And honestly, that's the way I felt about the Chargers as a team against the Chiefs since they hired Brandon Staley. And I thought yesterday, they closed the door on the Chargers in the West. They closed the door on Brandon Staley. They closed the door on this iteration of the Chargers franchise, of the Chargers team. The first couple games, it was like, oh, we might have a rivalry here. And I jumped out of the gym for it. But as time's gone on, the Chiefs have retooled. So they got one hand behind their back, changing the way the team operates.

And while they do that on the fly, they still have a way to stiff arm this franchise. and say, hey, you want to be talked about like us, you've got to put some big boy pants on and beat us. The biggest game being the Eagles defense showing up against Miami Dolphins,

the Detroit Lions being stunned as they made the trip over to the East Coast to face the Baltimore Ravens. The Patriots also got a surprising win over the Bills. Bill Belichick's third. 300th career victory. And a surprising dominant victory, the chiefs beating the Chargers, something that we thought would be a rivalry, kind of has turned pretty one side of the last couple years. We talk all that. I had the Eagles on Sunday night. Like, there was no way I was going to be able to prepare for a 10 a.m. So for those of you who like the 1 p.m., please put that in the comments. I slept seven hours last night. You guys can be, you audio folks can catch it on the drive home. America's team. They're a lot of fun, man. They are fun. Like, you have to, listen, I'm not so passionate about baseball or such a homer in baseball with the Philadelphia Phillies. I mean, I just became a fan of that team like two years ago. People still have to remind me to tweet about the game. Like, hey, and by the way, if Jacksonville and New Orleans is on on Thursday night, I'm going

have that on TV. I'll have the baseball game on my device. But they have been really fun to watch. A lot of big homers. A lot of big, big dongs. Big dongs. Yeah, Swarber just like Schwerber, he's got a face like a guy. It's an adult film out there. Yeah. Yeah, Schwerber looks like a guy who hits dongs. You just look at his face and you know that's what he does. Um, all time record for most left-handed home runs. Got guys are fucking stuff. That team fits the city too. It does. It fits the city. And how about I don't know if I'm stating the obvious, but I felt like when Bryce Harper was in Washington, everybody hated Bryce Harper.

I'm sure if you told most people who walked down the street in Philly and were like, what do you think about Bryce Harper? They'd be like, yeah, he's petulant child. He doesn't run it out at the first base. Sometimes he throws his helmet, shit like that. But he became the perfect fit for Philly. I mean, he is just, they're in love with him.

They should be. I'm excited about the game tonight. Philadelphia Phillies, one of America's teams. Okay, on that topic, the Texas Rangers. The Texas Rangers forced game seven last night. Nobody saw it in Philly. Everybody was watching football.

But that's a good thing. Because if I'm the Phillies, I don't want to play the Astros in the World Series. Like, for one, if you lose the Astros, it really stinks because they're a bunch of cheaters. And two, I think the Rangers. Was that ever confirmed? It was pretty confirmed, Kyle. What is pretty confirmed? The trash can.

They got penalized. Yeah, they got penalized. Are they doing stuff that other guys aren't doing? Do you have an Astros cheating hot take? Please, far away. I'm, you know, let you get through yours. I'm sorry. No, I mean, like, I think the best part of the Texas Rangers

is they listen to Creed. Okay, that was the thing that made me fall in love with this team from a distance. The beginning of the postseason, they've been playing Creed. But I just want to warn you guys, you are creating your own prison by getting to the World Series.

If we win Monday night, we're going to fucking wipe the diamond with you guys. So you will accept that team with arms wide open. we'll accept him with arms wide open. Is there anything else? I wonder if these hitters can take it any higher. Chris, as a better, isn't that a little bit of hate for mattress mac, yo?

Oh, man, I love mattress mac. He's the best thing about the Houston sports team. He's the goat degenerate, isn't he? Isn't it funny that in baseball they have the most dislikable team, but in football, they might have the most likable team in the NFL in Houston Texans. Yeah. Kind of interesting. Rockets, I don't think a lot of people like the Rockets.

Okay, Phillies, Rangers, the Philadelphia Eagles, we will talk about that. But if you're an objective fan of the NFL and you're just like, let me turn something on Sunday night, you can't tell me that a little bit of you didn't say I wish I was an Eagles fan. I mean, the Kelly Greens, the atmosphere, the way they played, say no more. Vrabel and Scar, the Patriots Ring of Honor recipients, the class. of whatever is the 2023 do they do it do this every week or they do it once a year okay that is yeah so they get the the class of 2023 in the redjackets Mike Vrable who I think if I didn't find out that Bill Belichick had signed a handshake

a handshake off-season deal for a bunch of years or whatever it is I don't have the details on that I would think Mike Vrable would be a great successor to Bill Belichick. But maybe for another day, I love, I love Mike Vraibu. I was a big fan of him. So the red jackets there. So they retire the, they, they put on their guys in red jacket. Isn't that unpatriotic because didn't we fight the guys in red? The red coats. If they were in red coats, Kyle. With the jacket. The red jackets is a little close. Mincing words here. Yeah, the British are coming. They're coming to the 1 p.m. Sunday. But Scar, Scar is one of the greatest offensive line coaches.

the history of the game. It was awesome to see those two guys get recognized the 2020 class of the Patriots Ring of Honor. And then the Virginia Cavaliers. Oh, yeah. Wahoo, wow. I watched. First off, I just want to say this.

Congratulations to those players. They have been through a lot over the last couple years to string together a couple wins here. Golly. And to beat a team on the road in the top 10, they were laying 24 points, dude. Nobody. Vegas took a beating on this game. So to the loyal few who bet the Wahoos,

it's just a lot of points. I salute you. And also, there were people, after the game, it was great because people were celebrating about Virginia's win, but then there were a lot of people saying this is the worst ACC loss in, like, history.

And I was like, well, hold on a second. So I just wanted to shout out the Virginia Cavaliers. The oldest rivalry in the South. I didn't realize that until I heard it. And, you know, often they try to sexy these games up, bit they're like this is the biggest game between teens without an indigenous Native American from the state of Minnesota yep it's just like a big long thing the oldest rivalry in the South is American politics but if you count football it's Virginia

and North Carolina I figured the oldest rivalry in the South would be heat you know against man against a guy the guys in Mississippi like some red deck that's hot yeah we've been hot for 300 years down here so it's mine now America's teams. Okay. I'm glad we agree on one. The Philadelphia Eagles in Kelly Green. That's good, Kyle.

That's number one. I feel like you can't beat that team. We talked about the creamsicle buccaneers and how they are a facade. It's a facade. It's a facade. It's a fozzi. It's a wazi.

This is, whatever the opposite of that is. This is real. Hardcore diamond. This is real deal. Holyfield here. Pure diamonds. Not controversial diamonds. That's what the Eagles are.

in Kelly Green. And anybody that watch football, to your point, when they see that jersey, they're like, this is classic. This is Vince Papale. How can you not like it? Vince Papale. I had a guy in my mentions that last night.

I know everybody's freaking out over him, but what about Vince Papale? He was in that jersey. Yeah, no question. He's pointing at the guys behind the, like, come on, guys, back me up. I'm like, is there something I missed? Yeah.

We can't take the fans behind the curtain here. Who I've met, and Vince Papali is a great guy, great family shout out to papale family he was a rapper you was yeah mark walberg yeah that's good but but i don't even remember what i was going i mean it's don't worry about it because it's my america's going keep going so number one eagles and kelly green eagles and kelly green yeah number two michigan wolverines yeah they're good yeah they've got harbop and the rest of the big 10 not as good because I sweated that Penn State game.

All other schools playing a house. They play in the big house. You know what I'm saying? But here's the deal. J.J. McCarthy is the Heisman frontrunner, I believe. I mean, everybody was like, you know, tank for, tank for Caleb, all this stuff. They like the guy from UNC frauds.

