This just makes it more likely that they can not only, you know,
obviously they're going to be in the playoffs, but they can make a deep run.
And so I like it.
And also, Ballard never does stuff like this.
Like, I love that he went all in on a move.
Like, I think that if you're a Colts fan, you got to be excited about that.
Another thing it signals is I think we're going to get a Daniel Jones deal.
Yes.
That's how we used to use both.
What, just first and second.
Not a really, oh, my God.
Laying your beard looks huge.
Yes, now they can do the impossible, go over the top versus quarters.
All right, we're going to call this a trade deadline yap with the Greenlight podcast.
We are joined by award-winning journalist Mina Kimes.
She's an NFL analyst, senior writer, podcast host, and television contributor for ESPN.
Also great with watercolors.
And then we are joined by Loli podcaster.
You can find him on X, Joel 9-1 or Instagram as LaFlema Blanc.
You guys might know him from the Greenlight podcast with Chris Long.
This is Chris Long.
Hello, Chris.
Hey, you left one thing off Mina's bio.
She knows how to beat quarters.
Hell yeah, brother.
Run duo.
Yeah, quarters.
Quarter's beat her.
Quarter's beater.
Run duo.
Um, guys, pretty exciting day today, huh?
What do you think?
I mean, yeah.
But I was just saying.
in here with mina and i was like am i spoiled i wanted more trades like i had like 15 you know how like
as content creators the month leading up to the trade deadline you're just making up trades
whether you're trying to or not like i had i had zach sealer going seven different places i
had malique collins going seven different places a little bit a little bit disappointing you know the bucks
didn't make a move but we got some blockbusters for sure yeah you guys want to get right into it why
don't we talk, why don't we talk about the Jets who are hitting sell, sell, sell.
I think the biggest one who, you know, a lot of people were surprised by this,
sauce gardener going to Indy.
What are your initial reactions to that guys?
From Indy's perspective, I mean, it's a lot.
Let's start there.
It's a lot.
But I like that they, it's the kind of premium you pay when you have Super Bowl aspirations.
And I think they should.
They've really needed cornerback help.
You saw that against Pittsburgh, Tarr various words been injured.
And I like the flexibility that this gives Lou Anirumo, Big Lou, because, you know, one thing I thought, Chris, I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on this, watching the Sunday Night Football game between the Chiefs and the Bills, you got to be able to play man coverage, I think, against both of those offenses. And this, to me, allows Lou to play more man coverage and to do some of his weird Lou stuff, right? He's one of the best individual game planners we've got. And I think we know how good this offense is when things are rolling.
To me, this just makes it more likely that they can not only, you know, obviously they're going to be in the playoffs, but they can make a deep run.
And so I like it.
Also, Valor never does stuff like this.
Like, I love that he went all in on a move.
Like, I think that if you're a Colts fan, you got to be excited about that.
No question.
I think, Mina, you're dead on.
It's a team that has aspirations of winning a Super Bowl over the next year or two, which I think they should.
Like, most of their guys are under contract for a couple of years.
You look at when guys start coming up.
I think it's either 26 or 27.
I think it's 27.
A lot of their key guys come up.
But the window's wide open.
And the thing is a player that I always get frustrated with is if you have a deficiency
and you have an open window, which they suddenly do, like the window just flung open this year,
you go do it.
And you try to fill that hole, whatever it is.
And for them, it's corner.
And, you know, when Ward gets back, those are two.
two big physical guys.
And you mentioned,
Amina,
the versatility,
being able to play in a scheme like Lou Anarumos,
I'm pretty sure he can do more with two corners like this.
We'll see how that manifests.
But the thing I also like about it is,
like,
you're a good football team.
You're going to be picking in the bottom of the first round in 2012,
and I went back and looked at,
if you were a Colts fan in this season ended today,
and you were drafting,
corner is going to be one of the positions
that you're going to be it's going to be highly sought after in the draft go back and look at some of
the names that were drafted in the bottom eight to ten of the first round at corner over the past 10 years
i can count on one hand um actually i can count on like three fingers the guys that i would want on my
team so you know like for me um it makes sense the versatility and another thing it signals is
I think we're going to get a Daniel Jones deal.
Yes.
Because you're not
you're not going to be picking in a place
where even in 27 when the quarterback
depth gets better.
I think I'm not a big
college guy. Like you're just not going to be
picking it in a place where you can get one. So I think this is good
for Indiana Jones as well.
Yeah, they gave up two
first round picks, 2026
and 27 and then wide receiver
AD Mitchell. But Mina, you're joined
here by two former defensive linemen. So
If I'm on the Colts, especially I'm a guy named Grover Stewart, Laotu, Latu, DeForest Buckner,
and you get a guy like that, sauce gardener, pair him with Ward, you guys talked about.
And then Kenny Moore is a dog, too.
Yeah.
Like, you just got to feel like that combination of rush in coverage is going to be pretty
elite for a long time coming.
I'm kind of all in on the Colts.
And that's what they're signaling to.
Like you said, like, they're fucking guns ablazing.
You know what I mean?
They're coming out.
They're saying, we're going to win this year, which is exciting.
Well, Latu, you mentioned him.
You know, he's got 36 pressures.
He's got two picks too.
So he's kind of a lockdown guy also, Chris.
Yeah, he is.
They just add more coverage to an already really good coverage group.
