out. So here is a preview of the Healing Color Meditation.
Welcome to Sleep Cove, the place to come for a great night's sleep.
With me, Christopher Fitton.
Tonight we're going to be doing a relaxing healing colour meditation to help you sleep quickly in under 15 minutes.
We'll use deep breathing as well as guided colour imagery and progressive muscle relaxation.
to remove any anxiety and stress.
So let's begin.
Please get comfortable in a place
that if you were to fall asleep,
you could safely do so.
And you will be listening to the sound of my voice
as I guide you in this meditation.
And I would like you
to put one hand on your stomach
and one hand on your chest
and feel where the breathing is coming from.
You want to make sure that the breathing is emanating from the stomach
and not coming from the upper chest area.
If it is coming from the upper chest area,
then we know that you're not breathing efficiently or deeply.
We want to be making sure that the breathing is happening through our stomach.
and that's deep, beddy breathing
where we breathe efficiently
and the oxygen and air
circulates to the deep
that means that we are shallow breathing
and shadow breathing is not good
as it means that oxygen
cannot bind with the red blood cells
because your CO2
will not be in sync with your body
that's why it's really important
to do deep, slow breathing.
Breathing fast unnecessarily
actually makes the red blood cells
not bind with the oxygen cells efficiently.
And that is one of the reasons
why stress can increase.
So imagine your hand on your stomach,
gently rising and falling.
If it's very still and calm, that's great.
You want to make sure that your hand is gently rising and falling
and your energy is coming from your stomach.
Movement is coming.
So take a deep breath in through your stomach
and count to five as you do so.
Three, four, five.
For two seconds and then gently let go like a balloon,
gently deflating.
and let all the air come out of your lungs in one smooth motion.
Every exhale you take, gently let go out of your lungs.
This will help you get into a deep cycle of breathing.
We always want to make sure that the exhale is longer than the inhale.
That means our blood chemistry will be in the air.
sink with our body and it helps to reduce anxieties and gives calming energy to the body.
And as we take these deep breaths, I want you to imagine the muscles in your forehead
gently smoothing, detensing and relaxing.
All the lines just gently relax in your forehead as you let the move through.
down into your eyelids now
and all the little
muscles around
your eyes
gently detents as well
don't feel tight
on your eyes anymore
they just feel like
gentle sheets
just draping over your eyelids
the little muscles around your eyes
smooth out
moves down into the rest of your face
and into your jaw
and your jaw can slightly open if you wish.
As you feel complete relaxation,
your whole face feels so relaxed.
