Welcome to this guided sleep meditation for caring and going easy on yourself.
So often, without even realising it, we place,
enormous pressure on our own shoulders. We hold ourselves to high standards, always striving to do our best,
and while that dedication can be a positive force, it can also tip into something unhelpful,
like self-criticism, harsh in a talk, and a cycle of stress that slowly wears us down.
This meditation is an invitation to release that weight.
Tonight you are encouraged to let go of the habit of being hard on yourself.
You'll be guided to soften your body, quiet your mind,
and remember that it is not a weakness to be gentle.
It's a strength.
As you settle into rest, you will be reminded that you are always.
already enough. You don't need to strive or achieve anything in this moment. Instead, you can
allow yourself to rest deeply with compassion and ease. So please listen to this recording
in a place where you can safely sleep. So close your eyes and let's begin. Firstly, let's take a moment
to find comfort.
Let your arms and legs rest naturally.
Feel the support beneath you.
And when you're ready,
gently close your eyes.
This is your time
to rest, to soften
and treat yourself with kindness.
This is your time now.
The day is done.
And you've arrived at this moment where you can let it all go.
So really get as comfortable as you can,
whether on your back or your side,
or in whatever position feels best for you.
Let your body be supported by the bed.
The bed feels so good.
And nothing is expected of you now.
There's nowhere you need to be.
There is only this moment, soft, quiet and completely your own.
And give yourself a mission to release the day.
So let's take a long, slow breath in through your nose, slower breath.
Again, breathing in slowly, letting it go.
softer and slower and breathe in, exhale out, imagining the weight of the day melting away,
drifting far behind you.
Now we're going to relax so that every muscle becomes soft, heavy and ready for sleep.
Just feel so much more comfortable now.
at your head.
Rest so softly in the pillow.
Bring awareness to the top of your head.
Golden light rests there.
Soothing in color, it spreads across your skill.
A relaxing feeling your forehead softens.
Your brow relaxes.
and all the little small muscles around your eyes detents.
So your eyes just feel so gentle.
Your cheeks relax.
Your jaw unclenches.
Your mouth might gently open
or you might unclench your teeth and your whole head
feel so deeply relaxed.
This warm, relaxing feeling
flows into your neck
and into your shoulders
helping your shoulders drop
and sinking even more deeply into the mattress
and into the top of your back
and with each exhale out.
You relax even further
as if the air itself
is helping you relax
sensation
now goes
into your upper arms
softening the muscles
moving down to your elbows
loosening them
through your forearms
into your wrists and hands
and finally
into end every finger
your arms
may feel so heavy now
as if gravity itself is putting you gently downward into the bed.
And this warm relaxation feeling goes into your upper back.
Imagine the warm wave, soothing your shoulder blades, and it goes down.
The middle of your back loosens you more.
lower back softens and you sink deeper into the bed.
It's so loose and heavy, perfectly supported.
With your stomach rising gently, with each breath, no effort at all this.
It's just natural, your calming rhythm of your breathing.
So good helps you settle into stillness as your stomach loosens, releasing any tension it may have been holding and you breathe through the stomach area.
You make sure you're not breathing through the shoulder or upper chest area.
This is a sign of stressful breathing.
you focus your deep breaths.
Those easy soft breath are a carrier.
This wave of calm relaxation
moves into your hips,
your pelvis, relax muscles flow through.
Feel warm and heavy.
Your calves soften.
Your ankles release.
The feeling flows into your feet.
into your feet, even your toes uncurled and let go.
The entire body is one.
Your relaxation happening from the top of your head to the tips of your toes.
Every muscle, every joint, every fibre is loose, heavy and warm, and you might imagine yourself.
Sinking more gently into the matrile.
into the mattress or floating softly in a calm, still see.
There's no need to move.
No need to do anything at all.
We need to do simply here.
Breathe that's drift in.