But I think with Latu, like, he is the classic guy that, like, is going to win late a lot because he's got great hands.
He's got great hands.
He's great counter-rusher.
He's going to rack up a ton of pressures.
He might not always be the sack guy.
Now it feels like he's going to do some numbers.
And it is more, I'm always a guy.
I mean, I don't know how you feel about this, but when it comes to like, would I add a dominant
rusher?
Exactly where I was about to take this, especially watching Nicole's defense this year,
because they do a lot of funky stuff up front.
There's always like guys dropping.
The back end to me, and I think Anirumo knows this very well from his days in
Cincinnati, like it's a lot harder to scheme up and a lot harder to compensate for the
That's exactly right.
It's all that against Pittsburgh.
And the Steelers too, you guys like our team where, because they might play the Steelers
and playoffs. I firmly believe you have to press those receivers and force Aaron Rogers to hold
on to the football. They could not do that. Now with these corners, they have the capability to do that.
You cannot make, you can manufacture rush. You cannot manufacture coverage. You just, you can't.
And so for me, as a rusher, like, you can turn a good rusher into great rush. We see it all the damn
time with lockdown corners outside. And, you know, man coverage is, I mean, that's like music to my ears.
So, you know, if we talk about this Jets fire sale, imagine being, I mean, A, Brees Hall and Jermaine Johnson, no lifeboat.
It's like the Will Smith, you know.
Yeah.
You know, I'm talking about.
I'm stuck here.
I'm stuck in the empty room.
Or I think it's even worse to be like Mazzie Smith or A.D. Mitchell.
Yeah.
Because like, you know, like, you show up to that jet.
meeting tomorrow you're talking about like two big pieces on your team are gone it's going to be the
talk of the town you're the new guys that were just the throw-ins um i think a d mitchell is um is salvageable
though um i don't know about mazzy smith reminds me a lot of of like jordan davis's first
couple years i think it'd be really fun to see him just in a scheme where it's just just your big
powerful guy you've got some good athleticism just fucking go just go straight ahead and
fuck shit up you know what i mean and obviously um you know mazie smith is part of that quinn
williams trade who you know that's probably what uh jerry jones was i think the kids calling it
honey dicking us with is that what they call it i think that's what they call you know wait wait wait wait wait
wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait hold on back up yeah i'm glad you're here to be like back
the fuck up let's talk about okay so you're talking about how he like teased a trade and didn't tell us what
Yeah, yeah. That's honey-dicking, right? I mean, um, no, um,
the chat has a, like a honey pot is like a,
like a definition. A honey pot is like a cat fit like a like when you. So this would be more of a bait
switch maybe. Yeah. Honey. But he did it. He came through. I mean,
he did the trades. I don't like. He did the trade. He did the trade. What he did was he basically
was like, I really want people to watch the game tonight and I want people to pay attention to me.
So I'm going to tease this out. So I get Monday.
into Monday night football, which he didn't plan on looking the way it looked.
But it did look that way.
And in Troy Eggman said this last night, and I agree with him like, maybe he should,
he shouldn't be by the deadline.
But I guess in the NFC this year, if you're serious, you can't just hope.
You know, I do think the wild card is going to be a lot harder to obtain.
And I don't know, man.
I don't love the trade.
I'm not in love with it.
They're paying three defensive tackles, a lot of money.
I don't know what the 2026 draft looks like.
I do believe when they get overshone back, overshone's like, overshone's good, good, good.
Like, he's incredible.
When they get him back, it's going to help.
I feel like this is a look at like what the future is for them.
Like, you know, like this means they're going to go after an edge in the draft next year
and hope that the multitude of guys,
that they've thrown at the wall and hope they'd stick this year work out.
But I'm a big fan of Quinn and Williams, not happy with his role in New York.
And he gets on the flight down to Dallas.
He's probably pretty damn happy.
Yeah.
I mean, like he's a good player and he'll open the run defense as well, right?
Quietly, the Cowboys have a decent pass.
I was thinking of this watching the game last night.
I think as Iraqis flashed some good stuff for them, obviously Osa and Kenny Clark,
are disruptive on the interior.
But, you know, this year, like, let's be real.
Like, the linebackers in secondary just aren't good enough, right?
I mean, white-ass open.
So this is if you, but if you take a step back and look at this through a long-term
lens, like you did, like, okay, cool, they're going to add an edge.
Fine.
But when I look at what the Micah Parsons trade, because this is, even though it's their
pick, you think about it this way.
You trade Micah Parsons, you get Kenny Clark, you spend one of your first on Quinn
and Williams, and then you have your move up.
like 20 spots. That's not enough. I'm sorry. Still, it's just not. Like I do not think this team has
done things in a logical or smart way, even if I like Kenny Clark or probably, um, Quina Williams is a
player. You know what? I have a theory to float. You know, like he, he, he wanted to get a deal done
for somebody no matter what. Yeah, I agree. Like, I'm leaving here with something. You know what I mean?
And, and I'd really love to know, you know, we do that fly on the wall on Mondays where it's like,
I'd love to be on a conversation.
I would love to be on the conversations that somebody brought up on Monday
was you maybe, Bo, talking about.
I'd love to have Howie Rosamondon's phone.
Yeah.
To see what he almost did to see what he was talking about.
