X, but we care about Denise.
Love you.
Shout out to Denise.
Shout out Denise.
Thank you.
Shout out to Tom.
Tom's old cat, Denise.
Shout to our old babysitter, Denise.
We had a babysitter name Denise.
All the Denise's. Let's power rank them.
Number one, the Gallinar mentions.
Number two, the cat.
Number three, Denise.
He was a live wire.
No, bless.
Should have been babysitting her.
Yeah.
You know?
Huck her up.
See what happened.
People are going to be like, we got to hear the Denise stories.
Yeah, well, maybe later.
Maybe later.
Yeah, not the live show.
All right.
So out of that, we're going to go Raven Steelers, man.
They guys, these guys have it on the rundown.
Raven Steelers, in parentheses, Matt Canada should still be fired.
So I get what I'm supposed to say here.
But the bottom line is with the Steelers, if you have a party, they're that guy that if you don't get them out of the house by 10 o'clock,
the motherfucker's going to be sleeping on your couch.
The Steelers are going to be sleeping on your couch if you leave them in the ball game.
And if somebody with the Steelers over Whid, Total, who loves to hear people lament Mike Tomlin's high floor style of coaching and yada, yada, yada, we'll talk about Matt Canada, but this is a Mike Tomlin spot.
This is why I bet the game.
The Black Air Force One game.
This is a Black Air Force one game.
This is a.
this is a division rivalry after you get thumped on the road.
You come back to Pittsburgh, back to your den,
and you walk the Ravens right to the trap.
And the trap was catching the football, apparently.
The trap was, hey, Ravens, can you beat yourselves?
If you beat yourselves for 56 minutes, we're going to finish the job.
He was throwing to the wide droppers instead of the wide receivers.
Listen, I just, and I'll say this, Lamar,
turnovers in the fourth quarter, got to be better.
couple years been bad. I'm not putting this
fucking loss on Lamar.
He was damn near perfect
except for that fucking fade
in the end zone, which I don't know what was going on
there. There was such a bad throw that
was kind of like maybe there was a miscommunication.
I'm not trying to absolve him. It's a bad throw.
Okay. But the rest
of the game, he looked like an MVP
through the air. He really did. He created
he was
they were scheming people up. The first third
down, Todd Monkin, they see Highsmith
coming on to pressure.
they flip the back, they're getting a read option look.
They clear Mink out with the number two.
And there's nobody to take the quarterback.
You're like, Todd's cooking, dude.
It's frustrating.
And every time they get over the 50, they would just kind of like,
eh, and Justice Hill has done a great job.
We talked about this being a Justice Hill game
because it was a different challenge compared to last week
where they had to find the vertical seams,
you find the horizontal seams.
They were great.
But the drops were.
terrible, Kyle. And 10 to nothing, the Ravens were driving. Justice Hill, he scored earlier,
but he fumbled. The fumble. But you know what? He didn't, I'm not going to credit him with a
fumble. I'm going to credit Ogon Jovey with a Jalen Carter type. Yeah, it was great. Like you were
talking about last week, they're going to electrify a unit. Yeah. And really jumpstart a defense.
So Ogan Joby, in trail, 10 yards, triple extend, boom, peanut punch. I thought it was the
biggest play in the game. Ravens have a chance to nearly put him away early. And then they flipped
the script. There were some big plays, Kyle, and all of them ended up being in situations like the
one you mentioned, which is like the Ravens are knocking at the door of blowing this thing open.
It's the same thing that happened with the Colts, and they do this stupid shit. You get a,
you get like a million drops. I can count 11 points at least. Obviously, there was the Mark
Andrews drop where you're like, ah. And then there's the Bateman drop where you're like,
ah! Yeah, not me. Because I was like, ah, because I had the stealing. But, but if you're a Ravens fan,
they're excruciating.
And then, you know, like you've got drops later that cost them points.
But even the throw to Zay in the second half where, like, it wasn't quite right on him,
bail your quarterback out, rook.
You know, like, he's turning around, he's falling down.
Like, make a catch.
If you want to be that kind of guy, sometimes you've got to bail him more out.
And so, you talked about the fumble, talk about the pick to end it.
I thought, though, and make no mistake about it,
the defense for the Steelers cannot control what Matt Canada is or isn't.
doing. I don't want their fucking, I don't want the review to be bad for them. I want the review
to be good for the Steelers. The Steelers defense, I want to turn it into a positive. They stood up.
You know, High Smith, 11 pressures. They got that safety on special teams. Ghost rush.
Well, TJ took over, and you talk about in the second quarter, untouched, they're down 10.3.
So if they go down 17.3, 133 at the half, it's bad news. T.J. Watt blows up the reverse.
You got the ghost dip. And then the fourth.
and one, which I thought was really interesting.
They took a shot. Nobody's home.
Harbaugh looks confused on the sideline.
Charles Davis is like maybe they should have took a time out.
The whole thing.
Well, if you take a timeout, you're kind of pot committed to kicking a field goal.
I didn't realize they were just trying to draw them off in real time in the chaos of Sunday slate.
And after the game, Linderbom was saying, didn't get the look we wanted and couldn't get the time out.
Linderbom thought that the free runner was offside, so they tried to snap the ball.
And so that's why they had to burn that play.
So like things like that, that's just how you lose it.
But the Steelers' defense standing up.
And it wasn't just the stars, right?
Atlanta Roberts, big third downstop.
You talk about Joey Porter Jr.'s pick.
Juan Alexander doesn't make that play on the shovel pass.
After that Gunner O'Shefsky fumble Kyle, you know how it is.
And I know how it is to be on defense after something like that.
It's almost like, fuck, we lost.
Now, there's one or two ways you can have, you can have your head screwed on when you go out on that
field. The first way is all fuck we lost.
Second way is I'm going to defend every blade
of grass because you never
fucking know. And that's what
happened. The you never know happened.
Lamar Jackson could make
that throw. You know, like
somebody could fumble the ball.
Kwant Alexander might
make a great tackle on second down to force
third down. And then we survive one more
play and take it away. And I thought the
defense is great there. The Ravens
one fourth quarter first down.
91 yards in the second
half, four sacks, two turnovers compared to 244 in the first half. And Pat Peterson talked about
making some minor adjustments, like playing up a little bit more, a little less zone. It seemed
like no more open holes in the defense was what he said. And that sounds good to me, right?
Whatever you have to do to not have open holes. But I want to shout out, if you're the
Steelers, the sky is falling. Matt Canada is terrible, the whole thing. You know, you're, what,
what are they now? Three and two and three or two and three? Two and three. Two and three.
You're two and three, the whole thing.
But three and two.
Three and two.
Exactly, dude.
So, like, as bad as-
We don't have to meet him at the pumpkin river spot.
Yeah.
As bad as things are, Kyle, they're three and two,
and their young fucking stars are stepping up.
Alex Highsmith has been huge for them this year.
Strip sack yesterday.
Pickens to picket,
as bad as it was at times,
the back shoulder stuff,
the shot at the end of the game,
like this is your next generation of players,
if you believe this team to be worth salvage.
challenging. Jalen Warren. Okay, we'll talk about him in a second. He was huge. Joey Porter Jr. made the
biggest play of his young career. So these are all young guys, your young core. Now, Matt Canada,
let's talk about him, who did not celebrate, as I pointed out. But others pointed out,
some people quietly celebrate. Some people quietly celebrate. Some people go to the two-point conversion.
You know, like some people just stare at the TV. Some people do go straight to the two-point.
But usually these OCs are like, yeah. A little bit. And I was like,
My conspiracy brain was like, well, maybe they fucking, during the first quarter, I was like, maybe they could do a thing.
You know how they go quarterback change and they go to commercial and everybody like cheers or booze and, you know, they show the guy warming up.
I would love it if they do like real time coordinator changes.
Like the guy has to get up, get him out of his chair.
Yeah.
Of course, coaches would be like, that would be really demoralizing.
I'm like, welcome to our world.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Thank you.
You get up.
The whole thing.
Then they go.
Nance is like, oh, let's go to commercial.
You're now a quality control assistant.
Yeah, dude.
Grab his tablet.
Go get the bags.
I thought that was going to happen, Kyle.
Now, it didn't happen because at halftime,
whoever was calling the plays in the second half did a really nice job
relative to expectation because they had 27 plays for 88 in the first half,
41 for 201 in the second half.
And I thought at times they looked too safe early in the game.
Shocker.
