Starting point is 00:00:00 I don't think it was the Eagles best game, but I kind of love the way that they played. Like, they seem really physical to me. I think your comment about them, like, playing from behind. Like, they are much better with their running game when they play with the lead. Yeah. And they're able to get back into and play well. But, like, it was just a kind of a complete team win for the birds. And that's what I like.
Starting point is 00:00:17 Like, to beat a good team, like the Ravens, that's what you need. But, like, good special teams play. You know what I mean? Yeah. They're five puns down underneath 20. Yeah. Exactly. They pin them underneath.
Starting point is 00:00:28 Welcome to the Green Lollinger. podcast. Thank you for jumping on two-day NFL's week 13 reactions from the fellas here at Greenlight. Chris Bo, Nate. I'll give you their takes on the weekend's action. We had some great games. Josh Allen running through the snow, newly engaged. The Eagles defense making it difficult for Lamar Jackson and Derek Henry to operate.
Starting point is 00:00:53 Sam Darnold figured it out in Arizona. The Cardinals couldn't put the Vikings away and they came back to get them. The Colts, getting a big win against New England, staying in the playoff race. A great game between Seattle and New York. A great game between Tampa Bay and Carolina. And Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh hanging 44 in the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals couldn't score with them. Great games across the league.
Starting point is 00:01:12 We have a lot of fun today. Enjoy the episode. We will be back. Later this week, catch you that. Hey, Bob. Hey, Chris. I got a question for you. What's a brother?
Starting point is 00:01:53 What's 5Q plus 5Q? It's not a trick question. 5Q plus 5Q? Yeah. 8Q. God, you are just that. What is this?
Starting point is 00:02:11 No, Nate said, Nate answered 10 Q and I said, you're welcome. I wasn't, I wasn't going to fall into your little tricks and schemes. And then Matt goes,
Starting point is 00:02:22 it's just, no, it's like 25 Q. I thought you said cubed, not cute. No, not cube. Oh,
Starting point is 00:02:29 I was going to the power. Yeah, so thank you. Hey, it's a good old Thanksgiving joke. Yeah, dad joke, dad joke in the building. Dad's in the building. What's up to chat?
Starting point is 00:02:42 I hope y'all are good. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend. What up, chat? Hope you didn't go to Best Buy and trample each other on Friday. Today is Cyber Monday. Do we have any deals or anything?
Starting point is 00:02:56 Yeah, we still got, you can get Green Lake gear. Oh, there you go. Why are we wearing the same? hat player i don't know damn dude ain't that a bit
Starting point is 00:03:08 with your lettuce you should have to take no i want to keep the hats on we have a hat um welcome to the uh welcome to the show welcome to the chat we got a lot of pro football to talk about but right off the bat i just want to tip my cap
Starting point is 00:03:26 to college football because that was a lot of fun this weekend. And you know me, I don't really like, I don't watch all year. Like I watch a little bit here and there. I watch Virginia when it's not too excruciating. And I watched a lot of college football this week. Thursday or Friday night, I don't know if you guys caught the Georgia Georgia Tech game. Just a little bit of it. I mean, my God. I'd like skip most of it, you know, early in the game. I was like, oh, Georgia Tech's making this a game. I think we'll go play Madden for a little bit. I come back, fourth quarter.
Starting point is 00:03:59 They are, they are like slugging it out. And then they go into overtime, eight overtimes. The last tag I've seen in the group chat was from Ralph, and it says, Georgia are frauds. Yeah, I look down at the score and they've seen it they won, and I was like, this must have been a crazy game. You college football knowers, though, you could tell me, Georgia probably is a little bit fraudulent, right?
Starting point is 00:04:25 I mean, they're all fraud. I think Carson's back. He's a fraudulent. man i don't think he is the it factor i feel like they're the what you're called he's great who are they are they they they're like the kansas city chiefs of of college this year really where they're winning games but just not like how they usually do it yeah so people are calling them for all but they've what they've lost two two games and and that's what i'm saying like who's the best team in college football Oregon is number one wow okay 10 team Oregon yeah nuts big 10 championship uh but best best seat i was going to
Starting point is 00:04:56 give a best seat out off the bat. Anybody that stayed up late enough. And it was after midnight to watch that game. It was cold. Those big flags were whipping in the wind. Georgia people were all in the stands. Like the teams were out of two point plays. They were just out of play.
Starting point is 00:05:12 Is it crazy when you think about like a team only has so many damn two point plays. And they're going to eight over times. Kirby Smart at the end just got pissed off and he's like, F it. I'm gonna blitz every play. Some school yard bullshit. They won on an insides. zone.
Starting point is 00:05:27 Yeah. After all that's football. That's football. You went on an inside zone. That was beautiful. That was beautiful. Yeah. I actually had a Bevel Conway from this game too.
Starting point is 00:05:38 I don't know if you saw this clip. Do you have it, Cowboy? I didn't think we'd be talking about it right away. But this was one of the coolest things I've seen. Bevel Conway is the Georgia game. Georgia player scores. These other player comes and does like a super dapp on the back of the head. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:51 Right? He hit a helmet. Boom. Fireworks. It was cinematic, dude. That looks like not. It looked like when Stephen Means got a sack in preseason and he did the hammer. He won the game on a sack, did the hammer, and then the fireworks went off.
Starting point is 00:06:06 It's like perfect, dude. There it is, dude. That's incredible. That's sick. That's incredible. The guy's helmet had a button right on top. Kirby's smart and the other coach are still hugging somewhere. That was like the longest hug ever.
Starting point is 00:06:20 And damn it, if you play a guy for four hours in a football game, you all need to hug. Like, that was incredible. And that guy's an incredible coach, Key. The guy, he down at Georgia Tech. Brink Key. And I think he said before the game, I hate Georgia. Like, there's nothing else I hate more than Georgia. Well, you just...
Starting point is 00:06:37 You got to hug me. You got to hug me. If you hate me, you're going to have to hug me. Guy looks like Jock Willink a little bit. Doesn't he? I eat Jocko Willings protein powder. I fell for it. It's probably really good, but I eat it.
Starting point is 00:06:53 It's good. For our college football, I have a hundred hollow man. Oh, I was like, do we have to? I thought we're going to talk about Virginia, and we will. No, I have a hollow man. Okay. It is going to Ryan Day. Oh, beat Michigan. God, can't beat Michigan. You got to feel bad having a season like they have, and for whatever reason, when you get to the rivalry game, you just can't beat them. And like Chris was just saying, us of Virginia, we understand that because it's like, Virginia Tech, whenever we play them,
Starting point is 00:07:28 it doesn't matter how good they are that season. They just look like the best freaking team ever. Ever assembled. Bro, they had a fucking true freshman starting that quarterback. And his first start, he goes 90-something yard time. This is where I decided. And I decided every year. I just keep coming back to it.
Starting point is 00:07:47 But I'm like, I'm over it. Because I'm 39 years old. I'm up Saturday night basing my whole mood. my whole weekend. Not anymore. No, I stopped doing that. Off of an 18 year old kid.
Starting point is 00:08:01 He's just torching me. He's torching me. Dude, so for people in the back who don't know the Commonwealth Cup history, it's not a rivalry anymore. And you want to talk about
Starting point is 00:08:12 planning a flag and how people get, we'll talk about the flag. Yeah. Fucking Bud Foster could walk into my front yard and plan a flag and I wouldn't even fight him
Starting point is 00:08:22 because it's not a rivalry. Like you have to, what are you going to do beat the guys on the field we can't beat them i went o and four against them 22 of the last 24 23 the last 25 yeah this spans generations there it's the strangest thing you know like we've had teams that were better in a vacuum but we just can't beat him and you know what eventually you got tip tip your cap to these guys and say hey we're going to shut the fuck up for a while until we actually beat you at football it felt like the last it just it is what it is at this point It's felt like the last like 10 matchups have gone in both teams are five and six trying to get,
Starting point is 00:09:00 like they need the one win to be bowl eligible. Every time UVA is hopeful and oh, we're going to do it, we're going to do it. And then tech goes to the bull. I was at the Jefferson the other night, which is a great concert venue, watching Cam Malin Whiskey. It's a very good band. Shout out to Cota. Shout out to the Eagles fans, the whole thing, but they're a great band. And I'm there watching them.
Starting point is 00:09:20 And in the basement, they have the TV with the game on. so I could kind of listen to music. And like when things got ugly, I walked out and listened to a little music. And then I was walking out and some guy was like, we're down two, three scores. You haven't given up the faith yet, have you, Chris? I was like, yeah, I've given up the fucking faith. I'm going home right now. Like, I'm not watching the end of this game.
Starting point is 00:09:38 So again, the flag thing, the flag thing is hilarious because back in the day, I feel like every once in a while somebody planted a flag. And it was like justifiably war. But now it's like it's everybody's doing it. It's just, and you said it, they're planning flags on field turf. I saw a guy trying to plan a trident midfield in the Arizona State Arizona robbery. The guy's trying to plan a trident. It's just gotten out of control.
Starting point is 00:10:07 The guy in the UNC game that threw the flag was like the guy that shot Franz Ferdinand. He started World War, whatever, what was the World War II? World War I. World War I was like not Gustavo Prince. Sure. Mr. Gustavo Princep himself just started a huge melee and it was like he knew what he was doing. As soon as he did it, he just turned back and squared up with the other guy. I'm like, y'all motherfuckers transfer every year now.
Starting point is 00:10:33 Stop acting like you care about the school. That is such a good point. These rivalry games, it's so funny because they're all fighting. It's like if you're going to be in a different school, you're going to be in the transfer portal in two months anyway. Two months. College loyalties feel completely different now. What the hell? In two months, you're going to be weighing that offer against an offer from, like, coastal
Starting point is 00:10:53 Carolina. And you're like, yeah, you know, whose fault it is? What? It's Lance Armstrong's fault. Talk to me. Wait, is it Lance Armstrong that his name? The guy who landed on the moon? Are you thinking about it?
Starting point is 00:11:04 Neil Armstrong, brother. Neil. You know, I asked him about that moon landing when I interviewed of this. Danny DeVito, Lance Armstrong. He planted the flag on the moon. Hold on a minute. Hold on a minute player. He planted the flag on the moon, right?
Starting point is 00:11:21 Hold on a minute, player. Were you in Austin when we went to Austin? Fax's in Austin. Yeah, do you remember when Lance Armstrong was in our fucking Airbnb and we were interviewing him? Yeah, I have a picture with him. No, I know, so these is Nick Lance and Neil. I get it.
Starting point is 00:11:36 No, I get it. It's funny, though. But Neil Armstrong, that's kind of like, that's like swagging off on all the other country. Like, we got here first. Yeah, but it just takes them a lot of get there and throw hands with Neil Armstrong. Yeah, the whole space program.
Starting point is 00:11:48 But Neil Armstrong actually did punch a, like a moon landing denier one time. For sure. So, I mean, you're right, Max. Yeah. Or that was Buzz Alderman. Yeah. No, but that's actually my fly on the wall since we're talking about that. The Michigan and the Ohio State antics post game, like I would have liked to have been there.
Starting point is 00:12:07 And I'm not talking about like been there scrapping with the rest of the boys, although it looked kind of fun. I just wanted to hear all the shit talk that was going back and forth. Like the slang that the kids are using these days to talk shit. I was listening to it I don't even know what the fuck they're saying man I need someone to go through and subtitle that there's like an Ohio state what you are saying one of the Ohio state
Starting point is 00:12:26 D-Ns was like crying to one of the coaches was like they can't do this this just isn't fair yeah and then Mason Graham one of the Michigan D-Ns was like beat us then gotta beat us you know what I love what the Michigan coach said at the end he said I love this clip 60 minutes to fight
Starting point is 00:12:43 and like now you guys want to fight that's the whole thing dude like This shit is lame to me. You know that? That's Jason Navon, which is the wildest thing in the world. Imagine being like a 40-year-old. Imagine being a contact balance. Yeah, he still looks good.
Starting point is 00:12:57 Tight-end tries to shove this shit out of him. I'm assuming it's a tight-down. This dude, 85 or whatever with the sully brace on. Watch this dude come up. Who's the staffer shoving? He's the shove right there, too. Who's the staffer shoving a guy who made a great career in the NFL? You know, like, come on, man.
Starting point is 00:13:12 Have some respect for the game. You know who that is? He's got like a little mask on and stuff. So, but it's like, come on, you kids, half of y'all aren't going where he's going. Less than half. What are we doing, bro? Just take your, take your whoop and go back, buy more players. There's a hilarious, there's a hilarious video of when Urban Meyer passed the torch to Ryan Day.
Starting point is 00:13:35 I put it in the group text. But it's like they made a meme out of it. It was like on a PlayStation, ironically, because isn't that something Ohio State guys got in trouble for was playing PlayStation getting free tattoos? So Urban Myers doing the PlayStation and then he hands the stick over to Ryan Day. He's hands the sticks. He's like, hey, it's your turn now. And then they cut to one of those stupid YouTube video games where guys like just driving a bus off a cliff. And it's Ryan Day, just driving the bus off the cliff. I mean, college football is like from the Syracuse head coach calling out Davo Sweeney to the flag business to it's like wrestling now, dude. And honestly,
Starting point is 00:14:15 that is the way forward for college football to compete with the NFL. Just turn it into pro wrestling. Sorry, did you see the picture of Irma Meyer drinking at like a grocery store? Yeah, by himself. By himself before the game. No, I didn't. It's incredible. He was drinking before the game?
Starting point is 00:14:33 Yeah. Yeah, like the afternoon, like in the morning. This dude, Irmaier, just cannot help himself from being photographed in ridiculous situation. Yeah, he just doesn't know. He has no awareness. He just has zero awareness. All right. So can you pull this up?
Starting point is 00:14:45 I want to give, this is more like, I don't know if we need a new mention for this, but like this is a Leo Award. This is the Leo on the couch award. Everybody knows the once upon a time in Hollywood gift. But there was a guy, Chuck Cecil. Do you guys know who Chuck Cecil is, Bo? Do you remember me telling you about Chuck Cecil, Nate? You remember?
Starting point is 00:15:06 No idea. Okay, so Chuck Cecil played safety in the NFL for the Packers back when you, the hit yesterday on Trevor Lawrence that was like every tackle this guy ever made so the game changed a lot but Chuck Cecil they called him like the barbarian or something like he was you're about to make a mention for hits like that no no no no that's not where I'm going where I'm going is Chuck Cecil was the coach of the of the secondary for the St. Louis Rams in the early 2010s and he was one of my favorite coaches he was an absolute psychopath evidently he still is Okay, before the game, Scud, Scud, Scud, like Scud Missal.
Starting point is 00:15:46 Scud Cudtsil. Dude, if you go watch his highlights, the guy was decapitating people. And Chuck, before the games, used to get really fired up and find me in Laronitis, like, you know, the captains of defense or whatever, and come up and get us hype. And we would get Chuck hype. And sometimes we would headbutt Chuck. More so Chuck would headbutt us. With no helmet on, Chuck was just headbutting us.
Starting point is 00:16:10 And I can remember before one like Thursday, game where like nobody cared except us it wasn't a big game chuck is headbutting me like he customarily does and i look up and i and i look up at chuck and he's got this intense look on his face and he's got blood streaming down his face out of his forehead he's bleeding he has headbutted me until until he bled and so you know long time goes by i know chuck's at arizona he's like an arizona legend and he's coaching down there and i see on the sports center feed this weekend guys pull it up if you can chuck cecil up to his old shit he's headbutting collegiate athletes and and causing himself to bleed pregame on the sideline when i saw this i was like i don't know
Starting point is 00:16:57 who this goss guy is but brother that was me look at this i used to be goss i don't know goss must be cool or something he loved look the way he smacks up goss now look if you'll notice chuck cecil is bleeding and he's unfazed. Look at this. He's not holding back, dude. That guy is incredible. Chuck Cecil. I just wanted to shout him out.
Starting point is 00:17:23 I could not believe it. I was like, he's still doing it. Don't you think you would have stopped? Not Chuck Cecil. Scud Cecil. I love Scud Cecil. Look at this dude. All right.
Starting point is 00:17:34 So anyways, Chuck Cecil is a G. This is from Matt Kingston in the chat. You could have just said it. Chuck Cecil is a G. just found an article saying he was too big a hitter for the 80s and the guy's like a bean pole some people just have like you know how the three of us we would consider us all physical players we all wanted to like play physical and hit hard and all that stuff but i don't think any of us really understood how to like snap our bodies like that you know what i mean there's certain guys that
Starting point is 00:18:04 just have that innate ability to snap off he was like the perfect quintessential big hit guy skinny big hit guy um before we get into sunday height football Houston we have a problem i don't mean the texans i mean the nfl the week 14 slate is cheeks and they've in week 15 now i'm doing a look ahead here the week 15 slate they stacked all the good games together pull up week 15 start with week 15 you just jinx it you know what's going to happen they need to flex one of these damn 4 p m it's going to be a great week this week
Starting point is 00:18:40 and the next in the next week's games are going to be cheeks Well, they're all good. The point I'm making is it's kind of all cheeks. Holy crap. But look at the one. The night game could be all right. The night game is going to be, yeah, but the point is I live off of 1 PM. Look at the 1 PMs.
Starting point is 00:18:54 Yeah. Okay, 1 PMs. Commander Saints, Chiefs Browns, which is going to be actually a good game. Bengals, Titans, nobody cares. Ravens, Giants, Ravens last night. Lamar's at the podium last night. Like, oh, we're coming to work. Like, that's going to be a blowout.
