Hi there, in tonight's sleep meditation, you release chronic overthinking and overactive
thoughts, your mind will slow down, you will let go of thoughts of the day, and your body and spirit will
relax too. This is Sleep Cove, the largest sleep podcast in the world. I'm Christopher Fitton,
and please subscribe with the bell. Please listen to this recording in a place where you can
safely sleep. And let's begin.
You may have noticed, however thought sometimes won't go away.
One after another, pining up like waves that arrive too quickly at the shore.
The mind begins to talk and talk, replaying moments, analyzing details,
revisiting memories again and again.
We all do this, and we all can let go of these thoughts.
just think about worries from years ago.
They probably seem a little silly now
and you wonder
why was I up or night
thinking about those things.
Thankfully, meditation and mindfulness
is proven to help overthinking.
With the techniques you were here tonight
you'll train your mind to get out of the sleep
through relaxation
we'll get the mind
to loosen its grip
not by force
and not by effort
but by softly changing
where attention rests
with time
the mind begins to settle
on its own
drifting towards
calmer
steadier ground
where force
no longer need
to pause
so strongly, because it is not the thoughts themselves that trouble us most, but the feelings
that come with them, the tension, the worry, the imagine weight of what might be in this quiet
space, those feelings are allowed to soften, little by little.
by setting yourself somewhere that feels safe and comfortable where your body can simply listen for a little while.
Allow yourself to fully arrive here and if you haven't already,
let your eyes gently close as the outside world begins to fade without changing anything.
Bring your attention to your breathing
Notice the gentle lift of your belly
As your breath
Natural release
The gentle rise and fall
Of your belly
moves easily on its own
You want to make sure that you are
Breathing through the belly
The chest area
Because upper chest breathing
leads to stress
but deep
belly breathing
to relaxation and focus
on the quiet rise and fall
of the belly
as the breath
moves easily on its own
deep breath
you inhale
your belly expands
and then relax
out there is nothing
just notice
the breath as it moves in as you rest here.
Begin to sense the temperature of your body, a gentle warmth,
a feeling in certain places.
Some parts of you may feel warmer than others,
and that's absolutely fine.
Just notice these sensations.
As you breathe deeply in and you get so comfortable your body, feel supported and safe, perhaps wrapped in blanket, and your head and cushionable, perfectly supported.
Your weight, perfectly balanced.
There is nowhere you need to go.
Nothing, nothing you need to think.
It settles downwards, your shoulders and soften.
And if you want to, you can stride more.
The muscles in your face, your jaw, detents this, falls in your forehead.
Gently let go and sit all muscles.
Let go and relax.
Your eyelids in their sockets completely uncletches now.
Your teeth may park your tongue, rests comfortably in your mouth and this relaxing feeling
down into your neck and shoulders,
soothing any aches and pains
for on the day,
I mean holding anything there.
You just let your shoulders drop again,
melting downward.
Need to carry the day anymore.
It feels
go into your arms,
your upper arms.
Loosen
your hands
softly rest
to your fingers
across your back,
through to the
the thighs, relaxation of life when he goes now to search for it.
You simply notice quiet movements of the mind to get it right, the gentle wall, your feet
and your toes, resting quietly to drift through your arms, noticing whatever sensations
are present softly.
Just notice what you find there's no need to the body.
settles more deeply into rest. This is so normal. This is the body
doing what it knows how to do. Settle movements,
tiny adjustments happening on their own. Some parts of you feel heavy now.
A little tension. There is nothing you need to fix. No relaxation to force.
You are simply notice to respond. There is no harrow
hurry.
Moment is enough.
As you continue to breathe,
find it to slow things down.
Just a little.
Nothing forced.
Perhaps the next breath.
We'll arrive more slowly.
The breath out.
Just lingers for a moment longer.
Like a wave easing its way back.
Soften all of its own.
There is no wasted effort here.
No extra thinking.
Just a simple, natural request to slow down
as that calm presence spreads more and more,
spreads into your mind,
that stillness follows, may still appear.
That's perfectly natural.
Notice a word, distractions, but they come and go.
Just like clouds, drifting across a wide,
You can remain a little further back now, resting outside of judgment, outside of evaluation,
simply allowing everything to be as it is, notice the thought they don't need to be controlled,
be changed into quiet, gently, soften and fade to drift away in their own time.
ease of thoughts, there is something deeper here,
something calmer, something the remains appear,
and then quietly disappear again, shooting stars,
before moving on, thoughts arrive,
with a bit more momentum, asking to be noticed,
bouncing for attention.
But imagine they are like shooting stars,
see them for a second,
say rather, injurether
