It is week seven in the NFL, and at the very least, the NFC East is contained to being awful against each other.
They're going to get some wins this week, one way or another.
The Big Ten is back.
The nation can once again ignore Terrapin football.
Fuck Maryland.
You tell Scott I said that, too.
And former running back Tiki Barber anchors the third leg of the joint bank account.
Let's get after it.

Let's not bury the lead.
Someone not named Chris Longwin-O last weekend,
I want to make sure that's out there front and center.
It's my guy fresh off the peloton.
He's been crushing it.
Stanford, Steve.
I appreciate the kind words about a three and a week.
It's been a long time.
But stayed on it.
Chris, I'm not going to lie.
I had one of the worst feelings ever about 10 minutes ago on the bike.
I was going to ask you this question when the last time you thought you were going to throw up from working out.
That's a great question.
I've never thrown out.
It's awful.
I've never thrown up from working out.
I've only thrown up from having.
food poisoning and being forced to practice in the 90 degree heat.
Okay.
Yeah, I blew chunks all over the field over at the McHugh Center down the road there at Virginia.
Okay.
Yeah, but I've never been a puker.
I think you either do puke from exercise or you don't, and it's not an indicator of fitness.
I was a big morning workouts.
We used to have the Saturday morning, you know, agility circuits and all that where we had the
garbage fails out there.
Oh, yeah.
But I was more of a dry heaver.
You know, you'd get over the bucket.
but nothing ever came out, but I could swear there was something that was going to come out.
Now, I've dry heaved from exercising on the weekend, but never from athletic exercising per se.
Correct.
I mean, it helps you keep hydrated.
Your eyeballs don't look, you know, bloodshot from puking, so it's good that...
We're good.
No, no, we passed. We passed. We're good.
My dog.
So all of a sudden, this has gotten real.
Steve has now moved ahead of me in the NFL based on winning percentage.
I'm at 57.9. He's at 58.3.
So both safely above 52.4.
But it's starting to get personal. I'm feeling it.
You're spooked a little bit.
I am a little bit spooked.
You are?
Yeah.
Okay.
It's Halloween.
It is.
Weird shit's going to happen.
We're in a spirit.
10 days outside of Halloween.
And Bill Belichick used to say the real season starts around Halloween.
So maybe you're just making your move here.
Did he really?
I think he said something like that.
a lot of things. I tried to digest it all. It was really difficult sometimes. It was under
tremendous stress. You're always worried about getting yelled at. You know, you don't want to be
yelled at by the goat. Like, you walk in the building in the morning, you're like, fuck.
Really? I mean, not really. I mean, listen. You know, there were those days, though.
There were those days where you just, there's days in any football facility like that. But
when the goat is breaking down the film as a unit, that's hard. I don't know how. I don't know
we got here, but it's week seven.
And we get three picks a piece.
You know the business. Steve, I think you go first because last week we rotated and you went
three and oh. So I want you to go first and in your normal spot and just give me your three
picks. All right. Wow. He's so spooked. Let's see here. We're going to go Buffalo.
Got to have a bad taste in her mouth the way they played the last two weeks. The Jets are the Jets.
I went back to the first time these two teams played.
I actually watched that game.
I don't know why.
Ended up being a 10-point game, I think.
But Buffalo left a ton of opportunities out there.
Two guys collided, fell down on a Jameson Crowder.
Like, I think it was a 90, 85-yard touchdown.
Something stupid.
Yeah.
That would just totally change the score of the game.
So I'm going to go Buffalo there laying the points.
Falcons Lions doesn't sound like I don't see any D in their name,
no D in their game.
that's not going to be a defensive coordinator's fun watch for that.
So we're going to go over the point total there.
And then Seattle, old theory, go against a team that covered Monday night.
Seattle had extra time to prep for this.
No one's playing better than Russell Wilson.
I don't know why they would want Antonio Brown to screw that locker room up.
But that's another story for another podcast.
But I'm going to go Seattle there laying the points on the road in a division game,
which I'm sure I'm fired up for.
but I just like
I say it every week
I feel like I can trust Russell Wilson
one anybody trust him trust him and that's why I'll give you my
first pick it's going to be Arizona and
Seattle and the over
in that game I
I do think you know when you look at last year
it's kind of in the mid 50s right now
and you could have watched that Monday night game
and said oh
Arizona's quietly played really good defense
and they've got some players who have although they lost
Chandler Jones so I absolutely love
I hope he gets well.
Buda Baker was tremendous.