They like the guy from Pennix is pretty good. LSU. Pennix was in my feelings last week, so I'm not even going to mention it. Yeah, that's true. Okay. Bo Necks, he's still got a billboard. But Michigan, J.J. McCarthy, he's got cool eyes.

black. He doesn't seem to me like the world beater quarterback, but he's in position to win this thing and Michigan looks great. And also, I'm a big fan of espionage. You know what, Chris? Cheating. You like that? You like cheating? We live in the United States of America. Yes. So you're okay with this? I mean,

what was he doing? We have some of the best signals. I don't pay as much. We have some of the best intelligence gathering. Stealing signals is nothing. But sending someone from your workplace to go to a game specifically to steal signals? Yeah.

Called advanced scouting. I don't see. I don't see that as a safety issue. That's a safety issue. Where are they going to the game? Where are they on the game? Were they on the sideline? Are they like in the student section?

Who knows? He probably has it in. Get better signals. It's called scouting, dude. Get better signals. People still signals all the time. But my point is if we don't do it, they're going to do it. Exactly.

That's why Michigan's the best. Number three. The Ravens. I mean, It was only a matter of time for Lamar was like, yeah, big trust. Yeah, I want to hear big trust again.

Yeah, he's pretty good. Because I have big trust in the Ravens right now, and you know what it starts with that defense, but the way that offense looked was awesome. To start the game, the lion's eyes didn't know where to go. Yeah.

With all the RPO stuff. And then as the game went on, it was kind of like daring Lamar to throw the ball. And Lamar was like, all right, MFers. Yeah, I'm still an MVP candidate. So Baltimore Ravens, number three. When they're good, everybody in America loves them. Number four,

backup quarterbacks. Again, they were on my list last week. One of the OG backup quarterback matchups would have been Jalen Hertz to a Togabaloa. Saw that on Sunday Night Football. It was a lot of fun to watch. But then throughout the league, Tyson Baygent for Chicago stepped in, wasn't asked to do a lot, but did enough to get the win and impress a ton of Bears fans. I think they've locked down at the very bare minimum, their backup quarterback.

See what you did there. Yeah, that's good. For a long time. PJ Walker as well, coming in for the guys. who just continues to get dinged. Deshawn Watson. We're going to talk more about this. PJ Walker.

Tyrod Taylor. Nate's laughing because he knows with Deshawn Watson, I've been banging this drum for a calendar year. Don't jump out of the gym for this Cleveland team. This guy is these... So, Tyrod Taylor, the last of my list of backups.

I'm sure there are more. Brian Horrier did well as well. And you know what? They gave a shout out to Brian Horri during the Bears game. They said he was the last Bears quarterback to throw for 400 yards, four times.

with no interceptions and he did it at like consecutive games and I was like I must have been on IR for that I forget those games so number five you love the Phillies Chris I get it makes sense to me you like cheating I have a thing in my America's teams right now where I just keep there's cheaters Jim Harbaugh he sleeps over on on recruiting visits that's almost cheating yeah would your wife consider that cheating if he slept that sleepover? Does he sleepover? It was Jake Moody.

Jake Moody. He slept over at Jake Moody's place when he was recruiting Jake's Moody. Chris, this is a real question. San Francisco 49ers. He brought a, he brought an overnight bag and was like playing S&S with these guys. You got any milk? That's like cheating. Okay.

So, Chris, you love the feelings. I like Altovae a lot. Yeah. Because he's little. Yeah. But he plays big. Plays huge. It plays huge.

Yeah. And you know what? I think the Houston and Philadelphia advance. I think that's the series, and I think that Houston does end up winning, and I think that Altovae ends up being the World Series. A little side bet? A little side bet?

Autevae, World Series MVP? If they get there, side bet. Yeah. And you have to pick yours. Oh, I got the Phillies. No, MVP is who's going to win? No, we have to do the MVP. It's a parlay.

Who's my MVP? It's Kyle Schwarber. He's going to hit like three bombs. Deal. Okay, we'll figure out. $100. Baseball bits. I'm not pre-CBA.

I don't have a media company. Kyle, you get a new sports car every three months. No, that's untrue. Why he points a me? For somebody. I just got a new car, traded it in. That's untrue. What do we got now?

We have the Eagles and the Dolphins. Oh, we're going to talk Eagles and Dolphins now. Right off the top of the show. Listen, I don't mean to gloat, but I told you. I mean, I told you. I told you. And like, listen, the dolphins are a, very good team. Okay, no questions asked. If you got to play the dolphins, it's going to be a long

week of prep. They throw a lot at you. Tua is, when he's clean, I talked about it last week, as good as anybody in the league. I'm aware of the injuries. I am aware of the calls. Okay, you didn't get all the calls. Okay. Not every team gets all the calls every week. But the Dolphins against playoff team, since last September, where they beat the Bills, 2119, and they beat the Ravens 42-38. They are 0- and 6 against playoff teams. And even more so, when you get in these primetime games, SINC, you score 15 points. Pittsburgh, you score 16 points. Chargers, you score 17 points. In a 425, where everybody was watching last year against the Niners, you score 17 points. Now, Buffalo, I think they went out there and played really well up there, and I thought they

out tuft them and maybe should have won that game. But when they play these teams in big spots, they tighten up. And on top of that, I would liken the dolphins to a sports car, Kyle. Not every track is going to be Royal Raceway. Suited. Okay, sometimes you've got to go to Moomoo Meadows.

Talk about that 300 C.C. Sometimes you've got to go to Bowser's Castle. Yeah. Okay? And you've got to put the muddifers on. When you've got to use the braking pedal. And the Eagles were like, yeah, come into our world. You know, because coming into the game, I had a feeling that their game plan was going to be pound the rock. And I told all the guys on the inside the NFL text chain, Channing was like, yeah, dolphins are going to win. I'm like, well, you might want to hedge with the under because you're going to lose that bet, but you might want to hedge with the under.

And early on in this game, it played out exactly that way. The Eagles stuck to the run game. It didn't always work, but they stuck with it. And I thought the first drive was great, a big statement. We saw some motion out of them. at the bottom of the league in pre-stamp motion. We saw some motion out of them. And eventually, this was the key to me, Kyle,

when they had to have it and they couldn't get the run game going, you're playing off coverage against AJ Brown. He's about as strong as it gets on the ball. Just take the seven yards. Take the fucking profit. And that's what they started to do. And I'll say this lastly. Jalen hurts.

I know he's dinged. I saw the scramble. I thought it might have been a heel. I thought it was an arm at first when he went down. I thought he collapsed on his arm. I don't know what happened. And then he was limping. I was like he's all fucked up.

But the scramble where he had to scramble, maybe it was on fourth down to the left, out of bounds. I said to Meg, because Meg was in, the boys are up until 9.30 a night. They're wearing fucking loose. Got an eagle puppet. He has a green yo-yo.

Wayland's got his Lane Johnson. I was going to say, Lane, yeah. The whole house is going nuts. But I said to Meg, I think he's dinged. And, you know, that's been something people have talked about. I know the turnovers are a problem. And I know that honestly, as Eagles fans, you're probably set up for a bit of disappointment by that MVP performance last year because he's not always going to be that.

Okay. That's another thing. You change coordinators. This guy's really, really good, but sometimes he's going to make mistakes. Eight interceptions so far this year, whatever it is. Some of them aren't on him. Some of them are absolutely on him, like the Jets pick last week. And like burn the ball against the free runner last night.

Okay? But I will say this. And that's a lot of, you know, that's a lot of, you know, that's a lot of. a lot of setting up to praise Jalen Hertz. When he's under pressure, like the beginning of the Jets game, those third downs, when you have to have it, like the throw on fourth and three, which took huge balls because you're about to set up a two for one for the Dolphins. If you don't get that midfield, two for one, that lead fucking disappears.

To have the balls to go do that on fourth and three, to hit that shot, which was a backbreaker at A.J. Brown at the end of the game, to scramble on fourth down. And more than anything, after you throw that pick six, before this game, Kyle, I'm watching Tua. They're fucking turn the lights on, they're turning it off. Everybody's cell phones on in the crowd. It looked absolutely electric. And I'm like putting myself in his shoes.