But picket sometimes just burning balls on third down without even like trying to go through
progressions and i don't know if it's a thing where he just doesn't like pressure and that's the
elephant in the room or if he's being coached the aggression's being coached out of him but i thought
they weren't aggressive enough early and then picking sacks out of field goal range twice in one
possession ball games like these were the lows but after they changed coordinators maybe i'm
fucking around guys um the only thing they really did different was they ran the ball more on first
down that was the only tendency we found but what they did do was it got jaylon war
going. There was literally a Jalen Warren drive, that third and 10 where I'm like, no, no,
cut it back up inside. The guy found the two inches on the sideline that he could toe tap and
get the first down. Next play, he hurdles somebody. Next play, he's breaking off a chunk of the
rugby. The offense looks better with him in it. And I said this last year, I was like,
I don't know about Najee Harris and how the Steelers fans feel about it. I remember we got some
people that were like, what do you mean? He's been playing really well. I just don't think he adds
same element that Warren does.
And for whatever reason, that could just be a scheme thing.
I'm not saying he's a bad player.
I think knowledge is a good player,
but it's just not working.
And I think I like to see more Warren.
And I'd like to see more pickings in general.
I'll say it every week.
I would take one back shoulder shot at him every fucking possession.
Because every time you do it, for two and a half seconds,
everybody's looking around for flags.
Yeah.
You know, for an offense, it doesn't move the ball.
I would just, I would take the upside.
It's like playing money ball or something,
which I don't fully understand.
and Brad Pitt, one of the guys that hit single.
Just go at the basket.
Can somebody explain Moneyball to me?
Moneyball.
Baseball thing?
Because Brad Pitt just was like,
more guys that hit singles.
All they care about is analytics.
I think money ball is created rather than like home runs, whatever.
So they're trying to get people on the cheap that can just score runs.
Great movie.
Forgot what it meant.
But I wonder what that stat would be for football,
like how I can apply it to my Madden franchise.
Well,
money ball for the Steelers is,
is use George Pickens better.
Yeah.
And it's grown in the ball.
It's,
I saw him give him an end around.
I saw him hit him in the middle of the field.
The guy's a weapon.
And, you know, he needs him and Garrett Wilson, I think even more so him, need help for their careers.
Because I think the ceiling on this kid's career is so fucking high.
And I don't want to see him in a Matt Canada offense the whole time.
And the Joey Porter thing, it's like the training camp video that we saw and the viral reactions we saw was Porter getting beat.
And who's he getting beat by?
George Pickens.
I mean,
welcome to planet Earth.
George Pickens is not from here.
He's from somewhere else.
I'm glad we saw Joey in a better way.
And to your point,
any opportunity you get to take a shot of George Pickens, do it.
Yeah.
If Kenny wants to get rid of the ball and not make reads,
just fucking throw it to George.
And any time you want to take a shot at Matt Canada on our podcast,
it's always a good time.
I think Matt Canada.
Look what Burrow did with Jamar yesterday.
Yeah.
Like, just throw him the ball.
He will be there.
So, nope, listen, as bad as things are in Pittsburgh,
if you woke up Saturday morning a Steelers fan,
you're like, oh, it's going to be terrible.
Yins are going to be depressed and all this stuff.
And fucking actually,
yins are going to be like in it like every year.
Because you've got a fucking high ceiling
because you love these rock fights.
This guy's the Floyd Mayweather of rock fights.
Mike Tomlin.
I mean, he's undefeated.
So the math, math tier.
The middle age war of attrition.
They did.
Yeah.
They're just under siege.
Yeah.
Yeah.
We're going to starve.
It's trench warfare.
And so, yeah, like Mike Tomlin didn't just cover, they won.
And in this, great teams don't just win, they cover.
Yeah.
Great teams don't just cover.
They win the game.
In this situation, they are a great team.
They're a great rock fight team.
Blackout force one.
Speaking of another rock fight, I love rock fights.
And another team that covered.
Another team that covered.
Shout out to you, Matt.
Colts, man.
Listen,
first thing,
full stop, Kyle.
Anthony Richardson,
got to keep him healthy.
Been three games now where he's left,
and they're all unnecessary shit.
I mean, you could say,
hey, we drafted him for the quarterback run game.
Well,
maybe the fact that the guy's been out of two ball games early in this season,
half the games in the season,
you've had to miss time.
4 to 6 now.
Yeah, now it's 4 to 6.
And at first you're like,
Oh, AC spraying, you know, car came back quick.
Murray came back quick.
Take your time.
You've got the world's best backup.
Car's not running the ball to play.
You got Jonathan Taylor back.
They barely had to use yesterday.
But here's the bottom line, Kyle.
This is some stone cold bottom line shit.
They out tightened the Titans.
Remember last year we were like,
are the giants, the new Titans?
I can hear it like yesterday.
Well, for a while, they were the new Titans.
But now they're not.
the fucking Indian Abla's Colts
they felt like the new Titans yesterday
I'll tell you why Kyle they ran for
193 5-7 to carry barely had to use Taylor
they stopped Derek Henry
the moment of the game
fourth and one okay this is a Titans
rock fight moment
mono e mono as Mike Waffle used to say
mono e mono you and me brother
mono e-mono brother
gonna be you and Mike Ayupati
All eyes on, 90.
They're going to run counter.
It's mono-imano.
All right.
So it was mono-imano,
Zaire Franklin,
and Derek Henry.
And are you used to seeing
the Titans getting stuffed
in this situation?
Zaire's a gangster.
Zaire's on Twitter.
He is.
He's a baller.
Bro, he had like 10 tackles.
The whole thing,
he's got a bunch of tackles this year,
but this tackle and just the attitude
from this defense,
yeah, you're going on fourth and one.
Most teams are fucking like,
oh, shit,
I wish they just kicked the field goal.
And that's the 20 to 16 in that situation.
And that's the issue.
Like that whole fourth and one thing, half of it is a mindset thing.
Like you got to have the guys up front like, yeah, you guys are going to go for fourth,
fourth down in one.
We're going to stop you.
Like you got to have that mindset to want to go up.
Hey, and I've been on teams.
Knowing Derek Henry is going to get the ball running downhill.
Like, yo, I don't care.
I'm about to hit him right in his face.
And I know my guys are going to like swarm tackle and we get this stop.
But it's, it's a mindset.
Like, just like you said, like a lot of guys, when you're,
You were after a long drive, you're like, guys, I just hope they just fucking kick it.
Yeah, some guys do quietly.
Yeah, you're like, please, please, let's see the kicker.
And I've been that guy because of the context of the game because I'm like, yeah, we've been getting gash.
And so they were playing well.
They stepped up in that moment.
And this is where they really outtighten him, Kyle.
Matt turned to me because he had the Colts and he's like, maybe they don't give the ball back.
And I'm like, that's going to be really hard.
You know, there's like eight minutes left.
But I'll be damned if they didn't chew up seven minutes.
They out tightens the.
Buddy.
The food pyramid at the bottom for the colds is clock.
They were just eating that shit.
And it took them seven minutes and they fucking ate some timeouts too.
They said, I'll take those.
I'll have a side of timeout.
And you're going to get the ball back with under a minute left with no timeouts or whatever it was.
And Tanna Hill, no shot.
So I thought this was like, now, now it's a tough weekend for the Titans because the Jags beat the best team in football from last week.
I'm doing air quotes for those
who are you still doing audio.
There's two quarterbacks in division
who are probably better than yours
potentially, the upside of these two rookies
who you've been trying to get rid of your quarterback
for a couple years.
And you're used to being the guy
that walks in the room and leans on people.
You're used to being the bully.
Now there's four people in the room,
half the room, bullies.
Now the Colts are like,
now you just can't leave.
Now you can't leave, Mike.
So, and you know what, you know what on top of that, the Colts,
I don't make a mountain out of molehill,
but you can see where this thing's tracking in that division.
It's like, oh, all of a sudden,
AFC South for a while has been one of those things where Titans were like,
we're not that good, but we're going to bully you motherfuckers.
No more bully ball.
No more bully ball, because there's two good rookie quarterbacks in that division now
and another team that's bullying you.
And you know what the tough thing is?
Mike Grable, he's not an offensive guy, right?
I got a ton of respect for them.
their program, I'd love to play for Mike Grable.
But what the Colts have, if they keep this physicality and this mindset, is they have
an offensive boy wonder.
That's a crazy combination.
I'm not calling him a boy wonder.
He's not that young.