Unbelievable.
People are starting to realize the value
and why they paid him,
the money they paid him.
I do think, though, that it was just the Cowboys.
And I don't know if people are going to be reactionary
and look at the two games last year.
There was a 20 to 17 game.
There was like a 27-24 type game.
Neither of those totals would get the job done.
But I think Russ knows what he's up against.
He knows to take them seriously.
You know, and I think I like your pit.
I definitely like the over.
I think it's going to be a shootout.
Kyler's a year better, a year more mature.
The Seattle defense is worse than it was last year, maybe, if possible.
I don't know how to evaluate them.
They're not good.
That's what I was going to say.
On the other side of that game Monday night,
he only completed nine passes.
I know he didn't have to do a lot because of Zeke's fumbles, you know,
but that's the interest to me because you know Seattle's,
they don't have a lot of talent, but I still think schematically
they'll try and do the scenes, not run up field on Kyler,
those kind of things, make him throw the ball.
you know so that's the matchup I'm looking forward to in that one and if you're nervous uh you could do
the ill-advised teaser you could tease uh tease the total down go with the over and uh take the hawks
getting a couple points if you're nervous could me if you're gun shy like me after a week that i had
so spooked look at you uh second i really love the steelers man you're kind of the way you're
trusting russell wilson i'm trusting the steelers they have a bunch of different ways they can win games
We're all excited about the Titans and the Steelers this weekend.
The lone undefeated's in the AFC, right?
Who would have guessed it?
I don't know that actually had that on the bingo card,
but I do have the Steelers of my Super Bowl champs.
I'm going to ride with them.
I think you worry about Devin Bush.
You made that point offline.
What's that going to look like?
I think, you know, conversely, and we will find out,
conversely, Taylor Luan picked a bad time to get hurt as well.
Two really important players to those teams, respectively.
And now you've got the best front in the league,
rolling up. And, you know, Tannahill has got to get the, he's got to get the play action going if he
wants to win this game. Just like most weeks when you're Tennessee, this is a team that could
bottle up Derek Henry, though, even without Devin Bush. I, I'm afraid to say it, but I think they
can, and I think they win this one. And it's a pick-em in most places you can get it. I really
like the Steelers. I think we're going to see that game again in the playoffs, too. Oh, it's going to be
so fun. This week is so much better than the last two, infinitely better. You mean games watching.
Games watching. Now it's more difficult to make the right plays this weekend, I think, which is dangerous.
And then I really like this one, and you could take the over here because the total is kind of low.
It feels very inviting. What do you think here, Steve? I like New England and the over in that game,
but I'll give out New England first and foremost. I think there is a personal aspect to
with Shanahan and Belichick.
And, you know, that's still
stuck in Bill's head. I'm sure it felt
like a win for most
football fans, but for Bill, there was a loss
baked in there in that, you know,
we had all that time to prepare for
a Super Bowl and they
ran us out of the gym for a half
in the 28-3 game.
I think that there's part
of Bill that wants to rectify that situation
as well. And I think we're probably
overvaluing the Niners and
undervaluing the Patriots
coming off last week. That
for sure, the last point.
But wow, I'm bad.
I didn't even think of the 283. I was thinking
about Belichick trading Garapola
and being like, yeah, now you get some of this,
well. Well, he also knows
he knows Jimmy G. well.
Yes. That's why I lean
New England in that matchup.
And yeah, the total wise,
it is weird because
play calling wise,
I mean, you saw late in the game
last week, New England go into the
in the bag of tricks for every single play on the drive.
Yeah.
You know, throw to Jules, he throws it, then an option pass,
throw to Cam, back to Cam.
Like, they tried everything at the end of that game.
So, and then Shanahan's my favorite play caller in the business.
So I'm really, really excited to see.
I really want to see what Bill does against Kittle.
Yeah.
He totally took Waller out of the game when they played him.
And the way Kittle moves around, I'm really,
I'm just fascinated how the McCordy's and those guys in the back end
always seem to never get out leveraged.
And in that, they never get beat over to top by those guys that run down the middle of the field.
That's what I love watching with New England.
And there's a big key there.
I mean, I think if you look at San Francisco, the first thing you want to do is take him away.
You take him away and make them beat you left-handed with one hand high behind their back.
That's really the crux of the conversation.
And there's no more scary place to go play football if you're a tight end than New England.
because you're going to see every play
a first level defender redirecting, jamming that tight end.
It's the worst.
It's such a pain in the ass.
Yeah, and you play tight end.