Starting point is 00:19:08 Cowboys, Panthers, nobody cares. Jess, Jaguars, nobody cares. Dolphins, Texas. Mexins, people care a little bit. Colts, Broncos, people care. That's 1 p.m. Now we're in the 4 p.m. That'll have playoff implication. We got, big playoff implications. We got Colts, Broncos, Bill's Lions, and Steelers Eagles all happening together. And Pat's Cardinals, like, played in a hangar. Might as well be played in a hanger. They need to flex one of these games to 1 p.m. I hate to do it, but I think it might be Steelers Eagles needs to go to 1 p.m. Now, I don't know if the NFL's
Starting point is 00:19:39 listening. Obviously, you guys like to... You guys like to listen in and make sure I'm not using your footage. Maybe you could, this is an olive branch. I'll stop using the footage if you'll flex one of the week 15, 4 p.m. And then look at week 14 slate. I mean, the problem in the NFL this year is there's a lot of bad teams, which I think also affects the way that we think of the teams with eight, nine wins. We think they're all good.
Starting point is 00:20:08 They're not all good. Especially in the AFC, a lot of bad teams. Well, this actually works out good. great for me because should we take the sunday off sunday is sunday's birthday oh that's great happy birthday it works perfectly yeah that's great i mean i'm thinking about going and doing something else other than watching football next sunday but you got saints giants jaguars titans jacets dolphins falcons vikings falcons vikings is like the only yeah you don't want to see kirk come back you don't want to see kirk back in minnesota come on wait till we talk about kirk okay panthers eagles brown steelers which you know that
Starting point is 00:20:43 That'll be, I guess, interesting. Raiders, bucks, Seahawks, Cardinals. We just saw that. Just saw it. Playoff implications. And Bill's Rams, Bears, Niners, that matters a lot less now than it did a couple weeks ago. And then, although I am excited to see, who is the interim in Chicago? We didn't even talk about that.
Starting point is 00:21:02 Thomas Brown. Thomas Brown, good. I'm rooting for Thomas Brown. You know, I thought he did a pretty good job over the course of a couple of games coming in, putting out the fire at least. but I think Iber flus somebody asked me during the Friday live show they're like talk about the firing there's not much to say about the firing but I will say this I think iber flus is going to be back on his feet in no time as a quality defensive coordinator in this league I think that's the one thing that people
Starting point is 00:21:28 don't think about when like a brandon staley or one of these guys gets fired as a head coach and he just can't cut it like there's a good chance these guys are going to be able to come back and and affect you know an organization positively as a dc like sala he's fine believe me there's nobody more fine than sala right now seriously can you imagine being robert sala oh i got i got to be home for the holidays and watch the guys look like they are not only bad football team but a terribly coached so um other side of the ball but arthur smith seems happy arthur smith seems really happy that worked out well um okay let's talk about sunday night football right before right after we hear from BetMGM.
Starting point is 00:22:10 Right after. Okay, I'm ready for it. Guys, I just want to say this one thing and then take it away. But we had two of the most... Oh, we are... This one is straight up. Also, Kingston's newsletter, we put out picks and I had a long shot parlay
Starting point is 00:23:58 last week that four game parlay that hit. And Kingston's newsletter has been on fire as well. Yeah. Yep. We're just really, we're humming. We're firing on all cylinders right now, like the Buffalo Bills. Let me say one thing. I thought, when it being good, huh? They said how was 500 being good? I'm not 500. I'm like closer to 65%.
Starting point is 00:24:22 Now that's good. That's really good. For whoever's asking, yeah. I'm making as much money this year off the field as you could imagine. I ran the odds on yours and the chances of it being luck are like 0.3%. Yeah. We're not lucky. We're good. And so to your question, whoever that was in the chat, um, take a lot of pride in our picks, man, you know, people give us shit when we lose.
Starting point is 00:24:45 We got to eat that. So when we win, you're not going to hear the end of it. All right. Uh, last night, I thought when you look back at the NFL season, there's going to be a couple of touchdowns and a couple of plays that are going to stand out in your memory as the most aesthetically pleasing plays that you've seen all year. And I thought Josh Allen, what did I say before the game? You guys were laughing at me. He's going to be a Clydesdale running through the snow. I said, I want to see that big son of bits run through the snow.
Starting point is 00:25:14 That's enough for me to watch this game. I just want to see that big ass Clydesdale kicking up snow behind him. And we got to see it. Not only did we get to see like a clash of the Titans at the goal line, which really didn't end in a big hit, but it ended in Josh Allen one-on-one with Fred Warner in the snow, just like two of the biggest baddest. You know, it's like, it's like a video game where you, you know, and then, and then, and then you get to see the Amari Cooper play, which to me, from the ad lib to the extension to the conditions they're doing it in, to the way they're rolling when they're doing it. Like, I got to say, take that Kelsey.
Starting point is 00:25:55 Oh, yeah, yeah, exactly. Top that. That's hate. Travis can. It definitely is. But this is like one of those games that I feel like, and I've been going back and forth. and you know I'm a huge Josh fan. I think Josh is QB2 in the league, if not one. This year he's playing like QB1. He's the best quarterback in the league this year. Okay? And if you do that enough years in a row,
Starting point is 00:26:15 then we talk about you just like Mahomes. But I don't think the delta between those two in a draft is that much different, you know, with the way he's played football. But I think this is a game where, and I've been going back and forth on MVP. Lamar, Josh, Sequin. And, you know, I know Eagles fans want me to say Sequin, but like traditionally this is a quarterback award.
Starting point is 00:26:38 Okay. I think Sequin, you can make a big argument for that. I felt like Josh in the snow last night watching San Francisco not be able to operate, like just can't operate. Most teams can't operate in those conditions. Josh, I mean, he hit Knox late in the game after a turnover for a chunk and you can't see. Like this guy, any weather, any situation. He can get you out of trouble. He can make the wild plays. And if this were like the Hysman, I felt like yesterday was like his Hizman moment. Yeah, he had a couple of him and he, and he, and he pushed ahead. Um, so I think he's in the
Starting point is 00:27:19 driver's seat for MVP. I really do. I know this is a weekend, week out thing. Yep. But those moments driver's seat, minus 150. We're unbelievable. Those moments are unbelievable. Chris, I got to give my best seat award to Josh Allen, man. Think about the last week. this dude has had. Okay. Got engaged, superstar actress, Haley Steinfeld.
Starting point is 00:27:38 That's awesome. Yeah. Goes out and gets a huge Sunday night football win in the snow. throws a touchdown pass to himself. Yeah. That's sick. Takes the career franchise touchdown record,
Starting point is 00:27:50 uh, from, uh, Jim Kelly. That's sick. And then is now the, you know, the front runner for the MVP also sick.
Starting point is 00:27:57 So my best seat award, Josh Allen, man. What a week he had. What a game. That was fun to watch too. And on, on that,
Starting point is 00:28:02 on that play real fast with Mari Cooper, the best quote was after the game when Amari Cooper was like, I don't know what he's doing over there. It must mean he wanted the ball. So I gave him the ball. No. It was crazy because you see Josh do throw the ball and then start to like run out to the sideline. And you're almost like, is this a design play? Right. But it's not. He, Josh after the game's like, oh yeah, we just made eye contact and he could tell I wanted the ball. And it's snowing. And he's got, he's in the grass with two people. Anyways, I think the whole thing is like, it's again, confirmation of Aaron Cromer,
Starting point is 00:28:41 the Bill's offensive line, being able to run the football, James Cook, in the snow, is really hard in those conditions to get footing. Have you played in snow? Yeah. No, I haven't played in the snow in the pros. So I've never played in a snow game like that. That looks fucking sweet. I was going to ask, I was like, by now, don't you think, like, equipment managers, like,
Starting point is 00:28:59 they would have it down pat for cleats, like, so that. Guys aren't, like, D-Lyman, like, you aren't sliding, like how you've seen guys are. I think they generally have it under control, but the way the snow was falling last night, the way they were talking, they called it like dipping dots snow. Yeah. So it was getting, like, stuck under your, under your cleats. Or dipping dots is Chris Collinsworth calling it. It's like Brady calling it, Ter Durkin last week.
Starting point is 00:29:27 So, hey, Chris, remember that game we played in? What? Which game? the one in Philly when we had to play 60 snaps boy do I remember that and it was yeah yeah yeah it was probably like 10 degrees out it was cold no it was I'll tell you what it was
Starting point is 00:29:43 snowing like that it was three degrees without the wind chill and then the wind chill brought it down to like zero or something it was crazy I just remember waking up that morning meaningless game in the standings and I was like I wonder how much they're going to play us old guys you know if you're not like a starter if you're like a third down guy or bow you're like a specialist in your own way like we played a lot in that fucking game and we were tackling he we we were tackle you kill elli and they ran the ball 40
Starting point is 00:30:12 times i'm just taking out duo double teams and five degree weather for two hours just like give me the i tell you what it was brutal but it was fun though too like because chocolate and chicken broth on the sideline is fire yeah chicken broth on the sideline slaps it's slashed is good yeah chicken broth is just great generally i just Yeah, incorporated into your diet. So bone broth. I don't mean chicken broth. Bone broth.
Starting point is 00:30:37 Yeah. Okay. Give me some bone broth on the sideline. But the point is like that snow is tough. And then when you're trying to defend the run, we're trying to get in and out of your breaks in the passing game, more so when you're trying to break on the football, give cushion, you know, stick your foot in the ground. It just made things really challenging for everybody. And I thought like both teams were able to run the ball early. But once the script got out from under, you know, Sanford's.
Starting point is 00:31:01 They just didn't have a shot. And like Buffalo is more suited for that situation in general with the quarterback and that sort of thing. But San Francisco right now, they're so banged up. You watch the starting lineup at the beginning of the game. And half the guys, you're like, this is not up to standard, you know, on defense. And then you're missing Trent. You're missing certain guys offensively. Obviously, those whole things have piled up. I just felt like when you look at San Francisco right now, I was kind of like, who are they? In their current form, what team do they most remind you of? Who's their NFL comp? And I think the comp is like the Saints. And that's not a good thing. Like where their roster is right now, tell me they're not like the Saints.
Starting point is 00:31:52 And this is no disrespect. They've done an amazing job over the last. Lynch, Shanahan. They've done a great job. Christian McCaffrey, watching. him get hurt in the snow it kind of felt like a macro thing you know it's like the run is over you know like the window is closing now you can open the window again you're going to have to pay a quarterback and you're going to have to start the movement over but like i feel like after four or five years
Starting point is 00:32:19 of conference championship conference championship super bowl and this is why i didn't pick him to win the damn west is because eventually it just catches up to you they played 10 12 more games than other teams over the past the past five years. And one of the things I was always enamored with in New England was the way that they were able to just get back and get back and get back and get back. And the floor wasn't that low. And with injuries, the floor is pretty low on this team. And I just don't think they're special with all the injuries they have. The NFC West, it is open. Like you can climb back in this thing, but I don't think this team is built to climb back in it. Not if Christian McCaffrey is going to be out for a long time. They said PCL.
Starting point is 00:33:00 so yeah just bad you see uh you see kiddle kind of like hanging his head a little bit on the bench after the game and it's like you got to think that he understands like that window is over like they're not the same team exactly all the things you just said so that's why i had them Chris is my worst flight think about playing that snow game Sunday night ball cold one you get your star player you just get him back Christian McCaffrey and they's injury and then you're what was that what was that face for You're getting on a long-ass flight on the West Coast. That's a big, that's an exaggerated face.
Starting point is 00:33:36 What do you have? Well, no, Tanner. Shout out to Tanner. Tanner put in a paper airplane during worst flight. Oh. Yeah, yeah, you see that? That's nice. That's about how I think a plane would fly taken off into that snowstorm.
Starting point is 00:33:50 I mean, think about that. I'm with you, Bo. That's a tough flight, man. That's a really tough flight. And I just for Dr. Faxon, who picked him first overall on his fantasy team as well. Yikes. This has been a really tough
Starting point is 00:34:05 couple weeks. Brandy loves fault. What would? Because Brandon loves pick. I forgot we, we called it. She set me up,
Starting point is 00:34:13 man. She set me up. I picked Christian McArthurry first in fantasy and it made me lose fantasy. Do you think she would have set you up and she knew that you're the BBC in the group? Why don't know it was funny?
Starting point is 00:34:30 The arrogance in me He thinks that that's why She picked me She manipulated it So that I did think first Hey Brandy We need a redraft Shout out to Brandy love
Starting point is 00:34:46 Hey Hey um Hey pause Hey um So so I just like a really Tough month for San Francisco Like the dudes on that team Have been through a lot
Starting point is 00:34:57 You know Um With with I was was it charvarius ward that charvarius ward they lost their their daughter oh my god you know they lost their daughter like Trent williams no I know there's two and then yeah and then Trent williams today the news broke that you know they lost um as a son or daughter at birth over the weekend and I'm just I you know as a show man these guys are not going to hear this but I'm sending as much as much positivity and prayers out to that group as we can like Trent Williams you know ward those guys are
Starting point is 00:35:36 key pieces of the team and they're not only key pieces of the team from a standpoint of X's and those but like when your leaders are going through shit like that it's unimaginable it's just unimaginable on a personal level for those families but also you know and football is the least important thing when you talk about this, but like, it's really hard to, after a loss like this, get news like that, which I don't know when that news was available to those guys, but then to come home and be like, we got to put our helmets back on and go play. NFL players are amazing at compartmentalizing, but this is some tough stuff. And we're just thinking about those guys and we're praying for them. And, you know, thinking about, because we all know how it feels to be football players and
Starting point is 00:36:23 tragic things happen around the team and you know people lose people and you know a lot of times people at home don't hear about what's going on and you got to come in the next day and be violent and being violent is a really hard thing to do anyways um it can be very easy but it can also be very hard to work yourself in a frenzy where you're just you're emotionally in a place where you can just go play free and violent and uh i just i feel for that team and i feel for those guys big time i not much else to say about that but um just a absolute tragedy thinking about Trent thinking about uh Trevor Harris Ward and um you know this team this team will be back I think shannon's a good coach but uh I will say like overall I am not impressed with how they've handled
Starting point is 00:37:10 crisis this year nobody asked for this many injuries nobody asked for this many key players being out of lineup but I would have thought look at Matt LaFleur and what he's been able to do in certain situations this year with his quarterback down. Now, I know it's a lot more than just the quarterback in San Francisco, but you got to be more competitive than that. And so obviously everything that's going on definitely affected them, including the snow. This is a next-gen stats tweet from last night.
Starting point is 00:37:38 How has the snow affected play tonight? Game ranks at halftime this season. They had the slowest average max route speed, 11.8 miles per hour. Fourth slowest combined pass rush getoff, 1.1 second. 30% of runs for 10 yards or more. That's the highest in the NFL. So definitely affected the way the game was played. Well, hey, how about you read off those next-end stats?
Starting point is 00:38:02 I saw one that was Cook's top speed. That's like 21 miles an hour on that. It was like a 69-yard run or something like that. He was flying, man. No, Cooks was flying in the snow on that run. Yeah. Crazy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:14 Yeah. So. I couldn't remember the exact figure, but it was like 21 miles an hour. I think it was his fastest run of this career. dude's from Florida and he's like yeah I like this shit right here I mean um uh at Florida speed um anyways that was a that was a fun game to watch because of the elements but I think if we didn't have snow that would have just been a stinker so um let's you got to love the bills mafia though Chris how about them throwing the snow up after all the touchdowns like that was fucking sweet like
Starting point is 00:38:45 those those fans are you got to love them you got to love them before we move on like that I want give that a shot i already gave my bevel conno yeah that was a nominee that was a runner up for my bevel and they sing mr bright side like they've been doing it for 50 years yes amazing somebody was like oh they just started last year i was like wow uh that seems like just like tradition look at that video yeah no it's cool as hell man cool as hell and there were a few there are a couple fans i think there was a father's son that drove four and a half hours or something at four 30 in the morning yeah drove there just a shovel didn't even have tickets just drove there to shovel snow and then when another
Starting point is 00:39:22 fan found out that they didn't even have tickets they just showed up to shovel he gave them his tickets what's this video from is this video from can't be yesterday you know with the sky being you know daytime but they've been
Starting point is 00:39:38 just goes to show you they do the shit all the time they love to throw snow in the air you guys are looking at it like like the nuclear codes got compromised it's just the fucking video guys just tell me it's from January 15th Yeah, see, like they've been doing this thing.
Starting point is 00:39:55 They're good at the whole snow thing. Like, they love it. Just imagine getting out of that stadium. Most populations would have a hard time doing that, like, after the game. I don't even know what it entailed. But, all right, so we've got, we're going to hit the big games that matter. I'll tell you off the top what they are. So if you're a fan of a flyover game team, you just have to wait a minute.
Starting point is 00:40:18 But we had Philly, Baltimore. That was a big one. Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Minnesota, Arizona. definitely had big implications, Chargers, Falcons, and Seattle. We'll talk about those games off the top. Starting with the Eagles. Go birds. Go birds.
Starting point is 00:40:39 Just a big win for these guys. I mean, like, has there been a win this gratifying for the Eagles in a long time? I don't think so. I'm thinking of you have to go back to last season, you know, And I think the game that they beat the bills at home was probably the last big, big win that they had. You know, maybe I'm forgetting one, but with the slide at the end of last season. They needed this win. They need it because they're chasing Detroit, and I think they can catch them.
Starting point is 00:41:15 I really do. I'm not saying they're better. They're going to beat them, you know, when they get in the playoffs. But what we're talking about here is seeding. And Detroit's got a lot of injuries right now. And the Eagles seem to be peaking at the right time. And here's the thing. They didn't even play their best game.
Starting point is 00:41:30 Like offensively did not play their best game. They took the first quarter off. They took the third quarter off. First quarter of a bunch of bad decisions on third down. Like they're going to Covey. They're taking almost like a waist. They get single high. They just take a shot in a game where they're down to score already on the road.