He doesn't look like a pencil neck like some of these other guys.
But Spikeman is a fucking, and guys, I know his name's on Spikeman.
I'm just going to call him that the rest of my career.
I'm going to do it too.
Fucking, they have an elite offensive play call it.
That Moss touchdown run, this third and one, they're in spread set, trips left.
kind of see man's up because they're trying to prepare for the little man beaters
and the box gets lightened and they just go Zach Moss for 57 yards or whatever it is
and you also have connected well with your quarterback the future of that you got to keep him
healthy but it's like that um that third and 16 in the second to Campbell corner route beautiful
ball just picking one of them out when when it's obvious that you're getting along with your
quarterback and you're not hurting him. You're actually helping him and the scheme's right and you're
playing physical. Hershey might have done it, dude. He might have set this thing in motion. Now,
they got to keep getting better, but they're way ahead of where people thought. Yeah, and it's
almost an ideal game plan. When Richardson left the game, he was nine for 12 with just about 100 yards,
but they can lean on that running game. You're talking about it. As an offensive lineman,
there's two things I love about running the football. First thing is... Only two?
I think there might be 12.
Two things, but they're very key.
Okay.
If we run the ball at will and keep swinging our acts,
we're probably going to win the game.
Number two, we're going to be home in time
to get maybe a nap.
Oh, yeah, that's true.
Block runs.
I mean, I've been on teams to throw the ball and rely on the past,
and if you're not in sync offensively,
if your quarterback's not in rhythm,
if one of your receivers is down,
if you can lean on an identity as an offense
in running the football,
which is what the Colts are built on
And right now, that'll lead to, to your point, Spikeman being able to layer the football down the field, have Richardson take shots.
And even with Minchu in there, they have a shot.
Keeping Richardson upright, too.
It slows rushes down.
So that approach to keeping him healthy.
Now, if we're talking about the AFC South, we should probably talk about, you know, Houston.
They had a real shot to, I mean, to go on a little run here.
And I'll say this first.
I didn't think, I didn't think Straub played bad.
Okay, like, you know, came out of that game.
I know they manned up a little bit more in the second half.
I know that he saw more aggressive coverage than he's seen.
I know the numbers aren't high popping.
Neither team fucking scored a lot.
This was like a rock fight.
Another rock fight.
Just not as physical and fun as maybe the,
but it was physical because the, the Titans came to play in the run game.
Like Titans were like, hey,
The Titans are,
Titans.
We just did the Texans.
All these fucking AFC South teams.
All these T's.
All these T's.
The Texans came in and they were like,
we're gonna fucking,
they loaded the box,
like people have been doing
against the Falcons all year long,
24 times that Atlanta ran into loaded boxes.
Okay.
So,
Texans came out.
The first play, Gronard,
jacking up a tight end,
screaming like,
that first play,
you can tell
what's been talked about all week in that mean room.
Like the way they reacted to the very first couple of plays,
they were flying downhill, hitting motherfuckers,
and I was like, yeah, they're ready for this run game.
But they're also deciding that, hey, if Ritter can beat us,
so be it.
And he did.
And I thought this was Ritter's best game of the season.
You can live with this.
Now, I don't think you want to live with being down 12-7
with four minutes ago in third quarter.
So that might tell you something, but I thought this was his best game.
And, you know, the big difference for me was play action.
Immediately, I turned this tape on because I didn't watch it as close than 1 p.m.'s.
I turned it on afterwards and we're standing around and guys are like, this was the Ritter game.
He played well.
So I go into watching the tape and I'm expecting, I don't know what I'm expecting.
But it became apparent to me early that they decided to stick to play action and get
something out of this week. We talked about last week how they haven't been good there.
Okay. On the year going in, he was 18 for 37, 208 and a 63 rating and play action.
And you talk about how much that leaves on the table for you, being in that Arthur Smith
offense with a great running game that's still running the box at times effectively into
heavy boxes all year long. You've got to be able to hit this. He was nine for 10 for 147,
seven first downs.
I thought he looked really good
throwing the ball and play action.
And I think Ritter looks good
when you spread things out.
When you go five wide,
give him the college stuff.
So like it's kind of either or for me.
And I thought this was his best game.
He found Pits.
They were probably a lot better
on first and second down.
The numbers probably bear that out.
Time possession, 35 minutes.
And Ritter's hard count
is a fucking weapon now.
Yeah.
Okay?
He's like,
he's got an Aaron Rogers
thing going on there in the voice box yeah it's a weapon he got guys off sides a bunch but again
you played your best game and this team's up 12 7 with four minutes ago in the third quarter
houston's got the ball Houston had a chance to win this game you know i thought the run game on the
road really hindered them Titus howard coming back tonsill coming back i figured they're just going to
run the ball right they ran into a lot of light boxes and they did not fit up well every run
play it's like they're letting the backside guy in there or you know the wide receiver passes up a shot at
you know hitting a linebacker goes to the safety yeah i just there were a lot of like little miscues and
it was on yamada dupree especially dupree was just he was a rolling ball of butcher knives
on the edge and then campbell campbell was playing some end we talked about that jarritt creating big
negatives kaden ellis played well but the falcons just stopped the run with a fucking light
box. And for Damien Pierce and this offense, you get on the road and you've got a young
quarterback, you can't leave that off the menu. And I know it wasn't off the menu, but the way
you were, you were fitting things up, it just took so long that you're going. That last drive
at the end of the game where they left actually rid of too much time, they ran the ball well,
finally. They were getting the run game going. And I think they were, they, I think if you're
looking at Houston, you look at that drive and say, hey, guys, the offense, we stepped up when we
had to. We won the game. The defense didn't fall through. Now you want to turn them against the defense,
but the point I'm making is like, keep their confidence. We know we got to do simple shit in the
run game. Like, they're simple things. It's like one block. You know how it is. Oh, you go in the
meeting room on Monday. You're like, Kyle, it's there. It's one guy. They got the pointer. And there's
like all this grass. And to your point, it's not always the offensive line. It's not always the
running behind in the wrong hole. But it's a tight end who's not sustaining a block or whiffing or
or not in communication with the tackle,
when there is a motion and now the defense shifts.
There's so many intricacies, subtleties in the run game
that make it successful.
The answer, the question has been answered
to quarterback in Houston.
I love the guy.
But now if you want to be a complete,
if you want to be a complete football team,
you need to be able to dial in the details
in the run game because that's a part of this league as well.
And it's also running back.
Particularly against a light box.
Running back who fucking went off last year.
And you want to see,
it's disrespect.
You thought you'd be able to hang your hat.
on the offensive line, Kyle.
I thought, everybody thought, right?
You thought you'd be able to hang your hat on the run game.
You bring Titus Howard back.
You play him at guard next to a backup center.
Like, I'm not really sure.
So that's the thing for me is like they got to get this run game going.
First and foremost, if they can do that,
it's going to unlock a lot of stuff for them.
And for Houston, or for Atlanta, rather,
they have the run game going.
They have to, through the air,
they have to lighten some of these boxes.
Ritter has to prove, like he did yesterday,
that I can hurt you.
And hats off to him because he did hurt
them, especially in play action, and you got to give Bijon some more space to run through.
So this was an ugly game, but one that's relevant. I think both these teams will be at the
end of the season in the conversation of, like, being in the playoffs. You know, Atlanta,
they probably think they can win the division. So like every game matters here. Okay,
I'll be pretty quick on Jets, Broncos, but I'm happy for him. I really am. I can't help it.
I mean like within our fraternity, you don't do that.
And to be able to respond like that was good closure.
And you're talking about the Sean Payton comments.
And that was the reason this game was a big game, you know,
not only because I'm really into when a team's backs against the wall
because you know how intense that situation can be.
If they lost this game, you're kind of like, oh, I'm out of the east.
Like we're probably trying to figure out something new.
I'm out of the east.
I'm out on our quarterback.
I'm out of everything.
Yeah.
I'm out on Hackett.
And this is the reason I thought, Kyle,
I don't know if you picked this up,
but last week,
last week at the end of that game,
Jack Wilson is over on the sideline,
like, I lost this the game.
And I don't think he's saying that to get a pat on the back.
I just think he really felt that way.
And he's probably right.
It's harsh.
He played well.
He outplayed Patrick Mahomes,
but you can still lose the game
by not doing the things you're supposed to do,
taking a snap.
You can beat Patrick Mahomes and still lose.
Yeah, it's a Trent Doeferism or something.
You can beat Patrick Mahomes in this league and still lose games.