And I'm not sure how he handles that stage because they haven't beaten the good teams. But I know how Jalen Hurst handles a big stage. He does not fucking blink. He throws a pick six. No. That leads about to evaporate. What does he do the next drive?

Boom, boom, boom. A bunch of conversions, a bunch of good throws. They just run their offense. They go down and they get points. So I just want to say this. Jalen Hertz is getting beat up in the media, but Jalen Hertz, I'll take him any day. And he gives my team a better chance to win

than if you weren't on the team. And I'll say this about Miami. They were down some guys on the back end. No question. And some guys that I was thinking we're going to play, honestly. Xavier Howard. I was honestly like, Xavier Howard, book it one interception.

Like, I was going to bet that. I told Matt Kingston that at 6 o'clock last. last night. And then I'm like watching him walk around in sweatpants. But my point is this, the protection last night. Jalen Phillips, Lane Johnson, we got to witness another one of those elite matchups and Lane's out there on one leg and he's blocking his ass.

So he should have had slide on that side. And he's locking his ass up and I'm gonna get there on the inside move. But there's seven, eight seconds worth of protection a dozen times. Like there's a seven second blocking rep that Lane Johnson is over. there getting his right hand inside the left breast plate of Jalen Phillips putting his left hand

under the right rib cage pulling his elbows to his chest and just sitting there and there's a few times where you can see him where he looks behind him yeah and he's like what is going on back there the hell's taking so long like I can hear Lane's thought yeah like the hell's going on over there and one of them remember the two guys collided the ball comes out and like from our angle you're like oh Lane got beat and then you watch it back and you're like Lane's standing there stonewalling Jalen for 10 seconds, but I didn't like the celebration at the end of the half. Oh, you didn't?

Well, it didn't sit well with you. It sounded like an Eagles fan to me. No, I'm an O-Line fan. And what I am is I'm a greatness fan. And when you've got a guy who's at the level of great that Lane Johnson is, you get a sack, take your sack. But Jalen Phillips, I got to respect Jalen Phillips' mindset because I do.

And we like Jailen Phillips. But I love Langellis. I think Jalen Phillips, if he's healthy, is an elite rusher in this league. I put him in that tier right below the Crosby. tier where I've listed this tier before where there's a bunch of guys in there Hutchinson Hendrickson, Gary, all those guys. I think he's in that tier.

We do not disagree. I never thought, don't worry, who did I beat? So that's an offensive line mindset. I get it. So like, I see that and I'm thinking to myself like, yeah, celebrate 100% celebrate with your team. You made a great play. Be careful.

You're a great player, but it's like at the end of the day, that could be louder. about what you did than what you accomplished. You know what I'm saying? And that was the taste that was left in my mouth. And Lane's such a great player. He hasn't given up a sack in 42 years. Listen, I thought... I would celebrate like that too, but I'm an asshole.

Yeah, no question. I thought the Dolphins defense did a nice job in spots. In spots. But those long Eagles drives. I mean, you talk about at the end of the game where they have to go ice to get the ball with 9.45 to go or so... The coverage challenged the Eagles early

and forced the protection to stand up. Yeah, no question. And it was fun to watch early, and then it got, you know. Well, they also challenged them in the run game. And that's why I said, like, the Eagles, if you don't have that run game, you've got to be able to work your quick game. You've got to go intermediate. And eventually they caught onto that.

But I'll say this, the Eagles, defense, this is the reason that you're able to win this game. When you hold the Dolphins offense at 10 points because the pick six was seven, that's a winning effort. And I thought that the key, we talked about third and long, getting them into third and long, where Tua actually, and at times they're so good offensively, he's going to put the ball right there, and he knows his buddy's going to be there, they're going to hit the middle of that zone,

and Chris actually did a good job of showing Collinsworth last night, some of those those those that are so anticipatory. But I think the longer you make him pat the ball and the more pressure in the middle of the defense, he's going to throw you balls like the ball he threw you at the end of the game with the chance to tie it. And I thought the Eagles did a great job, magnificent job,

and they're in the top five in the league at this, stopping the run without committing a million bodies to the run game. And that was the key. And having Hassan Reddick and Josh Sweat as guys who really, they're like knives out there. Dude, Sweat had a rush last night where they showed him in triple extension when the camera was on the left offensive line side of the field. He hit a bull rush and rolled those hips under it.

Man, he is long and lean and strong. He's as talented as anybody in the league, Kyle. And in the run game, too, the disruption they create forces third and long. and forcing third and long here, they actually had them living there for a lot of the night. Now, the scariest part of this game, and I talked about the middle eight and the two for one here, middle eight being the middle eight minutes of the game,

the two for one being for people out there listening, it's when the dolphins have the ball last at the end of the half, and then they're going to get it coming out. So when you talk about a two for one, that's where you kick off in Madden, then I get the ball at the end of the half. That's right. So it's like, I'm going to score and I get the ball back.

Yeah, you get a two for one. And so that was what I was. worried about I turned to my wife and I was like they absolutely can't give up the two for one here and she was like they'll be okay honey because that's how they operate she also knew I had like I told her in the second half she was like it's going to be okay I was like Meg if you saw how much money I have on this game you would not say this she's like you have a couch on this game I was like a couple sectionals and I'm talking about restoration hardware I'm talking about like overpriced couches okay but the whole thing was you have a 176 or 173 lead you're about

going to the half. Like you gave up third and 13 to Cedric Wilson. You bracket double on a press technique. Tyreek Hill. As soon as they came to line and I saw Bradbury up on him, I'm like, that's where they're going. And it's like Edmonds, just get on your horse or get back there. Like be in a cloud kind of situation where you're over the top of him, not bracketing him. Other than those mistakes that made the game closer than it should have been, I thought they did a great job. And early on, they took a guard out, right? I'm not saying that's like what you try to do, but... Buddy, did they

ever? But boy, the middle of that pocket, man. I hate rewatching injuries, but I was rewatching just from the physical presence on that defensive front. I mean, there's a few different types of defensive line. And the first one that comes to mind for me is like a Vince Wilfirk. And me and Cody Whitehaer, who's still

on the Bears, we used to double team Wilfirk in Houston. We couldn't move him off the line. He wasn't denting us into our backfield. And then there's guys that shoot gaps and get skinny and they're trying to wedge between double teams. And then there's guys like Jalen Carter who picks one guy and he attacks him. Yeah. And he dents him into the backfield.

And when you do finally square up, he's going to beat you with a move. No question. So Jalen Carter, young guy, continue to develop. But my God, the presence he's had. I don't know who matches up with the Eagles when they're right. It's tough. And you talked about this earlier. You were saying San Francisco is a tough matchup because inside, their guys inside are not as good.

The matchup for San Francisco's O line does not bode well. against the Eagles. So, you know, like, and that's the one thing about the Eagles. I think that's really good. We talked about this before. I'm not saying that the new Patriots, because I think that's probably the chiefs right now, right down to bringing guys back like Frank Clark and me Cole Hardman. Like, that's what the Pats do.

And not only that their defense is carrying them now, too. And their defense is carrying them. They can morph into different teams year to year, week to week. And it's the same thing with the Eagles. This was a muddy game. We're going to muddy it up. We're going to run the ball. And we're going to cave the fucking pocket and make you drive the ball on us.

And that's what they did. But the dolphins, I will. acknowledge this. I mean, we talked about the penalties. That's not always going to go your way. I'm sure in some of these other prime time games, you didn't spot the other team 10 penalties. What happened in those games? I'm not going to accept that excuse. Now, what I will accept is, like, this team's not healthy. Neither are the Eagles in some spots, but this team's not healthy. You got two corners down. One's going to be coming back soon that you haven't seen all year in Jalen Ramsey. They said he looks good in practice. I think he's going to look really good. I'm sure he looks

fresh as fuck. But you've got the offensive lines been banged. up, I thought, even the pick at the end of the game leading up to that, you had bad snaps, you had a delay of game to start the game, you had one in the second half. So like, this was not their best day. And at times, the receivers let two a down with Tyreek let him down with a drop or two. Buddy, I'm glad you brought that. Me too. Bad, bad, bad drops. Like, I hate it. I hate it. Bad drop, but then the subsequent scramble for the football in the end zone? How about that? Yeah, that was wild, dude. When I thought it was a fumble for a second, I was just worried that it might be.