What Jerry Jones was trying to do, what kind of finesse moves he was trying to pull,
just to wash the flavor of the Micah Parsons trade out of his mouth a little bit.
Because you know what I would have said, Mina, if you go out and use those two ones on Miles,
Garrett, I think you're a genius.
now they weren't selling um but i think you would have gotten better you go out and use them on max
crosbie i feel like you got better now i have concerns about max crosbie and the workload he's he's
undertaken over the course of his career and like what that looks like going for because he plays
the way he plays but this is one that it's kind of a i don't know it just feels like you did
something to do it and i love the player i agree i love quinnon williams too but it's like
how is a detackle as a noseguard no one really cares no one really cares you know i don't know
It's not really that sexy.
I mean, it's definitely more sexy than the other pick that they got or the other trade that they made with Logan Wilson.
But it's like it just feels like a little bit too little too late for this year.
Like they're what, three, five and one.
And it's very deep.
The inside is.
With Logan Wilson stuff by the way.
I don't want to name names, but one of the insiders is like standout linebacker, Logan was in us.
Hey, at one point he, I mean, at one point before the injury, I thought he was really good.
you know we'll see if you can get back to to that to that place and i mean that might actually be an
improvement for them i mean they don't have it is an improvement for them for right now yeah but then
and if you have a if you're a line back but another podcaster dude who Logan Wilson this week
it's come on the pod buddy that he needs like people are mad at Logan Wilson you can't have a
podcast in Dallas they'll kick you out of there you know they'll trade you away overshone is the one
where i want to see because so much of his game was about speed i want to see what
it looks like coming back.
Oh,
C.R.
Yeah.
It's like PCL.
It's a big one.
My fingers are crossed, dude, because...
Such a fun player.
He is one of those guys that, like, the minute you watch and play, you're like,
this guy's going to be a legend.
I mean, he's incredible.
So I...
And also, maybe it's in the cards that they, you know, like, you already like their
edge group.
Like, he can add into some pressure packages.
100%.
You know, so, um, who knows, man?
Like, in two years, they might, they might be a lot better.
off. Like, I have no idea, but, but I do feel like the Jets having all the picks they have is,
is, is kind of going to be the most interesting thing in football over the next three, four years.
I said this today. I was like, that GM is the center of the universe. And I just learned how to say
his name today, Mina. Moji. Moji.
Moji. Darren Moji. Darren Moji, who played for the Cardinals for a second. He was in division,
but we didn't we didn't play each other he he he um he's my age beau he's a young man and he's got
he's the most he's a young lad he's a middle-aged man he's the center of the football universe
and in a lot of people's worlds man like it this is the guy that could change everything for this
franchise if they pick if they find a quarterback and are halfway decent drafting
man you give schneider those picks you give one of the roseman those picks you give one of these
experienced yeah let's not forget they have some offensive weapons still they got garrett wilson
they managed to retain breese hall and i actually just saw something from one of our illustrious
producers charlie shout out charlie uh the chiefs offered a fourth round pick to the jets
for bruce hall and uh the jets held firm so brees is kind of stuck there in d york man
Sorry, we like you, dude.
He's pretty good, though.
I like that they kept the offensive players, because if you're going to draft a quarterback,
the thing I hate the most is when teams draft a quarterback,
and then they put him in like a Camboard style waistline.
Tennessee?
Right?
Yeah.
So, like, I like that they said, okay, we're going to trade off our defense.
Like, we're going to keep Garrett Wilson.
So the guy, whoever we get is not coming in here and having no one to throw to,
I also feel like the rest of the AFCs got to thank them for not trading.
Exactly.
Back to Chiefs, man.
Yeah.
That would have been so much.
Oh, absolutely.
That would have been, yeah, that would have been rough.
And I thought if Houston had found a way to win a game or two
over the last couple weeks, that was the perfect destination for him.
You know, I'm also a little bit surprised.
Wait, yeah.
Well, they, Kansas City picked up a panel, who they think of as a guy that can get a lot of
snaps out of. But there's a couple of teams that I was surprised didn't make moves. I brought up the
bucks. Like, I would have loved to see them get some interior help or some help with linebacker.
You know, they've had a million receiver injuries, but those guys will figure it out.
There were a few other teams that I was got. I thought that the Packers, with what happened,
Tucker Kraft, should have absolutely gone out and spent a mid-round pick on a tight end.
Yeah. Chief Pass rush is the one. Maybe.
they tried and maybe they maybe teams are like less like i don't know like they trade with them but
we're not going to help you yeah i don't know but watching them against buffalo they can't get
pressure without blitzing this year and josh allen just shredded the blitz and i i'm i'm personally
bummed trey hendricksson didn't why didn't the cincinnity bengals trade trade henry why is trade hendricksson
on your football team what's yeah here's my theory and you know nobody loves tray more than me but tray is a
32-year-old man.
Trey Hendrickson age.
He's got to be like 30.
I bet you's 30 or 30. He's 30 years old.
He turns 31 on December 5th.
So, you know, he can help you right now, but I don't put him in his current form in the
echelon of some of these other rushers.
You know, I think he's, I think he's a really good player still.
But I would imagine since he wanted a lot for him.
But to that point, like, maybe it is an internal struggle of are we selling the team or not because if we can fix the defense a little bit, give up 30 points a game.
There's been the story for them for a long time.
And I by no means think they're going anywhere.