True.
I'm headed to UAB.
So, um, yell at some kids.
Yeah, so, oh God, he is yelling at kids.
Awful.
You're yelling me like that.
If I'm a UAB kid.
Snatch, snatch him up.
He's a big quarterback.
Ooh, nah.
He's a big quarterback.
Go share!
But he's no Chris Winky.
Chris Winky was 6'6.
About three hondo.
And 28.
Yeah, Chris Winky can talk to me sideways.
But anyway.
Anyways, we're talking about the Jets.
At the end of that game, Zach Wilson,
getting the love from his teammates.
And he's like, yeah, fuck that up.
And they're like, it's all right, man.
Like body language, Kyle, we talk about body language.
Huge.
As soon as that game ended, what I tell you all,
I'm betting the Jets next week.
All the sharps were on Denver, the whole thing.
Now, I don't want to talk like I was great yesterday.
I took a beating at some stretches of the day.
But the Jets, to me, made sense because this team was not giving up.
You could tell, like, and they were still behind Zach.
As much as they could be, they're being pros about it.
And then coming in this game,
Uzama breaking down the huddle,
fuck Payton,
fuck them,
we're doing this for hacking.
It was personal.
The two guys that are really embattled this year
that from the outside looking in,
you're like,
the whole building hates these guys.
You know, Hackett,
they just hate them from last year.
Like, we get so caught up
and thinking, like, people on the internet,
guys ride for each other.
And I think the Jets could have done one or two things.
The defense, the guys on offense,
they could have gotten disenchanted with the whole situation
and been like,
fuck this. We're now the
crows. Everybody else
the Eagles. You told us we were supposed to be Eagles
coach. Yep. We're the crows.
It's supposed to fly high. There's no oxygen. I can't fly this high.
Yeah. Well, they
rallied together. They went on the road. They dened them in the run game.
And I thought Zach Wilson played better as the game
went on. The pick was a bad throw, but probably just more
a great play by Sartan.
And, you know, you live to fight another day.
And so supporting those,
two guys to me was a big sign that this team's not done. You were saying throw pickings the ball.
Just hand bruce all the football. Yeah. Let that moth skunker go. No more for football.
Let that monskunker go. Yeah. If he makes one guy miss, he's gone. He's fast. They got to keep
winning for the script because the script has Aaron Rogers coming back for a game this season. Wow.
So the jets. I was sure about the script. I don't look at those emails. So the Jets got to keep
winning for that to happen. Yeah, I don't want short you read. You want to complain about the
Broncos for a few, please.
Yeah, it's just a bummer.
Especially when you look back at this season,
we've lost to what, three former head coaches,
a former defensive coordinator,
and a former ball boy of the Denver Broncos.
So a bunch of, a bunch of elves.
That's bad.
Also, the McDaniel thing, like,
I guess he tried to get on that staff,
and they're like, nah.
Yeah, we didn't even take,
we didn't give a head coaching interview.
So, so.
And you look at, like,
we didn't even give Kyle Shanahan an interview.
Sure.
He was, like, out of the building before he should have offered him a contract right there.
You look at all the misses of the last, you know, hiring Vince Joseph as a head coach, missed that.
Brought him back as DC.
Boy, did we miss that.
Hopefully he can turn it around.
Elway?
Who's in front of it?
Elway is making some decisions.
But also, he's got beat with Elway.
Yeah, man.
You know, Elway gave me.
You would say this one's for John?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Patent.
Patton and Payton.
And so, and so, like, you.
you know, Vance Joseph,
fucking, you go to Miami,
give up 70 points.
Like, that's as bad as it gets, right?
Well, no, giving up 200 on the,
on the ground at home.
You know, like, that's an ugly deal.
And I just wonder how hot the temperature is in there.
And like, who's Sean going to blame for this one?
Because it's just been.
Do you see him yelling at Russell?
Oh, brutal.
I mean, brutal.
You think of our game.
So Zach Wilson posts his highest completion percentage of the year.
Justin Fields, the week before,
had nearly a.
perfect half.
You know, completion percentage-wise.
Week before, dolphins.
Yeah.
Week two, Sam Howell looks like a top five quarterback.
And the first week, Jimmy G., we let them walk all over us.
Damn.
So that's how I feel.
Had to feel good for those guys and probably a best flight candidate when we get there
in a couple.
My dad always told me if you can't defend yourself, you shouldn't be out there on the field.
By the looks at it should be like pets or tan out.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, he was talking about injuries, but yeah.
Yeah, yeah, I got it.
Fucking, the Patriots are bad.
Okay, I just want to say this as plainly and as casually as I can
because we're not going to break down that game.
Kudos to the Saints, man, coming in there and kicking their ass.
And honestly, you've been waiting for the offense to look like this.
Yep.
Now, take it with a grain of salt.
But how do we go from like a month ago?
And I thought when I said this,
they might be the best O and two team in the league.
Playoff.
They played the Eagles tough, right?
Like you walk out of that game and you're like,
hey, Pat's are tough out.
They played the Dolphins tough.
You walk out of the game,
pads are tough out.
Like you saw Mac Jones do some things over the first two weeks this season.
You're like, okay, that's better than last year.
And now it looks like last year on steroids, Kyle.
And if you look at New England,
I was going to,
I was going to make a play on this game,
or I was listening to some people talking.
And I know y'all don't like hearing about gambling all the time,
but it's relevant here.
When you bet the Patriots, people throw a lot of stuff at you.
They're like, Bill, in this spot.
Bill, the Patriots in this spot, at home, low total, the whole thing.
Bill in a game where the line's like this close and they're a dog, all that shit.
And I'm listening along and I'm like, yeah, it sounds pretty good.
And I'm like, hold on a minute, player.
Fucking whole thing's changed.
You know, that whole sample.
size, everything they've built, everything the Patriots have built, has been with Tom Brady and Bill
there. And it's been with people taking pay cuts to go play there. It's been with them playing
complimentary football. It's been with them doing things right. And so you can kind of throw that
out the window. And it also goes to show you how it seems like there's no common thread between
that era and this era, even though Bill's right there. Like, I know the roster,
sucks. I know Bill's had a hand in that. I know the groups had a hand in that. I know the receivers,
the offensive line are hamstringing them. I know that this stuff happens over time. If you're a
Pat's fan, you can point to every draft pick, every fucking signing and be like, this has been
going on for years. But you've been able to get away with it at times. And you can't get away with
it now. And the team should, even as bad as the roster is, the team should not be this bad.
And so if I'm being honest, I do think you need, like Bill's got to do a better job in this situation.
Like, and he would tell you that.
Layup line starting over, Chris Stapleson, I don't know if we can play it on a live show,
but it would be starting over because after the game, they were like, Bill, what are you going to do?
And he's like, start over.
If I'm going to interject here, if I may.
Yeah.
I loved everything you said, by the way.
Yeah, I'm serious.
I'm serious.
I believe the same things about the page.
But you look at the success they had early.
You talked about looking competitive in the first quarter of the season.
Yeah.
At the very least, competitive, right?
And prepared and effective on both sides of the ball.
Yeah.
When you go through OTAs, when you go through the off season, it's a four-week process.
Andy Reed, Matt Nagy, a lot of the coaches I played for each of those weeks were designated as, okay, this is our week one opponent.
So in practice, we're going to see these looks.
We're going to implement these route trees.
and that kind of thing.
They're through that part of the season.
Now we're seeing a non-offseason prepared game plan.
Yeah.
Moving forward.
They're going to have to think on their feet.
And they're going to be off-script.
And I don't think it bodes well for the Patriots at all.
Well, it sucks because you're like,
nobody wants to say, hey, Bill, do a better job.
Because he's, in my opinion, the goat.
And you never think about, you never think about,
like with players, obviously Brady being the goat,
like when there was a drop in production.
you're like, get him out of here.
But for coach, it's not like you got slower.
It's not like I'm looking at his ankle mobility or flexion or.
He might have become more opinionated, stronger in his opinion.
He's still Bill Belichick.
It's in there.
So like what's going on?
Because this is a poorly coach team.
He would tell you that.
They're playing like they're poorly coach.
The players can't be that bad because you don't see stuff like this often.
I mean, two worst losses of his career.
One on the road, one at home.
My conspiracy brain got going, Colin, just know I don't mean any of this because people are going to be like, Chris said this.
Well, first, I was like, these motherfuckers are tanking for Kayla.
Yeah.
Okay.