Starting point is 00:41:46 They take a shot to A.J. Brown. Like, I don't like that so much. Like string a drive together. You might end up down 10-0. Luckily, it was 9-0. You know, they get blitzed on the third, third down. They got no hot. Like, they were a little bit out of sorts early.
Starting point is 00:42:02 But in the second and fourth quarters, they got going. And we can talk about that. But I think the key to this game, and there was a lot that the Eagles did to win this game, but there were things that Baltimore did to set up Philly to be able to play their game. I don't think Philly wins this game if they go down 17-0. Like, that's just not a thing you want to do. I don't think you want to lean on the quarterback like that. Lamar Jackson, who has been incredible this year, we talked about MVP candidate.
Starting point is 00:42:34 His three picks are like fluky as hell. He's been, you know, just the engine predictably on this offense, even with Derek Henry. There were two big missed opportunities for him that came with the likely miss. At that point, they're up nine nothing. Okay, he's got likely. for probably 40 yards. I want to say 30 yards, something like that. They're going to be in plus territory.
Starting point is 00:43:00 They're probably going to score. And, you know, 12-0-0-0. You can live with that. But if you get on 16-0- or 17-0-0 if they get the two, you know, because extra points aren't a sure thing, that would be a backbreaker, in my opinion. And then backed up, Bo, you remember the 3rd and 5 backed up where Lamar missed Justice Hill in the flat.
Starting point is 00:43:20 Like, that's just a plain miss. and what that did is is set the Eagles up with a short field and allowed them to get on the board and the rest is history in a way and so like I hate to put things on Lamar to that degree but those are the throws you got to make he's made so many of them and he allowed the Eagles to play the game
Starting point is 00:43:38 on their schedule so to speak because he missed those opportunities I think dude like I mean you talked about it I don't think it was the Eagles best game but I kind of love the way that they play like they seem really physical to me I think you're kind of
Starting point is 00:43:52 comment about them like playing from behind like they're they are much better with their running game when they play with a lead yeah they're able to get back into and play well but like it was just a kind of a complete team win for the birds and that's what i like to beat a good team like the ravens that's what you need but like good special teams play you know what i mean yeah they're five puns down they're bad 20 yeah exactly they pinned them underneath and you know how many how much shit special teams we've seen like look at that uh jet seahawks game so many bad special teams play so much bad special teams play in the NFL. Like that's the kind of thing that's encouraging me.
Starting point is 00:44:23 Like the Eagles are 10 and 2. They're fucking good. They're one of the best teams in the NFC. And one of the best teams in the NFL, arguably best team in the NFC, blah, blah, blah. But you need good special teams play and to have complete team wins in order to, you know, get where you want to be. And that's what that was good. And then I loved all the shit on defense, too. Like I saw something interesting.
Starting point is 00:44:43 I can't remember who said it from the Eagles defense that they didn't even put like a designated spy. on Lamarja accent. Like, you know how many times you see that as part of the game plan? Might have been to Kobe Dean. It was a really good job rushing for the D-line, the front seven. D-Ly, like, Zach Bond. Jalen Carter played really well. Josh Swett rushed well, too.
Starting point is 00:45:04 But, like, to rush well, Cage Rush those dudes without a spy. Like, that's a pretty tall task. So I thought they did a really good job with that. And to be aggressive, Bo. You know how it is. You get in these games where you're like, the D-line coach is puckered up. He's afraid of the rush lanes, the whole thing. I thought for those guys to not only rush well, but aggressively and get Lamar on the ground at times, like that was a big.
Starting point is 00:45:27 But the thing I wanted to bring up was Vic Fangio, man. Like this is his, this game to me, hey, they did a good job against Cincinnati on the road. And like that turned out to be a really good thing to have as a pelt on the wall. It was like, hey, we're the last team to really slow this Bengals offense down and we did it on the road. having just inserted a rookie into the lineup as our slot corner in Cooper Gene, and you know how that changed everything. But I think Vic Fangio, when he was signed as the coordinator, a lot of people said, hey, Vic's defense is, they figured it out in the NFL, it's tired, the guys in Miami didn't like
Starting point is 00:46:05 I'm okay. The reason I like the addition of Vic Fangio was number one, adding a maturity in the building that I think was much needed. like a juxtaposition to Siriani who I'm not calling immature but he's young you know and he hasn't been doing this a long time he's emotional he's going to ride the wave and that can all be a good thing
Starting point is 00:46:25 you need a ying for that yang so you have you have a former head coach you have a competent coordinator and now he goes to work as the coordinator and here's where I think he really pays off not only are the young guys playing well quinyon Mitchell comes in he's playing well you're putting him in good positions he's erasing people
Starting point is 00:46:43 you insert Cooper de Gene that was a big decision that had to be made you've developed young players like Jalen Carter's playing his best ball right now and maybe that's just the way it goes but I think it helps to have Vic he got a lot out of veterans like BG to change Zach Bond from a guy
Starting point is 00:47:01 who they were asking to do a whole lot of stuff in New Orleans to saying like hey we're just going to give you a home to identify that home give him the home put him in the world that he's going to thrive all these things don't just happen And I think, you know, the development of these guys and also putting them in positions where, you know, they didn't play a lot of man.
Starting point is 00:47:20 There weren't bad matchups in this game from a micro standpoint. In a lot of these games last year where the Eagles were in, every game, you'd be like, what is that matchup? We didn't have those moments. And, you know, obviously you don't want your back turn to Lamar, but also just staying out of the bad matchups. I think he's brought that maturity, the development of players, the scheme, being able to. to develop your identity too from a scheme standpoint changing who you are insert people and then in a big game like this i don't think you win a game like this without a guy like that he really there's a calm that comes over a defense when you got a guy like that calling the plays and when reed blanket ship goes
Starting point is 00:48:00 out you don't blank like somebody like that going out last year and you know the margins were were thinner but i think they would have would have been in trouble so i just wanted to give him a big shout out. The Eagles are, I think, eight and no since Dom put on the headset and I call him my pies on. My vice pies on, Don Vic Fangio might be the other straw that stirs a drink with this whole group. We're paying attention. Sequin, we're paying attention. We should. And the offense, hey, in the second quarter when they just started force feeding AJ Brown, they went to the RPO's, they go quarterback run, and then they finish the game off in four minute, doing to the Ravens, what the Ravens have been doing.
Starting point is 00:48:42 Everybody else when the bully meets the real bully, that's a thing of beauty in the NFL. And I was just so happy it was our guys. They commented on that too. He said, like, I think you got a question in his postgame press or like, how are you going to match the Ravens physicality? And I actually loved his answer. It's like we kind of went into it the attitude that they're going to have to match our physicality.
Starting point is 00:49:01 I feel like we saw that too. And then one other thing I wanted to hit from this game, Chris, is I mentioned earlier, like I thought the Eagles did a really good job on special teams. The Ravens, not so much. Justin Tucker. He's in my worst seat. It's like he missed two field goals and an extra point. This is the guy who at the beginning of the season was the most accurate kicker of all time.
Starting point is 00:49:21 And now it feels like he is just in the fucking spin zone, man. Like he's got the yips. I don't know what is. Someone in the chat asked, but I think it's mostly mental. I don't really know because I don't know what it's like to be a kicker. I think being a kicker in general is mostly mental, to be honest with you. Like you're not out here taking out double teams and shit like that like us. But yeah, just a bad seat for him to be.
Starting point is 00:49:41 being where every time you trouts it out there you're like is he going to miss this and this is again one of the best kickers in the history of the NFL like you know i saw i'm on a goddamn uh commercial for a movie like that new marvel movie or whatever it's like that's that's what happened that you start the craving commercial kickers make an extra point and Tucker i honestly isn't it crazy when a kicker goes it happens right before our eyes like when when great players or good players and they all do start to down tick in production and performance it's subtle like if it's a certain position you're not going to notice like you're not going to notice if a linebacker's a little slower out of his breaks you're not going to notice if maybe a guard like there's certain
Starting point is 00:50:29 offensive linemen in the league you know that like all of a sudden you see him getting beat a good bit and like if you're not watching that team intently you might not know that guy's on a down swing but when a kicker trots out and misses a kick, it's binary. Yes or no. Can you make the kick or not? And everybody's watching. And when it happens before your eyes, it's kind of sad. I've never felt bad for kickers before.
Starting point is 00:50:52 But this year, there's a couple of them that I just kind of felt bad for. And I feel for Justin Tucker because he is one of the best ever. But you don't know where that ledge is. And it could be mental and it could be physical. But like at this point, the Ravens, they are not the lions. okay that not every game they're going to be in they're going to win by a touchdown okay especially in the playoffs and they're not going to be a bunch of games like when they played the texans last year and they're laying nine and a half points at home these games are field goal games and so
Starting point is 00:51:21 the real honest hard conversation you have to have is what's more important Justin Tucker's legacy or Lamar's window um and you know like if this continues over a next game or two they need to have skinny motherfuckers in the indoor after games and try and kickers out. I don't think they're ready for it right this second, but I think it's one more game like that away. Yeah, because what you're doing by being like, hey, well, it's Justin Tucker.
Starting point is 00:51:51 No, they got to have a bye week. You've got to have people in there this week. I think you got to have people in there. You got to have people in this week. You got to have at least. I forgot about the buy week. Yeah, you got to have like three or four guys in there for like a couple of days maybe since you do have a bye week
Starting point is 00:52:04 and have someone on deck or on the practice squad already. Because you guys are a playoff team, and that's really going to suck. If you guys heading into the playoffs, you have worries about your kicker. And the bills did this earlier this season. When Tyler Bass was struggling, they brought in some kickers to compete. And I guess it's the question of whether it's physical versus mental. It looks like he still has the leg. It looks like the ball is getting there.
Starting point is 00:52:31 So if it is more mental, how do you handle that? I don't know. competition or you know somebody like uh justin tucker of his stature do you let him figure it out but hurry up five weeks the time yeah exactly that's my doctor phil i got some dr phil added to my soundboard this week that's big we'll keep it right here i fucking we got to have the chat vote on new sound bits well before we before we move on i'm surprised you guys haven't brought it up yet but my worst seat comes from this game what And it's going to Derek Henry.
Starting point is 00:53:06 Oh, yeah. Cooper DeGine. Couped him. Sat him down. Scooped them. I have one. I don't know what this celebration is, but I like you. Should have done the too small celebration.
Starting point is 00:53:19 Oh, if he had done the too small thing. Legendary with that a bit, too small. And is that, was that his version of doing the too small? Is that like the white? No, dude, when white guys make big plays, it's not, it's never a good celebration. I like this celebration now. Yeah. I've seen Jalen Carter do this and I just want to do this now.
Starting point is 00:53:36 I want to do the thumbs down thing. It's just so simple. No, the Miami, this. I don't know why. What is that? It's like, do you know what it means? I don't. But the Miami guys and like anyone who's played out Miami guys in the league do it now too,
Starting point is 00:53:53 but I think the quarterback, he started it for whatever reason. Oh, it might be the Bama thing. Does what? Oh. It's an elephant. Elephant, maybe. Maybe. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:03 But I just think that's a, it's a funny emo. I want to see. Yeah. So anyways, the Cooper DeGine thing was awesome. I mean, that was just like, it was a, it was, uh, they're going to be showing that shit on coach tape. That shit was nice. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:16 Yeah. What do you think happens to us at this age? No warm up coming downhill on Derek Henry. Do you think we just like what happened? Fatelty. Blow him up, bro. I'm going to fucking murder him. No, I'm getting an ankle snap.
Starting point is 00:54:30 100%. Can I go in there with a whole head of steam. He's going to. take one fucking juke i'm gonna be on my face he's like probably 250 yeah i bet so i'll still he's not he's not trucking me no no no he's not six three 247 he's gonna duke the shit out of me bro i'd step on a scale yesterday i'm 295 are you really yeah so i don't think it's just gonna be easy picking yeah no that thanksgiving was good more than me bro yeah thanksgiving was good guys Bex, you're heavier than me.
Starting point is 00:54:59 Like always. Like always. I actually have a mention for this game too. Best flight, birds. Get on the bus. Not even the flight, yeah. Back home. Yeah, no flight.
Starting point is 00:55:11 Get on the bus back home. It's not too far. It's like two hours or something. Play some cards with the boys. You know someone packed about all that LeBron. What is it? LeBron Times Hennessy, bro. LeBron Times Tennessee?
Starting point is 00:55:25 It's been too long since I popped it open. Where is it? Go find your boy, Leotis McElvin in the back, too. I was using it on an off day. Penn action, yeah, I do. I do. One time had to, Big Dom had to come tell me to stop doing that on the plane.
Starting point is 00:55:46 Dom, the QB whisperer. I mean, the coach whisper. The organization whisper, bro. I told you, you know, I said that last year that I was like they moved him up. I was like because he might be secretly giving Siriani the plays. He might be. And now he has a headset and they're perfect.
Starting point is 00:56:04 Yeah. The headsets. Yeah. What would the name for an Italian offense be? The boot. The eye form? I don't know. I'll get back to me.
Starting point is 00:56:20 Yeah, get back to me. All right. The next big game, Pittsburgh Cincinnati. Pittsburgh, four. 44 Cincinnati 38. Nice. We finally admit that Cincinnati's cooked. Oh, they're cooked, bro.
Starting point is 00:56:31 Oh, they're cooked. Yeah. They're beyond cooked. I'm off this thing. I've been off it for two weeks. I still watch them. But like I just didn't want to give facts a satisfaction. No, he deserves the satisfaction.
Starting point is 00:56:41 Yeah. Yeah, but you don't deserve it in week, you know, week six or whatever, what you were talking about it. No, but he, I guess, I guess not guys. He deserves it. Week 13, yes. Fair and Square. Not week 13.
Starting point is 00:56:51 Week one, bro. Like they didn't pay. They did. You don't deserve. the win when you don't want to pay you or you find reasons not to pay your star player and like like pay him pay him i think and now i hope you have to pay him more i think the issue that i think the issue is it's one of the worst defenses assembled this decade i like by a good team where you're supposed to be competitive and you just leave that off the just leave it off the menu i i think like listen
Starting point is 00:57:21 steelers fans are going to want us to leave with the steelers but like let's put the bangles to bed that you come off your bite your season's on the line you give up 44 points now not all of them were on you there was the the defensive touchdown by pittsburgh but there were just so many jaw-droppingly bad moments in this game like early on the dink and dunk it just became a thing where russ was like hey we're gonna you're gonna sit in zone we're gonna we're gonna dump it off to a back three yards in front of the damn center and he's gonna break three tackles like that's just the way it's a bad tackling team i don't think they're very fast they're not fast up front anymore to where you know like they're disruptive but they can't get russell wilson down like russell
Starting point is 00:58:06 started to look like you know old russell out there um and he played incredible but it it just was like some of the things i don't want to take away from russ they were what what since he was given him dude like hilton and man coverage it's just i've seen the movie enough over the last two weeks even I don't want to see it anymore. Newton in bad matchups late. Hilton, by the way, in the Austin touchdown, it looks like they have two safeties playing robber, which Nolan pointed out.
Starting point is 00:58:35 I'm like, what is the play call here? Where it's like two safeties are patrolling the middle of the field, 10, 15 yards off the line of scrimmage in the red zone. And it was Miles Austin. Calvin Austin. Sorry, Miles Austin. That's an old one. throw back Calvin Austin Miles Austin had a nice little run Calvin Austin just cooked Mike Hilton but it looks
Starting point is 00:59:00 like he thinks he has safety help and so you know it's stuff like that it's the third and nine late where as many times you had you thought you blew your chances is you're down 10 it's third and nine you can get off the field and make this a game everybody's mugged up I was it was unbelievable they have three people outside tight end in the core and everybody in the core is going to block because you got everybody mugged up and they dropped Davis Gaither and B.J. Hill three yards out over the ball. The wide receivers
Starting point is 00:59:32 are out here, bro. Like I said it before, they're going to kill him down the seam and it ended up being, you know, Newton just looking lost out there. And it's not competitive. The rush isn't there. Nobody in the front affects the quarterback. It's like they wasted a bunch of rushers
Starting point is 00:59:47 just to scare the Steelers into doing something that like, this isn't the old Steelers. They can execute in the past game. And so with the season on the line, third and four with 154 to go, because you remember this, you're down six. Sinci should be, the game should be iced. They should get the ball back with like 20 seconds. But Pittsburgh holds. When you get a gift like that and you're down six, you can get the ball back and maybe win the game, Justin Fields comes in the game.
Starting point is 01:00:14 The quarterback grew a fucking foot. Why do you think he's on the field? The same guy that's cooked by Pickens. The same guy that got cooked on third and nine. it's like he doesn't know the situation. But that's what I was saying. Like that's one of those things where guys, like I wonder if like if that's a coaching thing,
Starting point is 01:00:32 like did they go over that or did they mention, hey, I thought you're going to say, I wonder if they were sabotaging because Jamar Chast didn't get paid. Oh, no, no, no. I'm just saying like, you know, it's just one of those things where I was saying, like that's why you play Justin Fields is just for that reason, for teams to have to, you have to coach it up because guys.