But the state of the AFC North and the way Chase Brown sounded, the way Jamar Chase sounded like, that team doesn't want to go home, which is fucking ridiculous to me.
I mean, how many lives do they need?
I would have considering you're going to have to pay him, which you can't,
I would have let him walk and take him whatever somebody gave me.
Yeah.
They definitely need help on defense, though, Chris.
But they found their guy in Flacco, which is nice.
Can we move on to, I think, a trade that you want.
I can't wait for.
Very excited about Mina.
And that is the Saints trading wide receiver Rashid Shaheed to the Seahawks for a 20-20,
fourth rounder in 2026 fifth rounder.
Honestly, this is the move for me.
I think this is making a strong group even more strong.
And when you look at it, it makes so much sense.
You got to be pretty gasped about that, I mean, right?
Yes.
Now they can do the impossible, go over the top versus quarters.
Which actually, he's a great example of Larry you would do that with, right?
Legitimately, they see a lot of cover four.
Yeah.
And they're going to see more.
I think that I legitimately think this defense is going to.
our offense, pardon me in Seattle, which is so explosive, is going to start seeing
more shell with Rashid, she heat on the field. So hopefully that unlocks the run game a little
bit, which has been bad this year. But the other thing like I, you know, I love about this is like
you, you've really started to see defenses safety shady more towards Jackson Smith and Jigba.
There's opportunities for the other pass catchers. And Tori Horton took advantage of those.
I'm excited about him. But she had heed is proven quantity.
you know, in terms of like how he worked with Alave in New Orleans.
So this is already the most explosive offense in football with Sam Darnold.
And it's kind of like they just added another rocket launcher to the team.
They're just appointment television right now.
I don't know what else to say.
Dude, I think there's a good chance.
The NFC representative is either them or the Rams is what it feels like at times.
And, you know, we love the Hawks this year and everything.
But this only makes them more dangerous.
you highlighted kind of the vertical element of it.
And I thought it was interesting hearing Greg Olson talk recently about the way that they get heavy to throw.
And, you know, we kind of mentioned that whole conversation on the show.
And, you know, I think he's a perfect fit, the kind of routes they like to run and Kubiak being with him last year.
Like, I remember at the beginning of the season last year, he went off before Derek Carr got hurt.
Like, this guy's got, I have a feeling that Kubiak's like,
the guy in the draft room that's like, I can't believe he fell to me.
You know, I can't believe they're making this deal that we're the ones that are going to get
this guy because I think, you know, whether it's him stretching the field and opening things
up underneath for JSN, vice versa, you talk about like the quick game, like stuff underneath
that way.
They don't quite have a guy like him and I'm excited.
I really am.
I think the reunion is going to go well.
They got a nice group, man.
Yeah.
While we're talking to C-HAC, can you guys my joint, join?
Well, I guess this was, it was a hipster thing, but then Chris Collins were double down so hard on it.
But I've been pushing the nation used to talk about Leonard Williams more.
Yes.
He's a dog.
He's so good.
Like as a movement.
Can we run one thing back, though, Mina?
Because I think, yeah, I'm with you on this one.
I'm a big cat fan, dude.
I mean, Leonard Williams.
But do you remember we were having a podcast years ago, having a podcast?
We were talking about Max Crosby.
Who's the first guy that told you he was just as good as Nick Bosa?
I told the world.
What year was that?
We got to find this clip.
It's like 21 or something.
Chris knows white Russians,
all right?
I know.
I cue in on him.
But,
but Len Williams.
I think that was the joke I made,
bro.
I was like watching your son,
you know?
Yeah,
watching my large son.
I met him at the Super Bowl.
I was like,
God damn,
dude.
No wonder.
He's just got better bend and more tattoos.
Exactly.
He's bendy.
He's the whole thing.
But Leonard Williams, man, has not lost his step.
He's so good.
He has.
Byrd Murphy, too, is nasty.
Like, he is so explosive.
He's not a huge guy.
I love that pairing.
I mean, we've been talking, obviously, about Seattle's offense with the addition
of Shahid, but, like, their defense is really nice.
And it's nice.
Like, what you said, Mina, is kind of what sticks out to me.
I think this is just going to be a huge team piece for them because it's going to allow.
Teams are going to have to play cover two.
They're going to have to remove.
move, you know, some numbers from the box.
Get that run game going.
And then, you know, as soon as they, it's just going to be bombs.
What did, uh, what did Jim Schwartz used to say?
Like crow hop and bombs over bag, daggers.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's going to be even more fun to watch for an already super explosive offense.
Man, I'm fucking.
I think that's the trade of the day for me.
It makes a lot of,
the only thing that didn't make sense and you mentioned this,
I was like surprised.
Nobody went out and got a guard somewhere.
Yeah.
Um, Seattle was like high on the list.
for that because of the way Bradford's protected.
But I do think, and this is what makes them so, I'm sorry to name the guy.
No, it sucks when you're like the very obvious weakness.
But you know what?
I'll give Bradford this, though.
I like him in the run game.
He's just not a pass protector.
But here's the thing.
And this is why we like Seattle so much coming in the season.
Because they hide past protectors' deficiencies the way they play.
I mean, you put yourself in the shoes.
When I first saw Kubiak's offense in New Orleans last year, early in the season, it was like, as a rusher, and you heard Michael Parsons talk about this out of the Carolina game where they were like, hey, what happened today?