I was screaming at the ball and the ball just kept squirting out. Staying in bounds, though. But also how fast Tyreek was getting to that ball. It was like other guys who had a full head of steam and angles, he just ran past them, dude. So I'm not going to lie, selfishly. I had Tyreek three plus touchdowns. And I had him first touchdown score of the game where they had a terrible holding penalty. He scores a touchdown.

That gets called back. He scores one touchdown. and then that play that he dropped, subsequently that would have been three touchdowns. But he had some... Was he the last leg of that parlor? He had some very, very bad drops. And for someone who was supposed to be elite,

like that kind of shows up and we kind of forget about it because he always has electric touchdowns. But in a lot of games now, Tyreek, he has some pretty bad spotly drops. And it's one of those things where for playing against a team like the Eagles, you have to be almost perfect

and you can't shoot yourself. And they weren't perfect. And I outlined all the reasons, you know, like the penalties, the fucking, you know, not all those penalties are bad calls. And also like I talked about this earlier, the face mask, absolutely, absolutely, it's garbage. That should have been called. But the very next play, you get your pick six, ball don't lie, right?

And, but what people don't mention, I've seen every Dolphins fan on Twitter, like just take the L man. Like you're out here today talking about this call, this call, you're posting all the calls. There was one play where Tyreek lined up on the right side of the field. He ran a 20-yard

in, you know, like 20 yards up and then across the field. He caught the ball at 20 miles an hour coming back towards the line of scrimmage. You remember the play I'm talking about? Yeah, yeah. Do you guys understand how hard you have to run to get that deep down the field? Change directions, change directions. He's got little legs. It's a different speed that he's playing.

It's a different speed, and that's where they had to go. They had to go to the perimeter stuff to get the run game going. Dolphins, this is who you got now. So you want to prove that you are who you say you are. I got people tweeting me about, because last year I said if Tua wins a Super Bowl during this Mike McDaniel era,

I'll get a tattoo a, which basically I'll get like his number tattooed on me or a dolphin with his number or something. I said that on a lebitard show. I got people after week three, the week before the Buffalo game, like, how you're feeling about that tattoo? Buddy, I'll tell you after you play the chiefs,

the Jets twice, the Cowboys, the Ravens, and the bills the rest of the way, okay? If you come out of that gauntlet and you're the number one seed in the AFC, then hey, hats off to you, and I think you are probably a Super Bowl favorite. So I'm not, hey, you got a good football team.

Your coach is one of the best in the NFL, period. I can't say enough about Mike McDaniel, his emotional intelligence, the type of guy he is, the way he's a rocket scientist, but he relates to other people. The way he runs to the locker room at halftime? Yeah, I love the guy. And Tua, great dude.

But the point is after all this noise, after six weeks or whatever, seven weeks, this is the point of the season where teams come down to earth and we find out who they are and who they're not. And the Eagles, for all the talk about their and aggressing and all that stuff, are still an elite football team.

The bones are good. I'm not saying they're going to win the Super Bowl, but they're an elite football team. They've got a quarterback, they've got multiple receivers, they've got winners on the edge and the pass rush, they've got winners in the run and the pass down the middle of the field,

and they've got guys who have played there before on the edges and in the back end. And they have the tush push. They have the tush push, which is honestly an advantage. I mean, sometimes it was more like the tush carry last night. Like they just pick them up by his butt, cheeks and set him seven yards on the field. They move him 21 feet.

They're getting seven yard fucking tush pushes. On that last drive, it has to be so backbreaking that you know you have to defend three downs. Do you see the defense? And then if it's fourth and two, they're going to get in there and do this play that never doesn't work. Let me ask you this. Do you think Jason Kelsey should maybe get envy people if the touch push keeps going the way

and it ends up being. How about no? No, why not? He's like a huge factor. Am I be the most innovative player? most innovative play. Do an EPA calculation during this next breakdown. Either the field goal block that the Patriots dialed up week two,

where the guy came from the boundary and ran down the line, or the tush push-push perfection. Not the MVP for it. who scored 34 points a game or whatever against the pads over a stretch of time, goes in there and lays an egg like this, the fucking breakdown is going to be from the vantage point of the bills. I'm sorry, guys. I don't know if you're just not getting used to the post-Tom Brady era, but you're not going to be the center of every breakdown.

You go through the YouTube comments, these people think I hate the Patriots. I hate losing money. Okay, I had the bills three ways, three different teasers. They almost ruined my Sunday. So just to translate everything for you and put things into perspective, you guys are acting like only children, all right? Like get over it.

You're not going to be the fucking, you're not going to be the centerpiece of every breakdown. Now, I'll start with you guys because this was a huge one. With that said. With that said, I did text bill last night. Congratulations. I fucking. 300.

Yeah, I love, I love Spartan warrior. I love Bill, and I hate seeing people talk down on him this year because we don't know what's going on there. And just like, you know, to drive this point home, we woke up yesterday and people are like, oh, by the way, they signed a deal in the off season. The Pats and Bill, they're going to run this thing back with Bill. That was new to me.

Which was interesting. Right before our show at CBS, they were like in cover and also cover Bill Belichick's contract. And I was like, what contract? The one that says, you gotta leave? Yeah, exactly. I thought we were talking about firing Bill, but instead, maybe they truly are playing possum.

The last time, this was per Kingston, the last time that the Pats announced that Bill extension was in the middle of SpyGate. So I don't know if it's a look over here, everything's going to be okay. But I also think it gives context to fans. Bill's not coaching for his life right now. So Bill could well be coaching for tomorrow, you know, and like, which also makes, which also makes the outcome curious, right?

Because, you know, you're trying to win games. Bill in division, he hates these teams, the whole thing, people talking about him tanking. He wanted to win this game for the 300th, and he did it. Congratulations to Bill. And Mack played his best game in a long time. I thought, despite a ton of injuries, because they are hurt, I thought Mac played great, great job against man coverage all day. They allowed 13 pressures up front,

and I think that's the crux of it. When the bills are missing guys inside, like DeQuan Jones or Ed Oliver, like that shows up. That was going to show up this week, but not to the degree that it did. And in the run game, I thought Bill O'Brien had a really nice day.

I mean, it looked like Butchin Shanahan out there. They were all side to side. It was all misdirection. They came out there. they ran some, would they run early? They ran a lot of good concepts in the run game.

They did. They weren't, they went out gap scheme. They made guys play rule-based football and that's hard to do over and over and over again, particularly with guys that aren't your starters in there.

You mentioned that Oliver being out. I played Ed Oliver. That guy's a tank. He's about a fire hydrant height. Hard to get under in the run game. A guy who can dent you in the past as well. But the gap scheme stuff. So whoever's filling in there

has to sit on double teams. They've got to have their eyes right. I mean, shit sucks. When you're throwing multiple schemes early, you can't get comfortable out, I would imagine. Four yards of carry, Kyle. And then they went more zone late. I thought they did a really nice job.

That's the breakdown as it concerns the Patriots. I just want to let you down easy. This is where we're going to start talking about the Bill's problem. A Bill Belichick draft hit. We talk about Bill Belichick having autonomy and control. Sometimes it's bad. but you know what, this guy, Chad Rylan, fourth-round pick out of Maryland, he had a lot of field goals yesterday.

Yeah. You don't draft kickers. He loves kickers. This guy. Yeah, he loves kick. It was like, hey, Bill, I got you, my dog. That's big in a game like this because early on. Chad move.