Starting point is 01:00:52 Oh, a third down critical moment. bring in Justin Fields and run a zone read whoa that's fucking I didn't know what they were going to do you would have thought you would think that but it's like they didn't like oh no he's going to run dude oh Justin feels ran the ball they brought him in on a inspection from a from a he uses to only run the ball and he ran the ball now from a personnel standpoint they look lost without Logan Wilson for a game where they absolutely needed you know the guy in the middle he wasn't healthy so they don't have Logan Wilson and Pratt and those guys in the middle we're just getting we're getting eating up and you know there are guys in coverage and there's multiple like usually
Starting point is 01:01:30 there's one guy you pick on in coverage you know you're playing a good defense take your pick and guys got slow on this defense it's just not you know it's sometimes when you can't it's not all subtractions they're definitely the DJ Reader thing they've let some guys walk in the secondary cam Taylor Brits been up and down but I just don't think they're that fast a group. They're not a good tackling group. It's like a total teardown defensively. And you could talk about Zach Taylor and like we got in this thing, me and Nolan driving over here where he's like, you know, the offense is performed pretty well. So it's hard to put it all on Zach Taylor. And I agree. But there's also an argument to be had for like, hey, now they're
Starting point is 01:02:09 not going to have Higgins next year. But you got one of the best quarterbacks on the planet. You got Jemar Chase. You got Higgins. I thought the Keseki edition was great. Yosevas has been playing really well. They just spread you out. and you know it's it's joe distributing the football like how hard can that be so if they're thinking about changing the head coach i think they'll be fine with a handpicked offensive mind but the and you brought up ben johnson you know like if if you wanted to do it if you want to do you have pretty good options which i don't think they're going to do it right i think they'll i think they'll fire lou which sucks because a couple years ago lou was one of the best and you were like hey he might
Starting point is 01:02:47 get a head coaching job look how far this defense is falling we're talking about getting rid of him um i don't know man the bengals should be honestly sued for malpractice because they've got one of the best quarter games when they've scored 30 points that's crazy it's ridiculous they're just they're just losing the fuck out of these dude that the other teams with these windows like their window is they don't like it's fucking like their window is not only closed but their house is kind of like on fire. But look at the bill. Look at the bills.
Starting point is 01:03:22 You want to talk about a team. Somebody asked me this weekend, what's the case for Josh Allen to be an MVP? I said, well, let's go back and look at the beginning of this season when we thought that the bills were rebuilding or retooling. The window is never closed when you have a guy like Josh Allen. And the window should never be closed when you have a guy like Joe Burrow, in my opinion. And, you know, you look back at some of these teams that have gotten a bunch of points scored they scored a bunch of points but they gave up a bunch of points as well we brought up the saints
Starting point is 01:03:49 the steve spagnolo led saints in like the early 2010s um they went like seven and and nine and missed the playoffs i think the chargers were another team in the early 2000s right i think it was the chargers yeah it was the charges i bet they were right on the line of getting in this team's like they're going to mecanos meekonos it's fucking it December just started dude they woke up this morning they're booking flights and it sucks because it's not even close at a Cincinnati i looked up online it's not a good airport to fly out trying to get to meekanos not not a good airport going to have to do a lot to hop how many connections you got to go to get to meganos i think a lot like a lot of the sites you look it up and you try to type it in and it's like nothing available so you know you got to go
Starting point is 01:04:36 to jfk you're going probably Cincinnati jfk meekinos and nate's girl's like what are you doing I'm up working. He's looking up flights to megan us from Cincinnati. But to give to give Russ credit now I know he was playing against the bad news bears but that was one of his best games as a pro period. And I've seen him played against him in Seattle a lifetime ago, chase that fucker around for hours. And I've never seen him play like that on schedule that well. Like what Arthur Smith is doing and forget about the red zone like they they got in in the red zone, which they haven't done lately, which I think is probably a function of since he, I don't think that's solved yet necessarily. But man, the story on Russ, like a couple years ago was like,
Starting point is 01:05:22 will he take the profit? You know, will he stop playing hero ball? You know, will he work the middle of field? Will he work the underneath stuff? Like, they're doing all those things and they're doing things with timing. And I just think, I just think Arthur's was a great hire. And, hey, I said this. I don't even know if they knew what they were doing when they signed Russ. but I'm watching Russ play like that. And on the other TV, Kirk Cousins is playing like that. And he was supposed to be the big signing.
Starting point is 01:05:50 And so what a job Pittsburgh's done with the hires? What a job Pittsburgh's done. 11 seasons without a losing record. Mike Tomlin's that dude. And so I cannot believe last year we were talking about axing him. You know, there were some people that were talking about axing him. You've got to give a guy like this a chance to write the ship. He did write the ship.
Starting point is 01:06:11 and those two edge guys, Herbig, who is in there for Highsmith, and of course, T.J. Watt. It's 21-all when T.J. Watt forces a fumble and starts a slide in the middle eight, which is a big part of the game, the four minutes before they have and after the half. That started a slide that changed the way game was played, and then Herbig, sending that game into blowout mode so that the Bengals really had to play from more than a possession down. They went down 17. As a result, they were hunting a one-score game in the fourth, or in the third whenever it happened but her big
Starting point is 01:06:42 just beating Orlando Brown around the corner these guys just stepping up in big spots it was a very Pittsburgh win defensively in that those guys made big plays you had Dante Jackson
Starting point is 01:06:55 interception but the difference is now they can outscore you and your guy George Pickens hilarious he's hilarious man he's hilarious but he's also like it's getting ridiculous
Starting point is 01:07:05 like what's he like yeah it's getting it's getting ridiculous he's like a b a little bit no don't do that to my guy. Don't do that to my guy, George Pickens. Yo, he's just trying to bait backs into some excitement over here. Bro, he scoped up and air shot someone in the crowd.
Starting point is 01:07:22 He shot somebody in the crowd. That is, I haven't mentioned. That's my fly in the wall. I know it's not possible, but I just want to be in his brain before he thinks about doing, doing that, like, what is going through your head that you're in a, you're in a profile? football game that you're riled up enough that like you're locked in with someone in the crowd to be like, I'm going to shoot them with my thing. Listen, there's a little agent of chaos in his brain pulling the levers. I don't know who it is. Well, I want to be there.
Starting point is 01:07:53 We all have intrusive thoughts. I want to see it in real time. The George Pick is like, like, what is it? A VR thing would be incredible. And, and I just want to see like what he's thinking exactly before it. And then like when his teammates are in his face or like Cam Hayward, like when they're talking to him, like I want to think in that moment like if he's just blanking out or like is he really listening or if he's just like, I don't care. You know in GTA you can do whatever you want. It kind of reminds me of like being in GTA.
Starting point is 01:08:23 Like he's just turned the football field and everything, the lines outside of it and the whole thing into just a GTA situation where it's like an immersive map and you can do whatever the fuck you want. You can beat a guy up in traffic. You can drive a Cessna into the ocean. But I would be, you can steal an airplane. I would be devastated for him, though, if, like, it gets down in the season and this, like, maybe cost them a game or something crucial.
Starting point is 01:08:50 Like, it hasn't that hasn't happened yet. Yeah, it's headed there. It hasn't. It hasn't. Spellers are 903. What is George Pickens like if they're not winning like this? Like, I want to know what he's like in an alternate reality when they're three and nine. Remember when he was catching the ball from.
Starting point is 01:09:04 Pickett and company last year, I think we were scratching the service, but I will tell you, there's hope because he's got a mentor out there on the field, and it's not Mike Tomlin. It's, it's Broderick Jones, who's like the same age or maybe younger, knows him from college. And every time Pickens makes a big mistake like that, Broderick Jones pulls his little mentee in, and he's like, hey, we just can't do shit like that. Like, we've talked about this, but he just keeps, you can't let Broderick Jones down, George. Mike Tomlin's like, yo, go, can you go talk to him, please? Yeah, seriously.
Starting point is 01:09:34 He just sends Project Jones. Project Jones is his mentor. You know the movie Inside Out? It's about the little girl. She has all the emotions. Yeah. I want to see the inside out, but of George Pickens.
Starting point is 01:09:45 Chaos. Because it's like all the thing. Is chaos in an emotion? Yeah, literally it's the agent of chaos jumping around and everyone's like, fuck, cage and a cage. Everyone else is just locked up. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:09:54 Everyone else is locked in a cage. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And when I see him after the game, he always seems so level-headed. Right. I'm like, bro, you seem like a totally chill guy.
Starting point is 01:10:03 Yeah, yeah. Turned it on and off. He just can't. So since we were talking about, we'll get to Chargers and Falcons in a second, but like, let's go to, let's go to Minnesota where,
Starting point is 01:10:15 and I don't know if a lot of people saw this game, because, you know, I don't know. It's one of those games that was a big game, but didn't feel like it. And, yeah. Well, it was kind of like,
Starting point is 01:10:28 the quarterbacks couldn't get going at the beginning. So it almost, you know, it was kind of like the third quarter. There was, I give out the overall. landed on 45. So it was a field goal game and like in a game like this, I'll get to it and the Cardinals botched some things. But I think we said it before the game. It's going to come down to how these guys handle Blitz. And I didn't even realize how poorly Kyler's numbers had been shaping
Starting point is 01:10:51 up against the Blitz this year. But it played out yesterday and B-Flow was just hitting the blitz button. 62% bringing extra rushers, 41.5, 41.4.41.2 rating for Kyler. That's not good. Cards blitzed almost 50% of the time. And they were given Sam Darnold hell on third down early. I think Nick Rawls is doing a great job. This defense has really taken shape. Can you imagine what the Cardinals look like when they had some talent to this defense,
Starting point is 01:11:18 like at every level of defense? They're doing a great job. Him and Gannon, I can't say enough about what they've done. But ultimately, I think Sam was 86.5 rating against the Blitz yesterday. And so when he took sacks, he took sacks. But when he didn't, and it felt like they started force-feeding Jefferson at the end of the first half into the second half. So they started figuring things out a little bit. But I thought the Cardinals mismanaged this game in a lot of ways.
Starting point is 01:11:50 Okay. Number one, I don't think they could take advantage of Moreau coming in for Gilmore. Like just Marvin Harrison Jr., who's not a great man separator yet, right? You said yet. I said he's not. He can still be a great jump ball guy and all that stuff, but like you need guys that can separate. And when a team's willing to man up this much, which you really shouldn't be able to do against a little waterbug quarterback. He does not play well against man coverage.
Starting point is 01:12:15 And I think part of it is because, hey, Dorch is a good separator in short areas. But like we need some guys other than Trey McBride that can get open. And, you know, I don't want to put, Michael Wilson made some incredible catches in this game. But in general, I don't think they're as good as we maybe make. them out to be because of that you know like and i think from a standpoint of the red zone every time they got down there they had penalties i mean like right down to the last one where they're their first and five with a chance to go up two scores in the game right and instead of going up two scores in the game there's a pre-snap penalty i believe it was it makes it first and goal from 10 which is as
Starting point is 01:12:54 hard a three set of downs as you can have and then they go with a uh you know an intentional grounding uh So a ton of red zone penalties. And then the end of half sequence to me was a real head scratcher. In a game where there's a lot of field goals being kicked, you want to get, you want to score a damn touchdown when you have an opportunity. And I thought it was worth the shot to take one more. I think it was 17 seconds.
Starting point is 01:13:20 They snapped the football with no timeouts on like the 15. 17 yard line. 17 yard line. 17 yards. First and 10. First and 10. 17 yard line. And they hit maybe an in cut or something.
Starting point is 01:13:31 McBride. for 11 yards. McBride for 11 yards. So you're on the 6-yard line. Mm-hmm. You have one opportunity. Seven or eight seconds left. Seven or eight seconds left.
Starting point is 01:13:41 They're on the ball. Spike it and get one more. Get one more shot in that game. Ultimately, that makes the difference, right? Yep. And they run it down two and they kick the field goal. So I didn't like that. And then not going for two to possibly make it 20 to 6.
Starting point is 01:13:56 They make it 19-6. That one came back to haunt him in a big way. You could say not going for it on fourth and four up three at the four yard line late in the game yeah i don't know why you wouldn't why wouldn't i don't like who was calling that game greg olson maybe i think he said that greg olson's calling the at all yeah go for that didn't understand that one and then early they opted for a field going forth and two so like any one of these things if you'd have done them differently in a game with margins this thin you probably win the game but they did not and they didn't take advantage of it and
Starting point is 01:14:29 And it kind of proved eventually in some spots in this game that if you make Kyler earn it, eventually he's going to do something crazy. But I want to give a lot of credit to Minnesota's defense. I thought the corners hung in there. I thought Cashman was all over the field. And then John Grenard, he's my STL Memorial. I'm a big fan of John Granard. I like his game. I'm partial to his style of play.
Starting point is 01:14:54 There were three moments in this game late, and he had a bunch of big plays all day. But third and seven, 1913, Wilson is going to be open on the deep over. He is open. And Grenard runs through the back. He runs by the tight end through the back and makes Kyler bubble where he can't see the deep over. It's wide open. And in a situation like that, he doesn't get the sack, but it's a huge play. He also forced the intentional grounding in the red zone to keep the lead from ballooning 10.
Starting point is 01:15:22 And then he had the sack fumble and the two-minute drill. And then two plays later, he runs Kyler down in bounds. This guy was on fire. Like to finish a game like that, we talked about Leonard Williams last week. You talked about Leonard Williams this week. But it's like being shot with adrenaline is the feeling you get at the end of a game as a rush when you're doing shit like this. And just to see him fucking out there having fun and making plays in different spots and just he kept showing up. Look at what Minnesota's done.
Starting point is 01:15:51 Look what Quasi's done. They build the cashman guy mentioned came from Houston, right? Yeah. Grinard, guy mentioned Minnesota and Houston. I know we know how much they love Minnesota and you love Minnesota up there. Aaron Jones came from Green Bay.
Starting point is 01:16:07 Sam Darnold came from lost and found. These are all guys that, and Aaron Jones fumbled twice early in the game, didn't see the ball until late, scores game winning touchdown. They got something a little special in this locker room and I don't mean it's like
Starting point is 01:16:20 they're like juggernauts, but they have a special it factor about them. They have a good vibe going. and everything they did this offseason really turned to gold a little bit. And these guys are making big, big plays. Good for Daniel Jones. Yeah. Laning there.
Starting point is 01:16:35 It's cool seeing him on the sideline. Oh, we didn't talk about that, but that's a great point. Yeah, I always feel good about that. Like, when a guy, if you're in a situation, like Daniel Jones, obviously, you're not going out there trying to lose games. You're trying to win, and you're trying to hard, and you end up just not being on a bad team. It's cool when guys get to, like, it just flips, like, overnight. Like you were just on the terrible team, and now you're in a different locker room, a way different atmosphere.
Starting point is 01:17:02 And that's cool that he gets to experience that in a season. Can I call you Dr. Fox now? Seriously. It's a good look for you. Shout out to the Cherry Festival. Yeah, Montana. Yep. Yeah, this dude, like, when he comes to visit me in Montana, he's like going thrifting the whole time.
Starting point is 01:17:21 So, um, the real fast, the, you know, you mentioned Sam Donald. You find him in the lost and found. Shout out to him. So they were down 196. They go three scoring drives. He was 12 of 17, 151 yards, two touchdowns. All three of those drives scored. Fourth down conversion was 12 yards to Justin Jefferson and a 12 yard scramble.
Starting point is 01:17:44 And before that, Sam Darno was 0 and 23 when down 13 points. And now he is one in 23 when down 13. Also goes to show, Matt, find me a quarterback younger than him that's been down 13 points more. That's a lot of fucking being down 13 points, which just goes to show you how fucked up situations are when you're in situations like that. And like, again, if there's one thing, you at home and you feel like, hey, you're coming to this show to learn some ball. And I'm not saying we know everything.
Starting point is 01:18:16 But the one thing I want to impart, if this show stopped tomorrow, is that you cannot boil players down. you cannot you're knocking on wood you cannot boil players down to where it's like I know who that player is like I've written the obituary on this player I know I know why I know he's not good it's like the Zach Bond thing it's like the Sam
Starting point is 01:18:39 Darnal thing it's like they're just count Bryce Young we're gonna talk about him in a second okay I'm not saying he's arrived but boy does he look different than he did in another circumstance so circumstance matters context matters and I'm really excited
Starting point is 01:18:53 for Sam Darnold and I'm I'm excited for KOC because I think he's one of the best coaches in the NFL. I really do. Guy I have a lot of respect for him and B-Flow doing a great job, predictably gas pedal to the floor against Kyler Murray. Just blitzing out. You think B-Flo be a head coach next year, Chris? I don't know about next year, but I hope he does soon. I hope at some point he gets another shot at it because his first, his first stop wasn't, it wasn't a disaster. You know, wasn't, you know, was he mean to some people? maybe but like imagine how much guys defensive coach you'd be mean to some of his players I know I know but I don't want to get into that whole thing this game I think we also need to give
Starting point is 01:19:33 a shout out to to trade McBride he's got one less receiving touchdown than Josh Allen on the season yeah but he is touched every single part of the field with the ball he's an amazing player he really is and it's another reason you can't stat watch right looking at this guy he doesn't score any touchdowns bro that guy's a nightmare out there just they haven't been able to get him damn ball. 12 catches on 12 targets. Yeah. Just every single pass is catching it. He's a great player, man. Great player. He really is. A lot of fun.
Starting point is 01:20:00 Okay. Now to a game that was not fun. Chargers. Chargers Falcons. We'll do our MRP at the end of, at the end of this breakdown. Oh, MRP. We'll save the MRP for the end of the breakdown. Okay. Chargers Falcons. Now, I think it's time that we had a conversation
Starting point is 01:20:18 about the velocity or lack thereof on Kirk Cousins throws. I think Atlanta fans are probably... That out. Ball speed. You know what's also... Oh, my God. You know what's also hilarious to me? Oh, the, bro, the balls outside the numbers that he throws, they look like bags of money.