Y'all didn't get home.
He goes, I think there were 10 true dropback opportunities in this game.
When you play this team, there's just not a lot of them.
And with the personnel they have and the quarterback that they have currently, they're going to be hard to stop, man.
I mean, like, and the defense, we've been raving about him and Wari every week.
It's like they don't miss a beat and they've missed guys in the secondary.
It's McDonald's a home of a coach.
One arm tackled Debo Samuel in that game.
I feel like the game was so like it was like out of hand at that point and half of America stopped watching.
We saw.
Fly back.
Okay.
I like I like.
Almost fell out of my seat when that happened.
Like I don't, I want people to understand that.
Debr of Samuel was already like one of the hard.
players in the i felt attack yeah do that as you're flying past him with one arm is such an insane alien
play and i know reclimbed strong strong strong man hey i don't want to forget about the biggest
trade of the day which is jacobie meyers to jacksonville dr fax is hyped about this one yeah
jags sending a four and six honestly trade makes a lot of sense makes a lot it's not super sexy but
it makes a ton of sense very logical he catches the ball right what a concept
In Jacksonville.
What's a crazy thing to do down in Jacksonville now?
I think they're top five in drops, right?
I mean, they need more.
Yeah.
They need more dependability, obviously.
And like, they get that in Parker Washington, which is Parker Washington is going
to be one of those guys that Liam Cohen's going to keep him around forever if they can.
Because he's like, when I got there and everybody else was fucking it up, you did your job.
Jacoby Myers is that kind of guy, dude.
Jacoby Myers is like team player, worked the middle of the field, tough guy.
No, I mean, yeah, you mentioned it all the field is big because the other receiver there does not like.
He's a little spooked. He's a little spooked. That's okay. We have issues in that area. I don't think that's okay. It's not okay. But you don't want him working the middle of the field and you just got one of the best middle of field receivers. I really feel. Well, on the topic, Djokobi Myers wishing to be traded all year. Be careful what you wish for. Now you're catching balls from you're catching maybe some hospital balls. So, you know, it's going to be.
catching him though it'll be his 10th yeah we hope if you're not catching him then we know for sure
i saw a raiders fan it was a teen wearing a jacobi meyers raiders jersey at the supermarket
out of in la the other week i wanted to like stop him and get his story yeah like what's your deal bro
how do you know this guy personally when did you buy it like what was your top press as did you do
it going into the season i i just can't believe that exists maybe he's a family member
what's the most memorable jacobi meyers play in his raiders tenure
come on i don't even want to bring it up bring it up the guys the uh rich he's young he's successful
the pitch yeah the pitch is brutal and that's not to say he didn't make a lot of great plays
but it's the raiders so you only remember the the bad moments can you imagine bill watching that play
oh what the fuck are we doing uh this is one thing i wanted to mention to you though chris
i don't want to dwell on the awful moment in this guy's career because he's about the
He's about to have some great moments in Jacksonville.
But I thought this was interesting.
Obviously, Travis Hunter is on IR.
He's done for the year, maybe.
Do you think that Jacoby Myers going to Jacksonville maybe signals that they're going to play Travis Hunter on defense, a little more going forward, which is what you have been kind of campaigning for?
Dude, I've been campaigning for that since the day he was born.
I've been saying, look at this little kid.
He's a Hall of Fame corner.
And now they're trying to make him into five different things.
keep it simple. I went along with it.
Fuck that. When he gets back, he should play defense.
And I don't know that he's going to be back this year.
I don't know enough about the injury, but just in making the move,
it kind of feels like to me it's a bit of a declaration that maybe he won't be back for a while.
Yeah.
Well, that's definitely true.
I know. We all like, not we all, but like I feel like a lot of us,
Ryan and Clark and I had so many conversations where like he's such a good corner.
But then everybody was like, it was like we caught the, the vibes where we were like, no, he's a unicorn.
And we were like, yeah, yeah, yeah.
They're giving up so much for him.
We kind of like went along with it because everybody, you know, in retrospect.
And now I'm like, you know what?
Maybe we should have pushed back harder.
Not necessarily that you played one corner, but I felt very strongly you should just play
one side of the ball and like focus on it.
I agree.
Well, that helps.
I mean, people make it seem like it's easy to develop in the NFL and like it's just not.
And, you know, I think I like the pick because, and I stand by that, you do have a chance at a guy.
It's basically like drafting two players.
Not to say you have to play both players, but there is a high chance, higher than probably any else, anybody else in the top five,
that you're going to find a all pro level or pro bowl level player in that guy because, you know, he plays both sides of the ball.
So if he sucks on one side of the ball, we still got door number two, and he doesn't suck offensively.
I just don't think he changes the game.
Yeah.
Or maybe.
Maybe good, too.
Like, you know, you don't have like highlights as much.
He hasn't even been targeted that much, I think.
But his movement abilities as a cornerback are really special.
So I think I saw him play through the hands in London on Devonte Adams.
And I think it was Devonte Adams.
And I was like, yeah, more of that, dude.
like I want to see that.
I have not seen him catch a ball yet this year where I'm like, oh, yeah, more of that.
You know, I want to see him play defense.
Yeah, so we'll see.
Chris, can I tell you about a trade today that I thought flew into the radar a little bit
that I thought you might be excited about?