I think, and this is where I get mad at the bills, okay? I obviously get mad because they lost me money, but I also get mad because I see that with the injuries on defense, they're different. But offensively, you can be better. Defensively, this is a game where the pads trailed by double-digitifference. in five of six games coming in the first half. They flipped the script on that, and the pressure up front was the factor.

And they heated Josh up. I think there were 49% blitz or 43% blitz. Like they were in the 40s, second in the league yesterday when it came to bringing pressure. And Josh, lethal in the quick game, but when you don't have those quick answers, when you hold the ball for two and a half seconds or more,

he was 10 for 24 for 130. And I don't want to put everything on Josh, right? because I do think they need a number two. I do think that at times they stick to the run game more. James Cook, thank God he's on the team. He's kept them in a lot of games, including the one yesterday. But you have to hit your off-schedule stuff, and they just didn't hit the big off-schedule stuff.

And that's the standard that I hold Josh to. If you want to talk about him as the top three to five quarterback, which I think when he's on, he's as good as anybody in the league, but it's this inconsistency. It's the first fucking drive. It's cover three. Look the flat defender off. Check the flat defender.

That is a pick you cannot throw on the road. I know the rest of the game he didn't throw any picks, but that is a pick you cannot throw on the road. When you're playing an inferior team, you cannot, especially the way the offense is played, get down 10-0 to that team. And that was the script. It was like just like last week, not much early.

We got to figure out a way. We scramble together in the second half. We run more tempo and we get back in it. But the defense with Milano down, with Trey White down, with two guys up front down, they look very pedestrian right now. the worst offense in the league, one of them. And last year, about this time, they scored 38 points

against the Cleveland Browns and a win. Since that game, they have not scored this many points. So this was like a terrible, terrible performance right down to the cherry on top, which for me is a Cardinal sin as a defense. You're giving them two minutes to drive the field and score a touchdown. That's not even on my radar.

It's like we're defending a field goal, and that's what I'm worried about, especially after the screen. But to give up a touchdown, in the fashion they did. Like that was a sustained drive. I mean, that's like a 75-yard drive or something. Like two weeks

in a row, you give one up to Tyrod Taylor and now Mack Jones. It's time to panic about this defense because there's things they can't fix. Well, they got panic on both sides, bro. Yeah. I mean, to your point, if the short stuff's not there, he's struggling to have any sort of production or

success with the long stuff. Stefan Diggs is the highest shareholder in terms of, you know, targets per team yeah like if sefhan diggs isn't open you're where's von miller where's von miller that's a question i mean von miller was out there but you know like the pass rush didn't get there you know your number two ever since that kansas city game Gabe davis when i went up to kansas city to watch you guys um and he and he went off that was fun it was one of the greatest games i've ever seen but you were like oh he's got this bona fide number two now i still haven't seen it consistently and i think

Gabe Davis is a good player, but like every other Ferrari in the garage, you soup that Ferrari up. I like the young tight end too, and he came on yesterday, but the Knox has to catch that ball on fourth down. They need a reliable number two that's going to eat when you take coverage off of Stefan Diggs or you put it on him. I thought this game was a big disappointment. Third down was the story of the game.

But how do you, if you're the bills, how do you do that, because you know how it works in the NFL? After a bad loss, Vegas knows how it works too. After a bad loss, you come out, you play better. You get punched in the mouth, you got to fix it. You're going to play a division opponent, one that's not as good as you, and you go out and play like that. I worry about the bills now.

Like I said it before the season, worried about them taking a step back. I kind of was afraid of how that take would look after the Dolphins game, but maybe the Dolphins are not. It's like... It's all starting to make sense. Yeah, the pieces are like... And the chiefs go out and Travis Kelsey has 180 yards and Mahomes looks like Mahomes. He's got 400 fucking yards in the first half and you're like, oh.

It all kind of makes sense. Yeah. And I thought Bill, I thought like the, the Eagles are good. The last thing I'll say is this about the offense? Play action not great yesterday. Twelve personnel not great yesterday. Those are two things you lean on heavily if you're the Buffalo Bills and they couldn't get anything out of that stuff. So again, they got to be careful because the dolphins could run.

run away with this thing. They gotta get guys back, but the problem is some of them aren't coming back. And you know, the Pats, I don't know what else you want me to say. Fucking great win, dude, great win. You're two and five. Now go prove me right that you were the best

O and two team in the league, which I said a month ago. The funniest thing about you guys is I'll actually stand up for you, but you only pop in like once every year and you take everything personally. The Pats, the Pats are, they should be better. It's the TikTok. You two short generation.

They see one. They see one thing. Go win some more, and you'll be the center of more breakdowns. I don't know what else you want to build on this. The craziest thing about this win is that Gasekis and Mack Jones, their gritty is going to live in infamy because this was Bill Belichick's 300th win, and we're going to see that final touchdown being played forever, and then them celebrating like that. Jalen turns turnovers or some were just freakish kind of like things you know one of them yesterday they turned the ball over thankfully they're up 28 nothing but in the second quarter which is about a spot that they've had some of these mistakes with leads they fumble an exchange so if I'm the Ravens like that's what we're building on is that that moment right there it's like guys if we can just eliminate these because we're not gonna be up 28 nothing every game yeah but we talk about this coming in I did not like the game script for Detroit playing left-handed

down in Tampa is different than playing left-handed without David Montgomery in Baltimore against the number one, number two defense in the league. If you can't get the run game going, if the wind's blowing, I don't like Jared Gough in this spot. I didn't like it when he was in. I wouldn't like it if the game was in phase. I definitely didn't like it when they go down right off the bat. And like, this was the whole thing. First quarter, 22 to 6 plays, 194 to 6 in yards, and 12 to 3 in time possession. This game was over before it started, because Baltimore had a great game plan. It was an RPO clinic, Kyle.

You talked about that. We haven't seen a lot of these concepts that he's rolling out now, which means he's saving some of them. I love that. And I was arguing with people last week about Lamar because I've never jumped off that train. And if you jump off the Lamar train,

I think you're unwise. Because that MVP guy is still in there. The throws that he made yesterday, the throws where he's fitting him over the second level defenders. After a heavy play action? Yeah, heavy play. play action, the throw to Beckham backed up. These are fucking elite

throws. There's one other guy that I'm seeing make these throws with regularity in the NFL and that's Patrick Mahomes. These are like elite armed talent, decisive, smart throws that he's making. Tyson, and don't tell me, Tyson Pageett, don't tell me that he's always looking to run because I saw him stand in the pocket yesterday

for 10 seconds and hit Nelson Aguilar. Yeah, he bounced off 3-0-Lignment. He was like, let me run up in your butt, let me run up in your butt. Let me escape out. here and throw a fucking dart for a touchdown to Nelson Aguilar. He went climb the pocket. He went bail out of the pocket with intent to throw still. Out to the right sideline.

Bought himself an extra two, three seconds to watch Nelson Aguilar and Bateman cross. And once they crossed, he led Nelson where he was going. That's the scramble drill right there, Kyle. And it's a scramble drill where you're not looking to scramble. It's the one where you're looking to break the defense's back. And it's a scramble drill with receivers that know that they're quarter. And this is one of my pet pee is Phil Sims. I talked about this yesterday.

people that say he kept his eyes down the field. It's like, oh, no fucking shit. We're he going to keep his eyes. But he kept his intent down the field. And he kept his patience. And his receivers know that he's doing that because that's obviously shown up in practice. You and I both know, and they run scrambled drawn practice all time.

So these receivers know that he's going to make the right throw. But what I love about him more is that like a guy like Alular on that play, recently he just had a bad, bad drop. And it's just like to keep looking his way and you as a player knowing, hey, I know I fucked up. I know I made a bad drop. And maybe in my head, I'm like, damn, he might not look my way in that situation again.