Starting point is 01:20:40 For cornerbacks. Get the social teams on that for that pick six or that rookie. Dude, honestly, it looked like, yeah, still had two picks. get through four of them um you know like i went last night 11 30 i'm sitting in there i'm like why are you working go to bed what you don't have to watch anything else i started turn on 2018 kirk cousins because i wanted to see what the ball look like coming off his hands you know i know it looked different but the torque that he was able to generate off that right foot
Starting point is 01:21:13 because he kind of opens the bucket and that and that right foot is kind of where he's would generate some of the torque. Now he's just kind of hanging that thing back behind him. He's not really snapping those throws off. And, you know, I know it's easy for people to see that he doesn't look the same, but go back and watch Kirk in 2018, 2017, 2019. There was a lot more velocity on that ball. And I don't know if next-gen stats could, you know, mile per hour.
Starting point is 01:21:44 It'd be like speed trapping in a school zone. I don't know, you can't live off 20 mile per hour in cuts. That's all we got right now if you're the Falcons. And, you know, like, I feel for the guy, he's been a great quarterback in the league. Like, what he's accomplished has been incredible. And I'm not saying he's dead. It could be a thing where next year he feels a lot better. And they just, they do.
Starting point is 01:22:09 But right now, in his current form, Atlanta is the most purgatory team in the league. Like, I don't know where you're going. and I don't know how you plan to get there. I don't know if it's Michael Pennix time. Pemix. Pemix. Here's the question I have. Rest,
Starting point is 01:22:31 Kurt, rest of them. This is the only question I have. What is best for Michael Pinnock's development? Because he is the near future, not the future. So if, I'm going to rest. Kirk this week, they're playing at Minnesota. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:22:44 This is his last chance. This is last chance. Last chance. Last chance you. Now I'm not saying, listen, I try to be a lot, and I got a lot of respect for Kirk. But father time comes for us all, and especially when you're off in Achilles,
Starting point is 01:23:00 like I'm watching the balls. And then there's the first picky through, it's not all arm. He's double clutching, staring down a receiver, and then throwing it there anyways. In the red zone, I don't know what that was. If he didn't wear flannel
Starting point is 01:23:16 and he wasn't such a mensch, I would say he was point shaving. I don't know what I don't know what that throw was and so I think I think the physical is affecting the mental now and it's perfectly understandable why he came out this year
Starting point is 01:23:31 the first game you know we're kind of wondering if he can move and they're like no big deal nothing to see here like they're in certain sets that dictate he doesn't have to move right and so we seeing him mobile and throw that
Starting point is 01:23:45 being mobile in the pocket climbing the pocket and throw that pick in the end zone it's like yeah don't move like that look that that was that was hard to watch man so i don't think this team i don't care if it was patrick behones on this team i don't know where they're going like i don't think they're that good like but you do have to make a decision here for the future and so if you think pennick stealing a few starts at the end of the season whether you win the division or not that's not the important part now i know for a head coach you're like oh winning a division in my first year in Atlanta would be a nice feather in my cap, but it is the NFC South. Where are we going? And so I think it might be
Starting point is 01:24:21 Pennix time. What Cousins is to me, and I say this with all due respect because these two guys were great quarterbacks. The one of them is one of the best quarterbacks of our generation, but he's like Matt Ryan and Indy. Right. It's where does this go? Where do you intend on this going? You took the chance. Great. It's not working out. You know, and, So maybe he's dinged. Maybe he aggravated something, but he's for sure not right. And he wasn't right coming in the season. So, yeah.
Starting point is 01:24:55 Get a little excitement around the team. You don't get your fan base, you know, get stoked for if you don't make it. Sell tickets. Exactly. Fuck. You got him there. You got that guy sitting in the number two spot. And at worst, you know, like Kirk Cousins is still there.
Starting point is 01:25:11 He needs to go play Week 17, Week 18. Yeah, no, no. He's a good guy to have. have if yeah if you know so the the work he gets dinged or he's not ready i mean like if anything a break would be good for him right maybe not this week because like you said they're playing minnesota so reverse bryce young thing i looked on falcons reddit today just to see how those people were living because i think it can be kind of not i don't want to say it's fun but it is interesting it's like watching a car crash you you like to go see what the fans are talking about when they've hit rock
Starting point is 01:25:40 bottom and this guy on reddit uh his name is runs with airplanes uh he posted a meme where you remember the movie old yeller yeah he's superimposed poorly uh kirk's face that's my favorite part when you superimpose things poorly you don't photoshop well you put kirk's face like in a cube over old yeller's head and uh the caption is i'll do it he's my qb take him out back that's Unbelievable. Damn. Just like, and how quickly it happened with Atlanta. I can remember last year when Atlanta, like, there were certain fans in that fan base that were like still fighting for, for Desmond Ritter, like deep into the season.
Starting point is 01:26:23 And now they're like, they're just like the torches are out for Kirk. You know how bad it has to be for the torches to come out quicker for Kirk than they did for Desmond Ritter? It's bad, bro. So I just want to say Chargers are atop the wildcard standings. in the AFC, right, as a result of Baltimore's loss yesterday. Yeah. So how do you feel about the Chargers? I don't know how to feel about them, though.
Starting point is 01:26:48 I know how to feel about them. I feel like they're going to lose in the first round of the AFC wildcard to like a Houston for like Houston. I think it just all depends on the matchup. I don't think they look great. I think I'll give it to them. It was a short week. They played one of the most physical offenses in the league last week. They had to travel east.
Starting point is 01:27:07 They had injuries. So I'll say this, the Chargers deserved credit for. And they're ahead of schedule. Like for the charges to be here right now, like predictably ahead of schedule with Harbaugh. That's what he did in San Francisco. Yep. But the thing is the receivers,
Starting point is 01:27:22 you can't try. It was McConkey. He leaves the game 33 yards, eight receptions for everybody else. And with Dobbins down, who Dobbins is a good back, right? He's a good back. I don't put him in the class with the best guys in the league.
Starting point is 01:27:38 So even when he was going for A to pop early in the season, and you were like, hey, this isn't going to last forever. I just don't think from a talent standpoint, offensively or defensively, that they're there yet, but I think they've done a great job of getting out going. Now, if you're close defensively, I think. Yeah, I don't think they're that. The secondary is a, Derwin James played great yesterday.
Starting point is 01:27:57 I also thought Di played really well. Troy Dock. They have a bend don't break mentality right now. And I just, I just feel like to win a game, only giving up 13 points, like when you're not that good of a defense, but it's like holding on. I mean, I feel like that's still like a good win, and it's something that as a coach and a team,
Starting point is 01:28:18 you can build off of. I don't think they're there yet from a talent standpoint. I think there's some young, exciting play. Like, that guy still has been playing pretty well. Derwin James had one of his best games of the season yesterday. You know, Khalil Mack still playing like a freaking pro bowler, man. Now, he's up, though. He might not be back.
Starting point is 01:28:39 There are some things they're going to have to do. The point is they're ahead of schedule. It's nothing to panic about, but the limitations are real when you've got to go to guys like Rager and Quentin Jefferson, not Quentin Jefferson, Clinton Johnson, Clinton Jefferson. I'd hate to throw the ball, Quinn Jefferson. Guys, he can't separate. He's like 330 pounds. So, Quentin Johnson, you know, he's got a lot of drops.
Starting point is 01:29:05 Just when you, to win in the playoffs, especially when on the road, which they would have to do. You have to convert on third down. You have to be like you have to, those third downs in the playoffs on the road feel crazy, dude. It's just like, it's like everything is, every detail is so important.
Starting point is 01:29:25 Every contested catch matters. You can't have a possession sunk on third and four because Quentin Johnson drops the ball in the flat. You can't have, you know, if you can't run the ball, if Dobbins is banged up, if you give up five sacks to the Falcons. Like the Falcons hadn't had five sacks in ever.
Starting point is 01:29:44 That's a good point. And so I do have worries about this group. But I'll tell you, all eyes are going to be on them against Kansas City Sunday night because I do think they're capable of beating Kansas City. As much as we sit here and we're like, oh, they're not going to make a run. They can beat certain teams.
Starting point is 01:30:04 And I think Kansas City is one of them. Going back. Chris, Oh, I wonder what happens with my conspiracy. Is it like they have to win because they're the only brothers playing? Who? Or if he loses, does that like kind of, they both didn't play. So the Harbaas?
Starting point is 01:30:21 Yeah, next week. You decide. Yeah. The free play. Yeah, it's your. Either one. Wait until the results shake out. Choose your own adventure.
Starting point is 01:30:33 But I want to say this about the NFC South. Bo is Falcons, where you got something on the charge? before I go back. Just a little bit. I was thinking about this. It's like it feels to me maybe like there's a, there's a group of teams right that are you're in this critical moment in December. And what's a quote that Bill always says where it's like real football
Starting point is 01:30:54 doesn't start until after Thanksgiving. Yeah. Exactly. And it's like it feels to me like there's a group of teams that are really getting better. You know what I mean? Like late in the season. Yeah. Eagles, Packers, Steelers, bills, maybe the Rams.
Starting point is 01:31:07 I don't know. And then there's teams that are just, and what I'm trying to say is like, I don't know if I'd necessarily put the Chargers in that category, but I feel like they've kind of gotten better over the course of the season. They like found their identity a little bit maybe. And then there's teams getting worse, okay. Like the Ravens, I feel like they're getting a little bit worse. Like you brought this up last week. Like I don't, like they might not make the playoffs. There's a world that exists in which the Ravens don't make the playoffs, which is crazy.
Starting point is 01:31:35 What they showed me against the Chargers made me. feel stupid for a night because they look really good that night. And honestly, like the defense in spots yesterday, I'm not, I'm not writing them off, but they're just kind of undisciplined. And I think there's enough matchup problems defensively that's going to get them in trouble. But yeah, no, who is? Let me finish this thought. Go ahead. Falcons are absolutely getting worse, especially with their quarterback away. They're terrible.
Starting point is 01:32:04 The 49ers, like tough to watch on Sunday night. But then like the Chiefs also. So like to me, this matchup that the Chargers have next week against the Chiefs is going to be a huge one. It's kind of going to tell me like, okay, are the Chiefs ready for the playoffs? Like they've been,
Starting point is 01:32:19 it's crazy to think that they only have one loss with the way they've been playing the last couple weeks, especially last week. But if the Chargers hand them a crucial loss in the AFC, like I don't know. It's going to kind of tell us a lot about the play playoff picture going forward. Like are they ready to play postseason football? I don't know.
Starting point is 01:32:34 I don't know. I don't know if they're ready to play. Kansas City, I don't know if they're ready to make a run on the road like they did last year. What they had last year, and I think there's an interesting narrative going on right now. Of course, talking about the chiefs, their viability, you know, at one point we're like, they're going to win out. And now a couple weeks later, people are like, are they going to win at all? You know, like, that's just the way things are. And last year, when they were dropping footballs and all this stuff, there were a lot of instances where people were saying they were washed.
Starting point is 01:33:03 And I didn't think they were washed. And I thought they could still go do it. And I picked them to go do it. But I'm not going to do it this year because the difference is defense. Defense travels. Okay. So you absolutely need home field advantage if you want a shadow of a chance to run the table and go do this thing because your defense, honestly, you've got to generate pressure
Starting point is 01:33:23 and you have to create situations where because of the crowd noise, because of the atmosphere, because of the vibes on the field, you can steal plays defensively. They're not a team that's going to go out there in an empty stadium. them all things being equal and look good defensively right now. Like we saw it against Carolina. We saw it last week against the damn Raiders. And the Raiders last year beat them, right? But I thought this was even more troubling because last year they had all those mishaps
Starting point is 01:33:50 in the first half that were totally avoidable. And the Raiders had this element of surprise where they were like, okay, we're going to try to treat you like, we're going to bring Antonio Pierce's like kind of mindset to the ballgame. Ken City knew it was coming. they remember last year around this time and they still almost lost that game because they were giving up verticals they're giving up explosives like that's not who they are that's not who usually who they are and i think offensively they'll be fine but they're going to have to outscore people which is a kind of a different deal in this chapter of the kansas city chiefs and i just don't know if the defense
Starting point is 01:34:27 is good enough so like for people writing them off i'm not saying they're right and writing them off but it is different than last year, in my opinion. And so this Sunday is going to tell you a lot because if they lose this game, I have a feeling that they're going to be going on the road in the playoffs at some point. And that is everything for this team right now. If they can play at Arrowhead throughout, then they have a fighter's chance. But I have a hard time imagining they can go on the road and do this thing. We're talking about the Falcons.
Starting point is 01:34:56 By the way, the end of that game, the Raiders game, as I understand it, and I wasn't aware of this, but it has to do with an illegal formation being a deadball foul or not being a dead ball foul based on if the clock was running before the snap. Yep. So good luck explaining that to a live broadcast on Black Friday where everybody's gambling a fuck ton of money.
Starting point is 01:35:25 You know, like the people that had Raiders money line had to be sick, you know, which was a fair bet to make. Like it was 13 points. You're like, I guess why not? I thought the Chiefs would roll. They ended up in that situation. At the end of the game there, you know, the center said it. The quarterback said it the loudest.
Starting point is 01:35:43 He was like, that's on me, you know? Like what happened there is he's hurrying the snap up and guys aren't set so he's not even looking at the snap. And he made the mistake. And so a lot of people say, hey, the Chiefs were given that situation by the refs. I think it was just a complicated situation that we didn't understand the moment. And there were also two refs.
Starting point is 01:36:02 There's one ref calling false start. I think there's another one who ultimately overruled the other ref. If I'm understanding this correctly, who's calling a legal formation, right? And so that is the call on the field. And in that situation, in some weird wrinkle, it's a live ball. So, I mean, I know people think the chiefs are handed all this shit, but I kind of understood the explanation once they told me about it. And don't fuck up the snap with the game on the line.
Starting point is 01:36:31 Well, and what were they trying to do, right? Antonio Pierce said they were trying to... That was the dumbest shit I've heard. Antonio Pierce said, hey, we're gonna... We were just snapping it to, like, waste a couple seconds and throw it away. Not to make it an easier kick for Carlson, who'd missed a bunch of kicks already. Right. So, I mean, listen, the Chiefs...
Starting point is 01:36:52 Be on the same page when you come out of the timeout, come out of the huddle. No question. No your snap count. And snap the ball, have them run for a couple yards and kick that for. field goal. Except that's what the Broncos did and we saw that worked out. Yeah it did not work out. They're trying to do something different. Falcons have remaining Vikings, Raiders, giants, commanders, Panthers. They're in a dead heat with the bucks and they have the tiebreaker, Raiders, Chargers, Cowboys, Panthers, Saints. BetmGM has it almost dead even. Falcons minus 115, bucks minus 105.
Starting point is 01:37:25 Which goes to show you that BetmGM feels like that the bucks are going to have a better record. Yeah, because it's a little more heavily weighted to the Falcons because of the tie break. Yeah, they're essentially a game behind, so it's projecting them to win. No question. But the good news for Bucks fans, if you're into controlling your own destiny, you got that going for you. You went out and you're in. And this is interesting from what I read, if the commies beat the Falcons late in the season, that would give the Bucks the division if the Bucks won out.
Starting point is 01:37:52 And if the Falcons won, it'd give the Bucks the Wild Card. So this is all if you win out and you're the Bucs, which I think is, it's within the realm of possibility there's there really you look at the the matchups here like you can lose any game in the NFL I mean I don't think the bucks are world beaters but I have a hard time thinking if they come to play their brand of football the raiders are going to beat them the panthers are going to have to go down to to Tampa they're not going to be able to sneak up on them the saints that's a tough one end the season right in division charges and cowboys you know those are the big ones and we know how poorly
Starting point is 01:38:29 the Cowboys play at home? Yeah, not anymore. Pretty good you to make that bet. I'm glad I talked you out of that. Saved you like $5. Should give him a cut. Yeah. I'll take like a dollar.
Starting point is 01:38:43 So, speaking of the box. Real fast, before we get to that game, we've got to pick our most random player. We picked it on Friday. The matchup was Chargers Falcons. And again, if you enter this, every Friday, we do on the preview show,
Starting point is 01:38:58 we pick a most random game. of the week the winner gets some green light merch we've got a couple people a couple entries moses berino king dunlap shout out to raw room oh king dunlap i like that danny woodhead danie woodhead jquiz rogers um um uh we're gonna algae algae crumpler stanford steve's favorite quinn jammar how about nick hardwick i climbed kilimanjarr with him and louise castillo a very early green light uh friend of the podcast yeah no question question. Harry Douglas, Manti-Tayo. Lorenzo Neal out here. Marion Butts.
Starting point is 01:39:36 Algae Crumpler, Peerless Price. Oh, you knew it. You knew it. Ryan Yeager, you knew it. Brandon Manu Malayuma, Malina. He was, and you listen to this podcast, obviously, you're paying attention, Ryan, so I want to help you out here. Congratulations. He was the biggest blocking tight end ever. He was like a 300 pound, like just huge dude. And he was like a tackle.
Starting point is 01:40:06 And you had to line up in a six technique and get that work from him. So shout out to Brandon. Manu Malayuna. Shout up. Fear into my heart, my young heart. I don't know about fear, but I took that shit seriously. I was like, damn. Okay.
Starting point is 01:40:22 Damn, son. So bucks, get a win. I just say this, Bo. your bucks your buddy Anthony Nelson right that's his name huge play from Nellie in overtime that fumble when you look back at the season and you win division and you know you look back and you say it's a 30% playoff probability swing from 59% to 29% this guy makes a play in overtime when the Panthers are probably lining up to kick
Starting point is 01:40:51 soon at some point because you already had your shot at it just an unbelievable play and a nestale memorial was what him the peanut you know that was huge yeah it's huge Baker mayfield 11 of 12 uh finished finished game 11 of 12 for 11 14 in the fourth quarter and overtime he got absolutely folded up had to come back in this game um and he started 10 to 21 for 121 yards with touchdown two interceptions so he was bad through three quarters they knocked some sense into him. Is that what you like to say, uh, Nate? And then he came back out and was slinging that pigskin a little bit. Um, but Bryce Young, another really, and if it weren't for damn, if it weren't for Eddie Pinheiro, um, point shaving out there, they would have been home free.