Second, I was like, maybe Bill doesn't want to be there.
And he doesn't want to just say I quit this, this job that I've had for 25 years.
You got to fire me.
I was like, maybe there's a place that Bill wants the coach later in life, you know?
Or maybe he's just done.
Yeah.
And he doesn't have it in him too.
quick because he's not a quitter.
This is terrible.
I don't know, man. And I love Bill
and I respect the paths, but
I don't know how we got here.
I mean, I know how we got here. If he is drafting
or if he is tanking to draft
Caleb Williams, I mean. I fully
support. Wow. Fully support,
Kyle. Bill.
Fully support. I'm in. Okay, but you
chasing that record. Mortimer, we're
back. On the Patriots, there
have been 154 offensive performances
this season. The Patriots, the
the last two games have ranked 152nd and 153rd in terms of EPA per drive.
It's brutal, Kyle, Kyle, Kyle, it's brutal and it's not just, Kyle, the history,
you talk about the history of like, oh, you bet the Patriots in the spot.
Well, historically, they were good on special teams.
They're bad now.
Historically, I don't turn the ball over.
They turn the ball over now.
Historically, not penalized a lot.
Middle of the road penalties now.
So, like, all these things even that you're just like, but we're okay at that.
We're not terrible at it.
You can't even afford to be okay at that.
Like you got to be great not getting flags.
You've got to be great.
Or be bad at it.
You got to be great later.
In the red zone.
Like they got to find,
they always talk about situational football.
They're failing all of it.
The Patriot Way is not coming through at all.
That's what I'm saying.
So you look at a couple teams.
Kyle,
like you talk about the growing pains of some of the greatest coaches in the game.
Right now,
I think McCarthy's growing a little bit.
I'm not saying he's one of the greatest coach in the game.
You know,
he had like his worst loss last night.
Mike Tomlin's trying to,
figure this thing out but he's three and two right everybody wants mike tomlin fired he's three and two
even with his weird way of doing it the steelers culture seems to have like survive turnover better than
the pat's culture more durable somehow because it's less ambitious maybe they can still call on that black
air force one game whereas you can't be like let's dial up a real patriots game i don't know dude but the
the culture seems to be less less permanent in new
England than it is in Pittsburgh. Now eventually Mike Tomlin's going to die of old age or something.
Two of their biggest guys. You know, like 40 years from now, hopefully 50.
Two of the biggest playmakers on the defense are out. Yeah. No, and that, and that's what,
that's the straw that broke the camel's back. We'll be okay. We've got Judon. You know,
Christian's out. Christian Gonzalez, he's out. But we've got Judeon, you know, the, what is it,
a bicep. I mean, that thing probably popped on them and straw. That was a straw, cowl.
Camel's like, yeah, one more straw.
Because Judon's strong. That's a strong.
man, you can at least make some play.
You ever think about that saying?
Yeah.
The camel ever break its back?
The last straw.
Yeah, I guess I never really thought about it.
The straw that broke the camel's back.
Yeah, throw another one on.
It's amazing the legs don't break first.
The straw that broke the camel's legs.
I can handle Gonzales on IR.
Oh, Jude on.
I can't walk anymore, dude.
You know, you're not getting the same production.
You're not getting the same Stevenson.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's, they're not running the ball.
I don't want to spend any more time on the Pats.
Okay, let's finish with the uglies, but first a game time ad read.

talk at you for a while once you know that I still see you here I'm actually gonna
open a fucking I'm gonna open the YouTube to see what it looks like I want to be like you
chat it up you know I'm the most surprised
thing you guys saw from the Sunday slate of games. Put it in the YouTube. Yeah, put it in.
I thought you were asking me. I was like, Kyle, I wasn't prepared for that segment.
Well, there was one question, and that can probably lead into some of these ugly games, but
we had a commenter asked, do you guys believe the lions are good enough to sustain the success
with the injuries that are starting to add up if you didn't see Emmanuel Mosley out for the year?
Yeah, I saw that Emmanuel Mosley torn ACL just broke. Look, the lions are built to weather the storm,
And it starts from the top and it starts with the culture.
It's what the Patriots are lacking.
You know, good players and a culture.
And the Lions have that right now.
They've got guys who can win on the edge.
They have a commitment to the running game.
Jared Goff isn't going to lose you football games.
And I think he's playing above expectation.
And a coach that's hyped up on caffeine.
Yeah.
Coach is jacked up.
I mean, they go for it.
They run gadgets, special teams, plays.
That's why they're on the America's team list almost every week.
So I think they can sustain it.
I'm not proud to admit this, Kyle.
But I did bet the fucking Panthers yesterday.
Because like a slate like yesterday, I'm like,
oh, I'm just going to play the math.
85% of tickets are in the line.
So, like, Vegas is not expecting to take a beating like they took yesterday.
On this game.
And, you know, like, good teams win, great teams cover.
This is what I'm talking about.
This is what people are talking about.
I know it's like a funny saying.
I really do think there's something to it when you're supposed to be an elite team
and you have a test like this, especially a week after you beat Packers at Lambo.
Are they immune to let down games?
Are they like just ultra-focused?
I think they are.
Somebody asked me if the Lions are Super Bowl contenders.
I don't think so.
I don't mean to be so flat.
No, but they'll make noise.
Could they win a Super Bowl?
Fuck yeah.
Like, are they in that fringe?
They're tough out for a potential Super Bowl winner.
I put them in the Cowboys category.
I think they're above the Cowboys.
I put them in the Cowboys category,
and people think the Cowboys are an elite team.
Here are the teams to me that, like,
you know, it's like the Eagles, the Niners,
the Chiefs, the, you know,
like throwing a couple of AFC teams there.
The right version of the Bills.
The right version of the Dolphins,
the right version of the Bills.
But I don't, I,
the Lions, to me,
they're like a playmaker away
and maybe they make a move at,
at the deadline.
We talked about this yesterday.
I just, I don't know.
And some people are like, they beat the chiefs at Arrowhead.
I know.
Lions or Jags?
I like the Lions because of that run game.
Okay.
But, you know, when, when you, so I don't want to put my foot in my mouth here,
but like not Super Bowl contenders, I just need to see more.
Everything I'm seeing so far is awesome.
I'll be smiling the whole time.
I'll be smiling the whole time.
Love the Lions.
Are they there yet where I'm like, oh, this is the, the bills in full speed?
Not quite yet.
But I want to, and Jared Goff is part of the reason.
Okay.
They're like golf has done everything they've asked them to do.
But I just think when things get tight and like you're playing golf in the homes,
he won that one, right?
But, you know, when you're going to play some of the really elite quarterbacks down the stretch,
like I want to, I just want to see more.
But I thought this was great.
This was great from them to take care of business like this after a big emotional win like that.
It was huge.
And I don't know.
They're not built to sustain a heavyweight fight against the Niners.
They're not, you know, built to sustain that sort of off.
offensive onsla.
But what Nate said, they can't run the ball.
And that does keep them in.
So maybe I'm talking myself into him as a contender.
But I think at the very least, they're a division winner.
They can win playoff games.
Would I trust them in the Super Bowl against, you know, like an AFC elite or in the
NFC championship going to Philly or going to San Francisco?
No.
But they're fucking really good.
Okay.
So congratulations the Lions, taking care of business.
And Hutch had another huge game.
A bunch of pressures.
Hey, listen.
The sack.
Great.
You know, like get chip protection.
You spin back into, he's patting the ball.
You got some dances.
You know, the picks are great.
But what I like the most about Hutch is he's constantly getting pressure.
So like, you can pick out those couple plays.
It always drives me crazy.
People like, this guy had a big game.
And you watch the top end plays.
He had a big game because he's consistently pressuring people.
That's like Crosby.
The gas pedal has never lifted off the floorboard.
Yeah.
And the guy on the offensive line fields, just like a D-Lignment
is run heavy.
offense it's like one of these plays I'm gonna break and and that's the whole thing
it's just it's just spraying and trying to get as many opportunities possible
and then it's out of your control ball gets padded whatever but like hutch is
always there when it does because he's constantly trying to win he's constantly
scratching clawing he's never getting just stoned blocked okay I talk on the
break jump thing for a minute yeah I know that the offense and Josh McCown is a guy
that I really trust who's in that building and working with within Bryce Young's ears.
They're trying to simplify that offense, and I don't mean that as a knock on Bryce Young at all.
But if you take a look at what Justin Fields was able to implement last week with the game plan,
Luke Getsy gave him a lot of two receiver opportunities.