But the guys who play with Lamar, it definitely seems like they know that he has a short-term memory. And it's like, bro, I'm coming to you again. Big trust. Just make sure you make the play. And those guys, they did it. And from the beginning of the game, and I thought this was obvious that their game plan was,

hey, if we look at this front, we feel like we can block them. And that's what we said coming into the game. They were going to block the edges. I know Hutchinson's great. I like the matchup with Moses and Stanley. That played out. Okay, inside you're worried about McNeil. They did a pretty good job, and I thought the protection was great.

Then it's going to be a situation. How long can we keep these guys attentive in zone? How long can these guys sit back there and look at Lamar and stretch? Like, Lamar's very good at extending plays and manipulating the zone with where he is out of the pocket, inside the pocket. And the longer you've got to defend, those linebackers weren't a blender from the beginning of the game. You could see it like the very first play. They had no clue to look. The very first play, it's the first play I think is a read option. It's like a, it's a read with a throw threat. It's, it's an RPO. The first fucking play, you've got multiple guys doing

the wrong thing. That, that continued through the game and it all ties into Lamar Jackson. So huge for them, 28 nothing before you could get to the half. 20-0-0 and then the lions are like, all right, we're going to commit to stopping the run because we know we can't make the right reads at the second level, so we're going to just jam this box, we're going to commit to the run. And Lamar's like, oh, okay, I'll just throw it.

Yep. And then the Ravens are the Raven. And everybody's talking about Tom Monkin, including us, right? But we got to talk about McDonald, the defensive coordinator, because I think this thing has gone under the radar. You know, we're so focused on Lamar, we're so focused on that team.

from that vantage point. You forget about Patrick Queen, Rock, Crom, Smith, Kyle, Hamilton, and all the guys on defense. They had well-time first and second down edge pressure. I thought they did a great job in the run game. I figured they were going to, they did a good job rushing.

They've had rushers step up, like Clowny stepped up this year. They get O-A back. Like, they've got guys inside. They have absolutely, and they manned them up and just play great coverage. They have taken this team to another level, to where I think they can make a run,

and it's because of the defense. Obviously, Lamar is great, and that offense has improved, but there will be variability. The one thing that's most consistent in the NFL is a defense. And if you've got a good defense that travels, weather, location,

game script, I think he doesn't get enough credit. Mike doesn't, you know, and you focus so much on Monkin. I mean, their identity was totally different. It's not just like changing D-coordinators. They change D-coordinators and like the,

way they do things completely because Wink is such an outlier. I thought this team did a great job in the offseason and now they're starting to round into form. And you said like they can make a run. Well, I have an idea for a segment. Every week we should do a Super Bowl today segment. Who wins the Super Bowl today? Today. It's Chiefs and Eagles, isn't it? So yeah, I have four teams written down. I got Chiefs Ravens, Eagles, Niners, and I've got the Chiefs circled with a line to the Eagles. It feels inevitable sometimes, doesn't it, Kyle? Super Bowl today. So yeah, the AFC North, we talked about the Ravens, they got it done.

Cleveland gets it done. Is Cleveland the same fucking team as last year? I mean, are they the same team as last year? Because last year, I'm just telling you, I just read this in Sando's article today. Shout out of Mike Sando, athletic. Guys is beast. Mike Sando used to be one of the guys at my locker in the NFC West. And then he went to the bad guys in Seattle.

and now he's like one of the biggest names. They were third in EPA defensively, the Cleveland Browns were over the last seven games. So like the bones were there. They added some pieces. You know, you talk about Thornhill, you talk about Big Z and that sort of thing and some of the other additions they've made.

But the bones were there, right? And then offensively, I don't know what's so different about this team because, and this is one of the reasons that I flirted with or took them last in the AFC North because I do not trust the Sean Watson. And part of it, admittedly, is a karma thing.

I just don't believe him. Okay? You can give me the whole thing, but I just don't believe him. And then on top of that, so I think they made a deal with the devil there. On top of that, he's not a good quarterback anymore. Oh, boy. The fucking the first two picks, you can say he's concussed. I don't know what's going on.

But he hasn't been able to stay healthy. And, you know, you play your best game a couple weeks ago. His soft tissue doesn't feel good. Yeah. Those plays outside. Yeah, it feel like concrete because you can't get in anywhere. I'm so damn rigid out here. Everybody's like, no.

I'm stiff as a board. We're both from 12 to 4. How about 430? No, we close at 4. Yeah, we're done. So I just think like when I think about Deshaun Watson in his prime, the dude was electric off schedule. I remember me and Mike Bennett missed the sack against the Texans,

and he shook us both through the ball 40 yards down the field. Like, you'd be laying on the ground and just listen to the crowd because, you know, he extended it and made some magician play. The two pixie three yesterday, he's out of the pocket. He's like, this is where he's usually great. He's just, he doesn't have that fastball anymore. And you could tell me, like, hey, give it time, the whole thing, but I've seen it for a year now.

Like, we're about to be a year into this thing with Deshawn when you look at the games that he played down the stretch and this sample size. I don't know Cleveland's that much different. So I know if Browns fans came here to be like, hey, congratulations, you beat the Colts. If you hear me with a tinge of, I don't believe in the Browns,

it starts with the quarterback. You know, and I also think the defense is variable. Like, look at, look at what they did against Baltimore in the run game. Not much. Baltimore was able to, Miles Garrett, you thank your lucky stars, you got Miles Garrett.

I mean, special teams, defense, run, pass. Game record. They got him on the third down where they got a free play off him. But even if you add up, even if you gave him those seven points, he still won the game against it. Like, because he had the sack fumble in the end zone, that's seven.

He had the blocked field goal. He had another sack. Sack fumble, he ran around a tight end and a tackle. It's just no good defense. The announcers are like, if this guy could even try to block him and then you see the captain that he'll go on the tackle's chest. I'm like, this is the guy. He's trying.

He's their tackle. Like, he cares. Like, he gives a fuck. Promise you. But he looks so silly. But he looks like he's not. He's out there doing this. He's like, oh, turning up.

but Indy is reaping the benefits of that and the middle eight we talk about the middle eight all the time they're down 14 seven late in the first Indies driving Min shoe sack fumble so they've got a chance to go up 21 to seven before the half instead well actually I'll correct you correct myself on this 21 17 late in the second that's when miles won the end zone and then you end up 24 2421. So you have a chance to come out of that thing and get the ball with a lead. Instead, you go down 21 or 2421 and then you actually give up a field goal as well. So 2721, you come out of the half, minchut throws a pick with 10 minutes to go in the third quarter. They

basically dominated that middle eight. And that's where the game turned. And then the Colts still had a chance to win it at the end. We can talk about the calls. They were tough, right? They're 50-50, but again, I'm banging the same drum that I banged earlier in the show is like, you gotta win, just find a way to win, you know? Don't end up down there. Because if you leave it a chance in the end zone, you see it, it doesn't take much in this league,

unless you're the Giants on fourth down or whatever it was a couple weeks ago in the end zone. It doesn't take much to get a call. And so, like yeah, I'd like to put this thing on the refs, but Cleveland earned it, fair and square. I wanna shout out PJ Walker. This defense, though, it's up and down. You know, like they have to play everybody

like they played the Niners if they want to be talked about as a Super Bowl team because that's where you're going to win the games this year is on defense. And so, yeah, I also, I don't know, the Steelers, we're going to talk about them in a second right now. They're fucking four and two, Kyle.

You got to talk about TJ White a little bit. We are going to talk about TJ Wat. Kyle, the Steelers are four and two ever since I made a social encouraging them, I think they're undefeated. I don't want to get it. I'm happiest person in television. She likes, she likes Steelers.

I remember during the preseason, and it was a lot of people, Mina, myself, you, we were all like, yeah, Steelers are like the sleeper team to watch out for it. And then we were hiding for the first few weeks. First couple weeks,

I had to kind of be like, well, I was San Francisco. You know, we're going to send a lot of things this summer. Well, Matt Canada, I forgot about that whole thing. But I thought Kenny Pickett made some big boy throws. He made some big boy throws. I love seeing the back

shoulder stuff on the left side line to Pickens. And Pickens, you know, had a drop or two, had a penalty that wiped out a conversion. He's a polarizing player. I fucking love him, Kyle. He's a polarizing player. Even the shot you take to him in the first half. I played with Brandon Marshall, and I loved him.