Sure.
The Ravens adding Draymont Jones.
That makes a lot of sense to me, man.
I think they're, you know, from personally their defense has evolved so much with Hamilton
going down and being kind of like that utility piece.
He's like low-key and edge rusher now.
They're blitzing a ton with him.
Football player.
Football player.
Like that's a guy you want on your team.
Like give me 11 of those dudes.
You know,
he can probably pass that pretty well also.
But I think this is just kind of a low key.
Yeah,
I agree.
I'm with you though,
but I think it is an interesting.
They need more physicality up front.
He's not like a special pass rusher,
obviously.
But I think he could help them against the run.
He's strong.
You know.
Yeah.
Well,
he's had six sacks over the last,
since week five or something like that.
And I mean, teams are running since week five six sacks in the last couple weeks.
Maybe let me fact.
Really?
I got him at four and a half sacks, which is still pretty freaking good.
Almost six sacks.
But if he's got six sacks in the last couple of weeks,
and sign this guy to a lifetime contract.
Since week five and three weeks, six sacks.
Yeah.
D.
I do.
I like Jermon.
I think I liked him when he was in Denver.
I don't think.
the stand in Seattle was as good.
He wasn't as good, yeah.
But I see the vision.
I also see a team that could win the ice.
They're going to win the day of C North.
Yeah.
And so like this is the kind of under the radar move without selling the farm that you can go out and improve your team.
Speaking of DPOIs, Draymont Jones is one of them since he's had six since we.
Let me find this conversation yesterday, Bo.
like i want to hear what mean i has to say at this point in the year like who's your dpo i at this point
of the year oh my god i don't even know uh i mean it was my
let me pull up the yeah i had to pull up the odds too there's one guy that the odds are pissing me
off so much bet mgm okay wait i want to guess you because you think they're too low or i think
uh yeah the odds are too long on one guy is okay can i just correct myself yes i
I said six. I meant four and a half. My back, Chris. He's had four and a half since week six. He's had four and a half. I'm looking at the staff.
So he busted his slump like with man. He's coming on hot, bro. They come in bunches. All right. Well, according to Dr. Fax, it's Devin Lloyd. Yeah, I know. He's. I mean, these odds are like pretty good to me. Are you do you think Benito's two? I mean, Anderson. I, you. I
I think Brian Burns is criminally low, dude.
I think you, I know it's the Giants.
Well, okay, by the way, another team that I thought I, I, if I'm the giants, why not trade Kvon Fibito?
Yeah.
Well, Andrew Carter looks great.
Brian Burns is the best player in your defense or best edge.
I just want to, I want to whisper this because I think a lot of people don't like the guy, but he's a good football player.
Thibito?
Yeah.
Yeah.
He's been, he's become, it's like, I, you're right.
people are like hard on him he's not one of the dudes he's not one of the five you know 10 but
whatever but he's he's good against the run i love him in pursuit um and i just feel like you're
not you're you're not a playoff team this year you're already stacked on the defensive line
carter i think looks great trade him get i think they could yeah i'm surprised too i'm surprised
too ryan burns has been awesome this year that's a really good take by you i'm looking at sorry
I'm just looking at this list. I probably go Garrett. I think he's been the best defensive
player in football season. Oh, Miles Garrett. Well, you know, like, it's kind of like, what do you want
the, the, what do you want the award to be? Because if it was the best defensive player, like,
they just caught the Miles Garrett award. He's a little bit boring. Now, T.J. Watt,
the last few years, because of the multitude of things he does. But like, I'm pretty sure
Miles Garrett's is demanding the most attention. I kind of call him the Calvin Johnson
of defense events. Remember when Calvin Johnson,
used to line up with four guys in front of him.
Yeah.
Kind of like that with Miles.
I just think Brian Burns, I feel for him because that team is, is booty right now.
And the defense should be much better, you know, of injuries in the secondary.
And Bowen has not been great.
So I feel bad for that front.
And I look at some of the odds ahead of him.
And I'm like, what are those guys done production wise to earn shorter odds than this guy?
Just on the lead defenses.
Like they want someone on the Bronco.
I mean, Bonito's been great, but like, it's like, Broncos.
He was great.
I mean, Anderson Jr. has been ridiculous this year.
He is.
It's ridiculous.
But it's like, you know.
No, I hear you.
I hear you.
You know, they, year after year, it's a production award.
And then, you know, like, you're like, this year, they're like, oh, it's not a production award.
We're going to give it to a guy who's got four or five sacks.
I think he's giving me an edge because it's not, there's no, like, certan season around the age.
No.
I mean, like, I mean, honestly, Hamilton should be.
Yeah.
If I voted for him last.
He was in my top five last year, by the way, because he saved the defense last year.
And he's like doing it again.
He's going to do it again.
He's going to do it again by being the opposite of what he did last year.
Last year they were like, yeah.
That's such a crazy thing to say.
Like, cool.
Last year you saved us by playing the post.
How about you save us this year by playing closer to the line of scrimmage?
Dude, I don't think people understand what a crazy sentence that is that I just said.