Starting point is 01:41:44 I mean, like they had multiple opportunities to win this game. Justin Tucker was obviously, I think he's missed eight field goals this year. He was the most accurate kickers. Since he missed all those at was Penaero. He missed that. So now he doesn't hold the record either. It's like the top spot it's cursed. I'm not sure who's in that lead right now after the weekend. But whoever is those two dudes
Starting point is 01:42:06 are, I mean, they're fumbling the bag. Totally. I don't know about kickers contracts or whatever, but like, do you think it's like automatic in most kickers contract? Like if you end the season, like with the highest percentage is some type of bonus? Probably. Because that's like putting around. Like a not likely to
Starting point is 01:42:21 unlikely to be earned. And right now, Harrison Buckker. So think about that shifting right now. If you're a kicker, you're just like, oh, shit. Oh, yeah. I'm in the lead. Oh, yeah. Extra half a mill coming to me.
Starting point is 01:42:34 No. So, Chris, we've been talking about the NFC South, you know, division who's going to come out on top. The good news for the bucks offensively, like they've lost Godwin. They got Mike Evans back. Mike Evans gets my game ball this week. He made that touchdown grab look so easy. It was such a great catch. And he always has those circus catches that looks so.
Starting point is 01:42:52 good. I had eight receptions, 118 yards and a touchdown. Welcome back to the field, mics. And then also, if you're the Bucks, you had to be loving Bucky Irving. He's a baller. He is so good. The Bucks have been really weak in their rushing offense. The last, whatever, I don't know, two, three seasons or the previous seasons, I think they were dead last in the NFL in their rushing offense. And like, to get him back, like, he just gives that offense so much juice. So, like, he got to be pretty stoked about that. And he's great in the past game, too.
Starting point is 01:43:23 He had three receptions for 33 yards. He, so that was, that was good. Guys, that's a good bucky. Clowny still out there making plays. Clowny's still making some plays, dude. Yeah, man. I'm a clowny fan. Me too.
Starting point is 01:43:35 How about that feeling? Do you see that feeling touchdown that they didn't, uh, they called it back? Yeah, that was tough. I want to ask you to catch it the first time. They said they, there weren't the replay, the replay, they didn't have the right amount of, uh, cameras or something like that in the field. Well, because the game was so. like low class.
Starting point is 01:43:51 And shout out to Thielen and Mike Evans. Still balling. Both older guys that they kind of got injured the same way where their hamstrings, they made it seem like their hamstring were just like hanging off their bones. Yeah. Like after trying to catch a touchdown pass or catching the touchdown pass.
Starting point is 01:44:10 And now they're both back out there and regenerated. Man. That catch that Thielen had at the end was nice too. That was a really sad grab. Yeah, it was awesome. That was a great way. For the buck's playoff chances, though, Bucky Irving did.
Starting point is 01:44:25 He was walking, there was a video of him walking into the locker room at the end of the game. His hip wrapped in ice. And a lot of people were questioning, um, uh, the head coach. Who's the damn head coach of the box?
Starting point is 01:44:36 Bulls. Oh, Bulls. Todd Bulls. Uh, why he was playing Buckie Irving on special teams because that's when it seemed like he, he re-agravated that hip injury because he got to return a kid. We don't need Bucking Irving playing on special teams.
Starting point is 01:44:49 Let's see, Rashad White, you've got, who's the third, Sean Tucker? Tucker, yeah. Sean Tucker, that's a nice, nice runs there in the middle of the season. They had to use them a bunch. But I forgot, I'll give out two mentions that I missed, but Russell Wilson's got my game ball. That was unbelievable. Star of the day. And then my fly on the wall is, does Drew Petzing, the offensive coordinator for the Arizona Cardinals go outside?
Starting point is 01:45:16 how do you coach in Arizona and look like you never go outside this guy look him up it looks like he hadn't seen the sun in months okay now I was supposed to be in the maybe some of you cardinals fans know what I'm talking about do you know what this guy looks like Matt no he makes you look like like you're from the Caribbean it's unbelievable it's crazy you know so anyways I'm sympathetic to it as well well he looks even paler they took that picture in the summer he did bro all right so Drew Pettsing's
Starting point is 01:45:57 watching like damn bro fucking not even on our breakdown catching strays bro he's doing a great job this year I just didn't like some of the decisions yesterday and I think you used some vitamin D just get outside clear your head okay heading up to New York
Starting point is 01:46:11 for that Seattle New York Jets game where those New York Jets jersey's Anti-Bevilcom. What? Okay, cool. You like it. I just, the combination of those two uniforms is just... Well, for me, it's just the homeless.
Starting point is 01:46:27 I don't love it. Black, I think I'm just a fan of black helmets. That'd be cool depending on who they play, but it's just a combo for me. It was tough. I see. Now, this was... I'd have mentioned for this one, too, actually, real quick. Hollow man.
Starting point is 01:46:39 DJ Reed tweeting at the NFL officiating account. It's like, the hollow man is like, one of those things were emotional after the game. you literally added the NFL officiating accounts of like fucking behind me or something like that yeah it's like you're just giving up money man it's like that was like a fucking $20,000 tweet or whatever he said oh his rookie deal he said at NFL officiating you fucks and suck y'all should be ashamed of y'all sucks and suck yeah he did a X instead of a you oh good that'll work out so you yeah i don't probably that'll probably keep them finding you into the sun you know what and here's the here's the
Starting point is 01:47:15 craziest place to talk about this because like I have a list of things that happened to this team Devonte Adams had a bad OPI where you know he had a big gainer and it came back and it just felt like from then and Seattle was at this point a score down 2119 they have the ball late in the game and this is on the possession of decisive score and I understand why DJ Reed might be frustrated I'm so frustrated can you put the frustrated from Team America World Police on my soundboard when you get a chance. But the OPI started this slide. Seattle's got the ball.
Starting point is 01:47:52 Fourth and one, they get stuffed. Jets are like, yeah, yeah, we got it. We're not the Jets anymore. Horse collar. Okay, first down. Fourth and six, the damn Seahawks lineup to go for it. The Jets are in punt safe.
Starting point is 01:48:06 The punt safe team is out on the field, dude. And not just that, but they have 12 men. So it's punt safe, 12 men. five-yard penalty. It's fourth and one. We take a shot. We being the Seahawks. They don't get it.
Starting point is 01:48:22 P.I. on Metcalf. Then the Gino double clutch that Sherwood picks up and do Jets think they've won the game basically? Come on back. Come on back. It was the right call. Gino fumbled the football.
Starting point is 01:48:38 And then they go down 26-21. It stays that way. There were so many bad flags against this team. But I got to say, right down to that 12 men on the field with punts save out there. I just, listen, I'm a big fan of Ulrich, man, and I've been wishing for him
Starting point is 01:48:52 to get a damn head coaching job at some point, but they fucked this guy. Like, this is an absolute fuck job. To make this guy coach this team and put his name on this stuff. And honestly, like, the defense got worse. The offense just stayed the same. They fired Robert Sala.
Starting point is 01:49:12 He was supposed to be the problem. they fired Joe Douglas. Those guys are, they were enjoying their thanksgivans. And instead, this is the football your team plays. When you have poorly, huh?
Starting point is 01:49:23 When you have gang green, what do you have to do? You got to cut it off. Before it spreads. Yeah. They let it spread. They let it spread. They should have cut the gang green off.
Starting point is 01:49:31 Gangrene wasn't what they thought it was. Someone different. They basically treated gang green by cutting off every other part of the body. Yeah, exactly. And then they just have a gang green foot. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 01:49:43 They're just, a gangrene. Humster fire. But the point is, man, like, it's just, they're going to make a documentary about this team. Absolutely. Because the hopes on this team were so high. Obviously, it didn't work out.
Starting point is 01:49:56 It just, that sequence alone was just brutal. And honestly, for the quarterback, for Aaron Rogers, who still makes some nice throws, who looked mobile yesterday, who maybe is thinking about starting to audition for other teams. Mm-hmm. But when you're up 21-7, you got a chance to go up 28-7. After all the mistakes to Seahawks made, Garrett Wilson's open in the end zone. He misses him.
Starting point is 01:50:21 And the very next play, he throws a pick six to Leonard Williams. Anti-Mu-Money-Tee Bell. And that right there is the ball game. It's sequences like that. And, you know, it's Devante Adams, 12 targets, five receptions. He was close on a fourth and two. He had a brutal OPI.
Starting point is 01:50:37 It's just like the seventh circle of hell for this guy. Did you? We said it before he, before they made the trade. Devante, if you have any agency in this whole process, please, bro, don't fuck your life up. And now look. And you know what he might say?
Starting point is 01:50:52 And I guarantee it because he seems like a great guy and a hard worker and a team guy that he's like, hey, I don't regret coming here. You take chances, the whole thing. But there were some other places you could have been, my man. And now it's like, it's just you're at the mercy of whoever's the quarterback next year. Did you hear what Aaron Rogers said about that missed pass to Wilson?
Starting point is 01:51:15 What he says? Is Wilson's fault? The wind was blowing inconsistently. Get out of here, bro. No. I triple checked it. It's true. He said he still has to make the throw, but he did say the wind was blowing inconsistent.
Starting point is 01:51:28 I swear to God. He is the worst, bro. Like, he's the worst. He's the worst. It's so hard for him to be. I got, can I write a list of my excuses for my career? Man. I got 50. Man.
Starting point is 01:51:44 All right, listen. That dude. So unlikable, dude. He is so unlikable. How do you rally behind a quarterback like that if you're on that team? It's the biggest impediment to somebody signing him next year because I still think he can throw the football. Mm-hmm. But like, but like you do with that. Brother.
Starting point is 01:52:01 Dude, and I hate to say this because like I said, I'm a, I'm an appreciator of ball. I have marveled at this guy for the better part of two decades, man. I'm the same way. He is a fucking stud. I feel the way I do now. It's just like, why are you doing this? Like, why are you acting like this? Like, you're a goat.
Starting point is 01:52:19 Like, don't be the guy that everyone knows is a goat, but they have character. It sucks. It sucks to see somebody objectively go out like this. If this is going out because, like, you are one of the goats. And so, like, yeah. And maybe the win was blown inconsistently. I'm not going to spend all day fucking parsing through his postgame press conferences. I'm just saying this team is, it's sad, bro.
Starting point is 01:52:37 It's super sad. They're super sad, Holmes. and I'm sad homes it's just sad but but the whole thing is on the other end of things we're talking about Seattle my NFC West champs they're in the lead in the division with a chance to go up two games on Arizona next week if they beat them bro and they have done it in such a fucking an imperfect fashion they like every game and they say Seattle never plays a normal football game right down to yesterday. The mistakes on special teams, needing the pick six, all that stuff. Gino, up and down, the whole thing. But I just want to say this about them. They lost five of six after that Miami
Starting point is 01:53:19 blowout win. In those losses, they gave up 42 points, 29 points, 36 points, 31 points, and 26 points. Over the past three weeks, they've given up 17, 6, and 21. And the 21 yesterday included at least one short field score. The linebacker play is better. That is definitely a thing, okay? This Kid Knight's playing. Ernest Jones comes over. I don't think people realize how bad the linebacker play was. And I also want to shout out this guy, Leonard Williams, again, okay? Two sacks yesterday, a block kick, and the longest thick six return of all times. They paid him this year. It's a great decision. That's four and a half sacks, 11 tackles. Against this former team, too. Exactly. We're talking about a Gino revenge game. It's a Leonard Williams revenge game. And he's got,
Starting point is 01:54:06 He's done all this over the past two weeks. I think he had a sack call back yesterday because of a face mask. He was winning up and down the line, bro. So when you got guys like that going into hero mode playing some of the best ball of their careers, who are like a veteran, he's played a lot of good ball. This might be the best I've seen him play. Yeah. And then you've got the linebackers improving.
Starting point is 01:54:27 You've got the good cover guys outside. And you got a first year de-coordinator. We see it with Vic Fangio. Okay. And I'm not equating him and Mike. but I think I think it's like impressive to see how this group is kind of improved through the year you know like and and yeah it's the NFC West and it's a shit show but somebody's got to win it and they seem way more interested in winning the NFC West than either Tampa or the the
Starting point is 01:54:55 falcons seem interested in winning the NFC South the NFC South that we said this yesterday is like is like SARS or something people just avoiding the NFC South title like who wants it not me, this team is actually acting like they want to win the West right now. And I love to see it. I mean, they have a huge game at home against the Cardinals. It's a tough road stretch for the Cardinals. Minnesota, it's kind of a tough place to play. Totally. They obviously lost that one. And then they're going out to Seattle, a very tough place to play. Like, should be, I think Seattle's kind of, I think they have Seattle at home. They got Seattle at home. Yeah, they played. You think it's, you think it's, you think it's playing good ball right now.
Starting point is 01:55:33 Do you think it's fair? Sometimes. That's the key. It's like sometimes. The offensive line, you know, Charmone and Kenneth Walker deserve some sort of award. Maybe an STL memorial, but yeah, count it. They get an SDL memorial because they're running behind a line where they're getting hit all the time, like immediately. And they mean, your starting center just retires during the season. Totally, man. Totally.
Starting point is 01:55:57 And so you missed your tackle Lucas for a long time. You know, they were shuffling the right guard position. they could be a lot better there. This is one of the teams that's like, when you look at, it's kind of confounding to me that they're not better in a way. Like they got great cover guys outside. They've got a guy up front who's playing really good ball, a couple good edge rushers.
Starting point is 01:56:22 They have two backs that I like. They have receivers. They have a veteran quarterback. There's just certain holes in their game, offensive line being one of them, where they struggle. They don't have a tight end. And Gino's up and down.
Starting point is 01:56:36 At some point, at some point, he's not going to be the guy there. He deserves a lot of credit for what he's been able to do thus far. But if this team's going to go to the next level, I don't know if it's going to be in the next three years is going to be Gino. So love to see him lead them on a run because you never know when it's not going to be Gino anymore there. Seahawks plus 150 to win the West.
Starting point is 01:56:58 Cardinals plus 170. Rams still with a shot at plus 300. And to talk about this, you want to just get right into the flyovers real quick? Real fast. We're going to hear a, we're going to hear a tape video. Oh, yeah, yeah. A fun little word from Airbnb. I love my RV.
Starting point is 01:57:16 I got a 24 footer. Take my family wherever I want to go. Even better. I can go alone. Sometimes I take Nate and Reed to Tennessee. Sometimes I'll take you to the river. Sometimes, I mean, I've had a lot of great trips in my RV. But what I didn't realize is that when I take my RV somewhere,
Starting point is 01:57:34 else I could be double dipping. I could be making money at home while my house is vacant. I could turn it into an Airbnb. And I guess that's the point. You never know how much your house is worth. You think it's worth one thing. You leave for the weekend. You could be raking in cash. So while you're away, your home could be an Airbnb. Had you thought about that, your home might be worth a lot more than you thought it was. Find out how much at Airbnb.com slash host. over game New England. Indianapolis at New England.
Starting point is 01:58:11 Can y'all hear me? Yes. I got you brother. Okay, I must turn my shit down somehow. Okay. I got you guys. Okay. I have a I got a mention for this game real quick. I thought it looked awful. I like the throwback
Starting point is 01:58:27 uniform sometimes from the Patriots, but it's too much. I didn't like it now. Ain't that level for me for this one. Yeah. I didn't like it. Hollow man for you. Right. I haven't mentioned also. Pat Patriot.
Starting point is 01:58:41 I like Pat Patriot, but something about the matchup with the Colts, like just. Red and blue? Go ahead, Dr. Fox. Best flight. Anthony Richardson is just, it's crazy how a few weeks can change in the NFL and for just individuals and narratives. And I just feel like since he tapped his helmet, And he got some rest. He's been back out there competing hard.
Starting point is 01:59:10 Still making some mistakes, but they're getting wins. And when you get wins, those little mistakes, they don't seem as big of a problem as they maybe are in the moment. But it's good for him. No, I'm, you know what? When they ran in on that two-point conversion, you guys were watching me, watch the highlights. And I almost missed Quentin Johnson's, like, awesome.
Starting point is 01:59:34 Nelson. Quentin Nelson, Quentin Johnson. You fucking, I almost miss Quentin Nelson's pancake on the play of the game. Incredible book. You know, this is after a drive where there's multiple fourth downs. Pitman just blast Dugger on a, on a basically
Starting point is 01:59:48 a crack sweep from the quarterback. And they're just, like you said, still making mistakes, still not a finished product. But there's a lot of big moments that they came up and made plays yesterday. And as a team, Hey, listen, you could stay where the Colts going.
Starting point is 02:00:07 I've been on some teams like the Colts. Like in the middle of my career when things were a little bit better, you know, I've been on teams like the damn, like who's the worst team in the league? Jaguars. I've been on worst teams than the Jaguars. Now I've been on some middling teams like the Colts where you're like, hey, we're not really maybe going anywhere,
Starting point is 02:00:24 but like we want to get in the dance. It's like last night, I was watching Herm Edwards talk after the Sunday night football game. And somebody asked him about Sanford. And they were like, what is San Francisco plan for? Shouldn't they just shut it down? Shouldn't they like, let's say McCaffrey's healthy. Shouldn't they just shut them down the whole thing? And like, Herm said something that I think really struck me. And I think fans might not understand. We as the media and fans, we oftentimes are just like, hey, what are you doing?