And Greg Olson talked about it on the broadcast.
Look, when you've got two receivers out there, it's less to look at for a quarterback.
You have more confidence that you're either going to make the right decision or check it down.
and if you're not making the right decision,
or when you have two options at receiver,
you have a lot more protection.
So you're going to feel safer back there.
Bryce Young didn't look great again yesterday,
but I like the game plan of less options on the edge,
more protection, give Bryce Young less to look at.
Yeah, no, I mean, and you run the risk of, you know,
some of those routes that get bogged down
if you run two, three men out in the route,
two men out in the route, you might have to pat it longer.
But I think more than anything,
the offensive line has to get cleaned up, Kyle.
Yeah. You know, like they've just had trouble sorting pressure and that sort of thing.
I got to go back through that game and see if there was any improvement.
But, you know, like, we're spending too much time on this game.
Let's get through the rest of the uglies.
These are uglies, you know?
Fuck, what do they expect?
Cincinnati.
Yeah, it wasn't ugly if you were Cincinnati fan because...
The boys are back.
I don't know if they're back because I don't want to do this whole, like, week four.
I go on Eisen.
Joe Burrow and Jamar Chase are feeling it.
They're vibing.
The chemistry's there.
But it's so easy doing this.
Like I go on Rich's show and Rich is like,
and Chris,
what do you think about the Bengals?
Are they just, you know,
it's like the whole tone.
The Bengals get brought up all week.
It's like somebody died, you know?
They've been bad at the beginning of every season.
I feel like it might be different this year.
I do think that, especially on defense,
like there's some things that change that when the bright lights are hot,
like I kind of worry about that defense.
but I think the things that they're not going to have a shot if Joe's hurt.
Like, you know, not even going to have a shot.
The things that I get excited about are turning that game on,
seeing those two throws in the red zone where he's buying time,
throwing across his body.
Jabar's getting chased by three dbs across the headline.
It still goes for 195 yards.
He's still open.
But it's all those throws he's buying time.
It's like, I'm healthy.
I'm willing to move.
And probably the play I got most excited about in the whole fucking game was he took off for 12 yards and got a first down got up did the
It was excited about it was excited about it
You know like fuck I had to run so something is getting better with his calf
I mean it's very clear to me and I don't know if it's one of those things where they said Joe you're literally not gonna scramble for three weeks
You want to play you can't leave the pocket because he kind of looked like that at times
He was just back there like a lawn deer he was just getting buddy lead back there in the in the pocket
He wasn't moving.
And, you know, like the route concepts, like the receiver play Higgins, he was down and everything.
You could point to a bunch of stuff.
But I think if Joe's not right, this offense is always going to look a little off.
And so him looking right, that was big for me.
And, you know, they dominated time of possession.
Talked about the defense.
They're still missing some people from last year, but a step in the right direction for Centsy.
Okay.
I'm not going to keep.
kill him and I'm not going to crown them.
You want me to crown them? I'm not going to crown them. They got to do this more.
But there were the signs of a team that's showing life. Okay. Miami and the Giants.
Talk about it. Here's all I'll say. The Giants did what they could to stay in this game.
You know, like I always talk about when you play the dolphins, that offense is a machine.
Okay. They weren't even like doing anything special in the beginning of the game.
And they were just fucking, it was like 70 yards, six plays, whatever.
where the runs are explosive.
You get a little quick game out of the outside,
bunch of yak.
There are games where Tua's played great.
This was a game where he just was okay.
And they're still good enough to score 31 points
and almost run these guys out of the gym.
You know, like they're up 14-3 at the half.
About to put it away.
And you throw that pick.
Hinnock with the Rinnock.
Yeah, the Rinnock.
Like that, yeah.
Yeah.
So I love if you're the Giants saying,
hey, we're going to take advantage of the couple balls he throws us,
and we're going to try to stay in this game.
They almost covered.
But everybody knew it was going to happen in this game.
Like the dolphins are supposed to roll on these guys.
Daniel Jones got sacked seven times.
A chain's been, is it A chain or A Chan?
Okay, because, you know, he, he, like, changed it.
Are the Giants the team that,
are they the team that's just going to get beat up and make fun of every week?
Yeah, dude.
Are they going to get.
Are they going to be the, and it's not just,
because of what market they're in.
I know that they're, you know, all that stuff.
But situationally, the contract at the quarterback position.
Oh, it's tough.
The protection that hasn't been prioritized.
There's a lot there to be looked at.
Are they the team that's just going to get, are they the new bears?
Well, I don't know.
They're the homecoming team.
Huh?
They're the NFL homecoming team right now.
That's who you schedule for homecoming.
Fuck me.
It's either them or Minnesota Vikings.
Yeah.
Like, so you.
You used to be Western Michigan.
Now it's the giant.
Last year I was a Daniel Jones guy.
No, I was too.
Things changed quickly and this league.
But now it's like kind of, you know, now the suits are kind of creepy.
I think the Giants just go to show you, man.
Like, like you can't assume that because you're good one year, you're just going to keep getting better.
Like in the NFL, growth is such an aggressive process.
I don't think they were aggressive enough.
And the thing that they were most aggressive doing was paying Daniel Jones.
and like
we've talked about this on this pot ad nauseum
but like fucking
Daniel Jones is not the guy that you're just like
out set it and forget it let's pay him
140 and then fucking
that's Mahomes
Mahomes in Kansas City doing that
as long as I got Kelsey
fucking Rishie Rice
whoever everybody plug him in
yeah plug him in guy that's mad at the ground
out of Rutgers in the sixth round
like whatever
like we'll just make it work
tackle who's fucking he's early every play
Run it behind the angriest guard in the league
With the angriest running back in the league
But but but but you know
Like Sequin and a quarterback who needs pieces around him
It's not enough and you know
I just don't think you can take growth for granted
And they did that this off scene
Oh we're bringing Waller
Cool
Have you seen him lately
So I feel bad for the Giants
But they've kind of done it to themselves
And then the dolphins are just a high floor
machine offensively. And if you've got a team like Giants, you can't keep up. And you know what?
Apparently the dolphins are going to use Chase Claypool to tight end position. Yeah. No, that's a fast
tight end. McDaniel says he's fast. Yeah, he has got that speed. He is fast. Fast to get
tight in. Let's hear about Miller late before our Miller late moments. Oh yeah, let's do it. I can tell you
all about him. Whatever you're looking for this football season, there's one thing that pairs well
with every great moment, a nice cold Miller light. Whether you're at the state,
playing fantasy football or watching the game at home or at the bar, Miller Light is here to make your football season taste like Miller time.
From kickoff to the clock runs out.
You can't go wrong with a Miller light in your hand.
It's the only light beer with it tastes worthy of our national obsession.
That's football.
Because what's the point of having a beer if it doesn't taste like, well, beer.
Kyle, when I go to Dirty Nellies, you know, they got my Miller light poured right there for me.
Ready.
Yeah, it's ready. I sit down, I watch a tiny TV in the corner, and I'm so thankful that it's Miller time. I'm glad that Dirty Nellie's nose my favorite beer. It's got only 96 calories and 3.2 carbs for 12 ounce serving with a smooth taste. Who's count not me? With a smooth taste and a crisp, clean finish. You get the taste you crave without the calories. So this season, crack open a light beer that hits your taste buds so hard, Kyle. You feel it in your heart. Make it Miller time all season long. Get Miller light.
delivered right to your door, visit millerlight.com slash green light, or you can find it pretty much
anywhere that sells beer. Celebrate responsibly Miller Brewing Company, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 96
calories and 3.2 cars for 12 ounces. Hell year, brother. Miller light moments. What do you tell
like mentions or moments, whatever you want to call them. Oh, it's good to say that. It was good to say
that. Hey, Kyle, I'm just going to start off with a, with a two-pack, two-pack, like a two-pack of Miller
light.
Side by side.
If they're little two packs.
All right.
Best flight, worst flight.
Yep.
Best flight.
Honestly,
was thinking about Chase Claypool,
but I think,
yeah,
Playpool is probably the best flight.
Worst flight,
J.C. Jackson.
I'm going to say best flight,
Trevor Lawrence.
Okay.
Worst flight.
Stefan Diggs.
I feel like it takes Stefan Diggs a long time to calm down.
Yeah, probably, probably is probably a whole process.
But it's a good place to house like a Marvel character who is a bit angry at times.