It's awful.
It's hard enough to run great routes.
When you're getting dinged at the line every play
and the coach says, fuck the pass rush,
we're literally just going to make sure you can't take,
we're going to take your security blanket away.
And that's a lot of why those guys have been really good.
But you look at Denver last week,
I really believe, if you're looking at New England this year,
their biggest asset, just like any year, is preparation and coaching.
They barely got to practice.
The facility was shut down.
That was a trap game, even if it were not for COVID.
And they failed it.
I think they're going to be hungry.
I think they're going to be ready.
They're going to be motivated, and it's a good matchup.
Agree.
Joint bank account.
Let's do college game of the week first.
You have Rice, the Owls, first game of the year.
against middle Tennessee. I love this pick. Middle Tennessee is up there with one of the worst
picks in our worst teams in the country. North Texas, who is not good last week, ran for 492 yards.
Rice comes in a whole month and a half to get to game plan for this middle Tennessee team. Mike
Blumgren's the head coach. Remember he was offense coordinator at Stanford when they really had
it going. He's going to run power out of 900 different formations.
There'll be tackles eligible. There'll be everything. I think Rice is going to try
and keep the ball the whole game. Give me Rice minus the points.
So I'm looking for this game right now. It's all the way down at the bottom.
It's down at the bottom. Scroll, scroll, scroll, enhance. Enhance. Rice. You said
Rice. The first thought in my head was this is what you put your cell phone in.
I mean, I know there's a, I know there's a college in Texas called Rice.
It's a beautiful campus. Come on Luke Wilson. Our guy.
Yeah, our guy, Luke Wilson, but at the same time, Rice, cell phones.
You know, like...
Have you ever had to do it?
No, I've never had to do it.
I hear it work.
Hey, so they're favored by about a field goal here.
Yes.
And you love it.
Love them.
Okay.
Enhance.
I could use it.
Let's go joint bank account here.
And I just want to take the time to point out, and this doesn't count against
the record, but I got to, I'm going to tear my rotator cuff, pat myself on the back.
There we go. There we go. The last two weeks, your boy has picked the upset of the week.
You had Miami two weeks ago. You sure did. And then I had Denver last week,
money line, both of them. This week, let's look at the biggest lines on the board. Bill's Jets,
not touching that one for the reasons you outlined. And then I also think, you know, it's time for,
it's time for
Josh Allen to make some throws
it's been a long two weeks
he's been a little bit off
I know he's going to want to be out
there shaking off the rust
I don't really
I mean I suppose I could give out
and I don't believe this is going to happen
Jags money line
it's not going to happen
why don't you go first
and I'll think about a long shot
oh bears
Bears Rams
on day night
yeah give me the Bears
money line
they've played the Rams tough
I mean I feel like this is you love
Foles I just I trust
I trust the defense
I wow listen
what I
what I think about Foles is that
I
Foles has got some magic to them but that
defense is functionally fucking scary
and they've matched up well
against the Rams so
I love their secondary personnel
and do we know who the Rams are like
I went through this whole cycle where in preseason,
I said the Rams probably weren't going to make the playoffs.
I got a bunch of shit from Rams fans.
And then they started winning,
and I did the honest media member, Mayaculp,
I should have just waited.
Right?
Yeah.
I don't know.
I don't know who they are.
They don't know.
They won the NFC East.
I don't know anything else outside that.
All right.
I'm going to go to the Big Ten.
Everybody loves it.
Yeah.
Rutgers Money Line at Michigan State.
Coach Chiano is back.
We're going back to Chopin Wood.
Is he back there?
Yeah, he's a head coach.
They have 900 transfers.
Michigan State's got a new coach.
We don't know what we're getting in East Lansing.
It's not going to be pretty.
But let's take Rutgers on the money line.
And you're going to be getting a lot.
Well, we'll see what Tiki has to say, hey, what's going to happen tonight real quick?
Giants are going to keep it close.
and maybe win it at the end.
I think that's,
I think they're going to win.
I really do.
So you think they're going to.
Times are playing tough.
Hey,
that was a fun show.
I'm thinking that signals
a really good weekend for your boy.
And for Steve as well,
who's hot off a three and oh weekend last week.
Stop being spooked, Chris.
I need to,
I need to man the fuck up and just hammer rice.
I'm going to hammer rice.
So everybody who listens to this pod,
when I have to explain to
Waylon that he's going to be
riding the same bike
the next three years
and I can't get him a new one
or some shit like that
it was Steve's fault
that'll do it