I think he might be less polarizing than Brandon. You know what I'm saying? But on the right side line, and I like Brandon, on the right side line where he takes that shot to Pickens, it's right out of bounds. But I love the fact that they're even executing and trying this stuff because every time you take a shot to George Pickens for a quarter second, you're going to worry there's a flag.

If you're on defense, you're going to worry that he's going to come down with a 50-50 ball. I love that. And I just thought this was a big spot for them. I didn't think they'd win this game, Kyle. I didn't bet it. I picked the Steelers. These are two teams that I have the Steelers overwin total. I have the Rams underwin total.

I absolutely needed this personally. but I just thought this was a tough spot for them. Shout out to the defense coming out of the half with T.J. making that enormous play. And that's the thing that he can do that most rushers can't. You know, he can play off ball. He has great instincts.

He's a playmaker. You know, he just is a playmaker. And at that point, if he doesn't make that play, I think they could go down by two scores. And it's going to be a totally different ballgame. Two things. I bring up Brandon Marshall

when I talk about Pickens, because Brandon Marshall, when he was on the outside. Like you could literally say, press or off, throw him the ball, he's going to get you seven to nine yards. He's going to make one guy miss.

But at the same time, you may have a run period where he wants the ball thrown to him and you say, buddy, this is a period. Yeah, this is a run period.

And they're like, or an inside run, sir. If you don't throw me the ball, I'm kicking everybody's ass. Is that what you used to say to Brandon Martin, this is inside run, sir? No,

like, B. Please. Why are you in your underwear? Yeah. Go put some clothes on. I'd be in my underwear, too, if I was jacked like Brandon Martin Martin.

I saw him at the airport. I'm like, who was the defensive end? He's a freaking monster. He's huge. T.J. Watt joined Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor is the only player since 1982 was 70 plus sacks and seven plus interceptions

through their first seven seasons. I mean, the way he finds production is great. I never thought that his, that, that JJ's brother would be just as good. Yeah. He's just as good. And different.

And different. Totally different. Here's the thing. Here's the thing. When it counted, okay? 11 to go. They're backed up. They get a first down on the back shoulder throw to pickings.

Like that's a key play, right? So they had to have it there to flip the field to just get out of the shadow of their end zone. They had it there. Third and three with four minutes to go. You're sitting on a lead. He takes a hit. Pickett does. AD just tattoos him.

Hell of a play to get that. first down third and eight versus pressure hits robinson then you get the sneak now here's what here's here's what i'm going to say about that call at the end of the game number one if you're sean mcvay i totally understand you have to take timeouts in that situation you're playing the clock you took two of them you had to take a time out earlier to get your shit together so you can convert on third down it's hard for me to argue with the usage of the timeouts but boy you're not having them that loses you the game now i'm not saying they're going to get the ball back and score But there is one detail about this thing.

If you're complaining about that call, you were gifted another opportunity at third down. Because Deonté Johnson, who's made a lot of mistakes in his tenure as a – and I think he's a hellable player. The route that he ran on one of those conversions was – I mean, he was like out and back in, and then Pickens threw him open. Like, that's where I'm starting to see with Pickens is throwing people open, the calm to do that. But Deontay Johnson is a big part of this offense. He can't shoot him in the foot. And I'm talking about drops. I'm talking about like penalties.

And last night, that was a penalty that had the Rams gotten the ball back, had they not converted on that third down, that they had to reset up on third and eight and get the ball to Allen Robinson. Had they lost that game, Deontay Johnson would be Hollow Man. Because he walks over and he's doing the, it's just classic taunting. And Tom was John with the guy too. So part of it is just the Steelers ethos.

But like fucking calm down a little bit, man, because the game's on the line. You're lucky you got out of that. thing. Puka Nakua, I mean, the fantasy lives on. Yeah, no, he's still a good player. Like, I just don't, I just don't get how people, like, there's so many players in this league where you're like, and this guy was a UDFA, and this guy was a missionary in the Congo for two years. we haven't heard. These are details, you know. So anyways, huge win, huge win for these guys, man. Like, they're sitting with the Ravens atop the fucking AFC North. They have the same record? The same record? I think they have one less game play because of the buy, but they have the tie breaks so far. Yeah, they're in the driver's seat.

Dude, it's crazy. And, like, they're driving a slower car than everybody else. But you ever read Tortoise in the Hair, brother? Yeah, Tortoise and the Hair. You know, so. Tord is wearing black air forces. Anyways, you look at the AFC North right now, and this is just how everybody thought it would play out, right?

Baltimore Ravens 5 and 2, Steelers, 4, and 2, Cleveland, 4, and 2. But boy, those two teams in the middle, you know, if you ask most people on the street, they'd say Steelers aren't very good, and you say the Cleveland Browns are Super Bowl favorites, they're both 4 and 2, and then the Bengals at the bottom with 3 and 3.

So this division, it'd go any which way, but I do think the Ravens, in my opinion of the best team in the division and actually if they play like yesterday I would use the C word contender they just became the odds on favorite

And, you know, Kansas City, that was a big win, but you move on quick in this league. Yeah. I don't think anybody right now would say the Lions are a better team in Kansas City. And is it fair?

Probably not because you beat them head to head. But at the end of the season, are you going to say the pads are better than the bills? If the bills turn it on, it's just you got to, you have to string together big wins and big spots for me to use the C word. Okay? Or you can't expose a floor those basement levels. I think that the Ravens, what was the stat here? Let me read it. The Baltimore Ravens. reached the end zone four times before Detroit even managed a first down on Sunday. It was crazy. So that sounds like a bear's game to me. It was crazy. It was crazy.

Now, the fun part, because after all this mess, we opened the show talking about the Eagles, people down on the Eagles, the Eagles going out there and taking care of business against one of America's teams and the Miami Dolphins, the AFC. All this talk about the AFC, we just went through a bunch of teams. the class of the AFC is still somehow the Kansas City Chiefs. I mean, don't act surprise. It's a quarterback-driven league. They have the best quarterback.

I'm trying to be honest. It's a coach-driven league now. They have one of the best coaches. I'm trying to be honest. I did not see them being five and one, six-in-one at this point in the season with everything they had to work on. Yeah, and they're still working on stuff, right? You saw yesterday they're still trying to implement a true number two.

Rishie Rice having a huge day yesterday. Travis Kelsey had like a buck 80. I think, I mean, and I don't want to say it, but Mrs. Swift was in the building again. Again, sorry, Nate, the stats don't lie, numbers don't lie, USTM made a show called numbers, never lie. And you know what, the numbers are there. Patrick Mahomes was awesome.

The defense, obviously they were challenged earlier. The Chargers have a litany of weapons on offense. Echler didn't look right to me. Herbert still looks like he throws one of the prettiest balls in football. and also we talked about Beville Conway we're going to give Beville Conway out later but I'll look ahead

hey it's going to be the Chiefs of Chargers for me Nick Bolton had the wrist injury dislocated wrist he was screaming in pain I've never dealt with a dislocated wrist but man couldn't walk yeah at first I thought it was lower body and then they said he was screaming holding his wrist going to the locker room good images

you know he should be okay somebody's going to get good at building casts for that team in the training room and Nick Bolton should be able to be out there. I was glad it wasn't a lower body injury. He can still play. But we talk about matchups. We talk about strengths of teams

and Philadelphia is strong up the middle on defense and it seems as if Kansas City is strong on the back end and on the edges on defense and obviously Chris Jones down the middle. But I really like the Chiefs. I think they've maintained good health up front. They've got continuity. so they can run the football with Pacheco.

I thought their usage of Allaire, Clyde Edwards Aller was a little bit puzzling. He was a first round pick a few years ago. People have been trying to get him out of there for a while. I think there is a place for him in that offense, but they haven't pressed the right buttons with him yet this year. Yeah, at the end of the day, Patrick Mahomes is the reason for the season. He's got 360 yards going into halftime.