Put him in a tube, put him at 30,000 feet and get it in like a uranium.
Get him a continent away.
Yeah, like they're probably on the way back from that game.
They had to drive him around London.
No, they had him in the back like Hannibal.
Like Hannibal.
He's in a straight jacket.
They just have the iPad in front of his face.
And I'm saying this with all due respect because he's crazy.
He's crazy about football.
I want to play.
I would want to play.
play with step on but i imagine he's got to calm down okay so so actually i actually want to give the
best flight to randy gregory also and the worst flight to j c jackson because i like where your
heads at for these so j c jackson he's like fuck i'm rotten here they're not using me my career's going
south uh but like i'm doing rollerblading on the on the boardwalk and shit like there's beautiful
women it's it's 75 every day i'm living in the wales vagina it's a beach a
You know, I'm down there in San Diego.
But it's terrible.
Not San Diego, L.A.
It's terrible.
Somebody come get me.
Please.
No.
Not Bill.
You're like, please don't make me fly back to New England north of the wall.
It's not even like, it's north of the wall.
And it's winter.
And there's nothing going on there.
Winter's coming in.
Like, like, it's there is bad.
The last time I was here, we were like Super Bowl champs.
Like things were good and Bill's going to come to the rescue.
That's not a rescue.
That's not a search and rescue.
It's a kidnapping.
You're like Apple Watch, what's your emergency?
Getting this white van.
Get in the car.
I was in L.A.
At least I could enjoy my life.
But if your theory is right, maybe Bill got to get people in there that he trusts if he's trying to rock the boat.
Devin McCordy, keep your phone on.
That meme.
Yeah, oh yeah
Yeah, Dev's like, hey,
Jason, I got to go.
Can you take the rest of the show?
Yeah.
I am so fired up.
I'm so fired up
about the next mention,
which is the Bevel Conway.
Yep.
Okay, Reed,
congratulations to your Denver Broncos.
They have won something.
Wow.
I don't know why more teams
don't go with the white helmet.
I mean,
it looks so fucking good.
Clean is shit.
It's incredible.
They took a picture.
It was out there on the snow,
just sitting on the snow
with the Aspins.
Yeah.
Gorgeous.
Jeff's kiss.
The big DMA side.
Their social media team
definitely has an advantage
with their natural backdrop.
Every picture is cool.
They can take a 30-minute drive
into the, you know.
Yeah.
The evergreens or the pines,
the aspen pines,
whatever the fuck they've got up there.
Aspen pines.
Whatever the hell it is.
So,
they got that gas.
Double Conway.
My Bevel Conway.
Mike Tarrico said it last night, we're going to see a real football game.
Uh-huh.
This is a real football game.
And my mind immediately went, well, that's disrespectful to all the other football games, Mike.
But San Francisco hosting Dallas coming to town, those two iconic jerseys and franchises,
my God, it was a sight for sore eyes.
It was beautiful.
It was a travel day and a work day for me.
You get to sit down and watch Levi's Stadium lit up in prime time.
Dungey said it felt like a playoff game and it really did.
Dunjy said that pregame, it really felt watching at home like a playoff game.
Good to know how the Cowboys are going to play in a big spot.
We knew this.
They are who we thought they were.
We didn't even talk about DAC.
I don't want to rock the boat, but I kind of feel this way with quarterbacks.
If you can't win me a Super Bowl with the pieces around the quarterback,
I'm not saying he's not a good player.
I'm not saying he's not a good quarterback.
I have been really positive about Dak.
But at some point, this experiment's got to end.
And it's nothing personal because I think Dax done everything right.
He's, he's entered that community.
He's been loved.
Like, his teammates love him.
He's a competitor.
They just, like, with all the weapons they have, they have, I'm not putting last night
squarely on deck, but over an eight-year sample size, like, you can't say the team's been
the problem there.
Yeah, eventually that defense wears out when they see that their offense is going
three and out.
And they've had really good players.
So, anyway.
You guys got a hollow man?
Yeah, I got a hollow man.
You got a hollam man?
Sean Payton.
Yeah, it's Sean Payton, man.
And you saw Nathaniel Hackett over there, and I'm talking about hacking in a little bit,
but the entire team, you alluded to it earlier, they came there with an agenda.
It's like, let's make this motherfucker pay.
Hey, talking about our guy.
At the end of the game.
Russell, you're hot to the back.
At the end of the game, get ready for the handshake or no handshake.
Sean Payton over there.
was beady little eyes looking around like what if I got to do
classic move by Sala to say stay healthy and I know some people say
stay humble is what Sala said that's what they mouth read but those are mouth
he said stay healthy to who he said when they ran out and shook hands
it was a brief they always got class he's a classy dude if I was shown Peyton here's
what I would have done I would have ran over to Hackett and apologize on national TV
it would have done numbers for his egg holes his likeability race
group but also it's just the right thing to do i'm sure he feels bad about what he said he was on fox
dude like thing about shan i like sean i like sean's been on the show sean's the man he's a great
guy we've hung out with him yeah sean's fucking cool i didn't like when i played because i felt like he
ran the score up on us but i also i'm not anti run the score up because you know we're we're grown
men you got it why not you got it flaunt it but sean i think was like he caught himself being
on the set but he wasn't on the set anymore he was just talking football and he put his foot in his
mouth. Now, I would have liked the yesterday if he'd have ran over and...
Would have been cool. Hackett was ready, by the way. Hackett was over there. Hackett was ready
to go get drunk on that. Do you mind if I go to fly on the wall here? Yeah, because this leads
into my next one. I would have loved to have been in that group of Jets players around Hackett
at the end of the game when there was a multitude of F bombs, but they were happy F bombs.
Yeah. It was like LFGs and all that kind of stuff. And there were some other Fs. I would have loved
to have been there to hear all of them. Hear all of what he said. They were doing a really good job of
covering their you know they're talking sometimes and now with the mic booms and that sort of thing
i fred warner and and uh somebody else were talking at the end of the game and they had them they
didn't see it but the squirrels right up here got to be careful you got to be careful so uh fly on the
wall i don't really oh fly on the wall did tua did claypool really walk over toa at the end of the
game last year whenever it was remember they played in primetime and said let's play after that game
like come get me because now people are making a big deal about that thing
kind of wonder.
That stuff happens, though.
I mean, if you're on a bad team and you're not blind allegiance to them,
yeah, as fans would assume we all are.
I should have said, come get me a lot more.
Right.
I never said that.
I didn't know that was on the menu.
It probably would trigger a lot of things.
Like, hey, dog.
Hey, come get me.
Come get me.
And then that person, you tell them, all they got to do is, hey, you ever thought about
getting this guy?
And, hey, hey, hey, Tom.
You always got to cultivate those relationships.
I don't know if you can use a three technique on some first and second downs who occasionally rushes on the right side.
Come get me.
And he did.
Yeah, after we got beat 44 to 7 in London, maybe by the pads.
Okay, any more.
We got best seat in the house.
Fuck, Kyle.
Who's it going to be?
I think it's Brock Purdy's dad.
You know why?
because last week, Brock Purdy's coach came up.
Everybody was like, oh, Brock Purdy's coach.
Look how cool he is.
He got sunglasses on at night and the whole thing.
And yeah, that's cool.
Maybe he was stoned.
But Brock Purdy's dad didn't get any camera time.
People were saying Brock Purdy's coach looked like Brock Purdy's dad.
That doesn't feel good to be Brock Purdy's dad.
Yeah.
So he comes out to the game watching his baby boy put up 42 or whatever it was on America's team and the Cowboys.
I think he had the best seat in the house.
And also, their business in Arizona.
they sell hot tub in Arizona.
Chris Collinsworth had an opportunity for a layup
for their sales department at the hot tub store.
I'm not sure what's called, but.
Hot tub store.
Chris Collinsworth was like,
who needs a hot tub in Arizona?
What kind of sick freaks are buying hot tub?
No, he didn't.
And Torrico was like,
well, there goes our pitch for the hot tub, you know, store.
Bro, just burying Purdy's dad's business.
Now here's a guy bringing sand to the beach.
In defense of Arizona winners,
it does get cold in the desert.
It gets fucking cold, and that's why he's got one of the longest-standing, most successful hot tub businesses.
And I just want to tell you, if you live in the Arizona area, go find Brock Purdy's dad.
My best seat in the house is at whatever fraternity had Will Ferrell at USC, Will Ferrell running the DJ set.
It was his son's fraternity.
One of the dog.
Will Ferrell just showed up.