Let them pass like clouds across a wide,
dark sky.
being to follow
and you stay here for a few moments
into comfort
beginning to settle
in this quiet
gentle space
you'll take a moment
for a gentle reflection
there's no need to think too hard
no need
to find perfect answers
just that thoughts
drift in naturally
like ripples
moving across
moving across calm water and if they fade away, you're going to ask yourself.
Three gentle questions. After each one, there will be time for you to simply notice what appears
and let it pass as your body continues to rest. Is there anything in your life right now
that is giving you stress or anxiety?
When you begin to feel stress, can you be aware and mindful
over these thoughts arising during the day
and gently catch them before they take hold?
There is nothing you need to solve in this moment.
Just notice and let the thoughts drift off.
Let's move on to the next question.
When challenges appear,
What thoughts or feelings tend to come to you first?
If they arise again, how might you choose to respond differently?
Tomorrow will the next day that is gender and kinder towards yourself.
Let these ideas drift softly through your mind.
Last question,
What signs does your mind or body give you when the stress begins to build?
What small loving action can you take in that moment to remain calm and balanced?
Just notice without holding onto anything what appears in your mind to fade like mist and take one
more slow, steady breath, then release it fully, allowing yourself to sink even deeper into rest
unless your body remains soft and still. I want to share a gentle practice with you. There's no need
to use it right now. You can just simply listen, letting the idea settle quietly into your mind,
or your subconscious, ready for you.
When you need it, there may be moments in the days ahead.
When you notice stress building, when you notice yourself being critical of yourself.
Maybe your thoughts begin to run faster.
Or you just catch yourself where you feel the tension tightening your shoulders
or your chest.
That happens.
You can pause.
Take a slow breath in and out
and gently and clearly in your mind.
Say stop.
It can be like a calm,
steady hand
resting on your shoulder.
Reminding you
that you have a choice.
You can choose
not to step into the old cycle of self-criticism or after you say stop.
You can quietly remind yourself not get caught in this cycle.
I choose to love myself.
To accept myself funny.
I choose not to let stress control me.
Now as you rest here,
You might softly repeat those words in your mind without any effort, letting them drift in and out,
like the tide and letting them go completely, so your mind becomes clear and open again,
sinking even further into peace.
And as you lie here, in this calm and quiet space,
Let yourself imagine that you are in a safe, peaceful place on a steel lake under a starlit sky
in the softest blanket you've ever felt everything around you was warm, still and deeply comforting
and from here I want to share some gentle affirmations.
with you. You don't need to speak them. You don't even need to remember them. You can simply
let the words wash over you like a soft tide rolling in an air. I am strong. I deserve to love
myself, to accept myself. I deserve peace of a calm and accept myself fully. I won't be
harder myself anymore.
You'll longer give myself
any negative self
talk. Remember
my achievements. I celebrate
my achievements.
Self-criticism
doesn't help me
and I'm just going to go
easy on myself. Imagine
yourself
as the child you once were
you're still like this child
in so many ways.
Would you want them to
hear any negative self-talk or criticism about yourself and you're not going to let your
adult self do this to you anymore say stop when negative self talk are a good person
and you can imagine these words settling into you like gentle drops of rain
soaking into soft and bringing nourishment and peace.
You can take them with you tomorrow.
The words are remembering my strength,
remembering my thoughtfulness and kindness,
remembering to love myself,
remembering to forgive myself,
remembering to feel joy,
remembering to feel at peace,
remembering to keep a calm and balance my mind.
to forgive yourself.
These reminders
float around you
like soft
glowing lights
gently dimming
becoming quieter
until they dissolve
into the stillness
your breath
is slow and steady
your body is heavy
and your mind
is like a calm
open sky
with only the faintest
drifting clear thoughts appear
you can just let them pass
like leaves
drifting past you on a slow
moving river
any thoughts you don't want
any negativity
they simply arrive
drift away in deeper now
to a place
where nothing has asked of you
where you don't put pressure on yourself,
just like the upcoming days.
You don't pressurize yourself too.
There's nothing you need to do.
No problems to solve.
Nothing to remember.
And just let the gentle rhythm of your breathing.
You're safe here.