You want to see how crazy it is and you've seen this play.
but when and I I don't post a lot but like like I like read quote tweet this because the play just
blew me away was him a couple weeks ago maybe it was the bears game where he picked the damn
guard that was last week that was last week and when I oh no no wait was it the bear no it's the bear's
you're right right I think it was a bear's game the ice cream I was like what you're like Caleb had an
intentional grounding you're right it was the bear's game he just jumps off the screen he just jumps off
the screen. Let's add some weight to him. Let's put on like 45 pounds this off season,
just have him burn the edge. When he's 40, he can be the guy that moves to the defensive line.
Yes. He's like all pro there working his way in. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, that'd be fun to watch.
That's a pipe dream. You know what? I don't know if I've ever seen a player do that.
Speaking of a pipe dream, Kirby Joseph is. Kirby Joseph is plus 10,000 to win defense
player the year along with Kyle Hamilton. Like what? Like these odds make no sense. Are we burned on
the Eagles, we want to talk about some, uh, some of the birds trades or how we feel about
old Howie Roseman cooking over the by week.
I do think they needed to add edge.
Let's start there.
Sure.
Nolan Smith will come back.
That'll help, but it's just not been enough at all the four man rush.
Phillips, you know, I, it's fun.
So I think I can see absolutely why Vick wanted him start here.
And obviously they, they have the history, right?
Going back to Miami, but he is a complete player in a way that I think.
I think Vic really values in his edges.
He can set an edge.
He can play inside outside.
He has great speed and power.
He plays hard.
I think this year he's not been like what he was necessarily in the past,
but some of that has to do with how, you know, dog shit.
The secondary has been.
So yeah, I like this.
I don't know.
I mean, you know, again, it's not like a, he's not one of those crazy dudes.
Not Miles Derrett.
Yeah.
But like as, but when you look.
at the players who did move or lack thereof, they got the best edge by far.
So I think that you got to give them some credit for being aggressive and I had a pretty
reasonable cost because even if they don't keep him cop picks and all that, we'll see.
So I don't know.
I like did you what were your takes on it Chris?
I thought it was.
May I Chris?
Yeah.
Go ahead, Bo.
I just thought it was like a first for a GM that loves to make a splash move.
It was just a very reasonable.
It was just a great solid thing.
You know what I mean?
And I was almost surprised.
about you're expecting fireworks from howie and you know there's all these rumors about how he's trying
to trade three first round pick for miles garrett and i start to get the chills you know and then it's like
oh jalen phillips oh it makes a ton of sense that's kind of where i'm at chris yeah i mean
if you look at his track record at the deadline like it is a mixed bag like how he's a wizard and all that
but like he he's not batting a thousand at the deadline right and and honestly like doesn't have to
you know, these aren't picks that with the comp picks you're going to get back for letting guys walk last year, right, and not replacing them.
You are going to pay for some of these, you know, shots in the dark with capital that you wouldn't have had otherwise.
And so I'm okay with it.
And, you know, like, Jire Alexander, for instance, I don't think he's going to be a guy for them.
I agree.
But, you know, why not?
Like you're rolling the dice.
Give it a shot.
Jalen Phillips has got to be and will be a guy for them.
Jalen Phillips is one of my favorite, most underrated rushers in the NFL.
Like I think if he hadn't been hurt for a lot of his career, he'd be one of those guys we talk about.
I think he's that good when he's on.
And yeah, sometimes he creates more havoc than he gets the production.
You know, like, I mean, think about a lot of people miss that play at the end of the Chargers game.
but you know like I missed a million sacks dude I watched jalen Phillips and I'm like bro I see you
and I think he's a hell of a football player I'm glad how he took the chance on him and I'm sure
it took a Vic nudge I was a little bit surprised it costs a three with his injury history um
but I think he's fantastic and uh and honestly now if they are able to move Cooper outside
and that whole thing works out and they find a slot corner right through the trade with the jet
Yeah, Michael Carter.
With Michael Carter, and he gets back to playing the way he played before.
Like, there is a scenario where all of a sudden you like what the Colts look like.
Yeah.
How do the Eagles look on defense?
And then when you look at like, now we don't have the, we don't have the offensive production or the scheme that they have.
But like defensively.
You got the personnel, though.
You got the personnel, Philly.
Yeah, like the pieces are all there.
You're just kind of waiting for every.
thing to kind of the stars to align a little bit.
How do we feel about Coop playing outside?
If only Shane Steichen never left the building.
Crazy right.
You could get it.
Colts.
How do we feel about Cooper playing outside?
You want to go ahead, Chris?
He can do it.
He can absolutely do it.
But are you taking away a player who's like arguably the best in the NFL at his position?
I know he can do it.
There are subtleties that are different.
and we the only way to find out is and I'm sure they found out in practice and they found out before
in some game situations but to move him out there and say hey this is you I thought at some point
they were going to move macuba into the slot like I got excited because I saw macuba run with like
you know like a crosser and I was like oh maybe he can play in the slot um but we'll see I this is
this is kind of
none of it's going to matter if the offense
doesn't become more consistent.
I'll say that.
I think if they can get this fire put out
and you don't have to, if you don't have to rely
on Adori Jackson or Keeley Ringo,
and you just have a starter quality, low-level starter-quality player
or you move Cooper outside.
That defense is pretty good.
Yeah.
It's been the corner.
So it's worth the gamble.
We'll see.
I just love the how we try shit.
You got to try.
He's just been doing stuff.
You know, like I just love it.
Yeah.
I mean, I think the Phillips thing is like it has a nice floor to it that I like.