Starting point is 02:00:51 Just start over. Stop trying. Whatever. This team's in the wild card race. And you could say they're not going anywhere. But when they cross that goal line, and it's the most beautiful sound in football, quiet stadium on the road the only thing you hear is your guys let's fucking go yeah like fucking you know you can just hear it and I could hear those guys and I got chills listening
Starting point is 02:01:14 because that's a team that's hungry that's a team that believes that they have a shot to slide in the damn playoffs and there are guys that have played 10 years in the NFL and never went to playoffs I was one of them you're going to tell me on a team that maybe isn't as good as you thought they were going to be like San Francisco
Starting point is 02:01:31 these guys should quit this indie team is not quitting and as imperfect as the performance might have been from the quarterback and as up and down as watching this team play is like those guys are fucking siked they went on the road and won a football game they don't care it's the patriots it's there's only one quarterback stat that matters chris wins it's a w baby yeah exactly so just miss me with the like some of these teams it's not important i don't know the colts feel like one of these teams that they're they're kind of middling but just an appearance in the playoffs means a lot to guys and like you can see that they and it would mean a lot to this quarterback so
Starting point is 02:02:10 I just kudos to them for going on the road and getting a win I mean it wasn't perfect at all what are you going to say both agreed agree that's all I got I mean I think new england's in a little bit of a tough spot right now the only highlight for new england on the season me is a play their rookie quarterback who cowboy read some might argue is the best rookie quarterback in the NFL right? I wouldn't argue it. You would just say it. It's weird to see the duality. I'm sorry, go ahead. I was just going to say I was trying to shit talk Bo Nix. Yeah, no, look at the, look at the records. It's not playing eight and five and uh, Bo, or Drake May is not that. And you know what the Colts? The Colts would love tonight for Bo Nix not to look
Starting point is 02:02:55 Oh yeah. For key quarterback. For sure. It's just a 24 hour period, but you know, it's not technically 24, but it's like 36 hours you go get a win on the road the Broncos lose the Browns and and like you never know yeah it's just they're in the thick of the thing and who would have thought with as much up and down as the teams had this year that they're there yep they're there exactly perfect for the colts because they have a buy week into the Denver game which is the biggest game of their season dude this is like peak football for a team in the hunt you know you get your ass kicked in Detroit we talk about the damn
Starting point is 02:03:31 the Lions hangover. Well, they didn't cover. Sorry, Tanner. Worst seat, Tanner. When you root for a team, like, the whole game, so like, say you're on the Colts and you're laying two and a half and you're Tanner. And
Starting point is 02:03:46 you're watching the side TV, the whole fucking game. There's other games on, but you're now a Colts fan for 60 minutes. They line up for a two-point conversion. You're like, you might as well not get it. Yeah. Like, I hate you guys. And it was the same thing. The way I used the Panthers up, yesterday and stopped watching them after they covered i was like who cares it was kind of hard
Starting point is 02:04:06 was not covering cost me a parley i was in the same that decision was tough for i i like that decision but it was a great decision for the football team and the point is though you get your ass kicked by detroit you lick your wounds you go to new england you get up for this game you finish it that way you you get a week off to really like let's talk about the last 13 games like and and who knows coming out of that by They get Denver, Tennessee, New York, Jacksonville. This team right now is, what's their record? They are six and seven. Okay.
Starting point is 02:04:41 They've got a shot to go on a little run here, but it starts with Detroit off the by, or Denver, and it would really help if they lost the night. So Colts fans, there's like- Houston hasn't clinched the division either. There's a little bit of wiggle room there, like if Houston were to go one and four or one-and-three for the remaining. Let's jump to Houston, okay, and let's pull up.
Starting point is 02:05:01 up there let's pull up there we'll be let's let's pull up there uh you're make tanner do fucking you know 15 flyovers their schedule's kind of tough that's what i'm saying dude like it's just anything can happen for this team so they get miami houston's got miami kansas city baltimore and tennessee that looks a lot different than indies end of season schedule and so um you know for a team like the texans who no win is easy including yesterday uh they they they they late in that game um you know mac jones let him back to within a score and it got a little hairy it really did and it felt like the whole game ended and started over again after the alshire hit yeah which is probably what we should lead talking about i just a bad hit man like and i'm
Starting point is 02:05:51 and i'm always the one that gives the benefit of the doubt when the the hit first happened and they were skewering him i was like i need to see it again i need to see it again and then i saw it again and I was like, listen, yes, some guys play at a faster speed. Some guys uncoil and snap and they can't stop themselves and the whole thing. But, and yes, Lawrence is going from, and it's a big athletic son, bitch, he's at the sticks. He's chopping and then he's sliding. But Al Shaire is an elite athlete and an elite hitter. Like, when you hit that hard and that well, you're also intentional.
Starting point is 02:06:26 Like, you know what you're doing. And I'm not saying that Al Shire's lying after the game when he says like, I'm sorry about what happened. Like we can read his whole statement. Maybe you can put a statement up, which I thought was classy as you could be after something like that. Where he said like, hey, I came up, Trevor before the game told him how excited I was.
Starting point is 02:06:42 He was back out here, the whole thing. But then the action doesn't match the words. And I think in situations like that sometimes guys like, and I've been there where I've done things I regret on the football field, you're not thinking like you're thinking sitting here. and so I'm not going to crucify the guy and say he shouldn't play football again but the league's probably going to look at that for disciplinary action and he certainly deserves an ejection and you know I'm all about like physical play and I'm all about
Starting point is 02:07:13 going to the whistle and the whole thing and I'll take the other side of some hits that sometimes guys get killed for like when that guy hit Devante Smith in the Philly game I still might get killed over it but I've tried to make that hit 40 times in my career our D-line did the game has changed you can't do it anymore I got I got it this hit is like we just don't need it we just don't need it and uh that's an ugly scene when Lawrence is on the turf and his arms in the air and he's probably snoring that's such a violent thing um it's avoidable and you know you at home might say hey that's not avoidable I'm a huge Aziz al shire your fan I love his story I love the way he plays I don't care that he punched rocheon John Johnson. You're not going to do. I saw a cut up of things he's done before. He hadn't done anything like this. Okay? Somebody's like, well, he's a dirt bag. He punched the guy on the sideline. I don't go to fuck. I like having that guy on my team. I like guys that finish plays on the sideline. I like hitters. I like dogs. But this was just a little far.
Starting point is 02:08:13 And so it was a lot far. And so, you know, he's a big part of their defense, too. You can see it when he's out. And I hope when he comes back, he's able to play with the same intensity and not and not slowed down but make the right decisions because this was not the right decision and so at least he showed a lot of remorse i don't think he's a bad guy i don't think he was trying to hurt anybody but he was trying to finish the fucking guy and you know like because i texted guys that used to hit like this i texted a couple of my buddies that were hard hiters so what did you think of the hit they thought it was bullshit right because my point is when you hit somebody that hard and that often like you're you're you're a big time hitter like had he flown over the top of his
Starting point is 02:08:59 head and just like grazed him and maybe knocked him out like exactly then i'm i'm i'm i'm a lot more like hey you know but when you go with the elbow eyes wide open and finish the hit yes it's a bang bang play yes it's harder than never to be a defender no i'm not going to fucking make this guy there are guys in the nfl who beat women who have done terrible things and we cheer from every sunday as Ziz al-Shayr has an amazing story, dude. Grew up homeless, plays his fucking ass off. I wish he was my teammate. But this action's indefensible on a scale
Starting point is 02:09:36 that I think we can appropriately talk about and then move on from. How bad does it hurt Houston if he maybe does have to miss the remainder of the regular season if they decide to suspend him? Like how bad does that hurt their defense? Really bad. He's a, he's a damn,
Starting point is 02:09:54 he's a great football player. You know, I remember when they signed him, I was like, bro, the speed that this guy plays with, now people see it because he's not in Tennessee. Like, he, that's a fast defense. He puts him in hyper speed. Yeah. And you also have to realize when you're talking about a hit like this,
Starting point is 02:10:10 that like he's playing in hyper speed. Mm-hmm. So I want to give him the benefit of the doubt and intent, but the result of the play, it's just something we don't need, right? I think most of us would say that. I have a question for you this. I respect,
Starting point is 02:10:24 uh, well, I was gonna say, I just respect the fact that he made that apology and then he even kind of recognized that like, I totally get, you know, the Jaguars fighting me.
Starting point is 02:10:34 Kind of coming after me fighting me. Like, I get that. I respected that because like, not many people wouldn't point that out in their apology, you know, that they tweet out. But yeah,
Starting point is 02:10:43 I mean, it's, I mean, it's, I don't have a hot take on this, Chris. Like, I think it's,
Starting point is 02:10:47 there's no hot take. Who's his team number 51? I don't know. Yeah. I don't think it was Willie Anderson. Willing. him off the field when he got kicked out and he got smashed with a drink in the head side of the helmet like walking next to Al Shiree. They were trying to throw something at him. And it's just like
Starting point is 02:11:03 and listen, you can also tell how emotional guys are. Like that's a fight. Dude, like, that's a, he's on the bottom of that thing. And I'm shocked he walked out of that fucking scrap. Yeah, without marks on his face. Dude, like, dudes are trying to hurt you. That was like one of the biggest like, oh, we're going to hurt this guy right now situations I've seen the last five five five years. years and totally and he said it like as a result of what I did I get what they were doing but like as far as how he exited there's just it's hard to calm a guy down in that situation I've been ejected it's fucking hard dude and I've never been ejected where I was at the bottom of a pile getting beat on yeah yeah and then also feeling the weight of like oh my god everybody in the world hates me right now like that's a crazy feeling
Starting point is 02:11:47 yeah and then and then getting on the plane and saying like maybe I deserve to be hated like I understand what happened, but I'm also very sorry it happened. And it wasn't my best judgment. You know, like it just wasn't. And it's not an intent to kill. It's not an intent. He's not trying to hurt Trevor Lawrence. That's what I think people don't understand. He's not, he obviously did not want that. He's just trying to play football the only way he knows how, which is hard as hell. Should he have pulled up on a hit? Absolutely. Would he probably do things differently given the opportunity? Yes. But it also, that shit does happen fast as hell. And it also, it will soon, Trevor. Yeah. I hope he's fine, dude.
Starting point is 02:12:23 Like, but. That just sucks. And here's the other thing. A lot of other guys make that hit. And it's a penalty. They get shoved a few times, but they haven't killed the quarterback because they're just not able to generate that much force. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:12:36 And that's what makes it worse. The thump? Yeah. The thump on a hit like that, bro? It just, it just looked bad. It looked really. He's got a hard brace on his arm. I was wondering for you guys that have played, like, do NFL players use the hard braces
Starting point is 02:12:50 as weapons? It's not necessarily. used as a weapon is just like I mean if that's his normal you got to go look back and see if that's his normal like launch and like if he's tackling like without that brace is he always throwing that forearm he probably is always that's the thing is like when you come in there reckless to try to hit somebody I used to go like shoulder forearm and just like head down not too down but like just try to cause a big collision and like I wasn't I wasn't fucking like snappy enough to hurt people.
Starting point is 02:13:23 Like I was big and I'm sure if I hit you hard, you'd be like fuck. I talked to a couple guys that were like, damn. I remember the proudest I've ever been was Frank Gore saw me at a Super Bowl and was like, bro, you knocked me out that one time. I was like, did I really? That's fucking cool.
Starting point is 02:13:36 But I could never. That doesn't sound like me. That doesn't sound like me at all. And then and then and then and then like, but then there's guys that like they can hurt people. Like like Aziz Alshar here is a guy who can generate the kind of force that can like he can fucking hurt somebody. So I just I feel for the guy as much as you can in this situation because I think he's not a bad guy and a great football player and to lump in the Rochon Johnson punch with this like come on.
Starting point is 02:14:04 This was a this or like bad play. He needs to move on. Someone in the chat saying it's getting racist and political. It's like let's fucking separate the football from everything else. Like this dude. Just stop injecting the internet into real life conversations guy. Seriously. I mean like we all.
Starting point is 02:14:21 agree that that's crazy if that's what he's crazy. That's insane. It goes without saying. Now you go out there and find those people and tell them they're wrong. Because it's not my, like right now, that's not, the number one thing our job is to evaluate the play. Not all the auxiliary bullshit that exists anyways in this country. On another note, Mac Jones still got a little bit left in them. No. That's one way of putting it. He got a little bit. Nope. Don't like Mac Jones.
Starting point is 02:14:53 Don't like his play. I don't think he's got it. I don't like Mac Jones's attitude. I'm not quite in the Rob Ningevich club. I'm loosely in that club. Ever since he kicked those D-Lyman in the dick. Yeah. He just says, so the word is petulant.
Starting point is 02:15:12 That's the word. NFL with Grayson Allen. I don't watch, yeah, I don't watch a lot of games. I'm like, that guy's petulant. There's only one word to describe it sometimes.
Starting point is 02:15:21 The last game among the AFC South competitors, the Tennessee Titans took on the commanders, and it was over quick. Yeah, reo-o- I can say I didn't see a single second of this game. I watched every second, and you did not miss anything. Commanders up in 28-0 after 20 minutes and then I don't know, Westbrook-Kikini gets a couple lucky catches, but Levis looks terrible, pretty much the whole game.
Starting point is 02:15:57 Terrible? Yeah, pretty much. Yeah, I'm not out on Levis. As a consumer. He's strung together a nice couple games prior. I can't tell how much of me is the consumer here, the football guy, but, like, at times he'll look decent. He did hit Ridley on the hands, like, a few times. Ridley had a few bad drops.
Starting point is 02:16:15 So it goes for you with this love for white quarterback. Don't put words in my mouth. It goes, tell me if I'm wrong or right. It goes Josh Allen, Joe Burrow. Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, and then Will Levis. No. Because you just talked about Pat Mahomes and Lamar Jackson. No, I'm talking about for the white guys.
Starting point is 02:16:39 Did you see, Nate almost just broke his neck? I said for the white guys. Oh, he's pretty far down a list. Down? White quarterbacks, yeah. I mean, I just feel like you paid for him a lot. You just love, like, every time, like, we talk about him and if he has a bad games, you're just like, I still want to see more. Does anybody have my clan hood?
Starting point is 02:16:57 That's ridiculous. So I can deliver this take? No, but commanders waste the whole fourth quarter just running their third running back and when easily go into the break, eight and five. Good position for the wild card. Dude, absolutely. This was a game they sorely needed, like sorely needed. You know, having not seen any of it, I guess maybe they got some of the offensive issues solved. Like, that's it.
Starting point is 02:17:17 Ryan Robinson was like a tear in the first half when they were actually running them before they gave him a break. That's a really, really. And I can't remember that left tackle, but that left tackle was a beast, the rookie. Coleman? Yeah. Yeah. Commander's wrong in the run game. What did you think, no, you checked it out.
Starting point is 02:17:34 267 yards. I really think the commies, when they're at their best offensively, it's the run game. Like you think of an identity for this team. You think about Cliff and then the spread stuff. You think about Jaden, all the spectacular things he does. Right. And their wins this season, 194 rush yards per game, and their losses, 97.6. Obviously, there's going to be some noise there with playing with the lead, but not enough to account for a disparity of about 100 yards.
Starting point is 02:18:02 So they ran the ball really well and really just did a commanding lead and ran away from it. He had a sick. There you go. Slant touchdown throw to Terry. I don't know if it was like a bullet throw, probably a better catch. but it was just like, yo, he caught that and he threw that. Does he look better throwing the foot? Like for a couple weeks, I felt like the ribs maybe.
Starting point is 02:18:23 He looked a hundred percent this game. This game was the first game in a few where I don't know if it's like Winston or he just looks like how he was at the start of the season. Yeah. Everyone was like, oh, he's that guy. They also, he looked like that yesterday. Echler's out from a year laid out at the end of last. I are. Nick Nichols played all right.
Starting point is 02:18:44 Echler is a guy that the charges miss. As funny as that sounds to say, because we were all like, all right, man. Out of the back field. You just go. You know, like, that's where people were. But honestly, he would still help his old team. The day. Wasn't he's the one he was advocating for running backs?
Starting point is 02:18:59 And running backs is kind of the main deal. Yeah, the main deal. The main deal. Everyone shit on him for saying that. I think the problem is, again, like, we talk about this from time to time, but like the running back thing is, it is a luxury to go out and get that big fish running back. For most teams, it's,
Starting point is 02:19:16 It doesn't make sense to pay him. If you were the Raiders, if you were the Titans, like imagine the Titans still had Derek Henry. Imagine the Raiders still had Josh Jacobs. The Giants get killed over doing the right thing. The right thing was to give this guy a future. You know, like paying him would have been cruel. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 02:19:37 Yeah, John- Like they can't win with him, they can't win without him. There's certain teams that are not ready to pay a running back. And like, I think if you're, I think what, to your point, this year is a great example of it because the NFL's cyclical and now running games kind of back in, but also the good teams are onto something. It's like, we can go pay a Josh Jacobs.
Starting point is 02:19:58 That's going to take us the next level. We have everything. Let's go get a special back. So I think, unfortunately, for Echler is he's that tweener where he feels like his whole thing was like, I'm not only a running back. I'm a running back hand.