Fucking cool.
Will Ferrell's kid, best seat in the house.
Holy shit.
Or not.
I forgot an American scene.
kid. I forgot an America's team.
The Ken's.
What? I saw Barbie.
How was it?
Two months late.
Bro. It was hilarious.
I need to watch it. It was funny.
Now, I know a bunch of guys got all nervous about Barbie because they're like, I didn't know why.
I was like, what did they, yeah.
I was like, what did they do in Barbie to make all these, these men so mad?
I'm watching the whole thing. I didn't get mad at once.
It was funny as fuck.
Ryan Gosling is hilarious.
is basically Ken, they go to the real world,
they get zapped in the real world,
Ken and Barbie,
they live in Barbieland where Barbie like runs the shit,
all the, all the gals.
They got their playhouses and shit.
He's like a madame.
Yeah, well, no.
And then the Ken's are just these like guys
that follow them around and are like,
can I help you?
Like, please look at me.
It's hilarious.
They go to the real world and then Ken,
Ryan Gosling,
discovers the patriarchy.
And so then he comes back to
to Barbie land ahead of Barbie who's still stuck in the real world.
And when she gets back,
he took over Barbie's house, bro.
And he called it the Mojo Dojo Koso house.
Ken's Mojo Dojo Kasa house.
I'm getting a fucking signmate that says Chris's Mojo Dojo Kasa house.
He's got like a fucking a puffer vest.
He's got two pairs of sunglasses, three watches.
He's got a mini fridge.
He just discovered all this shit in the real world, right?
So I think, I think,
Ken's, I don't know what the tagline is,
but you are Kenuff.
Kennaf is the tagline for that movie.
I thought it was really good.
And I want to shout out the Ken's out there.
That was my takeaway from the movie.
Was I supposed to take something else away?
Was that I am enough.
So I just want to shout out the Ken.
Shout out to the kids.
America's teams.
Game ball.
Well, real fast,
our great investigative reporter, Brian, in the chat,
said Sean Purdy and his wife run the fantastic spa outlet,
a hot tub retail retailer in mesa
Arizona dude mesa gets cold man
you're at that valley floor buddy
you know it gets hot in the summer
very cold in the way
shout out to them though game ball
I'm gonna give it to their kid
Brock Purdy
oh yeah who's no longer a kid
no longer the boy wonder no longer
Mr. Irrelevant yeah he's relevant
he's playing tremendous football
and I understand that Shanahan's the coach
and they have weapons all over the field
but that doesn't detract from the fact
that he takes a snap
looks with his eyes and delivers a strike.
Every time he's there.
He's won every single game he's finished,
which is unheard of right now.
He's on track to be able to take this team to the Super Bowl, in my opinion.
He's on pace to never lose.
He's on pace to be undefeated through his career.
That's my favorite stat.
He's going to win a hundred and fifty straight game.
He's going to win forever, dude.
And Kyle Shanahan will never be stopped.
Honestly, I mean, like the Brady thing,
I'm not saying he's going to win a bunch of Super Bowl.
Super Bowls, but this is the closest thing to find a diamond in the rough on a team that's set to win.
Yeah.
And it's a different kind of team.
He's going to win two Super Bowls.
But that guy could win a couple there.
Yeah, for sure.
I'm not trying to put the cart before the horse.
He's going to win two Super Bowls.
He's going to win.
And everybody knows you can't put the cart before the horse.
No.
Or break the camel's back.
Maybe Shanahan has figured a way to do that.
You ever think they...
He's so smart.
Do you ever think they just put the cart in front of the horse and the horse is like, what the fuck?
That's not how you do it.
It's like, what the fuck is this guy doing?
There's a whole process here.
So I want to give the game ball to,
damn. I really didn't think about it.
But I think I want to give it to,
I'm either going to give it to Trevor Lawrence
because I thought he played really well.
God, he was great.
Or I'm going to give it to,
to, to, uh, I'll give it to Justin Fields, Kyle.
I'll go back to Thursday.
Yeah, I thought we were past that,
but I appreciate you for doing that.
I didn't even mention the B word today, Bears.
I think we talked about it.
Well, not really.
Got the game, the whole thing.
Not really.
Not like, you know, we didn't get into it.
Yeah, we don't need to get into it.
But I'll shout him out and hack it.
It's a group game ball.
DJ.
Yeah.
Back's his viral moment of the week.
My viral moment of the week is going to my guy who went,
shout out to the anime fans.
He went full B stars in his leopard cosplay outfit at the Jaguar.
Actually, it's a Jaguar, I guess, right?
at the Jaguars game.
But I want to say
A plus to whoever did the makeup,
the outfit,
he went all out.
And I feel like when you wear something like this,
you ultimately want to get on TV.
If you're going to a game,
you want to be seen in this.
And he did that.
I think his end goal is getting laid.
And excuse me for a...
I was going there.
I was going there.
Excuse me for assuming his gender.
Yeah.
But I will say,
he's trying to get some ass.
Well, I think.
think and I think he might be a submissive.
I think he's like lapping up milk out of a bowl and shit.
That one happens to have a leather print.
It's like, you know, remember the outfit the guy wore?
I think she's got him on a leash after the game.
Nice.
Yeah.
Bad Trevor Lawrence.
Yeah.
Dominatrix.
The Bill's fan that's with him is that his wife?
But look.
His mom?
It might be.
But look, he has the captain seat on his, his sport coat.
So I don't know if that is in the same role as being submissive.
No, she takes her captain.
She strips him as captain's right before.
He's like, come into my office.
She brings him down and not.
I'm mad at you.
I'm going to bring you down a notch.
Also, the Bill's fans like took over that stadium kind of.
Yeah.
In London's supposed to be like Jaggyland.
Well, they won two and oh, two weeks in a row.
Shout out to the Jaggs.
Did you guys have an STL Memorial?
Oh, STL Memorial Award.
Yeah, me every fucking week
You know watching all these stupid games
Not all of them are fun to watch
Some of them are uglies
I gotta sit here
Fucking 11 a.m. to two in the morning
Three in the morning getting this show done
So I don't want to strain my rotator cuff
You know, be like Anthony Richardson out here
But me, STLM, because I didn't think of one
Good shit. Thank you
I'm gonna give it to the Indianapolis Colts
Run Game Coordinator slash offensive line
slash running back
room because you know it in a game where Jonathan
Taylor signs a goddamn
$43 million.
What is it?
$43 million?
Something like that.
All part of that.
And he earned it.
I mean, the guy can play his nuts off.
But Zach Moss comes in and says,
hold my beer for a second.
JT.
Take a look at this.
I mean, he goes, I don't even know what his stats were,
but he had a monster, explosive.
He had a number of big runs.
Zach Moss, STL Memorial.
STL Memorial, the Chargers defense right now.
They're on a bye week.
They're better be getting some work done.
Nobody's watching, but you better be getting some fucking work done.
Coming out of that buy, Haman.
Yes.
I was going to say, Sean Decide.
Yes.
Second half, 101 yards allowed, three sacks, and zero points allowed on that high power offense.
Shut down Pooka, Atwell, Tutu, all of them.
And that was a big, big, real big second half.

Total 46.
have a tail end of a six game parlay where I need the Raiders to win money line tonight.
So I feel bad because I'm on the, I'm on the, I'm on the, um, I'm on the Raiders under win total.
Uh, and make and pick the, the Packers to win and is, and I really do care too much about the locks here.
I just want to stick it to his, his, you know, I just want to win the locks.
Yeah.
And so Sunday night, Packers, Raiders.
minus to Raiders favored at home.
I don't know how to feel about that.
Monday night, sorry.
It changes that.
Yeah, you know.
I don't know what to make of this game.
Do I have to break it down?
I think it's going to go under.
How about that?
I don't know.
Guys, anything?
I'll pick the under and I got the-
Fans.
What do you think happens?
I got the under and I got the Raiders.
Do the show.
Okay, hold on one second.
Let me give you my official take
because I don't want to say that for sure.
That's what I'm saying.
Okay, hold on one second.
I have the under and the Raiders.
No, I have the over in the Raiders.
Over in the Raiders.
Fuck.
Then I got to watch them win.
And anyways.
Gambling, don't do it.
These guys are tired of sucking, man.
And they're at home.
And they get a team that's vulnerable coming into their new stadium.
Get a dub.
Yeah, but it's the classic Packers off.
We can't decide.
That's the bottom line.
We can't decide.

We're split.