And I think he instantly becomes their best edge.
And it was such an issue.
It really was.
So I liked it.
That was funny because it was earlier.
So, you know,
I feel like it didn't get as much attention maybe.
And it was like going into the weekend or whatever.
But I do like that,
especially when you look at who didn't get moved.
right because what other there was no one else so yeah no it's a good move for them i do like it
don't they have an extra third too come on they're fine yeah right exactly they're always fine
they have all their picks next year and germane johnson would have been a guy that i would have
looked at but they probably won like a two for him or something oh really yeah i think
you're crazy like that right no i don't know but i would rather have jaylips so i would too a
healthy jaylin phillips and healthy germane johnson i think it's phillips but um so we'll see
Love the kid excited for him.
Met him in the Super Bowl like a few years back.
That party that we saw Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly at Bo.
I wasn't there for that, Chris.
Thanks for reminding me.
Everybody was all excited because Megan Fox,
while I was out in an alley and Megan Fox walks out.
And actually, this is the night that Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly, that's his name.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
You call them MGK if you want.
MGK, they broke up.
I call him Megan Fox's ex-boyfriend.
So they broke up that night.
I had a first row seat to see.
Oh, I could have had a shot.
I didn't see a fight, but I saw like one walk out and then the other walkout.
Wow.
The moral of the story is I also saw Jalen Phillips in the alley.
And I was way more excited to see him.
And I told him how great he was.
And so I'm really excited for him.
Oh, hold on a second.
Hold on a second.
Hey, Lane.
Can we put you on the on the on the, on the,
how big is his beard right?
now.
Lane,
your beard looks huge.
All right,
Lane was on the podcast.
I'll call you when we.
Got him on.
Put that in the ticket.
Lina Comcho,
featuring Lenny,
two-time guests,
Lane Johnson.
I'll call you back.
Yeah.
All right.
Tell Lane.
Here's the thing about Lane.
He's in his weight room, dude.
Yeah,
of course.
6.30 at night.
Where else would he be?
He's the best.
No,
he's the second best.
Meena,
you're the best.
We appreciate you coming on.
Charlie has one thing we want to show.
something about Romeo Dobbs.
Oh, he's my, you know I love Romeo Dobbs.
Are you in the shadow realm?
So we played in the video.
I haven't seen this.
I've no idea we're talking about.
Oh, yeah, I know this video.
He's talking about Tucker Kraft.
You've seen it all.
You've been working all day.
I mean, I saw you.
I mean, I didn't see you on, because I have YouTube TV, but anyway.
She understand.
I didn't wish that, you know, just on, you know, one of our captains or even just your
worst enemy.
I don't wish that on any man.
And, you know, Tucker is in a better place.
Next question, please.
He's my favorite player of all time.
He's a good player.
Somebody said get him a bigger guardian cap, which is crazy.
But he's my favorite player because I know exactly what he's saying.
I hope they put that on like, you know how they,
when they release the injury report, like for Tucker,
They just put in a better place.
Better place.
Oh, man, I got Kraft in the ESPN War Room League and I'm dead now.
So I'm willing.
Oh, really?
I felt exactly the same way when I, when I saw it.
Hopefully you're in a better place.
I mean, honestly.
I can't talk about it anymore.
Emotion.
That's insane that like he, I assume he didn't know how that sounded, but like, uh, no context.
I'm thinking Tucker Kraft is, is, is deceased.
God, no longer with us.
That reminds me of like Michael Scott from the opposite, you know, when he's talking.
He's like, sometimes I start a sentence and I don't really know where it's going with it.
Yeah.
You can just see that.
I just love her in his head like fuck fuck.
Fuck.
He's in a better place.
He's definitely in a better place.
He's definitely in a better place.
When's the vigil?
Absolutely.
All right.
All right.
Leo Williams DPOI candidacy starts on the Green Light Pocket.
of the Greenlight podcast i'm glad to join the movement i think he's he's in the top 15 or so
because everyone's like wow the siont's defense is great no stars i'm like they got a star
am i crazy yeah dude that's insane it's just he's got to have like eight or nine sacks right how
many did he's gonna finish his career with like dude he's been doing it like he's
probably what like year 12 now he has four sacks no shit no way
Given how good this defense is this year.
Yeah, good sacks aren't everything, Bo.
Believe me, Chris.
I know, brother.
Believe me.
He gets doubled on at least 50% of plays.
Byron Murphy.
And the way McDonald, sorry, I know we're trying to end, but the way McDonald's,
he's clearly like the queen on the test board on the defensive line.
Like in a single game, I saw him at like 0-1-5-7-9 for at least multiple snaps.
It was unbelievable.
It's awesome.
It's awesome.
They line him up outside in Wosu.
I mean, he's just so good at using him to get doubles and get one-on-ones for everyone else.
I'm just such a fan of his.
That's how we used to use Bo.
What?
Just first and second now.
No, you were the queen on our chessboard, dude.
Like, we would put you places and, and it would, like, demand slide and triples.
Yeah.
That's the future that he had.
They're like, oh, we got Bo Allen on one side.
We got Fletcher Cox and the other.
Let's bring the slide over here to a big number 94.
That's right.
He's got three moves.
That's right.
Two, really. All right. Well, um, y'all take care.
See ya.
Thank you, Mina. Thank you. Chris, thanks for coming on my show, man.