Starting point is 02:20:13 and that thing all right I'll just go get a receiver and a running back so anyways last game on the slate bro Rams at Saints all right
Starting point is 02:20:31 this was an absolute hangar game you know there's people out there that think the Super Bowl's played in a hangar and they think the earth's flat too the same fucking people this guy was like all right man he saw this on instagram he was like tell me this
Starting point is 02:20:49 you take off in a helicopter you hover it at 5,000 feet for six hours you go straight down why are you still landing in the same spot tell me that if the earth's spinning and he said think about the implications
Starting point is 02:21:07 think about the implications of that we're living in it brother So anyways The same people think that a lot of football games are fixed And they play them indoors And I think this game could have been played in a hangar Nobody would have known This was like if every NFL game was
Starting point is 02:21:28 Ram Saints yesterday Then I think the NBA is king I'll give it to you I'll fucking watch 82 of them things I didn't 83 if you win the NBA Cup Oh my son My son's going on about an NBA cup
Starting point is 02:21:42 I'm like, bro, I'm not an NBA fan anymore. I don't even know what the fuck that is, NBA Cup. Well, if the bucks lose by more than 37 tomorrow, they're in big trouble. Why don't you all stop trying to be Europe, bro? This is America. Stop trying to be Europe. You can charge me for a bag at the grocery store? I've seen that shit happening lately.
Starting point is 02:22:01 That happens in Charlottesville, by the way. You might not do your own grocery shopping. No, I do. I do my own grocery shopping and I'll do you one better. I actually go I actually bag for the for the person That's nice
Starting point is 02:22:14 Yeah well you're an asshole You can ask anybody At the various grocery stores That I frequent I bag for them Yeah five cents a bag Is absolutely dive You know and I might not grocery shop
Starting point is 02:22:27 Because I got three fucking kids In a job man I don't I don't grocery shop Get his ass Get up Get up Get up Get up
Starting point is 02:22:36 These was baseless accusation I went to Whole Foods last week. Matt from the top rope from nowhere. From the bottom road. He's from the bottom rope, bro. Inviting.
Starting point is 02:22:48 Chaos. Let it rain. I don't grocery shop. We just say whatever we want that? I bagged, bro. Oh, man. The chat probably loves it. All right.
Starting point is 02:23:00 So the Rams survived. I felt like they got away with that first quarter. Time possession was 14 to 1. This was like hideous the way they started this game. The only thing that they had really to stabilize was the run game. Because Matt Stafford, from what I saw in the first half, looked like washed Matt Stafford. He threw for what, Matt? Like 20?
Starting point is 02:23:21 Terrible first half. It was no yard. It was awful. And so, you know, like the rebound in the second half, they're just a gutsy football team. A lot of people would tell you, hey, there's no point. You guys, you guys aren't relevant this year. We've said that before about the Rams. We told them to sell.
Starting point is 02:23:37 They don't quit, man. Sean McVey great coach Matt Stafford super gutsy and the run game it just keeps him in the ball game
Starting point is 02:23:47 and I'll say this Taysam Hill left on a cart There's not much else in the New Orleans side I want to talk about the Taseom Hill leaving on a cart for me was it's just
Starting point is 02:23:57 is at the end of the chapter in New Orleans he has one more year on his deal but like I could see him get well soon man God dang no I know
Starting point is 02:24:08 You just almost couldn't break him You almost couldn't break him I was shocked to see him on a cart He's so fucking he's like indestructible But to go to Denver At the end of his career with God's team I think Sean Payton would Would send something over
Starting point is 02:24:22 The question I have is like Does a new coach? Let's get Joanne Johnson first Let's get that tight in first 35 year old taste in Hill 35 year old taste I like John's yeah That's what I'm saying
Starting point is 02:24:31 But let me tell you this New coach coming in He's been in this like bubble for his whole career where it's like Sean Payton and Dennis Allen and like the Mickey Loomis thing. There's going to be a new coach there next year. Is that coach
Starting point is 02:24:46 going to be interested in a 35 year oldish, like Swiss Army knife guy? And to Nolan's point earlier, we were talking to the Justin Field's second act thing. If you're, this guy's on the books for 10 mil next year, he's 35. Can you imagine what if
Starting point is 02:25:02 they made Justin Fields Taysome Hill? Like how much money? He's made 43 mil in his career, Taysom. It's, yeah. Oh, at the thing. No, I'm saying like somewhere if you just started using Justin Fields creatively, like we've thought about.
Starting point is 02:25:18 Full time into that role. You can't use Justin Fields like Taysom Hill, though. He's not durable enough. And I know Taysom just had this injury, but like, yeah, that's a fucking tough motherfucker. He's playing on special teams. He's playing literally wide. Did you just call Justin soft? Yeah, that's what I, that's what I heard.
Starting point is 02:25:34 He's played quarterback his whole life. He's not 245 pounds. I agree. It's not like, I'm not saying he's not a freak athlete. Yeah, remember when they first, when Taysam Hill first kind of,
Starting point is 02:25:45 he created this role for himself because of his toughness, his durability and he's versatility, right? Like other teams across the league, it's a copycat league, they try to do the same damn thing with great athletes and they all failed.
Starting point is 02:25:58 And that's exactly what happened. If you try to plug and play Justin Fields into a situation. Justin Fields is listed six pounds heavier than Taysam Hill. Yeah, but mentally is. though? I don't know. I don't know. He doesn't, he doesn't have that, that, uh, I am, I am here for this conversation. I'm here for this conversation about turning Justin Fields into Taysom Hill
Starting point is 02:26:22 and all the reasons why or why not. This is a total hypothetical. I'm down to try to make it happen. Like, let's speak it into existence because it'd be funny, but it's not going to be successful. You know what I think would be even better if like somebody got with Justin Fields and just made him a 15% better quarterback. if he could be 15% better, I'd still think he could set the league on fire. It's just a- 15% better this season at the beginning than last year. He was not.
Starting point is 02:26:48 He was not. I didn't think he played that much better in Pittsburgh than he was in Chicago at the end of the deal. Yeah. I think if he- Pittsburgh's defense is better. No, I think Pittsburgh's defense was better. They weren't scoring, dude.
Starting point is 02:27:01 You know, a lot of the reason they made the turn is because he just, he wasn't making the quick decisions on schedule that they needed him to make. like and you know i don't know if that can change but i'm a fields fan i like fields so and what a play by him taking advantage of the giant void left by lewhan rumos ds old 34 what do you think they're going to do guys fuck me can i read off the results of this poll from the chat cowboy yes please do you think chris does his own shopping 41% in the chat said yes overwhelming 59% You know what my favorite thing about doing this job is?
Starting point is 02:27:41 People can just say whatever the fuck they want. They can just tell lies. And then the whole group of people in the chat will just agree with them. It's so easy to get these people on your side. I will say in your defense, there have been 10 people in the chat that have said, I've seen Chris at Foods of All Nations, Whole Foods, Shop. So 59% of y'all breathe through your mouths. You'll just fall for anything.
Starting point is 02:28:04 You won't stand for anything. You'll fall for anything. You guys just you eat it up. You're tabloid people. That's the internet. I mean, it's the worst. It's not a point of personal pride, but I like shopping for my own fucking groceries.
Starting point is 02:28:18 My wife will ask me, what do you want from the grocery store? And I'll say, don't bother. I need to go in the store. I need to walk through the aisles. The aisle with the Virginia, Hardwood.
Starting point is 02:28:27 It's therapeutic. Tell everyone about it. It's not therapeutic. It's necessary. I got to see. But I like to see the new products and the new stuff. that's coming out and you don't get to see that if you're new products yeah yeah man
Starting point is 02:28:41 back's goes to the grocery store for the end caps you you know there's new products coming out man like there's new hey that's like yo they had new spores at the in cap here's what we're going to do next time i go grocery shopping matt you got to come and film me oh okay we're going to do a little series where every time i go grocery shopping matt's going to the rest of the season matt's going to come with me Awesome. People are going to love this stuff. They're going to love the content.
Starting point is 02:29:11 I'm going to be like, oh, I need the pumpkin seeds. They're high in magnesium. Go get the cheese. You got to get your magnesium up. You in the chat? Cheever. I'm telling you. Magnesium is a cheat code.
Starting point is 02:29:21 Get your fiber up too. Dietary fiber and I'm also talking about dietary magnesium. Not the damn pills. Don't be lazy. Here, I'll give you a little quick since we're on grocery shopping. This is my little grocery list. I can't find it right now. because I don't know where my phone is.
Starting point is 02:29:37 But did you know that in one cup of lupini beans, there's 158 milligrams of magnesium? Yeah. You need to get some Bromie lupini beans. You can find them in aisle four at Whole Foods. And one more thing about grocery shopping. I bet you don't return your cart, Matt. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 02:29:57 I've seen you not return your cart. Oh, you've been one of those guys. No. You're one of this guy. I saw it. Dude, when we were on. the road bro i swear to you i saw him leave his cart oh no lazy bones you have to look up you have to look up that content yeah yeah the cartnark he just
Starting point is 02:30:21 wait for people like matt and when you about to pull out you get a magnet thrown on your car that says lazy bones hey matt matt get your magnesium up chat you're seeing that low magnesium up chat you're seeing that causes headaches and migraines. Yes, Biggins. Also, low magnesium can cause depression. You need to fucking get on your magnesium. Oh, man. Low magnesium causes you to run full speed into Aziz.
Starting point is 02:30:50 Who said that Brandon Allen? Low. Oh, man. Dirtbag behavior. I agree, Brett Stelman. Put a poll in the chat and ask, should Matt be put to death? Run it.
Starting point is 02:31:04 Run that poll. 78% of people say yes gotta kill you because the people in the chat said Oh snuff film The people in the chat in comments I bet they're telling you He's got to go grocery shopping with me
Starting point is 02:31:19 I have a video from Thanksgiving Chris yeah Of my daughter And I posted it And I was like my daughter talking to her imaginary friends And for whatever reason It went super viral on Facebook
Starting point is 02:31:32 It has almost 2 million views But the comment Matt, your dad, 85%. The comments are just people being like, she's not talking to imaginary friends. She's talking to ancestors. Or it's people saying she's talking to ghosts. Or it's people saying she's talking to demons.
Starting point is 02:31:53 So now. All right. Just hear me out. I got low magnesium if she's talking to talking to it. For sure. You got to get her mag up. Now, when I was a kid. Hold on.
Starting point is 02:32:02 I got a question for facts quick. is it on invisible friends because if it's on invisible friends i have a quick story well then i'm going to be bouncing around when i come back to it i had an imaginary friend when i was a kid named nicy and my mom was convinced it was a ghost so everyone in the chat also in these comments are saying that all kids have imaginary friends until you lose your innocence like like until you grow up and or till you do some fuck shit or whatever like that that's when you you you you You lose that ability. How early did you do fuck shit?
Starting point is 02:32:40 I try to think back. Raise your hand if you had an imaginary friend in here. I don't remember. I don't think I can remember. Yeah. I did. You guys, you guys lost your.
Starting point is 02:32:51 But there is a thing, like, there is a research out there showing that young kids might have a, uh, I was weird. Max and I were talking about this, like a link to their past, um, soul, whoever they're, soul. Ancester. Yeah, inhibited in their previous life. All that's fine, but don't put demons on. Don't put demons on.
Starting point is 02:33:11 Coy is a perfect child. Yeah, don't put demons on him. It's like, if you believe all that, that's beautiful, that's perfect. But they'll be like, ah, she's talking to demons. Yeah, that's a little. We don't want that. That's out of pocket. That's out of pocket.
Starting point is 02:33:23 Got me feeling nicey. That's what everybody says. And saying to old yellow me. Ha! Ha! Ha! He's my dog. He's my dog.
Starting point is 02:33:34 I'll do it. Let Bo ask his question. What are you about to ask? He really doesn't do. He didn't do that guy. Just so you know, I don't want to slander him. I would never say something false about Matt and then stick by it. And Chris offers other stuff when he goes to the story.
Starting point is 02:33:49 He's like, do you guys want something? He's very polite. I do. I offer things. But he did that one time. I'm just joking. Give him the fucking geet. Last year, we got in this huge debate because you,
Starting point is 02:34:04 You were eating Thanksgiving leftovers until like, okay, so it's December now. Who was? Thanksgiving is Fax. Fax was, he said it's a black thing that I wouldn't understand because he was eating Thanksgiving leftovers for two weeks after Thanksgiving. You are wearing a park and a box. Are you still eating Thanksgiving leftovers as of Monday? So they're all, they're all gone.
Starting point is 02:34:31 But I'm thinking about the mac of cheese that was made. If I still had a corner, say if the pan just had that little last corner of mac of cheese left, I definitely would heat that shit up today and eat it, bro. Like, how long is it safe to heat? What about, okay, Mac is. I mean, Thanksgiving was the last possible Thursday in November this. So it was only like last, it's only last week. You know?
Starting point is 02:34:53 Thanksgiving was the last possible Thursday. This year. So it just works out. You guys were wasteful, man. I've still been thinking about that take from last year because that's that's almost worse than Bro, there's still people eating. There's still people who maybe don't have as much money as you, Bo, that still eat leftovers for a long time until it's gone.
Starting point is 02:35:17 You don't need money to be hygienic, my brother. That's not hygienic. What? Well, it isn't hygienic. I guarantee every time you throw away food, bro, it's not, it's not ready for it. That's true. That's true. That's what I'm, that's all I'm saying.
Starting point is 02:35:29 That's not the argument that I'm trying to make. I'm trying to make that there's a brief window. of three days after Thanksgiving where you're allowed to eat leftovers and anything after that is who made that rule and why me the Allen family the Allen family real fast uh I went to an underage bar with the Allen family one time all right go ahead yeah real fast before we uh wrap up with our bed MGM moments our last ones want to hear give a little shout out to a bed MGM as we finished with our remaining betmgm moments thanks to betmgm and all you football fans i want you to picture something you bet your favorite player as first touchdown score but he throws a block to send a teammate in the
Starting point is 02:36:15 end zone and you lost your bet right wrong with betmgm second second you'll get your stake back of your first touchdown score score second bet on any pro football player to score the first touchdown of the game if you're right you win if your player scores second you get your stake back in cash keep that in next time you throw in a first touchdown score bet with bet mGM happy hunting hey beau hey chris go eat some fucking leftovers i would never um oh and the one thing i didn't mention about new orleans jared verse closing out the game mm-hmm great verse shout out jared verse shout out jare berz we got the fact viral moment before we forget get it. It's going to...
Starting point is 02:37:05 Would never. Halvin Austin the third got a picture of him going viral of him wearing a Russell Wilson jersey. I like this. And he just, last two games, he's caught two touchdowns from Russell Wilson. Oh, this is when he was a kid. When he's a kid. Like, how great is that? That's pretty damn cool. That's pretty dope. That is pretty dope.
Starting point is 02:37:28 They say never be friends with your idols. I guess I could say, Wayland's eight now. Oh, is there anybody? I don't think he, I'm not saying he's going to play in the NFL. Holy shit. I'm not saying that yet. I'm not saying, hey, we got to start with a damn scholarship. It's like, it's like he said, hey, mom, I want to play AU basketball.
Starting point is 02:37:47 We're like, well, we better see you getting some buckets before we commit to that much travel. But then, you know, when you think about the NFL, hypothetically, I guess if he becomes a great tight end, he could catch the ball from, what years is it for Josh Allen? is like seven or six seven i think it is seven oh he could catch the ball from josh allen year 20 i could be at bar bill being a drunk nflb dad my son would have to peel off the couch in the mornings when i went to come to visit him in buffalo i'd be so hammered now he'll be playing with justin jefferson oh that'd be cool yeah yeah sure if you're if you're well Nate you don't have a son yet but like say you had a son who would you want him to play with one day like let's say we'll close the show on this like a great quarterback jaden daniels you think well maybe waylon
Starting point is 02:38:47 would catch the ball from jaden daniels just a thought if if whalen was catching the ball from jaden daniels in washington but they haven't upgraded the stadium not going that's on you son my son grew up to be a Red Bull athlete, basically. Like, it's fucking dangerous. I will want my son to catch passes from Chador Sanders. Oh, that'd be tight. Yeah. Nate.
Starting point is 02:39:13 We'll be right back. We'll be right back. Real fast tonight, Nate, your first touchdown score. Ooh. First touchdown. Who we got? We got Monday night football. We got Cleveland at Denver.
Starting point is 02:39:25 Yeah. You already know where I'm going with this. We got to take them. the church, baby. James Winston, first touchdown plus 3,000. They're desperate. You've seen him in the snow game. He's doing anything to try to help his team win, and I don't think it's going to be any different tonight, even though I need Denver. I need these wins, but James, first touchdown, I think it's you. All right, and honestly, my thoughts on this game, Why does 4-Chap?
Starting point is 02:40:00 Why does 42 feel like a trap? I want the under, but like... It feels like an under. It just feels like an under. Why would they hang it at 42? Because James likes to throw pick six who's right when you don't think he would. You're right.
Starting point is 02:40:14 I think that Cleveland's going to have a lot of trouble. What do you mean? I always think he's going to throw a pick. What you're talking about? But a pick six, though, like for the points. Like a bad one. It's one thing to throw a pick, but it's one thing to throw it where it's in the pick.
Starting point is 02:40:29 It's a complicated game for you. This is your old team, the Browns, against your team, the Broncos. Yeah. So who do you want to win? And right now, the Broncos is the only one that can win me money. So Broncos country, let's ride. I don't know if you saw it. So Jerry Judy, it's a homecoming game.
Starting point is 02:40:44 He's rolling back to Denver. He was asked, you know, how do you want to play? And he was like, oh, I want to kick some ass. I want to kick their ass. And Cortland Sutton was like, ah, it sounds like my buddy, Jerry. Why? Because Jerry was like trying to get hype and like be serious. And then Corle was just like, ha.
Starting point is 02:41:03 What's up, man? I like their locker room. Oh, yeah. Good chemistry. Great chemistry. Just like this locker room, guys, take care. See you Friday. You know.