He threw a bad pick, but I mean, look, they're taking shots. They knew he was going to be a track meet. I can deal with mistakes from guys that I know are the guys. Yeah. But it's more of the same with the Chiefs. And to be honest, when you look back at Tom Brady and Bill Belichick and the dynasty that they were able to construct in New England, and we talked about this earlier,

there was different styles to different fights that the Patriots showed up to and won each of these times. You know, the Arrowhead Invitational, it's looking like the Chiefs, whichever version of the Chiefs decides to show up, they would be playing at Arrowhead for this Arrowhead Invitational. and it's their defense that's been good. Yeah, there was a track me in the first half,

and we all expected that, right? But what I didn't expect was Travis Kelsey to be so open. The secondary for the Chargers, the priority has always been, since I've been paying attention to this rivalry, has been punishing Travis Kelsey physically, making him feel it even on his catches, no run after the catch. We want to collide, contain, suffocate this guy after he catches it. The guy was running naked yesterday.

Yeah, it's... He was running down the field in the first half with nobody within 30 yards of him. I'll start with the defense for the Chargers, Kyle. How do you not stop the one guy, right? That, like, literally, you got Derwin James, right? There are people that bring in Derwin Jameses just to erase a guy in division.

Like, you have that guy. They have never, now, I know they might have tried, but they have never contained Travis Kelsey. And to put... He averages seven catches, 80 yards, and like a touchdown against them since 2018. And you're paying all your attention to them. Yesterday it didn't feel like they paid enough attention to him. It was puzzling to me.

And it just continues to be puzzling, Kyle, because, you know, this guy goes for, Kyle, Mahomes and Kelsey have connected on their last 28 attempts. The chances of that are one in three thousand. I looked it up last night. You know what else the chances are one and three? In the next calendar year, your house will burn down. One in three thousand. Better get fire insurance because these things happen, okay?

28 in a row. That's 28 in a row. That is like maddening on third down. And you talk about the charges coming in, giving up long third downs, even though they're up there statistically. If you look at the true third down conversion rate because the penalties and a lot of stuff, they're one of the worst when they actually get the offense behind the sticks and they give up these backbreakers. The defense played cover one 30% of the time.

This is a must have a game on the road. You play 10% cover one most of the season. You go three times as much. After you trade away J.C. Jackson, the last time I checked, the only thing he could do was play man. Okay? So I just don't know what the fuck they're thinking, Kyle. I am out on the Chargers.

They are officially dead this year. Done. Like pronounced. Tripped. Dead. Dead on arrival. Damn. Trip the breaker.

I want to blow the hunger game whistle for them. If Justin Herbert turns this thing around and makes the playoffs, man, then he deserves all the praise because he's going to be doing it pretty much alone. And I'm so fucking tired of people saying, well, it's about high time to start holding Justin Herbert accountable for the lack of wins in the Los Angeles area.

And it's like, come on, bro. Yeah, you're usually doing that because you like another quarterback. I would pay money to watch Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert level talents play against each other at the quarterback position week in, week out. It's what we want as fans.

We want to see two guys who can stand and deliver on any throw on the field. En zone to end zone, sideline and if they have to get out of the pocket, they can make the throw too. And usually Justin Herbert is off platform, which is part of the problem. Kyle, this is the, like, this was my big takeaway. The game's a lot like the relationship between the two franchises lately, okay? In the first half, it was like toe to toe,

and in the second half, the team that had more substance and is better coached and has better position players ended up, you know, creating distance and walking away with the thing. It was kind of like, is that your best shot? And honestly, that's the way I felt about the Chargers as a team against the Chiefs since they hired Brandon Staley, since they had Justin Herbert at the beginning or the tail end of Anthony Lynn's tenure.

Like, it has been a macro. Is that your best shot? Anthony Lynn. And I thought, yeah, and I thought yesterday, they closed the door on the Chargers in the West. They closed the door on Brandon Staley. They close the door on this iteration of the, Chargers franchise of the Chargers team and I hate to like to be too like you know big

picture about it but that's the reality the reality is just like the first couple games it was like oh we might have a rivalry here and I jumped out of the gym for it Justin Herbert goes in there for Tyrod Taylor he fucking stands tall almost beats those guys he's beating them before they played in classics but as time's gone on fucking the the chiefs have retooled so they got one hand behind their back, changing the way the team operates, and while they do that on the fly, they still have a way to stiff arm this franchise and say, hey,

you want to get, you want to be talked about like us, you've got to put some big boy pants on and beat us. And it was the same thing with the game yesterday. It was a start hot, and they just wear them down. And it's been the same thing in this rivalry, and I think the door is shut now. For the Chiefs, I mean, obviously the faces and names that we know, the Chris Jones

is on defense. But it's guys like Mike Dana on the edge getting home with some winning rushes late in a play. The defensive tackle, human, gosh, I can never pronounce his name. No, we're not talking about it. Who are you talking about?

So guys like this are showing up. And as the season goes on, and you know this, Chris, you've been on championship teams, world champion teams. It's like you never know who's going to step up. And you're going to get the best out of your best players, but championship teams have guys that just find a way to step up. We saw tranquil yesterday making a big play against his former team. Stuff like that happens.

The next thing you know, you're in Vegas playing for the Super Bowl. No question. And they have become that team that you can set your watch to it. They're going to figure out a way to improve as the season goes on. And they've gotten out of this, again, they've gotten out of this transition phase with one loss. And we're almost halfway through the season. Mahomes still the king.

take some numbers to create a narrative that Patrick Mahomes is unwell in Kansas City and that Andy Reed, Mrs. Eric Bion of me, which he might. I mean, I think Eric's done a great job in Washington. The run game, you know, defensively for the Seahawks, I think. I think the Cardinals shoot up some yardage in the run game. Arizona just, they're doing a great job of tanking because every week I'm like, they want to win this game. There's no way Jonathan Gannon. They won the turnover battle three to nothing. They lost. It's masterclass tanking. How do you end up losing that game? I'm not going to go too deep into that game. I want to say something about Seattle though. Go, please do it. Because I did write this down, and I rarely write things down, Chris. Jackson Smith and Jigba is a guy that people were getting on about production early, and he was a draft pick for them.

I think they nailed the draft pick. They got weapons all around him, so you can't expect Gino to just prioritize his young guy. And then obviously, Bobo and JSM, both touchdowns in the first half. Good challenge. They nailed the Jackson pick. Bobo was an undrafted free agent. On the other side of the ball, Devin Witherspoon,

a highlight NFL film style tackle on a crossing route. Here it is on the screen here. he just puts his foot in the ground and drives on this out route. Absolutely obliterates a receiver. I love the physicality of this team. And then, you know, Kenneth Walker, the third, 105 yards rushing. This team's complete. Gino can throw the ball.

They can run it. And obviously, they've got guys on the edge who can defend the pass and they can force you to try to run the football. And I think they're better than we think on the inside. Yeah. I mean, they've got guys, Coach Hurt, Clint Hurt, the D-Corpsator. He's a line-first guy. Yeah.

So, I mean, yeah, they have stars on the outside. They've got a well-coached unit inside, and they're tough. Just don't forget about this team is all I'm saying. You know, when we talk about the NFC elites or whatever, like, and I want to say elites, contenders, fuck these buzzwords. The best teams in the NFC, no, they are not, they're not Philly. They're not San Francisco. But what they are is they can hang with Dallas.

They can beat Detroit. They already showed that. They can hang in there. Just let Gino get a two-minute opportunity because there's like, there's nobody that's his conference. and it's replaying as Gino in the two-minute. When you're talking outside of the elites. Yep, yep.

So anyways, we don't have to spend too much time there, but Green Bay, Denver, they were one of the teams that Chase Long targeted. If they are going to make a move in the draft for another quarterback, doesn't matter. Your backup is in the building.
